BIO: Once upon a time in a land not so far away, a fair-skinned, blue-eyed boy was born to Vittoria and Ulric Elyot. Kicking and screaming, the assistant that helped deliver the baby tried to place the newborn in his mother's arms, but she hadn't been strong enough to endure labor, and tragically passed after giving birth.

Through years of grief and mourning, Ulric brought up his son with bedtime stories about his mother and the story of how they'd fallen in love, how there would never be another woman for him again and though she was no longer with them, he would forever be devoted to her in his heart. Despite the heartbreaking loss of Vittoria, Ulric gave Cedric the best childhood he could in a beautiful home with a big garden and their dog Walter to keep him company.

Ulric Elyot was a rich man, but he was not materialistic. Though he appreciated luxury, he wanted his son to be educated and intelligent, and so from the ages of six to twelve, Cedric was homeschooled on subjects such as history, mathematics, English and geography. It was in this time during Cedric's early pre-teen years that his father met a middle-class woman by the name of Beatrix Tremaine, or as she referred to herself, Lady Tremaine. After only two months of seeing each other, they announced their engagement and it was then that Cedric was foced to meet his new step sisters, Anastasia and Drizella.

Cedric was devastated at hearing his father's news, he felt betrayed and lied to, all those years of being told stories about true love, only to crush it completely. And if that wasn't horrible enough, his soon-to-be step sisters were cruel, and he had no doubt that when Lady Tremaine wasn't wearing a skin tight smile and coughing up her manipulative laughter, greedy for his father's fortune, she was the same.

Two years after their marriage, misfortune striked again as Ulric fell deeply ill.

Cedric sought out every doctor in the country, every possible and available medicine and spent the next few weeks constantly by his father's side, bringing him water and nourishment, but every day he only got worse and despite nonstop doctor's visits, they simply couldn't figure out what was wrong with him and soon enough, he passed away. After that day, Cedric was put under the control of Lady Tremaine and his step sister's demands. Scrubbing floors, dusting the house, washing their clothes, cleaning the windows, Cedric eventually went from being a part of the family household to being submitted down to a dirty, grimy slave at the hands of his wicked stepmother. It wasn't long before Cedric had his clothes replaced with rags and the little belongings he had left were thrown into a dusty attic filled with rats. Cedric became hopeless, and spent the next years doing Lady Tremaine's bidding.

That was until, he heard about the rose quartz.

The idea that the pain and hurt in one's heart could be healed through a pretty stone was bizzare to the boy, but at this point he had nothing more to lose, and desperation had taken over. Weeks worth of scrapping coins and spare change, Cedric had finally gathered enough money to purchase a rose quartz pendant, and has been wearing it ever since. Until now, the disappointment still resides within him, and with every day he begins to doubt more and more the myth of the rose quartz.

biography

Compared to the rest of the land, foreigners would consider Emaorie to be one of the greatest places when it came to opportunity. Many would travel to the kingdom and establish their own form of wealth, and while most were unlucky in their advancements, the Schröder family was fortunate enough to strike it rich thanks to the selling of wine that the royalty caught interest in. Once their alcohol got it's seal of approval, the Schröder family became one of the most well-known names in the wine industry. Dubbed Wolfgang after the grapes they fermented the alcohol with, the Schröder's flew up the ranks and were considered members of the ruling class. Two-hundred years later, and the same position still stands proudly with the wealthy family.

The latest prodigy of Wolfgang is the all-mighty Ludgera Schröder, old in her style and wise in her speech. She married Maude Fischer, a humble fisherman who lived on the outskirts of Emaorie, and the two were able to have several children before Maude passed away due to a boating incident. Devastated, Ludgera retired from her alcohol duties and left her oldest son Ulrik to take after the family business. With a broad build and threatening stance, Ulrik was determined in keeping Wolfgang alive and well. It didn't matter, though- the kingdom loved the family business. So, with everything settled, Ulrik settled down with a lovely women named Wilma and the two ran the wine tavern together.

That's when Adaline Schröder was brought into the picture.

Born September 12th, Adaline was brought into the world as a healthy and crying baby. Her family was ecstatic- they had been struggling to have a child for many years now, so when they finally managed to birth a heir to their shop, the couple celebrated and nicknamed their only daughter Lese.

