The origins of the Saryey Clan are shrouded in mystery and a deep fog of their Habitat that surrounds the volcanic islands they call home. It is believed by the Na'vi of this clan that Saryey was delivered to Pandora by Eywa and is the Matriarch of their clan.

This Clan lives in the warm, southern oceans of Pandora on a series of Islands, very similar to Hawaii, that are built from volcanoes. Knowing this, the Clan live a rather precautious lifestyle and always have at least one eye open on the volcanoes they live with. While they construct shelters to live under, they are simply made in case of earthquakes and tremors made by the volcanoes, or if an eruption should damage their homes. Their Clan Leader is a powerful female named Taru, who has three daughters. Only Taru, being the Olo'Eykte, is allowed to have multiple children; this is to prevent overpopulation and competition for food with the animals and other Na'vi. If it is discovered a female clan member has another child, they are excelled from the clan to find another to live amongst, or to go their own way to raise their children, only allowed to return once their children are fully grown into adults.
But unlike Hawaii, these unknown, unmapped islands are surrounded by a thick, heavy fog. In the middle of the foggy region is the islands, that don't seem to carry a cloud in the sky. It is rumored that Eywa protects them with the fog from outsiders, so they can live in peace from those who do not belong. It is said to be a protective veil for this mysterious clan.
