Project Black IC

Space..... The Final Frontier......

Shin let his fingers tap across his touch screen tablet as his eyes searched for what he was looking for. The room around him was pitch black except for the light illuminating from his tablet. He paused for a second as he looked over the screen. Letting a finger slide up the side of the screen and then touching the center of it.

Music began to play in his ear piece as he tapped around the screen once more. Just as the song started to play for only him to hear... The lights flushed on all around him. With a few more taps on his screen the large engine before him hummed on. He made his way to it's control panel and began to press buttons and flip switches.

He took a step back as the engine roared to life even more. Shin looked to his tablet and turned up the volume on his music.

The Gallion was a large ship, which was a great understatement. The ship could carry and home 30 to 500 people comfortably. Her max would be somewhere in the thousands easily and as it stood... the Gallion was manned by a few handful... And even then, considering them a ghost crew was greatly understated.

The Gallion was to be piloted by five people, she held 17 engines and could cover great distances at great speeds for her size. But as it stood now, she was piloted by one, with some assistance from another. For most of her recent time in space, she was piloted, cared for and manned by one.

Shin adjusted the engine as needed before leaving the engine room. This was one of their smaller engines as they had many to begin with. Shin rushed through the large and small corridors making his way quickly to the second engine room he needed. This room was three times bigger than the first one. The engine he turned on this time was the size of a small house. The noise almost canceled out his music but once he adjusted the second engine, the roar became a light purr. Still loud... But the soft sound told him that the engine was working fine.

He once again left the engine room and began to run to the next room. Leaping over piles of junk lining the halls and ducking under loose hanging wires that seemed to not end. This would seem very, very normal to those who have been on the Gallion for some time. The piles of junk were used for parts Shin would make himself.

The ship flew perfectly for what it looked like on the inside. One could have a life time or two with engines or ships and be the best in their field.... Place them on the Gallion and they down right lost when looking at the engines, wiring... Anything that helped the Gallion preform would be baffle those in their field. to them it would just look like a bunch of shit just pilled together and then welded together.

Shin rushed into the next room. A room completely white with two large blue pipes sitting in the center of the large room. He dropped his tablet on the ground as he climbed up a latter to get to a metal catwalk that surrounded the two pipes. He rushed over to one of the pipes and jumped up pulling down a large lever. He did the same with the second one and then went to a large control panel nearby. Flipping switches, turning knobs and pushing buttons looked like he was conducting an orchestra. A deep hum and the sound of power rushing through the tubes echoed through the room.

Shin left the control panel and descended the latter rather quickly. Sliding down to the floor below he was quick to leap off the latter, pick up his tablet and then continue on through the large ship.

He took as many shortcuts as he could and continued to turn on or alter engines throughout the ship. This all took about an hour or so before he started to make his way to the bridge where the pilots would normally be.

Those on the ship would notice the change in the ship. Her house lights would be a bit brighter and the air would regulate much cleaner and quieter with a force behind it.

Ross sat in her Captain's office looking over a few large books. The hand writing was no doubt hers. Each new entry was labeled 'Captain's Log'. And each one was dated well with the exact star date and such titles needed. But the content of entry was what she was really looking at. She had started them almost five years ago when the Gallion first touched the Black. She smiled as she could remember so many people that had come and gone on their travels. Most were just passengers, while others were lost crew members. Only a few would remember these people... And a very small few that was.

She looked up to the lights as the room got brighter. She closed the large heavy book knowing all too well what this meant. This meant they were getting close.... Very close to their next destination. They hadn't had much work in the past few years, but somehow they were able to keep the Gallion in the air. They had finally found something worth the time and money. A large shipment of minerals and such form outer planets. They already had the goods covering one of their much larger hangers ready to be delivered to one of the smaller inner planets.

Ross left her office and started to make her way to the bridge where she knew she would soon find Shin if he was not there yet. She walked onto the bridge and smiled a little to herself as she saw Shin sitting at his Navigation's section. Tapping away on the controls and on his trusty tablet. The room was quiet.... Too quiet....

She narrowed her eyes as she looked around the large bridge. Something or more like someone was missing...

She looked back to the main entrance, or the only entrance to the bridge. She let out a light sigh before turning back to shin and walking over to him. He didn't seem to notice her as he still had his ear pieces in and his music of course was blasting into his ears.

She pulled one of the ear buds out, "Where's Aeva?" She asked. Shin jumped at the sound of her voice and almost fell out of his chair. His heart raced as he placed a hand on his chest. "Fuck Ross...." He huffed.

Ross dropped the earbud letting the cord catch on Shin's shoulder. Shin caught his breath quickly as he pulled out the other ear bud and tapped at his tablet pausing the music. "Say what now?" he asked.

Ross rolled her eyes a bit. "Aeva... The big angel guy? Where is he?" She asked. Shin shrugged nonchalantly at her question. He let his hands and half of his attention still focus on the controls before him. "Don't know really." He told her. Shin showed no signs in caring about the Avalon what so ever. But this would be seen as normal. The two got along........ But.... there was always a but involved....

But they were very aggressive with their words towards one another. Arguing at all seconds of being in the other company... Ross could not think of one time where the two could be in the same room without insulting one another. But they both did do good work together. the Gallion could thank them for that.

Ross wandered around the bridge for a minute. Letting her eyes look over the unused pilot chairs and control panels. Her eyes shifted and looked to the grand window taking over one third of the front part of the room. Every time this one spot would get her. seeing the planets coming into view as they prepared to land. Seeing the planet and space in all it's glory. Ross thought she would be use to it by now....... But she liked that she had yet to find this scene before her boring.

Meanwhile........

Val found herself in her main med bay going over files and tests she had on her computer. She was more happy with Aeva's tests than anything. It was nice that Ross participated in he studies and sometimes passengers would be ever so kind as to help her out.... But she grumbled and narrowed her eyes when she glanced at all the people she had in her data base. She had files done on all the crew members and previous ones from the past except one. Edward Shin. She hated the fact that he would never register himself into the computer's system nor would he let her do check ups on him.

There were times where the Navigator would even become almost deathly ill and he still refused her assistance. She had voiced this repeatedly to Ross and even saw that the Captain had no control over the Navigation Pilot.

She let out a large huff of air knowing that only one person on the ship really listened to her complaints about the mater. Aeva.... Ever since he joined the crew the ship had been a bit more active and lively. She smiled as she reviewed over his files, feeling like she had known him for much longer than he had been on the ship. He was indeed a looker.... But she felt a bigger connection with the Avalon.

Val snapped out of her daze when she noticed the lights and air had brightened up. She looked around and then to the time on her screen. They would be landing planet side in less than an hour or so.

