A young man sat on a stool by the counter sipped his coffee whilst he paid attention to the news coming from shop's television. The news reporter's words provoked the young man's thoughts to run across a multitude of different scenarios as well as what-ifs. Tired, he closed his eyes momentarily. Head turned away from the TV, he took another sip of his Caffè Mocha to go. Whilst he had initially planned to stay seated in the shop for a short period of time, the TV hypnotized him to stay 10 minutes more than he should have.

A sigh is heard from the other side of the counter.

"Honestly, what a mysterious and scary world we live in. One day we humans are standing and the next day we're acting like animals on all fours. Shucks..." The barkeep's mouth resonated across the empty shop.

"I'll be off now."
The young man exclaimed to the barkeep. His cup of coffee had but an inch of coffee at it's base.

"Oh.. well alright. Be seeing ya."
The barkeep responded in a hollow, lonely tone of voice as the young man got off the wooden stool, leaving his cup behind and exited the store. The barkeep's eyes glared at the fading silhouette of the man's uniform in the gap between the slowly closing entrance of the shop.

"Heh." He said as he smiled.
"Still the same mysterious, rude fellow. Kids in his third year now, wonder how he'll fair. Bah what am I thinking.. it's him so I know he'll be fine. He's just that type of guy."

BEEP BEEP BEEP! BEEP BEEP BEEP! BEEP BE-!

Emi slammed the palm of her hand down onto the off button on the alarm clock next to her bed. With a loud groan she sat up in her bed and looked at the mirror across the room, unsurprisingly she looked like a disaster. Slowly getting up from her bed she gathered all of her stuff together and got changed into her Shujin academy uniform. Shujin academy, the best school that her parents could find that would take her after she was charged with breaking and entering at her old school. Boy had she gotten in trouble for that.

Finishing up her hair Emi headed down stairs to where she could hear her mother and brother still talking. When Emi walked into the room she saw that her mother was doting on her precious son as usual. It was no secret to the rest of the family that her mother had wanted a son more than anything, once she got one her daughters became mostly irrelevant, the woman even drove one of her daughters and the only one in the family that Emi actually liked out of the house. It was something Emi still hadn't forgiven.

Silently Emi sat down at the table where her morning breakfast was waiting for her. Making sure to avoid eye contact with the other two occupants of the room Emi began to eat until she became painfully aware of how silent the room had become. Against her better judgment she looked up from her meal to meet her mother and brothers gaze. "So today is your first day at Shujin?" asked her younger brother. Emi nodded then went back to her eating a meal that felt like would take forever. Once she was finished she grabbed her back from the base of the table and went to leave the room until her mother called out to her. "Remember to follow all school rules, I don't want anymore incidents from you." said her mother before motioning Emi away.

With a light sigh Emi made her way down the stairs of the front porch and down the drive way. Once she got to the end of the drive way she gave her cheeks a light smack and a friendly smile appeared on her face, there we go! All better! she thought to herself. Now that she had a smile on her face Emi began her commute to the academy. The Metro was filled with talk about the recent accident, honestly talking about that stuff while in the middle of a metro was a bad idea. Keeping up her friendly smile she did her best to ignore all that pointless chatter for the rest of the ride.

The train came to a stop with the normal light screech of the breaks and Emi stepped off into the station. Trying to get ahead of the crowd Emi hurriedly made her way to school. The road to the school and the steps were filled with students gossiping about the latest news, incidents, relationship drama stuff, and random things Emi didn't really need to care about. Seeing as she had time Emi made her way into the building and began to browse the bulletin boards until she had to go to class.

Kyo stared outside the window, twirling a pen in his fingers. He was getting an odd feeling that something was going to happen today, though he didn't know what. That, along with the upcoming student council meetings that were to occur this year, filled his mind, making his thoughts jump from one topic to another. As he was in his trance, he was interrupted by a light flick on the forehead.

"Kyo-kun!" a female voice said as Kyo turned to face his childhood friend, who temporarily occupied the seat in front of him since class hasn't begun. "You're daydreaming again. You know that's not good for our class representative, now is it?"

"Huh? Oh, hey, Sen-chan," Kyo replied, rubbing his forehead. "And no, I wasn't daydreaming, I was just thinking..."

"About what?"

"About how I'm gonna get back at you for that prank you pulled yesterday," Kyo grinned.

"Oh, whatever shall I do?" Sen sighed as she took a distressed pose before returning to her natural position. "By the way, have you heard? Apparently we're getting some new students today, one of them is in our year."

