    kastia.png

Kastia is the richest and eldest country. It's currently a true neutral territory, being the home of the first and largest Catholic church and its headquarters. Most countries have to answer to the church, including Kastia itself, and it's royals are often reminded of this. It's known for it well-off people and beautiful architecture, and gets most of it's trade through Wusniestein.
    Colors: Gold, White, Purple
    Animal: Griffon

    eflon.png

Eflon is one of the oldest countries still surviving today. Like most countries, it was formed by settlers, and only grew from there. It was made a kingdom only three years after Kastia. It has a long history of being cursed with mad kings and queens, and also gifted with fierce battle tactics that are passed down. They were once allies of Freland, but many years ago that ended when a hostage was taken and killed over a disagreement. Although, the truth of the story depends on who you ask. Currently Eflon is battling Astrya and Setlain over their land, wishing to expand it's borders further. Eflon has little interest in allies due to it's abundance of resources and people. Their culture is different from most kingdoms from many of their customs, to their choices in clothing, their architecture, as well as their music. They only cooperate with the catholic power and take on a few of the laws as their own. They are the most similar with their neighbors in how the court system works, yet retain most of their own culture along with it.
    Colors: Red, Silver, Gold
    Animal: Wyvern

    freland.png

Freland is also one of the elder countries yet they like to consider themselves entirely different from their Eflonian counterparts. However, they aren't quite different at their core. Frelanders are adequately gifted at war, but they are best at persuasion and politics. They are a very a rich country and have acquired peace treaties with other countries including Astrya through trades and vague promises. Freland was once a small settlement, and wasn't made a Country until ten years after Kastia. It's not well known that there are many magic users lurking among Freland's people, even reaching into the court. Freland is home to the second biggest catholic church, and the kings there have the power to grant royal marriages and treaties through the priest as long as the other kings and queens involved agree.
    Colors: White, Red, Gold
    Animal: Double Headed Eagle

    setlain.png

A small country made up of mostly farmers, hunters, and fishermen. The majority of the population are day-to-day hard workers, but there are also politicians, military, and religious hermit villages that live in seclusion. This isn't to say it has nothing to offer. To those willing to see it, Setlain is a very beautiful country with rolling hills, beaches, and deep forests. Setlain was formed by rebellion on Eflon during a time of famine. When many residents and warriors grew tired of Eflon's refusal to work with other countries for help, they left. Along with a Lord who was granted the title of the first king when he proved himself worthy of ruling and willing to comply with the catholic religion. This was many years ago, and people from other countries immigrated here over time due to it's untouched lands. Yet, they still hold to some Eflonian traditions and culture. Especially the natives, including many of the royals. A well-balanced mix of Kasitian and Elfonian customs, the royals have been raised to be catholic and still follow some of their own traditions. Although they were always threatened by Eflon, it wasn't until recently that an assassination attempt was made on the Widow Queen and a war erupted.
    Colors: Silver, Green, White
    Animal: Unicorn

    summerage.png

Summerage is medium sized country fit between Freland and Eflon. It was once much smaller, but after the country of Elam was destroyed the land was split between Freland and Summerage as a sign of peace between the two countries. It's considered a neutral territory between the two much larger countries that border it due to it's known dedication to avoiding conflict, despite its favoritism towards Freland, and each of them would have to have permission to use it's lands for war. Summerage is newer than Freland, but older than Astrya. It was given it's name due to it's fertile soils and beautiful fields, and is the main source of wine trades.
    Colors: Gold, Purple, Blue
    Animal: Buck

    astrya.png

An island country with a good hand in the mining and fishing trades. It was made rich for it's many jewels and gold, although it is still a small country. Many of the people in Astrya are well cared for and are raised within a more lenient culture similar to Setlain natives. However, royals are still taught to be proper in order to fit in as they get older. It was formed after Setlain when settlers from Kastia found the island and were quickly made rich with what they found. People immigrated there from every country when they caught wind of it; however, the original settlers there took claim of the land, and named their most capable man to be king. This is history, though, as it has seen many rulers since, and has long been under the Catholic Church's power. In recent times, the war began when Eflon attacked Setlain, an allied country, and tried to kill the King's oldest personal ally.
    Colors: Blue, Gold, Gray
    Animal: Leviathan

