Kaede couldn't help but to wake up annoyed that morning.

The sound of her alarm rang through the girl's ears as she reluctantly sat up in bed, morning light shining through her window. Kaede mumbled curses under her breath as she practically tumbled out of the warmth of her bed, alarm still blaring. After blindly slamming whatever was in her way until her hand connected with her alarm, now quiet, Kaede's half asleep gaze landed on her school uniform that her older sister made sure was hung up the night before. Right, it was time to get ready now that she was awake. Kaede sighed.

As Kaede pulled on a white-collar shirt and a vest, she could suddenly smell a nice aroma making it's way towards her room. Quickly slipping her arms through her blazer and fastening her skirt along her waist, Kaede made her way downstairs where she found her sister in the middle of making breakfast.

Hearing Kaede come in, Mai turned her head and smiled. "So you managed to wake up yourself for once."

In that moment, Kaede focused on the sizzling sound coming from the pan as she took a seat at the table. "Hm."

Mai stared for a moment longer before turning back to the pan herself. "A very good morning to you as well."

Minutes passed in silence. Mai eventually broke it. "These eggs should be done soon. I'll be leaving as soon as they are."

Kaede rested her head against the palm of her hand, staring hard into the table. Mai's grip tightened around the pan's handle. "If you're still upset about what happened with Love Live, then you are more childish than I originally thought."

Kaede narrowed her eyes, her gaze flicking towards her sister. "You could have won and you knew it." She quietly replied.

The sizzling almost increased in volume. Mai became silent. Then, an exhale. "Perhaps. But sometimes things happen. It really isn't as big of a deal as you are making it out to be." She carefully transports the now finished eggs onto a plate, placing it in front of her younger sister. "Here. Eat quickly and stop moping."

And with that, Kaede's sister swiftly left the room, taking her phone out as she did so. Moments later, Kaede could hear her leave the house. Now alone, Kaede began to slowly eat the eggs. They were, of course, as good as they always were when Mai made them.

The walk to school was very boring. Kaede shoved her hands into her pockets, her bag dangling helplessly from her shoulder. Lost in her thoughts, Kaede listlessly kicked a pebble along.

"Oh, here, here! Look, this is the best part of the whole song!"

"..Isn't this just another love song?"

Kaede felt herself snap back to reality when she all of a sudden could hear her sister's singing voice which was pouring out heartfelt emotion. Up ahead, there were two students who were watching a video of a past performance of Mai's. Her sister always sung her lines so passionately, and Kaede could feel it even as it was played through a phone. These two students wore the same uniform as Kaede, with one of them seeming more enthusiastic than the other.

"Yeah, but..it's a forbidden love type of thing! Plus, this song has a completely different meaning compared to the others! This is the part in the story where Angel turns against God to be with Enjel! Look, see, the choreography represents them falling together now.."

"Oh, yeah? ..huh, they're good at dancing, I guess.."

"Right?!" The student sighs dreamily. "I just wish I could have seen them perform in the final round.."

"Did they not make it that far or something?"

Kaede began to walk faster.

"No, they did! They were supposed to perform, but.."

Kaede managed to walk ahead of the two students, far enough ahead that the conversation could now be drowned out. She began looking for another pebble to kick. Obviously..with how popular her sister's school idol group had become, Kaede knew there would be talk. Especially after they failed to show up to the final round's stage. The one part that everyone would be tuning in for..

But a part of Kaede would rather not overhear such talk. She's seen enough of it online already.

Kaede slid the door to her classroom open, and immediately was hit by overlapping conversation. It did not take long for her to realize what the subject matter was about.

"Do you think they got into a fight?"

"Maybe they planned to not show up all along?"

"They probably planned it with the other group!"

"But wasn't the other group just as shocked?"

"What if they never perform again?"

"I was really excited to see them, too.."

You got to be kidding me..even here? Kaede walked over to her seat, sitting down in a huff. She probably should have expected this, but..

As Kaede looked out the window in an attempt to disconnect herself from the constant chatter, something caught her eye. Or rather, someone. In front of her sat a girl who's name Kaede only knew due to the teacher taking attendance and saying it himself. Kanna Fukuhara.

She was acting a little odd. Or at least, she was doing things that Kaede didn't remember her doing before. Her face was buried in a book, like every other day, but her fingers were loudly and repeatedly tapping against her desk, as if she were trying to cancel out the noise inside the classroom with her own. Plus, her body appeared to be rather tense, and her focus didn't seem to be fully on the book.

Kaede watched this for a moment. Then, she reached into her bag and pulled out a pair of earbuds. Wordlessly, she tapped on the girl's back, prompting Kanna to turn around, fear flashing within her eyes for the quickest of seconds.

They stared at each other, with a look of surprise becoming evident on Kanna's face as her eyes moved to look at the earbuds that were held in Kaede's hand. They had never exchanged words before, much less look in each other's direction. It appeared that Kanna didn't seem to know what to make of this. Until she very hesitantly reached her hand forward and gently took the earbuds. "U-Um..thank you..Sakagami-san.."

So Kanna knew her name too. Probably from attendance.

Kaede sighed, leaning her head against her hand as she began to look out the window. The classroom still buzzing with noise, thoughts began to form in Kaede's mind. One such thought being, if you can create this much commotion in people just by becoming a popular school idol group, Kaede knew deep down that she wouldn't make the same mistake as her sister if she were in a group like that.

I mean..all it does is bring negative attention on you or your group if you don't show up when everyone thinks you are.. Kaede thought. If I were a school idol, I wouldn't mess up like that..

