Height:

Weight:

Appearance:

Personality:

Peter is normally a calm and collected person at work and elsewhere. He is kind to his coworkers and to everyone in general. He believes that people should be treated as human beings, no matter the upbringing. Although for him this excludes villains, murderers, robbers, etc. He would like to see those people locked up in jail and spend the correct amount of time there. While he does have his some anger management problems, under many circumstances he remains the same. Only in the heat of battle, which even then a few circumstances have to be fulfilled, he could show anger. He is also not a fan of anything overly gory, so for the most part he tends to avoid watching things like that and doing the same things to his opponents. When he drinks Peter becomes a bossy and rude, not caring about social circumstances and says whatever comes to his mind. For that reason he tends not to drink much, but when he does its very little.

Powers:

Guardian Light:

This is Peter's main power. A variation of normal Light Manipulation, Guardian Light allows the user to bend light to his or her will. This power allows Peter to create holographic projections, can become temporarily invisible, and can create stationary illusions. His power over light is near absolute, meaning that if there is any source of light he can use it. Guardian Light also allows Hand Blasts, Light Balls and Beams, Light Pillars, Light Waves, Scattering Shots, and small Light Zaps (this only causes slight pain or discomfort).

Void Light:

In certain scenarios Peter forgoes his normal light for a more darker version. This light appears more purple in nature and is much more destructive. This section of his power can only be obtained when Peter is emotionally unstable, which is why this version of his power is rare as he is emotionally stable. Void Light allows the same set of powers as Guardian Light, but is much more destructive towards the area.

Skills:

+ Knows hand to hand combat

+ Cares about a teammates well being

+ Intelligent

+ Tactical

Weaknesses:

+ Can not and stand anything to gory

- Light attacks can be deflected and reflected by glass, although this changes progressively from Void to Rift Light

- All three powers will go through somethings that is transparent, a cloaked figure will be hit though.

- Needs a light source, so if he were to fight it would be preferably in day or in a bright city

- Anything that has Photokinetic Immunity will not be affected by Guardian Light and can resist Rift Light, but not against Void Light

Equipment:

Carries this flashlight with him everywhere in the event of the case he enters a completely dark area with almost no light source.

Backstory:

Born in Hempstead, New York, Peter was born to two middle class parents. As a child Peter caught the eye of many people due to his ability given to him since birth. His classmates and officials watched him with awe as at recess or during monthly visits he would show off his powers. He did not because he felt like he had to, but as a child he always liked to show off and show his peers and adults how quote on quote cool he was. This gradually changed over the years and his big demonstrations quickly became parlor tricks, now starting to see the constant asking of people for a look at his ability as more of an annoyance. When he was twelve finishing up eight grade a pair of robbers entered his house and tied up his mother and father. He was able to escape and hide in a closet nearby, using his invisibility ability when one of them looked in said closet. It was from that closet that he witnessed his parents gruesome deaths and subsequent sexual abuse to the corpse of his mother. Having witness such horrifying events he used Void Light for the first time and attacked the robbers. When authorities arrived after a complaint call they have found the corpses of Peters parents, the robbers, and Peter locked up in the closet once again with a splash of one of the robbers blood on his shirt. After going through psychological therapy and reconditioning, he moved to Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania to live with his older sister. He would attend high school there, but would make little friends. He proved himself to be an academic and when graduation came along he had one of the top five GPA's in the state despite the size and curriculum of the school. After receiving scholarships and federal aid, he first went to Penn State at the age of eighteen for a degree in Information Technology. After spending two years there he would work his way into Princeton University and work on a major in World History. After spending a further two years there and another year to enhance his degree he graduated from the university. Instead of finding a professor job with his history degree, he went to the growing of field of Information Technology. From there he took a job out of Hasterville and subsequently moved there. Now almost half a year later he his a hard worker, gets along well, and has opened up more.

Occupation:

In battle he uses his knowledge of tactics and the limits of his powers to fight his enemy in a somewhat effective strategy making policy.

