An older woman, smiling as she sat on her rocking chair in front of the raging fireplace. You walk to her, two hot chocolates in hand. You visited her at the Academy hall every now and then to talk, her being the Head-master's right hand. "Hello sweetie... how nice of you to think of me." She says with a sweeter smile as you sit across from her in a comfy chair, passing her her cup. As you lean back, you can see old artifacts of a past that had seen the worse. A sword and shield with the most beautiful copper edges. A large pink hammer, the steel still in perfect condition, shimmering in the fire light. Two sub machine guns, the green trailing into a flower on the sides of both of them, their blades looking as sharp as ever. The woman chuckles a bit. "I am sure you want to hear a story... but it will not be of those ones..." She said, motioning to the weapons mounted on the wall. "That story has been retold many a time... I will tell you a story of other heroes..." She said as she cleared her throat.

"It was as they said... the beginning of the end... The hunters and huntresses were outmatched in numbers and strength, but they held strong, unflinching. Their journey to this dark land had not been dangerous, this was nothing they had not experienced before. Greater odds were at stake before and they had overcame them with time, but they may not have time on their side. The Artifacts were in the hands of Salem, with the lamp the only one the hunters held. If they were to stop this entire thing, Salem had to be ended." She stopped for a moment. "Wait, wait, wait... I am way too far..." She said with a small laugh. "Allow me to start from the very beginning.... At beacon acadamy...."

This is where we start our journey. Our story begins, but it is up to us where it goes. Betrayal? Love? Rivalries? Friendships? This is all up to you. The story has a beginning and an end, but the in between is up to you, and you shape the ending to your liking.

Amber stood on her pad as she readied to launch. She was not prepared for what Ozpin had said about 'Landing strategies' until the first person was launched. She got into a position where she would be able to fly through the air easily. She heard Puke Boy trying to figure out what the Headmaster meant by his little speech and she laughed a little to herself. "When will that guy not be ridiculous?" She said with an eye roll. she hear the springs lock under her and she was launched towards the emerald forest. Sent flying while she was distracted, it took her a bit to steady herself in the air. She took her sword out of it's sheath and prepared her landing strategy on the fly.... literally?

Cynthia stood on the launchpad. Ozpin told everyone they'd be using their own landing strategies. No matter. Cynthia's semblance was the most proficient at doing so.
She was already planning things out, studying the layout of the forest. She'd been doing so ever since they arrived. Ozpin mentioned they'd need to find some relics. She would find them before anyone else. It had to be her. She payed attention to spots that seemed more likely to have Grim. Launching a bunch of kids carelessly into a forest was abit distasteful but she'd be be the one with the easy landing. She'd use that to her own advantage. The blonde boy with the ridiculous looking armor seemed nervous. Something was definitely suspicious about him. She'd have to study him later. She focused her eyes to the forest waiting to be launched.
"Mission Acquired." She said emotionlessly.
Soon enough the springs launched sending her flying into the forest.

Vanta eyes locked in one the forest like an Atlesian Paladin targeting system, Vanta was searching for a good spot to land. He eventually gave up understand long he couldn’t see through the canopy of trees anyway so if he drops into the forest he must do so blind. He got into a ready stance low to the platform as he felt the springs compressing. Then with a rush that felt more like the sky coming towards him than the actuality of him going sky high, he was launched into the Emerald Forest. He always imagined paratrooper training would be fun, no he gets to find out first hand what it’s like to be death from above. The vastness of the sky found itself replaced by the canopy of green, it’s here Vanta began to employ his landing strategy.

Cimmerian raised a single eyebrow at the conclusion of Ozpin’s little speech. This act of surprise was spurred by the knowledge that the headmaster had divulged to everyone. They, and by that he meant all of the would-be hunters currently standing on the cliff, would be catapulted off the edge of said cliff into the emerald forest below.

Somehow, the grey hair teen thought that was a little irresponsible of the man, even if everyone present should have their Aura unlocked, not to mention years of training under their belts.

According to his uncle and some other Hunters that had visited his dust shop in Vale, Ozpin had a reputation for eccentricity. And by hearing what the headmaster had planned this day was a confirmation of that.

Realizing that students were already starting to get launched off the cliff, Cimmerian broke out of his musings and readied himself, left foot behind the right, knees bent. When his turn came, he kicked off against the platform beneath his feet, using a small burst of Aura to propel him even further. High above the green carpet of foliage that lay before him, he allowed gravity to seize hold of his body and he began to fall.

Hard grey eyes scanned the area, his right arm raising so that it was pointed at a large tree directly in front of him. A press of a button and the grappling hook attached to a bracer rocketed forward to strike the branch of the tree, sinking deep into the wood.

