Name: Lysander Raptis.
Name Meaning: Lysander comes from Greek "Lysandros", meaning "liberator of man", or "freed man". Lysander was also a character in Shakespeare's play, A Midsummer Night's Dream. Raptis is a Greek surname meaning "tailor".
DOB: January 13th (age 18)
Gender: Male, though he presents a bit androgynously.
Current Residence: Oceanview Academy.
Occupation: He is a fulltime student at Oceanview Academy.
Abilities: Above average strength, a flair for the arts, wine making, a bit of a green thumb.
Parents: Alexandra Raptis and the Greek god, Dionysus. However, he was raised by Alexandra and a woman she later married named Agathe before he arrived at Oceanview Academy.
Birth order: Only child of his mother, but possibly one of many of Dionysus' children.
Siblings: Possibly many due to his father, the exact number is unknown.

On any given day, he could end up wearing a dress to class if he really wanted. On other days, he prefers to tone it down to a simple outfit that likely includes a cardigan and other flowy garments.

Strengths: His creativity, his outgoing nature, able to work with people.
Weaknesses: His temper, lack of a filter, can be dishonest at times.
How does the character deal with:
Anger; He is subject to bouts of anger, and tends to go into a frenzy when he is angry. However, you really have to provoke him to get him to that point. Sadness; He doesn't tend to dwell on sadness for too long, preferring to bottle it up and move on.
Conflict: Conflict? He's often the one causing it! He enjoys a little bit of chaos every once in awhile.
Change: Change is something that Lysander is used to. He's somewhat numb to it on the surface, but it does affect him on the inside, usually negatively.
What frightens this character: The idea of meeting his father, dying, getting severely injured/breaking bones.
What makes this character happy: Theatre, the arts in general, things that are bound to be a bad idea.

Clyde has the ability to manipulate the earth and plants, as well as speak to animals. These are her primary powers.
Biography
Born the daughter of Demeter and Zeus, making her the sister of Peresphone, Helis lived most of her blink of a life on Mount Olympus under the watchful, overprotective gaze of her mother, who did not want a repeat of Peresphone. By this time, the worship of the Greek Pantheon has since fizzled out into a few Hellentic groups across the globe who remained unaware of Helis' existence as a Goddesses. Inheriting most of her mother's gifts, Helis was seen almost as Demeter's heir, though sufficently less powerful. Being an infant of a Goddess, because honestly nineteen years is barely a blink of an eye in god years, Helis soon grew distant and jaded in the grand splendor of Mount Olympus and set her sights onto the earth, watching from afar as the sons and daughters soon came forth and was brought into Oceanview Academy. Eventually, she escaped the ever-watchful eye of her mother, took on a mortal form and enrolled herself into Oceanview Academy as a demigoddess of Demeter, going by the name of Clyde Summers.

Silent and often out of the way of the others, can get cocky sometimes, secretive, and these are the traits I want to divulge.

Since she is a full-blooded goddess, her secondary powers include shapeshifting (as demonstrated in her bio), immortality, reality-warping, etc. Pretty much what you would expect from an actual Goddess. But she will not be using any of these powers in the RP. Except maybe Immortality as that's a passive power.

Biography

Hiraya has lived her life fleeting through the different places she has lived in before settling to Oceanview. She was born from the love of Reyna to Guillermo, or who she had come to know as the God of Fire, Maklium sa Bagidan. It was a name that meant Being of the Flint. Her mother didn't know what he was until he told her the truth, something she didn't take too well and left with baby Hiraya in her arms.

Hiraya was four when her mother died in an accident. So she never really remembers her mother that well and grew up thinking that she was the child of her aunt, Milanie. The woman had loved her with her whole heart. Even with Hiraya's tendency to heat up, literally, or conjure small flames on her hands. Her aunt had warned her, never to do anything of the sort again or there will be consequences to which she had agreed. Life was great for Hiraya at the time, until her aunt fell ill to cancer. Before dying, Milanie had told the nine year old girl the truth, something she knew all along but never really wanted to accept.