Powers:

Guardian Light:

This is Peter's main power. A variation of normal Light Magic, Guardian Light allows the user to bend light to his or her will. This power allows Peter fly, create holographic projections, can become temporarily invisible, and can create stationary illusions. His power over light is near absolute, meaning that if there is any source of light he can use it. Guardian Light also allows Hand Blasts, Light Balls and Beams, Light Pillars, Light Waves, Scattering Shots, and small Light Zaps (this only causes slight pain or discomfort). (A. This is not a magic rp, there is no magic in this world. B. the limit is 3 powers, in this paragraph alone you have 10)

(same as above, no magic please)

Rift (or Abyssal) Light:

Considered to be the apex of his power, Rift Light is a combination of Guardian and Void Light. It is for that reason alone that this is by far the most destructive and deadly power Peter has, which under its spell Peter does not care about life and simply targets anything he finds to be in the way. Rift Light gives the user one added ability along with the others called Abyssal Vortex, which creates a large ball of grayish light over the area and at the simple snap of fingers the area its over is destroyed in an instant due to the collapse of the ball. This section of his power has only ever been used once, during a time when Peter was going through a very troubling time in his life. (so we're up to about 31 powers? even if this was allowed the area of affect needs to be more spesfic)

(Needs to have weaknesses of himself, not just his powers, do his powers drain him? do certain other elements weaken him?)

I don't mean to be sassy or anything, so sorry in advance if i come off like that, but his power isn't light magic. Light Manipulation, what i described are the sub abilities he is capable of using within the power. Void and Rift light are variations of his power. And the backstory wasn't finished (accidentally pressed enter), so sorry about that to but its done now.

A variation of normal Light Magic,

^^^

Sub-abilities are still abilities and the light abilities are different enough to be new abilities.

Oh shoot..... welp fork. I meant manipulation not magic (been watching to much of those anime that call it magic and not manipulation), but derp on my end there. And also if i just name the three without giving specific detail on what i am able to do with said power, then how can i effectively fight within my limits and fairly. I am setting myself a boundary to fight with only that, otherwise i could just use anything that involves light.

Alright...

@Loyal Guardian

The fact that he's using light manipulation as a substitute for other abilities such as flight and invisibility is far too overpowered for a LOW to MEDIUM powered RP. Personally, I dislike Light Manipulation because it is so essential to us and an be used to replicate almost ANY power. Light Manipulation, Shadow Manipulation, and Magic. Things like those.

Now, if your character had something like Photokinetic Constructs that would be okay but...this is far too overpowered. Sorry if this comes of as rude, but this character can literally wipe the floor with anyone.

Okay fair enough. I was thinking that in general it would be basically light beams, but come from sources such as his hands or has them come from a light source strong enough (like outside or a bright city but not his flashlight, which only Zap can be used upon). Now i never intended for him to be some kind of deus ex machina where he can just say "Now i can overcome my weaknesses" or go "Lol i use shadow manipulation now and other things". I planned for him to be purely using light only, with only those aforementioned variations. I was thinking constructs, but my other hero(ish) OC had that already but with shadows instead. So i wanted to try something different here. All in all despite the description it's all generally the same, light beams and balls just from different sources (ie hands or existing sources) and styles (ie a wave or beam). Now it should go that flight and invisibility is allowed under Light Manipulation, but i am very willing to forgo flight and downgrade the invisibility.

Sorry, but invisibility is a power of its own. It doesn't "go" that flight and invisibility are under light manipulation, however, light manipulation as a whole is a huge broad spectrum of powers that exceed 3. So far, we have.

1) Light energy balls and beams

2) Invisibility; you may state invisibility is a sub-power of light manipulation but you must list it as a different power altogether since it is a power on its own.

This is up to you to decide. Two powers.

Am i still allowed to keep Void Light or Rift Light or both? As apart of the light balls and beams. And if Light Manipulation and Invisibility are two then i guess flight, idk the troubles of making a character different from the one your used to is difficult to say the least.

That leads to 5 powers.

-Light Manipulation

-Invisibility

-Flight

-Void Light

-Rift Light

The reason I'm badgering you so much is because I've seen Light Manipulation being used to an extremely overpowered extent.

Side note:

I believe I saw you in roleplays like IFKNKMN and Heroes of Tomorrow. The power level in this RP much, much lower than that. We can't have people running around with 102 combinations of abilities that let them kill anyone instantly. It pretty much defuses any tense situation without scaling everything up. That's why I want to keep things a little more low-key here.

Noted. I understand your worries so you can get rid of Rift and Flight. Void is somewhat needed due to backstory and as the more destructive form of the normal light manipulation.

Me? You have to edit the character sheet. But sure, Rift Light is okay.

I suppose since he doesn't have an enhanced body and is average on physical terms, once you make those changes you seem to be good to go.

Alright got rid of Rift Light and flying. I also noticed stationary holographic projects, is that cool or should that be deleted also.
