Personality*: Vanta to state the obvious despises wearing anything other than dark colors and favors black heavily, though he doesn't mind tiny bits or secondary color if white or something. Vanta stands and upright as one could expect of a military child, he is not one to hold his head down or break his bearing. His voice has and mannerisms has military written all over it, he speaks clearly with an air of authority but not arrogance. He actually despises being lumped in with the wealthy civilians of Atlas because they know nothing of service or of battle. It is those people who tend to draw an inherently negative response from him, he feels they are different from Military on a base level and therefore dislikes them from a base level. Vanta is capable of operating as a follower, leader, and individual it makes no difference to him.

Parrabellum is a magnum with adjustable firing modes which are normal, full auto, scattershot, heavy, and explosive. Limelight is Atlas's hard-light technology but it's instead in a high energy form, dust can alter the properties of its beam. The blade of Limelight has adjustable length and can be rapidly activated and deactivated.

Semblance*: Tessellation

This is the manifestation or his ability to operate alone or as a part of a group. His semblance creates hexagonal constructs of adjustable size, quantity, and efficacy that he controls with his mind. It can be used offensively and defensively, but in a team setting it's good for support. The constructs can tessellate to form things like walls, platforms, barriers, etc. On the other end they can be used a sharp spinning shards to attack his enemies, whether they are fire and forget projectiles or acutely controlled and reused it up to him. In both offensive and defensive cases he prefers to use options that save his aura because he despises wasting aura as it's not just for his semblance but his protection.

Background/Bio*: The Steele clan are a proud family of Atlesian military officers all around, they aren't the traders and bureaucrats they most commonly have to associate with at high class gatherings. Vanta was born into this family, he was the first to ever have to the option to become an Atlesian Special Operative therefore his family make sure he still got his military officer training before Primary Combat School. So in addition to attending a prep school for Atlesian Officers he was also tutored by various Atlesian military members from all portions of the military, this was to compensate for the time he'll miss attending Primary Combat School and Huntsman Academy. Vanta's greatest military instructors were his parents his mother being a Ground Forces Officer and his father an Airfleet Admiral. He attended an Atlesian Primary Combat School but it was decided it'd be better for his development if he trained at another kingdom's academy. They decided Beacon Academy was best for him to do his cross training.

What motivates you to become a hunter/huntress*: He wants to become a member of the Atlesian Special Operatives Unit, to become both an elite soldier and huntsman is his ambition. He seeks to one day even stand as a General therefore having both a great military career and great huntsman career. He hopes to set a precedent that'll elevate the Steele family to a whole new status among the military. He does more so for his own dream then to impress his parents or anything like that, at the end of the day it'll be his name that goes down in history. He wants to be studied in classroom and revered by the military of the future.

What scares you/What are you terrified of*: Vanta's fear is not conventional therefore there is little remedy for it, the only recourse would be to abandon his dreams and he cannot do that. Vanta fears that when he reaches the top he'll stand alone which will lead to him besieged by a hollowness, that in turn will be his great down fall. He fears not finding a one true love who will walk his path with him and endure all that it will demand of him, that in itself is a rarity. It's not enough have a lover who becomes an ex or even to simply has a kid, he need a queen to be by his side. It's more than just the typical fear of being alone, it's a logical progression of a sequence of events that cannot be halted once in motion. He is fixated on this course and there's nothing he can do about it, it's a fate of his own making yet it can be just as cruel.

What do you like/What keeps you going*: He is driven along his path by the very thing that made him a Huntsman in the first place, his dreams. He wishes to stand among the elite soldiers of Atlas as a Specialist, form there he wishes to move onward towards being a general. He has no problem perishing if it's in the pursuit of that dream, he'll always crawl forward towards it while he is still alive. He will not let all his progress from before be in vain, never would he waste the time of so many who invested their time and hopes into him. Atlas needs people like him to continue replacing the Generals of old, then it'll be his turn to foster the next generation of leaders.

Personality*: Cynthia is generally not a talkative person and can come off as a cold person. She especially tends to keep secrets from her friends. She often lies or talks riddles with others. Her cold and reserved personality makes it hard for others to understand her. She is extremely proficient at carrying out tasks and focuses on missions with extreme efficiency.

