—PERSONALITY.

Mary loves her country above all else, even though she only lived there for the first three years of her life. To those she loves, she will never betray, and they come before her own needs. She is kind, and brave, strange things for a queen. She is not haughty, nor does she use her station to lord over people. She is smart, and a bit quick tempered. She is not afraid to do what needs to be done for her country.

Mary is tall for a girl, especially during this time period. She has dark brown hair, brown eyes, and two dimples. She is lovely, and has pale, even skin.

Mary is a devout Catholic, but has always been tolerant of other religions, something not many can claim. She has a great fear of the Pagans, whom she thinks blood thirsty and cruel. She feels trapped in this political alliance, because at first, Francis does not love her, and she does not believe she should marry a man whom she doesn’t love.

Mary became queen of Scotland when she was just three, her mother, Marie de Guise acting as her regent. She was sent to France when she was six for her own protection, and a political alliance was made, promising that Mary would marry Francis, the Dauphin of France when they were of age. After several threats to her safety, she was sent to a convent in France, where she would remain until called upon.

He is the eldest son of Henry II and Catherine de' Medici, and is set to inherit the French throne, as well as the Scottish one when he marries Mary. Before Mary came back to French court, he thought he could marry Olivia D’Amencourt, his first love. When Mary returns, Olivia is sent off to marry another, leaving Francis heart broken and bitter.

Francis is kind, smart, and everything a crown prince should be. He is loyal to his country, but tends to be ruled by jealousy. He is funny, and not at all arrogant or haughty. He believes that Mary should do what is right for her country, even if it means he loses her. He doesn’t believe in Nostradamus’s predictions.

Kal was born in Northern France by two unknown parents. Before the age of two, Kal eventually found himself living in an orphanage, being raised by a Mr. and Mrs. Aguillard. Kal lived there until two months after his eighth birthday, when they both died of mysterious circumstances. Kal was then in the care of a pastor named Nik, the brother of Mr. Aguillard. Due to the traumatic nature of Mr. and Mrs. Aguillard’s deaths, Kal was self-mute until the age of 13. By now, it was too late for Kal to learn how to read or write, but it never set him back. Kal didn’t go to school, but he did volunteer to help at the local schools, assisting teachers with younger students. Kal didn’t help with older kids, they intimidated him. Nearing his 14th birthday, Kal disappeared off of the grid for a while, popping into his village off and on to help out and say hello. By 18, Kal returned, but mostly to practice sword techniques in the forest nearest the church. At 19, Kal finally moved to the royal court of France. There, he met his wife; and eventually, had his son. Kal found himself in the mining industry, typically pulling up different types of gems and stones; he made his living off of this, selling them off for low prices. He sells just enough to get by. He sometimes comes off as a punk, but is an overall sweet person if you know him well. Kal usually uses his sword to intimidate people who’re belittling others, trying his best to defend people who can’t defend themselves.

【vices】— Kal just about speaks his mind. He’s not used to heavy authority figures, and often disregards the fact that he can get in trouble for the things he says. He doesn’t speak rudely of others, but will speak his mind on controversial topics.

【virtues】— Kal takes high regard for the people around him, even those he isn’t close to. He is highly chivalrous and is often seen playing with young children; he is seen as a ‘big brother’ by the children of his village. He’s good at keeping a cool head in stressful situations and keeping others calm as well.

【fatal flaw】— Kal is one to give many chances to people, even those who don’t deserve it. He hesitates in scenarios when he needs to fight, usually ending up in a loss for him. He takes it heavily on himself when he messes up, and he tried to shut himself out from other people in the fear he will mess up again.

【happiest memory】— Kal’s happiest memory is when he was 7 years old, living in the orphanage with Mr. and Mrs. Aguillard, it was his birthday, and it was then he First met Pastor Nik.

Kal is a short man, standing at around 5’3. He was born with jet black hair and light blue eyes, which he accompanies with glasses for his poor eyesight. He has somewhat light skin and pink lips, along with a roman nose. Kal has subtle facial hair above his mouth, seperated from a thick patch on his chin. Kal typically wears a black dress shirt covered with a medium blue jacket; he pairs this with white pants tucked into under-the-knee black boots, along with a red scarf he was given to by a friend. Kal, on occasion, wears a red, bucket-like hand with a black band; the brim of the hat is usually folded up in the middle, where it splits in half. Kal’s hair is usually tucked back into a ponytail in the back. Kal can occasionally be seen with a sheath around his right thigh, where he keeps his sword.
