Detachment & Disconnection

The Atlesian militant force is rivaled by none. It's taught by elementary teachers in Atlas that the combined powers of Vale, Vacuo and Mistral couldn't hold a candle to Atlas economically, militaristically, culturally or technologically. No one expected them to act on their superiority. The Cross Continental Transmit System was the first to go; all communication systems were made useless without notice. Next, supply routes into Atlas were seized, and supply routes out of Atlas simply stopped leaving. All power supplied by Atlas stayed within their borders, and all Atlas tech was remotely deactivated soon after. Chaos in Vale, Mistral and Vacuo ensued.

Your character sheet depends on your role. There are two possible roles; leader and, for lack of a better name, troop. Writers for leaders will be chosen and contacted by me. If you are not contacted by me, do not make a leader character. Troops will be accepted after we have a fair amount of leaders posted. There will be four troops under each leader, the troops will choose their leader and not the other way around.

Nickname(s): Captain Gildarts, Captain Aurea, Aurea the Courageous, Aurea the Cowardly, Aurea the Lion
Name Relevance:
Several things come to mind with her name. Aurea is simple and straightforward. It means golden. 'Aura' as a whole is a theme with her. Gildarts is similar, coming from 'gilded', but has a double meaning, it is the centralized theme around Aurea, where she is 'gilded' or 'tempered' as a person. Alke is the culmination of the meaning of her name. Alke is the spirit personifying courage and battle-strength, again a potent theme for her.

Faunus Traits: Aurea's traits as a Faunus are extremely subdued. You almost wouldn't even know she was a Faunus. Most don't. First, she doesn't broadcast her race's traits, save for a few odd cat-like mannerisms if you're paying attention. Other than that her Faunus trait is as strong jaw with sharpened fangs. Despite that being her trait, Aurea can physically grow her sharp nails at will, to form a set of hardened 'claws'.

Build: Though busty, with curves in all the right places, her form is more than just a mere sight of feminine beauty. It simply isn't her entire attribute. Aurea's form is extremely authoritative and dominate; a woman who stands with poise and purpose. Her legs in particular are extremely strong, with thick creamy thighs displayed proudly. Her attire is that of a high-ranked, commanding armored knight, that demands respect. Aurea wears a rather flashy crowd atop her head.
Hair: Aurea has long, luscious locks of bright silver hair. Her hair has a healthy sheen unlike any other, glimmering and reflecting colors upon its silvery-surface. She takes great care of her hair, and loves how the length, the color, and the beautiful sheen empirically conveys power and authority.
Eyes: Aurea's eyes are like her hair. Glittering deep pools of bright sterling silver. The pearly orbs radiate passion, strength, and conviction. They are literal windows to her soul, capable of conveying any emotions she feels, glowing unusual colors because of both her Semblance and their reflective nature.
Skin: Like everything else, Aurea's skin is a masterpiece of refinement and elegance. The femininity that radiates from her very skin is so entrancing. Her fair skin is translucent, glossy white, and is quite silky to the touch. Any sort of physical interaction with Aurea can be intoxicating and addicting.
Mannerisms:
Aurea has a few distinct patterns that sort of hint at her Faunus heritage. When she's flustered she'll whine and often mewl. If she's happy, or feeling particularly elated, she has a tendency to purr, albeit very lowly and discreetly. She is very careful and guarded normally, so any cat-like tendencies are either very subdued, or they are hidden entirely, and you have to look hard to see them. Also, when Aurea isn't busy, she naps. Like, a lot. Aurea loves to stretch out, lay down on something warm, and just sleep. Aurea's speech can be quite elegant and colorful. She tends to speak in a poetic way, using colorful speak, and even some oldish-styled words, trying her hardest to sound more distinct and elegant than people around her. She even goes so far as to rhyme sometimes, for no apparent reason. When in a confrontation, or when she is agitated, Aurea will growl, or even roar if she is extremely enraged, such as when she uses 'Anger'. Elsewise, when she isn't bothered or otherwise in a calm state, Aurea can be seen standing off to the side acting quite tranquil, and dignified.

Nature
Personality:
Aurea's personality is rather unique, in the fact that she has a pretty defined one, yet with her Semblance she has something no one else does. Complete control over her own personality. Or more specifically her emotions, which when tapped into, significantly alter and define her personality as a whole.

Regardless, when she is being her normal self Aurea isn't the most mature of women. Now, don't take that wrong. She is a polite leader, both worthy of respect, and reverent to the ones around her. She speaks with a mostly calm demeanor, with a certain chill, and lax way of talk. Yet she also has poise and grace to her words. She knows how to both be firm, as well as, soft and slack. It is her composed attitude combined with her elegance that draws so many to her. She is easily understood as a caring and courteous, yet resolute and determined individual.

Or usually. The issue comes in the fact that Aurea struggles with self-confidence. Namely in the form of courage. Ever since she was young, she has been quite the coward. In fact, when she was young, she was the biggest coward. Never able to really get over such a weakness. The kids around made fun of her, prodded her, teased -tormented- her. It did not help with her self-esteem. Ever since, she has struggled to overcome this level of cowardice that has permeated her being. Well... she did for the most part, and it is due to this, that those above her have seen her worthiness, granting her her position.

Aurea is now usually quite the collected, even gallant young woman. Still, she continues to have issues with being brave, sometimes struggling to obey orders out of simple fear. Sometimes she fears even meeting her classes and subordinates, scared of how they perceive her, or think of her. Yet, with a simple 'dose' of her Semblance, this tends to not be an issue. Though, her Semblance does fix the problem, it is a naive, temporary -and frankly juvenile- fix. Those deep-seeded problems within her are ingrained in her very being; they require Aurea to work on them, not to simply push a 'quick fix' button. She may mostly seem to be over it now, appearing quite confident; in truth, Aurea actually has many underlying insecurities left over from her youth that she struggles to get over.

Aurea also tends to be quite easily flustered. Any compliments thrown her way, especially those about being courageous, impressing someone, or being a 'hero', make her a bashful little klutz. She can be just the cutest, if one knows how to manipulate her with flattery. She also hasn't found a lover yet, and anyone interested in any way can definitely manage to make her blush. It's quite easy! Her only way of dealing with this sort of attention is her Semblance, so don't be surprised if she does so!

