Tradition. An ancient practice built into the fabric of any society. Every nation and every society has got its tradition. Thus when a Westerner shakes hands with a friend or an acquaintance, or a musalman says 'salam' it is in the best of traditions. Traditions may speak of good breeding. Tradition is reflected in one's manners. Traditions help in the free and unobstructed flow of life. Traditions are almost an unwritten code of life.
Thus, if there's a capture the flag game every Friday in camp half-blood, why stop it? Exactly, and that's what was going on that bright day in camp half-blood. A capture the flag game between Ares/Hephaestus and Hecate/Apollo. They were able to pick any other Cabin to join, and up to two other cabins on each side, so a max of eight cabins were competing with up to four on each side. Yet, the day was very relaxed. Some smack talk here and there, everyone was excited for the game. With an hour before the game officially started, the heads of the teams still needed to pick other cabins to join. With everyone on the edge of their seats, the councilors of each cabin met in the big house so the councilors of of the Ares, Hephaestus, Hecate, and Apollo cabins could tell the others who they wanted to join them.

Aria was, as some others, requested by the praetor for a mission of sorts. She completely understood why she was requested to go, not in any arrogant way, but.. she could definitely be reliable for whatever were to happen. The only question that she had was what exactly this mission was and why it was so important. There was a large group of them, and that's what she didn't completely understood. All Dali had informed them off was that they were retrieving some demigod that wasn't in the proper camp. Literally this was because some foolish camper left Camp Jupiter. For what reason, Aria wasn't sure. Did she care? No. The situation was absurd. It was crazy. Pointless.

It wasn't that she wasn't happy to be out and about on something that could be potentially interesting by goodness, was this just as equally frustrating. Why did they need so many campers? They were wasting energy on someone who just didn't know how to follow basic procedures and rules. Whatever reason they had for leaving Camp Jupiter, Aria didn't care. There was no excuse for this.

The Roman daughter of Apollo stood as tall as possible, barely over five feet if you'd like to be specific, with a straight back. She had that typical glint in her eyes, a reflection of the sunlight. The one thing missing from Aria's face was her smile. She was most definitely upset from their journey so far. It wasn't really fun by any means. Strapped to her thigh was a journal, a bit worn out, but a journal nonetheless with a pencil tucked between the pages. Reminder: Do Not Touch The Journal. Higher up, strapped to her waist, was a dagger of imperial gold. To her other side was a twin double edged sword. Same material: imperial gold. Typical Roman gear. Unlike many others, she usually had a bow, despite it being a discouraged weapon in the Camp Jupiter community. Today she held it in her hand, a tight grip on the bow's handle. If any bothered her, she was prepared to smack them upside the head with it.

Not that it should be necessary.

"Dali, could you please more properly explain why all of us are here for this one stupid demigod? I mean, what are they gonna do, gang up on us for trying to take back a Roman?" The brunette asked finally, a brow arched as she came to a halt. They had finally arrived at the entrance of the camp, well, close to it anyways. The hills were clear in the distance. Her questioned remained for her praetor, eyes glancing between the fourteen year old and his fellow praetor, Theo.

Nolan had spent his day training in the arena, as per usual. It was expected of him. Well, if he hadn't been training, he would have been lounging around in the Ares cabin. Or quite possibly in the forge, adoring all of the new weapons or potentially sharpening one of his own swords. Not to be confused with creating his own. Though he was good at designing some fancy sword, he wouldn't be capable of going through the process. He'd likely grow frustrated and soon enough give up.

Regardless, now you know how he spent his day. Today was a Friday, though. That meant that they were preparing to play some capture the flag. It was tradition. Something Nolan rather enjoyed. Especially since today, his cabin would be one of the captains. For the past week, Nolan had been forming different strategies and ideas based on which other cabins to have as their team members. Of course, he wasn't cabin counselor so it wasn't completely up to him.

But he was co-counselor, and Dani was basically 100% his biological sister. Even if she wouldn't admit it, he knew she loved him. Or at least tolerated him a little more than the others.

Listen, point was, he had plans and he wouldn't leave her alone until she actually took them into consideration. Nolan trailed after her, hair a mess and a red t-shirt clinging to his torso. "Okay, so I was thinking that we would most definitely have the Nike cabin on our side. It's kind of a necessary thing, you know how competitive they get. Also, they'd totally put the odds on our side." He said quickly, gesturing to the notes that he'd previously written on a sheet of very crumpled up paper. His eyes were trained on his older sister, an annoyed look beginning to form on his face. "Come on, are you even listening? This is super important." He complained, crumpling his paper right back up into a ball and stuffing it in the pocket of his shorts.

