Road work ahead? Uh, I sure hope it does...
Palace Life
1599158941765.jpeg

All castles have their drama, sure. But this one seems to have more than its fair share. Located in the capital city of Illyria, Lynburn Castle Is home to hundreds of people, ranging from stable boys to the young Crown Prince and his younger siblings. Did I forget the King and Queen? No. Their Majesties, King Johnathan and Queen Rosalee were killed by rebels four years ago, along with Maggie, the sweet young princess. Now, the throne sits Kingless, as ancient law states that the Prince cannot be crowned until he is 20 years of age.

You can RP as any character of your choosing, as any status and any ranking. You can make up territories for a Lord or Lady. Romance is allowed, encouraged, really (it keeps things interesting). You can start anywhere, talk to anyone, just try to be as realistic (and literate) as possible. Bios (yes you can have more than one character) can be submitted below in a post and should contain the following information:

Name, Age, Ranking/Job, Picture or Description of Character, Sexual Orientation, Personality and anything else you wish for everyone to know.

That’s it! Have fun, and try to stay active! I’d like this RP to be as free flowing as possible!

Crown Prince Nathaniel Lynburn
Male|19|”Nate”|Straight
Personality: Nate is broken, still, from his parent’s and sister’s deaths. As Crown Prince, soon to be crowned King, it is his duty to put a face on, show his Kingdom that he was not bothered, that he had moved on. So he gave the world what the wanted: an arrogant, smiling, reckless young prince, notorious with the ladies, cunning with his words, charming with his smile. Inside, however, he was lonely, and scared. Scared that he would become King and that his people would hate him, that he would lead them all to ruin.

Isabel Carter
Female|Court Muscian|18|Straight
Personality: Isabel is the sweetest person you’ll ever meet, but she’s not weak. She does tend to be a bit naive, thinking the best of everyone, but some wonder if that is just a facade she puts up to hide that cunning mind from sight. Not for a bad reason, but as the only mercy she could give in a world of people hiding themselves from sight. Her singing had earned her the spot in court when she 14, but the death of her parents, and the King and Queen had delayed her arrival until now. Almost five years later.

Three months. Nate had three months until what little freedom he had as Crown Prince was taken away. Three months until his coronation, on his twentieth birthday. He could barely manage himself, much less a whole kingdom. Thousands, if not millions of people were going to be relying on him. He didn’t know how to be a King, didn’t know how to do anything, not now that his parents and Magnolia, Maggie, were gone. In the almost five years since their passing, there was a void in Nathaniel’s chest where they used to be. Such writhing darkness that filled his core. No one noticed, or if they did they certainly didn’t say anything. So he showed them what they wanted to see: the arrogant, charming Crown Prince, who didn’t have a care in the world. They hadn’t noticed that he hadn’t laughed in those five years, either. Not once.

Now, Nate stood pacing on his balcony, watching a the guards admitted someone. A girl, it appeared, though from this distance it was hard to tell. He wondered who it was.

——
Isabel stood in front of the castle gates, mesmerized by the towering castle, the beautiful fountains, by everything. She was finally here, almost five years after her invitation. She had received the letter in the mail last week, from the King’s Hand, telling her that her invitation was still open, and that she was to come to the castle immediately. She supposed he was the Crown Prince’s hand, now that there was no king. Not for another three months at least. Isabel wondered what the Royals would be like. What the Lords and Ladies and staff would be like. She hoped they were nice.

Lord Nicolas Hart
Male|Straight|19|“Nick”
Personality: Nick is your average Lord, at first appearance. You know, the whole deal? Cocky, arrogant and kind of a prick. He’s also kind of a player. But to those who know him as he truly is, he is smart, kind, charming, funny, and the most loyal person you’ll ever meet. Truth is, his status as Lord of the biggest territory in the Kingdom has made people fear him, or want to use him for leverage in court, so he’s never had any real friends.

Selena Sparks
Healer|Female|18|Straight
Personality: Selena is quiet, and easily embarrassed. She is kind, but not overly so, and she doesn’t let people walk all over her. As a healer, she has learned to keep a straight face, even when something terrible has happened, making her seem cold to others. She is very intelligent, and does not trust easily, and has had bad experiences with the Lords and Ladies of the castle so she doesn’t like them, or the Royals very much.

(I hope that’s okay, I tried to make it look as much like yours as possible)

Lord Nicolas Hart stood in the court yard, pacing. He was gloriously bored, and none of the guards wished to practice swordplay with him. The Prince was in his rooms, probably sulking, as he was prone to do. Nicolas didn’t blame him. If his own parents had died instead of leaving as they did, he would sulk too. He shook his head, pushing his parents from his mind. They had been involved with several underground businesses in the slums of the Capital City, and after the King and Queen’s death, they left, going Gods knew where. Leaving Nick as Lord of Aurum, the Kingdom’s biggest territory at only 15.

At least there was someone new to entertain him, he thought as he spied the guards at the front gate opening it for a girl who looked about his age. He wondered who she was. Not a Lady, that was for sure, smirking as he beheld her plain clothes and cloak. She was attractive, sure, but beyond that he had no clue what she was, why she was here, or where she was from. He sauntered up to her, as she stepped through the gates, her not even noticing him as she looked around in amazement.

Perfect, he thought, bumping into her as if he hadn’t seen her either.

Selena Sparks was sick of her dark storeroom they called an office. It smelled of dust, and the herbs she used to make poultices and tonics, the smells overwhelming in such a small space. The only light came from the lanterns she placed around the room, offering her only dim light to see by. She didn’t know why Sylvia, the Healer on High hated her so much. It had always been that way, since she was an apprentice almost 8 years ago. Now, she was one of the most respected healers in the castle, second to only Sylvia herself. An impressive feat at only 18.

Deciding she’d had enough of her dungeon of a workspace for the day, she stepped out into the hallway of the healer’s corridor and made her way upstairs, to talk a walk in the main gardens, hoping she wouldn’t see any bumbling Lords or Ladies there.