Music: She is a fan of loud orchestral musics. Or boisterous glam rock. Anything with an oomph or power behind it. Lyrics, she prefers sad music, for reasons not understood, yet feels herself tapping and nodding her head along to party-styled music.
Activities: Aurea is most often seen training, something she does whenever she can. She does all sorts of training, from martial arts, to training with training dummies, to the unique "Perseverance Training" she puts her Aura through. When she isn't training, she's often commanding lessers beneath her, which include those 'students' she is leader for. Then, if she isn't doing that, she is most likely lazing around, cat-napping to her heart's content. Still, another thing Aurea is often doing is cleaning and tempering her weapon. She enjoys sports, too, but is too modest and thinks she's not very good at them, when she is usually excellent at them on account she is quite physically fit. A favorite of Aurea's is to play with her students. She enjoys messing around with them in various combat-oriented tests. She enjoys sparring as well, but most don't match her in skill so any spars tend to be a tad underwhelming, and fairly disappointing, if she's being honest. Aurea's favorite thing to do is to defend the weak, usually from Grimm. She usually has to buffer herself with Courage, but it is still something she loves doing, and aspires to at all times. An unusual favorite of Aurea is she enjoys walking through gardens, appreciating nature, flowers, the scenery, and life. She'll also read a good book or two every now and then. Aurea also loves swimming and bathing, despite being a 'cat'. Aurea doesn't broadcast it, because she often finds herself embarrassed, and she's not super brave when it comes to being an extrovert, but she loves trying new things; anything, everything, she'll try once, at least.

Likes: Training, pupils, testing her pupils, nature walks, cat-naps, bathing and swimming, steak, her Semblance, courage, defending those who need it, watching those around her get stronger, is partial to those from the less fortunate, classless, of ill-repute side of Mistral.
Dislikes: Dishonesty, her own cowardice and weakness, unenthusiastic people and general pessimism, the mistreatment of nature, the prejudice and bigotry shown the Faunus, the way Atlas is handling themselves right now.

Life
Backstory:
Born in Mistral's main city, Aurea was the first child to Athen and Cybele, two esteemed members of higher society with some various... elitist sensibilities. Though not around for the Great War, her parents were still influenced by it, since their parents were allies to Mantle. During the Great War, Mantle forced Mistral to adopt their ways, and stifle self-expression. This was a mentality her grandparents adopted, and enforced on her own parents. Thus her parents had trouble agreeing with Aurea's inherent inclination for self-expression. Their constant chastisement, and harsh words got to a young Aurea. Hypocritically, both are contributors of incredible artworks and architecture, which is how they met. They're high-class within the city of Mistral, very respected despite their tired, passe opinions.

Aurea wanted to distance herself from her controlling, judgmental parents, so she decided to become a Huntress, but because of her cowardice, it was a hard climb for her. Yet, she pursued her goals, joining the appropriate schools to train and learn. She struggled in these school, bullied by people who thought themselves her betters, not realizing how influential her parents were, since she tried to keep her life before school a relative secret. Most viewed her a punk from the part of Mistral that was of ill-repute. Aurea was too scared to alleviate these wild claims, and so her time during school was not pleasant. It was her lack of courage and will that kept her troubled and enabled the bullies.

Ultimately, this is how she manifested her Semblance. Aurea needed a way to make herself stronger emotionally. She needed some sort of confidence boost. She needed stability. To answer her prayers, her Semblance first appeared when she was undergoing the test to make it into Haven, exactly the time when she needed to prove herself. It helped steel herself, hardening her heart, for the first emotion she accidentally tapped into was 'Cold'. At least it wasn't 'Indifference'. Her cold exterior helped her get over the more ardous parts, helped fortify her against the anxiety she felt during the test. Well, turns out Aurea was a good student, for she passed, easily making it into Haven. Honestly, not many students at that point had actually unlocked their Semblances, so that was a feat for her. School at Haven went a bit better, for Aurea had her Semblance to fall back on. She discovered her Semblance helped her unlock her other emotions, not just Cold.

Through school she steadily learned all the various forms of her Semblance, naming it the Emotion Spectrum. Her favorite to tap into was Courage, considering it's what she lacked the most. This is how she trained, how she got stronger, how she pushed through school. Aurea basically made it her default 'form', claiming it was her strongest. Anyway, she managed to make it through school at Haven. And after proving herself, Aurea became a capable Huntress.

After school, Aurae sought work. She wanted to help the youth of Mistral, especially those rascals from the lower class, who society saw as nothing more than unsavory hooligans, having experienced first hand how they were judged and treated. She went to teach in Sanctum first, but soon thereafter made her way to Haven, where she taught a rigorous class known as "Perseverance". Which had a unique training regime known simply as "Perseverance Training". That Aurea herself trained under, when she joined an elite group of Hunters/resses in Mistral. An unit sort of akin to an army unit known simply as the Sentinel, which she became a Captain in. She joined this group as soon as she started teaching Perseverance Training in Haven, since one has to have undergone this training to become a Sentinel. It is a special type of training that is made specifically to temper the hardest Aura in the world. It is a grueling class, that is tantamount to torture, but the students that come out of it usually end up quite happy with the results, boasting the strongest Auras in Remnant. Some join the Sentinels like Aurae. Aurae now acts as a Sentinel-Huntress full time, especially with the looming war with Atlas. She moonlights as a teacher of Perseverance Training in Haven.

Cybele
Cybele is a classy woman who thinks extremely high of herself. In another life she was actually born in Atlas. She is an excellent artist, despite believing largely in suppressing self-expression. She was the most verbally abusive of Aurae's parents, always having such impossibly high standards for her daughter.
Father: Athen
Athen is a master architect, having worked on some of the more elaborate structures within Mistral. He worked on a joint project with Cybele, and together the two fell in love. He is harsh on Aurae, but only because he thinks she has success in her future, and he desperately wants to see her succeed so he can be proud. His wife may have rubbed off on him over the years, adopting some of her mentality at the expense of Aurae.

Aura: Golden-Orange
Aurea's Aura is hard-tuned for combat, tempered to survive. As a Captain she has spent countless hours building up her Aura; think taking a hammer to a weapon on an anvil. Aurea has literally undergone intense "Perseverance Training". Where she simply endured attack after attack, to see what and how much she could endure before her Aura gave out. This is a special training, that helps in forging an Aura of iron, making her body a literal fortress: extremely difficult to penetrate.

Weapon: Idol and Aegis
"The Idol and the Aegis, two godly weapons, bestowed upon me; to safeguard this world from outrageous evil. One shines glory, the protecter, the blade, the Aegis. One punishes my foes, those treacherous sinners, their chains, their Idol."

The name of her weapon refers to the golden chains and the blade respectively. Idol is a lengthy golden chain said to connect to the gods, with a gilded appearance and a nasty spike at its end. Aurea is capable of whipping these chains around with pinpoint precision, never missing a single strike, like a deadly dance of gold. Slathering Dust over the chain lets it light up in a laser of Elemental power. Her chains are usually woven into her armor, and when infused with her Aura, she can willingly move them as if they were apart of her. Also, Aurea has a habit of 'grabbing' her sword with the chains and slashing it at ridiculous reaches. Speaking of her sword, Aegis is an elegantly crafted blade, always tempered as sharp as possible. There isn't really anything unique about this blade, other than the fact that it is perfectly balanced for Aurea, and she wields it as a master swordswoman. However, if you were to believe the legend surrounding Aegis, then it suggests there is a magic within that protects the wielder from harm.