She got up from her desk and was quick to move about the med bay making sure she would place away anything that could harm others in the landing. The landings were normally smooth.... But one would never really know when the Gallion would loose her grace. Even after all this time... Val was still in shock and aww at how well the Gallion preformed. She knew nothing about engines or ships.... But this one... this one she knew was special.

Phillip sat upon a pile of spare parts in an unused cargo hold in the depths of the Gallion. The area was illuminated by a handful of chemical lights hanging from a stand of rope tied in the center of the room. In the dim green light Phillip carefully cut, wrapped, and soldered wire for his homemade explosives. His tall, thin frame hunched over an improvised table made of sheet metal welded together haphazardly. The former insurgent wore a pair of thick black plastic rimmed glasses, and squinted carefully as he inspected his work. One faulty connection could mean an incomplete circuit, and an explosive death. Once satisfied with the wires, Phillip wired them into a variety of triggers. Light switches, pressure plates, lamps, any miscellaneous item was a possible source of detonation for the bombmaker's handiwork.

Lighting a Kodryltox coil, Phillip tested each of the detonation triggers, insuring that there was no chance of accidental detonation. Voltmeter in hand, he leaned back and exhaled a cloud of purple smoke. The coils produced a smoke that the human body metabolized into a powerful stimulant. Phillip had first been introduced to the wildly addictive chemical in the fields of his home planet. Many farmers relied upon it to keep them awake and working during times of sickness or exhaustion. As a young soldier, Phillip had also carried the habit with him into the long hours of bombmaking and guerrilla warfare. As a mercenary, he still needed the ability to sleep a few hours every few days and remain functional.

Phillip packed away the finished triggers in a metal box next to his worktable. He locked it and tucked the key into his pocket. There was always a market for cheap improvised bombs in the outer planets and the rim worlds. Collapsing onto his homemade bed, Phillip retrieved his tablet from his bedside table. He inhaled more of the acrid smoke as he typed in his password and checked his messages. Taking note of the usual correspondence from his friends back on Yastrilles, he played a traditional sailor's song from his home planet and began to contemplate what to tell his former comrades.

Typing out his responses to his hometown friends, comrades from the Green Storm, and beloved brother, Phillip sat with a thoughtful expression on his pale face. He went back and forth about wanting to return to his tumultuous home planet. It was his birthplace, and the land that he had fought for four years to free, but he couldn't help but feel hopeless about uniting his fellow Yastrilli. For six years his people had been at war with one another. Perhaps he was better removed from such a bloodbath. Sighing, Phillip sat aside his tablet. Writing was a chore, and became even more so when he didn't know what to put into words. Was it guilt? Regret? Frustration? He didn't know, and wanted to wait until whatever it was passed.

As he lit a new coil, Phillip felt the reassuring hum of the lights above him finally beginning to glow, and the vents beneath him beginning to force out more precious air. Soon the ship was going to be landing. He slowly rose from his bed and lumbered over to his duffel bag. He would likely be needed come landfall, and hence, wanted to be prepared. Phillip changed into a new set of contemporary spacer's clothing, rubber coated boots, oil-stained gray pants and an old Green Storm uniform sweater. He fastened an old fashioned leather pistol belt around his waist and rambled his way to the bridge. Out of place among the bridge crew, Phillip leaned up against a pillar and waited for landfall.

The angelic man hummed a song passively as he flew high up into the generator room, his fingers drumming across his custom datapad at mind boggling speeds. Shin was flipping and altering the engines while Aeva was routing the power properly and taking care of any flares of energy that came through the system. It also served as a good opportunity to stretch his massive wings out freely and fly around a bit. The crew of the Gallion did their best to accommodate for the psuedo-angel's anatomical needs and he was grateful but the times he got to fly around openly were far and few in between. Not to mention, Aeva was a big guy without the wings.... With the wings he took a whole hallway if he didn't tuck them in as close as he could. It was funny how they had such a large ship but those damn corridors weren't all that big. Add in the junk that the porcupine of a man Shin always left behind and you had a damn disaster for the ex-military agent. Aeva swore that Shin did it on purpose just to piss him off.

The power was humming nicely throughout the ship and there seemed to be little to no hiccups in the power routing. At least none that the winged man couldn't handle in a few rapid fire taps. All they had to do was land now and that was the easy part. At least in Aeva's mind, which was now drifting to the lovely doctor in the medical bay. The man honestly just couldn't get enough of her and while they weren't an item or anything, she knew very well about his attraction towards her. The greatest part was Aeva felt it too from her. Many a time he imagined how things would be if they got a vacation together or something. Perhaps they could go to his home planet and he could introduce her to his family and take her flying high into the clear skies.

"Everything is good down here. Try not to kill us all Shin. I know its a hard task for you to do something right but try this time, alright? For the children." He said over the comms before chuckling and landing quietly on the metal floors. The avian sat down in the one of the chairs and strapped in for the landing. Shin might make it a bit bumpy just to mess with him so he might as well be prepared.

Shin was very much unaware of Philip joining him and Ross on the bridge at this point. No his attention was on the intercom coming from his tablet. The Angel's words already striking a cord with him as he spoke.

Ross glanced over her shoulder seeing Philips. He was ready for landing it seemed and ready to take care of business as that was their main objective. She had no time to nod to the other when she heard the outburst coming from Shin. "Something right?!" Shin asked the tablet. The com was not on as he grumbled at Aeva's words. "Something right my ass..... Stupid winged know-it-all." Shin muttered to himself. Yes the two had such a relationship with one another. Ross rolled her eyes at this. Nothing like hearing the two argue and curse at one another... It just placed her in a good mood today. Normally if she had heard too much of it she would just get angry with the two. But times like these just made her feel like nothing would change. She liked that.

But then again, she would hope that somethings would change. Like them getting more work or them getting more of a crew so they could get more work. She let herself turn back to the main windows as the ship started to turn and enter into the planet's atmosphere. It would start off with a light rumble, then a large shake as the heat increased on the outside of the ship.

Shin still mumbling about Aeva's words, he seemed to focus better with piloting the ship. Something about their arguments or little tech rivalries made Shin do better at what ever task he was doing at the time.

Ross found a seat at one of the pilot chairs, she strapped herself in for landing. She would never pilot the Gallion... Never ever, not ever. She was a Captain, not a pilot. She looked to the control board before her and noticed the small layer of dust collecting on them. All five pilot seats had yet to be used except once. They once had a good pilot. Well a very interesting one. They also use to have a crew with many interesting faces and stories.

She brushed her hand across the controls and removed some of the dust. DJ use to sit in this exact spot. He was indeed a character and so was the young Rider he had left with. She smiled remembering their names and faces.

