i want to die. mood: sad, stressed

At first November didn't want to go. She didn't want to leave her family. She didn't want to leave her home. But most of all, she didn't want to die. When the buses came, the city was grateful. Until they learned the were only taking the young mutants; leaving the parents and relatives to die. She screamed and kicked. She even killed a few people in the process. But soon she was taken down the forced to go on that bus.

As November was shoved into the bus, she whipped around to see her city being burned to ash. There were screams of terror, gun shots, and the overpowering smell of smoke. Tears couldn't help but cloud her eyes; it was her
home. As the gunshots began to point at the buss, she hastily made her way to a seat. Around her, she could feel the dead spirits. Haunting her, teasing her. Your parents are dead because of you. The voice in her head cried. She grabbed her head, shaking it around. "SHUT UP!!" She screamed, her whole body shaking with fear and confusion.

She clenched her fist and grinder her teeth. The voice continued.
Blood still stains when the sheets are washed. The voice said, creepily. She couldn't take it anymore. The guilt was eating her up inside.

"STOP IT!" She shrilled, her voice cracking. A surge of energy raced through her body. She threw her head back and thrust her hands out. Balls of mystic energy surged from her hands, burning holes though the bus. She collapsed, sobbing. She brought her knees to her chest and rocked back and forth.

"I'm sorry mom and dad.
I'm so sorry."

"You can't do this."

Jaehlik was dreaming of an earthquake, shaking the ground so hard that it broke and he fell in, deep in the earth's insides.

Actually he was being roughly waken up by one of the other alies, to the point his body was thrown out of the bed.

"Jaehlik, quick! Wake up!"

The young man immediately sat up upon hearing the alarm in the other mutant's voice, able to only see the terrified eyes of the guy through the weak light from the halls.

"Ashworth has been attacked, we have to go!"

In five minutes he managed to get clothed and be out to join the defense team, which would have to technically keep the anti-mutants back while the other teams saved the inhabitants.

One thing Jaehlik started to notice was that most of the alie's were occupated in the defense team just like him, while the buses for saving the inhabitants were just a few.

"Why are there so few buses? There are going to be a lot of people needing to escape and also a lot of injured."

But no answer came, and a dark realization overcame him.

One of the eldest mutants finally turned his cold and dark eyes to Jaehlik, an expression of almost pity on his tired face.

"The council has decided that since there are no resources nor spaces to save the whole city, only the youngest will be saved, the parents will agree."

Jaehlik's lips tightened along with his posture, his neck turning ever so slowly to overstudy the scene.

"You can't do this."

But it was either joining in the plan or doing nothing at all, and even if the twentyone year old found the plan so deeply unjust and wrong, he fought for what felt like days, turning his body into materials that the anti's couldn't beat and killing dozens of them, until one of his own pulled him toward a certain scene.

"She's going fucking crazy! Get her on the bus!"

A crying girl, both extremely desperate and incredibly infuriated, used her powers to fight the alies that were saving her life.

"We're here to save you!" Jaehlik screamed over the gun shots, making his voice sound extremely distant and cold to his own ears, but all the girl did was keep the fight going and shout something about her parents being killed.

This isn't fair.

Jaehlik felt a tremble run through his muscles at the answer, but instead of speaking only forced the girl on the bus to then return to the fight. He saw another young mutant fighting alone against an anti, and so ran in his direction to aid him, turning his body into metal. But said material had barely reached his torso when a bullet shot through his still human skill, making Jaehlik stumble and fall face first into the ground.

The lightskin raised his chin from the dirt, a pained noise leaving his lips as he struggled to get on his feet again.

He intended to still save the young mutant, but upon looking at the scene he saw that there was nothing to save left. The realization that someone Jaehlik could have saved had died was the last thing he could recall before blacking out.

When he woke up again he was on the bus, blood spilling from the seats on which he was laid down upon, one of the healers only now starting to work on him.

"Don't worry, you'll make it through."

Jaehlik offered the smallest of nods, but the only thing he could really listen to were the screams of pain and desperation on the bus.

It would be better to be dead.

Her sexual orientation is bisexual; she is open to either genders, however, she is near asexual due to her lack of sexual attraction to others. Intimacy is not something she is so adequately interested in like the rest.

Her birthday is on
December 31st, 1996. Which makes her 19 years old until then.

Her Zodiac would be a
Capricorn.

Catalina was busy watching Ashworth from a tree when the city was amidst an attack. Her leafy, almond shaped eyes narrowed and instantly she knew that it was time to send out the warning. The lavender, orange sky, the sun setting in its distance, was clouding by the abrupt winds that pushed the clouds together patiently. From Stratocumulus to Nimbostratus, Catalina Veretti put together a gentle rain cloud, waiting as she had done so. It wasn't long before a mouse like girl found Catalina and asked her if an attack was beginning. Signal had made its way once the unexpected humidity came in, and she came to Catalina for clarification. Catalina nodded, too busy focusing on the weather she had conducted to give much of a reliable response.

For thirty full minutes, while working on the rain cloud, changing the course of wind as gentle rain began to sprinkle, houses were a lit into flames and cries could be heard. The Allies had already been informed by now and they were inside Ashworth collecting young mutants below the age of eighteen. There were many of them thus far, and she hadn't minded helping them onto the buses, protecting them if possible, if not for her ability being somewhat of a necessity. For, Catalina had to focus on taking out the flames rather than join their squadron on ground.

Moments later, when a good portion of the buses were in the process of getting ready to leave, Catalina spotted a familiar figure. It looked like Jaehlik, in fact,
"It is Jaehlik," she mumbled. She could recognize his flat top full of bouncy curls any where, even if he was far, and she called out despite him not being able to hear her. Something about that scene, the Anti-Mutants were near and she didn't like how things looked. Especially not in the current transformation process that he was in. "Jae you need to get out of there," she thought, but it didn't matter because he couldn't hear her. A gun shot was heard and it wasn't long when he fell to the ground; analyzing the scene Catalina could only understand that he was there to deal with a young mutant who coudn't control herself. Her jaw hardened, no telling why seeing as Catalina's emotions were on a spiral, but they were relevant.

