It's also home to the Casteliacone, the Royal Unova, and most importantly, Castelia University. An academic marvel welcoming students from every corner of the globe, it offers a variety of rigorous programs for all dreamers — battling, coordinating, liberal arts, STEM, Pokémon conservation, and so much more. And this fall, with an acceptance letter in hand, no matter your background, you have the opportunity to experience life in the city and at Castelia University for yourself.

character guidelines.
Feel free to ask if you need any clarification!
How many characters can I have?
As many as you can handle! Just remember that you're responsible for all of them.

Can I apply as a canonical character?
No, you cannot. I will allow players to distantly relate their characters to canonical characters within reason. This means that canonical characters cannot be partners, spouses, parents, or children, but I may be open to distant relations. If you want to reference canonical characters within your backstory (ie: your character or their parents were part of a regional team that a canonical character destroyed, your character or their family were employed by the Aether Foundation, you were the Youngster Joey that had their hopes and dreams crushed on Route 2 as a kid, etc), then that is completely fine. Characters who have official art, even if they do not represent that canonical character, will still be turned away.

How old should my character be?
This is based on public university, so your character should be within their late teenage to mid-young adult years. That said, if you want to have older characters, then that's completely fine too. For simplicity's sake, I'm going to state that characters cannot be younger than sixteen years old, but you can really go as high as you want in upper years (with reason, of course).

Where can my character be from?
Any region that is officially acknowledged by Pokémon is allowed. This includes any of the main stay regions, Fiore, Orre, Almia, the Orange Islands, and so on. Due to the fact that time works in a solely linear fashion, Hisui is not permitted, unless you can give me an insanely awesome time traveler story. Fanmade regions are not allowed at all, sorry.

Are there any limitations on majors and minors?
Nope! Your character can be studying in any program you'd see either in real life or the Pokémon world. I highly encourage players to get creative with this. You can be studying as a flamboyant actor about to start at Pokéstar studios, studying as an ambitious future gym leader, studying to be a kind-hearted Pokémon ranger, or even studying to pursue law or film or criminal justice or nursing. Your character can be an incoming brand new student, an upperclassmen, one that is pursuing a second degree, or even one that is in a graduate program. The sky is your limit here!

Are there any limitations on Pokémon?
Not as many as you'd normally see as battling isn't really the main focus here (unless you're in a program related to Pokémon battling specifically). Players can have up to six Pokémon with them in their immediate party along with some boxed. I have no rules on how weak or strong your Pokémon are, but I ask for some realism with this. I will not accept a Garchomp that can learn Surf or a Meowth that can learn Fly. Legendaries are off the table at the moment, but I may be open to possibly having mythicals if someone can offer me a REALLY good enough reason as to why they'd be with their character. Regional forms are allowed, even if your character is not from that region, with the exception of Hisuian Pokémon (unless, again, there is an awesome time travel story involved).

Anything else?
Characters that are unrealistic and bloated with angst will probably be turned away. It's okay to reference tragedy in backstories (that happens all the time in real life), but writing your character to only be a sobfest isn't fun for anyone involved. Same with realism. No, your eighteen year old is not a doctor, but they could be studying to become one.

Mai-Lan Pierce
2ae4a7df926bef91de2fd81b61acb0c5.jpg

"I hope you and your Pokémon become good friends."
Full Name: Mai-Lan Pierce
Nickname(s): Mai, Mai-Mai, & Pierce

Gender: Female, she/her/hers
Age: 20

Hometown: Humilau City, Unova

Major: Pokémon Connoisseur/Pokémon Friendship
Minor: Pokémon Psychology
tumblr_mugvif9udE1rfjowdo1_500.gif
Personality Traits.
  • Compassionate
  • Soft-spoken
  • Gentle
  • Doting
  • Meek
  • Persistent

Background.
Mai-Lan grew up very familiar with the ocean and water type Pokémon due to her upbringing in Humilau City, though when she was very young she was reluctant to learn how to swim because she found the ocean to be quite fearsome. This fear was present was in spite of her father working a swim instructor. Her father, and immigrant from the Alola region, had a hard time understanding Mai-Lan's aversion to water. Until the age of 10, Mai-Lan spent most of her time indoors reading books instead of making friends. To coax her to open up and acclimate herself to her environment, her father gifted her a Wooper as a companion. In order to properly take care of her new companion Pokémon, Mai-Lan was inevitably forced to become more familiar with the ocean, learning to sail and later swim so that her Wooper would get the exercise it needed and be able to spend a lot of time in the water. Mai-Lan was very determined to make sure that she would never hold her Pokémon back due to her fears, and it was not long before Wooper became her close friend.

Although she gradually gained more independence and confidence with navigating outdoors and making friends, Mai-Lan was still far more comfortable with Pokémon than her fellow children. Over time, Mai-Lan found that she was best able to understand other people when she could observe how their Pokémon interacted with and responded to their trainers. This led to her eventual interest in assessing Pokémon compatibility with their trainers. Once she was prepared for a journey to explore the region, Mai-Lan took her newly evolved Quagsire to learn more about Pokémon and discover what she might want to do as a career. After observing many different types of people, Mai-Lan found herself enamored with Pokémon Connoisseurs. She was impressed by their ability to examine the bond between people and Pokémon, and wanted to train to become licensed. For that purpose, she set out to study this field of interest at Castelia University, picking up an additional minor in Pokémon Psychology along the way to have the opportunity to further study the minds of Pokémon and learn more about their needs and preferences.

Trivia.
  • She prioritizes a Pokémon's growth over their battle potential, but recognizes the utility of Pokémon battling while raising Pokémon
  • She has a mild condition of chronic fatigue, so she will often ride on her Pokémon when going long distances and take frequent naps
  • She can be surprisingly critical of those who don't get along well with their Pokémon, or those who inhibit their Pokémon's personal growth
  • Birthday: June 24th
  • Battle Theme

Name: Dolan Larch
Nickname(s): Dole(his older brother calls him that)
Gender: Male He/him
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Age: 19 - April 1st. April Fool's Day
Hometown: Azalea Town, Johto
Major: Archeology
Minor: Paleontology

Appearance: Dolan is 5'9" ft weighing at 163lbs. He's somewhat pale, has dull short dull brown hair parted down the middle. A few strands of blonde hair sit randomly here and there. His eyes are bright purple and he always has a goofy grin.

He wears a lavender dress shirt, beige dress pants, neon purple socks, blue dress shoes with ditto faces on them, a silver waterproof watch and a orange backpack with a lot of pockets and tools.

Personality: Dolan has always been a bit of an oddball. Much like his grandfather in that certain way. Dolan is a friendly enough lad, but can sometimes say things that seem weird to others. He wears his feelings on his sleeve and expressed everything, including sharing all of his thoughts out loud. He doesn't think quietly. Everything is out loud, which can cause him to blurt out some rather blunt things at times. Despite this, he typically has people's best interests and enjoys taking seizing any sorta opportunity he can. Whether it be educational or simply friendly banter.

Background: Dolan grew up in Azalea Town with his parents and older brother. His father, Aldon was a researcher. He was an archeologist. He studied ancient ruins. Most notably, The Alph Ruins. Though, Aldon was also well known in Unova with his assistance into the Relic castle ruins. Aldon's father and Dolan's grandfather was a magician. He was a psychic, and retired for at least 20 years. He was fairly known in Johto and Kanto but was never ventured out. He didn't care to visit other regions. He was contempt.

