The Vital Region
be29e4b6749b34421dbe9bfee99d0f63.jpg
The Vital Region is a large continent harboring various Pokémon from across other regions. Not much is known as to how, but it’s theorized the massive cherry blossom tree is the cause. The tree is the essence of life, without it, the legendaries and the land would perish. Its roots stretch across the Earth providing shelter, water, and energy for any and all Pokémon, especially the legendaries. This tree was named Mei by the pilgrims. Its importance still stands and is maintained in the modern era.

The Legendaries
The Legendaries were born from Mei, the cherry blossom tree, to protect it from harm, and help maintain the land. Each one is the embodiment of a different season. Their job is to terraform the land when it’s time to change. However, because of their awesome power, they cannot be in the same space. Should they meet, it can cause a catastrophy. Imagine winter and summer blending together. One second it’s hot, the next it’s cold throwing the Pokémon in for a loop. Thankfully, it hasn't happened. Another theory is when all four are collected, they can control both Pokémon and the weather. Most importantly, be able to summon a fifth Pokémon that sleeps within the tree. The mother of all four seasons.

The Legendaries live on the edge of the region opposite of their siblings. Because they are a force of nature, the area in which they inhabit is permanently a single season. A never ending winterland, spring autumn or summer leaving the rest of the land to transition normally.

Gardavian
(Fairy/Psychic)

Gardavian is a fairy/psychic cat Pokémon. They are the embodiment of spring bringing forth rebirth. They are the most popular of the region for it's the time of year when the region comes together to celebrate Mei as it is the season it blossoms the most. Not much is known about them except they live in the Northern area at the top of the highest mountain called, Mount Bloom to keep an eye on the tree from afar. The area around Gardavian is luscious, brimming with life.

Pyroloch
(Fire/Dragon)

Pyroloch is a fire/Dragon. It is the embodiment of summar and is the strongest and rarest of the four seasons. It lives in a volcano on an island fart South called, Mount Slumber. It's name derives from Pyroloch making it's nest deep into the bed of volcano where it sleeps in lava until it's rotation. Despite it's strong appearance, it is lazy and calm as long as it's swimming in lava, without it, Pyroloch becomes berserk. Humans do not dare enter the volcano, not because of the deity but because it's too hot for a human to get close. That is why the area around them is a dry desert made mostly for electric, steel, fire, ground and rock type Pokémon. Weirdly, it can fly even without wings.

Fendeer
(Ghost/Dark)
Fendeer is a Ghost/ Dark type, and is the embodiment of autumn. It's presence is terrifying when spotted in the night. Their crimson eyes glow and the longer you stare more eyes appear around them followed by green wisps. It is a tactic to scare folks away for Fendeer is a shy, and cautious Pokémon. It's also known to be intelligent keeping it's distance from humans. Fendeer enjoys howling at the moon, and take a stroll through the foggy forest called, Spectral Garden. It used to be a garden where all types of Pokémon would gather before it became a forest filled with ghost and dark type Pokémon. The garden died because the town was plagued by a sickness. Humans and Pokémon perished while some left thus abandoning the garden. To keep it's memory alive, Fendeer decided to maintain the garden. No one knows where it lives, but it can be found in the far West only by getting lost in the fog. They will guide a human out or by using a ghost Pokémon.

Siberizen
(Ice/Dark)

Siberizen is an Ice/Dark type dog Pokémon, and the embodiment of winter. It resides in the far East where it spends it's time wandering the wilds alone and burrowing itself in the snow and helping anyone lost or stuck in a blizzard. Because it's an ice type, most people believe it is cold hearted when in reality, Siberizen has a soft and playful nature. If it's aggravated, the weather will become a harsh snowstorm and terraform the ground into icicle landscape. Thankfully, Siverizen is easily forgiving, but it will be wary if it's trust is ever broken.

Towns & Cities
There are many cities within the Vital Region. Some remain in an endless season, others are near dry or wet lands or on miniature islands. Whatever the case, each city has a unique theme as homage to their respective legendaries. Such as Hollowood Town, or Solstice Village. At the same time, each legendary holds two gym leader guardians for extra security. There fore there is always a gym leader nearby if one goes down.

Yggdrasil City

Yggdrasil City is where Mei stands, and is the first settlement in the Vital Region. It was founded by Ivan Lund, the man who appointed the eight guardians and king of Yggdrasil City. It is considered the mainland where tournaments and large festivals take place. It is also the headquarters for agents. Everything that transpires here is of great importance.