"New students, huh?" I suppose there'll be a meeting about it with the student council."

"Good luck!" Sen said mockingly, winking and sticking out her tongue all cutesy-like before going to talk with another group of friends.

Kyo returned to looking outside the window, now thinking about how the day would turn out.

Madoka Wakabayashi stared blankly at the mini television screen at the end of the Limo before turning it off completely to look out the window with an exhausted expression. Shujin Academy. This is his third school and three years. Madoka gripped the cuff of his sleeve nervously. He wanted to ride the trains to school like a normal highschool student, but his parents, or more like, his father denied him the learning opportunity due to the dangers of public transit, but even with the dangers, Madoka should know the world, and not see it though the gilded bars of his cage.

Madoka lowered the reinforced window down enough to let some of the wind from the driving to mess up his perfectly combed hair, once it was fully messed up, it started to curl to its natural curliness, how he liked it.The driver looked back at him though the small window and shook her head, while making a comment about how Wakabayashi-Sama won't like that, that's what he guessing she said, the wind blocked out what she was saying.

Once, he was sufficiently stratified he lowered the window and grabbed his designer made school bag off the seat next to him, which is the most telling sign of his wealth to the school, besides arriving in a limo. Even now Madoka could see students gawk and stare as the limo drove past them. Madoka sighed. He hated his arriving by Limo, and he always arrive by limo. The limo stopped a fair distance from the school gate, he would have to walk the rest of the way. At least he walks into class as a somewhat normal student.

"Have a good day at School, Madoka." Politely said the family servant and escort, Tomoko Iida. Madoka waved simply, "You too, Tomoko-San," he said quietly before moved out of the limo.

As he feared, students in Shujin Uniform were watching him and whispering among themselves as his family's limo drove off.

"Is he a Transfer student?"

"I heard we're having lots this year."

"I heard one of them break and enter into a public building, and robbed everybody in there!"

"Really? A criminal like that at our school?"

"Do you think its him?"

"Nah. He 's too rich for him to get in trouble, I mean look at that limo! nobody that rich has to worry about anything but being kidnapping!"

"Wait, I think he's looking this way stop talking!"

Madoka let out a sigh and just walked down the street to his new school. As he walked down the street Madoka could feel every pair eye on him and making comments like he heard earlier, but each one more outlandish and ridiculous. Madoka walked with his head lower and kept his pace up until he arrived at the school gate and quietly slipped though it and down into the main hall. Madoka walked up to the busy bulletin board and looked for his name. It would seem his name garnered attention right away. Sadly.

"Whoa! Is this right?!

"What's up?"

"There's a Wakabayashi on here!"

"So?"

"So? So?! The Wakabayashi family owns one of the biggest businesses in Japan!"

"Huh? Really? What kind of business?"

"Dude. Are you for real?!"

"Waka-mart!"

"Oh crap! I love that place they have the best crème brûlé--"
Madoka let out another sigh for that morning, it would seem his name will be quite noticeable here. But nevertheless he spotted his name by those loud students and see that he's in 3-?. Madoka walked to the nearest person, who was a girl around his age who had long orange hair. Madoka steeled himself and spoke.

"Pardon me, You wouldn't happen to know where 3-? is would you?"

OOC:

3-? is as it is for our discussion of the classes for our characters, but I'm planning on making it the same class as Emi.

Emi's eyes slowly scanned the board trying to find out what class she was in. She knew she was a third year so that meant she would be on the third floor so it wouldn't be to hard to find. A moment later she found what she was looking for, Emi Oda, class 3-A. Alright then here we go. She turned to leave but came face to face with a boy who had very curly and frankly messy hair. It was kinda weird considering how fancy his bag looked.

"Well if your asking me for directions then that means you must be a transfer student as well. Don't worry my fellow transfer. As it happens I'm in class 3-A as well. The name is Emi Oda, just leave it to me and we will make it safe and sound!" she gave the boy a large friendly smile and held up a peace sign. She had heard some students talk about one of the new transfer students doing a breaking and entering, of course Emi knew they were talking about her but luckily either her name hadn't gotten out or this boy just didn't care. Either way she might be able to make a friend on day one, that would be a first.

Hana laid faced down on her desk, her arms acted as a pillow for her to rest on whilst her eyes remained shut. Maaan. Waking up in the early morning hours the day after holidays end sucks. Hana continued to lay spread on the table whilst surrounding classmates rambled in discussion.

"Wait wait who told you that!?"

"You hear about that transfer student?"

"Which one? There's too many to keep track of."