Dolan would inherit some of his grandfather's psychic abilities, though not quite as strong as his grandfather, Dolan could lift objects with his mind. Though he didn't have the patience to learn the tricks his grandfather knew. his grandfather would eventually find another young lad to teach the trade to, and Dolan was fine with that because he could be an archeologist just like his father. Dolan met his first pokémon near town. A slowpoke he would name Skol, and his soon to be best friend.

From a very early age, Dolan was traveling through routes 33 and 32. Occasionally traveling through union cave. Skol was aloud to do this as long as he had Skol with him and plenty potions. He'd frequently visit Alph ruins to deliver food to his father and the other researchers.

When Dolan turned 15 he let him join him on a trip to Hoenn for a month. When he was 16 they went to Unova for two months. When he turned 18 his father gave him permission to travel on his own to which set him off on his journey. A new experience and an opportunity to make a name for himself.

Over the years, he would visit various ruins and find all sorts of pokémon of mysterious origin. Dolan had never taken on gym challenges, but he had traveled to various ruins across Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and a few historical sites of Galar.

slowking.png

slowking/Skol - male
Moves:
Power Gem

claydol/Talby - genderless
Moves:

Ability: levitate (Immune to ground type moves)
Talby was met in the desert ruins north of Mauville in Hoenn. Talby is a protective and easily angered pokémon.
bronzong.png

bronzong/Bonzo - genderless
Moves:
gyro ball
hypnosis
heavy slam
future sight
Ability: Heatproof (Immune to fire damage)
Bonzo was a gift from his dad, Aldon. Bonzo is a loud outgoing pokémon.
sigilyph.png

sigilyph/Gily - male
Moves:
gust
psybeam
cosmic power
tailwind
Ability: wonder skin(Status effect moves are more likely to miss)
Dolan found Gily near the relic castle on one of his trips to Unova with his father. Gily is a curious flying pokémon that likes to poke and prod at whatever peaks its interests.
kabutops.png

kabutops/Buka - male
Moves:

leech life
ancient power
mega drain
Ability: swift swim (Boosts speed when rains)
Dolan found a fossilized kabuto near the Alph ruins. Buka is always seems angry but rarely ever lashes out.
cradily.png

cradily/Peeli - female
Moves:
stockpile
spit up
ancient power
giga drain
Ability: Storm drain (Draws all water type moves to up special attack)
A fossilized lileep was gifted to him by his Grandfather on his 18th birthday. Peeli is a somewhat timid pokémon but will usually become friendlier when she's gotten to know you.

- due to slowking's ability to comprehend and speak the human language, Dolan oftentimes has conversations with his pokémon.

- Many of the Dolan's pokémon have moves that would benefit him in exploring and in caves or ruins rather than battle intended.

- Skol always stays outside his pokéball and travels with Dolan

- in battles, Dolan uses his psychic power to levitate his pokéballs.

- His dance skills are awkward and his singing/karaoke skills are off key, but given the situation, he will flaunt this shamelessly and with no regrets.

- He has a bunch of random unknown living at his family home in Azalea Town.

- battle theme!

Fujimori Michiko.

“Insomnia sharpens your math skills because you spend all night calculating how much sleep you’ll get if you’re able to ‘fall asleep right now.’”
Full Name: Fujimori Michiko
Nickname(s): N/A

Gender: Female, She/Her
Age: 23 years old

Hometown: Mesagoza, Paldea

Major: Aspiring Gym Leader and Cafe Owner.
Minor: N/A
tumblr_mugvif9udE1rfjowdo1_500.gif
Personality Traits.
  • It takes a while to get to know Fujimori Michiko, but if there's anything you should know, she's freethinking and elegant. Of course, she's also calm, intelligent, and forthright, but they're tainted by and mixed with blunt habits. Her freethinking nature, though, is what she's cherished for. People will often count on this and her sentimentality when feeling down. Nobody's perfect, of course, and Fujimori has plenty of less favorable traits too. Her morbid and foxlike nature doesn't make for the greatest company and makes things uncomfortable, to say the least. Fortunately, her sympathetic nature helps ensure these days are few and far between.

Background.
She's athletic, polite, sweet, and perhaps too impatient. This is to be expected from somebody in her position. She was born on November 1st to a professor from Alola and a Champian from Paldea. She lived free of worries until she was about 10 years old, but at that point, things changed.
She got a new companion and was competing in large tournaments. Through hard work, she is venturing out into a wild world. But with her wits and determination, nothing can stop her from exceeding expectations. She could quickly become a force to be reckoned with. However, she is currently still looking for a true calling. She feels like there's more to experience in this world. Luckily she has great people around to support her.

Trivia.
  • Her Battle Theme is Rude Buster from Deltarune.
  • Her Birthday is on the Day of the Day.
  • She's Been Cooking/Baking since she was 9.

Aurelia Fiori
0A534A3E-5D57-4E07-BF8C-B49BFA3DE448.png
"Hmm...I'm not really sure what to say."

Gender: Female (she/her)
Age: 18

Hometown: Rustboro, Hoenn

Major: Inorganic Biology (study of Pokemon that don’t display traditional biology, i.e Gigalith, Alcremie, Palossand, etc.)
Personality Traits.
  • Curious
  • Sweet
  • Naive
  • Insecure

Background.
Aurelia never knew her parents. Her mom didn’t make it through childbirth, and her father…well, no one really knew what happened to him. When she asked her aunt about it, all she ever got was a spiteful comment about “A man who abandons his own daughter…tch,” and perhaps a disgruntled expression to go along with it. Aurelia knew that something wasn’t quite adding up, but it didn’t matter much. She was happy growing up in the bustling city of Rustboro.

One day, a package came in the mail. It was for Aurelia, and strangely enough there was no return address.. That was odd—who could possibly be sending her something? She was still a kid, and she didn’t really know anyone outside of Rustboro. Expectantly, she opened it. Inside was a single luxury ball, from which burst a somewhat confused looking Klefki. Though her aunt and uncle were wary of the Pokemon's unknown origin, Aurelia was enamored, and the two quickly became friends.

Living in the industrial heart of Hoenn gave Aurelia a fondness for machinery. She often enjoyed seeing the precise clockwork of a factory running at full capacity, and always wanted to know more about how it all worked. Having a Pokemon with such strange anatomy also inspired her to question about the nature of the relationship between machines and Pokemon like her Klefki, and so she chose to major in Inorganic Biology going into college.

Trivia.

Keys
1672296796276.png
Species: Klefki (F)
Moveset:
-Light Screen
-Reflect
-Trick Room
-Steel Beam
Description: Keys is energetic and sociable. With its friendly, non-intimidating form, it makes friends quite easily. Its moveset is geared towards defense, so it isn’t terribly strong on its own. It does, however, have a powerful Steel Beam as a last-resort.

