Dice Rifts

I am going to be using Tattooed man OCC (From world book 2 Atlantis)

As well as an ogre.(I think from the same book).

I would like to take an option it mentions that I am a run away slave. (Tattooed men are traditionally slaves) and start with up to 6 extra tattoos .

Because since the game is not taking place in Atlantis and being a run away is more interesting then being a slave on a mission, I am unlikely to ever get more later, as is the normal practice.

Kinda funny that I'm running an Atlantian Ley Line Walker. We'll have something in common.

After some consideration, I will go ahead and give the ok to letting you start with extra tattoos. As a runaway slave, you would not have the ability to get any more. @Beedub and @Sherwood; you may request a special artifact or item that you would not have access to that you can have to compensate. Nothing too wild, please.

I don't suppose you'd let me get more tats also?

It never hurts to ask. How about a lesser holy weapon from the Atlantis book?

32 Speed before skills.

I rolled hilariously.

A 7 is my lowest which hurts because a 6 gets me a bonus.

Speed the only stat that gives no dice bonus I'm starting with over30.

I liked that my first roll was good so it got my hopes up, but Iq is very minor for a warrior wizard

The dice gods are fucking with me.

The dice give, and the dice take away.
I was wondering since we're from the same area if you wanted to tie our back grounds together.

I'm thinking I saved your life and in exchange you bought me my freedom a life for a life.

Sure. We can work out some details. Did I help you escape, and we are both on the run from slavers? I like the sound of that, personally.

We could both be on the run because you helped me escape or you could of paid for me all legal like.

If you want to be on the run though I'm in.

On the run sounds cool to me. I'm going to start putting my character up on the board, but I'm only able to use my tablet, since my computer is in the shop. It might take a bit of work to get the bugs out of the sheet.

I said this in the other post but I'll say it here too.

I work overnight so I'll go through the posts in these tabs when I get off.

Also what Rifts books should I read through?

@Zedalb and I are both going to be on the run from Atlantis, but it is not a requirement that you be one, too. Psychie has said that we are to be from North our South America, and had dropped a hint that we will be dealing with vampires in our future. Something that can deal with them would be good; like a cyber knight.

Yes, vampires are a big part of the game coming up. Something that can deal with them would be good, like the anti-monster in the South America book, or a drain from the core book. I'm flexible.

Just a note, tattoo magic Cost DOUBLE for non T men OCC. So your cost are wrong.

Also a note, activating each takes a combat action, so investing in a good style is critical if you want to use them.

I never noticed the extra cost for a non Tattooed Man before. That makes my options a bit more limited, since I can't afford at this point to drop 80 ppe on my Invulnerability. Once I level up a few that will no longer be so bad, since the MDC i get from it goes up each level. As for the activation action, I don't know if any way to get more than my five actions per round at this level; boxing and martial arts is it.

You can't use them all at once anyway. Considering just one is 80 points.

Your looking at a few hundred before spells. And an entire turn spent standing still.

Honestly though, if everyone gets 6 free I might as well not play that class since most of my class feature is give away for free.

(Most Atlanteans have 2 or 3 listed specific ones according to the book, not 6 of choice)

They come with two, but the book says that they can have as many as six tattoos. As a Tattoo Man you will have upwards of 18 (I think) at character creation, and six more that psychie has okd

No the book says people CAN have 6 without losing all magic. Less then 2 % of the population has ANY other tattoos.

Since there rare expensive and huge effort/ Time investments.

It's like me getting to start with power armor and other ridiculous gear not mentioned in my class.

Also sure I could have 18 but there's not that many great ones.

6 gets you

75 MDC per level

An MDC weapon.

Flight

Immunity to mental stuff

immunity to vampires.

And either a series of spells or something like resurrection.

Its like me getting to take any 6 of your spells and getting to take all the max level ones.

"It's totally balanced you have first level spells too!"

I can drop some of the tats, but I was planning on having the Invulnerability as my primary defense. Body armor that I can start with is only 35 MDC, and Armor of Ithan is 10 MDC per level. @Psychie, can we get a ruling?

Ok. Let's try this: @Zedalb gets his six extra tattoos, and @Sherwood can have one tattoo extra above the two that you get as an atlantien. @Beedub still gets to ask for some freebie that you normally not have.

I'm reading through the Rift Ultimate Edition now. Skipped to the how to play and character creations sections. I also found the Book of Magic pdf so I can reference it. I'll come up with a character sheet shortly, but is there anything else I should read, either before or after I write up a character? I'm still new to this.
