Salutations! You can find the most important rules for P.W.W compiled here. Please note that the other threads may also have their own rule sections regarding minor topics. I HIGHLY recommend that you do not skip over this thread since some of the information covered will be crucial to the world's lore. Please also note that while I am very patient and understanding, multiple offenses will most likely get you removed from the Roleplay, so please do not try to bend or ignore the rules.

~ ~ ~Night's Twenty Golden Chat Rules~ ~ ~

1.
While you are not required to post in the OOC chat, I still recommend getting to know the other Roleplayers and occasionally checking in so you will not miss any important announcements. Communicating is a crucial part of Roleplaying because it helps ease the tension OOC and allows you to make plans with the other members. Remember, we are all here to have fun and build a great community together. We don't bite!

2. If you decide to participate in the OOC chat, please do not harass anyone over what happens IC, and please respect everyone's beliefs.

3. Please do not make any insensitive comments or joke around with dark unfunny topics. If someone tells you that something you said made them uncomfortable, please drop the topic and do not mention it again or argue.

4. If you have an issue with another member, please privately message one of the moderators about it (Night or Peanut), DO NOT directly confront the other player.

5. Please do not clutter up the OOC chat with irrelevant spam.

6. If a moderator has asked you to stop doing something, please do not argue with them.

7. If you disagree with something that happened IC and no moderators are around, please try to have a civil conversation about it and compromise with the other player.

8. Please DO NOT act conceited about your characters and belittle other people's characters because you feel as if yours is better. (For example, please do not say that your character would instantly win in a fight because they're the best, or a player's team is too weak to be any good).

9. Please be open to constructive criticism, and please be mindful of the criticism you are giving. (Some constructive criticism ends up being more harmful than helpful).

10. No bigotry, homophobia, racism, sexism, nationalism, or any other form of social discrimination.

11. Please try to avoid religious or political topics, as these tend to lead to arguments. (We are here to discuss Pokémon and Roleplay, not talk about the presidential debate).

12. If you have an ongoing private conversation with someone, please do not reveal any information regarding that player's character plans or personal matters in the OOC chat. (Especially if they asked you not to).

13. Please do not post any inappropriate form of media. Please be wary of triggering topics and do not post pictures of extreme gore.

14. Discussing extreme gore is allowed if it relates to something that happened IC, but please be mindful of other players and either hide your message in a spoiler or post a warning in advance.

15. Cussing is allowed in the OOC chat, but please try not to swear like a sailor.

16. Please do not spam someone to get their attention.

17. If you have not been active in the OOC chat or IC for a very long time and have not responded to our attempts to contact you, we will presume that you are no longer interested in the Roleplay and remove you from the OOC chat.

18. If you find yourself becoming too heated to handle a conversation, please step away from the OOC chat and come back once you have calmed down.

19. If you did end up having a heated discussion with another member, please apologize to the player once both parties have reached a compromise and calmed down.

20. If a moderator is online when a heated dispute breaks out, please notify us, and we will handle it.

~ ~ ~Night's Fourteen Golden IC Rules~ ~ ~

1.
Please do not control other player's characters or NPCs without their permission.

2. Please do not control lore-related NPCs that you have not created unless the creator explicitly permitted you.

3. If you are participating in a fight scene with another player, please do not have your character dictate the pace of the fight, give the other player time to respond first. (For example, do not have your character tackle someone to the ground and instantly pin them down, then tie them up in the same post). The only exception to this rule would be if you collaborated with the other player ahead of time, and you both agreed to have your character tackle and tie-down theirs.

4. Please try to be realistic when fighting NPCs and other characters. If it seems like your character is going to be hit by an attack, please do not come up with a random excuse to have them dodge it. It does not make for fun battles when you try to bend the rules because you do not want your character to lose. (Your character cannot win every fight). Instead, focus on not putting your character in peculiar or dangerous situations. Many things are avoidable if you pay attention to important details. For example, if someone handed your character a suspicious-looking cup of water and you decided to have your character drink it anyway, it would be your fault for ignoring the implied signs. I am not an unfair owner, but I will not tolerate blatant arrogance and Mary Sues.

5. Please do not have your characters kill off other characters or player-made NPCs without the owner's permission.

6. Please do not have your character and their Pokémon land every attack during a fight. While I am not using an RNG generator to roll for accuracy, if I see that people are breezing through fights, I will have no choice but to start rolling for every attack. (Fights are supposed to be challenging and encourage character growth and teamwork, not the other way around).