    fairhaven.png

Fairhaven's climate is mostly cold and unyielding throughout the year, and as such many people who live there would struggle to survive if it wasn't for its allies. It was formed around the same time as Astrya, also by settlers. People of the north are generally poorer than the other countries, but they are still well cared for considering the climate conditions. They get most of their money trading ice, iron, and steel from the mountains. They are also known for being somewhat barbaric in in culture and battle compared to most countries.
    Colors: Gray, Green, Blue
    Animal: Bear

    wustein.png

Due to it being nestled so close to Kastia, it hasn't seen many battles, and is the newest of all the countries. It was formed when fugitives of war found themselves being pushed out of Kastia by it's people, and was founded by the ambitious bastard of Kastia's king at the time. The church made it official after they agreed to build a church within their castle. Although it is the smallest country, it has the largest port for trading between Kastia and other countries, and it home to many types of people. It's well known for it's distaste for the Catholic church, and also called by simply "Wustein" since many people have a hard time pronouncing the name.
    Colors: Silver, Brown, Red
    Animal: Badger

The two worked together to create a treaty through trade that would be beneficial for both kingdoms and bound by marriage, and they succeeded. Although they tried, they weren't able to bear any children until a few years later. They showed much favoritism to their crowned prince even though they had two other children, a girl and another boy. They were never known to be the most ambitious rulers since they are quite comfortable with the country's wealth, and was in good standing with its people. In recent times they have had Eflon biting at their throats ever since the king came to Setlain's aid in fighting them off.

It was easy for them to bare a child, and there was little to no complications with the pregnancy. However, shortly after their only child was born, Ballard punctured himself on a rusted nail and died of infection. Elaina has been in mourning ever since, and is rarely seen in dresses of bright color anymore. Ever since then their daughter was formally named Queen of Setlain due to carrying the royal family blood, but Elaina has taken charge of Setlain all these years. At thirty-five years of age, she is well versed in how a kingdom works, and she will remain controlling it until her daughter is married and crowned.

At the age of forty five, Abraham was wounded while hunting for sport, injuring his head. He's been bed ridden in a nearly vegetative state with only one healer there to care for his health. It's been three years since the incident, and Arvid has since taken control on Fairhaven in his place.

    Name: Gallen and Agatha Gladstone
Title: King and Queen of Summerage
    Description:

Gallen was the duke of Kastia, and is King Henry's younger brother. It took Gallen longer to fall in love with Agatha, but they were eventually married and had only one child. The two are currently in their forties, yet still still trying for another child. Agatha is a strong advocate for peace, and holds most of the power in Summerage. It would take a lot to tempt her in to war, but they are well educated in strategies.

Yet, is far too rambunctious for his old bones to handle often. Henry also once had a mistress and had a son with her, but she was executed for dealing with magic and being caught by a priest.

    0276584173ab068b6e76e672db4d91ae.jpg
    Name: Richard Disraeli
    Title: King of Wusniestein
    Description:

Although he is a lenient ruler, he can still be quite ruthless if things are taken too far. He is respected by his people for his refusal to follow the Catholic church and following his own rule. However, this has put a bit of a number on his head. Although his father was much worse than Richard, he was also alcoholic who died from liver failure when Richard was nineteen. His grandfather was the founder of Wustein and ruled until the day he died from disease. Currently, Richard takes charge of the major trading port for various goods, even allowing pirates to stop in from time to time. Morally flexible and anything but proper, most of the other rulers think of him as grossly impolite and disrespectful.

    ae7e7f8b092567af15499b94e9f6b39d.jpg
    Name: Lucius and Dennera Vasilakis
Title: King and Queen of Eflon
    Description:
Lucius was raised his entire life around brutal traditions and mad parents, but he was never left wanting for anything he needed. Dennera, on the other hand, had a much harder life and only became queen because of madness. Their differences never ceased after marriage, only becoming greater. Lucius was quickly stricken by the same curse that haunts his family after he first put on the crown of Eflon, but Dennera hasn't been affected by it so far. Although they act as if they are close around other people, they hardly love each other. Aside from a few nights of passion, Lucius thinks of her as a toy he can toss about, and sometimes an obstacle in his way. While Dennera only seeks to take full control of Eflon one day and rid herself of him. They have a strange dynamic about them. Although they are usually at each other's throats, If someone else tries to jump in and scheme against one or the other they are quick to shut the problem down.

