Realistic or Modern Running into Oblivion

Three subjects, created by a scientific discovery in which humans could be born without a mother's womb and were able to be genetically modified. This in turn would enable humans to be infused with other genetic species, giving them incredible abilities.

However, many attempts have failed, and scientists began to give up. Well, until 3 test subjects actually lived. As they grew up, they were trained to become something great, while also being forced to believe they were normal. After too many unanswered questions, and the inability to live a normal life, they plotted a plan, and escaped.

Now, three super genetically modified teens are out on the streets, having no knowledge of what the outside world is like.

"Guys, we're free!" Kyrian shouted. He didn't know what to do, as he was full of excitement. He ran around in circles, not thinking about how they weren't really free. Not even close.

They may be out of the prison-like building they have been trapped in for so long, but they were already being hunted down by the security team.

Once Kyrian realized that he was going to get them caught, and have to go back, he tackled his friends. "
Shush. Guys, don't you know we need to be quiet or they will catch us? Calm down!" He couldn't help but burst out in laughter.

Nighttime--past midnight--was when the trio had escaped the horrid science facility. Years and years after being experimented on, practically tortured, they were finally outside with no leashes tied around their throats. Restricting them . . . choking them. They could finally breathe now. Scarlett hoped this wasn't too good to be true. Kyrian expressed his giddiness and practically tackled her and Misa then told them to be quiet--even though he was causing the noise.

Scarlett glanced around vigilantly, the adrenaline still pumping through her veins. But she was smiling, ever so faintly in the dark. Had they really done it? Escaped? They received a few minor scratches here and there, but nothing to be extremely worried about. "We . . . did it," Scarlett said.

Misa giggled at her energetic friend. She was high on happiness as well but realized faster than her friend that he had to wait to act on it. Though that doesn't mean he could control it well. His powers were going crazy. His appearance kept changing and he just wanted to sing. He had hated that place and their mean collar. She smiled at Scarlett happy 2 see a smile on her face.

He got off of them and looked around, trying to see if anyone was following their trail. After a minute of scouting, Kyrian heard rustling in the bushes and freaked out. "Oh no, they've found us... We should fly away before they get us!" He whispered.

Misa heard it to and was worried about it. His appearance even stopped changing leaving him a small red headed neko. He nodded agreeing with Kyrian as he instinctively latched onto his leg in fright hearing the sound again. Later if they made it out of this as free teens hed totally deny being so frightened his claws sunk into Kyrians leg. Or claim it was an accident.

After acknowledging the strange noise, Scarlett looked down at her hands. Taking a deep breath to concentrate, she threw her hands towards the source of the noise, at the bushes. As if responding to her, the plant life began to move on its own. Thick vines quickly ascended from the soil, entrapping who or whatever had been following them, like a snake coiling around prey. Scarlett mentally commanded the vines to show what it was that they captured.

But it turned out to be a helpless, wild bunny. Discovering this, Scarlett immediately released the rabbit by making the vines gently place it on the ground. The rabbit, whose fur was peppery and brown, sniffed the grass and was still breathing rapidly. Scarlett sighed with relief. "Oh . . . Just a rabbit." The brunette grinned. Climbing onto Kyrian's back in prepared for his flight, she added, "Come on. Let's hurry up and get out of this mess."

"Heh, you guys got scared over a bunny!" Kyrian began to feel a sharp pain in his leg. He laughed once more, trying to ignore it. He closed his eyes, ad imagined he was a bird. It took him a minute of pure concentration, but eventually he was able to gradually go higher ad higher into the air. "You guys ready?" Before they could respond, Kyrian zoomed at high speeds, going higher and faster than he ever believed possible.

Now, above the clouds, he slowed down to get a view of this new world. The moon reflected off the clouds as he breathed in the fresh air. He was in awe, now believing they could now be 'normal.' "It's wonderful, isn't it?"

Startled Misa hissed at Kyrian claws digging deeper into his leg as he wrapped his legs around it. Now stable he looked around in awe breathing in the fresh air.