Semblance: The Emotion Spectrum

Named 'The Emotion Spectrum', Aurea's Semblance is similar to Ren's (from actual RWBY). It allows her control over her own emotions. Any of them in fact. Using her Aura, she can empower herself with an empowered singular emotion. To be clear, each emotion seems to grant her some power that she wouldn't normally possess as a normal person. To go in depth on this Semblance's usefulness... Let's give a few examples. Note, as a courtesy for allies, Aurea will 'call out' the emotional buff she is giving herself.
Aurae can also infuse different Dust into her, while using her Semblance. Normally when she does this, she has a specific emotion in mind for a specific element. It is just easier to combine certain emotions and elements.
Courage: If Aurea isn't feeling completely up to the task at hand, she can empower herself with Courage, radiating strength and confidence. This allows her to take on anything before her, forgetting her misgivings entirely. With this boost in bravery, her parameters for combat in particular also increase, gaining quite the buff. Though courage is often considered a good thing, this can make Aurea act irrationally, because she no longer has any fears. -Sometimes fear is good. Regardless, Aurea claims Courage is her strongest form, no matter what anyone else says or claims.
  • Elemental Courage: The easiest elemental Dust for her to use with Courage is Fire Dust. It allows her to manifest powerful golden flames to accompany her attacks. This golden flame is more concentrated, allowing for precise strikes with it.
Anger: When necessary -such as if Courage isn't cutting it- Aurea can flip the switch glowing with a redhot radiance. When she becomes angry, Aurea will most likely not care about the situation at hand, taking whatever is before her head-on and into her own hands. As with Courage, Anger grants Aurea a significant 'stat' boost, as she is fueled by unbridled rage. She is stronger in 'Anger', but tends to act recklessly, even endangering friendlies on occasion. (The stronger form of this is called 'Fury'. The only distinction between them, is when Aurea calls them out before she uses her Semblance.)
  • Elemental Anger: Like Courage, the element of fire from Fire Dust is easier to use with Anger. Unlike with Courage, the flames that conjure around her are blazing red, and aid in extremely aggressive, reckless attacks. These flames are considered more dangerous, but that means they're more dangerous to her enemy, too.
Shy: Though not the best form her emotional Semblance can take, especially not in heated combat, it is one of her more useful ones. When Aurea empowers herself with Shy, she becomes a figment. One to somehow make herself smaller, meeker, less noticeable. Easily she can suddenly fade into the background.
  • Elemental Shy: When empowering Dust into her Semblance, Shy + Wind Dust morphs Aurea into a wispy form that allows her to nearly vanish. She is also nearly intangible in this form.
Fear: Not what you'd expect. When using this emotion, Aurea's presence becomes dark, and scary. Glowing purple, she exudes a new aura, that tends to scare away weaker foes. Fear is quite useful to Aurea, because it makes her opponents inherently second guess themselves, which equals easier fights. She finds openings that wouldn't normally be there. Fear is quite useful to making fights simply easier on Aurea, but it can have a negative effect on her after her Semblance has worn off.
  • Elemental Fear: The easier element to use is Shadow Dust, for pretty obvious reasons. Shadow Dust, in case you were wondering, is like the physical manipulation of dark or shadows, giving them weight enough to deal damage.
Dread: Needing its own mention, the stronger form of Fear is 'Dread'. Where Aurea's presence becomes blackened, and downright frightful. While a cloud of darkness envelops her, her eyes instead glow a bright red, similar to a Grimm. In this state, most back away, no longer thinking about fighting her, but instead considering running in fear. Some would call this the _'s most powerful form of her Semblance, but it has nasty side effects. Afterward, Aurea feels all the dark emotions she embraced to achieve such a form. It plagues her after, making her reclusive, sad, depressed. Friends have noted after using Dread -and even Fear- that Aurea can seem like a totally different person. Not one they wish to see again.
  • Elemental Dread: Shadow Dust doesn't appear to be necessary in Dread, because she seems to form her own darkness. However, the easier element to use with this form is Gravity Dust, granting Aurea some control over gravity. This truly may be her strongest form.
Happiness: One of her lesser used emotions, but no less effective. Aurea will glow brightly, like a warm sun. Anyone within her radiance will feel elation of some sort. Occasionally its effects aren't what she expects, but usually they are simply what it says on the tin: that it causes happiness. Making one's enemies into balls of joy can prove surprisingly effective. Coupled with Aurea's charm and wit, and she's actually diffused situations with this simple emotion, never even unsheathing her weapon. Sometimes she's feeling down, and simply needs a pick-me-up herself. Or a student will. Happiness comes in use then, too.
  • Elemental Happiness: Since this isn't really a combat emotion, Aurea doesn't need an element for it, but she has noted that Lightning Dust seems to combine easier with Happiness. Also, if she uses Fire Dust, she can produce pink flames, which is kinda fun.
Calm: As it suggests, sometimes the best way to handle any situation is to calm oneself. Serenity will befall Aurea, when she uses this emotion. A type of clarity washes over her, and she'll often sound a bit robotic, or emotionless entirely, when she speaks. In Calm, Aurea is able to gleam a better picture of what is around her. Though it has many practical uses -sometimes Aurea comes to class under Calm-, it is quite useful in battle. There are those that suggest Calm is her strongest form. Because when she is in Calm, she is in a Zen-like state. With her eyes wide-open, but not tired suffering from any type of over-exertion, Aurea will observe the battlefield down to the minutest detail. This allows her to react accordingly, with a swift agility that none of her other emotions seem to approach. Under Calm, it is almost like Aurea has a 'sixth sense' in battle, and is extremely difficult to hit at all.
  • Elemental Calm: Adding Wind Dust makes Aurea nigh-unhittable in battle, granting her a speed almost imperceptible to the eye, but does tend to make her strikes weaker. Though quicker, so there's a trade off there. Sometimes it comes down to preference for a specific fight, if Aurea wants to use Wind Dust with Calm or not.
Other Emotions: There are many many many many emotions out there; almost an infinite amount of them. Technically Aurea has access to all of them, these just tend to be the ones she uses the most often. Aurea can also use emotions that are similar, quiet similar, synonymous, or anything like that to any of these emotions, achieving basically the same effect as mentioned here. For instance, she can use 'Bravery' for Courage, or 'Relaxed' for Calm, and basically gain a similar effect. It just comes down to whatever Aurea is feeling like using/doing at any given time. These are her defaults, but she has been known to use synonyms, or other emotions for other uses. (If an emotion arises with a very wildly different effect, I will be sure to explain it out before.)
  • Elemental 'Other Emotions': This is getting redundant at this point, but Aurea can mix-and-match any emotion with any elemental Dust, technically, for different effects that my mind atm can't process or consider. I'll be sure to lay it all out, if I come up with something radically different than explained here.