"They're so loud.. I just want to sleep.." She whispered to herself softly.

"That train incident.. world's messed up."

"What if she carries a knife on her?"

"Ughhhh. Huh?" Her wavering eyes opened slightly.

"Maaaaan. Sucks that I have to smell the same school air as a criminal."

"I'm going to start washing my hands every hour."

Criminal? I have no idea who they're talking about but that's kinda scary to find out about. Ugh. And here I thought this was going to be an easy term for me but nope. We're already off to a rocky start. Dammit! Hearing about this type of stuff really gets me on edge. I've already overheard rumors about people talking about my looks. "Oh she's so beautiful!" "She's a national treasure!" "She's exotic." Hana's mouth widened to form a smile concealed under the cover of her arms as her eyes closed themselves once more. Ah! It feels so good to get compliments. I'm the shit around here and I know it. "She must be a slut." Pfft. Stay jealous you prissy bitches, I don't need to prove myself to you.

ZING ZING DING ZING

The school's jingle chimed through each individual speaker located in classrooms and hallways.

"-We ask that all students find the way to the practice building Gymnasium in the next 20 minutes. We have prepared a welcoming assembly that we require you all be present for. Attendance will be recorded. You have been warned. Please do not push or shove on the way to the gym. Whilst we acknowledge that the corridors are short, be sensible whilst making your way there. Thank you-"

ZING ZING DING ZING

...I was just beginning to get into my nap. "You have been warned." ? Don't make me laugh. Well this sure is frustrating. Hana lifted her torso up to enter an upright position She slid her chair out from under her table and proceeded to lift her arms up for an above shoulder stretch. A loud yawn escaped her mouth and filled class 2-C.

"Ewww. Does she have no dignity or what?"

Great, more back chatter. Just what I needed after a relaxing nap. Hmm, to act or not to act on it... Hmph, not worth it. I'd rather not get into a fight with under 20 minutes to get to the Gym, I'd imagine that place is already getting filled to the brim with the mixed odors of students. I wonder if the bread shop I saw on the ground floor is open today.. I could really go for some grub. Oh what am I thinking, I'd best be leaving. The girl's thoughts disappeared at the crutch of her willpower as diligence replaced her imagination. Ending her stretch, she grabbed her bag and made out of the classroom door and into the second floor hallway.

Kyo listened intently to the announcement as he stood up and announced to the people that were already in the classroom, "Alright, everyone, you heard the principal. Let's get down the the gym in a calm, peaceful manner!" He then waited at the door, making sure everyone exited the classroom. Another girl walked up to Kyo, Aoi Shinbei, the female class rep for 2B.

"Welcoming Ceremony? Then never told us anything about this at the meetings," she mumbled to him as she stood by.

Kyo simply shrugged his shoulders as the last few students exited the room. "Maybe they only told the President and Vice President."

"Possibly. Hey, I'm gonna go on ahead. That cool with you?"

"Yeah, no need for us to wait anymore since no one's in the classroom." The two gathered their stuff as they began following the crowd. As Kyo walked along, he felt someone bump into him from behind. "Oh, sorry," he said as he turned around, seeing that it was the blonde girl from class 2C, though he couldn't exactly recall her name.

Thank you-"

Emi looked up at the intercoms as they fell silent. So the school was having a welcoming assembly, guess that wasn't uncommon to have for the new first years and transfers. Not really thinking about it very much Emi began to follow the other students to the gym. She turned around and motioned for the guy to follow her. "Come on ... You know I totally forgot to ask your name. Mind telling me?"
Katakon Katakon

Madoka smiles gently as the girl spoke, she was also a follow transfer student, apparently there were many at this school this year. "Heheh, that's good to hear, Oda-san, I keep you to that," Madoka replied softly, this conversation is going well, hopefully he can keep it up.

Suddenly the school jingle went off on the intercom system before an announcement,

Thank you-"

Madoka looked around, seeing all the surrounding him students started walking down the hall, with the red hair girl following suit, before looking back at him and signalling him to follow, which he did with haste.

Madoka was barely keeping up with Emi as he badly dodged the student's body and generally just getting overwhelmed by the large crowd. He's not used to being part of such a large crowd without bodyguards or escorts. Madoka could barely hear Emi's question for his name.

Madoka sheepishly scratched the back of his head, he didn't like giving people his name, since they start to treat him differently after learning it, but he shouldn't hide it. "I don't mind it at all," He responded politely, he minded it a little, but its not her fault.

"My name is Madoka Wakabayashi."