'Is this the world we are going 2 live in now?' He wondered.'If so I'm never going back to that isolated lab. I want to be free.'

Misa, cut it out, will ya? That hurts! Kyrian stopped himself from ruining the moment. "Yes Misa, this our new life. No more experiments. No more isolation. We are free to do as we please. As long as we stick together." Kyrian felt his first experience of true happiness, not the artificial fake crap he was used to feeling. He was ready to begin a new life with them.

Misa stuck his tongue out at him but let go. He began falling backwards as his appearance started to change again leaving a hawk in his place. Flying up he flew around his friends in a mocking circle as his sharp eyes took in everything around him. This world was just so beautiful.

Kyrian abruptly took off into the sky before they could confirm they were ready--but both of them held on. As the night's wind ran through Scarlett's hair and kissed her face, she smiled. The full moon shone its silvery glow upon them, tracing their silhouettes and bidding them a safe journey.

The finality of the trio's actions caused this unfamiliar but satisfying feeling to grow inside Scarlett's very being: the sense of freedom. We did it, Scarlett thought once more, as if repeating those words would convince this was not a dream.

"Yes, Misa, this is our new life," Kyrian said, "No more experiments. No more isolation. We are free to do as we please. As long as we stick together."

"That's right," Scarlett included. "It may be overwhelming, but we'll discover the world. Together." She closed her eyes, basking in the irreplaceable sensation that flying offered. She wasn't afraid of heights--in fact, she loved them. Overlooking a vast landscape, like in this moment, was wonderful.

Misa released his hold on Kyrian's leg, but shapeshifted into a hawk himself, so that he was also flying. Scarlett laughed merrily. "Now you guys are just showing off," she exclaimed. "I can't fly!"

"Cheer up Scar, we're just cooler than you. Haha."

He didn't realize it yet, but he was really tired, and ready to rest. He lowered himself, hoping they could find somewhere they could sleep and maybe even call home. After a while longer, they flew over a large city. "Should this be our new home? It looks so pretty..." Kyrian was mesmerized by the bright and colorful lights.

Misa didn't bother to transform to answer with words. Instead he flew past and closer to the bright city enchanted with its bright lights and tall buildings. He was so tired from all that's happened he probably couldn't transform if he wanted to.

The trio had been flying for what felt like hours, and even though Scarlett had only been a passenger on this flight, she felt exhausted. The dazzling lights emitting from the city below them was a magnificent promise of the haven they have never seen with their eyes. It looks . . . magical, Scarlett realized. She pointed downward at the more secluded area of the city, where the forests flowed into the civilization.

"Let's land down there," she suggested. Scarlett knew they would have to do their best not to be spotted, so landing out in the open wasn't the greatest idea in her book. She wondered what the three of them would do from here on out. Hopefully find a place of our own, Scarlett answered herself. The strange trio descended onto the sweet earth, and Scarlett climbed off of Kyrian's back.

Kyrian allowed Scarlett to get off his back. They were in a park, which separated both the forested area and the city from each other. Now, on solid ground, Kyrian was finally able to mend the wound on his leg caused by Misa. "Well, I'm hungry. How about you guys? Pizza anyone? Well, then it's settled. Let's go find Pizza!!!!" Kyrian, now becoming very exhausted, sat down on a park bench. "But first, I would like to sleep." He smiled and began to dream about what their new life is going to be like.

Misa transformed into a purple haired teenage girl as he land and blinked in slight shock at Kyrians fast actions. Shrugging it off he sat beside the bench and leaned against it to begin dreaming himself. For now they were free and to keep that freedom they would need lots of energy.

Scarlett tapped her chin in consideration while she looked upon her sleeping friends. What's missing . . . ? Realizing the answer, Scarlett lifted her hand and manipulated the earth around them. Arising from the ground came a long line of elm leaves, one after the other, and sewing themselves together to form a blanket.