Skills: Aurea has many skills. She has a well-toned body, for she spends quite a lot of time training, making her very physically fit. This makes her very quick, athletic, strong, and agile. She has skills for serious situations, out on the battlefield in combat, and during far more lighthearted ventures, such as during sports, sparring matches, or tests for her pupils. She understands weapons in and out. She knows how to properly balance them, how to craft them, and how to choose a particular weapon for a particular person. This effectively makes her a blacksmith and a weapon aficionado. When Aurea isn't suffering from her own insecurities, or when she is under the influence of her own Semblance, Aurea shows the skills of a leader. She is more than capable of commanding. Since she is so pinpoint accurate with her weapons, it suggests Aurea is quite the marksman. Due to her charm, Aurea is very personable, making her a leader that is easily relateable, demonstrating impressive people and social skills.
Strengths: As a leader, Aurea has many strengths. She is normally quite the charismatic Captain, leading with dignity, respect, and honor. As a strength, this style of leadership really makes those under her trust her, and they are easily relied upon to do as she asks. Aurea has been a full-fledged Huntress for awhile, so it goes without saying she is quite adept at combat, capable of clearing out entire hordes of Grimm effortlessly. Having trained in her 'Perseverance class', she has strengthened her Aura to a point many do not ever see, and fewer ever reach. She is a master class swordswoman, able to wield both Idol and Aegis with an explicable level of precision; her prowess with her weapon, Aura, and Semblance is at the highest peak it can be as a Huntress.
Weaknesses: Aurea's primary weakness is her lack of confidence when it really comes down to it; those insecurities that plague her inner person. She was a coward back then, and she remains one now. As a leader, Aurea has tried her hardest to bypass this weakness, trying her best to steel herself, but she cannot seem to shake her fear. In order to truly get passed it, Aurea falls back on her Semblance, which can overwrite her fear and cowardice. This is her second weakness: she simply relies too heavily on her Semblance to bail her out of treacherous situations she finds herself in. The bravery she often shows, is usually not quite her own. When under the influence of her Semblance, she is ruled by one primary emotion. This emotion often hinders her, making her quite narrow-sighted. In the case of Fear and Dread, Aurea is affected physically: her third weakness. After using this emotion, she comes out depressed, changed, hurting, and can often take quite some time to return to her proper form. Finally, Aurea has an issue with flattery, and suggestive talk from someone who seems interested in her. Not the worst weakness, but she can be very timid and weak-willed during times she is flustered.

Inspiration:
Aurea is inspired from two sources specifically. Alke. Who as mentioned, is a spirit personifying courage and battle strength from Greek myth. And, if you hadn't guessed since she's a Lion Faunus -the Cowardly Lion. Hence why a lot of her is tempering herself, emotionally (centralized around cowardice and courage), and becoming self-reliant, self-assured, and self-confident.

Interrogative Interview Summary:

Bistre shows little compassion for others, human or faunus. Her motives behind forming the Vacuo Utilitarian Effort are unknown. Bistre's recent years have been spent in federal prison, where she continued to gain a following inside and outside of her cell block. She's made it clear that she wants to serve her life sentence in peace, though she was thrilled to have been chosen for a leadership role in the fight against Atlas. Her love for war, leadership and conflict will serve well in the Vacuo militant force.



Weapon Recovery and Analysis:

Bistre's only recovered personal weapon was a large, explosive propelling device. No ammunition was recovered, but upon inspection four different trigger mechanisms were found on the weapon, leading specialists to believe it fires a grenade-type explosive, a highly powered rocket-type explosive, a mortar-type explosive,and standard dust rounds. The rocket and mortar rounds are loaded into the main barrel (one or the other at a time), grenade rounds are fed through handle guards, and standard dust rounds are held in magazines under the top railing. This will be returned to her upon her first mission.



Semblance Description:

Bistre calls her semblance visualisation. Many great minds in remnant history boasted a similar born trait, though not in a semblance form. Bistre claims to be able to visualise her attacks and their outcomes before they happen, both in long-term leadership states and short-term solo-fights. She can assess structural damage before she fires her rounds, making her a dangerous demolitions expert.



Likes and Dislikes:

Journals were recovered from Bistre's home in Vacuo that lead us to believe the following. Bistre enjoys romantic novels, dramatic television shows, storms, warm and wet climate, weak individuals and jazz music. She dislikes cocky personalities, martial arts, sitcoms, her assistant Null, and the current Vacuo government system.

Personality
Polite and sympathetic, Clancy greets others with a smile. If he sees someone who is troubled in any way, he will do his best to support the person and solve the problem they're facing, using his left and right brain as a team. He always tries to do the right thing no matter what.

His ability to change and get used to anything goes to absurd lengths. Though everyone knows him to be a kind person, their descriptions on what he's actually like varies so much to cause confusion on who he really is. Is Clancy a quiet man with deep thoughts? Is Clancy a talkative guy who chats up the whole room? He is both and neither. The best way to describe him is by calling him a chameleon. The man blends in with every situation - no one can be entirely sure if they truly know him. With how effortlessly Clancy switches personas, it can feel like every mask he wears has another underneath.

He doesn't know who he is, either. While outwardly in-control of his emotions, he often worries about his identity. Is the person that people respect a person at all? Or is he simply whatever they want him to be?
Backstory
Growing up as a people pleaser, Clancy had a relatively harmless childhood. If somebody asked him to do something, he'd do it. Anything to make people like him. Always acting in a way that he thought would appeal to others, he had many people he called friends...but still felt alone. There was never a sense of connection. Only shallow attempts to emulate such a thing. After a while, this began to drain on Clancy. The people person teen needed to have space to himself. Have time to just...reflect on things. Give a moment to be "selfish". Clancy went to a secluded part of the town's nearby forest , lost in thought underneath a tree until another person sat next to him. He had never seen this girl in his town before and quickly forced a smile on his face. The girl's only response was a frown. It was weird that somebody else went to this same spot to do the same thing he was doing - keeping to himself. He assumed her to be a new kid and gradually became used to her presence.

Their first actual conversation came far later. It was surprising that the seemingly mute girl was the one to initiate it. Asking him why he was so dishonest, he told her that he would rather lie to be liked than to be alone. She pointed out how futile that was - he would still be alone, just in a way that tricked him into thinking he wasn't. This silenced him.

Despite him thinking that she must have hated him for lying so much, she offered him a hand and asked if he wanted someone to talk to. It turned out that they both went to the same school. This was something he missed thanks to how little she spoke and he apologized for not noticing her. Overtime, Clancy had made a real friend to share his troubles with...even if it was mostly him talking and her listening. It didn't bother him that she rarely replied. He knew Violet was listening to every word.

After fast-forwarding from a typical education to finishing his huntsman training, she finally worked up the courage to ask him out. They stayed together for many years, though at times Clancy was confused at how she still said very little, even when they eventually got married with a kid on the way. Was she simply not as open as she told him to be? Asking her about it, she told him not to worry about it. Said that it was "how she always was." Time continued to pass. She became less and less talkative as the days went by. Assuring him that she was alright, things seemed that way for a while. She was going to be a mother and he was going to be a father.

And death took her away the same day his daughter was born.