Dani had spent her early morning running and drilling herself. There had been something off all day, something that just didn't sit well with her and she knew there was going to be a fight at some point. She was preparing, but let's face it when wasn't she preparing? She loved being in the ring, she loved being at the arena handling her weapons the fire in her stomach that was lit each time she grabbed her mother's daggar or her sword. It was amazing.

She had taken a short break to walk the camp, they were preparing for tonights events, and as co-counselor she had to pick the different cabins that would have been on her team. She was walking and it seemed just to bother her, her brother Nolan came up. She didn't want to think about capture the flag, she just wanted to think, and be alone.

"No I'm not paying attention what?" Dani asked her brother looking as he had thrown the paper in his pocket. She stopped and reached in to get it unfurling it to see what he had written. It looked good, it was definitely a plan, one that she hadn't cared to come up with yet. "There is more to life that capture the flag, and besides we don't need anyone we're the children of Ares of course we're going to win." she smirked looking up at her brother before shoving the paper back into his chest.

"Looks good, we'll use that."

Piper spent her morning in the lonely cabin number three, hearing the sounds of the sea in her head. She sat with her eyes closed and brought herself to peace. With how powerful she could be it was important that she had these moments to herself, to ground herself, and to make sure that she had an even head before braving the rest of the camp. After a few hours she heard people moving around and talking, coming around to her cabin not in it but outside of it. Then they moved on, still it prompted her to get up and take out her hair tie shaking loose her beach wavy hair.

She left her cabin to visit the cabins around the camp to check in. Tonight would be the camp wide event, and she would sit on the sidelines. No one ever picked her, and even if they did she didn't think it would be fair to play. She stopped by Cabin 6 first, since she knew the ares children would be out and about planning and strategizing with each other. She popped in to see Elena, one of the girls she had taken a particular liking to. She always liked the Athena cabin, it was so quaint and brainiac like.

"Hey...good morning." she said tenderly smiling at her.

Wolfgang Holland

Wolfgang has been up all night in the Athena cabin. His bunk decorated with game plans and strategys for the flag game. He anticipates that Nolan would most likely convince Dani to recruit the Athena cabin. Would make sense to. But he also had strategys if he was on the Apollo/Hecate cabin as well.
"Sheiß. Your over reacting herr. Wolfig."
He mutters under his breath. Then by sues the romans had to show up so he had to fix the plans even more
"Well. If I'm luckily, which is highly improbable, I should be placed with nolans team."
He rubs his Blue eyes, heihx have bags on them from the nigh before.
"Nonetheless, My team will be sure to win. After all, I'm there, and the rest of my wonderful team"
He smiles and grabs his Nike sports bag that he won from a game of cards, from a Nike cabin mate. Wolfgang has a bright smile as he grabs. A simple shirt to put on his half naked body.
"I wouldn't make the aphrodite cabin proud but messy, least minute is a decent look."
He chuckles and decided that he should be leaving now

Alex Greyson

It was the day of Capture the Flag and Alex hadn't been approached by anyone for his cabin to join their side. Him and his little brother made quite a team. Maybe someone would by the end of the day. As of right now he was too busy chowing down into his lunch. He had already made an offering to his father and Persephone. She wasn't so bad if you stayed on her good side. He quickly finished and put away his dirty dish. He walked out of the mess hall with his hands behind his back. A late lunch due to sleeping in, and he wasn't even sure if there was activities today.

So what was a Son of Hades to do? Then it dawned on him, he had forgotten. He was supposed to head to the big house to meet with the other councilors to choose teams. He face-palmed and rubbed it down his face until it fell to his side. He picked up a quick pace as he ran to the big house. He swung around and rushed up the stairs. Swinging the door open he skidded to a halt when he was inside. Masking his embarrassment with a smile he sat down in a nearby chair. "Good morning~." he chirped. For a Son of Hades he wasn't doom and gloom, which made him unusual.

THEO RUSSELL

theo russell | 17 | m | bisexual | praetor |
son of venus | 187 lb | 5' 9"| black hair

The child of Venus ran a hand through his hair, he had never been more confused. Sure he understood the need to obtain a child of Vulcan from the Greek camp, but he couldn't help but feel like there was more to it than that. Why would they need two praetors and a squadron of Roman demigods to do it. Theo sighed, knowing all to well that he would never understand the Gods or the things they asked them to do. He glanced behind him at the group as they prepared to enter the camp. Theo did a quick double check of his weapons, all three charms remained on the necklace, ready to be used at a moments notice. In his bag sat a another dagger that he had snagged from the Camp forges before they left. he wasn't expecting any fighting or any negative responses to them showing up but you never knew what could happen, especially after the relationship the two camps had in the past.