This allows her to move in a floating like sequence weightlessly, allowing her to enhance mobility

Background/Bio*: Originally raised in a rich family that owned a weapons company, one that secreted carried out assassinations and operated as spies under the government, she grew up learning proficient combat early in life. During the day she served as the ideal daughter of rich, successful and well known parents, during the night however she got rid of criminals who operated against Vale. This served to harden her quite a bit. Always putting up facades on both sides of life. The next logical and strategical move was for her to become a huntress, which would further increase the family and their company's influence of the world.

What motivates you to become a hunter/huntress*: They were always viewed as efficient in combat and fufillng missions. It seemed like the logical step.
Cynthia had always been an extremely efficient assassin/spy so her family putting her forth as a huntress was seen as a strategical move.

What scares you/What are you terrified of*: Showing too much emotion. Letting others get too close is terrifying. Others would never be able to understand her.

What do you like/What keeps you going*: Fixing the wrongs in the world. Cynthia is an idealist and a fatalist who would do anything and sacrifice everything for the good of the world. This tends to make it hard for her to allows others to follow her or get close to her.

Nubia attaches her Aura to another persons. When the person she is attaches to takes damage, Nubia's Aura takes the hit instead. Nubia has an overflow of Aura so she is able to keep this up for a while and at the same time protect herself.

"Oh... You want to know about me.... I guess I should start around the beginning then..."

"It happened when I was a child... around the time I was 7. My dad was so wonderful. My mom, being a huntress, was on a mission at the time but she had already been gone for about a month. We were out at the market at the time, enjoying the sun and sand. I asked my dad when would mom be back, but he just sighed and replied with a 'I don't know dunebug, but I am sure soon.' I believed him of course, but I kept asking almost everyday with the same response." The tone in Amber's voice starts to waver

"It was then... I felt it... The ground started shaking and I heard screaming coming from the edge of the village. Moments later I saw people running from... something.... I did not know right then what it was. My dad looked up and saw what everyone else did... I asked him what was wrong as his face had gone pale. All he did was picked me up and started running with me in his arms. His mistake was facing me backwards... I saw it.... all of it... The Grimm had broken down the wall to the village and were destroying and killing... I have not been able to get the image out of my head..." Amber starts to clench her fists as she thinks about it.

"My dad... My dad placed me on the steps of our house and told me to head inside and told me to go inside and do not come out for anything. I saw him take my moms spare weapon she kept under the stairs and started going towards the Grimm. I shouted to him as he ran... 'Daddy don't go!' 'Please stay!' Things like that... He didn't hear me... He ran, so I did to... I ran to him. I got close to him in time to see him and a few others facing the Grimm... It was a futile try, I can see it now. They were buying everyone time to escape, but I didn't know that at the time.. I screamed to my dad and ran to him... I hugged his leg and didn't let go. I felt... tingly... like something left my body but attached to him... My dad managed to shake me off and get me out of the way... but it was just in time for a deathstalker to grab him and slam him into the ground. I didn't get to see if he got up or not..." Amber sighs as she un-clentches her fists and relaxes a bit. "I blacked out as soon as he hit the ground..."

Amber sighs as she continues. "I don't know how long I was out... a day? Two? All I know is I started to come back to my senses during mid day...I had blurry vision, but I could tell people were around, but no one looked familiar, mainly because of the blurred vision." She laughs a bit. "I remember rolling over, groaning like I had just been gut punched by one of those atlesian robots. I could barely hear, but I know I heard one of them yell 'We got a live one here!' Then I blacked out again."

"When I woke up, I was in a bed. This wasn't my house, and out the window wasn't my village. I crawl out of the bed and walk into the main living area. Everyone is supportive of me, hiving been found where all the action was as just a kid. I was offered food, shelter, water... The only problem was that neither my mother nor my father had been found or come back. None of them could find the man I described to them, and my mother either never came back from her mission, or did and saw the entire village ruined but never searched for me." A tear comes to Amber's eye.

I grew up with the Gold's, an amazing family I may add, but I decided to keep my name the same as it had been... the only reminder of what little I had of my old family. I saw some old hunters and huntress's coming back home and asked them about their adventures. They got to travel all around the world, hunting Grimm and keeping everyone safe from the bad in the world. I thought it was awesome people would put themselves in danger just to protect others. I guess my dad did as well... heh... That inspired me to become one just like them." Amber then looks down to her weapon, which has been in her lap this entire time.