Full Name: Alex Parker

Gender: Nonbinary
Pronouns: they/them
Age: 21

Hometown: Postwick, Galar

Major: Dual Majoring in Pokemon Battling and English Literature

dbkz6mx-7ae6c651-b6d3-4ecc-899e-1e45e20a910e.png

Personality Traits.
  • mature | Alex acts older than they actually are, like an older sibling or grandparently figure. Sometimes this causes them to be too serious, although they're not above sharing a laugh with someone at a good dad joke.
  • imaginative | Alex can be aloof and drawn to the different, deeper perspective of things.
  • wise | Alex is intelligent and well-read, but more than that, they have a wealth of grandfatherly-advice to give out. Some of it is from experience, some of it was observational, some they got from books, and some... they just made up. But it doesn't tend to be bad advice.
  • easy-going | They have a calm and friendly demeanor.
  • responsible | They frequently volunteer to help others and would not leave someone in need of aid.
  • shy | Alex is easily flustered and unsure of how to approach people first.
  • awkward | While around Pokemon (especially theirs) Alex comes out of their shell, they're self-conscious around people. They tend to follow other's leads, and hesitate to make the first move.
  • impassive | Alex struggles to show emotion - sometimes, they may react strangely to something, or not react how they should.

Background.
Alex was born to rather dismissive parents who couldn't be bothered to know when their child was home or not. This lack of socialization led to them not really knowing how to make friends as a child, with their polite veneer and odd interests being easily dismissed by the peers in their agegroup. The teachers, however, took pity on them, and as a part of an educational showcase from the local Pokemon professor, Alex was chosen to recieve a spare Pokemon. This Rowlet became their Pokemon partner and greatest friend.

Alex loved Pokemon, and grew to create their own family with each Pokemon they added to their team. However, despite the welcoming company of their Pokemon, Alex still longed for the companionship of people. Still reluctant to come out of their shell, instead Alex retreated into the written words of people they cannot meet - books and poems. The vast halls of the library nurtured them where their parents did not, and they grew to become a verbose and learned individual.

With their scholarly attitude, it was natural that come acceptance to Castelia University they would choose to become a Literature major. However... Since they were a child, Alex longed for the call of adventure. Alex has done well in the small-town Pokemon battling circuit, but always shirked actually going on a Pokemon adventure. It was far too intimidating to leave behind everything they've ever known. The bright lights, the stardom - this was not for them... But the travelling, collecting stories and acquantainces from far off, fighting alongside their Pokemon always make their heart pound in an exhilarating fashion. Perhaps... They just need to take this leap.

Trivia.
  • Weirdly anachronistic. Uses an old Pokedex and an flip phone. A Grandpa at heart.
  • Lean, tall, and lanky. 6'3". They have fluffy hair.
  • They tend to dress more masculine. Grandpa fashion.
  • Bisexual disaster.
  • Birthday: January 31st.
  • Alex's Pokemon are all named after literary figures, mostly Shakespearean.
  • Loves coffee, tea, and pastries. Has a bit of a sweet tooth.
  • Battle Theme

Appearance
  • 5'06" (167.6 cm).
  • 135 lbs (61.2 kg), lean muscle from casually working out and journeying.
  • Blonde hair, shaved sides for an undercut with longer hair on the top and back; can be up in a ponytail.
  • Light grey eyes.
  • Sun-kissed skin.
  • Pierced ears.
  • Scar running down the middle of her cheek down her neck, and another on her stomach. A random smattering of scars over her body from Pokemon training and bad luck.
Clothes
  • Hotter weather: Tank top in various colors, jean shorts, and black combat boots.
  • Temperate weather: T-shirt of varying colors, a black jacket for when it gets chilly or windy, jeans, and black combat boots.
  • Winter weather: Long-sleeved shirt of varying colors, heavy-duty jeans, and black winter boots
  • Mainstays: Black backpack with metal within the cloth and plastic-lined pouch to aid in waterproofing and overall protection. White-and-black checkered belt that houses her PokeBalls.
  • Inside Research Wear: White lab coat
  • Outside Research Wear: Camouflage jacket
Personality Traits
  • Workaholic - While being a workaholic itself isn't a personality trait, most of what she does is aligned with the behaviors of being a workaholic. She always finds an excuse to work, especially if it's to get her out of something that she'd rather not be a part of.
  • Spunky - She has quite a bit of energy and most of that is turned into being determined and courageous... which is a double-edged sword depending on the situation.
  • Compassionate - Caring for others was a role she found herself under whenever she was in a group, mainly because she'd always worry about everyone and she'd try her best to sympathize with anyone, especially the loners or the quiet ones. There's always a reason why people are assholes.
  • Curious - Curious about literally anything and everything and won't shy away from asking plenty of questions in pursuit of knowledge. However, while she may be considerate in any other circumstance, her curiosity will get the best of her.
  • Friendly - Naka is always trying to make friends and she always tries to be a good role model.
  • Patient - While she wasn't patient when she was younger, the groups she was a part of where she taught many different kinds of people - young and old - had helped lengthen her fuse.
  • Mature - Pretty much acts like a mother around the school.
  • Reckless - If Naka's spunky nature gets out of hand, she will become reckless, especially if it's to help someone and prevent an accident or injury. Most of the time, this causes her to also get injured, which is where most of her scars come from.
  • Trouble Magnet - While not a personality in and of itself, her behavior (or those she hangs around with) will bring trouble to her.
  • Explosive - While she can be patient, her patience can run thin and the closer she is to exploding, the more irritable she gets until she needs to either cool off or get extremely angry. She is only ever explosive first, ask questions later, when her research or items in general are stolen.
  • Too analytical - While she does have vast knowledge in some aspects of the Pokemon world, she can be a bit difficult to work with and will answer with a longer explanation than what's needed, as she thinks it's all important. It's the only reason why she isn't a full teacher and only a substitute or assistant teacher. She's far better showing her lessons than telling.

Background
Born to Bansyou and Aria as a firstborn, she was brought up in a loving family. She was taught that perseverance, determination, patience, and hard work was what drove a person to do amazing things and she was rewarded as she learned these principles in life. She was a quick academic student, taking college classes after her academia life and learning about the mythos and theories of the legends and myths of the world and what concepts they were associated with. Not only that, but she was a wonderful socialite despite her tendency to take things literally and overanalyzing everything, making her a favorite among intellectual groups. However, she grew to dislike her small-scale fame (while also fearing the public eye in this mass amount), choosing to marry herself to her work once she became a researcher at the age of sixteen for Professor Rowan - or at least get there. Her constant workaholic nature has caused her depression and anxiety to form (along with her perfectionistic nature) from her teenage years, but it has not become unmanageable due to there not being a harsh enough stimulus to affect her performance poorly. The most she feels would be similar to the effects of burnout. During her tenure here, she was asked to go to Kanto and teach a starting group of children how to survive out in the wild, about Pokemon in general, and help focus what career path they want to go work towards. She helped five kids as they traveled through Kanto, and now they have became researchers in their preferred fields, with one of them moving on to be a competitive battler.

At the age of ten, she was given the Pokemon Pichu by her father. Throughout her academia life and that of her field trips, she’s caught other Pokemon in regions like Galar and Alola. As her Pokemon evolved and grew (except her Pichu refused to evolve), she took the gym challenge in Sinnoh when she was twenty, and then again in Hoenn when she was twenty-three, catching even more Pokemon. She realized she sucked at practical knowledge in Pokemon battles, so she found a friend in someone who journeyed with her. With their help, she managed to get all eight gym badges in Sinnoh, and then the next eight in Hoenn. However, she didn't join either of the leagues. The spotlight terrified her and she'd much prefer working in the background. At the age of twenty-six, she settled to being a roaming researcher, leaving Sinnoh to occupy other regions to study and possibly help with others research endeavors, even teaching traveling kids here and there like she did when she was in Kanto.