As the last couple of buses left Ashworth, Catalina allowed her detest towards their current predicament to flow through. Heavy rain poured, and it covered Ashworth as if it was a curtain. She knew that she was doing something that the Council might have looked at as unnecessary, but she felt otherwise as she unintentionally put together a cumulus; heavy rain fell and took out all flames that it could possibly manage.

Ashworth, a city full of innocent people, lives that did not need to be lost, where families bred beautifully gifted children, was being wiped off the map due to another man's prejudice. Scowling, Catalina remained transfixed in the camouflage that was provided by the shadow of the tree she now stood upon. Her unruly brown curls blowing ferociously in the wind as her vibrant green eyes darkened. Her heart raced beneath her chest as she irrelevantly contemplated whether or not a sacrifice to these Anti-Mutants should go into play, but she shook her head. No use in doing so because every person's life was worth something more than the prejudice, the injustice, of those that kill due to their fear and their lack of understanding. Once the Anti-Mutants began their scan, the last of the Allies finishing their fight, she decided it was best to leave. The rain that she once controlled was abandoned, left to continue to shed the fallen tears of many who had lost today.

Catalina disappearing into the small uninhabited woods and back to the truck that awaited her on the side of the road. From there she took it back with those that were exactly like her, despite their differences in ability. The ride home was silent.

Bang. Angelique winced at the sound as she tried to hide the orphans from the mutants. "Quickly!" she yelled, using her wing to usher the children to hide. Angelique heard screaming from the living room, "Mia!" she yelled and raced over. Lying there on the cold, hard ground was her best friend and her almost sister was dead. Hot and salty tears were streaming down Angelique's face along with the blood from small scratches she earned from the fight. Mia's crimson blood slowly stained Angelique's frail hands and her own clothing. "No.. no." Angelique kept repeating softly. "You're next." The leader of the group evilly smirked at the spiritual angel. "Please!" Angelique plead before everything went to black.

Another nightmare yet another day. Angelique took a deep breath in and began preparing herself for a new chapter in her life, quickly getting out of the rickety bed and quickly getting dressed into the cleanest outfit she could find. She was going to miss this place, it was her only home. Angelique went downstairs, carefully making sure her wings weren't breaking anything more before she left. Her wings were half the size of her body making it almost impossible for her to wear any normal clothes without putting two holes in them. Blood splatters were dried against the mouldy walls and dead children continued to sit on the ground, lifeless.

You may think it was strange but Angelique had nowhere to put them, besides she needed them to rest in peace. Angelique went outside of the building and locked the door. There was really no point of locking the door, but it gave Angelique comfort. She slipped the rusty key into her backpack and waited for the bus to arrive. She remembered reading about angels were the children of God. Was she a child of God? If God did exist why would he allow this? These questions wandered Angelique's mind as the bus finally arrived. She watched as a guard grab her thin arm. "
It's alright, I know how to walk." Angelique said politely, grabbing her backpack and heading inside the bus.

She scanned the other children inside the bus with her, the children were either crying or screaming. Why were they crying? At least they had parents, unlike Angelique she didn't know her parents. Miss Gaul, the orphanage owner was Angelique's closest thing to having a mother. Angelique noticed a girl rocking back and forth with tears running down her face. She quickly shuffled over to the girl and crouched down next to her. "
Are you okay?" she asked, wrapping her wing around the girl as best as she could. "I'm Angelique." she introduced herself with a soothing voice. This was going to be a long trip.

Tremors overtook Bailey's body and she wished deeply that her mother could be here with her as she waited in line to board the bus. It was mortifying to not know the fate of her family. Even though she knew that the man who had taken her siblings into hiding on the outskirts was a mutant like her mother and a well-trusted friend, it did nothing to diminish her fears now that Ashworth was under attack. The man, Aiden, had informed her that there was a chance that this would happen. The tension between mutants and the humans for a while now, it was only a matter of time before they took to more extreme measures with their aggressions

Oh, and to the extremes they took it...

She'd been in the downtown area buying things off a list that Aiden had handed to her of necessities her and her siblings would need while staying with him. Bailey was chosen because Aiden had other matters to attend to, and out of her siblings she was the least known by their and neighbors and less likely to be noticed.

The first house to be set on fire went unnoticed by the freckled teen, but the scent is what made her pause. It was unmistakable, heaviness and charred smell that was always followed by a gray haze slowly blotting out a portion of the sky.

Something was burning.

Next, the screams started up and the young girl instantly dropped her loaded basket and darted to the nearest window peering out. A little ways down the street a house was being burned as vulgar insults were shouted damning mutants and inviting them to burn in hell. Bailey was certain later on while waiting to get on the busses that the last thing mutants wanted to do was spend an eternity of damnation with these bastards, but at that particular moment she was filled with nothing but unadulterated fear. She could be killed if she stayed here. The anti-mutant humans had finally taken the matters of their hatred for her kind into their own hands, and were lynching any mutant they could find -whether they were a child or wrongly accused was no difference to them in the end game as long as they were all dead.

If she was dead...

It took the burning of the house across the street from the store and the bone-chilling words of the manager, "No one is leaving until all the mutants in the store come forward." he stated cruelly pulling a disturbingly pristine handgun from under the counter. He had clearly used a gun before, and he seemed fairly comfortable with this one with it's light notches around the barrel, and yet he kept up an appearance as if it was brand new; always ready for it's new conquest, to match it's fresh appearance.

Bailey's looked up with brown eyes shining caramel under the ray of sunlight (it felt like a spotlight singling herself out amongst the others) and stared with a stricken gaze at the manager as he aimed the gun at her hand -he was really so filled with hatred that he would kill a child and watch a city burn- and then she took off with a sprint away from the window and towards the exit.

He fired a shot and instinct took over. In an instant her form turned into liquid mercury and she dropped to a puddle on the floor sliding out under the doors and into the smoke filled town streets. She solidified herself and took of once more ignoring the slurs and threats being howled at her from the store front. Staying alive was more important than what some hate-filled store manager had to say.