"I practiced as much as I could, refusing to try any weapon other than one my parents used... now that I think about it... I would have only been using a sword if my family didn't persuade me to use a gun as well when I finally got into combat school. They were so proud of me. I was never top of my class, but I didn't slack either. I eventually graduated and I swear my entire village was there. The girl that survived a Grimm attack and turned that into hunting them. I applied to Beacon shortly after graduating, I wanted to get out of the desert and explore the world. and... here we are now."


What motivates you to become a hunter/huntress*: "I have always had the dream that one day we won't have a need for Hunters and Huntresses... A world that the Grimm no longer threaten us..."
Nubia's motivation is to wipe the Grimm off the face of the planet. She doesn't want to see others homes destroyed like hers was when she was younger.

What scares you/What are you terrified of*: "Well, this one is embarrassing.. I am terrified of Deathstalkers... I freeze up when I see one... I know, right? A Huntress in training terrified of a Grimm? It is only the Deathstalker... for reasons I have said already. There is also losing someone dear to me, that one is always on there.."

What do you like/What keeps you going*: "Well... First with what I like. I do enjoy singing, was always told I have a good singing voice but I don't know. What keeps me going is the thought I can change something in this world... That I can inspire someone like those Huntsmen inspired me."

Personality*: A complete party animal who loves being the life of the party Midori seems to always make it her mission to make others smile. She's the type to more often than not put the feelings of others before her own. Midori seems to have a need to make others happy almost like it's the only thing that can make her happy in return. While this does translate to her being very social it can also end up meaning she can easily be manipulated by others. Midori tends to avoid seeing the bad in people and might even down right refuse to admit someone is bad if she's already formed a bond with them. Her happy-go-lucky personality can seem forced sometimes especially when faced with bad odds. In these situations Midori will force a smile in order to try and face the bad and attempt to inspire others to push on as well. Her obsession with being a hero can cause Midori to neglect her own feelings but in spite of that she does genuinely wish for the happiness of everyone around her.

Semblance*: Layers-Midori can create green shadows which will repeat the last action she preformed 1 second ago. She can create up to five clones each one a second behind the others. If she holding dust while doing this the clones she creates will take on the aspect of said dust. This semblance allows Midori to launch a barrage of attacks without exhausting her stamina. She's also able to widdle down a foe's defenses thanks to the stream of attacks, yet this also means if one dodges the first strike the others will miss as well since they are exact copies.

Background/Bio*: As a member of Mistral's lower class Midori grew up around some of the worst people in all the kingdoms. Assassins for hire, corrupted Huntsmen and Huntress who'd gladly take a life for a few coins. Despite that Midori's parents tried their best to live an honest life her mother and father doing their best to keep her away from the bleaker parts of the kingdom. They never had a lot and Midori often went to bed on an empty stomach yet she wouldn't say she was unhappy. Spending time with her parents always cheered her up even if that time was short and in few due to both needing to work extra hard to support the three of them. One day money started getting better the young Midori of course thought it strange but after her father simply just told her it was from him working harder Midori didn't ask any more questions. Of course that was a lie and Midori wouldn't discover the truth to this lie until the day her father came home holding his bleeding side. Midori didn't have time to ask what was happening as her father quickly exited through the window that lead to the back of their house. A few seconds after that a man came into the house demanding Midori told him where her father went. The bloody knife in his hand making the situation clear, refusing at first the man backed her into a corner. Placing the knife to Midori's throat his body blocking the light from her Midori felt like she was being suffocated, overcome with fear Midori pointed to the window. The man left and like that Midori never saw her father again her mother had told her the truth. As it turned out her father had turned to stealing and reselling his stolen goods on the black market. Things were fine until someone he stole from sent an assassin after him, Midori didn't tell her mother she was the one to point the assassin towards her father.