After the funeral, nobody from her relatives wanted to take her in, knowing her peculiar tendencies. Nobody but the man who was supposed to marry her aunt, Marcial Lebrudo. He travelled somewhere new every year, bringing the girl with him all the while teaching her Eskrima. He was once an instructor and he finds that it would help the girl to know the martial art to help her someday. She did home study due to the nature of the man's work, she liked studying. Like her mom, whom Marcial has met the woman many times and told her what she was like, how she acted, stories about her real mother. She made it her goal to make both her mother and aunt proud but she finds herself not having a clear goal in mind. Especially when she's forced to attend the school for demihumans, not knowing what to do there and after it. Even if people say that she could go places.

Biography

Life has been hard for Isagani. Not that he'll tell you that, no. His father had always wanted to be an astronomer but things didn't cut out well for him. But he kept his hobby, watching the night and always in awe of the beauty it held. He was in a midlife crisis when he met the woman who would change his life. Mayari, or as he'd known as Peñafrancia. His love for her was too big, too much that he needed her like a drug. It didn't show the before but after Isagani was born, Mayari had become distant and that bothered Emmanuel. He kept asking what was wrong, she'd never give him a straight answer, he'd ask if she still love him and she'd hesitate before saying that she does.

Then she vanished. Leaving him with a son that was so much like her. He was hurt and angry at what she did that every spite was all directed to poor little Isagani. Yes, he lived with an alcoholic and deadbeat of a father but even if he could never please his father, he had received love from his grandparents instead. But that didn't last long and soon his grandparents passed away. Leaving him, once again, with his father. It hard, which is why his personality is one that isn't the easiest to get along with. He'd been in a lot of trouble in school, that is something that hasn't changed until now. He tried his hand at part time jobs but it just leads to him getting fired in just two to four days.

He has always felt different with his odd strength and talent in combat even if he has never done any before his very first fist fight. And with that, he made money through a local MMA competitions. Money his father steals from him. He didn't care, he knew that nothing he does would change his father anyways so he just let him be. He lived his life that way, until Oceanview Academy for the Gifted.

He was pretty shocked to find two well dressed people coming for him. Claiming that he was special in a way that concerns his birth. They explained every thing to him, from his birth to the possibilities of what he could do. He accepted, because he wanted to be away from his father as much as possible. What was more of a shock was that his cousin, Hiraya was just like him but more different too. The two weren't particularly fond of each other, meeting only once or twice but made a mutual agreement to help each other whenever possible. They were family, and they both have this ideal that family should stick together. Even if the two lead different lives, it was tht one thing that made them become close.

personality: On the surface, Oisín exudes confidence and determination in everything he does, though his intellect is quick to shine through. He has a sharp and witty tongue, one he's prone to using when it isn't proper. Still, he has a brilliant mind, having never lost the natural curiosity that drew him to magic and learning. He has nothing but passion for his studies and tries to get others to share in his passion as well.

Oisín is constantly excited by small wonders of science, seeking happiness wherever he can find it after all his tragedies. He takes pleasure and pride in research well done, and is excruciatingly thorough in his studies. He loathes the feeling of not knowing while also celebrating the excitement of discovery. His reckless curiosity often leads him to trouble, but his cleverness generally gets him back out of it.

So fervent is Oisín in his passions that he is often prone to periods of excitable activity, deeply immersing himself on one thought or idea to the exclusion of all else -- including people -- for days at a time. He's been known to go for days without sleeping while working on something that has caught his interest, and sometimes has to be forced to eat or rest. history: Oisín might be all smiles up front, but he usually isn't willing to share much of his past. From his parentage and his accent, he is undoubtedly an Irishman, but beyond that he will say little. He has, once or twice, implied that this is for protection, though whom he is attempting to protect -- himself, his listener, or someone else entirely -- isn’t clear. What matters is that if there was a life before the academy, Oisín doesn't care much to remember it.

His earliest memories were of a hidden house, filled with ancient books and a no-named mother's embrace, but most of all, his gift. “Born awake” was what they called him, the fact brought into light when, in a child’s fit of rage over nothing of consequence, he'd unleashed an entropic wave of magic that wilted the plants around him. His childhood was plagued by such events, often leaving him weak, tired, and sick. When it came time for him to leave the nursery and enter the realm of childhood, Oisín was sent to the Caisleán na Fianna

It was every Celtic demigod's dream to call themselves a warrior of the Fianna, but few are honored enough to do so. Oisín was brought up among their ranks, though he'd never taken to the sword as well as his comrades, spending most of his time in the libraries and casting halls. Overall, his time spent with the Fianna was largely uneventful. Save for his struggle to control his magic, which became (and still becomes on occasion) errant with fast or extreme shifts in his emotional state, Oisín was a diligent student who was both interested in and dedicated to his studies. It became clear early on, however, that he excelled at the subjects that piqued his interest and near entirely avoided those that did not.