Dante Verren Dante Verren

"Alright then, it is a pleasure to meet you Wakabayashi-kun." said Emi as she dodged around a few kids who were being idiots and standing in the middle of the hall. She sent a small glare the peoples way but they weren't paying attention, they were to busy gossiping. "Did you here that the student reps weren't even told about this assembly." said one of them. "Really? Thats weird?" commented another. "It must be some kind of special welcoming assembly if not even the class reps were told, I bet you the student council knows." says the first one.

Emi couldn't hear anything else from their conversation as the noise from the crowd was to loud and the group was farther back. Now she was curious.
"Hey Wakabayashi-kun, did you hear those guys back there? I wonder why we are having a surprise assembly. Maybe because of all the new transfers? I heard that there was quite a few of us transfers this year." rambled Emi. She was curious as to what he thought and she was trying to make conversation at the same time.
Katakon Katakon

Hana stumbled backwards for a second before she regained her balance. Aw..awkward!

"N-no it's on me. I should have looked where I was going." She said apologetically. Hana's sorrow eyes gazed up and down the figure stood in front of her, she remarked to herself how handsome the boy was. Hmm. Must be a third year.

"If you're headed to the assembly hall we could walk together." She remarked.

"Sure, i guess," Kyo said, shrugging his shoulders as he walked on. "I wonder what the staff is gonna discuss at this rally."

It was the start of a hopefully normal and boring day for Akira. He got dressed and had breakfast and before he left noticed a letter left for him from is caretaker. "Huh so she'll be gone for a few weeks hopefully I can stay out of trouble for once."

With that Akira began walking to his new school with minimal incidents until reaching the path just before the school where he began to hear unfortunate rumors.

"So did you hear?"

"About what all the transfer students?"
"Yeah Apparently one of them is a guy constantly starting fights, skipping classes and breaking laws."
"How'd he get in this school?"
"Not sure but I hope I don't run into the guy."

Akira let out a sigh and decided it's better to stay quiet and ignore it rather then do something. As soon as entering the building an announcement began to play.

Thank you-"

He decided it'd likely be best to try to find his way there though he wasn't quite sure where to go so he began wandering around for about 15 minutes before seeing several students walking in the same direction so he decided to follow behind.

Madoka was relived that Emi that didn't seem to recognized his name. People always changes when he introduces himself as a Wakabayashi, he hated it. He hate always being the heir of Wakabayashi corporation, instead of Madoka Wakabayashi. So its nice to have a person he can just be himself around, for even a short time.

"Likewise, Oda-San!" Madoka responded brightly. He hopes this lasts beyond this day. Madoka wasn't really listening to the gossip around them, but apparently the voices caught Emi's attention and she asked about the reason why the assembly was announced, Madoka shrug and simply said, "Seems likely, one transfer student is a big deal, several more even more so, I mean we're both transfer." Madoka replied honestly.

Dante Verren Dante Verren

"Very true, very true indeed." responded Emi as they stepped into the Gym. Using her hand to shade her eyes from the lights above, Emi quickly scanned they gym looking for a good spot to go. "Hmm... where to go... where to go... HAHA! I FOUND YOU!" Hurry Wakayabashi-kun, the perfect spot awaits!" She said excitedly as she ran off to the area she had spotted. The spots were located towards the front of the gym closer to stage, it was perfect for Emi because she wanted to see what special assemblies were like at this school, and that was something that was hard to do if you were i the back.

Hana raised her fingers to enter the pose of one in thought.
"It'll probably be a basic introduction to the school. Rules, regulations blah blah." She said non-nonchalantly.

The pair that were buried between the waves of students entered the stairs to reach the second floor. As she stepped carefully not to trip on another student, Hana picked up on the boy's posture and demeanor. He carried himself with a just dignity that made him seem respectable. Curious, she posed the question,

"Let me guess, you're hot shit around here huh?"

Rain watches the students a couple running down the hall and he catches them and their about to mouth off to him when he turns his ice cold gaze on them and says" all it takes is a word from me and that's a stain on your life here are you sure you want to continue to test me".

The boys shiver and then fall to the floor rain lets go and continues to walk down the hall watching other students and some of the teachers, some of the girls says"
Afternoon sensei there sure are a lot of students coming into our school i wonder if the rumours are true".

He waves back says"
people say a lot of things half on not more of it's utter rubbish and we all know what kind of people do that kind of thing" The girls pauses and thinks it over then says" Why are you so cold and blunt like that you'd be a lot more popular if you were nicer".

