"Come on Kier, get up!" The clock had just struck 7 AM when Finn called to his sleeping roommate. Finn was already up and dressed. Excitement had woken him up at 6 AM. He would have awoken Kieran then, but his moody roommate had a rule against being out of bed before the sun was up. Finn considered 7 AM a relatively safe time that would spare him his roommates wrath. "It's the first day of OOOmega meetings. We have to set up the room, make sure the agenda is complete..." Kieran groaned in response, his sleeping form curling into a tighter ball underneath the sheets.

The pair had met just last year. After Finn had started Omicron Omicron Omega (affectionately dubbed "Odd Ones Out"), Kieran had been one of the first ones to join. Of course he loved all of his other "brothers", but he and Kieran had had an immediate bond. Something about their opposite personalities pulled them together. Now Finn couldn't imagine his life without Kieran in it. They had spent most of the summer together, dividing the time between planning for OOOmega (as president and vice president) and just hanging out. They were also rooming together this semester.

"Kieran let's go!" Finn shouted, nudging his friend in the side before beginning to rummage in his closet. Finn pulled out an outfit he'd seen Kieran wear plenty of times and laid it on the desk. "If you don't hurry you'll be late for-" Finn stopped as Kieran jolted out of bed. Kieran slept a lot, and definitely stayed up later than he should, but at the end of the day he was a perfectionist. Failure was not an option. Finn rolled his eyes as his friend quickly donned his new outfit and rushed out the door. Finn stuck his head out after him. "See you at 4:30 for meeting?"

"Of course!" Kieran called back after him, running down the hallway.

~

Finn spent the day preparing for the first meeting. He was excited, but also kind of nervous. Excited, because he'd finally be seeing his friends again. He'd spent a lot of the summer with Kieran, so he hadn't been able to miss him, but it was everyone else. He'd missed Rebekah and her unique look on the world, he'd missed Xavier and his alternative style, and he'd even missed Alex (though he wasn't sure she liked him much). But, Finn was also nervous. They'd done some recruiting over the past two weeks before clubs actually began meeting and there were some new recruits interested.

OOOmega was for everyone, and he hoped they would make it their home just as the others had made it theirs. Finn glanced at the clock. 4:25. People would be arriving any minute now. With an anxious grin, he pulled up the agenda on the projector. Here goes nothing.

Alex had had a very... lonely wasn't the proper term for it. It was more then that. She felt like she had been trapped in solitude as if a curse had been laid upon her (though curses were illogical. Of course that wasn't the answer). She had missed Omicron Omicron Omega more then she could have imagined and though it was logical to think that she could have called them and suggested they hang out, without the group and the fun personalities she very much felt like an invitation to spend time with her would be rejected. Understandably so, she wasn't as odd as Rebekah or as friendly as Finn. All she had was her intelligence which seemed to cause more harm then good in such things.

It was logical to presume that there would also be new faces to the Odd Ones Out... if not freshman then perhaps those who hadn't previously heard of the group, or one that hadn't been seeking a club last year and was this year. Some second years might... Considering as a freshman sometimes it was smarter to stay away from extracurricular activities and buckle into studies. Then again, how often were Freshman that logical? She didn't know many other freshman besides herself that had spent the first year perfecting homework schedules and learning just how much free time she had to spend on things she enjoyed depending on the types of homework she was given. Everything could be made into an equation, it just took the right way of thinking about it.

The unfamiliar curve of a smile upon her lips, Alex headed towards the room with an odd name yet easily remembered number since it was 11 Squared, one of those terribly loved numbers of Alex's. 49 was another well loved number, as was 4. Pausing outside the door to check her watch, she wondered if it seemed desperate to arrive early. She had read somewhere that being early equated to people believing you to care too much. Alex hadn't known it was possible to care too much but far be it from her to be too early. She stood and watched as the minutes ticked by before sighing.... this was terribly dull and she could be amusing herself with at least trivial discussion with Finn instead of outside listening to her watch tick away the seconds. Stepping into the room she greeted Phineas with a nod and set the package of store bought cookies (Alex can't cook... though she follows instructions perfectly tot he T it often misses that ever important ingredient of love and just never tastes right), an assortment of chocolate chip, snickerdoodles, and peanut butter chip, before gazing directly into Finn's eyes.

"Were you able to remember all that you have learned from last year even though we have had a summer off and therefore have had nearly 3 months to forget all that we have learned?" She inquired in an attempt to be polite and ask about Finn's summer.

Terri - Dudley Hall Room 121
tumblr_mt1m9dYf0k1r0v8p9o2_1280.jpg

"I am going to make a good impression." Terri said as she stirred the melting marshmallows as quickly as she could; making sure the sticky substance didn't burn. Her fingers tapped on the handle of the pot as she stirred before she grabbed up the rice crispies and began to stir the bland cereal into the pot. Even if the reason she was joining this group was because she wanted to be better friends with Lilian. Even if she didn't feel like she quite belonged with this group because she wasn't an odd one out. She didn't want prospective good friends for Lilian to hate her because she didn't think to bring a gift. "I'm going to be late though. So, so late now." She added with a huff to herself. Talking to herself was a habit she had picked up during the times of being locked away in her room without the sound of another voice in the room. She had just started holding a conversation one day and had never looked back... it wasn't so bad, sometimes the only intelligent conversation she could have was the one she had with herself.

Spilling the now mixed together concoction into the pan she began flattening it with her hands until it was nicely flat and fairly well shaped, looking like a giant rice crispy cake. "Pretty much what it is." She said with a proud nod. She put a lid on it, grabbed up the proper utensils, and stacked it into a box before leaving her dorm room. A girl stopped her to ask questions, and then another boy inquired about classes... and yet another nosey boy asked her where she was taking the box of interesting goods. She of course snubbed that boy and when he followed after her threatened to force him to be in charge of the decorations for theater (even though she had no power over that whatsoever). He left her alone quickly after that and Terri was left alone, drumming her fingers along the edges of the box while she walked. She passed a clock and felt shock course through her to see that it was already 4:45. "I'm late. I'm late... for a very important date." She said, attempting to cheer herself up by being a bit silly. Hopefully Lilian would forgive her... she did make her rice crispies after all.

She only hesitated outside the room for a moment before walking in, head held hi and smile in place, to place her box of goodies on a table before surveying the room in search of Lilian and any other familiar faces.

Minjae

BTS-Jin.jpg

Checking the clock, Minjae makes sure everything is in order in his room for the 5th-no...6th time. Anyone who doesn't know him well, which, admittedly, is a LOT of people, would believe he has OCD. Everything in his room has its proper place, and his room is always kept immaculate. However, Minjae doesn't have OCD, tidying up is just a nervous habit of his, and he is often nervous. If he were to look at this nervous habit objectively using his psychology education, he would point out that keeping everything immaculate is one way to fill his desire to be in control. And today Minjae is feeling particularly out of control.

University is great and Minjae is doing exceptionally well, but one of his goals of this trip to America is to branch out and gain some new friends. So far, he hasn't made hardly any new friends, even his roommate is hardly around. For some reason, being a shy, chronically anxious, and too-intelligent-for-his-own-good Asian boy isn't the best way to attract a bunch of friends. As a result, Minjae is skipping the frying pan and jumping straight into the fire. He is about to join a club.

Admittedly, there aren't many clubs who cater to people like Minjae. As mentioned before, a foreign Asian boy who quite literally fits the bill for 'geeky loser' isn't someone anyone wants in their club. But by chance he found one that just might work: Omicron Omicron Omega. As far as Minjae can tell, it's a club designed for people who don't fit in at other clubs, and he believes he fits that prerequisite fairly well. Unfortunately, there's still a few obstacles in his way, namely 'anxiety' and 'shyness'.

This brings us to the present, where Minjae's desire to be on time is currently battling his anxiety. This results in him cleaning his room multiple times while obsessively checking the time. And he wonders why he doesn't have many friends. As the clock hits 4:25 Minjae suddenly stops cleaning. It's now or never. Grabbing his bag, he dashes out the door.

He sprints across campus, making it to the meeting room just on time. He stops outside of the door, panting, a mental pep talk churning through his mind. After a moments hesitation her enters. He sees three people, two guys and one girl. All three of them clearly know each other and the thought of sitting down which would cause them to stare awkwardly at him, the intruder, makes his stomach turn.
Maybe it would be better to leave now before this gets too embarrassing... Minjae thinks to himself. But he decides against it since this is his one shot of finding a few people to get close to at this damned university.

Uneasily, he gives a nervous wave and clears his throat.
"Um...hi, I'm Minjae. Nice to meet you. What are your names?" He says, hoping his voice doesn't sound *too* accented. He has been working on eliminating his accent for years but it seems that as soon as he utters his first word people peg him as foreign. It's one of the most frustrating things about America, nothing is ever good enough to please the people here. As he ponders how best to apologize for being from a different country, another girl with colorful hair enters. Overwhelmed with the amount of unfamiliar faces, he waits for a direct response of any sort before initiating contact again. Look at you, making progress... He thinks to himself, a faint smile forming These are real baby steps towards making friends and opening up. Be proud.

Kieran strolled into Dudley Hall room 121 at 4:28, arms full of various supplies Finn had asked him to pick up. There were various drinks and cups, plates, napkins, even a cake Finn had ordered to read "Welcome Back OO?". All things Finn could have easily picked up as he didn't have classes on Fridays, but Kieran didn't let it get to him. Finn was likely stressing out about making sure the agenda was set and making sure they had the same room as last year booked. "Sorry I'm late." Kieran addressed the room, placing the supplies on the table in the center. Technically he wasn't late, and there were some members who still hadn't shown up, but being on time was close enough to being late. He had an excuse though. He had his theory class at 9:00, followed by a two hour lesson at 10:00, rehearsals with people he was accompanying at 12:00 and 12:30, then he practiced until 3:00, at which point Finn texted him in a panic and asked him to go on a grocery run. He probably would have been even more late if he wasn't so naturally efficient.