She'd ran from however long, dodging murderous anti-mutant civilians, but then her arm was snatched in a vise-like grip and she lurched back violently in shock. She struggled and fought the figure, forgetting all about her abilities with the fear strangling her chest and constricting it like a cold, icy vine. She kicked and twisted, her wavy her whipping around her face, and only stopped when she realized that the person holding her hadn't done anything but tighten their grip on her pale flesh.

They were a guy slightly older her, and were unnervingly calm in comparison to her fried nerves and wired brain as they dragged her down alleyways and secluded streets telling her about the alies and how they were saving young mutants from the town. "What about the adults" she had asked. He didn't respond and her chest clenched even tighter.

Her mother. They were probably going to, or had already killed her. Suddenly, her body ached worse than she'd ever experienced and she just wanted to collapse, but they'd arrived at their destination, and she had to save enough strength to stumble up those stairs and walk through the aisle to find a seat; preferably one in the back away from the majority of the pain-stricken and fearful gazes matching her own so that she could finally let out her grievances for the life she'd lost.

When she'd finally arrived at the front, her fingers trembled with sweaty palms sliding across the smooth, and now warm, metal. A girl that had gotten on the bus before her had managed to blast some holes through the vehicle's exterior, and in other circumstances she may have vocalized how impressed she was, but instead she slumped into the seat across from her (the back was filled) and broke into body-wracking sobs.

"Get up the stairs!" Eli's voice filled the downstairs area as he led his sisters and mother up the steps. Holding his youngest sister, Emma, he turned around looking outside of the window. He was supposed to go 'in peace', but something very fucked up was going on here. He was aware that Ashworth isn't too keen on mutants, but they've taken the initiative on killing them all apparently. Once everyone made it up the stairs, his mother ran down the hallway tugging down the string to the attic. Once the connected ladder lands on the floor, he sends the girls up there one by one.

"Whatever you do, don't come out until everything has calmed down." Eli's mother, Gina, turned towards him nodding as if she took his advice to heart. The look in his eyes didn't hold a mystery that he was devastated. There was so much he wanted to say. At that moment, he felt as if all of this was his fault. Feeling hot tears roll down his face, Eli's mouth opened to say something only to be cut off by Gina.

"We're going straight to Grandma's after they stop destroying the city." She reassured him holding onto his face. "Eli, look at me. We're going to be fine, okay?"

Hearing those words, he knew that they weren't certain. She just didn't want him to panic. Nodding anyway, he wrapped his arms around her in a longing embrace. "I love you guys." Eli says before hearing someone break down the front door. Widening his eyes, he let go of Gina letting her climb up the ladder of the attic before disappearing behind it with the crying girls.

Turning around, he sees a huge man trudging up the stairs stopping once he saw Eli. They stared each other down, waiting for the other to attack. The burly man simply nodded his head towards the swinging string of the attic. "Is anyone else here?"

"Does it look like that anyone else is here?" The young man scoffed folding his arms. A chuckle sounds from the burly man as if he was going to catch Eli in a lie.

"Then what's-" His sentence was cut short when the attic door disappeared. "How the hell?" He mumbled under his breath before looking at a child's toy on the ground. "So I'm assuming you're big on toys?" He asked trying to catch Eli in the act yet again.

The mutant simply shrugged, his smirk broadening. "Toys? You're kind of acting strange, sir." His eyes followed the older man's and to his surprise, nothing was there. Yet another staring war with thick tension. Eli's heart rate was increasing by the second. The burly man grabbed Eli's arm dragging him down the stairs to leave. Once the man turned his back, the attic door and small toy reappeared once they left.

Running down the street avoiding anti-mutants, the larger man explained to Eli what was going on pertaining the attacks. While running, Eli noticed that a lot of houses were captured on fire. Before he had a chance to worry about the girls, the older man pushed him towards the bus quickly. His eyes lowered towards the holes of the bus in curiosity before being rushed inside. It was all happening so fucking fast. He doesn't even know if his family was okay.

Taking a seat, the screaming and crying grew louder to his ears. A wave of desperation filled the bus immediately. His jaw tightened to keep himself from crying. Well this is coming off to a great start.

An Eery Encounter

a collab between Jamie (@TheWeirdPhilosopher) and Arian (@Felix)

5718e49b8901b650430ebd1682ceac061.jpg

Screek! The gate creaked as Jamie opened it. Left and right were all kinds of different tombstones. The graveyard was a peaceful oase in the sea of gunshots and battle cries. Eerily silent. He couldn't stop the rush of guilt overwhelming him from leaving his fellow allies in the middle of the fight , leaving them without his assistance when they needed the numbers, but Jamie had orders as a scout for eens, and saving as many mutant teenagers was the goal. If that meant scouring out a creepy graveyard because of some local legends then that's what he had to do. Hopefully the rumors were true, and the allies would gain a pretty impressive mutant for the inevitable war between humans and mutants.

"Alright, everyday things... It's nothing new, Jamie. What's so abnormal about walking through a graveyard for some Casper myth while Ashworth is burning?

He saw something moving out of the corner of his eyes.

SNAP.

"Shit!" Glass instinctively rose up along his hands and arms, and Jamie cursed himself for being so paranoid and getting frightened by bunny hopping around in the bushes, but internally all he could think about was how cemeteries freaked him out. His skin began to crawl as he crept further into the maze of tombstones. For some reason the bunny kept following him. It was not skittish at all. Why would it be, the graveyard was abandoned a few years ago. Still it was creeping him out.

When he had a better look at it he saw something disturbing about the animal. It was too dark to see clearly, but it seemed as if some ribs were protruding through it skin. "Jesus Christ." He glared at the bunny accusingly. "This right here is why I prefer combat."

At least it was a sign that he was on the right track. This was clearly a mutants work, or ... no! He didn't want to think about the alternatives. It must have been the creepy environment affecting him. "Hello?" He cautiously stepped over a small ditch, green eyes peering around graves. "Is this the residing place of Ashworth's very own Casper? Are you controlling this creepy bunny? If so, can you please switch to a less disturbing animal to control?"

