PLOT:
(Inspired by This is Gospel and Emperor's New Clothes by Panic! At the Disco.)
Year 2020. United States of America, Virginia.
Project Gospel is humanity's only hope.
It's been 5 years since the first of the experiments escaped and began to wreak havoc on the world. Ever since 2008, the government has been conducting human experimentation in secret in hopes of creating weapons to be used for war. Since then, there have been 103 successful experiments creating powerful war machines, and over five thousand replicas of each experiment. They were nearly invincible, with amazing regenerative powers and frightening strength. Each different experiment had different weaknesses and different strengths, but all of them were powerful and all of their weaknesses were guarded incredibly well.
No normal human could touch them.
So when they all began to rebel against the government, the world was thrown into chaos. Instead of machines used to win wars that had already been started, they began to start wars themselves, killing humans ruthlessly and developing a sense of blood lust. In less than five years after their escape from the labs and military bases they were being held in, they began to spread across the continents, lowering the human population worldwide to two million. Most humans are forced to hide in underground bunkers that the experiments cannot access, but leaving to get food and supplies is dangerous at best. Fighting an experiment is suicide. It's impossible to win, even in large groups with heavy firepower. They were made to take on entire battalions of enemy forces alone. Civilians couldn't even scratch them.
These monsters are not human anymore. They appear human, and are extremely difficult to differentiate between by appearance alone. They're intelligent, and they can imitate human behavior perfectly, making it easy for them to disguise themselves as humans and pretend to be one of them, before annihilating entire populations. The only weakness that they all share is that they cannot go near a holy cross, or else they'll be pushed back like two opposing magnets. This cannot kill them, however, and keeping a holy cross on your body is efficient or driving them back, except the experiments are cunning, and will figure out ways to get the holy cross away from you somehow. Underground bunkers are only safe because they are stocked full of holy crosses. The experiments take joy in killing humans, and may even be known to eat their victims. They've become bloodthirsty monsters.
Project Gospel is all that's left.
Project Gospel: the last human experiment to be created by the government before the escape of the other experiments. No replicas have been created yet, and it takes the appearance of a man in his early 20's. It's the only experiment that hasn't taken a liking to killing humans. It's said to be more powerful than any of the other experiments, capable of killing the other experiments with a cursed katana known as Emperor. He was originally created as a control mechanism for the other experiments, but he was not completed before the escape of the other experiments and therefore he laid in a state of sleep during the escape of the other experiments, deep within a lab. Many want to wake him up and use him to save the rest of humanity after the collapse of the government, but there's only one problem.
No one knows where Project Gospel is.
Until today. While raiding an abandoned lab for supplies in Virginia, a group of scouts from a group of survivors who are studying and gathering intel on the experiments known as 'Survivor's Faith' discovered a wooden crate that had been nailed down. Inside, they found Project Gospel and his sword, Emperor, deep in a state of slumber. The crate also included a needle with a syringe in it, which was assumed to be what woke him up. Taking the crate to their underground base in the middle of a deep wooded area, Survivor's Faith was forced to make an executive decision. There was no proof that Project Gospel would not turn on them if they woke him up, but the alternative was to let humanity fall to the experiments. The experiments do not need food, water, or sleep, nor do they need to breathe. Project Gospel was something new to put their faith in.
Survivor's Faith held a vote among their members to determine if they should wake up Project Gospel or not. You are a member of Survivor's Faith who voted no, and are also one of the scouts who found Project Gospel. However, the majority voted yes, and Project Gospel was woken up with enough tranquilizer guns to bring down an elephant pointed at him during the process, even though it wasn't certain that they'd be effective against him. You are, despite your opposition, assigned to be the one who guards Project Gospel and makes sure he stays under control, as you are well-known as one of Survivor's Faith's best men in both combat and ingenuity.
MY CHARACTER:
Project Gospel
'Jackson'
Waking up with no memories other than his first name, Jackson, and being strangely drawn to a katana which he seems to remember is named Emperor, he is initially confused by his surroundings. He begins to hunt the experiments in hopes of finding out who he really is, and why he was created.
STARTER:
"It's moving!"
"Do you think it'll atta--"
"Shh!"
Who....Who am I?
Squeezing his eyes shut tighter, Jackson's finger twitched as he felt something sharp pull out of his arm. A needle..? He heard hushed voices around him, and the nervous shuffling of feet. Where am I? He questioned himself, but he could think of no answer. He opened his eyes slowly, expecting to be blinded by a bright light, but he wasn't sure why he expected that. Instead, he found himself staring up at a dimly lit ceiling, and his gaze stared at the concrete above him for a long moment. Then, he moved his head to the side, towards the voices he had heard. Before him was a large crowd of people, staring at him with a variety of expressions. Some seemed to fear him, while others watched him with hope in their gazes. All of them were holding large metal tubes, which he seemed to remember were something called guns. They were pointed at him. He felt dull, empty. His thoughts were quiet, and he stared for a moment, his gaze blank and confused.
He finally moved his gaze around the area he was contained in, disregarding the things called guns. He was laying on some sort of metal table, and there was a....Yes, that was a needle. There was needle laying on a tray near him. He felt the presence of someone behind him and moved his head to look, slowly. A man was taking off a pair of rubber gloves, stepping back a few steps away from him. He soon immersed himself into the crowd, moving behind the row of people holding guns.
Was he supposed to do something? They all seemed to be waiting for something... Slowly, carefully, he sat up, and the quiet murmurs began to grow louder again, and the points of the guns followed him as the crowd took a few steps back.
"It seems...confused."
"I don't like the look of this."
Jackson looked down at himself, looking at his clothing. He was wearing some sort of blue clothing, a shirt and pants that matched and were made of cotton. Hospital clothes? Yes...that's right. What was a hospital? He reached his hand up to look at it, staring at his large palm.