"Hey Alex." Kieran clapped a hand on her shoulder casually before approaching Finn. Alex was a little odd, but she added color to the club. Besides, her skills in logic were helpful when calculating costs of trips and what not. Neither he nor Finn were great at mathematics. Speaking of costs... "Hey Finn, I called the shirt company earlier today and they said that if we order by next Monday, then our letters should be available before the second football game." Finn was technically the president of OOOmega, but it was Kieran who ran all of the logistics. Not that Finn wasn't capable, it was just that... Well... Finn was forgetful. If not for Kieran, OOOmega's paperwork to register as an official university organization would be left in the bottom of his backpack.

"Were you able to remember all that you have learned from last year even though we have had a summer off and therefore have had nearly 3 months to forget all that we have learned?"

Kieran grinned. Moody as he was and as much as he tried to deny it, he had missed this odd little group.

"I don't think anyone would remember everything... Much less me." Finn blushed as he answered, and Kieran fought a chuckle.

People were slowly beginning to trickle into the room. Faces, both old and new, caught Kieran's eye as they entered the room. One particular pretty face caught- and held- his attention. Soft brown hair and such naive brown eyes... Kieran was a sucker for pretty faces. Then the boy spoke. "Um...hi, I'm Minjae. Nice to meet you. What are your names?" That accent. Kieran had opened his mouth to speak, but Finn had beat him to it.

"Hi. My name? Umm... Finn. Well actually it's Phineas, Phineas Downard, but everyone generally calls me Finn. I'm the president of OOOmega and-"

"- And I'm Kieran." Kieran stepped in to aid his friend, who was scratching the back of his neck nervously and descending into a babbling mess. It seemed he wasn't the only one who found the newly interested member attractive, but he was definitely more Finn's type. "Kieran Lucian Maddox, the vice president. Nice to meet you. And I apologize in advance for Finn here." Kieran ruffled his best friend's hair affectionately. "He gets flustered easily."

Kieran sighed and left the pair to get a soda from the snack table. Sipping absentmindedly on his Sprite he observed the room. The first meeting was never a true meeting, usually just catching up. For the last thirty minutes they'd briefly go over the year they have planned, but for now everyone was just relaxing and having a great time. Kieran relaxed and just let himself enjoy the atmosphere. The pleasant buzz of people chatting, the smell of various perfumes and colognes mingling in the air. Kieran shut his eyes and his fingers danced across the tabletop, his mind assigning music to the scene around him.

Then the door opened.

Who would really be twenty minutes late? He opened his eyes and they met a face he had never seen before. He'd bet anything that she was somehow involved with Lilian. Similar style, similar disregard for order. He frowned. He didn't hate Lilian by any stretch. In fact, he kind of liked the girl. Not that he'd ever admit it to her face. Their relationship was mutually antagonistic, but he liked that. Kieran watched as the girl set the tray of treats on the table in front of him and raised an eyebrow. Rice krispie treats were his weakness. "So..." Kieran drawled, eyes intent on the rice krispie treats. He thought about how they would taste, how the marshmallow would stick to his teeth. The sound as the knife would cut through them-

He cleared his throat before raising his eyes to the girl in front of him. "You're a friend of Lilian's?"

Xavier whistled as he strolled down the halls, in good spirits from yesterday's fantastic run at the card den. He'd ended the night making a huge profit and his wallet now felt thick with the wads of notes sticking out of it. He was careful to keep it tucked deep into his pocket, out of sight as the crowds in the hallways parted for him to pass, murmuring and staring, averting their gaze quickly the second they thought he had caught them looking. He honestly didn't care if the other students saw his wallet and thought he'd mobbed another student but the last thing he needed was for some meddlesome student to report him to the teachers and make a huge fuss. Sure when he crossed the hallways there was usually a nasty scowl on his face and his bike, tattoos and occasional bouts of smoking did nothing to help his image but he certainly didn't stoop so low as to fill his wallet by taking from another through force. In a battle of wits and luck that the teacher's couldn't understand or appreciate, yes but bullying another student out of his money would put him in the same league as those jocks and nothing would make his skin crawl more. He shuddered slightly at the thought as he made another turn heading for Dudly Hall Room 121 where the meeting for OOOmega was to take place. Personally he couldn't care much for his social life or school groups but due to extenuating circumstances he'd rather not recall, he hadn't much of a choice in remaining uninvolved as he had all the other years of his life. The one good thing about this college was the existence of this group. At least it meant he didn't have to deal with people he couldn't stand on a daily basis like jocks and typical popular kids and the other students in OOOmega weren't half bad. Not there but certainly much better than the others.

Kicking open the door with a yawn, he strolled in lazily, kicking the door shut behind him as he headed straight for his favourite corner. "Morning." He greeted simply as he ran a quick glance over the people present. As always there were familiar and unfamiliar faces in the crowded which further broke down into faces he could name and faces he couldn't. "If there's anything important or worth note just let me know." Xavier announced as he sat down and took out his headgear to listen to some dj music as was his ritual when he had nothing to do.

Minjae

5790105_orig.jpg

Minjae surveys his surroundings in a manner not unlike a rabbit backed into a corner by wolves. Okay, that may be a bit of an exaggeration. Instead of wolves, the Minjae-rabbit is cornered by friendly, well-meaning dogs. However, the rabbit can't be sure they are well-meaning, and honestly neither can Minjae. That's not the whole truth either. Minjae knows everyone in the group means him no harm, but that doesn't stop his pulse from racing.

Honestly, his terror is understandable. A naturally shy and anxious foreign boy in a room full of people who are all speaking English is not the recipe for rainbows and smiles. Don't get me wrong, Minjae is excellent at English, but it's not his native tongue. No matter how much he studies the words still feel clumsy on his tongue. He calms himself down by breathing deeply but softly, a skill he's perfected over years of being anxious. The trick works, and if Minjae focuses on blending in with the crowd he's almost comfortable.

Just as he's beginning to enjoy turning all the English conversations around him into white noise, soothing background music for his thoughts, one voice become directed at him. "Hi. My name? Um... Finn. Well, actually it's Phineas, Phineas Downard, but everyone generally calls me Finn. I'm the president of OOOmega and-" Just as Minjae begins to get used to connecting the name to the face, another voice cuts him-Finn- off. "-And I'm Kieran. Kieran Lucian Maddox, the vice president. Nice to meet you. And I apologize in advance for Finn here. He gets flustered easily." Minjae begins working on connecting the names to the faces to the voices. The two guys look fairly similar to him, but he trusted he would be able to tell them apart. He already knew he would have o work on his pronunciation of Finn. 'F', what a bitch of a letter. So unnecessary, in Minjae's opinion. After all, it doesn't exist in the Korean language and he's gotten along fine without it. Kieran was much more manageable, except for the 'r'. But he would learn.

For every person he meets, Minaje tries to come up with the Hangul for their name. It helps him remember and pronounce better. For Kieran it was somewhat straightforward: ???. For Finn, well, he was going to have to substitute a 'p' for the 'f'. ?. Oh well, it happens.

"Finn," He starts, pronouncing the name slowly and carefully while making eye contact to try and ensure accuracy "I deeply apologize if I say your name wrong, I will get used to it. Kieran, it is nice to meet you as well," He says, giving a small head bow to each person and making eye contact as he addresses them. "Don't apologize for Finn, I get flustered easily too." He smiles warmly. "It is a great honor to meet the president and vice president. I hope we will grow close as the year goes on." His nervousness fades away, these two boys are very kind, and cute. Wow, you met two boys and didn't faint, I'm happy for you, He thinks to himself, almost laughing audibly.

Alex - Dudley Hall Room 121
tumblr_mvutxsepcn1t0zo4mo6_500-jpg-jpe.262168

A voice that was nicely familiar was a minor warning before the clap to Alex's shoulder which caught her terribly off guard and she had to fight the urge to flip around to find out who had touched her before her mind processed that Kieran had entered the room. She nodded as he walked by, intent on wording her question to Phineas so much that she didn't have the mindspace to reply to Kieran yet. She waited intently for Finn's answer as Kieran's words about the lettered shirts processed in the background of her mind, the logistics of the cost and gain of such things filing away as well as the usual pricing on such things and where the boys were probably getting them printed. Well, if they needed help with funding they always knew they could count on her... but Kieran was bright enough he could usually figure the most of it out. She was only really tasked with the jobs that hit bigger numbers... like the lovely trips that they would sometimes take. Alex was already excited about the possible trips they would take this year... the bright points of her year yet to be planned.

Alex nodded at Phineas' response, noting that his cheeks were beginning to redden and wondered if he was embarrassed because he had forgotten or because he was flustered by the oddity of the question. Before she could inquire after it, another presence entered the room and Alex was turning to see one of his intelligence rivals -Minjae. She remained quiet as the President and Vice President introduced themselves; it was more important for Minjae to know their names instead of her's. Once they had finished their discussion... more or less from what Alex could see, she moved to Minjae's side and offered a hand. "Minjae, hello. I don't know if you recognize me or not... most likely not, there are many faces that crowd these halls. My name is Alex, though; your intellectual prowess is noted, by the way. I hope we can also become good friends." She said with as much of a friendly smile as she usually had in place.. . meaning her mouth more or less curved up at the corners just a little; softening the often stern expression into something less harsh.