How couldn't he have noticed it sooner? She was sick. So sick that she barely had the energy to open her mouth and say anything. He should have noticed this. He should have looked into it more. Knowing that she wouldn't like it if he spent his entire life mourning, Clancy pressed on with his life, taking care of his daughter who reminded him so much of his wife. Instead of giving up, he kept doing the best he could for the sake of his late spouse and his daughter. In the end, he ended up becoming a well-liked professor at Beacon and is praised for his skills in promoting teamwork. There were many teams thought of being impossible to get to do even small tasks, though Clancy never believed that there was an "impossible" and his ability to make them work together seems to promote his thinking. Those sort of teams were his favorite to work with, as there was something truly satisfying in seeing people who hated each other become close friends.

Being a mentor figure, helping others, seeing the good in things, overcoming difficult challenges, people, reading, learning, cheerfulness, creative ideas, experiencing new things, dry humor.
Dislikes
Mornings, being in pictures (he's not very photogenic and ends up frowning), team conflicts, seeing others lose hope, slipping into his habit of keeping his problems to himself for the sake of not bothering others.

Advanced Adaptation
Clancy can be thrown in all sorts of situations and come out unscathed, his body capable of morphing to handle what comes his way. His environment dictates what he can do. If it's dark, he acquires nightvision. Underwater? Grows gills and swims just fine. Pushed off a cliff? Sprouts wings. Fire danger? Fireproof. Essentially, Clancy's semblance ensures that he survives all sorts of things. However, this process is not instantaneous, taking moments to react to what is happening. Moreover, going against a quick opponent makes it hard for his body to toughen against hits, as he cannot adapt without being exposed to a something for a long enough time. Though Clancy's adaptations present him with many advantages, he will become weak in other areas. For example, he can become more stone-like after taking several hits to increase defense, but will move slower to strengthen said defense. Additionally, Clancy cannot command his semblance to adapt in a certain way. The only thing that controls it is exposure to certain things around him. He does have a good idea of what things result in what and will try to trigger certain results in combat, yet there are times where he has to get creative with what happens.
 

Troops


Troop characters can, and hopefully will, have diversity coming out the wazoo. Different ages, varying races and different reasons for being where they are. Unlike the leaders, who all have qualities that make them fit their job, the troops can be all over the place. They could've been drafted, their parents could've hated them so much they sent them to fight in a war; hell, they could've wandered onto the firing range. Diversity is the word of the day, here. Go nuts.

A lean, mean, rumbling machine. Iris has a body that at first glance can be described as scrawny. It doesn't look like much is there. He is skinny and his muscles are almost exclusively slow twitch, he's a body without a lot of mass. Iris is an over all messy person who doesn't care for appearance. Iris will let his finger nails grow out too long, his hair is always unkempt and wild, and his skin will have grass stains from three days ago. His overall disposition can be described as simply disheveled. His hands especially always seem to have a new cut or bruise by the day. Two large snow white ears adorn Iris head, courtesy of his Faunus blood. His human ears are located under his mess of hair, but are often obscured by the aforementioned hair or his headphones. His hair (contrary to the first picture) is light blue in color with snow white highlights adorning it randomly.

    Personalty
    Aloof is a good place to start when describing Iris. Lethargic would be the second best word. Followed shortly after by a nice long word: incomprehensible. At first Iris is nothing more then a moody teen. Distancing himself, acting hostile when provoked even a little, claiming humans are nothing more then stereos with volume as max: just a few of the things Iris is apt to do. He gives off the impression that he loathes all living beings just because they exist. Not the case. Iris hates noise. What is noise? Disjointed sounds, a person rambling without cause, discordant tones, or just loud things. To Iris, most people make noise, so he strays away. However one does not always stay a noise maker in Iris's mind.

    Iris warms up quick. Those who stay around him long enough often see a more agreeable side of Iris's personalty. Iris has the capacity to be a very kind and giving boy, giving being the key word. To Iris, giving is all he has. He would give arm and leg, blood and bone, without second thought. Living for others is something of an innate habit for Iris who has forgotten how to live for himself. He expects no thanks nor admiration, in fact he thinks of giving as a job, as work. Even when it's inconvenient or a drag Iris will always give to those he can stand being around because it's his job.

    Although Iris's better qualities come to light once one gets past his outer shell so do more of his negative traits. Iris doesn't know what to do with himself. If he's not doing someone for someone else then he is sleeping or peeping. But mostly he's just sleeping. He is lazy and slow to rouse into action. In any situation giving 50% is always good enough for Iris so long as a life isn't on the line. Iris moves though life with a jaded attitude. Most simple things don't garner emotional responses from Iris so he often feigns reactions for the sake of others. He is overly blunt with his words and seems to not understand the concept of "the truth hurts." If there is anything to glean, it's that Iris is not inherently an ass. He has flaws and unhealthy habits but hidden in that ruff somewhere is a diamond. Or at the very least really compressed coal that has yet to become a diamond.

    Strengths
    I Don't Need to Win, But I Won't Lose to You:
    Iris has never had the desire to be the best, he doesn't find it fulfilling to trump people in any given aspect. However there are those who inspire such feelings of anger within Iris that he is driven to best those he really truly hates. Not because he wishes to win, but because he wishes to see them lose. When Iris gets in this state it's hard to stop him, his pure drive and tenacity is often enough to breach the skill gap between him and his foe.​

    I've Gone Through Worse:
    Iris is numb. He isn't one to be easily fazed by physical or emotional trauma and has a tendency to bound back from hell or high water. His apathy towards pain is impressive, even more astounding then that is how calm Iris can be looking down at the face of danger. No matter what danger looms, or the horrors that stand before him, Iris will always be unshaken. Because frankly my dear, he doesn't give a damn.​

    Weaknesses
    Beaten to the Punch:
    Simply put, Iris is often the last one on the scene. He has trouble getting motivated and would rather stay in bed then engage in physical activities, believing them to be nothing more then a drag. He is lethargic more so then he is flat out refusing, only willing to meet the bare minimum most of the time then excel.​

    I Hate Everyone, Equally:
    Iris's aloofness comes from his disdain for most things. As other people are little more then noise makers to Iris he would rather spend as little time listening to them as possible. Most things go in one ear and out the other, as is Iris's will. He can be exceedingly difficult to work with. At best he will begrudgingly follow orders and at worst will ignore them completely.​

    Street Smart:
    Iris doesn't play by your mother's rules. Or most rules at all for that matter. In a fight, he's scrappy. During an operation, he's a loose cannon. In a strategy meeting, he's asleep. Iris has no home training, he is untactful in every way. He relies purely on instinct. In a fight this can be seen all too clearly as Iris is vicious yet sloppy. He's not a technical person, and so long as he gets results it doesn't matter how he got them.
    The Deaf Faunus:
    Being a Faunus Iris, by logic, would have all the genetic traits of his race. However this is not the case. Iris can be considered a deaf Faunus, as all he inherited was the looks. His senses are average, he doesn't have superior night vision and to top it off his ability to hear is even bellow average. To say Iris is losing his hearing wouldn't be far from the truth.​

A well feed theif is a rare sight to behold, and Cyrus is exaclty that. Mostly due to him stealing almost any piece of food he could find on the Mistral streets, earning him the nickname of "The Crimson Boar".


