Your local bisexual mess
Currently, the U.S. is split into six different areas:
The California Common Wealth on the West coast.
The Wasteland... A desolate area where no single "government" has control, total chaos, takes up majority of the Midwest.
The Plains Nation, the biggest, and most neutral of them all. People like to call this "nation" the marketplace, as it is where the most trade goes on. Takes up all of the Central U.S.
Texas, quickly moved back to Western times with little struggle, and society remained intact. Takes up where past-day Texas stood, and reaches into Mexico.
The Georgia Federation, one of the major powers of it's time, and the most technologically advanced. Steam trains roam the land, making travel easier than in the other nations. Takes up the Southeast.
The Monroe Republic, another major power, but the least neutral of them all. For 12 years the Monroe Republic has waged war on both it's neighboring nations, the Plains Nation and Georgia Federation. Takes up the Northeast.

Other details:
Within the Monroe Republic there are rebels, wanting to take down the leader. This is also a group you may come from.
You may also be just a normal citizen.