Charlie was a young rider who always placed her best foot forward even though she was young and still lacked a lot of knowledge of life. She had left with DJ as the two took their lives to a planet sin. The one planet Shin refused to ever land on.... Edison.

Then there was Issac and his daughter. A mechanic who lived for his family. They found the Gallion to be very much suited for their needs, but Issac was offered a better job with better pay. She understood his decision to leave the Gallion far behind. But that didn't mean she still missed them.

Raven left to join a fighting ship as a lead Rider. As hot headed as she was.... The girl was worth the offer of her talents.

Ross frowned as she thought of Dax.... An old friend who had to leave due to family issues. A sad day that was. She had known him for years..... and it was sad to see her First Mate leave so quickly. But that was all in the past....

She looked up to see that they were ever so close to landing. A new beginning was stirring in the mixing pot for the Gallion. She could feel the winds of change... Or was that just the fresh air coursing through the ship's air vents? She wasn't sure, but had a good guess.

The ship rattled and bummed a bit, this was normal as it was getting closer and closer to the ground.

The cities built up to the skies on this inner planet were a sight to see. They were large and went on beyond the distance in their view.

The ship landed with a few small bumps and clunks here or there. Ross nodded as this had to have been one of their best landings. she already knew that on the outside the people watching ships come and go would be memorized by the Gallion alone. She was not your average ship and she knew how to draw attention with her amazing and breath taking landings and take off.

She unbuckled and looked over her shoulder to already see Shin rushing off the bridge. His tasks were always non stop and he was always moving about taking with him his trusty tablet. She could hear the engines already starting to power down and with each passing minute the ship would get quieter and quieter as Shin manually turned off what he needed.

Ross got up from her seat and headed over to Philips. She looked to her waist and adjusted her leg strap for her own two guns. "You ready?" she asked as she didn't even wait for an answer. She started to make her way down to their main hanger door. They would have to meet with the buyer first and then arrange how the buyer would remove the goods from the hanger the minerals were stored in. She lead the way hoping or subconsciously knowing that Philips would be right behind her.

Seethus was knocked from his place of sleep by the ships landing, hitting the ground with a strange squish sound "I bloody hate the pilot of this ship" he mumbled, he picked himself up of the ground, using his beady red eyes to scan the area to ensure no one saw him, not that he had to stay hidden but he had isolated himself for so long now that he wonder if his existence had been forgotten. He began his long swaying stride down the halls of the engine room he liked to hide in, no one ever went down there save for a few members of the ships crew. He continued his stride but stopped with a slight sway for he heard movement, movement of a small group of people "The crew!" he thought to himself, He had been wandering around the ships halls, something he did rather often so he must of ended up near the hangar door, continued to slink his way through the halls, he knew eavesdropping wasn't polite but he was incredibly bored and if they saw him it would just make the situation more interesting.

He began to enter the parts of the ship he wasn't as familiar with so he took a greater caution towards his excursion, he wondered what voices he would hear, would there be new ones?. He took a moment to think about how many pieces his life had fallen into "This is all i look forward too now?....listening to people talk, hoping they don't see me". He pushed the thoughts from his mind, he was making the best of what he had. He often pondered the identities of the crew he had seen a few of them, the pale one with black hair who seemed to enjoy blasting terrible music into his ears. The great winged one was a sight and one that Seethus was scared by, those great wings, like a predator a flight.

He was very much out of his familiar territory now, but he was close enough to hear the people walking to the hanger door so he began to listen in, completely forgetting that he left his back to the open.

The ship slowed in its descent to the planet's surface and Aeva was pleasantly surprised to feel that this was the smoothest landing they had ever had. There had been an incident in the past where a bad landing caused his collarbone to break and his shoulder to become dislocated. The emergency seats were made for humanoids and while that applied to the Avian, it didn't really account for the mass of muscle and feathers on his back. So the Avalon always sat awkwardly in the seats and rough landings were even rougher on his light bone structure. Good thing the man healed fairly quickly due to his past with the military and their little.... projects.

Soon as the engines started to come offline, Aeva ran the automated program he had for the shutdown sequence to make sure there were no power fluctuations while he went to get ready for the disembarkment. The angelic being rushed down hallways to his quarters where he strapped on a pistol, slung his high quality pulse rifle outfitted for long range engangments, and a few extra mags for the rifle. The man reached over and grabbed a rebreather off of his desk just in case things in the sky got a little hairy. The Orthlinian then started making his way back through the crisscrossing, winding pathways that was the Gallion in a run. He was trying to get to the hangar doors and sure enough, he got there thanks to that nearly flawless memory of his. Though that memory didn't always come in handy when Aeva laid eyes on that..... odd tentacle creature that had been picked up some time ago as a passenger.

The avalon tapped the tentacle creature on the shoulder as he walked past him, "Its not polite to stare. If you have something to say, then say it." The cephalopod's fear of Aeva's predatory nature was not unwarranted. As he passed by into the hangar, the pseudo-angel's flawless features and crimson eyes scanned the alien's entire face one time in the blink of an eye. Every detail, marking, blemish or wrinkle was accounted for and what it looked like for Seethus was like Aeva was a hawk watching a mouse for a second. A literal second of an unblinking, unflinching stare as his eyes moved sporadically over his face.

The winged man approached the captain from behind and cleared his throat to announce his presence, "You're eye in the sky is here. Can't pass up the opportunity to get some wind underneath my wings. Speaking of..."

The male switched on his comms to contact Val, his husky voice chiming in over her side, "Val, after we run these supplies, let me take you out flying for a bit. Skies aren't the same without you up there." His tone was a bit flirtatious but his offer was genuine as always. Anyone could tell the birdman was practically head over heels for that doctor lady.

Phillip wordlessly nodded and followed Ross, staying close to her left side, the traditional position for most bodyguards. He didn't yet know what to make of the captain, but was loyal to her nonetheless. That she was at least part pirate was easy to deduce. The rest was somewhat pf a mystery to Phillip, however. The only women he had known were farm girls from his home planet and spacers from his previous assignments. Ross was different. She carried a sense of power with her, seemingly naturally. This was very much foreign to him, due to Yastrilles' male dominated culture. Until Phillip knew more about the captain, he would treat her as he did every other being who contracted his services. Polite, but distant.

"Captain, do you expect trouble with your buyer?" Phillip asked softly. "It's not every day you see crewmen carrying longarms." he explained, having noticed that the avian mechanic was toting more firearms than himself. The tentacle creature seemed unarmed, but having came into contact with similar species he knew that they didn't need weapons to be dangerous. Most Yastrilli hated and feared aliens, due to the diverse militaries that had once occupied their planet, but Phillip was slightly more open-minded due to his time as a spacer. After all, his current company was all he had to rely on planetside.