Theo glanced over at his fellow Praetor, Dali, when one of the campers approached and asked a questions. He was young but he was smart and he had an air to him that contradicted everything and anything people said about him behind his back. Theo turned to the Demigod, recognizing her as one of the daughters of Apollo, an excellent warrior, with and without her bow. He gave her a genuine wide smile. "We are here for demigods, specifically children of Vulcan. But to be completely on honest, I don't think either of us have anymore information other then that, but I can't speak for Dali." Theo answered at her question. "At least I cant offer you anymore information."

Capture the flag was always fun for Orelan.
The cocky little son of Apollo took after his father- but was just really aggressive. Music loving and great at singing [Not to toot his own horn] and decent at playing the guitar. the only difference... he didn't like archery. The 17 year old boy preferred throwing knives, and was luckily almost as accurate with them as his siblings were with bows and arrows. The black haired Japanese-Canadian was getting ready for the oh so fun of capture the flag. The main day of the week he didn't have to sit down and waste away, waiting for either a chance to fight monsters, a quest that would include him, or the following Friday.

Gods he hated the uniform of the camp... bright orange... blah! He didn't like it but what else should he do? Write a formal complaint to Chiron to get ignored like the others? He just had to suck it up.
Orelan looked around for the team that the Apollo cabin was a part of... Zeus, where were they? Did they all ditch and join a different team?
As he was glancing around the camp he noticed something unusual... the purple shirts of New Rome. They got the Romans into this session?! Ohoho, Oreo's going to have fun if that's the case! The black haired boy decided to do something out of pure interest- he walked up to the Roman folk.

Once he had gotten up to the few Camp Jupiter members, he decided to say 'hello' to them. "Heyo, Romies! How was the trip to get here?" he asked, a large smile on his face. What? The girls were cute and he was [somewhat] desperate to flirt with a few girls. Don't ask why it's just an old habit from his past. "I take it that it was lacking many monsters?" he asked, really really interested in how monsters were acting right now, especially with rumors he heard from the Hermes kids-Though he knew better than to trust Hermes kids. They just intrigued him either way "Sorry, i forgot to introduce myself. Im Orelan Funeme, Son of Apollo." he added, putting his hand out as an offer to shake theirs.

He maybe aggressive but he liked peace as much as the next guy.

Nolan stared down at his sister, a blank expression clear as day on his face. He wasn't sure how to react. He'd just been approved, yes. That was exactly what he had wanted. But she didn't argue, she didn't make any other comment except for agreeing to his ideas. Which, mind you, she'd spent about ten seconds reading over. But Nolan couldn't just.. be angry about it. Technically he'd gotten what he wanted. A relative form of praise. Probably the most amount of praise that he would ever receive from his elder sister.

Nonetheless, he refused to argue. He just sighed and stuffed the paper back into his front pocket. She was right. They were children of Ares and they would win without a doubt. He was sure of that. But there was never anything wrong with a plan, that's for sure. Maybe he should tell her how important a plan was, just in case..? Besides, he'd only actually mentioned the Nike cabin. He hadn't even gotten to the Athena cabin yet. Having them on the opposition would definitely be interesting..

Nolan really hadn't even realized he wasn't moving before he blinked and noticed his sister still making her way towards the big house. With a shake of his head, he jogged to catch up with her. "Have you ever thought of recruiting the Athena cabin? Clearly, they're quite good at following orders and making plans as well. The only positive of not having them on our team is the frustrated look when we beat them. That's like.. cotton candy on a stick." At his last comment, Nolan could literally feel drool run down the corner of his lip. What could he say? Cotton candy was good.

Aria blinked at Theo's comment, her frustrated and puzzled face soon drifting off. Well, she couldn't really blame him. Not that she was thinking about it anyways. Aria didn't question authority much, well, maybe that's a lie. She did stand up when she though there was an issue or that something better could be done. If she disagreed with the praetors, she would most definitely be open about such thoughts. If they were doing work wrong, they needed feedback. And any true leader would be willing to take that feedback. Perhaps why Aria wouldn't be the best of a leader. She had good qualities but she was also quite stubborn.

Even with Theo telling her exactly what he knew, which was exactly what she knew, she wasn't satisfied. She understood and accepted she wouldn't get much more information unless Dali decided to speak up, but she wasn't necessarily completely satisfied with his responses. Nonetheless, she didn't push him for any further answers. No further questions. The daughter of Apollo simply gave the charming young praetor a nod and then bounced on her heels. It felt wrong to turn away, not unless dismissed. Not that she cared or needed to be dismissed. But she hadn't actually said bye. And nobody else was talking, nor seemingly going in any distinct way for that matter. Were they even allowed to just enter the camp? It's not like it was theirs. They hadn't given any warning.