But between his time with the Fianna and with the Academy, there is another curious hole in his memory. He cannot remember how exactly he wound up in a school on the other side of the world, only that it was for protection. Should he be confronted on the matter, he might claim he couldn't remember what happened then, or even deny that anything happened at all.

Nonetheless, Oisín's devotion to the Fianna is continuous, even though he is no longer affiliated on paper. He might never feel truly detached from that organization. At Oceanview, his studies, too, continue, and he hopes his efforts will make a significant impact on the demigod community. Though he tries not to think on it too often, the knowledge of a fissure opening in his mind to let all manner of dark memories out concerns yet intrigues him deeply. He is at once satisfied with not having to be remember them while wishing he could unveil them for himself .

Blood of the Aes Sídhe -- The Aes Sídhe are extradimensional spirits, godly embodiments of magic given sapience. They are tall, strong, beautiful, and immortal. They dwell mostly in the Otherworld, known to them as Tir na nÓg, where the powers of creation come alive, become shaped, and are given cognizance in the form of magic. It is there they have their own societies, cities, politics, and advanced, magic-infused technology.

Oisin being half-Sídhe and half-mortal creates an interesting case. While the Sídhe exist primarily in the Otherworld, Oisín's soul seems to exist in the Otherworld and the mortal world simultaneously. He is able to see, hear, and touch Sídhe when they cross over to the mortal world, which would be impossible to regular humans, as the barrier between the two worlds means the Sídhe can no longer manifest completely on Earth outside of certain times of the year. Oisín is able to enter the Otherworld in his dreams, often at will, though sometimes not.

Druidic Magic -- Magic is everything to the Aes Sídhe. Magic is the heartbeat of the Universe, of all that is, what was, and what will be. It is the river that flows through all living things, turning their passions to power. It is the driving force of the world's creation, and it will someday be the force of its end. The ability to wield this Power comes as naturally as breathing to the Sídhe, though humanity has long been deafened to its song. Half-Sídhe like Oisín are able to access a fraction of this power by reaching into the Otherworld, but their powers are diminutive when compared to a full Sídhe.

Druids are able to channel flows of different elements or Aspects, which can be can be separated into 2 categories: primal and compound. There are six primal aspects: Air, Water, Fire, Earth, Order, and Entropy. Compound aspects are those that are created by combining two primal and/or other compound aspects. (Fire and Water will create Steam, for example)

Magic can be dangerous when placed in the hands of mortals (even demigods) and one must always be careful when using it. The Power is extremely addictive, and those who use it and are not strictly trained will most likely kill themselves and others, or -- if they are very lucky -- they will sever their connection between Earth and the Otherworld, rendering them unable to use magic ever again.

[div class=p] Dakota is a very grey-zone individual. She is almost always in the middle of the spectrum. Dakota is neither introverted or extroverted, neither loud or quiet. Dakota's personality all changes on her environment and situation. It is hard for people new to Dakota's life to pin down her ways and her mannerisms which can make her seem intimidating or confusing. It is often said that Dakota and her twin brother, Drew, are the two sides to their mother, Athena. While both twins have strong representation on both the wisdom and warfare sides of their mother, Dakota shows a much higher aptitude with the fighting and warfare side of things. Dakota is highly intelligent, probably more than most others, but in the ring is where she excels. Dakota is an athlete and is almost always moving. She can be seen as almost hyper in the sense that she cannot sit still for very long. Her concentration is strong but in order for her to learn best, she needs to be moving. Dakota takes all of her emotions out in her many sports that she plays. On an interpersonal front, Dakota isn't as open and friendly as her brother. She's a focused individual and typically has a goal in mind. When Dakota has a set objective in mind, you'd better watch out for she has no problem taking out any problem or person in her way. Dakota is incredibly stubborn and headstrong and it is nearly impossible to change her mind. If she has an ideal in mind, or if you've somehow managed to anger her, Dakota will not let it die without a solution. Dakota is cutthroat and competitive in an almost extreme sense. This attitude doesn't mean she isn't kind or helpful, she is just more focused on her career more than relationships. However, if you land a place in Dakota's heart, she will protect you and help you at any and all costs, even if it will hurt her in some way. [div class=p]bio. Dakota was born on March 2nd, six minutes after her twin brother Drew. No one is entirely certain where or when the twins were born, all that is known is that they were dropped off at an orphanage that evening by a woman claiming to have found them behind a dumpster.