In the distance Jamie heard a sound of thunder and turned around to see a storm materialize out of nowhere and put out the fire. "At least Cat's got things under control- crap! What if they leave me behind?" Jamie picked up the pace, determined to find this kid and get out of here.

After a few rows of graves he decided to go left towards some family crypts. If anyone wanted to hide somewhere in this godforsaken graveyard, the that would probably be the best spot. When he walked closer he saw the weird zombie bunny from before enter one of them. The tympan above the entrance read Celestien above the slogan: Finis est Solum Initium. Jamie knew that the Celestien family were the last caretakers of the place. He didn't want to go in, but did it anyways. It couldn't get much more creepy, right?

The crypt was small and mostly dark. The only light was emitted by a small flashlight. Next to it was a crouched person who was heavily shaking. Jamie couldn't see whether it was a boy or a girl, but he could definitely understand why people thought a ghost was residing here. The skin and hair were unnaturally pale and had little fat around the bones. A frightened face looked up. It was boy, around Jamie's own age. 'P-please don't hurt me!' The boy managed to say, though barely audible.

"Hey, what makes you think I want to hurt you?" Jamie asked moving closer. "I'm here to protect you from the people who want to hurt you." He rubbed a hand down the side of his face wishing that things weren't the way they were. "Look, I don't know if you've noticed or not, but the town is lynching all and any mutants they find, so in response were saving and securing all the teen mutants we can find. That's why I'm here; not to hurt you."

Arian pushed himself even more to the wall. Mutant? What was that. He looked at his hands. The boy probably meant his power to bring things to life. So he wasn't the only one with powers? Still, he was not convinced. How did the guy even know he had such powers. Was it the dead bunny that was lying besides him? Lifeless once more. Moreover, was this all about being mutant or not? He didn't really believe that there would be so much chaos for some 'special' people like him. 'Prove it!'

"Prove what, exactly? That I'm a mutant, or that the humans have gone bat-shit in town? 'Cause I can prove both, but you have to come with me." He looked at the pale boy expectantly. "Oh, and I need an answer pretty soon so that we can get back to the buses in time. Well, or just me, if you decide not to come; I wouldn't recommend that."

Arian was considering his options. He could probably live another month of the food his parents left him and live out his miserable life on his own. Eventually he would have to go to town to buy food. He would most likely be killed before that. Not that his life was worth much, but still ... he didn't want to lose it just yet. He knew from experience that being brought back from the dead was horrifying. He shivered at the fought of it. The other option was trusting this guy and follow him to those buses, wherever they would bring him. It was just at dangerous, but the chances of survival were slightly higher.

'F-fine, I'll come.' He got up slowly his muscles were a bit stiff from the cold from the stones. He turned towards the two headstones on his right. 'G-Goodbye mom and dad. I'll ... miss you ... in a way. Please watch over me'. He turned towards the short-haired boy again. 'O-okay, I'm ready to go ... I guess. Lead the way.'

Jamie stuck two thumbs up and gestured for the thin boy to follow him. "Remind me when we get back to base to get you some food and new clothes." He opened the door to the crypt and walked out into the smoke-filled air. "Make sure to be on guard, just because their fire plans have been doused -mind the pun, doesn't mean that they'll stop trying to kill us." As if to show how serious he was, the screams of the town seemed to raise in volume filling the cemetery with sounds of horror and death, raising the creep factor for Jamie, and he formed daggers of glass on his fingertips. "I don't even want to know what these bastards are going to do with those innocent bodies. Let's go."

Location: The Campbell Residence & The Bus

Mood: Dismayed & Determined

kdvjb9.jpg

Mentioned: N / A

“I would prefer not to be late to my own funeral.”

The sound of fingernails against a metal flask was the only noise that could be heard in the Campbell house. Despite its many bedrooms and closets, no guests were present or would ever stay there again. There was no Tchaikovsky or Beethoven resounding into the kitchen, which routinely inspired Louise Campbell with her cooking. There was no golf on the television in the den, which frequently reminded Walter Campbell he needed to work on his stroke. Lastly, there was no melodious tune of a violin in the foyer, which brought a smile to the couple’s face, as the sun shined brightly on their Vanesa. Instead the house was vacant and cold, filled with sorrow and the desperation to survive to see another sunrise.

The only warmth in the entire residence was due to the one individual who had stayed behind. Vanesa Campbell had pushed Walter and Louise out the door, when they caught wind of the anti-mutant uprising. Her parents never questioned her abnormal ability, but the thought of her genetics causing them harm forced her hand. She made them promise to drive until they ran out of gas, never stopping to look back at the destruction of their beloved city. Vanesa had hugged them firmly with a reluctance to let go, maintaining a stony expression to keep her from sobbing. She knew their separation was for the best, but she missed them more with each passing moment.

Alone and unnerved, Vanesa gazed at the flask in her hand with a look of desperation and determination. She shuffled into the large dining room, sitting at the head of the exorbitant mahogany table for the first and what would probably be the last time. Resting gracefully on the cushioned seat, she stared at the empty chairs surrounding her, pretending the hall was filled with laughter and jubilation. Raising the flask to her lips, she let the whiskey burn down her throat, knowing the growing fires outside were on their way to her front door. She looked up at the chandelier and committed it to memory, knowing shit had hit the fan, and there was no way to turn it off.

Before she knew it, tears began to stream down her face, pooling near her lips and beginning to mix with the alcohol. The acidity of the tears made its way into the flask, but she pretended not to notice as a spiciness touched her tongue. Pushing away from the long table, Vanesa strode into the foyer and faced the door, her flask and her unstable power as her only protection. She brought a hand up to wipe some of the falling tears and held her head high, wanting to maintain a shred of dignity, as the anti-mutant civilians ended her life. Standing her ground, she felt the haze of the liquor, as the front door began to split. When the door was pushed in, Vanesa drained what remained in the flask, wishing the alcohol would give her the strength to face her impending death.

A large man stalked into the residence, stopping and raising his brow upon noticing Vanesa waiting for him. She took in his intimidating size, and neither one of them said anything, simply waiting for the other to act.
“What were you expecting? That I would be hiding away before begging you to spare me like I’m pathetic?” She challenged, discarding the empty flask on the carpet and staring at the burly man before her. “Just get on with it.”