"Well, I suppose we'll figure out what we're truly meant to be doing, sooner or later." Aria said matter-of-factly, her tone soft. She wanted to end the strange silence that had begun to fill the space between them. Though Aria couldn't help but take a glance at Dali. Would he attempt to answer her questions at all?

Elena had been minding her own business, as per usual. Of course, she'd greeted a few people throughout her day but for once she simply remained at her bunk, having pulled a foldable table in front of her and spread out her papers. In the Athena cabin, there were several different little work areas that things could be discussed or books read. Though Elena, today at least, had preferred to sit alone and write some things down. She was nothing like her brother, she wasn't counselor like big ol' Wolfy. She wasn't in charge.

But she had an interest in such roles and duties. She especially had an interest in battle strategies. Perhaps she could pass for an Ares kid.. nope. No, she was nothing like Dani. Perhaps a bit more like Nolan but still not quite. She literally looked like a bookworm. Or so she thought. Regardless, Elena was planning strategies for the upcoming Capture the Flag game.

She'd literally just finished with a new idea when she noticed her brother preparing to leave. And so, with that, Lena jumped up with each of her notes, journal and pencil and hand, to rush over to him. Until none other than the friendly daughter of Poseidon popped in. Now, it wasn't that Lena didn't like Piper, but this was the worst timing possible. She had things to do. "Oh, Piper! Shouldn't you be at the Big House?"

Dalian Beom Sook Najarro Na
Location: Half Blood Hill/The Big House
Dali walked pretty happily with his fellow demigods as they approached the camp. As he paced towards the entrance, his skips getting bouncier in every stride, one of the others spoke up. The young Praetor listenedm for a minute and nodded. Before he could answered Theo tried to answer to the best of abilities and kind of got no where. That's when Aria wrapped up what their mini convo and Dali turned around, raised his eyebrows, and answered," Huh" he said turning out to only be half listening. He kind of heard Theo's answer, so playing off that Dali gave a better reply,"Well, we're not here specifically for a child of Vulcan. One of the Gods lost something here. That's all the augur could tell me. My guess is a child because it would make sense, which is why I'm saying a child of Vulcan because when they're claimed, their symbols are exactly the same. So we should look out for that. Otherwise it could easily be an item of sorts, which is why more of us are here. Because we can't just have like three people looking for who knows what. A search party is probably better. You know?" The child of Terminus looked to his party and smiled brightly,"Don't worry guys. We can do this! And stop complaining out loud if you can bear it. It's really annoying," Dali said as they approached the big house. He definitely didn't know his way around camp, but walked until they got there. Dali himself only knew that the big house had a porch. So it was a lucky guess that it was the right place.
"Let's go in. If we have a problem be ready, but we probably won't." Dali opened the door into the big house and looked around. Cozy, not that small either. He looked for a horse looking man, but couldn't find him,"Is uh... Chiron here," Dali said, his eyes still looking for him.
A second later an old looking centaur walked into the room and replied,"Was I summoned? Oh, and who are you," he asked authoritatively looking down on the little demigod.
"I am Dalian Beom Sook Najarro Na. Son of Terminus, a praetor of Camp Jupiter. We are here on official business looking for something one of our Gods 'lost'. We have no idea what it is, but do expect it to be a child of Vulcan, if a person. We do not know yet, or if we will be able to know, so is it okay if we can see all of the kids from your Hephaestus cabin for a start? It is important we retrieve what we're here for." The child looked gave Chiron puppy eyes just for extra measure. In case he was thinking no.
"Of course young travelers! You are all welcome to stay here until you find what or who you're looking for. We will prepare accordingly, but this might have to wait until tomorrow. Today, we have capture the flag. A sacred tradition here if you are alright with that. Would you like to join us," Chiron asked knowing the answer was yes.
Dali overlooked his team for a second. He knew after what Chiron had said they weren't going to be happy, but Dali was very flexible and agreed,"Sure! I am very honored you are letting us stay here at all. I thank you on behalf of camp Jupiter and we would love to join you for a game of capture the flag." Dali knew his team of demigods were only going to get rowdier and rowdier, so why not a game of capture of the flag if they were going to be at the camp for what seemed like a minute. Hopefully everyone else was going to comply but Dali knew they probably would despite complaints. He was completely ready for capture the flag though. He was told stories at camp Jupiter of what Camp Half-Blood was like, and so far it fit the description pretty well. It was awesome! That's when Chiron interrupted his thoughts and turned to the kids at the ping pong table, probably discussing something important,"Hecate, Apollo, Ares, and Hephaestus cabins. Choose your cabins, then pick your choice of Romans. That's all," the centaur said before pacing out of the room to attend to his own duties at the moment.
