The sun shines through the clouds on the first day of winter, the snow that had fallen the night before still visible on the streets and rooftops all about the town of Furtja. Vendors sell food and goods from stalls or shops, people of all sorts live their lives in relative peace. Furtja is mostly famous for two reasons. The grand mage tower of Elford and the Questers guild.
While the mage tower is very elitist only allowing the rich and generous to study magic...
Anyone is welcome to become a quester and enjoy the perks of the guild.
A bar with decent food and drink, cheap but high quality accommodation, a blacksmith/enchantment forge aswell as a adequate alchemy station. The most important thing about the Questers guild is the jobs that they recieve.
The guild rank tasks that the kingdoms and indviduals are pay to get done. Pay ranges from low to high accordingly from what is completed.
Low level jobs, mid tier missions and high stake Quests!
From slaying giant frogs to collecting a certain flowers from dangerous locations, a questers life is one of making money for braving danger successfully.

Talented warriors, cunning hunters, brilliant mages, all are equal as questers and the best usually work together in teams. Speaking of... a certain quester was returning successful from a mission. Two horses drag a wagon struggling to hold the dead body of a large purple drake. The triumphant man waved to those who stared and laughed when questioned about it "I'm a Quester, that's how"
The man kept leading the horses towards the guild to confirm a mission complete and the payment that comes with it. Ordinary day for most, horrible for others.
It was when everyone and the very land itself shook, luckily Furtja was mostly unharmed20211103_020223.jpg
Thirteen dark towers erupted from the ground killing any living creature within i vast radius. One can sense it's pure evil from a distance, a becon of death calling out for any brave or stupid enough to sacrifice themself. Monsters swarm from these towers in vast numbers, the dead walks amongst the living and they fight for the glory of the dark Lord, the Demon king Ozark the red devil.

"I sense quests coming..." Maria sighed, the staff inside the guild will soon be busy.
======================
It's a medieval fantasy world with magic and monsters.
The plot is about a Demon king magically erecting big black towers of evil and necromancy, thirteen towers have popped up across the lands and the Demon king's elite call these towers home...
With monsters munching an marching across humanity, the various kingdoms withdraw their armies and hope to defend their homeland. Though royalty from each direction have soon made it known that these towers must be destroyed.
Rewards of all sort can be acquired, one only needs to destroy a black tower with all inside...
Who could do such a thing? When the armies of man and beast alike cower and hide, Who would dare brave death and evil for the chance of treasure and renown?

A Quester would, what's a quester? Basically a adventurer but more impressive and probably a bit more eccentric.
In the form of pokemon...
your standard medieval fantasy person is a baby,
a adventurer is what that baby Pokemon evolves into,
A quester a adventurers final form provided they reach a high level and have the right conditions met such as certain stones or happiness levels, breeding questers requires a daycare and this metaphor breaks down around this part

Soft magic is the go here but I'm thinking along the lines of magic being different for races.
Humans would be born with a Attribute, "fire" "water" "light" etc firebending waterbending being easy examples

Dwarfs would be Enchantors and puppetmasters, making magic items or creating golems.

Elves would be more spell bound, having to chant and sing to communicate and control nature in various forms.

Beastkin would have no magic but instead have animal like perks, sharp claws, better senses etc.
The more "human" a beastkin is the more likely they have a magic attribute in place of those perks.

Like all my shit this is for about four or eight players, post requirements is two paragraphs or more twice a week but your free to go beyond that.