As the hangar doors opened, Phillip pulled his sweater sleeves up to his elbows. The air wasn't warm enough to be unpleasant, but wasn't exactly cool enough to be comfortable either. Overpaid Killer had been tattooed on the outside of his right forearm in rough black scrawl. The faded tattoo was a relic of his time with a ruthless group of mercenaries working in the rim planets. The pale soldier of fortune lit a new Kodryltox coil and opened the side door of a shuttle. Usually larger ships used smaller vessels like these to navigate away from the landing area to save the trouble of walking. "All aboard aye?" he suggested. "I don't exactly get paid by the hour you know." Phillip added in a light tone, making the best of an uncertain situation. As he stood be the door he ran his hand over the handle of his revolver. It was a masterpiece of gunsmithing, holding seven shots of energy cored armor penetrating rounds. The large frame made the weapon impossible to conceal, but also provided a comforting weight to his hip.

As Ross made her way to the hanger with the others she couldn't help the small laugh from Aeva's comment to Val. No one on the ship could miss the attraction between the two. She fixed her ear piece before joining Philip on the drop ship.

Val perked up at the sound of Aeva's voice coming from her tablet. She was gathering some things together for the drop. She knew she would not be going down with the others for the first drop, but she would go on the second. She rushed over to the tablet dropping a few things in her hands here or there as she tried to respond to Aeva's question. Balancing herself she pressed the button, "That sounds amazing." She smiled and let go of the button when something else fell. A small crash sound was heard from her end of the coms before she let the button go. "Not again..." She grumbled as she tried to place things down to clean up what broke.

Ross shook her head as she got into the drop ship and took the second pilot's seat. Even in the drop ships, she would never fly anything with a motor it seemed. Ross strapped herself in as she waited for Aeva and Phillip. They would need to fly down to the main hanger by the tower for the landing area. From there they would meet up with their buyer and the buyer would send over people to remove the goods from the Gallion. The job was simple unlike most jobs they get out in the outer and rim planets. She was actually surprised at how much they were paying for something so simple. It made her think a bit about the job. Was it really that simple? Or was there something more to it?

Shin finally finished with the engines and the Gallion was finally resting after her long journey. He made his way to the hanger where the others were and found the control panel for the main doors. He tapped away at his tablet before truing to the control panel. Normally shin would drive the drop ship, but this was the inner planets. Shin always kept far away from Edison and the inner and outer planets. Any job that took place in these rings Shin would stick to the ship. He may venture away from the Gallion for parts and a few other things, but he would always try to do those tasks at night time or when less people were moving about on the streets.

He looked to his tablet as the doors slowly opened. "You're all good Ross." He stated with a dull tone in his voice.

Ross nodded at this before turning to Phillip and Aeva, "We can leave now." She told them.

"Aye." Phillip responded with a nod, pulling the dropship door shut. He took his place directly opposite the door and secure the strap around his waist. Being tossed around at high velocity was most detrimental to one's health. The mercenary leaned back into his chair and smoked thoughtfully. He would have liked to have had more assistance for this particular task. A larger security element aboard the ship would guarantee the safety of the cargo, and a more substantial bodyguard detail would do the same for the Captain and crew that were to handle the meeting. He supposed that he was the only hired hand due to cost considerations, and a mistrust of mercenaries from established organizations. After all, a group of soldiers for hire were much more likely to turn on their employer than a lone one.

Concerns about manpower aside, there was the odd sense of paranoia from the crew. Both the Captain and Engineer carried multiple weapons, a rarity for inner planet landings. Phillip drew his revolver from it's battered holster and rotated the cylinder. Each round was in place and appeared to be in functional condition. He returned the weapon to it's resting place and looked down at the homemade grenades held in leather pouches on his pistol belt. Each had their safety clip and pin, as well as serviceable fuses. Returning his eyes to the window across from him, Phillip took one last drag from his coil and snuffed it out between his fingers. Remaining observant and active was the best way to ensure his survival, should things actually go downhill.

Seethus was still rather shaken by his encounter with Aeva but he pondered his words for a moment, he was not happy with himself constantly living in the shadows pretending like he didn't exist "I bet if my bother saw this he wou-.......my brother" his train of thought stopped for a moment. What would Morgoth think of him? cowering in the dark, afraid to step out of the shadows and confront the world. He was nothing more than a leech on these good people.

"Hmmm..so be it" he would stop pretending everything was a bad dream. He ran back to his quarters and open his storage trunk and pulled out some old gear of his, an old travelling outfit that had maintained it deep purple color and its intricate imagery of sea fauna and flora on the chest piece. He took no weapon for his bone and muscle composition would not allow him to make many powerful swings and firearm that was too strong would most likely shake his arm too much. But if he was threatened all he needed was to latch onto his targets face, and they where his.He felt...new, like he had matured and moved on from something. "For you Morgoth" he said in his native tongue. He turned his attention to the door again starting his swaying stride back to the group, he maneuvered through the halls with confidence, not like a rat in the sewers. He went straight to Ross and said "Captain...I would like to serve you" he paused, long sentences were his weakness "any way i can"

A radiant smile appeared on the Avalon's unnaturally beautiful features as he heard Val fumbling about when she answered him. He lightly shook his head and wondered to himself how such a woman could exist in this universe and how he, of all people, got to find her.

The Avalon double checked his suit before striding over to the edge of the open hangar. He was staring into the skies above like a soldier coming home after years of war. The air wasn't anywhere near as clean and pure as the air on his homeworld but nonethless it felt good. Already he could feel the air passing through his surface feathers and the angel let out a long breath he didn't realize he was holding. Approaching footsteps and the sound of the Captain's voice giving the order to move out snapped the winged being back to reality and he turned to see the tentacle creature rushing to meet them. Aeva almost reacted to fire on the damn thing with how fast and....weird it walked but it looked like he...she...it meant no harm. Aeva didn't get to hear its words because he quickly turned to Ross and gave her a small grin with a raised eyebrow as he edged out of the hangar. "Come on, Captain. When have I ever ridden a dropship?" Letting the weight of his body make him fall backwards out of the hangar.

All was silent for a moment before laughter could be heard as Aeva shot up into the sky at blinding speed. His massive wings created gusts of air in his wake as he flapped them harder and harder, increasing his speed and elevation. This was what he lived for! The skies were his natural habitat for crying out loud. It took a moment but once he grew accustomed to the feeling of the wind beneath his wings once more, the Avalon dove down and began to follow the dropship. He was the eyes in the sky for the captain and if things went bad, he was probably the best sniper on the planet.