  • While not too fond of violence, it wouldn't be smart to not travel unprotected. Hence why Cyras carries around his revolver/knife combo weapon, Vulcan. Sure it's not a soldiers weapon, but it does it's job pretty well. Just don't ask if you can hold it. Cyrus doesn't take well to sharing.

    Semblance: Controlled Cells.
    Cyrus can control his cells (duh.) to grow and stretch. He can only really do this effectively with his arms and legs. He can also change the pigments of his skin to blend in to a background, like an octopus. Along with this, he has one last abilty. Regeneration. Given he has enough fat, he can heal an injury. The more major the injury, the more fat consumed.

Name: Pensworth...Just Pensworth.

Age: 15, as he keeps 'telling' everyone.

Height/Weight: 4'5/95lb

Body Type: One look at Pensworth and you're either concerned, creeped out, or both. The first thing one notices is that his face is obscured by a brown mask with a crude smiley face drawn with a red marker. His hair is extremely short, black and approximately one inch, yet there is a large wild tuft in the center that dangles over his mask. His body type is plumpish at best, and his skin is a light bronze color. There are multiple scratches, bruises, and scars all over his body and rumors have been spread that he hides his face due to an accident that happened years ago.

Personality: Pensworth is a boy of low-self esteem. When he looks into mirrors or finds people looking at him, he's depressed and inwardly berates himself. He's envious of people who are more attractive and/or hold themselves better than he does, sometimes even disliking them for awhile for that sole reason. And due to his experiences, while surviving on his own, he has grown to become untrusting of the 'Perfect' people. He keeps all these feelings to himself, however. His expression is always hidden behind the mask and he doesn't talk except for gestures, writing small sentences, or the occasional grunt. However, actions speak louder than words.

Despite his opinion of himself, he clings to a small hope that one day, he could make it so that the world could fit both people like him and the 'Perfects'. This hope is what drives him to survive and try to find someone who'd look at him like he was honestly worth something, willing to do no matter what it takes. He's determined and will become loyal to people, whether ugly or a perfect, that would give him a chance. Although, because of how rare that would be, the favors he would do for them and the things that he'd do to keep them are a bit...questionable.

Semblance: Pensworth has the ability to produce and manipulate a black sludge-like liquid from the pores of his skin. No one can pinpoint what it is, but they do know that it's scorching hot and incredibly sticky. The more he uses for his own use, the more his body tires before he is unable to move.

  • PERSONALITY
    Orpheus displays himself as a subdued individual - incapable of bringing out his opinions or true feelings onto the table unless truly needed. A social inept, Orpheus can often come off as cold or borderline rude in spite of his genuine intentions. Understanding this part of himself completely, Orpheus dodges conversation outright - ignoring any opportunities to voice his opinions or understanding his allies further. On the contrary to all this - and despite his unintentional aloof nature - Orpheus does possess a kind heart, even if he doesn't show it the majority of the time.

    Orpheus often lets his actions speak louder than his words. Assisting allies whenever he finds himself with nothing to do, or simply his battle performance. While not a professional as he's just begun military combat opposed to the scraps he's been in within highschool, Orpheus takes each skirmish with the utmost of seriousness, using combat as a strange voice of sorts for his inner motivations.

    He, in general, can easily be defined as a "silent hard-working" type, preferring to simply get the job done rather than engaging in casual banter or chatter with teammates or enemies. This can often lead him to a short fuse - especially in battle, being known to huff away to finish up missions by himself.

    Despite this, Orpheus' end goal is to consistently minimize deaths rather than finishing the mission. There are a few exceptions to this - such as if he knows if someone is already doomed, though they are extremely sparse.

    Friends of Orpheus can often see him as a distracted individual; he often looks as if something's troubling him, even if something isn't. Combined with this aversion to conversation, Orpheus can sometimes seem somewhat airheaded to others. Though, this is often due to this internal overreactions. He tends to only think of the worse case scenario, no matter how improbable that may be - making him a worry rat to the rest of his team.

Sinewy, well-pronounced muscles, constantly kept in perfect condition, averagely endowed, fit for combat.

SEMBLANCE
Twitch’s Semblance attunes its user to the world in their eyes, granting them immense focus. Twitch has been known to shoot projectiles, ranging from thrown weapons, explosive ordnances, other bullets, and even missiles right out of the air when using her Semblance. She has commented that things just seem slower to her in her vision. When in ‘the zone’ as she calls it, however, focus is of an utmost importance, forcing her to stay put in her position and stance. Repositioning or being interrupted at all in any manner will knock her out of her ‘zone’.

SKILLS:
Twitch reflexes, the source of her nickname, make her one of the most frightening marksmen in Vale’s military. She is known for her quick draw, as well as her ability to ‘snap’ to a target and pull the trigger in a matter of milliseconds.

Enhanced hearing also makes her a rather large threat in a quiet environment. Every breath her mark makes, every step they take, it only brings her scope closer to them.

Military training has given her quite the exposure to weapons, and can handle most non-specialist weapons (those used by leaders, especially) with proficiency.

STRENGTHS
Her skills make her an invaluable marksman on the field, and her ability with standard military weapons easily makes her a remarkable soldier to have handy.

She is easy to get along with, and responds to orders pretty well. She is mostly a rather agreeable person and is rather low maintenance as well for a comrade and friend.

WEAKNESSES
Loses one of her primary tracking senses in noisy places. She is also quite sensitive to loud noises, and even has to wear earplugs when walking around in crowded areas. While open spaces are still alright for her to fire in, enclosed rooms force her to suppress her guns, and wear earplugs, further diminishing her ability, though not by much.

She relies on her twitch reflexes too much, and cannot be deployed to places with non-hostiles for the sole reason that she may harm innocents out of reflex. She agrees wholeheartedly with this sentiment by her higher ups.

BACKSTORY
The general gist of it is fine. Soldiers need no backstories.

The Sharpshooter and the Gunner, Twitch and Chatter, Vera and Raven, twin sisters who chose the path of the military. One became a marksman for her troop, the other a machine gunner. Both of them rose in reputation in their respective arts, one as a marksman with few peers, and the other, a powerhouse of a Faunus who could shoot her machine gun single handedly (or so Vera says. It is quite clear she loves her sister to a point where she may over-exaggerate some points.). Both of them never pursued the life of a commander, and instead remained as combat troops, both of them seeking only the thrill of battle. When Atlas decided to bring war to the table, both sisters were quick to act on it. Vera now acts under the orders of the Vale commander, whomever they may be, while Raven reinforces the defenses.

RELATIONSHIPS:
Raven ‘Chatter’ Grenwald
A machine gunner posted to the defense of Vale and the twin sister of Vera Grenwald. Bulkier than Vera, and a lot more boisterous than her, too. While both sisters love battle, Raven more or less relishes it, and has more scars on her than Vera does to show for it. She is the younger twin. Nicknamed Chatter as a morbid joke about her machine gun fire.