“Are you alone?” The man inquired without addressing her foregoing dare, his dark eyes peering past her for signs of others.

“Yes, I am, and I would prefer if you didn’t-“ She garbled with an entitled tone before he crossed the space between them and began directing her out of the house. Vanesa parted her lips to ask where he was taking her, but his next phrase was enough to make her skin crawl and obey.

“Run.” He commanded with authority, beginning to lead the way down an abandoned street the anti-mutants had already pillaged.

She gave him a quizzical look before following his lead, running behind him toward an unknown destination. Nausea instantly consumed her, as the whiskey continued its way into her system, but she kept running past many houses engulfed in flames. She even thought she saw the Campbell’s car, smoking in the air while its passengers were nowhere to be seen. The screams made her ears ring, and she used all her energy to keep her eyes trained on the large man, as more tears stained her cheeks. After running for what felt like hours, they came to a halt in front of a bus with burning holes. Vanesa only had moments to rest before he guided her to the bus with a murmur of being safe.

Vanesa looked up at him with a hazy expression before boarding, staring straight ahead, as the screams and cries penetrated her ears. Confused and queasy, she took a seat and gazed into the aisle, wondering why this was all happening. Moreover, the auburn-haired girl saw the idiocy behind drinking on the day the world was falling apart. Consequently, it would take everything she had left not to empty her stomach, burst into tears, or do both simultaneously. Ultimately, Vanesa prayed she had the strength to hold it all in, as it seemed she would need it to survive to see that next sunrise.

As Em stayed in at position for quite a while, she became quite angry. She was angry about leaving her mother behind, she was angry about her home being destroyed, she was angry with the Alies. She clenched her fist and buried her head deeper into her thighs. Her head was pounding from dehydration, and the shouts and screams didn't help either.

As she was about to drift into sleep, and felt a soft pressure on her back, it almost felt like a feather. She flinched and recoiled, then looked up to see another girl. A brunette, to be exact. With wings coming out from her back. As the girl introduced her name, Em stared blankly at her, until she asked if she was alright. Did she look alright? Why did everyone think she was week? First the Alies thought she wasn't strong enough to fend for herself, and now this girl?

A dark purple grew in her eyes as she became livid.
"I'm fine." She huffed, angrily folding and unfolding her fingers. It's always been something she has done, she normally does it to prevent herself from frying the person that is pissing her off. Needing to get away, she stands up, unfortunately the same time that the bus jolts forward. Before she could stop herself, she falls flat forwards, hitting her head on the isle floor in the bus.

"Owww." She reached up, and felt a warm liquid. Blood. She shakily stands up, and tries to find some sort of towel. She is becoming dizzy now, and is barely clinging onto reality. She drops to her knees, panting. Em shoots out a ring of mystic energy, trying to get herself up. She completely collapses, the world blacking out before she can even mutter a word.

When she woke up, her head was pounding. From both the pain, and the fact of her lack of water. Immediately, a bright light shined in her eyes. She pushed it away, and blinked. She was in the medical ward. As she looked around, she saw around 5 more mutants that had been critically injured. As she looked around, she noticed someone. An alie that had forced her onto a bus. An alie that left her family to die. He was the only one awake, aside from her, so she assumed he was well enough to speak.

Her face schrunched up in anger, and she rushed over to him. She shoved him in the shoulders.
"YOU DICK! YOU LEFT MY FAMILY TO DIE YOU BASTARD!" Immediately, guards rushed over and pulled her away from the guy.

"I'LL END YOU!!!" She screamed, tears streaming down her face as she realized she would never get her family back. And it was all because of these people. The way the guards were holding her, it was twisting her arm and she screamed in pain.

Jaehlik's dark eyes had opened to a similiarly dark room, not needing to crane his neck to read the time on the clock.

Most like about four in the morning, three perhaps.

The pain in his hurt shoulder had slowly subsided thanks to the healers, and now the only thing he was aware of were the sleeping figures around him. Mostly young mutants, those they'd 'saved'. A sense of guilt and pity over came Jaehlik, so strong and that the young alie felt both his troath and stomach close.

The lightskin tried to distract himself, closing his eyes to force sleep on his aware mind, but to no use. He ended up counting the breaths of the other injured, for hours until the morning light came.

At some point the door creaked open, the doctor entering and offering him an unsincere smile.

''Good morning, for you only great news. You are already free to go, maybe just wait for a last check.''

The twenty one year old hummed in understandment, passing an hand through his messy curls while watching the medic walk over to another bed.

There was a girl in there, an oddly familiar one that he didn't immediately recognize. But as soon as her gaze turned on him with an understandable amount of hate her features became clear.

The girl from the bus!

He immediately went rigid as soon as she grabbed him, shaking both his good and bad shoulders.

''What the hell!'' He watched in surprise as she was wrenched away from him, immediately raising from the uncomfortable infermary bed.

''Wait, don't fucking hurt her.'' He ordered the guards, that reclutantly weakened their grips on the girl.

That same sense of pity and guilt from before came crushing with twice as much force now, watching her attractive features twist in despair and grief.

''I...'' Jaehlik wasn't exactly one to apologize, since he hadn't even been keen on leaving the families to die ''I'm sorry but we had orders, I didn't want so many people to die. But it was either saving some or letting all die, the council did what they thought best.''

He kept his dark pupils set on his own hands, avoiding the glistering tears on November's face.

''If we were to try and save the whole city things would have been potientally catastrophic, but I would have done it anyway. It was an unexpected attack, we had order, I...I'm sorry for your loss.''

He just wished for the girl not to hate him, because were he to become the symbol of the death of her parents things would have become terrible, especially if he were assigned to train her.

Elijah stared blankly ahead as another mutant was boarded into the bus. Were the girls alright? Tapping his pockets, he cursed under his breath. Out of all times, he forget his phone. Were they even allowed to being their phones? His eyes turned towards the Alie on his left who was in the middle of being treated. Maybe he can answer a few questions for him. When he opened his mouth, the bus suddenly jumped forward and began to pull off. That's when a girl fell hard on her face against the bus floor. Gasping, he puts two and two together on what just happened. Pressing his lips into a tight line, he tries his hardest not to laugh.