In Yggdrasil City is the headquarters for agents. It's here where meetings and trials are taken. Any services agents require come straight from headquarters.

Hollowood Town

Hollowood Town is a Holloween themed town. It's popular because of it's residence and scenery. The houses are designed to be victorian, decorated with jack-O-lanterns and the pathways are made of cobblestone. Everywhere you look, people are dressed in costumes from punk rockers, to spooky monsters in order to fit their theme. The people may be weird and out of sorts, but they're incredibly friendly.

Here, the people are fond of their ghost and dark pokemon. The town is surrounded, protected by the foggy forest so travelers do tend to wandering into town while lost. Hollowood is one of the settlements with a gym that guards Fendeer.

Hollowood's gym sits in the center of the carnival taking the form of a circus tent. It's where the gym leader, Maverick, performs as well as the battle field takes place. While it may not be much to look at, the inside is large enough of intense fights and the ring happens to be the battlefield.

Storm Valley
storm-village-with-lightning-sky_899894-10271.jpg
Unlike the vast majority of gyms that are located within the city, the temple of lightning is instead located atop a nearby mountain peak. For those daring to challenge the thunder temple gym, they must first traverse the ardous terrain, leaving behind their belongings at the Thunder Temple Inn located within Storm City. Only the trainer, their pokemon and whatever they can carry within a small rucksack are then given the right to travel up towards ThunderPeak. The peak itself is often beset by dangerous thunderstorms, with various thunderclouds ominously looming above. Only by change does the storm subside, granting safe passage up the mountain. Only those that can survive travelling up the mountain path and overcome the various dangers that lay in wait are then granted the opportunity to challenge the gyms elder.

Heatwill City

Goodnite Town
Screenshot_20240317-114304~2.png
Snowbanks, snow trails and the odd light are the first thing many visitors will see when they visit the town of Goodnite. Pushing deeper through the frost and snow however you will start to see the cobblestone streets gradually emerge from out of the snow, the flickering lanterns of quaint log cabins and the occasional cozy cottage, casting a warm glow upon the snowy landscape.

These rustic abodes serve as sanctuaries for residents seeking respite from the winter chill, their crackling hearths and snug interiors providing solace from the cold embrace of the outside world. Tended to by their psychic Pokémon, Goodnite residents stay warm in their soft beds, enjoying blissful dreams.

In the centre of town is the Sleep Gym, where Gym Leader PJ slumbers. A grizzled trainer of psychic types, PJ and his team; Snorlax, Munna and Musharna rest up for the coming challengers.

Brickroad Town is a rural area surrounded by orchards and berry bushes. Two story houses sit scrunched together on an uphill, and the road up is as its name states, a brickroad. Despite the lack of room, it’s a small village more than anything. The resident’s backyards are wide and lush, coexisting with wild Pokémon.

The Lab

There is no Pokémon center but instead, just a ways up is the Pokémon research lab where the Holland twins live. Nathan is found here the most handing out the starter Pokémon for new trainers.
Compared to other laboratories, it holds the necessities for a traveler like a cafeteria and a place to sleep. This is due to the fact the lab is also a safehouse for agents.

Gym Leaders
Since the invention of Pokéballs, humans have been able to live along side Pokémon, and forge bonds through battles. The idea to host a tournament to decide who is the strongest inspires the creation of gyms. Those who can take down strong opponents will be acknowledged permitting them into the league. These posts are called gyms and with it there is a gym leader. In the Vital Region, things a little different. Gym leaders play an important role to protect the legendaries and keep peace within their region. They are guardians trained for dangerous situations, teaching their protoges the ways of a gym leader in hopes of some day taking up the mantel. In total, there are eight, scattered across the region.

Faye can first come across as odd. She often narrates what she's doing aloud. She is never seen without her medieval outfit except before bed. She can be a bit of a cluts and cause problems, but do not let her personality deceive you for she is a champion for a reason. She's great in battle, always one step ahead of the game, even while it may seem like she's distracted, she's punctual with her attacks. She puts forth both spirit and effort into her battles.