Midori began to see the world in a far bleaker sense her mother no longer having any time at all to spend with Midori. Each day she'd come home sleep for three hours then head out for her next job. Midori began to wonder the streets looking for something to do, that was when she got cornered by some men. They demanded any money Midori had on her and refused to believe her as she told them she had nothing. When they pulled weapons she believed it was the end for her, but that's when a woman wielding tonfas saved her. She beat the man without a problem Midori tried to get her name but the woman simply just told her she was no one special. Just a simple huntress that was the spark, in this bleak gray world this woman was the one thing in color. That's when Midori decided she wanted nothing more than to be just like that woman, she wanted to be a hero, a symbol of hope, a light to those in the dark, she wanted to be a huntress. For once fate seemed on her side as a week later her mother and a man fell in love. Like something straight out of a fairy tale the man her mother fell in love with was of the upper class. As such Midori was given the chance to go to Mistral's academy of Haven which would set her on her path towards her goal to become a huntress.

What motivates you to become a hunter/huntress*: Midori is motivated by a desire to be the type of person to inspire others, she wants to become the personification of a light at the end of a tunnel. The person who when everything is going wrong and the sky is failing down still keeps spirits up with a smile on their face. To be that person is the entire reason she decided to become a huntress the very pinnacle of hope in a bleak future. Midori wants children to look up to her and people to feel at ease knowing she is there to protect them. It's base form her goal is to become a superhero.

What scares you/What are you terrified of*: Midori is scared of the past more than anything, the unchanging past that never fades. She knows that because of it no matter what she does or how strong she gets the past will forever remain unchanged. Midori also has a fear of tight spaces often entering a state of panic when in one, the only thing that can calm her down is either getting out or closing her eyes and humming to herself a song. These two fears of hers are rooted deep into her mind despite knowing these fears are irrational she can't help herself but be overcome with fear at both these things.

What do you like/What keeps you going*: Midori loves be around others having as many friends as possible whenever she can. Making her friends happy also makes Midori happy along with spending time with them. Midori loves to train and will often invite others to do some friendly sparing with her if they have time. Midori also likes to listen to music in her free time in order to relax or simply to enjoy some tunes. She also likes to listen to music to help focus on a task like studying or training.

Cimmerian Mist

Age: 17

A hooded grey coat that reaches down to the back of his knees, a black shirt, jeans, and boots is the extent of his outfit. The only real notable piece of clothing is the black half mask that covers the lower half of his face, to hide the smile he sports when in combat. He uses his coat to hide his many blades.

As for his physique, Cimmerian has a lithe and wiry build, being stronger than he appears and standing at 5’10. He has grey eyes and hair with the latter being short and somewhat uneven with a few strands draping over his face.

Personality: Cimmerian’s outlook on life can be described as bleak and highly pessimistic. He calls it realistic. He’s seen what the Grimm unleashed can do and he knows that the world of Remnant is cold and unforgiving. He wants, no he NEEDS to become stronger, in order to survive and take revenge on the creatures that shattered the peaceful life he once knew.

Due to his losses in life, Cimmerian is generally reluctant to form any sort of attachments to others as he fears he will suddenly lose them. Because of this, he is quite the anti-social individual (well, he already was one, but this is much worse) to the point of almost ignoring other people entirely. When he does speak, it is usually one-word answers or the occasional short sentence. Sometimes he not even deign to respond with words, merely offering a non-committal grunt.

Despite his……difficulties in getting along with others, Cimmerian is a highly driven and determined individual who does not shy away from any challenge, no matter how impossible it may seem. Some would say he is highly competitive. This attitude is clear in his ethics regarding everything, whether it be school work, combat or everyday life. He is highly practical and does not waste time on idle fantasies, although he does enjoy reading and meditation, as well as occasionally bird watching.

If one can break through his carefully constructed walls, they will find Cimmerian to be a highly dependable and loyal friend, if a tad clingy.

Kingdom of Origin: The Outskirts of Vale. More specifically, he is from a town called Hearthfield.

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Weapon: His primary weapons are a pair of hidden blades/grappling hooks attached to bracers. They are made out of a light but durable metal that can be used to deflect and even absorb blows. He also makes use of many hooked dirks for throwing, and several long serrated daggers. Although the rest of his weapons can easily be replaced, his hidden blades are a project of both him and his uncle, rendering them incredibly important to him. As weapons, they fit his fighting style well, being more suited to stealthy strikes at a victim’s weak points. He simply refers to them as the Blades.