7. I probably do not need to explain this, but please skip over the "steamy" parts of certain events regarding your characters. You may imply the actions, but most people here probably do not want to know the details.

8. While dark themes are allowed in this Roleplay, please put potentially triggering topics or extreme gore in a spoiler tab and provide a general warning on your post.

9. Please try to make everyone feel included in your posts, especially if someone specifically mentioned your character or if their character was already in the same area as yours. It can be very hurtful to feel ignored or feel like your efforts have been going to waste.

10. Please do not look overlook other people's posts because they do not include your character. You may be missing out on important information that might come up later, and it is rude to skip over other people's posts in general.

11. Please do not skip ahead if you already started an interaction with someone's character. It is rude to engage people in conversation and then leave them behind because their posting speed was not up to your standard.

12. There are no posting deadlines, but we ask that you inform us before taking long hiatuses. Please do not have your characters start interacting with others if you already know you will be busy. (This traps players in interactions that they cannot respond to and eventually causes the Roleplay to die out).

13. Please do not have your characters deviate from the group. While you may have your characters separate temporarily for side quests, character development, or due to IC events, your characters should not be running off and creating their own distracting arcs within the Roleplay. P.W.W focuses on a small cast of characters and the bond they will develop, not your self-centered main character arcs.

14. There is nothing wrong with contributing to the lore and world-building, but creating arcs and villains that solely focus on developing your character alone is excessive. It is not fun to make people and their characters feel like side characters, so please remember to include everyone. This is a collaborative group project, after all. Your character is not the only protagonist.

~ ~ ~Night's Twenty-Two Golden Lore Rules~ ~ ~

1.
Please note that P.W.W. is not like the main Pokémon series and features realistic themes and a darker setting. Things like Pokémon cruelty, cannibalism, humans eating Pokémon, Pokemon eating Pokémon, Pokémon perishing in the wild, cults, wars, mental illnesses, substance use, triggering topics, gruesome deaths, and much more exist in this world. Moves like Scratch and Slash will cut people/other Pokémon, and your Pokémon will be able to die from their wounds, get infections, starve to death, succumb to harsh temperatures, and become sick. Note that this does not mean Pokémon are fragile beings in this world either. Pokémon have evolved to survive many dangerous hits and last much longer in battle. Pokémon also recover much faster than the average human, and their injuries are treatable with potions, magic, and some berries. I am merely reminding you to be cautious with your Pokémon because while your Pokémon are much stronger than humans, they can still die if your characters act recklessly.

2. Unlike the main Pokémon series, turn-based battles do not exist in this world. Fights happen in real-time, weapons exist, and your characters can fight alongside your Pokémon. One wrong slip could leave your character and their Pokémon fatally wounded or dead. Your Pokémon are your fateful companions. Work with them, not against them.

3. Things like stats and levels do not exist in this world. They solely exist for the moderators to keep track of power-scaling, so do not concern yourself with them.

4. Please note that your characters will be the first batch of characters to own a Taming-Stone, so some of the NPCs in Aspen may not take kindly to your characters running around and abducting tons of Pokémon. (Especially if you capture already tamed Pokémon).

5. The max number of Pokémon that your character can store in their Taming-Stone is six, but they can have an additional seventh that travels around with them in the overworld.

6. Eighteen types of magic exist in Aspen, each based on one of the unique Pokémon elemental types. Magic is typically a rare feat in Aspen (You must either be a Magic-Born or possess a Magic-Stone to use magic), making the most common Magic-Users those of either high nobility, royalty, or military authority. (Though you can still become a Magic-User if you are lucky enough to be born with magic or stumble across one of the elusive Magic-Stones). Although I will expand upon magic more in the Lore Thread, to give you a basic summary, a mythical Pokémon blessed humanity with the gift of magic long ago to help humans survive in the wild and establish a society. Magic is one of the most useful tools ever bestowed to humankind, though magic can have many dangerous or helpful properties, so humans must use it wisely. Please note that not all Magic-Users get along, and some magical practices are particularly disliked or banned in Aspen. For example, Ghost-Magic is the equivalent of witchcraft in this world, and those who practice Ghost-Magic are typically associated with being witches and shunned/burned at the stake for their crimes. (Please note that some weapons and items in Aspen may possess enchants, which gives them magical properties).