Ross was a little more than surprised to see Seethus in the drop ship.... But lets face it. Seethus mostly stayed to himself and Ross never really dealt with passengers. She gave the squid a very confused and curious look. She kept her eyes on Seethus but her hand moved to the com button. "Shin?" She started. "Is there some strange pest problem you have neglected to tell me about?" Ross looked Seethus over as she waited for her navigator's response.

Shin looked up from his tablet and over towards the drop ship. He rose a brow as Ross added to her words. "Squidish maybe?" she asked. Shin rolled his eye and shook his head a bit. "That's Seethus... He is a passenger..." Shin turned back to his tablet before having to look back up. Why was Seethus all of a sudden up and about. Normally he just hid. Shin started to make his way to the drop ship as Ross continued to look over Seethus.

Ross crossed her arms as she took Seethus' words into thought and consideration. She shook her head as Shin made his way onto the drop ship. He took his seat in the pilot's chair and started to flip switches and push buttons. Ross let out a small huff of air, "I'm sorry Mr....." She didn't even know his name really. "But you are a guest on my ship and not a member of my crew." She told him. "I don't just hire anyone onto my crew, those that have been or are apart of my crew have shown and given me reason to let them have the position they have now." She stated.

Shin continued to press buttons as the drop ship's engine turned on. He shook his head a bit at Ross' words. "And none of them can seem to operate a simple drop ship." Shin stated in a low voice. He sounded annoyed if not a bit angered.

Ross let her eyes shift towards Shin before looking back to Seethus, "Either way my answer is no.... Until you can prove that you are worth the position." Ross turned her chair around to face the control board. "Please remove yourself from the drop ship." She stated.

Seethus tilted his tentacled head "But..i see captain" he said in his native tongue by accident. Suffice to say he felt rather upset at his failed attempt to make himself useful, he may have been a creature of high intelligence but currently he felt like a huge fool "Sorry for wasting...your time" he said in a remorseful tone, giving a bow to the Captain.

He thought on Shin's words, "Drop ship pilot?" he thought, he knew very little of piloting but by his species nature he was a fast learner. He glanced over at the controls for a short time and almost spoke up again to ask but quickly pushed the thought from his mind, he had already embarrassed himself enough today. He took a second to look at her escorts, they were armed, he could not fire a gun, he could cave a mans skull in with his beak but he would have to get close enough for that to happen, he once again looked at the winged man, he wanted to thank him for giving him the courage to ask but he also wanted to scold him for causing this embarrassment, he said nothing.

He began to "walk" back his hiding spot and just as he left the main doorway he placed his webbed hand on the wall and turned his head "Great seas guide you" he said in a solemn tone, it was a saying from his home world, a way of wishing someone luck. But he was far from the great sea's now and probably wouldn't see them for a long time.

Shin watched as Seethus left the drop ship. He glanced to Ross with a hint of disappointment. He noticed that Ross was not phased by her own harsh words towards the squid like creature. Yes he didn't really have any skills nor did he seem to be very social, but..... "Let's get this shit show in the air." He stated turning on his com. The drop ship started to move as he flew it out of the hanger door. Pressing a few buttons on the touch screen the door closed and locked behind them as they left. It took all of a minute or so for them to head to the docks where Phillip, Aeva and Ross would meet their buyers for the shipment they had.

Once they landed Ross got up and left the drop ship. After Phillip left Shin would fly back to the ship.

If things went well Ross and Phillip would return with their buyers on the buyer's drop ship. Of course Aeva watching the skies like always making sure they were clear.

After Shin left Ross looked to her guns and made sure they were loaded and ready to go if needed. She placed them back to their holsters before pressing into the crowd before them. Normally on the Outer and Rim planets a gun or protection is something normal. You never really know what you are entering no matter the planet's history. But the Inner and Core planets have a lower crime rate..... Probably because their crime is more organized and committed through organizations and companies. This did not phase the well experienced pirate. Instead it just made Ross prepare for just about anything and everything.

Ross walked along the paths and roads heading to the main buildings at the dock. They would be meeting their buyer there..... A woman of old age... In her late 40's early 50's. Ross looked to her wrist and the watch she had on projected a small map of the area around the. A path was made out clear for her to the meeting spot with their buyer. She continued on her way not even double checking if Aeva and Phillip were following her. The streets were clean and crowded.... Nothing like the Outer and Rim planets. this alone made the walk a little more enjoyable.

Phillip couldn't help but feel a little awkward as the squid creature was ordered to vacate the drop ship. As a fellow outsider he felt for the ostracized alien. "Well, off you go mate." he managed to offer, not entirely sure what was expected of him in this situation. It wasn't exactly within his job description to assist with the removal of the hapless creature. He let the incident leave his mind as the shuttle took off. Absentmindedly spinning the cylinder of his revolver, Phillip looked over the inlaid rendering of Saint Adriana etched into the handle of the weapon. The Yastrilli patron saint of war, conquest, and victory was a beautiful woman, with prominent eyebrows and cheekbones. Her long, wavy hair ran as lines of copper carefully applied to the hammer, while her angelic gown rippled into the ridges and lines that gave the user of the weapon a sure grip. The receiver was graced with the rendition of her arm delivering the first blades to man, with the trigger standing in for the saber that Yastrilli legend described the lady saint giving to the first warriors of their enlightened age.

Stopping the cylinder with his finger, Phillip re-holstered his weapon and settled in until the shuttle landed. Allowing the captain to take the lead, he followed her at a few paces' distance. As he walked, Phillip scanned the area for signs of unrest. He didn't notice anything overly suspicious, though in such a dense area it would be hard to detect much of anything before it developed. Phillip continued to keep his distance through the dock, lighting a coil and shifting in position to attempt to disguise himself as an un-involved member of the crowd.

Ross made her way through the crowd heading for the meeting spot, soon finding a little old bar in it's place. Ross rolled her eyes as she knew that alcohol and business never really did mix well. She motioned for Phillip to follow her in not long after waving down Aeva as well. they would need to keep their guard up in such a well organized place. She walked into the pub and was stopped quickly by two large men. The two men crossed their arms over their chests and looked down at the Captain. Ross was not up for silly little games.

"Let her pass." A woman's voice came from inside the pub. The two guards stepped aside and let Ross and her crew through. Ross looked around finding the place empty except for one well dressed old lady and what could only be her assistant. "Captain Ross?" The woman asked looking to Ross with a sweet little old smile. The woman was dressed in a white fitted dress that cut off below her knees and a white shall to go over the dress. Her hair was lightly colored and was kept short and curly.