Some alies went over to help the girl as Eli snickered a little trying to cover his laugh. One alie looked over glaring at him for being insensitive on her injury, but he bursts into laughter loudly as if he was at a comedy show. The female alie who was glaring at him, walked over towards him.

"Stop laughing! It's not funny, she could be hurt!"

Eli's laughter died down, slightly. "Yo, I can't help it! Her face went splat like a pancake, you know what I'm saying?" After bursting into laughter again, he suddenly feels something heavy land on his head before darkness greeted him.

"He'll be fine. He only fainted from being caught off guard." A raspy male voice sounded along with a pen scraping against a clipboard.

Dark brown eyes meet a blinding light behind an old man. The doctor continued to write on the clipboard, knowing Elijah was awake. Letting out a groan, Eli sits up looking around at other injured mutants.

"Whoa...what happened?" The teen whispered rubbing the top of his head in confusion.

"You're in the infirmary. One of our Alies reported you were being, she quotes, a huge dick. So she used her bionic arm to silence you." The man replied without looking up.

"Hm. Understandable." The mutant mumbled to himself rubbing his shoulder as well. Hearing someone tell, he turned to see the girl from earlier yelling at the familiar Alie. Oh man, she seems pretty pissed off about something. Eli thought about a lot of scenarios before the girl yelled out about him leaving her family for dead. His stomach dropped hearing that sentence. His family. He needed to find a cellphone somewhere so he can reach his mother somehow. For now, he's hoping that the raging girl makes a big enough distraction where nobody is paying attention to him about to use his power.

That morning Jaehlik had woken up with an horrible feeling of sickness set deep in his stomach. Ignoring the nausea he raised, trying to think of the speech he'd have to give to the newfound students.

He walked directly to the main hall once ready, not really feeling like having any kind of breakfasts; there he spotted a few familiar alies such as Jamie and Cat, offering them both a nod and a weak smile.

With dark eyes he watched all the young mutants being gathered, they all seemed scared and confused, making Jaehlik even more unnerved.

One of the older alies approached him, giving his shoulder a subtle squeeze, and whispered for him to start.

The lightskin sighed gravely, why had been chosen for this horrible task?

"Good morning," He started, capturing the attentions of the crowd by raising his voice "I know that you might have lost your loved ones last night, and that you might think that we have done nothing. But listen, what we did wasn't senseless-" Many started to argue, insulting Jaehlik and crying out making the twenty one year old cringe.

"Please, listen. We couldn't save the whole city and we're all terribly sorry for that, but there is a reason for which you all are here."

He scrutinized the girls and boys, keeping his gaze set on their cold and untrusting eyes.

"The anti's hate those special like us, and last night was just the beginning of the slaughter of many innocents. If you want you can join in with us, train, and in the near future save other lives."

He coughed a little awkwardly, turning his neck toward one of the alies and extending his hand for the well folded piece of paper.

"You could leave, but if instead you want to help us to make a world in which we all could live freely here I have a list..." He opened it, swallowing at the amounts of names. "When I call out your names step out and reach the designated alie, that will raise his hand."

He expected the teens to leave, to try and kill him, but he was surprised yet again as they all remained set in place and waited.

Jaehlik had underestimated their courage.

So he started calling out names, for a long twenty minutes, until only eight remained on the list.

"Alaura," He called, watching the alie step put "with Elijah Ebara and Vanesa Campbell."

He studied the tall and seemingly about his age guy, who he recognized as the one in the infirmary, and an attractive red hair.

"Catalina with Bailey Garver and Sean (surname)."

He offered a small smile to the weather bender, before returning his focuses on the last four names.

"Jamie with Angelique Oakes and Percy Park."

He straightened slightly upon readind his own name, lowering the list.

"And with me, Jaehlik, November Schuyler and Arian Celestien."

As soon as the ghostly boy stepped out he was relieved, after all he'd never seen him before and perhaps he wouldn't hold no resigned feelings toward Jaehlik, but when November stepped out he felt his heart drop.

Why her?

He offered a fake smile to the two as they approached, the list in his hands having turned to shreds.

(Sorry this was so bad but I'm on a train right now)

Alaura was in her treehouse when it happened, fire broke throughout the city as well as gunshots. She immediately jumped down, and as she clenched her fist the group began to shake. She started running. She knew exactly who this was, it was the Antis. 3 years ago, they had attacked her and her mother and slaughtered her father. Luckily, they got away, but the moment still haunts her until her dying days.

The black haired girl sprinted to her house, busting though the door and running up to her mothers room. She found her hiding in a corner, shaking and crying. She hugged her tight, then whispered in her ear. "Shhhhhh, Shhhhh. Everything's going to be alright." The world quaked harder. She hated lying. The truth of the matter was all the parents in this city were going to die. Not her decision, but a collective decision from the council members.

Suddenly the kitchen door bust open and gunshots rang through the house. She squeezed her mother tighter, then said. "You'll see dad again, mom. You'll be free." Her voice cracked at the last part, and tears brimmed her waterline. Her mom looked at her in confusion. "What?" As the footsteps grew closer, Alaura cried out.

"Mom, I'm
so sorry!"

She started running towards the window, the bust through the glass, landing on a levitating piece of grass. She slipped down of it, and started running to the buses. Doing to the best of her ability to not fall face flat into the fire. She saw the last bus starting up. "Hell no." She stated firmly, and picked up the pace. She erupted a stone wall to block the bus, and opened the bus doors. She jumped for the opening, breaking down the stone wall and closing the doors as soon as she made it in.

As clapping erupted from the seats, she couldn't help but blush. She waved politely, then went to take a seat in one of the many cushions in the bus. She closed her eyes on got comfortable. This was going to be a long ride.

As Alaura heard her name being called, she awoke from her slumber and stumbled to go stand next to Jaehlik, a fellow alie. As mutants began to get up from their seats and head over to their designated alies, she waited patiently for hers. She started to see two that were headed to her. Elijah... and Vanesa? Oh god, she strongly wished Jaehlik hadn't ripped up the sheet.