Semblance: Not one for extravagant names, Cimmerian simply refers to his Semblance as 'Cloak'. What it does, is allow him to turn himself almost completely invisible save for a slight ripple or glimmer in the air, that an observant opponent may be able to notice. His Semblance not only removes him from sight, however. It also muffles his footsteps, breathing, voice, the slightest noise made by both his weapons and clothing, not to mention it removes his scent entirely. This allows him to be virtually undetectable from his enemies, both Grimm and human although while under it's effects he can’t be heard by his teammates. Anything he touches will turn invisible as well.

There is a limit. Due to a large amount of concentration required to maintain the effects of his semblance, Cimmerian can only sustain it for a maximum of 45 seconds in combat and nearly two minutes when not. Using it frequently tires him out and gifts him with a powerful headache. Thus, he only uses it when necessary.

Fighting Style: Cimmerian takes the slow approach, methodically whittling his foes down with minor injuries while avoiding their own attacks before going for the kill, usually using his Semblance to aid him in finishing his victims off. His throwing dirks are typically meant to distract and help him learn the skills of the enemy.

Emblem: He doesn’t have one. Doesn’t see the point.

Aura Colour: Grey

Aura Strength: Moderate

Biography: Cimmerian was born in one of the more wealthy and successful settlements outside the Kingdoms, a town called Hearthfire, which had stood against all manner of opponents during the many decades of its existence. Droughts, bandits, food shortages, and of course the creatures of Grimm. Cimmerian was the son of the town’s mayor and lived with his parents and younger sister.

When Cimmerian reached his fourteenth year, the town’s luck finally ran out. Stuck in the path of a massive Grimm migration, Hearthfire’s fate was sealed. Despite the best efforts of the town’s well-trained militia and the few Hunters that managed to arrive in time, Hearthfire was overrun and Cimmerian’s parents were both killed, although their son managed to save his sister. Forced to flee the doomed streets, the two first traveled to another settlement that often traded with Hearthfire before deciding to make their way to Vale as they had an uncle there.

But the caravan they had hitched a ride on was attacked by desperate outcasts (mostly Faunus) that had gathered together to form a bandit gang. During the fighting between said bandits and the caravan guard, Cimmerian’s sister was killed. Driven by hate and grief, Cimmerian took his first life that day.

Upon finally arriving in Vale, the bandits beaten off, Cimmerian was welcomed by his uncle who took him in, providing him with a job and a place to stay. With his uncles help Cimmerian slowly began to recover from losing his family, even if the scars would never truly fade. Under his insistence, his uncle (who was a former Hunter) trained him in combat and aiding him in building his weapon. As soon as he reached the minimum age, he applied to Beacon, passing the entrance exam with flying colours. The sacrifice of the Hunters in Hearthfire and seeing that life as a way to get his revenge greatly influenced this decision.

What motivates Cimmerian to become a Hunter?: Cimmerian's hatred of the Grimm will never cease. Not until each and every one of the monsters has been eradicated from the face of Remnant, preferably slowly and painfully as possible. He sees the Hunter's profession as a way to achieve this goal. His other reason for deciding upon this path is because he is obsessed at becoming stronger so that he can protect those he loves from harm.

What scares Cimmerian?: The thing that scares Cimmerian the most, the thing that boots him forward that was responsible for his decision to become a Hunter in the first place (aside from revenge) was a fear. A fear of failure. Failing to protect his loved ones from harm is something that Cimmerian is utterly terrified of. He feels that during the Grimm attack on Hearthfire he failed to stop the Creatures from ripping his parents to shreds while he could do was run away like the kid he was. Of course, he knows deep down that there was nothing he could have done, but that does not remove the feeling of guilt he struggles with every day.

What keeps Cimmerian going?: His need to be stronger, to get his revenge on the Grimm and so he may never know the horror of failing his loved ones again. The feeling of finally being able to achieve his vengeance against the beasts that haunted his dreams ever night spurs Cimmerian on in his bloody quest.

Blue eyes, brown hair, full of sass and ready to kick some ass, Yennefer takes pride in her blue colors. Her clothes were made more for comfort than protection, and purposefully heat-retentive. Scarves, black clothes beneath her fur boots and gauntlets, she also wears a small headband which contains a few small Dust crystals. These were not very refined, and can only effectively be used as a light source.