7. Legendary and Mythical Pokémon are the equivalent of gods and deities in Aspen. Many kingdoms/towns have their own religion built around worshipping a particular Legendary/Mythical, which is a highly respected custom. These deities are extraordinarily powerful, and even getting to interact with a Legendary/Mythical Pokémon is considered a once-in-a-lifetime feat, so do not expect to go around capturing every Legendary/Mythical.

8. Shiny Pokémon are very rare in Aspen, and they gain a stat increase that exceeds the average Pokémon skill cap. (Quadruple the stats if it is a Shiny Legendary or Mega Evolved Pokémon). I will use an RNG generator to roll for every random Pokémon encounter to determine if it is a Shiny Pokémon. If it is Shiny, it is up to you to determine its fate. (Please note that Shinies do not sparkle in this world, they face a mere color change).

9. To capture a Pokémon in a Taming Stone, you must either weaken them or have a high enough bond with them. I will be using an RNG generator to roll for capture/bond rates. Capture rates do not apply to overworld captures, such as using bait to lure and trap a Pokémon in a cage. (Note that a Pokémon captured through a Taming-Stone will be loyal to you and recover health automatically when stored inside it, whereas wild Pokémon may not be loyal to you even after you capture them in the overworld).

10. Although nurseries do not exist in Aspen, Pokémon can still breed and lay eggs. Pokémon hatched from eggs have a much higher loyalty rate, but not all eggs may be fertile. Eggs are delicate and can break, while some can turn out to be duds. Breeding two separate Pokémon species from the same Egg Group (For example, breeding a Meowth with a Skitty) may result in the offspring having birth defects and alter its typing, ability, moves, and current form. These Pokémon Fusions are a result of human-forced interbreeding and are a typically rare feat in the wild. Breeding two Pokémon of the same species (A Skitty with a Skitty) results in normal offspring. Please note that some creations in this world are better off not existing, and I will not be accepting living abominations into P.W.W. Please try to keep your Pokémon somewhat realistic. Breeding with a Shiny parent slightly increases the chances for the offspring to be Shiny. Please note that not all Pokémon in Aspen are breedable. Some Pokémon like Ghost-Types rarely reproduce, making Ghost-Type Fusions extraordinarily rare.

11. Although Pokémon gyms do not exist in Aspen, some places still host beauty competitions or fighting tournaments for their Pokémon. Please note that because a Pokémon's main priority is to survive in the wild, you will not see them using flashy moves that trainers teach their Pokémon. A wild Pokémon will either go straight for the kill or try to flee, so they prefer to use quick and straightforward moves.

12. Status Effects function typically normal in Aspen, though on a more severe level. Being burned may leave you with third-degree burns, while being poisoned may cause physical sickness and result in death, paralysis may cause total body paralysis, etc. Please be much more cautious when traversing Aspen, seeing how traditional Pokémon Centers do not exist and you cannot magically heal your Pokémon at every turn.

13. Berries function mostly the same in Aspen. Some berries may cure Status Effects, some may heal you, some may do nothing, and some may poison you upon consumption. You may create new types of berries (So long as they are balanced), flavors, and food for Aspen.

14. Since P.W.W. is a realistic Roleplay, please keep in mind that the main cast will most likely have to kill, cook, and consume wild Pokémon if they want to survive. Please note that certain Pokémon species are not edible (Like Ghost-Types, since they are dead and have no physical form), and some species may be dangerous to consume. Some Pokémon Types may also taste different when cooked (For example, Fire-Type Pokémon may taste spicy), while other Pokémon may taste rotten. Please note that Pokémon eggs are edible, and certain Pokémon species are domesticated and raised to be livestock in Aspen. Some Plant-Type Pokémon also have edible leaves that are trimmable, while some Water-Type Pokémon may produce fresh drinkable spring water.

15. Please note that not all Pokémon are admirable and treated with the utmost respect in Aspen. Most kingdoms ban Ghost-Type Pokémon due to their terrifying and malevolent natures. (Ghost Pokémon are people or Pokémon who died and were never able to pass on to the great beyond). Many people often shun Dark-Type Pokémon and believe them to be demons from the underworld, though some watchmen may use Dark-Types to repel Ghost-Types, who like to come out during the nighttime and terrorize towns or attack lone stragglers. Please note that not all Ghost Pokémon are bad, but I would not recommend casually traveling around with one in the overworld. Otherwise, your characters may end up detained and put on trial while a Dark-Type devours their spooky companion. (Dark-Type Pokémon love to eat Ghost-Types in this world). Knights love to challenge and hunt Dragon-Type Pokémon and vanquish them for recognition, though many Dragon-Types are also associated with being the devil and ravaging towns.