The door slamming open suddenly caused her to jump, before her expression caught Xavier. She gave a chilled nod in his direction, not that he would have noticed. Xavier did not make sense to Alex... she worked so hard to understand him yet he just... was practically incomprehensible. He was nigh impossible to categorize into any basic labeling system... and his bark and bite were both cold, but not entirely venomous. He was just... odd... and Alex never knew how to interact with him or why he was part of the group when he behaved like such a loner. Still, she would not be the one to turn her back on a fell Odd One... Her attention was pulled elsewhere when someone else entered terribly late, Alex fought not to give the person a harsh look. Tardiness was never something to be tolerated... not in Alex's opinion at any rate. She ended up turning her attention towards Finn, trying to think of something else to talk about that might fluster him less... or perhaps Minjae would be someone to talk to? He was at least her intellectual equal if nothing else... Perhaps he would have something interesting to say that would expand Alex's knowledge. But what to say?

Terri - Dudley Hall Room 121
tumblr_mt1m9dYf0k1r0v8p9o2_1280.jpg

Giving it her best shot to ignore the eyes that trailed her thanks to her tardiness, she set her stuff onto the table only making eye contact with the nearest guy... Terri was pretty sure his name started with a K. Kyler perhaps? Kayden? She wasn't entirely sure... but the K felt right... anyway, she only made eye contact with him after her treats were set properly on the table. Then again, when she looked up to meet his gaze she wasn't entirely surprised to find that his eyes were on the wondrous treats she had brought. Yes, I have done it right! Lilian will be so proud!

"So?" She inquired, brow arching as she took in the desire. She made sure her movements were exceptionally slow in pulling out both containers from the box and setting it up so that people could help themselves. She had a love of being a bit of tease... not a flirty tease, mind; the playfully mean kind that knew you wanted something and would be an obstacle in your way for as long as she could. So after she had gotten it set up she placed herself in front of the treats, leaning back against the table as she better faced the guy with the K name.

"How did you guess?" Terri asked, full of honest curiosity. She glanced down at herself... perhaps she dressed similarly? "Are you a psychic? Perhaps you've seen me with her? Or...Do I look like a Lilian groupie?" She asked brightly, giggling a bit at her own joke. "I'd like to say so but you should ask her, too. She may have a different answer. I'm Terri, by the way... and you're K-blank... I know your name starts with a K but I don't know or remember the rest. Right? It was a K, right?" Terri replied honestly before finally getting out of Kieran's way in case he wanted to help himself to the treats before the others got a chance to. She surveyed the rest of the room and recognized faces but not names. There was Finn, of course; she knew his name from him being President and all. There was the Asian guy who probably had last and first name backwards... because that was a thing they did apparently. She wondered why... maybe she could ask him without seeming like some dumb American. And then there was the person she could never figure out if they were a guy or a girl. They had pretty enough features to be a girl but they acted a bit... more like a smart, snobby guy. She just wasn't entirely sure... Oh, and then there was that guy in the corner that she hadn't heard pleasant things about. She wondered if he was secretly a big marshmallow on the inside... or perhaps he was truly as harsh as rumors said. Xavier. She knew his name, at least... 1 out of... 5? That's not so terribly bad...

Cain Haynes

Dudley Room 121

'Ante Up'

Sometimes there are things you want to do in this world, but for some reason they can't be done. This was one of those times for Cain. He stared blankly at the mirror in front of him, a deck of cards laid forgotten in front of him. For the last several hours he had been trying to get down a new shuffling technique. The videos he had seen made it look easy, and the step by step tutorials obviously would make the task simpler to complete. But he strongly hated following in someone else's footsteps. If it was going to mean something to Cain then he had to accomplish it himself. There were several things that caused him this much frustration, and most of them seemed to have something to do with his love for magic. A beep alerted Cain to the time, and he was a bit shocked at just how much time he had spent trying this new trick. The alarm already read 4:30 and Cain could only sigh. First day of club meetings and he was going to be late.

There was no changing the fact that he was going to be late. The only thing he could do was try to make good time on the way to the club room and not miss the meeting all together. Cain glanced around the room making sure he had everything he would need. It took only a matter of minutes to get ready to great the outside world. He didin't pause but for a second to lock the door behind him as he started running toward the meeting. People gave him rude glares and one guy even stopped him dead in his tracks. It was a big muscular guy, another Physical Therapy Major like himself. "Cain, don't go hurting yourself," The guy commented as he patted Cain on the back and steered the man in the right direction. Able was a class mate of Cain's and they had made an immediate connection do to their names. But he didn't have time to stop and talk and made a mad dash for the finish line.

Finally Cain arrived at Dudley Room 121. He was fashionably late, but hopefully no one would notice. He eased the door open and slid into the room looking around and hoping to find a corner somewhere that people could just discover him in. There was hope he could get a 'Oh Hey Cain, didn't see you there' instead of some kind of admonishment for being late. He noticed that most of the club had already gathered and hoped they weren't paying attention to him. Once he found his corner Cain slid his hand into his pocket to get some comfort from the deck of cards there, but froze immediately a look of horror on his face. In all that hurry to get here he had left his most valued possession behind, here he was without a single playing card on him. Cain was crestfallen but tried to hide his suddenly sour mood with a cheesy grin and a slouched posture.

Lilian Y. Brooks

The most painful thing about the first day of school wasn't getting up early, or even having to be on campus at least an hour before class because finding a parking spot took ages. No, the most painful thing was the over enthusiastic professors speaking too much about themselves and, in effort of "making everyone comfortable" starting those torturous ice breakers. "Okay, so going down the line, tell us your name your major and three interesting things about yourself!" Lilian was sitting close enough to the front of class to seem like a decent student, but far enough back to not come off as a teacher's pet or a try hard. Her face cringed at the exercise her Social Psychology professor had started. The sinking gut feeling in her stomach began to churn around. "Three interesting things? Fuck! I can't even come up with one." Lilian lowered herself in her seat wondering if it was too late to walk out of the class. The syllabus had been passed out already and by the looks of it there wouldn't be lecture just introductions. If she just stood up right now and walk away what was the worst thing that could happen?

"Excuse me? I apologize for not capturing your interest long enough sir." Lilian's head reeled back to the far end of the classroom. A guy she'd seen once or twice in other classes was half way through his escape. Well at least she wasn't the only one thinking about leaving, but now the professor had called him out. "What is your name sir?" The male chuckled and with a prideful voice responded, "Derek". Lilian imagined herself in the situation. Had she been the one called out, Lilian would have frozen. She admired how much courage the boy had. "Ah yes... Well thanks to our friend Derek here, there will be a quiz next class on the introductions, so everyone must pay attention." There was a collective groan from the students and the quick shuffling of paper as several people took out paper and pen to write down everyone's name and facts. Lilian was one of those, but by the time she got out her notebook, she had already missed two introductions plus the entire first row's in which she was wrecking her brain to find something interesting about her.

One by one students introduced themselves and Lilian scribbled what could pass as hieroglyphics in her notebook. "Rodger likes pie, has four dogs, and plays video games. Cindy can do a back flip, she does gymnastics, and is in band. Amber can burp the alphabet, she has a boyfriend, and is in a sorority." As she scribbled, she noticed a strange silence in the room and immediately looked up to find everyone in the room staring at her. It was her turn to introduce herself. "Crap." If she had come up with anything to say, it was gone. Her mind was completely blank. Shuffling out of her seat nervously Lilian put on a brave smile, "Uh... Ummm. Hi. My name is Lilian. Three interesting things about me. Let's see. One: For the first half of this I was trying to come up with what to say. Two: I also thought about leaving, but Derek beat me to it. Three: I still have no clue of what I'm supposed to say." There were a couple of chuckles in the room bring a slight reddish tone to her cheeks. She chuckled nervously unsure if they were laughing at her or with her. Her eyes found the professor begging him let her sit back down and put her out of the spotlight. With a simple smile and a thank you he motioned for Lilian to sit back down and for the next person to go.

She'd done it. It was over and she wouldn't have to ever put herself in the spot like that again. There was a sigh of relief as Lilian took her seat again and looked down at her phone. "OH YOU HAVE TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME!" It was only 9:20 A.M. there were still forty minutes left and she still had three more classes to go. This was going to be a long day.

---

"Don't forget to check your emails. I'll be sending the review for your first quiz tonight and the link to your homework." Lilian was just about done with this day. After the morning's introduction the rest of her classes had been quite boring and uneventful. Her afternoon class just went through the syllabus and then was dismissed, and her last class already had homework due that night and a quiz for the next class. Even though she'd been doing this for two years already, Lilian was definitely not used to the work load college professors put on the students. Each one required at least 3-4 hours of "home study time". That wasn't counting the time taken up by reading the text book and homeworks. It was insane, but education is important and college makes life easier. "Yeah freaking right." The only thing that kept Lilian going was the OOO meeting which she was heading to. It was their first meeting of the semester and she was incredibly enthused and anxious at seeing all her friends after a long summer apart.

Making her way from the school's food court, woman's gotta eat, to the meeting Lilian could already picture her reunion with her friends. In her mind she saw slow motion running hugs, yells, and a lot of jumping. Of course it would probably end up in awkward hellos and the painful "How was your summer?" question fest. She turned the corner of the hall with a slice of a pizza in her mouth. She could already hear the small chattering going on and her full mouth turned into a smile. Lilian quickened her pace and knocked on the door as she made her entrance. "Knock Knock. Hey guys! I apologize for my tardiness, but I come baring gifts!" Lilian rose up the almost full pizza box and placed it in the first desk she could find before she was attacked by hungry college students. Stepping out of the way, Lilian took a look around the room seeing some new faces and her favorite familiar faces. "Carebear! Glad to see we're still cool enough to be graced with your presence." Her eyes then fell Terri and a smile found it's way to her face again. "Terri! You're here! I'm so glad you could make it!"