Team Eclipse

images.png

An organization created during the early stages of settlements. They were the first to obtain Pokémon and use them as tools to conquer land. It encouraged villages to catch their own and use them for wars. The fight leads to a bond between humans and Pokémon realizing they can get along. With war comes death. The tree felt endangered by the constant battle, so it summoned the four legendaries to put an end to the conflicts. The humans agreed to make peace, but the small group that refused were outcasted, and thus the birth of Team Eclipse was born. Their deeds became well known, causing havoc among cities for a chance to inspire rebellion. Instead it unionized people against them. It was apparent Team Eclipse was futile, and disbanded. It’s been three hundred years, and Team Eclipse has been reborn taking on a new appearance, lurking in the shadows. Their leader is unknown, but the grunts in uniforms are known.

Grunts
grunt1.jpg
Team Eclipse are known for their uniforms, though they keep it hidden under their disguise. They are armed with at least two Pokémon and work in pairs or groups. If solo, it means they are a special class ranking higher than grunts.

Lieutenants

There are four Lieutenants in charge of capturing a legendary. They are exemplary, and tough opponents compared to grunts. They have assistants that are high level and use strong Pokémon to stall time. The Lieutenant carries two or three Pokémon while the assistants carry two.

Agents and Gyms

The Organization of Cross has it’s rules, ranks and lifestyles. The same can be said for Gyms in regards to it’s placement. Everything is meant to keep order in case of there ever being a security breech. Learning the ways of being a secret agent helps identify between a member and a spy.

Cross Agent Origin

The name “Cross” derives from it’s shape. While it may be a simple symbol, depending on the angle, it has two significant meanings. When set to a “T”, it’s supposed to resemble a shimmering light. Therefore, the guardians that bring light to Vital by keeping peace. When slanted into an “X”, it is seen as an arm gesture over the other as if blocking or guarding. Ivan Lund, the king of old, created the organization as well as enforced the rules. His bloodline continues the tradition of running it.

The Rules & Ranks

Each guardian is a Gym Leader who carry the title of Elite. They play the part of a regular gym leader handing out badges to the victor, and guarding their legendary while obtaining information by completing dangerous missions. Alongside them is a their protege ranked as apprentice. They are in charge of watching over the gym during their master’s mission. This allows them to gain battle experience, and learn the reigns of what it means to be a gym leader. Of course, apprentices sometimes join their master on a mission for hands on experience. Every Elite teaches their students differently. Some are strict, some focus on sharpening skills, others work on strengths and weaknesses, etc. Whatever the case, they are given an important job to also check on their legendaries or run errands. Small little things to keep up their endurance, and Dexterity in the future.

With being an agent also means getting an allowance and free transportation or housing. Given they are a special member, it is required for an agent to wear their badge at all times. It helps establishments identify a guardian. The badges are all made of the same metallic alloy in case of fraud. As for housing, there are options, such as Pokémon centers, hotels, safe houses located in random areas in Vital for emergencies, or camping.

Note: Gym leaders have more than one protege. It’s a back up procedure in case one quits or something happens to both the Elite or Apprentice. (This is a precaution in case someone drops out.)

Gyms

While there are a total of eight guardians with gyms, they can close down and change settings depending on the protege. When the mantle is taken over, the new leader can decide whether to take on the current type gym, change it or relocate. This helps keep secrecy against Team Eclipse. Much as they hide in the shadows, the Cross Agents switch gyms as well as new faces.

Vital President: Scott Lund

9d58b567395d3a7b5763703d0663cb4d.jpg
Scott is the president of both the Vital Region and the Cross Agency. Like most important people, he has a tight schedule, but he spends his focus on competitions and research to improve popularity and a better way of living. He doesn't fully respect the Cross Agency unless it benefits him, but he understands disbanding them is a poor decision as it is a necessity in order to keep peace. His exhaustion is evident when on the clock, but he tries his best to please everyone despite his rough demeanor.

Professor Caitlin & Nathan Holland

Caitlin and Nathan are twins with Caitlin being the oldest by two minutes. They both serve as the professors for Vital, helping new trainers start their Pokémon journey as well as provide gadgets and gizmos for the agency. Caitlin is the inventor while her twin, Nathan, handles the Pokémon department the most. While they both are proficient in their skills, it's easier for both to stick to one branch.

Professor Caitlin may appear as stoic, but is kind and understanding whereas Nathan is able to show more emotion such as empathy towards Pokémon. Either way, both are reliable and loyal to Vital.