The Grenwalds:
Unnamed parents of the Grenwald twins. It is unclear just who they are or how they were, but given by both twins’ sporadic comments on them, they were at least there for them when they grew up, and gave them a proper upbringing.


Clancy Preston
Twitch’s new commander. She has little exposure to him at this point, and has no comments on him at this point of time.

PERSONALITY
The epitome of the friendly sniper trope. Friendly, impressionable, and outgoing, Vera is as nice as nice can get in the military. She has a healthy sense of humor, and often tries to lighten the mood of her comrades whenever the cards are stacked against them, and is known for her rather optimistic outlook on things, as well hs how she can put a positive spin on any situation at all.

That having been said, Twitch is also a remarkably efficient sharpshooter who does not hesitate when she pulls the trigger. While she has not given comments to affirm it, in the heat of a firefight, she has a look not unsimilar to her twin’s: one of bliss. She thrives in the field of combat, the adrenaline rush that the feeling of being so close to death gives her is unattainable in any other situation.

Personality Evaluation: Disobedient, unruly, reliable, brave. Sino does not take well to being ordered around and he is very defiant towards anyone he decides that he doesn't like. However when treated fairly he is much more compliant. He is generally upbeat and performs his work cheerfully, even when fighting. He is confident in his abilities on the ground and in the air. It is also not advisable to get in front of him if he starts playing Fortunate Son. He loves classic rock.

Personal Background: Sino was born in a settlement on the border between Vacuo and Atlas known as Hue, to a military family. He signed with the Atlas aircorps and went through schooling to be a fighter pilot but was bumped down to transport pilot for brawling. He flew Bullhead transports for 3 years before a milk-run to a CCT relay station went awry when Hue, which was nearby, called for help. Sino was instructed not to deviate as he was technically in Vacuo territory. Not willing to abandon his family, he disobeyed orders and flew in to help. He found the settlement under siege by Nevermores and Beringels. There wasn't much his unarmed transport could do so he settled for opening the throttle and ramming the Nevermores mid-air. He did the same to the Beringels on the ground, often flying so low, he clipped the tops of buildings. At one point he even popped his cockpit hatch and shot at them with his sidearm. He succeeded in buying enough time for the surviving settlers to escape and returned to Atlas. His transport however, was damaged beyond repair.

Immediately upon returning, he was arrested for disobeying orders and reckless flying. Knowing they would never let him fly again, he broke out of custody and escaped using an old mothballed aircraft from Atlas' inventory. He flew to Vacuo to escape the law and became a freelance pilot. He had to scrounge for food and was basically homeless had he not had his aircraft. As he grew desperate for lien he turned to doing less legitimate jobs that only became more and more illegal. When he put together the cash to weaponize the aircraft, he flew out into the wilds where he began doing mercenary work. Protecting villages that hired him from bandits and grimm, transporting goods and other jobs that he could be useful for. Recently, he's come under the employment of the VUE as the conflict with Atlas demanded experienced pilots. He is currently based out of a large village in northern Vacuo territory.


Sinos bird, "Blood Hound", A relic from the armory of post-war Atlas, this aircraft is very old, but it is still a highly capable VTOL transport and ground attack platform. He has repainted it from Atlas's typical slate white to an olive green. For conventional weaponry the aircraft sports a 30mm cannon, 26 40mm rockets and 8 SACLOS missiles. In addition it has been equipped with 2700 watt speakers that Sino uses to broadcast music while flying. All bought off the black market. It can carry up to 12 passengers.

Azure Sven

Personality: Strong and determined, Azure doesn't back down from a challenge! She loves to test her limits and try new things. Though she may be mute, she makes up for it with her rather boisterous and overtly friendly personality. She tends to make friends easily despite her disability as she has a strong instinct on how to act in social situations. Always quick with a joke through the clever use of her chalkboard, she finds great joy in making people happy. In her free time Azure loves to spar, the thrill of a good duel is just something she can't get enough of and as such she's always looking for more competent partners. Though sparing is her main way of relaxing she does enjoy some "lighter hobbies" she greatly enjoys listening to music and finds herself drawn to those with the ability to play, though she's never been able to properly learn an instrument herself. She also loves to draw and often spends time doodling on her little chalkboard when she's bored.

In combat, her normally pleasant and casual demeanor gives way to a more stoic and serious one. Azure is always the first one in and last to leave a battle, always willing to risk life and limb for another. She's known to be protective of her teammates to a fault, taking great personal risks to ensure their safety.

Backstory: The day of Azure's birth was of some celebration. A bouncing, healthy baby girl born to Jet and Amber Sven. The first few years of the girls life went by fairly well, the Sven family boosted a long line of expert huntsmen and huntresses, Jet and Amber being no exception. Because of this the two of them were able to afford quite a few luxuries for her. Though, as Azure grew older the two parents began to notice that she just... wasn't speaking... The doctors confirmed their suspicions finding Azure's vocal chords had formed in a strange way, rendering her unable to speak. Aphonia it was called, a medical condition that renders the patient completely unable to produce voiced sound. The girls parents were, rightfully distraught, not only was their daughter suffering from such a horrible condition, but no doubt this would severely hurt her chances towards becoming a huntress!

The two weren't easily deterred though, and so they worked to find a work around, they paid for expensive lessons to teach their child how to speak through the use of sign language, as well as getting the child a small chalkboard, teaching her how to write so that she could be understood by others who weren't familiar with sign. Azure didn't take well to the lessons initially, but with a great deal of work the child was soon able to write and sign properly, going as far as to hold entire conversations with either method. Thanks to her newfound ability to communicate with others with only marginal issues, Asure's chances of becoming a huntress were looking better, though administration at Signal Academy was still apprehensive on allowing her to join their ranks. Azure though, inheriting her families trademark stubbornness was reluctant to give up, and was given a chance by Signal Academy at their initiation, which she passed through determined practice and study.

Azure worked studiously through Signal Academy, then Beacon in what she considers to be the best years of her life. The girl loved her time at the academies, the people all working towards the same goal as her, the ever helpful instructors who would set aside time to help troubled students, and the competition... oh how she loved the competition, the thrill and adrenaline of sparring another student. She didn't care weather she won or lost, she just loved the thrill of a fun fight. The academies were a place where the young huntress really thrived socially and academically and when her four years were up Azure and her teammates graduated as fully fledged huntsmen and huntresses!

Only a year afterwards was when Atlas attacked.. Azure and her team had been operating in the kingdom at the time, and they suddenly found themselves being hunted down in the forest outside the kingdom being picked off one by one. They made a desperate escape attempt, hoping to commandeer an airship and make a swift return home, but the Atlas military was much too strong, and fighting on their own territory meant they had almost no chance. One by one team members were picked off in their desperate bid for escape until only Azure was left. Through careful use of her Semblance she managed to avoid detection in the forest, creating a barrier over herself with ice dust to hide her heat signature and avoid detection. The following day she manged to creep through the forest and sneak onto an airship, eventually arriving home at Vale. Bitter and angry over the loss of her friends Azure joined the resistance effort without a second thought.