Luckily for Adaline, her family was determined to raise her with the same love and affection they felt when they first held her in their arms. Adaline's mother, Wilma, was one of the kindest people Adaline has ever known. The mother had temporarily stalled her work in order to take care of their daughter, and as time passed and Adaline grew older, the family realized that they had to prepare her to inherit Wolfgang once they retired. They left that task up to Ludgera, who had taken a strong liking to Adaline. Being the only child, the two grew close and the young girl quickly learned the ways of their business. Though, if Adaline were to be honest with her family, she didn't exactly enjoy making wine for a living- even if it did come with the benefits of the largest tavern in Emaorie and nearly unlimited wealth. If she left their business alone, she would devastate her parents and belittle all of the hard work they've accumulated. One night, right after her eleventh birthday, Adaline had confessed to her grandmother about her unwillingness to continue on the family prodigy. Ludgera, being the wise woman she was, took Adaline for a stroll in the woods and gave a grand speech about the importance of keeping a legacy and building the family name. After that, Adaline never voiced her doubt about the family business for a long time.

With being such a high status in Emaorie, there was no lack of suitors for Adaline to consider. Once the news spread that Adaline had turned eighteen, it seemed that every man within her sector came strolling into the tavern asking for Adaline's hand in marriage. Most were turned away, the family knowing full well that many were simply looking to inherit their fortune. Others were considered, much to Adaline's annoyance, but in the end they were dismissed by Ulrik. The young girl, overwhelmed, would take breaks from the busy tavern and head to the forest with a basket in hand and a simple maroon cloak to hide her features as she picked raspberries and napped against tall birch trees until her grandmother would come looking for her and take her back home. Adaline had been vocal about her opinion of marriage to her parents, stating that she wanted to be with someone that she loved, just like her parents had been. While they were understanding, it was obvious that the pair were worried that Adaline would not find anyone that would suit her. However, only a few days later Adaline had met someone who she finally found a connection with. Tall and charming, Adaline had bumped into the young man during a shopping trip at the local market. He had introduced himself as Dedric Schmidt, a lower class smith who worked a few miles away from the famous tavern. The two continued to see each other for around a month, chatting about their lives and their futures. Slowly, Adaline began to fall for him and his sweetly personality. It almost seemed to good to be true- and apparently, it was.

The couple got engaged shortly after Adaline's nineteenth birthday, much to her parents delight. Adaline was happy, too. She thought she had found the love of her life.

That was true, but then Adaline had heard Dedric speaking to a nobleman when she was supposed to be gone for another shopping trip. Malice tainted his once-mellow voice, and the truth about his true rank as a lord came in the form of chatting and drink. 'She was easy to woo,' he said after a bout of laughter, 'Must've been exhausted from all of those men chasing after her. Charm is how you win a business, my good sir.'

Shocked and dismayed, Adaline left soon after and wandered in the forest. She sat by a tree and sobbed, heartbroken and angry. The young girl wasn't sure what to tell her parents- they would be devastated if she called off the engagement. So, she decided to wait it out. Keep the truth a secret and act happy. She convinced herself that it was for the betterment of her family's business, after all. Despite her best efforts, her parents and grandmother noticed her becoming more distant. They chalked if off as her being nervous and stressed, happily planning for the wedding that was to come in a few months while Adaline spent most of her time away from Dedric and wandering through the dense and familiar forest.

While undesirably shopping for a dress for the inevitable wedding, Adaline had been making small talk with a young tailor's apprentice. She had dropped her happy facade when her mother was busy, sitting down and opening up her feelings to a complete stranger. The young girl felt embarrassed, of course, but the boy nodded along as he tampered with a pair of worn pants. A short while later they had found what they have been looking for, and as the tailor's apprentice wrapped up the dress, she shared a look with him as he slipped a worn parcel in between the folds of the pressed outfit.

Adaline waited until she was alone in her room before opening the small package.

Inside was a rose quartz, fitted neatly in the center of a simple brooch.

HISTORY

Euphemia Wood has always felt like the odd-one-out for as long as she can remember. She was born an only child to Geoffrey and Evangeline Wood, a musically inclined couple that is somewhat well-known throughout Eamoire for their musical and theatrical abilities. Geoffrey Wood has written and directed quite a few plays, and his wife occasionally performs singing and piano recitals. She used to perform much more in her younger years, but ever since she had Euphemia, she's mostly strayed away from that scene. Their connections among the music and theatre worlds have caused them to gain loads of fame and fortune. Money is but an object in the Wood household, which is quite obvious if you've ever been there.