(Sorry it's so horrible. I have taking more pain meds and it's making me a little loony)

No.

This certainly was not how she had planned her day.

And it was not what she had had in mind.

Vail sat in the soft bed of grass, surrounded by the newly born Fox pups and her father upon a wooden tree stump. She was deeply engrossed in retelling the story she had read earlier, about a princess who lived with seven short men and ate poison apples. It seemed as though everyone was content and perfectly happy listening to go off about the Fairy Tale and talk about unrelated things to it. When she was finished, she reached and and scratched under the neck of the runt, who obviously needed attention as he was not getting enough as the rest of the pups. Vail spoke softly to the pup, telling him carefully to not listen to his older siblings to pick on him. The Fox pup nodded back in understanding.

She paused for a moment.

Nothing happened.

And then it all happened.

Her father, Vail, and the Fox's all seemed to have sensed it. The weather changed dramatically and fire exploded through the air.

Her father yanked Vail deep into the forest with the Fox's right in front of them. If it wasn't for him, she would still be standing there in awe. Vail had on a white night gown and no shoes, so she found it fairly difficult to run. They darted through trees as the animals of the woods ran beside them, hopping over rocks, alongside fallen logs...A muscular woman stood in front of them, looking menacing. Next thing she knew, Vail was being dragged by her wrists through the mud and out of the forest. Her father tackled the woman, trying to wrestle her away from Vail, but it wasn't happening. The woman swiftly kicked him off and sprinted away with a struggling Vail in her arms. The Bear, her best friend, came to charge after her, but Vail held up a sad hand and told him to stay. The Fox, the father of the newborn pups, gave a sad nod to his Vixen and followed Vail. Vail tried to signal for him to leave, but he just wouldn't give. Her father came up beside the Fox and ripped Vail away from the woman.

That was a mistake.

With a mortified facial expression, quickly changing to anger, the woman seized her gun and fired at her father in the gut. He fell down in pain and was quickly engulfed in fire as he jaggedly tried to get away. The Fox still kept following slyly.

That was the last time she saw her father.

She hoped he was alive.

Probably not.

Vail didn't make lies to herself.

She was thrown into the rustic bus. The Fox attacked the woman who was also on the bus, but Vail managed to order him to come with her. Vail walked calmly through the aisle slowly with the Fox following behind her, barefoot and wearing a mud-and-rain-soaked night gown. Tears streamed down her face, but she didn't show her expression.

It didn't matter to anyone else if she was upset.

The terrified looks on the others made her feel sick.

Vail sat down in the second to last row on the right side. The Fox jumped into her lap and licked her dirt-covered face with sympathy. She caressed his ruffled fur and stared blankly out of the rainy window. Just before, she had scolded him for leaving his own family to help her. But her scold did not sound menacing, even if she tried, with her airy-light voice that always sounded peacefully calm.

Vail didn't pay attention to anything while her gaze lingered past the window. Past everything. She blocked it all out. The screams from the girl who tried to attack the man. The cries.

Jamie almost missed the bus, and although he hadn't, his mind just kept pointing out the fact that he almost did. Fairly, he was pissed that the elder alies would send him that far out in the town, and just magically expect him to return back with time to spare. If they weren't satisfied with how long it had taken him, maybe, instead of sending him, they should have done it themselves, or sent that was hole alie guy who could run real fast, but no, he was needed to suffocate fires; even though he clearly failed, and the fire would have kept on raging if Cat hadn't been there.

The morning after, Jamie had brushed off the comments from the day before -reminding himself that the elder alies had a tendency to be a pain in the ass, and he couldn't change that with a matching attitude.

He arrived at the dining hall early, having done some dawn exercising, and made it just as the cooks opened up the lined to get food, there were a few other alies hanging around, and he gave them a brief nod before sitting at their designated table for the day. Usually, they could sit wherever they wanted, but for today the elders decided that they would all sit at the same tables and leave the rest for the new mutants to fill in, so that they know what the alies all look like.

He didn't much attention to what he ate as he stuffed it down his throat, he was too distracted about what Jaehlik has informed them of this morning, about the alies training the new mutants. The others may have been mostly on board, but for Jamie it was just his luck... When you're the type to keep to yourself, you don't really have the best people skills except for when you're arguing or talking about something you're passionate about. Jamie wasn't passionate about teaching people his age how to use their powers. He remembers that in middle school, his band teacher was so proud of how well he played that she decided to have him take over on teaching a student, that was switching to his instrument, how to play it.

It was fair to say that it was really awkward.

Pretty soon, more alies filtered and he grimaced slightly, disguising it as a smile and scooted further down the table. Hr looked around for someone he was slightly okay with, and then moved to sit across from Catalina.

"I'm pretty impressed by the storm move you pulled last night, it probably wasn't an easy feat." He complimented her as he took a gulp of orange juice. "Unfortunately, I didn't get to see it up close because of collecting mutants; I didn't get to figt whatsoever."

He glanced to the side as Jaehlik walked in looking pretty nervous for the speech he was about to give.

Jamie took in a breath, and continued on. "I really feel nosey for asking, but what happened to Jaehlik during the battle yesterday, I meant to ask him, but he seems pretty all over the place today; he really shouldn't blame himself about what happened, because although I don't really agree with the elders on most things, they were right to do what they did. We couldn't have saved everyone yesterday, and if we had tried most of us would've died, most likely."

He finished up his food, and threw away the trash before taking his tray up. The new mutants were just being led in by a couple of alies as he took his seat. Jamie grimaced sympathetically at the guilty looking expression on Jaehlik's face, hopefully the teens wouldn't put Jaehlik's face on the feul for their anger.

"Jamie with Angelique Oakes and Percy Park."

"Angelique and Percy. I need to remeber that," he muttered standing up near the alies, and watching to see who walked towards him.

Angrily, Nove collapsed on the floor. She was drained of her energy, she could barely move. As she got up and dragged herself towards the main part of the bus, Ashe looked back at the alie. "Don't talk to me again." She growled, the went to go sit on the bus. They had around 5 hours of the ride left, and she was growing restless. She kept trying to fall asleep, but her mind kept her awake.