Semblance:
-hard light barriers: Azure uses her aura to create translucent azure barriers anywhere within a 10 foot radius of her. The barriers are completely solid on both sides and take quite a bit of punishment before going down, roughly the equivalent to a 1 foot thick stone wall. Azure can shape and orient the barriers to her will, though larger, more complex barriers take more aura, and take longer to form. The barriers anchor themselves in the air, allowing them to work as effective bridges though they will break with enough weight. Lastly Azure can cancel the barriers at will.

Azure's barriers change in property when combined with dust, some of the more useful examples include:
-Air: Allows her barriers to be passed through, but the passer is launched in their current direction at incredible speeds.
-Fire: Rather simple, yet extremely effective, sets the barrier ablaze in order to damage those that touch it.
-Ice: turns her barrier to ice, not incredibly useful but can be used for an impromptu slippery surface, or to hide ones heat signature from things that could detect it.
-Earth: strengthens her barriers integrity immensely.
-Gravity: Allows anyone to stand on the surface of her barrier no matter it's orientation (EX: a teammate could stand on the underside of a light bridge)

Nearly is a petite woman who resembles something between a pixie and a forest elf. Most of her limbs are small and thin, but not quite lanky, even if she's been called it before. Her torso is slim and thin and her chest is small and humbling. Her hips, however are wider than most, and definitely more than you'd expect from someone her size. Her thighs are wider and her legs, following suit on the pattern of her torso, dwindle off to her small calves and even tinier feet. Her muscles are not toned, but are more lithe and can only really be defined when she's exerting enough physical energy for them to be useful. Her face, heart shaped gives her a childlike appearance in some ways. Her cheeks are full and her eyes large. Her chin and nose are sharp and pointed, delivering upon her, for the most part, the appearance of a pixie. Her skin is, on a good day fair, and on most other days, pale. A swathe of freckles is spattered across her nose and on the tops of her shoulders. Her lips are a pale pink and when she blushes its most prominent in the tips of her ears and nose.

Persona

Although, small and somewhat seemingly harmless, Nearly is a force to be reckoned with. Her dainty fingers won't be the things to leave wounds, but instead her steely glare and biting tone. One of Nearly's biggest flaws and blessings is her inability to hold back. She speaks her mind freely and with reckless abandon, no matter the feelings she hurts or the gaping mouths left in her wake. It might even be said that she gets a small amount of pleasure from the reactions she gets when she speaks how she pleases. Her tone is sharp, and somehow simultaneously indifferent. It's rare she puts actual, real emotions into much of what she says, so don't expect her voice to drip with anything but sarcasm. Feelings are somewhat of an annoyance and best left in some cage somewhere deep inside. Why feed the beast, right?

Stubborn wouldn't be a correct way to describe what she is exactly. Stubbornness means the person fights for the decision they have made. There is no fighting Nearly. Most of the time, this stubbornness only affects decisions pertaining to herself directly and indirectly. But if there ever is the chance she's made a decision and you and her are on opposing sides, just know nothing is off limits to her. Holding a broken bottle to your throat doesn't cross her line of "too much" or "over the top".

Nearly surrounds herself with life's pleasures simply because her logic finds no other feasible option. Why shouldn't somebody enjoy something so fallible? Especially when it can dissipate within minutes and there's nothing you could do about it? Enjoy it while you can, she says. One of those things Nearly enjoys though, is knowledge. "Nerd" is an understatement with this girl. She's a sponge for facts important and unimportant galore. Her forte is computers and programming and she's something of a journalist and photographer in her free time, if it suits her. For the most part, she's put those hobbies behind her, but you might find her snapping a picture or scribbling away in a journal from time to time. Predicting enemy tactics is another one of her skills. Beating her in chess is nearly impossible and her favorite games involve manipulation at anothers expense. At this point, lying, manipulating, and sarcasm come so freely, it's hard to even tell if she does it on purpose anymore.

Nearly, despite being so crude, is a free spirit. Being told what to do is one of her pet peeves, so don't expect her to jump to complete any task you have for her. Rebellion is one of her favorite things, the history and action of. Among that, she choses to hang around those that entertain her. Boredom is not one of life's pleasure and she'll avoid it if possible.

Nearly is somewhat of an anti-prude too. What may be flattering to some, may insult others, but she calls it as she sees it anyway.

// Semblance //

"Molly" : As Nearly likes to call it, is the ability to induce some of the same side effects into a person or group of people with symptoms akin to somebody taking drugs. Things like headaches, intense colors/warped vision, intoxication, and delusions can ensue from the use of this ability. It's most potent when centered on one individual and the effects become less and less with more people this effect is centered on. It isn't necessarily a bad feeling, usually rendering people incapable, but pretty happy.
Bad Trip : This effect is a dual edged blade and the more effective it is on somebody else, the more it affects Nearly as well. It can be said, her and her enemies kind of go on the trip together. Nearly is better at riding it out while it's going on, and in some ways it helps her, but it still impedes on focus and reflexes as would any drug. The only difference is when the effect fades for somebody else, it leaves them with nothing, whereas Nearly has something of a hangover when it fades for her. This can leave her more sluggish, with headaches, dizzy, and a bit irritable.
"Party Time!" : Nearly can spread this effect more potently if she chooses to do so in a general vicinity. This will affect all allies and enemies alike in the area, whereas the allies receiving the affect have something of a small awareness and speed boost. When the effect wears off, everyone is left as they were before and Nearly is immediately incapacitated.

PERSONALITY: Once a rich kid who took everything for granted, Oliver used to be a cocky and arrogant kid who believed he was the center of the world. He acted like the typical rich and spoiled snob that people didn't want to see from people of his class in society. He didn't know the meaning of the word "responsibility" and regarded integrity as a joke. After his accident, he started seeing everything in a whole new light.



He took nothing for granted anymore, including the family he had blown off for most of his life. He devoted more of his time to studies, being friendlier, just all around being a better person. Although, he had developed a particular dislike of people who went against society and the law. He absolutely hates people who can't live peacefully and choose to break the law of their own free will. He is determined to keep others safe, but tries not to get himself killed in the process.

He saw them as heroes, and they taught him how to fight so he wouldn't lose anyone else again. He learned how to use a bow as well, and a few martial arts tricks that he trained to improve upon. After returning back to his family, they moved again, this time to Vale. The feeling of hate that he harbored for criminals grew everyday that he woke up to not seeing his father. If he wanted to lessen the illegal activity in Vale, though, he'd need skills. Skills he couldn't teach himself. Skills he could only learn from experience.

Haven't heard too much from the GM in a while, and along with that the roleplay has been moving at a speed of a sleep deprived slug. Don't let that get you down too much, just wanted to tell you if Calm doesn't get back to you.