Scarlett did this three times, constructing leaf-blankets for everyone. In turn, she placed the blankets over Misa, and then Kyrian, giving them a small smile as she did so. Then the brunette lied down in the grass with her own leaf-blanket. Almost unconsciously, she formed a soft bed of moss underneath herself--a makeshift mattress.

"Goodnight," she said.

~~~~~~
Kyrian awoke to the intense light given by the sunrise. People were walking past them, making strange and awkward looks towards him and the others. "Guys... You up?" He rubbed his eyes and stretched, slowly preparing himself for the first day of their new life.
A patch of morning sunlight struck Scarlett's face. The brunette, whose hair was untamed and disheveled, was infested with various cowlicks. She grumbled whilst regaining her senses, and peeked through her lengthy eyelashes. "Guys... You up?" She first saw Kyrian, who was sitting upright against the back of the wooden bench.
"I am," Scarlett groggily said. She wasn't a morning person. At all.
Scarlett ruffled the back of her hair, combing through the locks of her hair and found some tangles. She stretched, whilst noticing the strangers' faces that walked past--they were looking at the trio very unusually. Probably... Because of the blankets. Scarlett paid them no mind, and instead she focused on her friends. "Misa?" The brunette reached out and poked his arm, multiple times. "C'mon. Get up."
"I don't want tooo." Misa whined eyes still closed. He lazily tugged the soft thing covering him up over his head to try and block the piercing sunlight that seemed intent on burning a hole in his skull while also trying to ignore Scarlett constantly shaking him. He was not a morning person at all.
Giving a lengthy sigh, Kyrian stood up. Being his normal, out-going and knowledge craving self, he looked around and tried to introduce himself to the strangers walking a past them. "Hi! My name is Kyrian, what's yours?" He began asking around. Most of them would ignore his attempt at conversation with the outside world, but occasionally they would respond.
Now, beginning to give up, he sat back down on the bench. At that moment he remembered his ravenous appetite. Kyrian looked at the others.
"Can we go eat now?"
Knowing Scarlett would receive that very response from Misa, she sighed. "Hey, I'm tired too, but we gotta get up. We have to eat. And find a place to stay." Scarlett continued to poke at Misa and shake his shoulders. When those attempts were unsuccessful, she considered a different path to take. "Okay, fine... Since you're gonna be that way...." The brunette rose from her moss-mattress, grabbed Misa by his waist--almost in the form of a hug--but she put him over her shoulder like he was nothing more than featherweight.
Which Misa was. For Scarlett, anyway. Though her friend's shapeshifting forms could be heavier than the one he was occupying now, Scarlett's enhanced strength could still lift his different sizes. She looked at Kyrian, who was now absent from the spot he was once in. She realized he was trying to make conversation with the strangers but was evidently failing. She understood his attempts, however.
Kyrian returned to bench, with a subtle look of defeat on his face. He questioned, "Can we go eat now?"
"Actually," the brunette answered, "that's just what I was talking about. I can make some fruits and veggies for us." When she named this suggestion, she meant it quite literally--her plant manipulation also included the growth of edible, organic items.
"AHHH SCARLETT LET ME DOWN!" Misa wailed pounding angrily on her back as he got a face full of sunlight. He absolutely despised Scarlett and her damn strength in times like these. Even if it was amusing when she used it against Kyrian.
Gen made his way across the city looking around for anything out of the ordinary. He recently heard that some children had escaped from the organization's lab and were somewhere in the area. Luckily for him he still had some friends in the organization who gave him a radar to alert him if any were near. He had been walking for a few minutes ago and has covered at least half of the area. As he continued to search for them he noticed that it was already morning. He sighed and looked up as the sun rose. He stopped as his stomach growled and decided to grab a bite to eat. He walked over to a bakery and bought a assortment of bread and pastries. He was on his way home where he heard some loud shouting in the park area. His radar beeped loudly, he pulled it out and crunched it in his hand. He turned and looked at the others.