Eventually though, she fell asleep semi-peacefully. When she woke up, she heard someone introduce themselves. As she rubbed her eyes and blinked a few times, her vision cleared. As soon as she saw the face of the figure standing up, she clenched her fist angrily. He introduced himself, and explained why the mutants were there.

As he started to read names off the list, Nove prayed that she wouldn't get paired with him. When he reached what seemed the end of this list, she let a big breath out. And then he said it.

She was paired with him.

Just her luck.

She reluctantly got up, and walked over to Jaehlik. She did her best to avoid his gaze, but she couldn't avoid them. She knew he felt guilty, but she couldn't forgive him. Not yet. She stood at the side of him, watching the mutants be assigned to their alies.

Angelique didn't mean any harm to anyone, especially to the girl who was crying. She must have missed her parents badly, Angelique knew how that felt. "Everything is going to be okay." she cooed to the girl, trying to sooth her emotions. Angelique was quite surprised when she received a harsh reply. She unwrapped her wing around the girl and moved back to give her some back. Maybe she doesn't like feather? Angelique thought, her wings were quite big despite her tiny size. "If you insist," she murmured before finding her own seat. She leaned her small head against the bus window, her brown eyes trying to stay awake. Angelique had trouble sleeping for the past few days, ever since the day her friends and motherly figure died in the orphanage, Angelique couldn't help but stay awake. Nightmares continued to haunt her dreams,

Angelique's wings continued to cry softly. She had managed to protect herself from the anti-mutants, what was so wrong about being a mutant? Was it because they were jealous? Angelique never wanted this, yet she wouldn't call it a curse, it was more like a gift. As teared continued to run down her hot cheeks, Angelique winced at the sharp pain she quickly received. She slowly crawled to the closest wall, the pain grew and grew each baby step she took. Angelique propped herself up against the wall, her body felt weak and sore. In the shattered mirror, she saw how the blood stained her pure white wings. Soft tears ran down Angelique's cheek, she slid down the wall in sadness, her arms wrapped around her frail knees and small items being to float around the hallway.

Angelique's eyes fluttered open when she realised it was time to hop off the bus. She grabbed her back pack with her right hand and left the seat. As she left, her eyes noticed the other students around her. Angelique followed the crowd until they stopped, she had no idea where they were but as long no one was going to be killed she was going to be fine. Angelique sat at the back and listened to the man at the front. Once she heard her name, Angelique stood up, dusting her wings off and headed to who she assumed was Jamie. "Hello.. I'm Angelique," she smiled softly, with the situation they sure needed some happy people.

She was used to them.

The odd looks that people gave her.

Not because she was a Mutant.

She was just...Her. And 'Her' was weird.

Vail didn't want to eat the food that was placed in front of her. She would most likely throw up if she did. Besides, she was Vegan and that limited her options. So, instead, she let the Fox climb up onto the table and sit facing her. Vail stroked the fur on his head. The Fox leaned onto her and made sort of a purring sound.

Vail was always great at telling exactly what breed the animal was. In this case, the Fox was a Silver Fox paired with some bright yellow eyes.
He needs a name...Well then, we shall name him. Vail smiled and asked him if he had a name. But the Fox responded with a rude tone, ( which were yips and growls and 'barks' ) stating that they don't really have time to worry about names. Vail giggled and told him an apologetic sorry. "Would you like a name?" The Fox nodded back eagerly and nuzzled her hand which was petting his chest.

"We can call you..." She leaned forward to whisper in his ear. "Clancy. Does that sound appealing to you?" The Fox went wide eyed and told her he loved it and that he was excited. Then, Clancy got up and looked at Vail, like he was asking a question. "Yes, of course. But, do be careful. I do not wish for you to get hurt." Vail's eyes shifted to Clancy, who was now walking down the table filled with food and sniffing everyone's faces. He was trying to get to know them, but obviously that didn't go well. Yelps and screams followed. Clancy returned to Vail's lap. "I did not expect you to take the walk down the table. Be more clear with me next time." She told him sternly.

Vail carried Clancy in her arms as the other Mutants gathered around an Allie. Supposedly named Jaehlik. He looked worried and upset. Catalina with Charlavail Iuchi. Vail twitched at her full name. She hadn't been called by it in...Years. Clancy rubbed his nose against her arm as she took him over to who she thought was Catalina. What about Cat? Cat like the animal? Vail didn't particularly like cats. She shook her head and approached who she thought was this 'Catalina'. Clancy cocked his head at the woman and let out an angry growl. He snapped his teeth at her.

She knew that she was one of the Allies that killed Ashworth, even if it was for a 'good cause'. The awful Allies that both of them would never trust. They were evil people. Vail gazed at her.

Elijah sighed heavily walking towards the assigned area where they are supposed to go towards. The mutant tried his hardest to push whatever negative thoughts that were in his head about his family. Damn, he missed them so much. Especially Emma, the youngest one. Okay, no need to start crying again. He has to distract himself for a moment. Looking around, he studied the other mutants to see what their deal is. He focused on a girl who was two people ahead of him, backpack girl. Why was she the only one prepared? He sees a pair of wings flap only slightly, causing him to let out a terrified yelp. Okay, he did not expect that. This girl needs a new nickname, Redbull. Horrible, but he's rolling with it.

When everyone took their seats in the main hall, Elijah sits in his seat. Not noticing, he accidentally made his chair disappear with the illusion of looking like he's sitting on air. Whoever noticed probably thought he looked ridiculous. The same tall male from the bus entered the room to explain to them that they were here to save the world. Doesn't sound too bad to him. It also came to his attention that they were going to be partnered up with mentors.

"Just like daycare, not bad." He mumbled to himself shrugging a bit. When his name is called, he stood up walking towards a woman slightly older than him and another girl around his age. Alaura and Vanesa. Now he'll never forget it. "Hey uhh...when are we gonna eat? I'm starved, man." He says placing his hands behind his head as if he doesn't notice that he's being insensitive at this point.