Ross nodded as she continued into the place. It didn't look so much like a pub really on the inside. It looked like a high dollar bar for people of true business to attend to for some drinks and food, with a pub like atmosphere.

"Daisy Hamilton." The woman walked over and held out her hand to Ross. Ross shook the woman's hand and nodded. "Captain Scarlet Ross of the Gallion." Ross stated.

Daisy waved off to her assistant before motioning Ross and her crew to join her at somewhat large table. The table was set for a meal as if awaiting them. Daisy sat at the head of the table just as her assistant came back with a few folders and a few other people carrying trays. Ross watched as the assistant gave the files to Daisy as the men with trays started to lay out food around the table for Ross and her crew. One walked over to Daisy showing her two bottles of wine. Daisy smiled as she pointed to the left one. "Have you ever had a 72 bit Garne Von Brandy?" she asked.

Ross slowly shook her head, "Can't say that I have." She watched Daisy carefully as the man poured Daisy a tall glass of wine. The woman took a sip from her wine and smiled at the taste. She waved her hand and the man started to pour a glass for Ross and the others.

"now then, I'm sure it was a long trip." She started as she motioned for Ross and the others to eat their fill. She turned to the files and opened the first one. She looked over the papers before handing them over to Ross. "I believe everything should be in order." Daisy said as her assistant started to fill her plate for her. Out of the corner of her eyes she watched Ross as the captain started to look over the files.

Meanwhile.......

Val had been waiting patiently for Shin to come back with the drop ship. Her hands full with duffel bags as she stood by the loading docks. She smiled seeing the drop ship land and she was quick to the door as Shin was walking out. "You ready?" Shin asked her. Val nodded as she started to place the bags in the ship. She blinked as Shin started to walk away from the drop ship. Before she could speak Shin waved her words off. "I'll be right back." He stated.

Shin wandered about for a minute before finding what he was looking for. Seethus.

"Hey squid face!" Shin called out to the other. He didn't say much to Seethus as he just waved the other to follow him. With that, Shin started to make his way back to the drop ship to find Val trying to fix her seat belt. Shin jumped back onto the drop ship and went right over to Val, quickly helping her strap in. He looked over his shoulder to see if Seethus had followed him.

Phillip walked by Ross' side through the door, deliberately brushing his shoulder against one of the doormen. Inside, the empty bar unnerved the veteran mercenary. Usually isolated meeting places like cordoned off building were the ambush points of choice for men like himself. After he quickly looked over the woman that met he and Ross at the door, Phillip looked for signs of subterfuge. A pressure plate, explosive charge, or hiding place for a gunman could be nearly invisible in such a large place. Remaining by his captain's side, Phillip accompanied the two women to the table. Still wary, he stood a few feet behind and to the right of Ross. It wasn't his place to sit eat, and have a drink. While he would normally be more than happy to down watered down beer and cheap grain liquor, this wasn't the time or place. While on the job he was to be a professional.

As he ran his oil stained, calloused hand over the cracked leather of his worn gun belt, Phillip took another glace around the deserted bar. Would he have remained on his agrarian home planet he never would have seen such finery. A building not damaged by bombs or artillery shells, clothes new enough to be free of stains or patches, fine brandy and an abundance of food. All would still be foreign to him. Ceasing his recollecting, Phillip lit a coil and waited for the captain to finish looking over whatever had brought them to the establishment.

Seethus had heard Shin's call and had originally thought he had come to yell at him, or tell him something. He was surprised then to see Shin beckoning him to follow. Seethus quickly rose to his feet and pursued Shin, noticing that he had taken off as soon as he had beckoned him. "Coming, Shin" he 'yelled' as he followed, his kind couldn't raise their voice very well. After some "walking" he had made his way back to the drop ship, where he could see Shin and Val. "Hello, Dr Black" he said as he passed her to fix his red eyes on Shin "What do you need?" he said making a clicking sound with his beak that was hidden under his tentacled face.

He hoped he could have a chance to help the crew, he hated being the rat in the darkness. He looked at Val for a moment, he knew she was a smart woman but he wondered if she had ever seen a Lolligo in her life, let alone treated one, his eyes turned to look at his wrist where a piece of cloth was wrapped around it, he had scraped it against a piece of metal earlier and his normally fast regeneration hadn't happened yet. He did his best to hide the cloth and instead looked at shin again, waiting to hear what he wanted of him.

The ecstasy of the skies was an incredibly hard reverie to shake from. Especially when you were an Avalon that was always walking around in the equivalent of a large bird cage. Yes, they had hangers to fly around if the burden became too much for him but it was very limited space. Right now, not even a tornado could limit his flight.

But the feeling subsided as the angel's instinct as a soldier kicked in. He could fully enjoy the skies later with the good doctor. For now, he needed to concentrate and he did exactly that. His crimson irises scanned every face below him that was within 100 meters of Captain Ross at a mind numbing pace, searching for any signs of ill intent in mere milliseconds of focusing on them. Sure enough, there were actually quite a few people that had malevolent intentions but few focused on Ross and the ones that did seemed sexual in nature. Harmless for someone like the captain. In fact, he would very much appreciate seeing one of these idiots go after the relatively short-tempered amazon hybrid.

He knew what she was but not because Victor really knew what the hell an amazoness was. He just figured it was a prettier than average human with better strength...

The hybrid in question reached her destination safely but rather than keep Aeva in the skies, she waved him down to join them inside for whatever reason. The winged humanoid was well in the clouds so he knew he hadn't been detected by the enemy.... Now he was curious.... And that was never a good thing with his people.

The pseudo angel tucked his wings in after a moment and twisted his body then dove straight down. The wind whipping against his skin felt like flames at the speed he was descending. He could feel his wings beginning to cut the air, whistling a low pitch to his ears and this only served to bring a smile to his face as he began to approach the entrance. The guards looked up in mild surprise that only seemed to grow as they realized a giant, flame colored bullet was heading straight for them. Suddenly, the sign she had made earlier made sense to them.

Aeva couldn't have been 15 from the ground moving at almost 220 mph before he pulled the brakes. His wings extending to their full length causing an abrupt halt that sent a harsh gust of wind through the alley, knocking over trashcans and people alike. The angel then floated down gently and his massive wingspan commanded respect as well as his sheer overall size, even without the wings. His feet gently touched the concrete and as he walked past the stun guards, the orange-black appendages of flight folded neatly against his back.

Aeva held his custom rifle comfortably in his arms. Anyone could see that he was no stranger to combat and even less of a stranger to weaponry, given his confident stance. The beautiful features of an Orthlinian also helped elicit those feelings of awe... and caution. Skillful eyes flicked back and forth between the people inside. The avalon memorized exits, possible improvised weapons, entrances, cover spots, choke points, and most importantly, the faces of the people they were dealing with.