Midori was ready this was what she had always waited for she was ready for her next step to becoming a huntress. The transition from Heaven to Beacon was full of ups and downs. The move was easy enough but it was a bit hard to say goodbye to the friends she had made at Heaven, but she promised herself she wouldn't be sad. She'd keep moving forward because that's what a huntress does they press on no matter the danger. Deep in thought Midori didn't really pay much attention to what Ozpin had been saying. When she had tuned back in she heard the phrase "landing strategies" which confused her. So she raised her hand to ask what that meant but suddenly she was launched into the air flying through the air so suddenly shocked her. Thus Midori did what any person does when suddenly spooked, she screamed and as much as she liked to think she was a calm, level headed person. It wasn't long before she was panicking on what to do as she careened through the air.

"What do I do!? What do I do!?" That's when the phase she had heard from Ozpin began to make sense. All she had to do was improvise a landing strategy, but what could she do? "Maybe my semblance? No that won't help. My weapons? Too short of range to really do anything. Propel myself with my shotguns? That'd never work. Oh I got it I'll just snag a tree on the way do-" Her sentence was cut short as Midori slammed into the branch of a tree the force knocking the wind out of her. She slid off the branch like water off a windshield landing on a second branch then repeated this for about five branches. Until finally Midori landed on her back "safely" on the ground. Midori then rolled over onto her stomach so she could push herself up to her feet, taking a look around to make sure no one had seen her completely fail. Then proceeded to sit down in order to recuperate after her more unrefined landing strategy.

Eis Kalt

Location: Initiation Cliffs
Standing upon the Cliffs over looking the Emerald Forest, an anxious Wolf Faunus shuffled about awkwardly, excitement coursing through her. This was it. Finally after years of dreaming, of training with Geist, with... Mom. It was final here, Initiation Day. For weeks she had been stressing out about this. What if she wasn't good enough? What if she screwed up? What if she made a fool of herself and threw up! Some poor guy had already pulled that one off. It tormented her crimson eyed mentor to no end, going so far as to leave on a Hunt for a bit just to get away. Looking around her, she found herself much more nervous about trying to talk to her classmates then fighting Grimm.

When the Headmaster declared that not only was everyone going to be paired with another student for two years, but this would be decided by making eye contact! Was that for real? Was this how Vale worked? As the young wolf tried to wrap her mind about everything that was going on, she missed him discussing 'landing strategies'. Oh Essence, a partner? Geist didn't mention anything about that! Gah! What if they think I'm annoying? No, it's okay Eis, you're a total charmer. Ya just don't know it yet! Just be friendly, smile, and try not to kidnap them so you can hang out. We've learned that's a no-no.

As she continued giving herself a silent pep-talk, her ears picked up the sound of gears and mechanisms moving into place. That was weird, grass usually didn't have that kind of stuff. Before she could figure it out, the pup was projected into the air with a great deal of force, a confused screaming following her into the air. Looking around with her single sapphire eye. Was she in the air? This.. This was... "This is fricken awesome!" She burst out, laughter rolling through her small frame. As she did so strong gusts of wind started surrounding her, propelling her forward and towards the ground. A predatory grin formed on the Faunus' face as she neared the forest, instincts kicking in. A final gust of wind came up from beneath her, allowing her to land safely, if somewhat forcefully.

Her Rending Claws formed around her hands, eye scanning her immediate surrounding. "Okay Eis, time to not mess this up!"

Cynthia flew through the sky gaining momentum. She’d fly far past the others. One of the perks of her own semblance was that she never worried about falling or landing. She flew far getting closer to where the relics would be. She wouldn’t have to worry about slowing down since she could just float and stop whenever she wanted. She finally landed much further than the others. Whoever her teammate was would at least be competent to have traveled far. She was determined to finish the objective first.

Yennefer was catapulted way up into the skies. So tranquil up here, so... fluffy, and cloudy. Wait, they weren't that high. Oh no, now they're going down. What was going on?

The young girl struggled to put her mind together, as she had become scatterbrained when the launchpad sprung her into the air. It was so sudden and unexpected, that she couldn't remember a single thing the headmaster had said. She remembered that guy who puked while on the airship, though. Not sure what kind of advantage it would give Yennefer in this moment, but a small chuckle from the memory helped reboot her joyful personality, as she barreled down into the forest.

'This should be a good enough landing,' she thought to herself, as she prepared a bad landing strategy. Raising her weapon in water cannon form, she began firing a wide torrent of water downward, intending to slow herself down using the 'recoil'. The water sprayed downwards, splashing against the canopy of the lush forest below, and probably giving the wildlife a good scare with the sudden concentrated rain. But she was still coming in too fast.

'This is a bad idea,' she thought as she went ahead with a better idea. Assembled back in shield form, she dove down like a really graceful brick, breaking a plethora of tree branches, before coming to the halt on the cold hard ground.

The impact made a sizeable crater, especially in comparison to the impacting projectile. A Yennefer was on the field. Now, where to go?