"An honor?" Finn repeated Minjae with a blush. "I don't think I'd go that far. I mean..." Finn rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly and turned to Kieran to save him... Only to see his best friend walking towards the snack table. Figures. Finn recalled that Kieran had only shown up to the first meeting for food, and sometimes Finn wondered exactly where he, food, and music ranked on Kieran's list of priorities. He supposed that they shifted. "Well, I mean I am the president, but mostly because I founded it. Not really because I have any sort of power." Finn could feel himself blushing. "It's actually Kieran who runs most of the logistics... And Alex helps out sometimes. I was just the weird guy who didn't want to have to join some club I didn't fit into. I mean, just because I like anime doesn't mean I wanna spend two hours rambling about which season was better, or better yet, I like Pokemon but I don't wanna join a club that only focuses on competitive battling. Personally I-"

"Minjae, hello. I don't know if you recognize me or not... most likely not, there are many faces that crowd these halls. My name is Alex, though; your intellectual prowess is noted, by the way. I hope we can also become good friends."

Alex's introduction had interrupted Finn. But, perhaps that was for the best. He had the sense that he was beginning to ramble (as he tended to do when around attractive people) and it was likely that Minjae would be too polite to stop him. Finn shot a look at Kieran. He could have helped avoid the situation, but no. He had to go stand by the snack table and give slightly inappropriate looks to a tray of rice krispie treats. Finn noticed that another new face had entered the room, and he gave her a wave. Lilian had mentioned she would be inviting a friend, and Finn wondered if that was her. They had a similar air about them. Not that everyone's friends were similar to one another. Heck, he considered himself friends with everyone in OOOmega and there were many who were his opposite, Kieran included. But, scientifically speaking, people are drawn to those similar to themselves. Alex may have taught him that. Rebekah was kind of similar to him, he supposed. Finn briefly wondered where she was. Frankly, it was possible she was running late, or had just forgotten. Finn wasn't too worried. He was sure that he would talk to her later, if nothing else.

"Are you a psychic? Perhaps you've seen me with her? Or...Do I look like a Lilian groupie? I'd like to say so but you should ask her, too. She may have a different answer. I'm Terri, by the way... and you're K-blank... I know your name starts with a K but I don't know or remember the rest. Right? It was a K, right?"

Most of the girl's words registered in Kieran's brain, which was nothing short of a miracle after how focused he was on the rice krispie treats. Would it be considered rude to just take one and walk away? To cease bothering with the girl? Maybe he could just take the whole tray and go sit in a corner. Such a thing would get him smacked in his etiquette classes, but those were no more. Surely no one would notice if he took all of the gooey and crunchy goodness. He was the first one to know they were there. He didn't think anyone else had even noticed the snack table. Those bastards. He was almost late because he had to pick up all of these supplies.

"Carebear!"

The pet name yanked Kieran out of his somewhat scandalous marshmallow-related fantasies.

"Glad to see we're still cool enough to be graced with your presence."

Kieran scoffed. "Please. The only reason I'm still here is because Finn wouldn't be able to run a functional club without my help." That wasn't technically untrue. Finn had heart, but his organizational skills were nonexistent. Kieran had gotten him a calendar last Christmas, and he had misplaced it within the first week. In all fairness, it had been the most organized week of his life. But, despite that, Kieran truly enjoyed being a member of OOOmega. As strange as it was, he had friends here, and he had never truly had friends before.

Kieran wasn't sure what he was expecting that night last year.

He had been out late practicing as he had been every night. (His roommate was a real ass.) The stars shined overhead as he pulled on the door to the dining hall. Locked. He checked his watch. Was it 9:30 already? He could've sworn he was only going to practice an hour, but it was so easy to get carried away. Kieran sighed and his stomach growled, protesting the hours of the dining hall. The tall boy turned and began the long walk back to his dorm with a hastily drawn sign caught his eye. "Free Pizza! 8:00! Dudley Hall Room 121! Be There or Be SQUARE!" Kieran raised an eyebrow at the wording. Really, who said "be there or be square" anymore? Still, the promise of free pizza was alluring. And if it only started an hour and a half ago, maybe there was some left. So, Kieran made his way to Dudley Hall. Kieran took a moment to stand outside of the door at first. It was quiet, really quiet. Maybe it was over after all. Kieran sighed. He should really set an alarm next time so he could get to the dining hall before it closed. Just as he turned away, the door opened.

"
Hey!" A boy roughly his height with jet black hair emerged from the room carrying two boxes of pizza. Kieran's stomach rumbled. "Were you here to check out the meeting?"

"
Umm..." Kieran looked around awkwardly. "Well the dining hall was closed... And your sign said free pizza..."

"
Oh." The boy looked disheartened, but only for a moment before his cheerful demeanor returned. "Well, here!" The boy offered Kieran a box of the pizza. Kieran blinked as he took it and opened it. A full cheese pizza. Untouched.

"
Are you sure?" Kieran eyed the boy suspiciously. Who was this guy to offer him free food? This was college after all. Food was a precious commodity.

"
Yeah!" The boy with the electric blue eyes assured. "I ordered way too much. It's not a big deal." The boy turned and locked the door to the room he had just emerged from and turned to walk away- promptly leaving the key in the door.

"
Hey!" Kieran called, grabbing the key from the door. "Forgetting something?"

"
Oh!" The key was quickly grabbed from Kieran's hand, and the boy's cheeks flushed pink. "Thanks... I'm really forgetful sometimes." The boy shoved the key into his pocket with his right hand, the second pizza held in his left. "I'm Finn, by the way."

"
Kieran." Kieran eyed the boy strangely. Who was this stranger? Why did he care to introduce himself?

"
What dorm are you staying in? Let's walk back together."

Kieran opened his mouth to protest, but the boy- Finn- was already off. Kieran couldn't help but follow.

And the next week he was talked into attending the first official meeting of OOOmega, and he supposed the rest was history. Now Finn was his best friend, he was the vice president of this club, and he had friends to show for it. Kieran dropped an arm around Lilian's shoulder. He'd let the nickname slide. It was the first day, and he hadn't seen her in a while. Lilian was almost like the sister he never had. Or wanted, for that matter. "What a nice heartfelt baked good, Lil. I feel loved and cherished that you took the time to bake something so wonderful and with so much love. This person- ermm, Terri- did a nice job. You can learn from her." Kieran's eyes dropped to the rice krispies once more.

So delicious.

I mean, just because I like anime doesn't mean I wanna spend two hours rambling about which season was better, or better yet, I like Pokemon but I don't wanna join a club that only focuses on competitive battling. Personally I-" The boy, Finn, Minjae reminds himself, practicing the letter 'F' in his head, keeps talking. It is quite a lot of English, certainly too much for Minjae to understand every word. He smiles, nods, and tries to puzzle together as much of it as he can in his mind.

Suddenly, Finn is interrupted by another voice.
"Minjae, hello. I don't know if you recognize me or not... most likely not, there are many faces that crowd these halls. My name is Alex, though; your intellectual prowess is noted, by the way. I hope we can also become good friends." Minjae studies her face as she speaks. He recognizes her as a very intelligent and hardworking student that may or may not have been in one of his Psych classes. Regardless, she speaks slower than Finn, which Minjae greatly appreciates. Before he speaks, he takes a second to practice her name in his head. ??? would be the Korean equivalent.

"Hello Alex," He bows slightly. "I do recognize you, I know that you are very intelligent and hard working and I have much respect for you. I also hope we will become friends, as we have much in common I believe." He knows his English is a little clunky, but he hopes she will overlook it. He also hopes that someone who is culturally sensitive or even foreign like him will join this club. He craves for someone to understand how hard it is not only to be intelligent, but also to sound intelligent in a completely foreign and nearly incompatible language.

Stepping away from Alex, he heads towards the snack table, passing all kinds of people and letting the English wash around him without a single attempt to understand it. He peruses the snacks, looking for something that might intrigue him. Of course, there were none of his beloved Korean snack foods here, he would never expect that, but perhaps there would be something tasty. Absentmindedly, he listens to a conversation between Kieran and a girl he would likely never associate with on his own. Suddenly, he sees something that strikes his fancy.

He believes they are called 'Rice Krispie Treats' in America but in South Korea they are known as ??? or Korean rice crackers. He sees Kieran eying them almost lustfully but decides to grab one anyway. Minjae meets Kieran's eyes for a brief second, hoping he won't be too angry with him for taking one.

Alex was completely oblivious to having cut Finn off until the boy abruptly stopped talking when she started. She had thought he had been speaking to someone else, or just rambling to the room in general; not speaking to Minjae. Alex's remorse at having cut the leader off was distracted when Minjae responded. His ineloquent way of speaking was a show of how fluent he was in another language; something Alex understood from having a father who had originally been brought up speaking German and still had that accent. She, thanks to him, knew a bit of German though she didn't share the accent thanks to having grown up in an area where she was surrounded by people who spoke fluent English. At any rate, Minjae was understandable and his words brought a small smile to Alex's lips. It was always an honor to be recognized as intelligent by someone you found to be intelligent. She returned his bow, at the least, knowing that what had been said was all that needed saying. Now to apologize to Finn.

Light still flooding her chest at the hopes of having an actual friend that equaled her in intelligence, if didn't excel beyond her, she had a completely different bearing then usual. There was actually a spring to her step as she approached Finn, and her eyes were bright. "I came to apologize. I didn't mean to interrupt your discussion with Minjae; I didn't realize you were speaking to him." She said promptly. Her expression didn't look the least bit sorry, though; and truth be told whatever remorse she may have felt for cutting their leader off it was far outweighed by knowing her hard work in class had been noticed by a fellow top classman.

