Muse A and Muse B are young and in love. After meeting one summer at the beach, the couple hasn’t been apart for more than 2 days at a time. Though they are young and their futures are still uncertain, they are sure that they intend to spend the rest of their lives together. Excited that they’ve each found their soul-mate and eager to show the world, they decide to get married. Unfortunately, Muse A and Muse B’s parents both strongly disapprove, stating that it won’t last and they’ll regret the rushed nuptials afterward. Discouraged, but not totally defeated, the young couple plan to elope. They’ll get married in secret and run away together, starting a life on their own, without their parents’ help. Muse A and Muse B scrape together what money they can and run off in the middle of the night, leaving only a goodbye note behind for their parents. They get married in a quaint roadside chapel and find a cheap apartment to live in. They plan to find work and take care of each other from now on, however, it’s not long before they discover that it’s not as easy or as fun living independently as they dreamed it would be. Before they know it, they’re short on rent. Work leaves the newlyweds with little time for each other, and when they are together they begin to fight over their finances.

Muse A and Muse B are head over heels in love with each other. They’re planning on getting married, but Muse A insists that they get the blessing of Muse B’s father in the traditional way before any plans are final. Neither Muse A or Muse B has met each other’s family yet, so, naturally they’re nervous about how the introductions might go. Underneath those jitters, however, they’re hopeful that their parents will see the person they love for just how wonderful they are. Muse A and Muse B receive a chilly reception at Muse B’s home when Muse A asks for Muse B’s hand. It’s not that Muse A doesn’t seem like a good person, according to Muse B’s parents, but that the color of their skin isn’t quite right for someone who wants to marry their child. Muse A and Muse B are shocked to learn that Muse B’s parents don’t approve of interracial relationships and are dead-set against the pair getting married, especially in this day and age. Muse B wants to marry Muse A anyway, no matter what, but it’ll break Muse B’s heart if their family doesn’t give their blessing and show up at their nuptials.

Muse A meets Muse B on the evening of Muse B’s wedding to a brutish, foreign diplomat. Muse A is working the catering hall for the event and encounters Muse B crying in her dressing room before the wedding ceremony begins. A thick language barrier obstructs communication between them, but it’s obvious to Muse A that Muse B wants nothing to do with this marriage. As the processional hymn begins and the wedding party begins to walk down the aisle, Muse A makes the split decision to take Muse B’s hand and sneak her out of the venue. Muse B knows that her husband-to-be is a dangerous man and despite her fear that they’ll be pursued, Muse B goes on the run with Muse A.

Muse A is a prince. Muse B is a princess. Both royals are from neighboring kingdoms that have had a tenuous alliance for hundreds of years. Muse A’s kingdom has a formidable army; while Muse B’s kingdom has plentiful gold and silks. War is threatening to come to their lands and the only thing that can secure peace for both kingdoms is a union of families by marriage of the next heirs to the throne. The prince and princess are set to be wed shortly after their first meeting, once Muse B is of age to bear children. At first, the betrothed couple do not get along. Bad blood between their fathers have tainted their views of each other long before they come to meet. Gradually, as they are forced to engage in the courting process for the sake of the kingdoms, their negative impressions of each other fall away.

Muse A and Muse B have just been cast to participate in the most popular game show on TV. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity, since the prizes are always amazing for anyone who finishes the game. And the premise is simple, it’s a live version of Truth or Dare; all Muse A and Muse B have to do is complete all of the rounds! Simple enough, or so they both think until the final round. A million dollar prize is offered if Muse A agrees to exchange wedding vows with the mysterious Muse B, whose identity is concealed behind a silhouetted curtain. The condition is that Muse A and Muse B must stay married for one full year to keep the money. Young and in a considerable amount of debt, Muse A and Muse B go for it and agree to get hitched on live TV. When the curtain is pulled back, Muse A’s face falls in shock. Muse B is all too familiar. Muse A has vivid memories of Muse B bullying them in school, years ago. Muse B doesn’t recognize Muse A right away, but senses that Muse A isn’t happy to see them. The wedding proceeds and after the show’s over, Muse A and Muse B must work through their issues if they want to keep that million dollar prize. Along the bumpy road of getting to know each other again, the pair realize that they’ve both changed a lot since high school. But have they both changed enough for real feelings to develop?