Shin noticed Seethus standing outside of the drop ship and motioned for him to get on board. He made his way to the second pilot's seat and started to strap himself in. Once that was done he picked up his tablet and started to run his fingers over the screen. Shin wasn't the kind of person to be very good with expressing himself kindly... That was a true given. He was normally very rude and came off as just an ass.

He paused and rose a brow as he looked to the first pilot's chair. He looked back to Seethus, "Do you want to learn or not?" He asked in a mono toned voice. This was his way of giving Seethus a chance to actually do something around the ship than just hiding in the darker corners of the Gallion. Shin actually hated it. He didn't like strangers running around his ship and calling a corner their home. To him, the Gallion was his baby... And not anyone else's, no matter who's names were on the title.

"I really don't have all day." That was an understatement. Shin did everything around the Gallion. He didn't care if you were part of the crew or not, if you did something to his ship without his say.... There would be arguments all over the place. This was stated true if one ever heard the arguments coming from the angel and Shin alone.

Val blinked as she gently bit on her lower lip. She looked to Seethus and gave him a smile. She had been around the ship for a long time. Almost as long as the Gallion had been in the air. She knew Shin always came off as 'prickly', in Aeva's words, but there were times where Shin would try to do something good..... This would be one of those times.

She Gave Seethus a bigger smile and two thumbs up as a way to encourage him to try. she also knew that if anything went wrong Shin was there to make sure they all didn't die.

**************************************************

As Ross looked over the papers Daisy looked to Aeva and Phillip. She frowned on the inside as the two kept their distance from the table. She would not address this right away as she knew how Captains and their crews were. Some were more relaxed than others, while some kept their distance. Either way Daisy always found it rude when the people she did business with ignored or disregarded her offerings.

Ross tilted her head a bit as she flipped through the papers. She shook her head a bit as she turned to Daisy, "Is there a reason you are paying us more than what was agreed on?" Ross asked.

Daisy picked up her drink and took a sip from the glass. She smiled to Ross, "Think of it as a bonus for delivering everything on time." She told her. Ross rose a brow at this. "Even if it's on time... What if it's damaged?" Ross didn't like little hand me outs like that. She would rather just do the job and then get paid. She wasn't going to turn down a nice gesture, but she didn't like surprises.

Daisy scrunched her nose a bit at Ross' words. "I'm not sure if you are familiar with how Inner planets work." Daisy started. "As part owner of some of the stations just outside of this planet, I am able to get all the information on you, your crew, your ship and anything inside of it." She stated as she took another sip from her glass before placing it down gently.

"You have five members to your crew, one of which is not in any registry, and one passenger at this time. For a ship of that size, people would think it would be crawling with people of all kinds, but she is ran on literally a ghost crew." Daisy watched as Ross didn't look too happy with what was being said.

"I was able to get a good scan of the Gallion as she came into atmo. My cargo was placed in you block C and was well handle." She shrugged. Daisy looked to Ross calmly. "We can either sit here and go over in more detail about all of this... Or maybe we can do a bit of more business." This was not a question as how the woman put it. "I have cargo that needs to be removed.... From this planet...." Daisy gave Ross a very serious look. "If you understand what I'm proposing."

Ross understood completely. This woman was talking about a person... Daisy wanted Ross and her crew to take someone far away from this planet and make sure that they are never found. She probably picked Ross for the simple job because of her past with piracy. A woman like Ross would be use to this kind of work.... She was, but it was also the reason why she was no longer a pirate.

"You're asking a lot right now." Ross locked eyes with Daisy.

"And the reward shall be so." Daisy stated back.

The two seemed quiet for some time as their eyes never looked away from one another.

Ross wouldn't take such a job without getting more information, but a woman like Daisy wasn't going to give Ross anymore information on the subject. The less Ross knew.... The better for both parties if Ross agreed to the job.

"You can send us the details." Ross stated as she got up from her chair. "I'm sure the outgoing cargo will be delivered at a certain time and wont be a problem for my crew." Ross watched as Daisy got up from her chair with a large smile. "I'll make sure you get everything you need." She told her. Daisy went to leave but Ross stopped her, "What ever you were going to pay us for the new cargo...... Double it." Ross stated as she turned to leave.

Daisy smiled at this. "Of course." She said as she turned to her assistant.

Ross motioned for the others to follow her out as they left the high end bar. Anyone who knew Ross, knew she didn't just take the job for the money... She had something running around in her mind at this point.

Seethus quickly made his way to the pilots chair, he was a little annoyed that shin had talked to him in such a manner but he had observed him and noted that that was just the way he was. He still did however give a Shin a very close stare, examining him with his big red eyes before saying something in his mother tongue, making another clicking sound and taking a seat.

He was silent for a moment, scanning the controls, taking mental notes, he wondered if they were aware of the learning capacity of the lolligo's, truth be told if there was a manual to flying the craft then he could probably sit down one afternoon and give it a few reads over and then he would have it memorized but something told him that if a manual did exist then it had been lost to the reaches of time.

"So, teach me" he said in his own monotone voice, poking a little fun at Shin, it had been a long time since he had tried to engage in humorous acts, or maybe it was just different where he came from. He would have smiled back at Val if he could so he curled up one tentacle on each side of his face and then unfurled them again, it was basically the equivalent of saying "Thank you" without actually saying anything.

Seethus couldn't stop himself from giving a small giggle when Shin said "I really don't have all day" the weight of this remark was lost on lolligo's for his people had very long lifespans, unlike humans so time was never an issue for his kind, but he knew there was something else in Shin, a race he couldn't put his finger on. He extended his bandaged hand to fiddle with one of the controls.

Out of the corner of his eye he noticed Seethus take his seat in the first pilot's chair. Shin mostly focused on his tablet only to jump when Seethus reached out for a switch. "Not that one!" Shin stopped him before the switch could be flipped. Shin let out a breath, remembering how dangerous the Gallion and every little part of her was indeed a ticking time bomb. "How about we take this one step at a time." Shin nodded to Seethus.

Val had jumped in her chair at Shin's out burst. This was nothing new, but they were indeed random at times. She watched the two in hopes that this would all go well. Seethus did nothing wrong in Val's mind... It was indeed always Shin. She let out a deep breath still giving Seethus a big smile.

It wasn't very much Seethus, this was all Shin's handy work. Even if there was a manual or a study guide for Seethus to read and learn how to fly the drop ship... It would be worthless to what everything was not. To an untrained and to a trained eye... Everything in the Gallion was ass top-hat round the corner backwards... Basically it looked like a junk yard was glued together and somehow the Gallion was in ship sailing conditions. The worst part was that Shin was the master mind behind all of this.