Eventually, her constant work years later had opened up an opportunity for her to work in Unova's new academy. Willing to teach in a more academic setting, Naka took this opportunity to make a bigger name for herself, but found that she couldn't be a full-fledged teacher. She settled being an assistant teacher or even a substitute.

Trivia
  • While Naka isn't afraid to teach, she's afraid of performing for others entertainment like in a Pokemon league. It's gotten better over the years and has competed in one not-as-televised Water-Type only tournament in Johto, but anymore than a hundred people watching and she gets too jittery to make commands or think properly.

Chu
pichu.gif

Species: Pichu -
Electric (This type prevents Chu from being paralysed via ability or move.)
Gender: Female
Ability: Lightning Rod - Chu’s biology forces lightning from nearby to become drawn to her body, her body hardening to take the power of lightning without a sweat. Her pouches are far larger and more absorbent than the rest of her species without this ability, allowing her to draw in a 15 foot radius, absorb, and utilize the lightning within the Electric-Type attacks to boost the potency of her Special Attack. This ability gives better phone reception, even when there shouldn’t be any reception. It also causes Electric-Types to become drawn to this Pokemon with this ability if she is out of her PokeBall.
Moveset:

Electric Terrain - Electric - Status - Electrifies the field, lasting for a 5 of my posts and affects all Pokemon that are grounded. Boosts the power of Electric-Type moves for those affected by 30%, prevents Pokemon from sleeping (Rest will fail, and so will being drowsy from Yawn), Rising Voltage does double damage, Terrain Pulse becomes Electric-Type, Nature Power becomes Thunderbolt, Secret Power may cause paralysis, Mimicry changes user of ability to Electric-Type, and Camouflage changes user to Electric-Type.
Thunderbolt - Electric - Special - Has a 1/10 chance of paralyzing the opponent.
Helping Hand - Normal - Status - With increased priority, she shares energy with a nearby ally to double the damage their attack deals.
Return - Normal - Physical - Using the power of friendship with her trainer, Chu attacks. If she holds resentment for her trainer or she's in a bad mood towards her trainer, this deals less damage.
Flash - Normal - Status - Makes herself shine in a bright light to lower the target's accuracy, temporarily blinding them. It can also be used to illuminate the darkness.
Nasty Plot - Dark - Status - Thinks nasty thoughts and dirty schemes, raising her Special Attack considerably.
Disarming Voice - Fairy - Special - Hard to dodge and affects all adjacent foes, but can be dodged. Doesn't affect those with Soundproof. Can't be used if affected by Throat Chop's effect.
Charm - Fairy - Status - Lowers the Attack of the target considerably by pouting.
Iron Tail - Steel - Physical - Has a ~1/3 chance to lower the target's Defense.
Description: Being a runt, Chu’s height and weight is less than that of her species (1’00” or 30.5 cm, 4.4 lbs or 2.0 kg). Instead, she is 8 inches (20.3 cm) and weighs 3 lbs (1.4 kg). Her cheeks also look a little thicker around her electrical pouches. She is naturally shy, naive, emotional, and quick to run off if there's danger (even if there isn't). When she warms up to people, she becomes bubbly and mischievous. She refuses to evolve. She was born from a league-fighting Pokemon from Nakano's father, and was gifted to Nakano when she was ten, and they've been inseparable since. She is more of a companion and used for teaching than a battling Pokemon.

Fluffy
flareon.gif

Species: Flareon -
Fire (Because of this type, Fluffy is immune to being burned and the sea of fire caused by Grass Pledge and Fire Pledge. It enables the use of Burn Up, but loses the type)
Gender: Male
Ability: Guts - Due to this Pokemon’s sheer determination and grit, this Pokemon’s Attack doubles once this Pokemon has been affected with either Paralysis, Burns (if his Fire-Typing changes), Poison, Badly Poison, or Sleep. While constant burns makes it harder to use the body in physical attacks, Guts prevents the loss of physical power.
Moveset:

Sunny Day - Fire - Status - Makes the sunlight harsher, clearing the sky to do so. Will last for 5 of my posts. Doubles the power of Fire-Type moves, halves the power of Water-Type moves, recovers more health from Synthesis, Morning Sun, and Moonlight; Solar Beam and Solar Blade don't need to charge and double in power, Thunder and Hurricane's accuracy is lowered; Harvest constantly restores berries, and activates Chlorophyll, Dry Skin, Flower Gift, Solar Power, Leaf Guard, and Forecast.
Fire Fang - Fire - Physical - Has a 1/10 chance to burn and a 1/10 chance to flinch the target.
Flare Blitz - Fire - Physical - The user takes recoil damage equal to 1/3 of the damage dealt and has a 1/10 chance to burn the target.
Flame Charge - Fire - Physical - Increases the user's speed while cloaking himself in flames to attack.
Quick Attack - Normal - Physical - Is a quick attack with increased priority (not as much as Helping Hand though).
Facade - Normal - Physical - When affected by poison, paralysis, or a burn, this attack's power is doubled.
Retaliate - Normal - Physical - If an ally was knocked out in a previous post, this attack deals double damage.
Protect - Normal - Status - Generates a protective dome around himself. It's technically slightly big enough to cover a crouched human or a medium-sized Pokemon. Each successive consecutive use makes this move less likely to work.
Iron Tail - Steel - Physical - Fluffy's tail is coated with metallic energy and it has ~1/3 chance to lower the target's Defense.
Bite - Dark - Physical - Fluffy bites with darkness covered teeth and it has ~1/3 chance to flinch.
Strength - Normal - Physical - Summoning super strength, Fluffy can move boulders five times his size and ten times his weight.
Scary Face - Normal - Status - Fluffy scares the target, either making them be slower and/or highly likely to run away.
Description: Being an average height (2'11" or 88.9 cm) but weighing at 60 lbs or 27.2 kg (which is 8.9 lbs or 2.2 kg more than average), this Flareon is not only fluffy but rather buff for his species. He also has a lot more fur around his collar, and his tail is a little longer. Being a more battle-hardened Pokemon, he has scars on his body, concealed by his fur. He bruises and cuts more easily than those of his species, physical attacks wearing him out more than usual. He is a brooding kind of Pokemon, likes to sulk and cuddles are his guilty pleasure, but he has a reputation to keep as a mean bodyguard. He was founded by Naka during her field trip to Galar. After a bit of a scuffle of Naka wanting a hug and Fluffy being scared, but his tsundere ways came out when she sprained her ankle trying to catch him, and he helped her, only to then get caught. He evolved when he was given a choice to what form he could evolve into, and he chose Flareon because it reminded him of power, and he needed that power to protect Naka. He is more of a teaching Pokemon, and as low-grade protection.

