An idea I had was that Maestro makes a hobby out of exposing fake supers (in the same way that several IRL stage magicians have made a hobby out of exposing fake psychics, con artists, and mystics).

A funny corollary idea to that was the potential that maybe Maestro doesn't actually believe in superpowers and just believes it's all smoke and mirrors lmao

That would be funny! Though it'd require a dangerous level of delusion. His new teammates have a lot of hard evidence.

don't you worry, dearie, he'll figure out your tricks eventually!

With his power, Sidestep can literally drop a mirror sometimes, just to see what Maestro thinks of the broken glass.

The ANIMOIDS:

Differences between Animoids and Clover

Most of the animoids have a 'resting' form which is, essentially, a normal anthropomorphic form, generally around human height or slightly smaller/larger. They keep this form most of the time to conserve energy and otherwise not burn themselves out. Even in this form they are stronger and faster than humans.

Their "armor" form is a bigger, bulkier metal plated version of the resting form that they use to commit their evil deeds. While all of the animoids have relatively human intelligence, any strengths they had before are now amplified at the cost of them being more aggressive and destructive.

Clover was meant to just be an infiltration unit. She has an anthro form...and a human form. Hoan did not intend for her to ever actually power up into some cyborg murder bunny. Her ability to summon armor (ACTUAL armor) as Kamen Rabbit is a complete anomaly.

Types of Animoids:

Canine Animoids- anthro wolves and dogs, basically any big canine. Hoan's made more of these than anything else as they are cheap and efficient. They work in packs and serve as the backbone of Hoan's army, but unfortunately, they tend to either be viciously clever, or somewhat stupid. Hoan keeps trying to weed out the stupid ones.

Horse and Bull Animoids: Big brutes Hoan mostly uses for heavy lifting and the occasional fight where he doesn't care about collateral damage. Their levels of aggression vary, but all of them are easily provoked or ordered into becoming angry.

Big Cat Animoids: Lions, Tigers, a few Panthers. If the Canine animoids are the footsoldiers of Hoan's forces, these are the shock troops. The heavy hitters, the ninja commandos. Interestingly they are the only ones (aside from Clover being female) to display sexual dimorphism as Hoan created both lions and lionesses as the latter were more proficient hunters in nature and as chimeras.

Crow Animoids- After Clover's failure, Hoan resorted to making crow animoids for his stealth units, snipers, and infiltrators. They aren't as strong as the other animoids but are proficient in their purpose, to the point where Hoan keeps an eye on them in case they get TOO clever.

Frog Animoids-
Another replacement for Clover, they are amphibious and sneaky, but are the weakest of his creations, barely stronger than humans, and as a result are very pragmatic and resourceful to keep themselves alive.

Shark Animoids- While comprised of varying shark species, Hoan only bothered to make one type of aquatic animoid. They can exist in both fresh and salt water environs and, to the surprise of nobody, are the most viscous of his creations. Hoan only has a few of them and largely leaves them to their own devices as long as they do not act without his orders. Who knows what they've been getting up to...

The Hawk Animoid: Hoan only made one of these, and he is his pride and joy. Strong as a lion, cunning as a crow, the ability to fly... He's practically treated as a son by Hoan, though he remains a stoic enforcer who loyally obeys his creator without question.

When Clover was still around the other animoids, curiously, he treated her with an almost affection and more than likely kept her from being torn apart by the other animoids. However, if he were to find out she's Kamen Rabbit his earlier senitments would likely fall apart.

Why Hoan hasn't made more Hawks is a bit of a mystery.

Rhino Animoid- This big brute is the single most dangerous creation of Hoan. Powerful and intelligent, Hoan barely had any control over him (unlike Clover who he could not control at all) and he was deemed too dangerous to keep awake. Hoan had him cyro-frozen and keeps struggling to find a way to bring him under heel.

Theoretical animoids: Hoan could in theory make Gorilla, Snake, Elephant, and eagle animoids, but after the Rhino situation he has temporarily halted any attempts to make any new species

Sounds cool, TetsuKnife. Hoan will be a real big villain, I think.

Honestly, I keep thinking of ways a teleporter could/will mess with Maestro, though. Like, pulling scarves out of thin air, with his power, just simple things that could be a trick, but actually isn't.