16. Pokémon evolutions are not as elegant and beautiful as people make them out to be. When a Pokemon begins the evolutionary process, its form will enter a rapid state of acceleration known as the Butterfly Transformation. Wings could rip out of the Pokemon's skin, and they may lose or grow new limbs, their skin may peel off, their bones will stretch out and re-restructure themselves, etc. The Pokémon will be completing a full evolutionary cycle within mere minutes, and their form will undergo many grueling physical changes. During the evolutionary process, Pokémon will also excrete blazing heat from their bodies and produce mass amounts of concentrated energy, which is the cause of the blinding white light that surrounds them when they evolve. Please note that the evolutionary process is extremely dangerous, so I would not recommend having one of your characters try to interact with a Pokémon who is currently evolving. (It could leave your character disfigured or mangled).

17. Aspen's evolutionary requirements are traditionally the same as regular Pokémon. Your Pokémon will typically evolve when they either have a high enough bond with their trainer or are undergoing stressful situations that might pressure them into evolving. However, some other evolutionary requirements for Pokémon include: Being trained during the nighttime/daytime, being fed a certain item/exposed to a certain item, being a certain gender, visiting certain locations, etc. Mega Evolutions exist in Aspen, but your character will need a Taming-Stone and a specific Mega-Stone to evolve their Pokémon. Z-Moves and Dynamaxing are not allowed in this world. (Please note that Mega Evolutions are a temporary evolution similar to the main games).

18. P.W.W. focuses on realism, so some moves and abilities may need to be reworked or removed from the Roleplay. There is no traditional four-move cap for Pokémon in this universe, though keep in mind that teaching your Pokémon a large number of moves may still be hard for them to remember. Most wild Pokémon will use basic moves like Slash, Bite, Peck, and Scratch to harm their opponents. However, more aggressive Pokémon may use stronger elemental moves. You will be allowed to create new abilities and moves for your Pokémon, but try to keep them somewhat realistic. Consider the Pokémon's stage, elemental typing, and how dangerous the move would be in real life. Teaching your Pokémon a move like an Earthquake or Hurricane would cause devastating amounts of damage to that area. (Though we will most likely be reworking these moves to solve that issue). Please note that a moderator will be looking over your Fakémon to confirm that their moves, abilities, typing, and lore are fit for P.W.W.

19. Aspen is an undiscovered region set in the medieval era, so most of the Pokémon found in Aspen will be Fakémon or breeding-related fusions. However, regular purebred Pokémon and their Aspen-related Regional Variants can also exist. (Though they are traditionally rarer). Please note that regular Pokémon may be perceived differently by the locals and experience changes to their lore. Aspen also has its own unique set of Regional Variants, so Pokémon such as Galarian Meowth or Alolan Vulpix do not exist in Aspen. Please do not make Pokémon who are living abominations. Your Pokémon should be able to survive and sustain itself effectively in the wild while not be thinking, "Kill me" all of the time. Please note that by participating in this Roleplay, any Pokémon that you create or submit may be subjectable to being used as random encounters in P.W.W. (Please also note that Ultra Beasts do not exist in Aspen).

20. Aspen is an undiscovered region set in the medieval era with a magical setting, so modern technology does not exist in this world. There are no computers, Pokédexes, Pokémon Banks, Poké-Balls, etc. Instead, the people of Aspen use magic and Pokémon to solve their problems. For example, some people may use Electric Magic/Electric Pokémon to power their homes, while others may use Fire Magic/Fire Pokémon to keep their homes warm, start fires, cook things, etc. Pokémon Centers and hospitals also exist in Aspen, though they go by different names and either use healing magic, specialized herbs, or traditional medieval medical practices to treat wounds.

21. Although there is only one race in the Aspen region (The human race), humans share some genetic traits with Pokémon (Imagine Kemonomimis) allowing humans to use magic and providing for a lot of genetic diversity. (There are more Poké-Folk in Aspen than regular humans).

22. I cannot stress the importance of using realism enough. Please think rationally and logically when creating things for the P.W.W. universe, and please have your characters perform IC actions with caution and care. Although I will not kill off anyone's characters without the player's permission, if your characters are constantly doing stupid things or mistreating their Pokémon, your characters and their Pokémon will suffer for their actions. (Eventually leading to your character's and their Pokémon's ultimate demise if their rash actions do not change).