Aero
aerodactyl.gif

Species: Aerodactyl -
Rock/Flying (Due to the Rock-Typing, Aero is immune to sandstorm damage and his Special Defense is doubled in a sandstorm. Due to the Flying-Type, Aero is immune to the effects of terrain, Arena Trap, entry hazards (except Stealth Rock), and Ground-Type moves. Forcing to land from being hit, pulled down via item ability or otherwise, or losing the types will make these null)
Gender: Male
Ability: Pressure - Forces the foe Pokemon to expend more energy when they use their moves.
Moveset:
Stone Edge - Rock - Physical - With the sharpness of a rock, the attack has an increased critical hit ratio.
Sandstorm - Rock - Status - Causes a sandstorm for 5 of my posts. Damages all but Ground-, Rock-, and Steel-Types, and those with Sand Veil, Sand Rush, Sand Force, Overcoat, Magic Guard, and those with Safety Goggles. Activates Sand Veil, Sand Rush, and Sand Force. Synthesis, Morning Sun, and Moonlight recovers less health while Shore Up recovers more health, and Solar Blade and Solar Beam do half damage. Weather Ball becomes Rock-Type. Rock-Type's Special Defense double.
Fly - Flying - Physical - Gives the user more strength to carry people, their luggage, and some Pokemon across the region at a faster pace with relative ease. As an attack, it flies high up in the air, and then dives down to attack in the next post. Can be hit by Gust, Thunder, Twister, Whirlwind, Hurricane, Smack Down and Sky Uppercut, with Gust and Twister doing double damage and Smack Down disrupting the attack, with paralysis, infatuation, and confusion also disrupting the attack. This can reach non-adjacent foes.
Sky Drop - Flying - Physical - Aero grabs the opponent and flies up high. During this time, the target can attack the Aerodactyl to try and get free. On the next post, Aero will throw the opponent towards the ground in a free fall. If they can cushion their fall, use their moves to make them float, have Levitate, or are Flying-Type, they can prevent the damage this attack does. Both the target and the user can get hit by Gust, Thunder, Twister, Sky Uppercut, Hurricane, and Smack Down, but Smack Down won't stop the attack and Gust and Twister will do double damage. Sky Drop will fail from Gravity and targets weighing more than 440.9 lbs (200 kg). Can reach non-adjacent foes.
Defog - Flying - Status - Aero gets rid of fog or things that obstruct his view of the opponent, lowering their evasion. It also gets rid of Light Screen, Reflect, Safeguard, Aurora Veil, and Mist on the opponent's side, and Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Stealth Rock, and Sticky Web on all sides of the field. It also gets rid of terrain.
Roost - Flying - Status - User lands and heals, grounding themselves and losing their Flying-Type for the duration of the land. Next post, they regain their Flying-Type and fly in the air.
Strength - Normal - Physical - Summoning super strength, Aero can move boulders three times his size and eight times his weight.
Crunch - Dark - Physical - Aero's teeth is cloaked with darkness and bites the opponent. It has a 1/5 chance of lowering the target's Defense.
Thunder Fang - Electric - Physical - Has a 1/10 chance to paralyze and a 1/10 chance to flinch the target.
Ice Fang - Ice - Physical - Has a 1/10 chance to freeze and a 1/10 chance to flinch the target.
Fire Fang - Fire - Physical - Has a 1/10 chance to burn and a 1/10 chance to flinch the target.
Rock Smash - Fighting - Physical - Aero summons the power to smash rock, being able to smash boulders twice his size. Has a 1/2 chance to lower the target's Defense.
Description: Aero has a few scars on his body, but not as extensively as Fluffy. He's also a lot larger and a tad heavier due to muscle than others of his species, which makes him capable of carrying two people and their luggage. He is 6'05" (195.58 cm) and weighs 150 lbs (68.03 kg). He also usually has a saddle on his back that allows for more comfortable and secure riding. He is also the strongest Pokemon in Naka's team, having been revivifed during Naka's field trip after she had found an Old Amber and hasn't left her team since. Happy-go-lucky and an absolute sweetheart, picking up the scent of blood has him soaring to find the poor person so he can make sure they're protected and taken care of... Despite the large, saw-like teeth he has. He is a battle-ready Pokemon.

Brute Tooth
barraskewda.gif

Species: Barraskewda -
Water
Gender: Male
Ability: Swift Swim - During rain, Speed is doubled due to becoming slicker from the rain.
Moveset:
Aqua Jet - Water - Physical - Cloaking himself in water and becoming a blur, Brute Tooth smashes into the target.
Dive - Water - Physical - Outside of battle, Brute Tooth has the strength to pull along a person and their luggage through the water for long distances and taking them down quite deep. In a battle, Brute Tooth can dive into water, then come out the next post to attack. Surf and Whirlpool will hit and will do twice the damage. Paralysis, infatuation, and confusion will disrupt Dig.
Waterfall - Water - Physical - Brute Tooth scales up waterfalls quickly and with enough power to pull along a human and their luggage. In battle, they charge the opponent with the power to scale a waterfall, and has a 1/5 chance to cause flinching.
Surf - Water - Special - Brute Tooth can pull along a human and their luggage across water for long distances, and even battling harsh rapids to swim somewhat decent. In battle, Brute Tooth summons a wave of water (whether from the ground or in the water he's in) to attack everyone adjacent to him. Surf will do double damage to those who are using Dive.
Whirlpool - Water - Special - Brute Tooth can create a whirlpool and trap the opponent within, which damages them and makes it impossible to flee unless they destroy the whirlpool with a counter spin, have Run Away, uses Rapid Spin, forces a switch/flee, or are Ghost-Types. Can hit Pokemon during Dive and will deal double damage. Naturally occurring whirlpools can be negated with a use of a Whirlpool, allowing passage through those waters.
Rain Dance - Water - Status - Brute Tooth creates rain clouds and makes it rain for 5 of my posts. This doubles the power of Water-Type moves, halves the power of Fire-Type moves, halves the power of Solar Beam and Solar Blade, lessens healing done by Moonlight, Synthesis, and Morning Sun, Weather Ball becomes Water-Type, Thunder and Hurricane become more difficult to miss (as much as a Swift or Aerial Ace), and activates Rain Dish, Swift Swim, Dry Skin, Hydration, and Forecast.
Agility - Psychic - Status - Moving really fast, Brute Tooth's Speed increases considerably.
Drill Run - Ground - Physical - Drilling through the ground, Brute Tooth drives towards the target and has an increased critical hit ratio.
Description: Brute Tooth is the average height (4'03" or 129.54 cm) and weight (66.1 lbs or 29.98 kg) of a Barraskewda and there's nothing really special with him. He's rather average looking. He can have reins on him though, which hook to a little raft Nakano may have with her (or rented from places) to ride on the waves with her Barraskewda. He really is only for travel across water, and his moveset is used for speed and breaking through obstacles. Brute Tooth was found during Naka's tenure in Galar, where she found him in the water, stared, he attacked for being stared at, she caught him with her garden gloves, and kissed him before throwing him back into the water. He followed her questioningly, only to be suddenly captured. He helped in the Sinnoh gyms somewhat and evolved against the third gym leader, but he's since retired from battles and has preferred to be her chauffer across water. He isn't made for battle.