Dakota and Drew didn't have an overly terrible childhood. They attended a small public school in Brighton until they turned seven. It was then that both twins were tested and found that they were highly gifted. Dakota was found to have an IQ of 142. It was then that they were placed into a temporary home in London and sent to a private school specializing in teaching gifted children.

Dakota didn't have a lot of friends, save for the friends she made on her various sports teams. She competed on a highly competitive circuit in taekwondo and judo, claiming many medals over her time on the circuit. At thirteen, she began training full time in hopes of reaching the Olympics by sixteen. She was a fan favourite at every competition and was even offered a place at a more competitive trainer with a home school teacher so that she could focus more on her dreams of becoming an Olympian.

All of those plans were crushed when two strange looking people showed up at the door to her dorm room. Only a week before she was to transfer out of the private school her and Drew were staying at, she finally had news about who her parents were. Rather, who her mother was.

Dakota couldn't help but laugh. Athena, the Greek goddess? No way. Alas, upon listening to the people at her door and viewing pictures of her mother, she decided that it was, in fact, the truth. She was given the choice to attend an academy for other people like her, children of gods and goddesses. She wasn't going to accept, she had way too much on the line to throw it all away. Achieving her dreams was at her fingertips, all she had to do was reach out and grab it.

Then Drew told her that he was going and wouldn't be able to see or talk to her again if she didn't join him. Those were the rules. Dakota decided the next day to go with her brother. It destroyed her to say goodbye to her dreams but she just couldn't say goodbye to her brother forever. At fifteen, the twins headed to Oceanview and have been there ever since.

[div class=p] Drew is quite the polar opposite of Dakota. Where Dakota is brash, Drew is warm and friendly. Where Dakota can be narrow minded, Drew sees the spectrum. Out of the twins, Drew is much more kind, friendly, and warm to others. He is a people person and enjoys making friends. He doesn't view himself as overly popular as he considers only a select few people incredibly close friends but he is quite the social butterfly and spends a lot of time helping others.

It is said that the twins each represent a unique side of their mother Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom and warfare. Both twins show skill in both areas but it is quite obvious that Drew favours the wisdom side of his mother. Between the two siblings, Drew is more intelligent and is much more fascinated with learning and knowledge. He spends a great deal of time learning and has a personal philosophy that no one can ever know too much or ever stop learning. He believes that everyone can teach you something, from the youngest child to the most senior adult.

Drew's pass-times represent him the best. Drew runs a tutoring business on the side when he isn't practicing rugby or lacrosse or studying. He offers his tutoring services for free to anyone who desires to learn or needs help. That is the easiest way to describe Drew: intelligent, caring, helpful, selfless. He is described as a sweetheart who will help you no matter the hour no matter the situation. This comes with a downside. Drew is eager to help everyone and often feels terrible when he can't. Drew also trusts too easily and this can lead him to become hurt quite easily. Regardless of any flaws of his personality, he sees the risk of being hurt or manipulated all a crucial part of his existence and job of helping others in any way he can.

[div class=p]bio. Drew was born on March 2nd, six minutes before his twin sister, Dakota. o one is entirely certain where or when the twins were born, all that is known is that they were dropped off at an orphanage that evening by a woman claiming to have found them behind a dumpster.

Drew and Dakota had decent childhoods. The orphanage they grew up in was caring and was devoted to helping the children in any way they could. The twins attended a public school in Brighton until the age of seven when it was discovered that both twins were genius level intelligent. While both twins scored incredibly high on the IQ test, Drew scored higher with a score of 148. Shortly after this discovery, the twins were pulled from the public school system. They were put in a temporary home in London and eventually moved into dorms at a private school in London when they were twelve.