Muse A and Muse B are both social media bloggers; Muse B’s blog is more popular than Muse A’s currently, having amassed a following of 8,000+ loyal fans. Every once in a while followers Muse A and Muse B have in common will link Muse B to a video/blog post made by Muse A and Muse B’ll leave a nice comment or encourage their own subscribers/followers to check the post out, resulting in Muse A’s views and follower number blowing up. Muse A is pleasantly surprised one day to discover that their following has nearly doubled overnight, probably because of Muse B’s simple support. Figuring that it’s about time to say ‘thanks’, Muse A sends a private message to Muse B, introducing themselves officially and expressing their gratitude. Within a few hours, Muse B sends back a response. From then on, Muse A and Muse B start inboxing one another on a regular basis.

Muse A is fresh out of school and isn’t quite sure what they want to do with their life next. Before they can start shopping their resume around, they get a call from the casting department at a major TV network. Muse A almost forgot about the impromptu audition tape that they made for a Real World-esque reality TV show several weeks ago. To their surprise, they’ve been chosen to be a cast member! With no obligations holding them back, they pack their bags and fly out to the house where they’ll be living with 6 other people for the summer. Muse B is one of their cast mates—the first person Muse A meets upon arriving at the house. With a little coaxing from production, it isn’t long before Muse A and Muse B are in a full-blown show-mance: cuddling in the common areas of the house, kissing in the confessional booth, fighting about the other flirting with someone else at the club and so on. Overall, the experience is a blast for Muse A and the relationship with Muse B is fun, but it’s nothing Muse A anticipates to last once the show is over. Everyone parts ways when the show wraps at the end of summer, including the house’s it-couple. One week after taping ends, Muse A hears a knock at their front door. It’s Muse B, who’s just moved across the country in the hopes of continuing their romance with Muse A.
  • Optional: This could be a group plot if the show experience is played out.

Muse A is young and naïve, always looking for trouble. They finally find it with Muse B, an older, cooler type that they encounter somewhere they have no business being with their fake ID. Muse B is attracted to Muse A on a physical level, but once Muse A’s age reveals itself, Muse B lays down the harsh truth: they’re not interested in anything beyond a one night stand and they’re definitely not what Muse A needs (and vice versa). Reluctant to let the opportunity to be with Muse B slip away, Muse A convinces Muse B to take them home. Lust clouds Muse B’s judgment and they let Muse A spend the night. In the heat of the moment, when the chemistry is so obviously there, Muse B says all the things Muse A wants to hear. Once it’s all over, however, Muse B’s attitude toward Muse A hasn’t changed – but Muse A doesn’t believe it’s a hopeless cause. Much to Muse B’s dismay, Muse A starts coming around to their place, hanging with their friends, finding little ways to push into their life in the hopes of showing Muse B how good they’d be together despite their difference in age. Muse B insists that their relationship will never be; yet Muse B can’t help sending mixed signals when they continue to fall into bed with Muse A.

It’s moving day for Muse A and Muse B, best friends since primary school who’ve finally saved up enough to rent their own apartment in a nice part of the city. Fully embracing their independence, the excited pair decide to move their stuff without the assistance of a professional moving company. The roomies’ plans go awry when their couch gets lodged in the apartment doorway, blocking entrance into their box-cluttered place and access to the other side of the hall. Muse A and Muse B try every trick up their sleeve to get the couch to budge, but they’re not successful. Muse C and Muse D, renters on the other side of the hall, encounter their struggling neighbors at the top of the steps (and the hunk of furniture obstructing their path). Muse C and Muse D offer assistance and eventually manage to get the couch into the apartment.

Grateful, Muse A and Muse B invite their friendly neighbors over. Muse A and Muse C are flirtatious from the get-go, while Muse B and Muse D can’t help but roll their eyes at their respective roommates. Muse A and Muse C rush into a fling based on their physical attraction to one another, but they end up having terrible chemistry once the deed is done. It’s very awkward and sometimes even tense between them when they bump into the other in the hall. Muse B and Muse D, however, develop a genuine liking for one another that seems like it might turn into something more over time. In the meantime, they take great pleasure in forcing their discordant roommates together every chance they get.