Douggie
dugtrio.gif

Species: Dugtrio -
Ground (Due to this type, Douggie is immune to Thunder Wave and damage from Sandstorm)
Gender: Female
Ability: Arena Trap - Due to constantly creating pits of earth that shift towards a center point in a large circle, it prevents nearby grounded Pokemon from fleeing excluding allies and the trainers (usually), guarding the way out unless this Pokemon relaxes their guard or the Pokemon escapes faster than this Pokemon can keep them from doing so. Flying-Types, Pokemon with Levitate, and Ghost-Type Pokemon can fly out. Users who use a move that forces themselves to switch out, those with Run Away or Smoke Ball to flee, or Teleport can escape. This makes trapping Pokemon easier and you may be pulled into a battle more often.
Moveset:
Dig - Ground - Physical - Will dig underground, and then will attack the next turn. Can create subterranean tunnels or holes across the battlefield to confuse the opponent if they don't want to attack. Can also be used to travel across the region. Can still be hit by Earthquake, Magnitude, and Fissure, and will be dealt double damage from Earthquake and Magnitude. Paralysis, infatuation, and confusion will disrupt Dig.
Earthquake - Ground - Physical - Causing an earthquake, it damages everyone adjacent to the user. Deals double damage to those using Dig. Will only do half damage when Grassy Terrain is in effect.
Sand Tomb - Ground - Physical - Douggie can create a swirling sand tornado and traps the opponent within, which damages them and makes it impossible to flee unless they destroy the sand tornado with a counter spin, have Run Away, uses Rapid Spin, forces a switch/flee, or are Ghost-Types.
Cut - Normal - Physical - Making themselves sharp, they cut through even thick logs or messy bramble with ease.
Shadow Claw - Ghost - Physical - Claws cloaked in ghostly energy, they swipe. It has an increased critical hit ratio.
Aerial Ace - Flying - Physical - Hard to dodge and can affect non-adjacent foes, but can be dodged.
Rock Smash - Fighting - Physical - Douggie summons the power to smash rock, being able to smash boulders six times her size. Has a 1/2 chance to lower the target's Defense.
Description: Douggie is surprisingly normal looking save for pink bows around each of her heads. Douggie is 2'04" (71.1 cm) and weighs 73.4 lbs (33.3 kg). She is rather naive, being incredibly gullible and takes everything at face value without question. Still, she is incredibly sweet and has a child-like innocence that's hard to hate. She was caught in Galar while Naka was studying, having broken a hole in her backpack as a Diglett and ate all her snacks. She disliked battling, only doing so when they got into trouble and she evolved in doing so. She's only used for capturing wild Pokemon and for aiding in research purposes and travel, her moveset reflecting as such.

Hattie
hatterene.gif

Species: Hatterene -
Psychic/Fairy
Gender: Female
Ability: Magic Bounce - Due to a magical reflective barrier, it reflects all moves that lower the target’s battle capabilities (excluding Memento), status condition-inducing status moves, entry hazard moves, and those like Encore, Roar, Whirlwind, Taunt, Torment, Disable, Embargo, and Heal Block. It can reflect status Z-Moves (but not their Z-Power effects, including Z-Parting Shot’s effect of restoring the HP of the Pokemon switching in), and moves used via Dancer or Instruct.
Moveset:
Psychic - Psychic - Special - Has a 1/10 chance of lowering the target's Special Defense. Attacks the opponent with a wave of psychic energy. Can move objects and other beings (with consent) with this, too.
Calm Mind - Psychic - Status - Calming her mind, Hattie meditates, raising her Special Attack and Special Defense.
Heal Pulse - Psychic - Status - Hattie creates a healing wave and can reach non-adjacent targets and allies. It restores a good chunk of their health and restores their energy.
Light Screen - Psychic - Status - Hattie creates a light wall that becomes near transparent and hugs her allies, halving the damage from Special attacks for 5 of my posts. It can be removed via Brick Break, Defog, Psychic Fangs, or if the Pokemon has Screen Cleaner. Pokemon with Infiltrator can ignore Light Screen.
Trick Room - Psychic - Status - Changes the battlefield so the move order is reversed, making Pokemon with lower Speed attack first (moves like Quick Attack, Extreme Speed, and Helping Hand still go first before other moves). This lasts for 5 of my posts or until Trick room is used again. Pokemon with Full Incense, Lagging Tail, or have Stall will always move last and those with Quick Claw may move first regardless of the effects of Trick Room. Trick Room also always goes last, as it has decreased priority.
Draining Kiss - Fairy - Special - Kisses the target and drains their life essence, healing 3/4 of the damage dealt. Takes damage when the opponent has Liquid Ooze and fails under Heal Block.
Aromatic Mist - Fairy - Status - Creates a nice-smelling mist over a nearby ally that raises their Special Defense.
Life Dew - Water - Status - Summoning magical water, the water is then scattered on their side of the field and heals Hattie and all of her allies. If any ally has Water Absorb, Storm Drain, or Dry Skin, they will activate and they negate the move's effect on them.
Aromatherapy - Grass - Status - With sweet smells, the aroma cures the user and all of their allies, whether they are out in the field or in PokeBalls.
Safeguard - Normal - Status - Creates a shield that covers the user and her allies, preventing them from being afflicted by non-volatile status conditions and confusion for 5 of my posts. However, they aren't cured if they had them beforehand. Will be removed from Defog, and can be bypassed with Infiltrator. Doesn't prevent confusion from Outrage, Petal Dance, or Thrash, eating a berry that causes confusion, doesn't prevent being burned or poisoned from Flame Orb or Toxic Orb, and doesn't get rid of drowsiness from Yawn if afflicted beforehand. Can protect the user from being afflicted with a Pokemon's ability that causes an affliction, like Effect Spore, Static, Flame Body, or Poison Point.
Helping Hand - Normal - Status - With increased priority, she shares energy with a nearby ally to double the damage their attack deals.
Description: Hattie is just like every other Hatterene. 6'11" (210.8 cm) and weighing in at 11.2 lbs (5.08 kg). She is incredibly calm and serene, nothing can break her concentration nor patience. She's used to all loud noises despite her species, making her a lot more decently behaved during even loud urban settings. It still stresses her out, and she prefers staying inside the PokeBall. She is also somewhat vain and likes taking naps. She was caught as a Hatenna when Naka found her in her backpack. She was used during her two gym challenges, having evolved to aid against the gym leaders. She has since been relegated to healing and support since.

Silenus
sceptile.gif

sceptile-mega.gif

Species: Sceptile - Grass | Grass/Dragon (Due to being Grass-Type, this Pokemon is immune to the effects of Leech Seed, Effect Spore, and powder and spore moves (i.e.: Magic Powder, Poison Powder, Powder, Rage Powder, Sleep Powder, Spore, and Stun Spore))
Gender: Male
Ability: Overgrow - Powers up Grass-Type moves in a fight when Silenus's stamina is low or if he is too injured. | Lightning Rod - Silenus's biology forces lightning from nearby to become drawn to his body, his ferns drawing it in and dispersing it painlessly. He can then absorb the lightning to boost his own Special Attack. This ability gives better phone reception, even when there shouldn’t be any reception.
Moveset:
Frenzy Plant - Grass - Special - Summons thick, thorny vines from under the ground and swarms the opponent with them. Due the strength of this attack, he is exhausted afterwards and is vulnerable to attack.
Leaf Storm - Grass - Special - Exhausts the user using this, lowering their Special Attack.
Dragon Pulse - Dragon - Special - Is a long-range shot, so it can hit non-adjacent Pokemon in a fight.
Focus Blast - Fighting - Special - Has a 10% chance to lower the target's Special Defense.
Leaf Blade - Grass - Physical - Has a heightened critical hit ratio.
Night Slash - Dark - Physical - Has a heightened critical hit ratio.
Dual Chop - Dragon - Physical - Hits twice with draconic-cloaked leaf blades.
Brick Break - Fighting - Physical - Removes Light Screen, Reflect, and Aurora Veil if it hits the opponent.
Quick Guard - Fighting - Status - Protects all allies on the user's side of the field from priority moves, like Quick Attack or Aqua Jet.
X-Scissor - Bug - Physical - Cuts in a criss-cross fashion.
Quick Attack - Normal - Physical - Is a quick attack with increased priority.
Description: This isn't going to be as short and sweet because I need to explain their dynamic and how they achieved getting a Key Stone and a Mega Stone.