Personality*: Kind and caring, she can be quite the charmer upon first contact. Shy in her first few conversations, Yennefer will soon open up to someone if she finds them to be accepting of her. At her best, she's a talkative, caring person who tries and cook food for everyone and makes sure they're all comfortable and happy and stuff.
On the flip side, however... if you begin to wrong her, things will go wrong. If you start harassing her, or god forbid, her friends, then at first, you might feel nothing. Sense nothing. She tries to hold it in at first, letting things slide for the first few times, taking the benefit of the doubt. But when she can't take any more, she will burst, just like the flame she tries to hide within. Yennefer does not often burn, but when she does, she burns brightly, and nothing will escape her wrath.

Weapon: Healer of Wounds (Cannon), Great Turtle (Shield)
The gift of a kind-hearted weaponsmith, Yennefer's weapon is the perfect counter to her fiery Semblance. Using an adjustable gust of water, she can either cut away a Beowulf with a focused water-jet, or wash away a fire with a wide torrent. It also turns into the Great Turtle - her name for the shield form. In this form, the cannon retracts into a hardy shield which provides protection, without sacrificing mobility and initiative. The thing also folds out of the way into a mostly-compact block that she wears on her hips.

Semblance*: Fire. Lots of fire. The glaring contrast to her attire and demeanor, Yennefer packs a fiery punch, as she can manifest fire in a variety of forms and manipulate them. The fires are not safe from the elements, and can be extinguished like a normal fire, although she can still manifest fire even if she's underwater; in which case, the flames are near useless unless used at very very very close range. The intensity of the flames are also affected by her own body heat, which is the reasoning behind her heat-retentive clothing. She tends to get carried away when casting fire, however, and might grow temporarily reckless.

Background/Bio*: Yennefer Aleros was a normal child born in a normal house, living a normal life. For the most part. Her childhood was one of natural joy, frolicking in the green pastures of her family's secluded home, and listening to bedtime stories and songs at night. She had a loving mother and a caring father, who nurtured her in good health. She was taught how love others by her mother, and how to defend herself by her father, living in harmony with nature and each other.

But that all changed, when her Semblance acted up.

Awakening in a room ablaze, the young Yennefer was mortified. Her house was in flames, and she was doing the burning. Or rather, her hands were shooting out gusts of fire. She felt burned by the room, yet the heat did not come from the fires literally coming out of her hands, but from the already-lit furniture burning and smoldering. Panicking and choked by smoke, the Aleros girl barely escaped the house before it collapsed. She didn't know if her parents got out.

Drifting for days, with fear in her hearts, Yennefer felt terrible. She burned down their home. Running aimlessly in the forest, she looked for civilization. Her search slowly devolved into just staying alive for another day, as she bumps into bandits, predators, and sometimes, even Grimm, and then has to escape the toxic fires that she resorted to to defend herself in the first place. Months pass, and she finally finds civilization, in the shape of a small town.

She stays in that town, nurturing herself with the kindness of others. The authorities were notified of the incident, and the fires she left in her wake were extinguished, although her parents were nowhere to be found in the rubble. She was trained by a hardened veteran in the ways of combat, beyond what her father had previously taught her. Soon enough, she applied for Beacon, and miraculously passed. Grabbing a final farewell gift from the weaponsmith, she bid farewell to the town that treated her so well, and departed for the Academy.

What motivates you to become a hunter/huntress*: Perhaps she could conquer her fire. Make it go away, or at least fully control it somehow. Maybe if she fought the Grimm, and became a true huntress, she can be taught how to overcome her fire, and be the master of her fate.

What scares you/What are you terrified of*: She is terrified of the thought of accidentally burning away something, or someone she loves. Even worse, she fears for the day when people no longer look at her like a peaceful person trying to do good with a bad Semblance, instead as a deadly menace, a wolf in sheep's clothing.

What do you like/What keeps you going*: Maybe one day, Yennefer can put out her flames. To cast away the thing that has been inadvertently hurting her for so long, for the pursuit of a mundane life where she does not need to restrain herself from destruction. The Aleros girl dearly wishes for it to come true, even if it meant she had to lose everything.