From birth, Euphemia's parents always pushed her to be a singer and pianist like her mother. "Oh, she's got the perfect piano fingers" They'd say. But once it actually came to playing, she was god awful. She couldn't play piano for shit, and she was completely tone deaf. Her parents figured it was because she was young, and hired numerous vocal coaches and piano teachers. Euphemia had no interest in playing piano or singing, which caused her to lash out. She scared all her teachers away. She would refuse to play, use vulgar language, insult them, and many times resorted to throwing things. Her parents did the exact opposite of what she was hoping for; they continued to pay more money to stricter teachers who scared Euphema more than she scared them. This cycle went on for years. Her parents would force her to sing and play piano, and she would lash out in new and unpredictable ways. She grew up having little respect for authority, little respect for her parents, and did whatever she felt like. Euphemia's parents were busy people; they didn't have time to watch or raise a child, so them stuck her with maids and servants that weren't too busy. The help didn't have the patience to deal with her, so they did whatever she said and gave her whatever she asked for. On the rare occasion when her parents were around, and they said no to her, she'd scream, cry, break things, and ware them out until they had to lock her in her room. That's when she started sneaking out.

At the young age of 11, Euphemia would sneak out of the house and roam around the woods. She didn't really have any friends, mostly because other children were afraid of her, but she convinced herself it was because she didn't want any. She instead turned to being friends with the animals in the woods near her home. Her favorite hobby was to go out to the lake in the middle of the woods and swim in her most expensive gowns so her parents would have to buy her a new one. She seemed lonely, and she was pretty lonely, but she forced herself to think that she was having more fun alone with the animals and fish and frogs and bugs than she would with another child.

As Euphemia entered her teen years, she became more curious about different things in her life, like boys. Men of different ages began noticing her when she'd walk through the market or stroll through town, which she enjoyed a little too much for a girl of her age. She started to wear tighter dresses and put on her mother's lipstick, and go out into town a lot more often. She was constantly sneaking guys in and out of her house. Nobody really liked her personality, she had a terrible attitude, so it felt good to get attention from men who loved something about her. When a girl of her age gets around that much, people begin to notice and rumors start to spread. Especially considering the status of the Wood family. She'd quickly been branded as a slut by many, which her parents caught word of, and reacted by boarding up her window, locking her doors at night, and forbidding her from going out into town.

Ephie could live without the attention from men, without the strolls through town, but she couldn't live without going out to the lake and swimming. For some reason, swimming in that lake was the only real sense of euphoria she could find. The feeling of being weightless in water was her only break from her boring life. She started to pay off a maid to unlock her doors at night so she could go swimming, which is something she's done every single night up to this day. She's even snuck three fish out of the lake up to her room. She keeps them in a big glass box, and considers them to be her best friends, but she'd never admit it.

Day by day, the late-night lake adventures began losing their touch. Ephie spent countless nights talking out loud to her fish about what she could possibly do or obtain that would make everything a little more bearable. There was nothing she could buy that would help, because she already had everything she could possibly think of. Then it hit her: how about rose quartz? One of the hardest to obtain, most beautiful objects in the world, that had the ability to supposedly removed the disappointment from your life. Considering she was the most disappointed, and disappointing, person she knew, she decided she was deadset on acquiring rose quartz. She asked her parents for money to "buy a new gown" for the formal they were hosting, which quickly excited them because they were obsessed with finding a suitable husband for their daughter, so they instantly obliged. Ephie went straight to town accompanied by a maid which she was required to be with at all times due to past behaviors. Ephie gave the maid a copious tip not to tell her parents as she met up with a shifty cloaked fellow who handed her a small pouch in return for a large sum of gold. When Ephie returned home, she opened the pouch to see a beautiful gold necklace with a heart locket, which held a large shard of rose quartz inside.

The mad that accompanied her into town the evening she bought the necklace came clean to her parents a few days over. Considering Ephie’s past, when she snuck down a dark alleyway with a sketchy older man she assumed the worst. This reveal caused a huge argument between Ephie and her parents; bigger than all of the past temper tantrums. Ephie packed a bag with a few dresses, as much money as she could carry, her three fish in the biggest jar she could find, and left. She exclaimed that she’d never sing another note in her life; never even speak again. It’s been about two weeks since she ran off. She’s been buying sandwiches at the market and sleeping on the side of the lake in the forest behind her parents’ house. Let’s see how long she’ll last.
