Welcome to Pine Valley, an academy that is for the Arts: photography, artists, dance, music, computer skills, creative writing, design, Acting etc. Our Founder Thomas Foster believed all deserved a chance to better themselves and created this school. All are welcome apply, regardless of your background. We are located in Pine Valley, Massachusets, driving distance from Nantucket and Marthas Vineyard. Also, a train ride from NY and Julliard. Our campus is complete with all modern amenities in historic buildings. We have a boys dorm and a girls dorm which are both donated historic homes. We have plans for a coed upperclassman dorm soon. All accepted applicants will get a pm from us with acceptance.

LAUREL WINTERS
Senior/18/Photography & Art/Heterosexual

Bio: Laurel is from Chicago, she was sent here by her grandparents who gained custody of her after her parents were killed. She is still dealing with the loss, and sometimes rebels against the expectations set on her by her family. She hopes that her time at the academy will help her figure out her life. She got permission to bring her dog Maisy, who she adores. She is creative, artistic, somewhat of a loner but when you are her friend she is loyal.

Writing Sample
Laurel arrived on campus full of hopes for the upcoming year, she opted not to have a roommate but only Maisy as her steady companion. Maisy had been a gift from her parents and the one tie she had to them still. The dog was very obedient, well most of the time she did have her flights of fancy where she wandered off on her own. Laurel dropped her bags in her room then the two of them took a walk around the campus. First, they checked out the library, then the Art building then finally they decided to walk to the harbor to see the boats come in.

She had brought along her sketchbook and sat on the dock drawing the boats with Maisy at her side. Before she realizes it the sun has almost set and she realizes she must find her way back to the campus. Luckily she remembers the path and slips back in unnoticed by others who are socializing with each other before the classes begin.

Jake Roberts
Acting Teacher/27/Hetrosexual

Bio:
Jake grew up on Nantucket then went out west to start his dream of acting, sure he made it big for a while then his work dried up. He is now back home to help the teens not to make the same mistakes he made. He also wants to be the one to discover talent. A die-hard Yankees fan he loves sports and sailing.

Writing Sample:
Jake was in his second year teaching at the Academy, and this year he had finally been offered a full-time position. The founders saw promise in him and his teaching methods. This was his chance to prove all those who were critical wrong, mainly his father who had wanted him to be a banker. He as living out his dream, surrounding by teenagers and helping to be a role model to them.

He liked to get to the campus early so he could observe the new students without the structure of teacher-student confines, to use that intel to his advantage when he got them in the classroom. I was during these first days that the students were their true selves, they showed emotion and were happy. He sometimes played a trick on the students getting them to think he was working landscape crew or dorm staff, then on the first day of class, he surprised them.