"Is there anything I can do to make it up for you? Also, might I suggest you speak slower and stick to a topic? Minjae is very intelligent but I must admit even I had trouble keeping up with you as you rambled. And I'm not sure how strong his grasp on English is." Alex's voice quieted quite a bit at the second part; not wanting Minjae to overhear or be offended. She didn't really mean to stereotype; merely she was trying to have Minjae's best interests in mind as well as help Finn make more friends. Finn was certainly the type that could never have enough friends.

Waiting for Kieran to respond and to stop molesting the rice krispies with his gaze quickly grew to be a point of impatience for Terri. He had spoke to her first and now he said nothing in response. Before she could challenge his silence, however, a familiar face entered the room and Terri absolutely lit up. It was even better when Lilian said that she was glad Terri could make it. Her mouth continued to spread into a wider smile; annoyance with the dark haired guy was completely forgotten. "YES! Somebody brought real food! I would have but... I mean I don't think I went wrong with krispies." Terri said, eagerly heading towards the pizza box to grab a slice. Terri glanced over at Kieran as he responded to Lilian and shrugged; she didn't know much about the club and who ran what... but she wouldn't have been too surprised if he helped. She also wouldn't have been surprised if he was all talk, though.

"Hey, if you have a problem with the pizza, just don't eat any. More for me and Lilian." Terri said with a wave of her hand, her mouth full of cheesy saucy goodness. Rolling her eyes as a korean lookin' guy grabbed a rice krispy yet Kieran had yet to even make a move, Terri pushed the box of treats close to Kieran. "Could you please stop looking at my rice krispie treats like that man? You're ruining my childhood." She said, before laughing and frisbeeing a plate at the boy so he could dish up.

"LILIAN! By the way, did I thank you for bringing Pizza? Because it's good pizza." She said, going to stand next to her friend. She did at least have the proper decency to swallow instead of talking with her mouth full around her friend. She did have at least a little decorum after all. "Also, it's good to see you! You look as beautiful as always... nice summer tan and all. So... what do I do to be initiated in this club of yours? I don't see a real point of leadership or papers to sign." Terri teased, lightly nudging Lilian with her elbow.

"I came to apologize. I didn't mean to interrupt your discussion with Minjae; I didn't realize you were speaking to him."

Finn blushed. "Actually it's probably a good thing you interrupted me. I was-"

"Is there anything I can do to make it up for you? Also, might I suggest you speak slower and stick to a topic? Minjae is very intelligent but I must admit even I had trouble keeping up with you as you rambled. And I'm not sure how strong his grasp on English is."

Finn winced at that. "Oh... I'm sorry, I didn't realize..." Just his luck. "I-" Finn bit his tongue, realizing he was about to ramble again. "Umm, thanks for pointing that out." Thoroughly embarrassed, Finn made his way over to the snack table to stand by Kieran. Kieran had become the nucleus of a small cluster of people that were chatting. There was Lilian, Minjae, and someone he didn't recognize. He was glad Lilian had decided to come back. She had teased about leaving the club last year, something about Kieran's "insufferable broodiness." Finn knew it was most likely a joke, but there was a part of him that had panicked initially.

"Also, it's good to see you! You look as beautiful as always... nice summer tan and all. So... what do I do to be initiated in this club of yours? I don't see a real point of leadership or papers to sign."

"I'm that point of leadership!" Finn piped up, grabbing a slice of pizza for himself. "I'm Finn by the way, and I'm technically the president. This meeting is kind of casual, we won't worry about the official registration paper work until next week." To his left, Kieran made a face. Finn waved a hand at him. "I forgot to print the sheets. But it's not a big deal. The deadline isn't for a week and a half. And you're so efficient, I'm sure you'll get a handle on it." Kieran continued to glare at him. Finn sighed and handed him a plate with four rice krispie treats. "Here. Cut it out. You're making everyone uncomfortable." As Kieran began stuffing his face, he addressed the room. "Hey everyone! There's snacks over here!" He hoped to call some of the people like Xavier who were hiding off in the corner into the center. It was important to make new friends, at least he thought so.

"
So," He turned his attention to the group around him and to the pizza in his hand. "How was everyone's summer?"

When Evan's alarm for class rang, he reached for his phone buried in his pocket. He had forgotten to turn off the alarm when he left his dorm, but Evan was already in his class. He had been so early that the class before his was still in the room and he'd had to wait in the hallway for it to finish before coming inside to take a seat. Evan looked up as the door opened and his professor walked in. "Wow, you're early. You must be really excited for this class," the middle-aged man remarked as he squinted at the wall clock. Evan shrugged, "It's a habit, but I'm also looking forward to the course," he said. The brunette got up and introduced himself to the professor for a few minutes before sitting back down.

Within the hour, more students started showing up and reminiscing about their summers. Evan just sat there in the middle of the class, tuning out the chatter around him as he thought about the rest of the school day. He had another class right after this one, then he could eat lunch, and then another class. Oh, and then there was that meeting at 4:30. He wasn't so sure he wanted to go, but he promised Izzy he would. Granted, she might not remember, but Evan figured out of all the important things she could have already forgotten this morning, his going to the club would be the one thing she remembered. Evan would also feel bad about lying to her or skipping out; she had seemed so excited about it when she invited him to come. Besides, he did have to meet that social activity requirement or whatever it was, and after two years at college Evan had managed to not join any extracurriculars.

The rest of the day went by smoothly for Evan. His professors and classmates seemed fine for the most part, and he was eager to get back into the swing of school. Maybe he was more enthusiastic about class than some people were, but college was a place where you could learn about what you wanted to, and Evan loved being able to plan his own education—his own future. Evan checked his phone and started walked toward Isabella's dorm to meet up for that club meeting. He couldn't remember what she called it, but he was pretty sure it had Greek letters. Evan knocked on the door, but no one answered so he sat out on a bench in the hallway. After ten minutes with no sign of his stepsister, Evan sent her a text.

newcreate.php

Hey, wasn't the meeting at 4:30? It's 4:45, and I'm at your dorm.

Izzy saw Evan's message and started walking faster. She could've sworn she had enough time to go buy her textbooks before the meeting. Apparently, she was wrong. This sort of thing happened all the time—no matter how hard she tried, she always managed to run late. Isabella broke into a jog for a few strides and then stopped because The Ancient Art of Eastern Asia kept jabbing her in the side. Plus, the collective weight of all the textbooks just made running too difficult. Yet, she managed to get up the stairs to her dorm room within five minutes, asking Evan to grab the key from her backpack and open the door for her because her hands were full.

"Sorry I'm late, let's go!" Isabella said quickly, as she literally tossed the books onto her bed. She threw her backpack off as well, taking only her phone and keys with her before shutting the door and leading the way out of the building. "So how were your classes?" she asked Evan. "Not bad, I think I'll like all of them. How about you?" he replied. Izzy shrugged as she pondered the question. "Yeah, same for me, I think. They seem pretty cool, but I can already tell that my Modern Religion class might be a drag. The teacher seems boring." She started walking faster, and Evan quickened his pace to keep up. The pair made it to Dudley Hall in record time, and Izzy slowed down to a normal walk once they got inside. She caught her breath but started to feel her excitement rising as they got closer to the room. Isabella was quite fond of everyone in Omicron Omicron Omega. Even if she didn't know everyone to a great extent, everyone that she had met and befriended within the time she had been in the club made it well worth the while. She was excited to catch up with her friends and hopefully make some new ones this year, too.

As Isabella opened the door, she heard the words "Hey everyone! There's snacks over here!" She grinned and elbowed Evan. "Look at that, our timing is perfect!" she said. People started to gather toward the table after Finn's snack announcement, but Izzy managed to spot a few faces she recognized. Her eyes fell on Xavier first because there was a lot of open space around him; no one dared to crowd his corner. He was intimidating, even she had to admit it, but she was convinced there was more to him than his reputation. Isabella tried to catch his eye, but she noticed he was listening to music. "Hey Xavier," she said with a wave as she headed toward the snack table, though she wasn't sure if he heard her. Izzy checked to make sure Evan was still with her, and she noticed he was following at an agonizingly slow pace.

"Evan, come on. I promise it'll be fine," she said. He seemed nervous, so Izzy reached out and grabbed his arm to pull him along, much to Evan's displeasure. "I can walk by myself, you know," he said. "And yet, you're not," Izzy replied. "Here, I'll introduce you to some people and we can get some snacks and it'll all be cool. But if we keep waiting around, there won't be any food left, and I'm hungry." The two worked their way through the cluster of people, and Izzy spotted one of their fearless leaders stuffing his face with rice krispie treats. She walked up behind his chair and peeked her head over his shoulder. "Kieraannn," she said, purposely dragging out his name. Her voice wasn't very loud, but her smile was broad. She laughed a little, seeing the snacks stacked on his plate but didn't think it was strange. This was OOO, after all. She had seen much weirder. "Finn!" Izzy called out, as she looked up. She waved at the club president, still grinning. "It's great to be back here. How have you been? Oh, and I like your shirt," she added. Isabella stepped to the side to make room for her stepbrother. "This is my stepbrother, Evan," she quickly explained. "Evan, this is Finn and Kieran, the club's president and vice president."

@SimplyMusicality @Xeyran

More people started filing into the room as words were exchanged and conversations began to flow. Xavier glanced over every once in a while but he was otherwise content to remain undisturbed in his little corner, tapping his feet to the upbeat music that never failed to keep him in a good mood. He folded his arms and closed his eyes as he sank back into the chair, relaxing his muscles and patting his wallet still sitting safely in his pocket. He could afford a little shut eye without the risk of anyone looking for trouble or bothering him unless a matter of truly great importance came up. How much time had passed since he shut his eyes and reopened them at the smell of no doubt delicious pizza wafting into the room, Xavier had no idea. But pizza was a good enough reason for him to get out of the chair and grab a slice as soon as his legs started feeling like it. For now his eyes and mind were trying to adjust to the crowd that had since grown in size and was continuing to grow, he noticed, when two other students walked in. He was pretty certain the girl's name was Izzy since she'd hung out with S couple of times but he didn't know the boy who was with her. He barely registered that she had greeted him and gave a wordless and barely noticeable nod in response as he rose from his seat and headed over to the table to grab a slice of pizza, lowering his headphones as he bit into it. "Thanks." He said, addressing whoever bought the food. "Pizza is always a good idea." He said between bites in a much better mood than he usually was in.

