So I've made two threads for this idea, and it's either not receiving attention, or it's not a great idea. Either way, input would be awesome! Introduction:
You wake up in an abandoned hospital, no idea who you are or where you came from. Hell, you can't even remember your own name. The hospital you wake up in looks like it's been abandoned for years. You look out the grimy window. Day is rising, and there are pitch black shadows moving along the ground. Some of them are small, but some are big enough to swallow a car.
Fast forward a year. You have learned these shadows eat people, animals, and anything that moves and breathes. The world is in ruin since the Shadow Apocalypse--that's what it is most commonly referred to by survivors. The shadow things seem to follow you wherever you go, but only at night. When daylight begins to streak over the horizon, the shadows retreat back to the place you woke up in. For some reason, they never come after you, and you intend to discover why.
And some enemies. . . .

- Shadows. These mysterious things will eat anything that happens to fall into its shade. You can a normal shadow from a Shadow easily. A Shadow is pitch black and moves and seems to be throbbing with some sort of dark life.
- Renegades, Bandits & the Like. These humans are always trouble, and typically have guns, so it's best to avoid them. Some groups are ex-military, and are the most dangerous.
- Cannibals. They can be anyone. That little old woman? Might be a cannibal. In times like these, it's not as uncommon as you would think. Beware houses, as they may be traps for unsuspecting. There have been reports of "human farms" where people are kept like cattle.
- Wild Animals. Seeing as though you'll mostly be in rural areas, poisonous snakes are a common danger. Actually, and wild animal can be dangerous. Use caution, not every dog with a collar is friendly.