During Naka's start to her Hoenn gym challenge, she was given a Treecko by the Hoenn Professor. This Treecko was rather mild. He was patient, wasn't really explosive, and he had a logical and reasonable mind. Despite seemingly being laidback, Treecko was so comfortable, he didn't think he needed to battle. There was no point to battling, so why fight? Why collect gym badges? While he understood why people and Pokemon alike would go to such lengths to achieve glory and fortune, it wasn't for him and he didn't want to be a part of it. However, it would be when they ran into an issue. He had yet to evolve and the Fire-Types were starting to encroach upon them. Treecko would have perished if it weren't for Naka risking getting burned to save him from the oddly aggressive Numel. Due to her actions, he evolved into Grovyle when they were against a band of Numel who wouldn't let them leave, and he confounded them enough to help Naka and himself get away. Since then, he's learned that it wasn't fame or fortune, it was about getting stronger so they wouldn't have something as harrowing as that ever again. During a fight against Winona in Fortree City, her Grovyle evolved yet again into Sceptile and used the trees nearby to her advantage to confound and whittle down her Pokemon enough for Naka's other Pokemon to finish the job when he fainted. Unluckily for them - as they were about to make it to Sootopolis City, Naka nearly drowned when a group of Sharpedo attacked. Her Wishiwashi wasn't able to stop them and she didn't think sending out any of her other Pokemon in water was a good idea. Fortunately, Silenus escaped his PokeBall and saved Naka from being fish food and they managed to reach the last city, where his efforts aided in getting her the last badge.

Before they finished, there was an area she was told to find, but it was going to be difficult due to its "mirage-like" qualities. Still, she soared with her Aerodactyl to find a hidden cave where she can find something of value. South of Pacifidlog Town, they found the mirage cave. The ore they were trying to find for the miner who tasked her to find it was being protected by what she assumed was a Totem Pokemon, but it wasn't. It was just a giant Pokemon who guarded the stone. The larger-than-normal Steelix proved to be a difficult monster to beat, but with the combined effort of her Pokemon team, she managed to subdue it long enough to steal the ore and leave. Giving the ore to the miner, he fixed it up and presented it to her as a Key Stone. Then, he challenged her to a 1v1 battle: Medicham vs Sceptile. He taught her about Mega Evolution, using his Mega Medicham as an example. The battle was hard, yet Naka and her Sceptile managed to put the fight to a draw, impressing the miner who had challenged her. He has asked what she would be using the Mega Stone for, for her to respond that it was to protect others. She was then tasked to find a Mirage Forest, and it will have the stone she sought for her Sceptile. After searching through five different Mirage Forests in a span of two weeks, she finally found the one she needed that was west of Route 114. A Ninetales was standing guard of the buried Sceptilite, and this was an even tougher fight due to the type disadvantage. Naka got burned several times trying to steal the Sceptilite, only to be thrown to the side with a Psychic attack. Silenus saved her, but was furious because she was nearly unconscious. After all that bonding and her getting him to where he was now, he wasn't going to let some fire fox beat her. So he fought back with all he had. Yet, he still fainted.

Fortunately, the strength and righteousness of the Sceptile was all that was needed because the Ninetales, who was owned by a trainer, dug up the Sceptilite and gave it to them before leaving. When they awoke, they finally got their prize, and they trained under the miner for some time to learn how to harness the Mega Evolution without causing Silenus to lose himself from the latent energy.

Description: Just a regular ol' Wishiwashi. She is a rather relaxed fish, not putting up much of a fight when she was fished out of a river in Alola Naka had visited during her field trip when she was twelve. During her gym battle against Crasher Wake, Naka had thought Iwa evolved when her form shifted, and her natural bulk aided in her victory. She is a staple battling Pokemon.

Tochi

Gender: Female
Ability: Dry Skin - During harsh sunlight, this Pokemon will lose an eighth of their max stamina gradually, while during rain this Pokemon will regain an eighth of their max stamina gradually. Can create subterranean tunnels or holes across the battlefield to confuse the opponent if they don't want to attack. Can also be used to travel across the region. Grassy Terrain - Grass - Status - Covers the field with glowing grass. All grounded Pokemon are affected by it. Boosts the power of Grass-Type moves by 30%, restores a Pokemon's stamina gradually, Floral Healing heals more, Terrain Pulse changes its type to Grass and deals double damage, Grassy Glide has a higher priority, changes Pokemon with Mimicry or have used Camouflage to Grass, Nature Power becomes Energy Ball, Secret Power looks like a Vine Whip and may cause sleep, and the power of Bulldoze, Earthquake, and Magnitude are halved. Stays for 5 of my posts.

Due to her ability, her chitin and mushroom feel dry in the sun, and they feel soft and smooth when doused with water. Tochi is incredibly gentle, always holding back when hurting a Pokemon. She was caught in Viridian Forest while Naka was traveling with a band of kids she was teaching. Due to her demeanor, she was relegated to aiding in travel, research, and trapping wild Pokemon and weakening them without hurting them too much.

Due to being a Ghost-Type, this Pokemon cannot be paralyzed by Lick, and is immune to effects that prevent recall or escape (such as Mean Look and Shadow Tag), and are guaranteed to flee from any wild battle.)
Gender: Female
Ability: Cursed Body - When this Pokemon is hit by a damaging move, there is a ~1/3 chance that the Cursed Body will disable that move of the attacking Pokemon for 4 posts. Can also disable a move that calls another move (like Assist or Metronome) if the move that was called dealt damage.

Draining Kiss - Fairy - Special - Restores health by 75% of damage dealt to the target.
Description: This Froslass was 4'03" (129.5 cm), but she grew after eating a bunch of Rare Candies that was in a box. Not only did they make her stronger, it also made her grow, being 4'11" (149.9 cm) now. She also has a little orange-red choker, allowing her to hold any item Naka wishes for her to hold. She is pretty rash, not caring what she does. She's theatrical, quite vain, and pretty prideful, and she hates being compared to things. She is a bit petty and will take revenge on those she spites. She was caught during Naka's adventure in Hoenn when Naka was taking refuge in Shoal Cave. The Snorunt later evolved during one of Naka's research excursions, becoming quite the powerhouse as a result. She is a battle ready Pokemon.

Hanu

Power-Up Punch - Fighting - Physical - If it hits, it raises the user's physical attack.
Mach Punch - Fighting - Physical - Has increased priority (like Quick Attack).