"Kieraannn,"

A familiar voice forced Kieran to pause shoving his mouth full of marshmallowy goodness. He quickly turned behind him to see Isabella on her toes, attempting to peek over his shoulder. She had this massive grin plastered across her face, and if Kieran didn't know her well, he probably would have found it disconcerting. "Isabellaaaa." He mimicked her high pitched voice with a somewhat creepy accuracy. He was quick to notice a new face standing just behind her. Isabella introduced him as Evan, her stepbrother before sidestepping past Kieran to join the circle that had gathered around the snack table. Kieran remembered her mentioning that she had a stepbrother at some event last year, and it had stuck out in Kieran's mind. A frown set on his face as he thought about his own family and step brothers. The paper plate in his hand crinkled as his grip on it tightened.

With a start, Kieran realized that he was making these faces with his eyes locked on Isabella's brother, Evan. Slightly embarrassed, the brunette's face relaxed into a somewhat sheepish grin. He was a lot taller than the other boy, and probably appeared a little bit intimidating. If he didn't keep on his "happy face", Finn would reprimand him later. He could already hear him in his head. "
You're officially the vice president now. You can't be mopey all of the time. Mopey scares potential new members." He rolled his eyes, and realized that it probably wasn't helping his case with the new kid either.

"
Sorry about that." Kieran spoke, the accented baritone a stark contrast from his earlier impression of Isabella. "I wasn't making those faces at you. Well, not intentionally anyway." The tall boy managed to tug his corners into a smile. "I see Isabella has already introduced me, but yeah I'm Kieran and I'm the vice president, but only because Finn isn't quite mentally present enough to run the club by his lonesome." Kieran ruffled his friend's hair affectionately, earning a swat from his friend who was facing the other way, chatting animatedly with the club.

"
So what brings you to Double O Omega?" Kieran asked to strike up conversation as he handed Evan a slice of cake from the snack table. He'd nearly been late because of that cake and he'd be damned if no one ate some.

Eddie had gotten distracted. She'd been re-reading Amber's comic in a vain attempt to cool herself off before heading to her first ever group meeting. She'd almost lost her temper with someone in her first theory of acting class who had droned on and on about theatre being a place for the upper class and how ticket prices were entirely fair as they kept the rabble out. She'd been very impressed with herself that she'd managed not to bring her fists into the conversation. Her mouth hadn't been kept out and the last fifteen minutes of the lecture had been her and the snob hurling insults at each other and the professor attempting (fruitlessly) to calm them down and stop the madness.

So she'd seriously needed to calm down.

However, this now lead to her current predicament. She was racing through the campus, the sketchbook in her hand rather than her pocket out of fear of dropping it and her trademark leather jacket falling off her shoulders as she moved as fast as her legs would carry her. She hadn't even had time to tie her hair back, although that wasn't going to be a problem much longer. In a week she was due for her charity shave and she'd be bald as a boiled egg for a while.

Bursting through the door of what she prayed was the right room, Eddie doubled over to catch her breath. Why did she think this was a good idea?

"Sorry I'm late! Got distracted..." She admitted, a little breathless. It was then she realised she'd burst into an empty room. Damn. Wrong one. Pulling back and checking the door, Eddie groaned. One door off! At least she'd get a chance to make a better entrance than bursting in like a monster was hot on her heels. Maybe Jim. No, Jim was too fat to chase anyone. Probably Susan. With her wings and long legs, Susan was perfect for chasing people down.

Adjusting herself, and quickly tying her hair back into a loose ponytail, Amber opened the correct door, the smell of pizza hitting her hard and her stomach announced her presence before she could open her mouth by letting out a low growling noise.

"Shut up." She grumbled to her own body before doing her best to smile out at the room, raising her hand in greeting. "Uh... hi? I'm Eddie, this is Omicron Omicron Omega, right?" She was almost certain she'd gotten the right room this time, everyone here did look like they didn't belong anywhere else (boy did she know that. After all, how many people had thought she was a boy, growing up?) but she knew better than to judge on just looks and wanted to be sure.

"Right?"

"How have you been? Oh, and I like your shirt,"

"Isabella!" Finn perked up and gave her a grin. He looked down and tugged at his shirt, checking what he was wearing. "The fish? Yeah I like it too. You see, I thought it would be funny. It has fish... They have fins... I'm Finn..." Finn kept going, looking for a reaction, and shrugging resignedly when he didn't get one. "That and Kier calls me Dory. I can't tell if it's endearing or mean." The tall boy pouted, but quickly reset his face when Isabella mentioned the guy she had brought with her. "Evan." Finn repeated. "Got it. ... For now anyway. He'll probably have to remind me later." Kieran immediately started chatting with Evan, and Finn smiled proudly. Finally Kieran was getting it. He was stepping up as one of the faces of Omicron Omicron Omega. ... Or he was delighting in another broody soul. Evan gave off that vibe.

"Pizza is always a great idea!" The president was quick to agree with Xavier. He was glad that he had made a point to join the rest of the group. Maybe he'd open up more this year, and Finn could get to know him better. "Thanks Lil!" Finn made sure that the girl who had thought to bring the pizza was given due credit. He was thankful for someone picking up the slack. Investing in real food had completely slipped his mind. On the bright side, there was no shortage of sweets. He appreciated people like Terri who took the initiative to actually make something, but there was definitely an abundance of sugar on the table. The boy felt a hand in his hair, most likely Kieran's, and he quickly swatted the hand away. Finn worked hard to maintain his hair in some semblance of neatness.

The get-to-know you meeting had been a success thus far. Just about everyone had returned, and there were more new faces than he had initially expected. Finn started to take a quick headcount- the one thing Kieran had left him in charge of- when a voice interrupted his chain of thought.
"Uh... hi? I'm Eddie, this is Omicron Omicron Omega, right?" The first thing Finn noticed about the girl was how tall she was. She was almost as tall as Finn was! Usually he and Kieran were the tallest ones in the room, and it was nice to meet someone who knew exactly how that felt.

"
Hi!" Finn called across the room. "You're in the right place!" The boy waved her over. "There are snacks over here!"

"
Eat some cake! I was almost late because of that cake and everyone better eat some!" Kieran piped up, and Finn sighed.

"
That's Kieran. He's cranky. I'm Finn! The president!" He offered his hand to shake. "It's nice to meet you!"

Alex - Dudley Hall Room 121
tumblr_mvutxsepcn1t0zo4mo6_500-jpg-jpe.262168

Alex had always found Finn interesting. He always seemed so very emotional, always tripping over his tongue and speaking more then most people appreciated. He was an amusing person to watch, and yet difficult to interact with unless Alex had a straight forward reason to do so. Yet it still... stung just a little when he left to go talk to someone else completely out of the blue. One moment they were talking and the next Finn was walking away.

Feeling like her 'friend making' goal was off to a slow start she decided not to force herself on anyone. Alex hadn't been blind to the realization that she didn't really draw people to her. It was often that Alex would approach someone, and they would be the first to leave. But that was okay, Alex thought. At least she was trying, right? Though in a group of Odd ones out, sometimes she felt the oddest. Though, logically, it was probable that many still felt that way.

Alex watched as new people came in, but made no move to go interact. She stayed at a distance and observed, leaning against a table that was a little bit away from the food table where everyone else seemed to be crowding. She recognized Evan, another of the more intelligent classmates that had arrived. Feeling a little uncomfortable, Alex wrapped her arms around herself in a self hug as she continued to listen to the conversation. Isabella wasn't entirely familiar to her, and neither was Eddie (at least Alex could catch the minor tells that Eddie was female like herself; Alex had learned over the years to tell these things when dealing with mistaken identities herself), though she was sure she'd probably seen their faces before but had had no real cause to remember them. Continuing in her people watching, she noted the behaviors of people; impressed that Xavier came over and interacted for a moment to get a slice of pizza. Alex felt the grumble in her stomach, but decided against going over to the table. Logically the crowd would disperse and there'd be easy access to the food in short time.

"Yes, you've made it to the right club." Alex replied in a fairly emotionless tone, giving Eddie a nod.

Terri - Dudley Hall Room 121

Turning to give a look to the boy speaking, she scrutinized Finn head to foot before smiling and nodding. "You don't look anything like a leader." She said, glancing at Lilian before looking back at him. Terri's eyes were drawn to the brooding boy's unhappy face next to the point of leadership, and she gave him an eye roll and a smirk. "Paperwork. Fuuuun." She had been joking about that but it was nice to see this place was official enough to need paperwork. Just as long as she didn't have to do more then sign her name a couple of times.

Terri's gaze moved to the peace offering of rice krispies and realized that this guy really was hooked on the sugary treats. Well, if she wanted to win him over she'd just have to make sure to make more for him. Not that she needed to right this minute, but it was good to have friends right? And if this guy was in charge of the club at all, she might be able to weasel in some fun by bribing him with rice krispies. She put the thought away to think over later and instead turned back to Finn when he ased the age old boring question you got to hear at least 3 times when summer had ended. She glanced over at Lilian, and was considering her answer when more people spilled into the classroom. She did get her question answered about Kieran, who was apparently vice president. Good to know. What a grumpy looking guy though.