Kaede then paused. If I were a school idol, huh..?

Yumi is sure to wake up bright and early! After a quick shower and brushing her hair, she gets dressed for school and starts on breakfast! As she cooks up her eggs and toast, she can't help but spin around, trying out her relatively new skirt- her last school didn't have anything this cute! ...at least not that she could wear.
Hair and teeth brushed, hair done up in a relaxed braid, and breakfast eaten, Yumi is ready for school! She grabs her bag and heads out the door, half-skipping until she reaches the school grounds.

Ember's hair might be short, but it's still a mess when she wakes up on the floor of the living room. "Ughhh..." she rubs the back of her head as she sits up and looks at the mess around her. "Oh right, movie night. Ugh." She stands up on unsteady legs, grabbing the couch to steady herself, and poking her brother on the cheek. "Heeeyyyy... wake uuupppp..." but he still won't stir.
"Just wanted to say you're the worst!" Ember playfully calls over her shoulder as she heads for the kitchen. "I'm making coffee, make sure to get some before it gets cold!" She also has some prepackaged cheese and meat as she makes herself breakfast and lunch- a sandwich for both.
Quickly changing into her uniform and running her fingers through her hair to straighten it, she takes her coffee to go in a thermos and heads out the door.

Yumi notices all the chatter about the latest idol group to fall from fame. She hasn't been around long enough to really know about the group in question, but they sounded important at least. She pulls out her agenda, looking for her class and then she'll be all set.

Ember wanders into the school, thermos in hand. She considers heading to the teacher's lounge to get more coffee... maybe after class.

When Yumi sits down in class, she pulls out her phone to look up this group, 'Love Live'; they seem pretty good. Gosh, it would be so much fun to be in a group like that!

When Ember gets to class, she crosses her arms and lies down her head. Time to sleep before class.

The teacher soon came into the classroom. Even he was quick to notice the rather loud chatter. "Okay, as excited as you all may be, I have to take attendance. So I ask you all to be quiet."

After the attendance had been taken and the class began, Kaede was quick to block it out as she started to zone out. She never considered the idea, but..maybe she could do what her sister did? Although, how did her sister even start to begin with? And..did Kaede even have the talent to be a school idol? Kaede had viewed many of DUAL ANGEL's live shows, as well as witnessing how tired Mai would be when she'd come home from practice. Could Kaede handle that? Not to even mention, coming up with lyrics for songs, and the choreography to go with it..and costumes.

But remembering DUAL ANGEL's performances, the way they would dance and sing with almost no mistakes, the practice and training they had put themselves through clear in their movements..the way it all fell into place to create the perfect live show. It was exciting to picture. But even so, Kaede could hardly imagine standing atop a stage like the ones her sister has. Her sister was a natural up there, while Kaede was more..suited to sitting among the audience.

Although..even Mai had to learn how to sing in the beginning.. She thought. Being an audience member and being the school idol performing are two complete separate things, though..

Class soon came to an end. As Kaede blinked and shook her leftover thoughts from her head, she noticed Kanna turn around in her seat, facing her. "Um..here." She mumbled quietly, handing Kaede the earbuds she had lent her. "..thank you."

Taking the earbuds into her hands, Kaede watched as her purple-haired classmate quickly hurried off out of the classroom, clutching her bag close to her. Kaede looked on, seeing her slide the door open and closed. The girl must have somewhere to be during this lunch period.

Well, so did Kaede. A good number of students either ate lunch in the classroom or courtyard, but Kaede preferred to be somewhere else. Not exactly her own classroom. Standing up, Kaede began to walk through the school's halls. Walking up the stairs leading to the second floor, her eyes began to search for a certain room number. Her feet soon stopped when she had found it, pausing in front of the door.

Inside was an empty, seemingly unused classroom. With all the time Kaede has spent inside it previously, she had never seen anyone come in. Which is good, Kaede didn't know if she'd get in trouble for being here.

Sitting down on the floor, Kaede took out her lunch that her sister had made for her. She blankly stared at it as she ate. Lost in her thoughts again, Kaede glanced at her phone. Frowning, she grabbed it and her thumbs started rapidly tapping. Plugging her earbuds into her phone, Kaede clicked on one of the videos that had come up as a result of her search.

DUAL ANGEL's music filled her ears as the video played. Her frown still present, Kaede purposefully paid attention to their dancing. They were in sync with each other. Now viewing this performance once more, Kaede paused the video. Could I..do this too? She asked herself, doubtful. Perhaps she really was more suited to be an audience member, rather than being the one onstage.

Yumi is still trying to make a good impression on the school, and as such she takes diligent notes! ...her penmanship isn't fancy, but it is legible, and that's all that matters.
Once class is over, she heads off to lunch- she doesn't like all the students running around like mad, so she wanders over to find somewhere where she can eat alone. "...this school has an auditorium?" She wanders into the large room where only a few other students are sitting around in groups, taking out her lunch and sitting on the edge of the stage to eat, imagining what it might be like to give a speech or put on a play in front of the whole school like this. Well, if the stage lights are good, the people on stage won't even see the audience; it's a refreshing thought.

Ember drinks the rest of her coffee during class, not paying much attention to the teacher due to her lack of sleep. Once it comes time for lunch, however, she heads down to the cafeteria to meet with her friends, talking about the topic of the day- an idol group who failed to show up to the finals. Why would anyone complain about getting to cut class to go dancing? Sounds like a dream come true! ...as long as there's enough coffee to make it through the show.