Thunder Punch - Electric - Physical - Has a 10% chance to paralyze the target.
Flare Blitz - Fire - Physical - The user takes recoil damage equal to 1/3 of the damage dealt and has a 1/10 chance to burn the target.
Description: Hanu has always been big for his species ever since he was a Chimchar, and the further training did not help. Normally, Infernape are around 3'11" (119.4 cm), but he's 4'07" (139.7 cm) and weighs more due to the height discrepancy. He is hasty, always quick to act, quick to think, quick... Everything. He has no patience, having to be disciplined early as a Chimchar to prevent him from causing trouble for himself and his trainer. Now, he only acts when told to, but sometimes he cracks and will act without thinking. While he is incredibly fast, he's predictable. Having watched Naka's brother play video games back at home, he tries to emulate some of their fighting techniques in a fight. Naka had received him after catching him from escaping the professor's lab (again), and ended up being given to him when no one wanted him due to his behavior. Since then, he's been a battle ready Pokemon, a powerhouse for sure.

    Ciaran Kilbane
    Description

Ciaran stands at around 6ft 2 inches in height and is a well-built and handsome young man. having managed to develop a rather tone and well built muscle outline across his body. Born with a naturally fair skin complexion, the majority of Ciaran's body is devoid of any visible markings aside from his two arms which unlike the rest of his untarnished skin, are littered with many scars, each containing a memory of his past adventures. To go with his height and toned figure, Ciaran is a natural born red head, the fiery red colour of his hair a constant trait in his family, primarily his fathers side. White uncommon and to some unnatural, Ciaran's red hair isn't the oddest thing about his general appearance. Hidden beneath the black eye patch he wears almost constantly is a dark purple eye; a somewhat weird trait considering his natural eye colour according to his family genetics would have been the almond colour seen in his uncovered pupil. While wildly accepted to be an extreme variant of Heterochromia; Ciaran is adamant that this change in eye color is the doing of some external force. His reasons for this are the nightmares that tend to plague him every now and then, visions of a dark shadowy pokemon reaching out for him.

To prevent people from questioning his differing eye colours, Ciaran has chosen to wear this eye patch almost constantly. Keeping his hair long and dishevelled, Ciaran wears a green bandanna around his forehead, the fabric keeping the majority of his air out of his face. Whilst he does admit that having long hair is a nuisance, Ciaran has been rather reluctant to get it trimmed down to a more manageable state. In terms of attire, Ciaran's clothing normally consist of a handful of colors. Primarily he can be found wearing a mixture of red, black and white with the occassional gold or silver trimmings on his clothing. He generally always wears a full sleeve baselayer underneath a black buttoned jacket emblazoned with the schools emblem, accompanied by black jeans. Around his neck is a long red scarf that is almost twice as long as he is tall. In terms of accessories, Ciaran has a small silver pendant around his neck; a chain necklace that once belonged to his grand mother. Both of his ears are pierced and currently hold silver stud's in each lobe. Occassionally he will wear a black glove solely on his right hand; the dominant of his two hands. Why he chooses to only wear it on the one hand is simply because he saw someone else doing it and felt like replicating the look.
    Background

The youngest son of two prominent pokemon researchers, Ciaran was largely expected to follow in the footsteps of both his parents as well as his older sister Chelsea. It was assumed by many that he would be the next in line to take up the title 'Professor'; pursuing a particular scientific field of interest in order to further understand the many mysteries surrounding Pokemon, just like his sister had done. Alas, that was not to be the case. Unlike his sister, who readily chased down a career in the Pokemon sciences, Ciaran showed no interest or inclination into doing as such; deciding early on that his interest lay elsewhere. This isn't to say that he had no real desire to find the missing answers to those mysteries that often dazzled Pokemon researchers. Ciaran's stance from the very beginning had always leaned towards experiencing things first hand and in person, rather than burying his head into books or research and theorising what those answers could be. It didn't help that from a very young age, the impressionable child that was Ciaran was hook immediately to the glamour of pokemon battles, the wide eyed youth enamoured with the various battles he had witnessed on the television, his hero being the fierce but beautiful Cynthia of the Sinnoh Elite four.

His parents originally from Kanto and both Scientist in the field of 'Regional Morphology and Evolution' had jumped on the opportunity to visit the region of Paldea. While regional variants had become increasingly common across the regions; such as the various species of Meowth. The region of Paldea had instead brought to light a completely new discovery; the discovery of 'Convergent Evolution'. As of now, this has been limited to the Wiglett and Toedscool family lines, both pokemon that almost perfectly mirror pre-established species of pokemon such as Diglett and Tentacool. While inititally thought to be a drastic form of regional variation, it has recently become accepted in the research community that Wiglett and Toedscool are in fact their own species of pokemon rather than being mere region variants.
Enthralled by this new discovery, his parents had chosen to settle down in the region of Paldea hoping to unravel the secrets behind Convergent evolution and why some species of pokemon merely maintain basic variations in the form of regional variants and why some took more drastic measures in their evolutionary line.

For the most part, his mother had worked from their home; Ciaran only being a year old when they moved. With Chelsea's aide; Ciaran's mother was able to raise him as well as continue her research; documenting the discoveries that his father would make whenever they ventured out. To date however, no new fossil of undiscovered pokemon have been found.

Attending the academy in Mesagoza both Ciaran and Chelsea attended a school catered towards the cooperation between pokemon and trainer, an environment that allowed and nurtured a childs interest as well as their bahaviour around various pokemon of different types. Chelsea found success in the academic side of her studies, whereas Ciaran seemed to lean more towards the sporting side. Despite the pokemon belonging to the school, it was evident that Ciaran had a special understanding of them, knowing how to play to their strengths as well as the weaknesses of of the opponents. It was like he was a natural at finding a rythym that suited him and his partner. Ciaran's knack for pokemon battles did not go unnoticed.Even his teachers could see his potential as a trainer; the ingenious strategies that he implemented during the mock battles a clear sign of his potential.

The fire that lights his fuse is simple. Ciaran is a battler, a bona fide Pokémon battle is what truly gets him going; the fire in his eyes raging ever violently the longer the bout continues. The glimmer in his eyes as he is embroiled in combat with his trusted partner is often hard to miss. In the heat of combat, the problems that plague the world do not even exist; the differences between himself and the one he is fighting against do not matter. It is simply a moment in time where two fierce competitors test their wits against one another, where human and pokemon work hand in hand to defeat the opponent standing opposite them. It is during battle that Ciaran commonly loses his composure and well mannered persona, the venomous tongue that he hides away being revealed in full glory. Like a switch being flicked on, Ciaran is often far more colorful in the way he speaks, especially as the fight progresses. It is due to his tempestuous battle spirit that Ciaran seeks to be the best version of himself.

While Ciaran has opted to go down the line of pokemon battling, he still shares interest in Pokemon Morphology, though rather then sticking to Regional and Convergent variations of pokemon, he has instead taken a greater interest in how 'external' sources can influence evolution; namely items that go beyond the widely available Evolutionary stones. Since choosing to minor in this field of studies, Ciaran has made it a goal one of his goals to catch an Eevee and discover a new evolutionary form. With Eevee's ability he see's it as an inevitable truth that the pokemon has the potential to evolve into every known 'typing' rather then just the current ones known to the world.