The second prince of Eflon, Lucius, had little chances of becoming king until the crown prince passed away just before his coming of age. Many people believe Lucius had something to do with it, but it could never be proven. At the age of twenty-two he was named the new Crown Prince. It wasn't until his father died from his illness that he was allowed to look for suitors; however, the old queen was a bit deranged and had a well-known hatred for Lucious. She forced him to marry a woman, Dennera, who is much younger than himself and was also a servant at the time. The only explanations she gave for her choice were that he deserved a wife who comes from filth, and also that she thought Dennera would bare beautiful grandchildren for her. Despite Lucious's distaste with her choice of bride, because he knew the complications that came with not marrying another royal, he was more than happy to take Dennera as his wife if it meant becoming king.

    a3b12e95dcbb249307d1a753921d2c8a.jpg
A descendant of the first royals of Kastia, and also the daughter of the previous Earl of Elam, her birth was recorded like all Kastia nobles are. However, many people have forgotten about her existence after the war on Elam, assuming she was slaughtered like the rest of Elam's nobles. As an alternative, her mother faked her death and took her child to flee the country when the war erupted. This because a seer told her how it would end, and she thought Astrya would be the safest place due to retaining connections there. Dennera was only five at the time and wasn't but a few months older by the time they made it to Eflon's borders. Her mother had spent most of their gold disguising the two of them to look like the wealthy folk of Summerage and had little to spare on a safe route through Eflon. They were taken by the kings guard when they were caught trying to cross the country unlawfully and were sentenced to a life of slavery because they couldn't explain themselves. Eflon's royals at the time weren't aware of where Dennera's family came from. They only knew that they were wealthy, or at least once was and could come in handy should anyone come seeking them. As a result, they assigned them as personal servants to the queen. Because Dennera was so young at the time, the queen often doted on her when she was in a state of clarity. She wasn't made to do as much work until she was older, yet she grew up learning every skill she required as a personal servant and swiftly became the Queen's favorite. However, growing up as a slave servant in Eflon isn't easy. She was harassed, beaten, and starved over the years.

Dennera's mother also tried her best to educate Dennera at night or when the royals were away, going as far as to steal supplies and break in to the library at times. When she was old enough to understand, her mother explained everything to her about her heritage in whispers, and often spoke ill of Eflon and Freland. Yet, her mother was no longer alive when Dennera turned thirteen. Her hand was severed when she was seized stealing from the queen, and she died from blood loss due to the king forbidding the physician from aiding her. Dennera and the other servants were forced to watch as a warning, and Dennera has had a ingrained hatred for Eflon's previous rulers ever since. She was surprised, and sickened, when she was forcibly married to Lucius at the age of fifteen, but saw it as the biggest chance she would have to survive. However, the mad queen of Eflon wasn't keen on Dennera wearing a crown and had the official crown smelted down and destroyed. She quickly learned why they said Eflon's royals are cursed instead of the insanity being hereditary, as Lucius started to radically change from his indifferent and stoic demeanor only days after he was officially crowned king. He started to become unpredictable, temperamental, and quite open to Dennera about his genuine feelings towards her. Outside of a few sleepless nights, the two are rarely intimate and also don't share bed chambers. They only pretend to be close romantically when they are around other people of political importance, and Lucius's madness often separates them further. Within the first two years of them being married, Lucius became obsessed with the thought of expanding the country over the entire continent. Dennera, knowing it is an impossible feat, tried to keep him sane long enough to get some sort of foothold on the decision. However, Lucius only listened to her misdirection long enough for him to plan a course of action. It's been three years since they were married, and he finally made the first move with addressing an assassin to harm the Widow Queen. Simultaneously, Dennera dedicated those three years to education and gaining the favor of some immensely influential people, both well known and those who lurk within the underbelly of Eflon. She is also concealing the fact that she is in the early stages of pregnancy, even from the king.

Only two people alive are currently aware of Dennera's actual lineage. Elaina Scarboro and the official scholar of Kastia. Elaina Scarboro only just recently discovered this when she began investigating the current king and queen of Eflon after the assassination attempt. Since she was once the princess of Kastia, she has access to certain records that most people aren't allowed to see.