"Isabella! How've you been?" Terri said, immediately going to another face she recognized. Not purposely leaving Lilian behind, but more seeking out another happy friendly face that she knew better then grumpy face and the leader who wasn't visually a leader. "I'm surprised you're part of an odd club like this? I mean, I joined so that Lilian wouldn't be so alone anymore but aren't you a bit too cool to be here?" Terri didn't mean it as an insult at all; she was merely complimenting and trying to discover just why she was here.

"Please. The only reason I'm still here is because Finn wouldn't be able to run a functional club without my help."

Lilian pondered Kieran's comment for a second. He was of course the fuel and brain power behind this whole organization. Numbers, charts, tables, that was all in Kieran's department, Finn's department was more human relation, but running the club couldn't possibly be the only reason Kieran stuck around. There was a slight smile on Lilian's lips. Deep down, Lilian knew there was a deeper connection between Kieran and this club than just organization. Sure, who didn't like to be the ol' powerful mastermind behind one of the school's best ran and most talked about club, but that meant nothing in comparison to the friendships this club had created. Lilian had also been hooked by the long lasting connections the members of this club seemed to form, yet there was one that she shipped more than others. Lilian had been the number one fan of Fineran by the end of their first year. Of course Kieran and Finn were strictly at a platonic level, but that didn't stop Lilian from forming her own speculations. Repressed emotions she called it.

"Yes of course, and I suppose your soul leaps in joy at the thought of helping others." Lilian teased, mocking Kieran's willingness to help Finn.

She turned to look over at Finn who was speaking with other members, greeting them as any well mannered host would. Lilian didn't blame Kieran, with such a dorky smile and a kind heart, who wouldn't jump on the chance of helping Finn out. She was sure even the most self centered person would get a kick out of helping this chicken find his head. Finn was special. The smile on Lilian's face disappeared for half a second as she was startled by an arm wrapping around her. The sudden proximity between her and another human send a jolt of alertness down her spine. Lilian was no fan of PDA and this arm thing was pushing her out of her comfort zone. Lilian's back straighten abruptly as she shot an evil glance towards Kieran. He should know how she feels about people being touchy. A strange sense of desperation and uncomfortable vibes kept ringing inside of Lilian as if a siren was going off inside her head. FLEA! RUN! GET THIS ARM OFF OF ME!!

With a tense grin silently threatening Kieran, she laughed dully at his comment, "What a nice heartfelt baked good, Lil. I feel loved and cherished that you took the time to bake something so wonderful and with so much love. This person- ermm, Terri- did a nice job. You can learn from her." Her grin turned to a sarcastic snark as she tried to hold back her a tad bit of jealousy at Terri's successful attempts at making a good first impression. "Heck the only think I brought my first meeting was a bad attitude...Kudos for Terri She rolled her eyes suppressing her slight envy and wishes that she had a redo of her first year, and answered Kieran with some sass of her own. "Oh you know me Kieran! Always looking for a new way to poison you little rats. What better way to do so than with a slice of pizza? Now please, take one of those krispies before they file a rape report." Lilian squirmed out of Kieran's grasp as Terri made her own comments about Kieran's lust for the cereal treats and snickered. Guess she wasn't the only one catching's Kieran's sinful stares.

It wasn't long after Terri asked about applications that Finn joined the trio, introduced himself, and babbled about forgetting the sign up papers. Shaking her head, Lilian reached over to Finn's thin wrist noticing it was clean and smooth. Lilian's eyes narrowed, "Where's the rubber band Finn? I told you to place a rubber band on your wrist every time you need to remember something. See this is why we can't have nice things. Now Terri will never be able to become an official member and it's all your fault! " Lilian smiled up at her tall awkward friend, but before he got a chance to make his plea and formulate an excuse as to why he wasn't following Lilian's brilliant tips on remembering more things Isabella and a new guy made their way into the club meeting. Finn was distracted once again by high pitched squeals and more introductions.

"Izzy! Nice to see you again!" Knowing the nature of the girl, Lilian was already preparing for a tight hug, but seeing that introducing the new guy, Evan, was first on Isabella's mind, Lilian took the opportunity to stick out her hand for a hand shake and saving herself from more unnecessary body contact. She waited her turn to introduce herself to Evan. "Hey Evan. I'm Lilian, lonesome wolf in the crowd." She winked playing along to Terri's comment on being alone. She wasn't, of course, alone in the club. She'd managed to make friends during her two years here after her stubbornness of being in the club wore out, but if Terri wanted to play the hero card, Lilian wasn't about to spoil her fun. "Tis true, for I was wandering these dark empty trails with no sense of direction. Then behold, Terri came to light the way." Lilian spread her arms out wide to create an emphasis, but she ended up laughing instead of creating a deep moment. "And nonsense Izzy is the weirdest creep in this entire school." Lilian made a disgusted face and then winked "In the best sense of the word that is."

Looking over towards Finn once again, Lilian asked, "So what's our order of business Mr. Prez?"

Evan was still trying to take in everything, but Isabella didn't seem to notice as she walked straight toward the center of the action. He noticed as she said hello to a tough-looking guy in the corner before he got up for pizza. Xavier did not look like the kind of guy most people would greet casually, but Evan also couldn't recall an instance when Izzy had ever been intimidated by anyone. The people Isabella hung out with generally made Evan nervous, but nothing truly awful seemed to have happen thus far, so he had to assume she was being relatively safe or that most of those people really weren't as shady as they appeared to be.

The boy smiled politely as he took note of the president and vice president. "Hello, nice to meet you," he said. Evan shifted awkwardly as Isabella's introduction ended and her attention quickly turned to the president she said was named Finn. He had never met anyone named Finn before, so he could probably remember that name. As Evan accepted the cake from Kieran, he realized he had never met anyone with that name, either. He also noticed that Kieran was making faces, but he decided not to mention it. Evan chuckled almost inaudibly when Kieran mentioned the president's mental absence. Finn did seem a bit scatterbrained and hyperactive compared to the vice president, and as Evan looked over in his direction, he wondered for a moment if Finn and Isabella could be blood related. "Yeah, I know what you mean. But to answer your question, I came to the club because of the social requirement thing. I didn't join any clubs in my first year, and I'm really not sure if I would have made the effort again this year except that Izzy insisted I come try this one out." Evan shrugged. Was it a great answer, probably not. But Kieran didn't seem like the type who would mind his honesty.

Evan took a bite of the cake, mostly to be polite since Kieran made a big deal out of it. Cake was okay, but Evan couldn't say it was his favorite food or anything. He looked up when Lilian introduced herself, using a hand to cover his chewing mouth before speaking to her. "Hi Lilian, nice to meet you. Though I must admit I have a hard time believing you... you look rather human for a wolf." Evan had noticed that she was joking, and he tried to return the humor but got the feeling he had failed. It was probably a bit too soon for jokes since he didn't really know anyone, and he wasn't a naturally funny person. Evan cleared his throat as he turned back to Kieran. "So, uh, what exactly do you all do in this club? Is it just hanging out, or do you all do service projects or join competitions?" he asked, still a bit unsure what this club was about, specifically.

newcreate.php

Isabella followed Finn's logic, for the most part, since her brain often worked in a similar fashion. "That and Kier calls me Dory. I can't tell if it's endearing or mean." The girl laughed and shrugged. Personally, she was quite fond of the little blue tang. "Well I think it's endearing, and hey...at least it's an a-Dory-ble nickname!" she winked. Isabella thought she saw Evan rolling his eyes from her side vision, but she thought it was a good pun. At least, Finn would probably appreciate it. "No worries," she said, when Finn mentioned he might forget Evan's name. "If I didn't live with him for several years, I might forget it too." She glanced over her shoulder at her stepbrother and then elbowed Finn. "I think we've found the grumpy buddies," she whispered. Izzy hadn't really thought about who Evan would and would not get along with in the club, but as soon as he started talking to Kieran, she wasn't surprised that they seemed to hit it off. Isabella noticed Eddie walk in, and she gave a friendly wave to the tall redhead before letting Finn do his president-thing. It was hard not to notice Eddie, honestly, as her height rivaled even their tallest members.

When she heard someone say her name, Isabella's attention quickly shifted once again. Her eyes lit up as she saw another familiar face and a patch of purple hair. "Terri!" she said excitedly before pausing to ask herself if she had remembered her name correctly. When Terri didn't correct her, Izzy felt relieved. "Aww," she said shyly, waving the compliment aside. "Geez, I'm not that cool, I just—" Isabella's sunny expression soured as Lilian spoiled her moment of glory. Oh, how she had missed these moments. "Well, well, look what the wolf pack dragged in —excuse me— abandoned," she countered with a smirk. She folded her arms and stuck out her tongue at the redhead, before giving a shrug. "Well there ya have it, weirdest creep in the entire school, at your service." She gave a dramatic bow to Terri and Lilian before reverting back to her amiable disposition.

Isabella didn't forget to hug either of the girls, but they were quick and friendly hugs, not smothering as one might imagine after being apart for several months. "It's good to see you both again! Did anyone go anywhere awesome this summer? My parents and I went to Coachella and Bonaroo," she said, mostly to Lilian because she remembered them talking about music festivals last semester. "We road-tripped the whole way, and it was so fun! You guys should totally go if you haven't yet." Isabella was familiar with Terri, though more so with Lilian since she had been in the club and it appeared that Terri was just joining this year. "And I can't say I expected to see you here either, Terri. So what's the real story? Were you really concerned about Lilian's loneliness or did she force you to come?" Izzy teased.

"Yes of course, and I suppose your soul leaps in joy at the thought of helping others."