Expectations shape our realities, for it is our emotions and beliefs themselves that create reality at all. This was one of the myriad sentences inscribed into a small notebook. Upon the cover were etched the words "The Book of Thoughts". The book itself was a medium sized notebook, nothing too fancy but slightly impressive. Though the abstract title was a bit weird. Weirder still was the girl reading it and writing into it. She was a bit of a special case, as many of the teachers had been informed, hence why she was leaning along the wall of the gym and not in line with the rest. This she did appreciate. Unfortunately however, it made her stand out to everyone. Another thing that stood out was that she was not wearing the uniform at all, but rather casual clothes. This again, was due to her being a bit of a special case. She did not think like a normal human. In fact, some may not even consider her a human.

Takara did not consider herself human either.

These labels simply did not matter to her. Rather, she did not define herself as a human, but as herself. And all she was doing was observing each of the students and teachers. She closed The Book of Thoughts and put it within her backpack. Then from the same bag she produced another notebook and began writing in it as she observed it. If observed, the title would be quite unnerving to all who read it.

The Book of Flesh.

The Book of Flesh.

Rain could see her out of the corner of his eye and coldly smirks and then not long after another teacher waiting says" there's quite a mix of students this year as one of the semi new teachers ,your probably going to end up bouncing between classrooms".

Rain sighed and says" it's not like i'm not used to dealing with mess in one shape or another just as long as no broken legs and such i'll deal with things according".

As all would enter, Takara would continue to scribble in her notebook. It would appear that she actually went out of her way to make sure that The Book of Flesh was actually flesh colored. She smiled, still taking notes on everyone she saw and all the things around her. Descriptions, predictions, and just small ideas she had about these people. Maybe she could even guess which among them were the transfer students.

She did not notice the teacher look at her, as she was too busy taking all of these notes. She however was quite interested in the chance of meeting people who may be able to think in the same way she does. One of the most important things within The Book of Flesh was the part where she marked those with "potential". This simply met that she thought that these people were capable of thinking on her level. Mind you, she did not believe that this had anything to do with intelligence, but rather wisdom. She was essentially scouting the field for people who were capable of what she considered to be rational thought, or if not that something that would interest her. She did hope that she could find people like this. Many of her previous schools only had one to three of these at most, and even then there was no promise that they would necessarily even desire to interact with her.

She could only hope and continue to write in her book as the rumors about her being a serial killer began.

Madoka and Emi arrived to the school's gymnasium, Madoka looked up at the lights absentmindedly before blinking and shaking his eyes after staring for a moment too long. He barely noticed what Emi said, but he seen her run off forward which he perked up at and quickly follow suit right behind her. They arrived near the front of the gym near the stage. Madoka sat next to her and he looked all around the gym in curiosity. Its rare for him to just be a normal student, he knew this won't last long. "I wonder what'll they talk about?" Madoka asked curiously at Emi.

Dante Verren Dante Verren

"Hmm, Probably just welcoming us transfers and going over the basic rules, stuff like that." replied Emi as she looked around the ever filling up gym. "Maybe they have some kind of special event planned? That would be cool if it was a special welcome event to show off school spirit or something like that. Of course considering the moods of the students I highly doubt that." continued Emi. Her gaze fell on a student who wasn't dressed in uniform leaning against the wall of the gym by themselves. Wonder why they are by themselves, maybe a new transfer as well. oh well. Emi turned her attention back on to the stage, "I wonder what kind if there are any ghost hanging around." she murmured.

"Who, me? Oh, I'm just the students council rep for class 2B," Kyo replied humbly. "I don't really do much besides go to meetings and help out others." He listened in on the conversations of the other students, hearing rumors of criminal transfer students and the like. "I'm Kyo Senbu, by the way."

"Oooh student council? You must be popular with the chicks here huh?" Hana snarkily remarked. The two students made it down the set of stairs, nearing the gymnasium. The constant bashing of students against her was beginning to get to Hana. I hate having all these randoms touch me!

Takara, upon seeing the new arrivals, smiled. They thought they had a pretty good idea of who the transfer students were in this crowd. By now they would have heard the others talking about them, and promptly refused to care. If these people were engaging in all of this rumor mongering it meant that their lives had so little meaning that they had to bring down others to their level to feel better about themselves.

They considered those people subhuman and not worth their time.

Thought out of this crowd, they did feel like a good number might actually have the potential. They rapidly scribbled more in their Book of Flesh about these new people. Hopefully this would pan out, but if they all turned out to be not worth their time it wouldn't be like they lost anything. Takara didn't have anything to lose right now after all.