Muse A has been sheltered formost of their upbringing, coddled by loving but overprotective parents well into their teenage years. They’ve yet to experience most of the milestones that their same-age peers take for granted, like attending a school dance or getting their driver’s license. The only time that Muse A isn’t under the watchful eye of their parents is when they’re at school and even then, they’re under strict orders to come straight home once that dismissal bell rings. Muse B hasn’t resided with a parent/guardian since they were legally able to live on their own. They didn’t come from a nurturing environment, not even close, but they’re not looking for a pity party about it. Muse B fends for themselves in this world and they’ve earned a bit of a reputation for snubbing their nose at authority at every opportunity.

Muse A encounters Muse B one afternoon as they’re making their way to the bus. Muse A can’t help but stare with envy as Muse B mounts their motorcycle—able to ride off whenever and wherever they please. Muse B catches Muse A staring and they offer Muse A a ride. Muse A accepts, hastily snatching up their first little taste of freedom.

Muse A and Muse B are a free-spirited couple who’ve just tied the knot. In lieu of an extravagant honeymoon, the spontaneous pair decide to enjoy the first few months of married bliss by taking a cross-country road trip together. Never ones to follow convention, the newlyweds rent an ice cream truck for the summer. They start their journey on the first day of the summer with the simplest of plans: use the proceeds of their ice cream sales to keep the adventure going from town to town and have the best summer of their lives with the one they love!

Muse A and Muse B are soulmates. They’ve grown up in the same city all of their lives and despite crossing paths several times, they have not met one another; they’ve continuously missed the other by a matter of seconds every time. One fateful morning, Muse A and Muse B happen to arrive in one another’s vicinity. Muse A spots Muse B from across the street just as Muse B is entering into the path of a speeding vehicle. Without thinking, Muse A rushes across the street and takes the brunt of the oncoming car to save Muse B’s life. Muse B is badly shaken from witnessing the accident and gets ushered away from Muse A before they can see the other’s face. Tragically, Muse A passes away while Muse B is being questioned by police. One week later, Muse B attends Muse A’s funeral to pay respects after learning their savior’s identity through the police report. When Muse B is about to leave the cemetery, they encounter someone who feels eerily familiar, though Muse B’s never seen them before. Muse A isn’t sure how it’s possible still, but they’re certain that they’ve been sent back to look after Muse B until Muse B draws their last breath. Muse A does their best to explain this to Muse B, who seems to be the only one who can hear or see them and their angelic set of wings.

Muse A and Muse B are part of a tight-knit group of friends who are daredevils. Every Friday night the group gets together in search of their next big thrill. Their favorite pastime is partying on the train tracks on the border of their humble town. There’s nothing quite like the rush of feeling the hard, metal tracks vibrate underneath them as the train comes barreling around the bend. Sometimes they run alongside the train as it rushes by and jump on, hitching a ride to the next town over. Sometimes they climb to the top of the train and jump off into the town’s reservoir for a late night swim. One night, the gang’s party unexpectedly gets broken up by the cops and everyone scatters. Muse A and Muse B head off in the same direction, but Muse A is the one who gets nabbed. It turns out that the police have been monitoring the tracks following reports of delinquent behavior in the last month. As hard as they push Muse A to identify their friends, Muse A refuses to cooperate and they end up taking the fall alone. Muse A is sentenced to a short term in jail and Muse B is the only friend that takes the risk to visit. Muse A and Muse B’s bond grows exponentially over the course of the sentence, developing into something deeper than friendship.

Muse A is famous and has been receiving threatening letters/messages online as of late. Muse B is a popular club bouncer, who gets a chance at the big leagues when they get a call from one of Muse A’s representatives to be Muse A’s personal bodyguard. Upon first meeting, there is a distinct physical attraction between Muse A and Muse B, but professional boundaries are set clearly within a contract. In the first few weeks of Muse B’s employment, they shadow Muse A every where possible and despite being there at Muse A’s request, Muse A begins to feel suffocated. They can’t have a personal life if Muse B is constantly with them, lurking over their shoulder or in the next room. The only way that Muse A can think of to get around this issue is to set up an online dating profile under a pseudonym, of course, so that they might meet someone without Muse B and the rest of the world interfering. Muse B also has trouble in their personal life, never having free time to date because they’re watching Muse A 24/7. Muse B sets up an online profile as well, unbeknownst to Muse A. Muse A and Muse B find each other online through their compatible interests and begin to chat, not knowing that they’re talking to each other in real life.