Kieran winced at that. He shouldn't have taken it personally. No one knew about his past with Finn. Kieran had developed feelings, and Finn had shot him down. He was over it, for the most part anyway. Finn wasn't good for him, and he wasn't good for Finn in a romantic way. Platonic soulmates, Finn had called it. Kieran had been so angry that night. Why couldn't they just try? What was wrong with him that he was so unlovable? Platonic soulmates. He thought about that night more often than he'd like to admit. When he and Finn were alone and Finn would ruffle his hair. Every time his relationships inevitably failed. They would burn bright. They'd be heated and intense before blowing up like a star going supernova. And there was Finn, always so constant and picking up the pieces...

But, he was over it.

He looked down at his soda in hand, silently wishing someone had brought alcohol.

But, there were new members to greet, so he could focus his attention away from Lilian and her comment.

"Yeah, I know what you mean. But to answer your question, I came to the club because of the social requirement thing. I didn't join any clubs in my first year, and I'm really not sure if I would have made the effort again this year except that Izzy insisted I come try this one out."

Kieran laughed. "Yeah, no worries about that. I mean, I joined for free pizza. And I didn't even show up to the first meeting. I showed up after and tried to take the leftover pizza. So, consider yourself one step better than me." Kieran grinned. Finally he wasn't going to be the only broody one in this club. If there were enough of them, eventually Finn would have to stop complaining about Kieran being so grumpy.

"Hi Lilian, nice to meet you. Though I must admit I have a hard time believing you... you look rather human for a wolf."

Kieran snickered at the awkward humor. As an awkward person, he could relate.

"So, uh, what exactly do you all do in this club? Is it just hanging out, or do you all do service projects or join competitions?"

"Technically..." Kieran made liberal use of air quotes. "We're a frat. We're eligible for all of the activities that other fraternities and sororities participate in. We generally pick and choose what we want to do together. Football games- gross, Pep rallies- worse, formals- ugh, community service..." Kieran stopped to think about that one. "I actually don't mind that one. Moving pallets around at the food bank sounds gross, but it's actually not that bad. Everyone here makes it fun, and you're helping the community. So it's a win-win."

"-We also do our own activities! Like renting out the game room!" Finn added, overhearing Kieran describing the club.

"Well then, maybe it's time for the president to make an announcement?"

"Oh!" Finn quickly ran up to the podium and turned on the projector to display his Prezi presentation, only to have the screen turn blue. "Umm."

Kieran shook his head and turned to Evan. "He's so helpless. Hold this for a minute?" He handed Evan his drink and plugged the computer into the projector.

The comment about him not looking like a leader rolled right off of his back. He supposed he got that a lot. And he did need help to be successful as a leader, but he didn't mind it all that much. "A-dory-ble?" Finn lit up at Isabella's comment, clearly delighted. "I love it! I'm going to use that from now on!" Finn watched the others chat, glad that everyone was getting along so quickly. It was great. The club was already a little bigger than last year, and he could only hope for it to continue to grow and flourish. Behind him, he could hear Kieran talking to Evan about the club. "-We also do our own activities! Like renting out the game room!"

"Well then, maybe it's time for the president to make an announcement?"

"Oh!" That was right! He had a presentation prepared! That's why he had to hunt down the projector today! The boy grabbed his laptop from one of the seats and booted it up, pulling up the Prezi presentation. Then, he hit the power button on the projector. It was loading... And nothing but a blue screen. "Umm..." He looked at Kieran, in need of the boy's expertise. Of course, he thought that it would require just a little more finesse than just plugged the cable into the laptop. "Oh... Right. I totally knew that!" That probably wasn't a lie. He would've noticed that it wasn't plugged in if he went to investigate... Probably.

"Alright guys, can I get everyone's attention up here?" The eyes turned to him, and he smiled. "Great! So I put together this little thing to talk about what Omicron Omicron Omega is." Finn pulled up the first slide. "Who are we?" Finn read off of the slide. "We're a coed fraternity. So that means that we accept gals, guys, neither, and anywhere inbetween. We do all of the things other greek life organizations do, but, without the hazing or rush process. By being here, you've all rushed and received a bid! So, we're good to go. Umm..." Finn looked up at the slide, thinking of anything else to add. "We also don't have a house! But, a frat was just kicked out-"

"-we're not getting a frat house." Kieran interjected from beside Evan.

"But we-"

"No."

"The possibility of getting a house is up for discussion." Finn concluded, going to the next slide. "When were we founded? We were founded a few years ago. By Phineas Donovan Downard. Who is me." He clicked over to the next slide. "What do we do? Frat things, like..." Finn skipped to the second What do we do slide. "Pep rallies, games, community service... But we also do our own things! Last year we went bowling, we rented out the game room for a night... It's a lot of fun!" Finn looked back up at the presentation. "Pie-A-Professor was a fundraiser we did last year, and it really put us on the map for greek life. With it, we won the fundraising contest!" Finn looked particularly pleased. Of course, Finn and Alex had figured out the logistics, but it was his idea. "And next..." Finn flipped the slide. "Important business with Kier-Bear."

"Are you kidding me?" Kieran was clearly not impressed.

"Lilian told me to!" Finn was quick to deflect the blame. With an eye roll, Kieran went up the the front to discuss the important stuff.

"So, registration. Finn forgot to print off the paperwork, so we'll take care of it at the next meeting. Everyone is still welcome to participate in the field day next week without it." Kieran was visibly displeased with the field day, but Finn was sure he'd come around. "Next... Letters. We will be ordering our letter shirts next week as well, and because we lack a treasurer, Alex will help me have prices ready for everyone to bring to the next meeting. Which leads me to elections." Kieran looked around the room. "We're big enough now to need an official secretary and treasurer. Any returning member is welcome to run for either position." Kieran looked over at Alex. "And I want to nominate Alex for treasurer." Finn smiled at the girl and offered her a thumbs up. Kieran had brought it up the other night, and Finn thought it was a great idea. She was practically the treasurer already, and the title would make anyone feel good.

"And she's not here, but I nominate Rebekah for secretary!" Finn added.

"Alright. And anyone please feel free to offer any other nominations, and we'll vote at the next meeting. Now..." Kieran checked the list. "Field Day. Our club field day is next week. Be there or be... Lame. I dunno. That's all I got." Kieran stepped back, offering Finn the floor once more.

"Alright guys!" Finn smiled brightly. "That's all I got. Welcome all of our new members, and I'll see everyone at Field Day!"

Duncan Moran

Dudley Hall Rm 121

And running late …

Talking to the site inspector at his warehouse had taken too much time. Duncan was now running late - and he hated being late. He was almost neurotically early. But Security Guard had given him grief about trespassing - on his own property. Well, he was leasing it - or rather his company was with the help of his family. His ID didn’t list his PhD. He simply wasn’t that vain. So he had to show the guy his lease agreement and ID. The Inspector gave him much the same grief. The man decidedly did not like working for a 17 year old brat. By the time he was done Duncan realized he needed a face for his “think tank”.

Honestly, it wouldn’t hurt to have someone who could handle shipping and receiving, order research materials, handle the bills. But that all seemed like such a colossal waste of money. While the money he made for the rights to his patents covered everything, it wasn’t unlimited. Eventually the overhead would eat him alive. The one patent he had that was worth billions had been tied up by Kimberly Clark and Procter and Gamble. Diapers were a 12 billion dollar industry and Duncan had threatened to take it over with a single patent. He got the patent approved. But they had fed fears of a nanotech grey goo scenario. By the time people ever got past that the technology would be obsolete and the patents expired.

Part of his money had been eaten up paying fines for a rocket fuel experiment in which he had gotten a number of friends investigated for conspiracy to commit terrorism and circumventing explosive materials regulations. He had covered all the fines himself. He still felt pretty guilty. But .. it had been one hell of a launch.

Duncan had wanted to find a Greek styled fraternity and had expected to find all of them filled with hazing and alcohol related activities. PhiKappaPsi was still trying to make him a fourth exception to their rules of membership. He would have fit under the third, but that practice was banned in the 19th century. And … many of their chapters used alcohol in hazing rituals - both illegal and in a few cases lethal. Omicron Omicron Omega was different. In fact, different is what they were all about. And if anyone filled that bill, it was Duncan. He had never fit into a bell curve. The very notion that he couldn’t do something for any reason - size, age, whatever - offended him. Okay, so there were gender specific things he couldn’t do. Technology had advanced to the point where even that was changing. And maybe he hadn’t been old enough to do some things legally or biologically. But that would come in time. But he had been all of 5’3” tall weighing in at 120 lbs while routinely kicking field goals over 50 yards. He hadn’t broken any records, but most would have called the feat impossible, especially if they had known how messed up he had been.

Was OOO for him? He hoped so. They were the sort of people he had had as friends in high school.

He found a place to park near handicapped. While he didn’t qualify for a permit, it was still painful to walk. He left his guitar and books in the vehicle and took only his electric heated lunch box, an ice cold orange juice, and his laptop - just in case he got bored.

He arrived just in time to hear, “-We also do our own activities! Like renting out the game room!" He waited and listened, not wanting to interrupt. Next they answered his biggest questions - about hazing and rush. Finally he got up the nerve to poke his head in the door. By this time they were welcoming all the new members. Then he actually slid inside and half slid around the edge of the room trying to find a spot as far from everyone as he could manage.

“Am I late?” The scents of a Turkish styled fritatta covered in a Pakistani curry sauce he had tried and found successful, along with a couple crawfish boudin filled the room. He smiled and looked at the pizza. “Huh .. Purina College Student Food. Chow, Chow, Chow.” He had taken a class in … something. He forgot what, back in 9th grade. The teacher had shown a movie made up of advertisement clips with slogans. There had been a Purina cat food commercial where the cat did some sort of dance to a the Chow song. For some reason he had remembered it at that moment.

“Sorry I was late. Got held up with physical therapy and some stuff from moving here. Anything I’m needed for?” He smiled. “Besides my food.”
