For a long time her mother didn’t realize Harper was stealing and by the time she found out, Harper was in too deep (she couldn’t stop).

She was caught stealing and lying to a police officer. Her mother sent her straight to this school after she earned a slap on the wrists for her behaviour.

Despite all of this, however, he will always choose to simply not interact with people in the first place, keeping his headphones in and the hood of his hoodie up. To those he considers friends, Devon is actually a teddy bear at heart, hiding beneath several layers of asshole due to his social phobia. He cares deeply about those close to him and will show his love in nonverbal ways. On top of this, he's a bit of a goof with a dopey smile who loves kittens and food more than anything else in the world.

Short Backstory: Devon spent the first eight years of his life in Busan, but moved to Cincinnati once his parents' visas came through. He grew up with a large family who gave him the classic "youngest cousin" treatment, which only fueled his social anxiety once he got to middle school. It also taught him to fire a comeback on the spot, though, so he supposed it could have been worse. He grew up training every day, picking up various forms of martial arts one after another. Throughout his school years, he was arrested multiple times for several offences, from drug use and piracy, to assault and robbery. None of them got him any jail time, but his record was nothing to be proud of. He dated a girl for 2 years in high school before he got arrested again and broke it off with her, knowing he would be spending a lot of time away from home. Devon spent a year in a juvenile detention center and several months in court before his parents enrolled him at Riverbrook, and he hasn't spoken a word to anyone since.

He was great at fooling people with these skills and really enjoyed that feeling of power. In recent years conning people into money or doing tasks for him was a fun hobby. He also partied a lot, growing fond of drugs and alcohol. He got caught by cops several times but his father paid them off. This time though his father decided to send him to this school to try and get his son to learn to behave.

Lewis George Reinhard

Lewis is one of the idiots of the group. He has a personality similar to Kailo’s, but much more arrogant and cocky. He’s always cracking sex jokes or hitting on girls. A lot of the time he doesn’t realize that he’s being a creep. He’s very “self-confident”(cocky af).
Relationship with Kailo: friends, nothing more. he just drifted into the group. they’re definitely pretty tight, since their personalities are so similar.


Jaxon Tyler Summers


Jaxon is the more artist one of the group. He loves to paint and draw, and Lewis is always cracking gay jokes about him. He is pretty funny when he wants to be, but doesn’t usually joke. He films when they skate and is usually the one who saves them from killing themselves when they do dumb stuff.
Relationship with Kailo: he’s Kailo’s half brother. she spends a lot of her time with him, definitely, and is pretty close with him.

Buster Rahmadi Johnson


Though Buster looks and sounds big and tough, he’s a softie. He’s essentially the bodyguard of the group, and the most logical. He’s very sweet and respectful but will knock some heads if needed.
Relationship with Kailo: they were definitely close, too. she respected that he respected her and felt comfortable around him, and was thankful that he was there for the group.

Donte is the brains of the group. Though he chose to hang out with idiotic kids on the verge of being delinquents, he had a bright future ahead of him. He was best friends with Buster.
Relationship with Kailo: they dated, but fell apart. they miss each other quite a bit but Donte is much better at controlling his feelings logically.

History

Anabelle grew up as a fairly happy kid. Her mother (Sophia) wanted her to be involved in the community, having her do sports and take dance classes, the latter which she loved a lot more. But, everything changed the night before her 8th birthday. She had a dance recital that night and afterwards, she begged her mom to take her out for ice cream. Taking this alternate route home put them in the path of a drunk driver, who t-boned their car, killing her mom and leaving her heavily injured. Both her and her father (Andrew) were devastated by Sophia’s death. Ana turned to silence, having not said a word for many years following the accident. Andrew turned to alcohol, the loss of his wife being too much to bear.



Within a few months, Andrew started to blame his daughter for the accident and in his alcoholic state, would abuse her relentlessly; deprive her of food, sleep, and beat her. It got steadily worse over the years, especially when he started dabbling in his illegal activities. It escalated until she was making trips to the hospital on a monthly basis.



She was so ashamed of this, not only her father’s behavior but what he was doing, that she pulled away from everyone even more so than she had before. She grew up with no friends to speak of, battling through day to day life and immersing herself in art to escape her reality. By the time high school came around, life was pretty much meaningless for her. Her home life was awful and her school life was no better with bullies and the like. By the time she turned 16, the police (The ones that weren’t corrupted) were able to make a case against her father and send him away to prison.