Shin took his hands off the console and sat back in his chair. "Baby steps." He gave a solid nod to Seethus.

It was like Shin had to pull back his thoughts from the small panic attack he just had. He picked up his tablet and tapped away on it. "If you have ever piloted a ship before this is nothing like that." He told Seethus as he continued to tap away.

"Ok..." Shin plugged his tablet into the control panel and tapped the screen a few times. All the buttons, knobs and switches started to glow in front of Seethus. Shin reached out and flipped a few switches before hitting a button. The door to the drop ship closed as he continued to press buttons. The lights inside the drop pod dimmed letting only the control panel have the most light. Seethus would be able to see what he was doing, just by the lights from the controls.

"Everything is color coded." Shin turned to Seethus. "I'll walk you through everything slowly.... Any button that is green... press it... Start from the top right side of the board, make your way down and then to the left." Shin watched. "Only the buttons now." He added. Shin now watched inattentively to what Seethus did or did not do.

So. Fired again. Ken couldn't bartend, it was a skill he was hoping to pick up but the manager who hired him had little patience for his languid pace, promptly firing him after a week of training. They had even made him pay for his uniform with his first paycheck, so he left with nothing but frustration. Pulling at the black bowtie around his neck, he threw it on the ground and unbuttoned the top few buttons of his shirt as he walked. Digging into his pocket, he pulled out a pack of Wild Rain Siom Weed and Langpor cigarettes pausing only to light the last one, tail swaying slightly as he pulled, he crumpled up the empty pack and found a trash receptacle to dispose of it.

As he walked, he heard the distant roar of a ship coming into the atmosphere. It was slow coming in. Curious, Ken climbed the stairs and leaned against the rails of one of the landings to the small apartments he currently resided. Peering out, he could see the blurry outline of something large coming in for a landing, too large. Letting the cigarette hang on his lips, he pulled out the spectacles from under his shirt and slid them on, the cool chain dangling against his cheek as he stared through the corrective lenses.

"Huh." He brought his hand up to take the smoke and flick the ashes towards the ground before turning to climb up the rest of the stairs, past his own room, to the emergency ladder that led to the rooftop. Jumping with ease, he grabbed onto the rung and pulled himself up slowly, climbing until he reached the top. There, he balanced, crouching down and staring at the wonder in the sky.

His cigarette had still been between his fingers and the coal burned near his hand. Ken looked down at it and frowned. Putting the last of the fire out, he casually littered on the rooftop and turned to stare at the ship once more.

It was amazing, like a floating city, slowly landing. The lights flickering on and off were mesmerizing, the sound alone would probably deafen his sensitive ears if he were at the shipyard. With a new ship, came new opportunities and a ship like that, might have a lot of opportunity for getting him back into space.

For a while, he stared until he realized the ship was stationary. Jumping back, he slid down the ladder to land on the stair landing below. Dusting off his hands onto his black trousers he stared at the mistake he made, the dust was well apparent. "Tsk." he clicked his tongue and climbed down the stairs to his own place. Entering the tiny room, he packed up what few belongings he had into a travel duffel, taking his time, making sure he hadn't forgotten anything. He wanted another smoke.

Exiting, he locked the room door and pocketed the key. He would have been evicted anyway, unable to pay rent the next month. Lazily he continued down the stairs and knocked on the door to the room on the first floor. Something yapped as he knocked and soon a woman peered through the crack. He pulled out the key and handed it to her wordlessly. She looked then took it, grabbing it from his hand with a huff and slamming the door in his face.

Mentally shrugging, Ken wandered down the streets towards the shipyard, untucking his shirt as he went. He had altered his trousers for his tail, they wouldn't be worth anything but he might be able to trade his black leather shoes and belt for passage. Shoving his hands into his pockets, the Valk'tam gradually made his way closer to the gargantuan ship, the chain on his spectacles gently hitting his cheek with each step.

Reaching the dockyard, he made his way to the main office and stood in line for information. It was a busy place, shipments coming and going, people of all sorts like him, just trying to make a living. When it was his turn he leaned down towards the man in the booth and pointed towards the ship in question. "Name?"

The man looked down at the various manifests and information sheets he had, typed a few things into his console and came up with the information. "Gallion, registered under the name Ross. That's all I can say for free."

Ken knew what he wanted but he didn't have the money for a bribe, he bobbed his head in a slow nod. "Thanks." and turned to leave, heading towards the landing pad, hoping they had a shuttle already on the ground and someone to talk to. He craned his neck, looking up at the metal, finding the Gallion as strange as it was beautiful. Ken couldn't help it, his mouth opened in awe and his tail wagged slightly in excitement, turning around, he spotted a shuttle but it was empty and didn't look like it belonged to the Gallion.

Wandering across the way, he realized there were fewer people than expected. His hand found the lighter in his pocket and he absently thumbed it, aching for another smoke. Who am I supposed to talk to?

Seethus took an a moment to observe his surroundings, it was indeed very ramshackled but he was very impressed by the fact that it held together, good craftsmanship goes a long way although he could still think of a few possible problems that could be fixed, but he thought that now would probably not be the best time to bother Shin with such things right now. He watched shin tap away on his tablet, it was so often seen at his side that it might as well have been part of him.He did however know how much the gallion meant to Shin, it must have been his everything, his home or even like a child.

He watched very closely at everything Shin did, especially when the lights began to darker, lolligo's eyes are bio-luminescent, so he had no problem seeing, even with the help of the glowing panels and buttons, he turned his low glowing eyes to Val again, repeating the same gesture with his tentacles. He extended his webbed hand to press the buttons, "Top right side...down, then to the left" he said to himself, he then began to press all the green buttons precisely how Shin had asked him to, he then turned to Shin "Is it all that...simple?" he asked, tilting his head, causing his tentacles to hang at an angle.

Shin watched Seethus' every move as he went through the buttons and switches. He looked to Seethus when he asked if that was it. Shin gave the squid a sympathetic look, and nodded as he said. "No." Shin turned to his tablet and taped a few more times as one button on the dashboard turned green. "After you hit that button another button will light up." He told him. "you will follow the green buttons." He added.

The first part would be the easy part for Seethus. This part would be easy because Seethus would be following the lights. But there would be a million and one more buttons to press, switches to switch and knobs to turn. It would feel like just playing with a pattern game that had no pattern to it what so ever.

Val smiled at Seethus when he gave her another strange smile. She had faith in the squid. How ever she looked to Shin with an unenthusiastic smile. When fiddling around with anything from the Gallion, Shin was always doing something.

(sorry so short... Will be longer next time. (^_^).....)