Drew and Dakota had very different dreams and ambitions. While Dakota spent all of her time hitting the ring, Drew spent all of his time hitting the books. His dedication to his studies bumped him up a year in his academics after showing immense promise. He was placed into the advanced program at the private school about six months after entering. While Drew was fantastic at anything factual, excelling in subjects such as math, chemistry, physics, and biology, he struggled with more abstract subjects such as the arts and philosophy. Still, he took any and all courses he could, looking to expand his horizons as much as he could. Drew is a strong believer that one can never stop learning.

The summer after his fourteenth birthday was spent in Greece on a trip hosted by the advanced program at his school. It was there that he visited the Parthenon in Athens. Immediately, he felt a connection with the location. It was strange, the pull that the building had on him, but he ignored it and chalked it up to the thrill of travel. Little did he know how entirely wrong that was.

He returned back to the private school the second last week of August and began doing research on this Greek goddess Athena. He was curious as to why he felt such a strong connection to the goddess, it simply didn't make sense. He almost missed her. But she isn't real so how could that be? Through his research, he came to what he thought was a silly conclusion: he was distantly related to Athena. Perhaps Athena was a real person back in Ancient Greece and he was related that way.

That is when Drew stumbled upon a letter addressed to him and his sister wedged in a book of gods and goddesses around the world in the library. How had that gotten there? The letter confirmed his suspicions of related to Athena. Only this letter stated that Athena was no distant relative. Athena was his mother. The heading of the letter stated the letter was sent from Oceanview Academy and to call an odd looking number in order to secure a spot. Drew thought someone was pranking him but called anyways.

A week later, Drew was visited by two representatives from the academy. They explained the goals of the academy and that he and Dakota were both eligible to become members. Drew refused to accept until he saw the school, which he did that same day. At that point, he knew he needed to go. There was still one problem: if he went and Dakota didn't they wouldn't be able to see each other or speak to each other again. Dakota made the decision on her own to go and the two began attending the school at fifteen and have been there ever since.

Appearance: Small horns sprout from her head, accompanied by hooves and coarsely furred legs from mid-calf down. Amelia inherited these satyr qualities from her grandfather, the Greek God Pan. With each generation, these abnormalities lessen, as the god's blood is thinned out by mortal blood.

Clothing: Amelia wears a dark grey sweater, black pants, and no shoes. When among mortals, she has a pair of boots that were made custom to fit against her hooves to disguise them. Her horns are hard to conceal, and she often has to lie and claim that they are body modifications.
Personality: Amelia is an outgoing and hard-headed person. She's idealistic and strives to meet the highest standards, though in her effort she overextends herself and is left with a lackluster outcome. Her moral compass is strong and she stuggles to deviate from what she thinks is right, but is fiercely loyal due to those values. She struggles with confidence, and often finds herself envious of other's beauty and talent. Emotionally driven, Amelia rushes into situations without thinking, sometimes leaving her in more trouble than if she'd minded her business.
Biography: Amelia was raised by her mother, the daughter of Pan, in a small cottage in the country-side. Her mother could not blend in with mortal society, with horns far too large to hide, so she spent most of her childhood away from mortals. Amelia was born without horns, much to the delight of her mother. Once she was enrolled in Oceanview, however, they began to grow, and within two years they grew to their full height. Amelia has learned better control of her powers at Oceanview, and tries her best to be diligent in her studies.
Powers:
- Musical Influence: Animals and beasts are enchanted by the music she plays, whether from her pan flute or other instruments. They gather around her for as long as she plays, but she cannot force them to do her bidding. Humans are not magically effected, but can find it calming.
- Nature Affinity: Plants seem to become brighter and more full of life around her, invigorated by her presence. They also grow faster if kept in close proximity to her for a long time.
- Synchronicity: Her emotions are able to be sensed by others in an aura around her. They are expressed through colors and music, seen in the mind of anyone within the range of influence. The more godly blood within the person, the more perceptive they are to this.
Other: Amelia can play a variety of instruments, preferring woodwinds. She has a pan flute, an ocarina, and a piccolo.
