Fantasy Nobles of Kale (Low Fantasy RP with Nation Building and RPG elements)

900 years ago, there was a great cataclysm. Not much is known of the world pre-cataclysm, most history is assumed to be extinguished by whatever catastrophe that presumably left the world the way it is. The world is cold. Oh, so cold. The land of Sukale is smothered in snow. Frozen tundras strech out across the lanscape, plauged by frequent blizzards. The icy monotony is only broken by large cities surrounding sturdy castles and the smaller villages that stretch out from said cities.

Sukale is divided into two kingdoms: Yukale in the east, Jequel in the west. Yukale stretches from the east coast of Sukale to the Broken Vow River, that runs from the high northen mountains, to the southern, flat tundras. The river acts as a natural border between Yukale and Jequel.

The only other known landmass is located in the Southwest, it is called The Grand Desert. The Grand Desert is the only known land not touched by icy winds, however, it did not receive its name for nothing. Sand for as far as the eye can see. The land is so hot, it is said if you were to walk acorss sun-exposed land with barefeet, the grains of sand would be burned into your flesh. For this reason, most of The Grand Desert is uninhabitable. Along the coast, however, stand 3 great City-States. The north coast holds Ouro, the northeast coast holds Moeda, and the east coast holds Conta.

The three city-states are the wealthiest cities known to man, exporting goods that could not be made in Sukale like glass, delectable desert fruits, fish that only inhabit that region, etc. Together, the city-states could be the most powerful kingdom in the known world, but they spend too much time warring amongst themselves to band together in such a way.

Nobles of Sukale is a low fantasy RP with RPG and nation building elements. The Major Houses of Yukale each send a representative to live in Kale, the capital, and take a seat at the Eastern Council, a group that advises the King on what's best for the realm... but every noble has their own alliances, motivations, and intentions. You will play one of these nobles sent by your House to represent its interests.

Stats are a thing in this. I like the idea of things like combat not being subjective. Obviously, not subjective does not mean without context. If you have higher combat, but find yourself in a Red Wedding situation, you shouldn't be able to fight your way out of it.

Combat is personal fighting skill. Tactics is your skill with commanding troops. Social Standing is how NPCs, The King, the city of Kale, and the world sees you as a whole. Are you an oathbreaker? Seen as honorable? If you want to have a one on one conversation with the King without guards present you better have high Social Standing. Knowledge will mainly affect the accuracy of your spymaster's reports. Business Sense mainly impacts your taxes. There will not be a level up system, instead your skills will improve or degrade based on your actions throughout the week. Discuss strategy with a famed general? You improve your Tactics. Betray another noble publically? Your Social Standing will take a hit.

I also want money and your military to be tangible. Based on your noble and house sheets, I'll generate a starting total for both. A bigger military means you will receive less in Taxes, because of military upkeep. I don't want this to get too convoluted, however, so managing this on your end will simply be you deciding to invest in recruiting, or you deciding to disband some troops. Also, mobilizing your army and calling your bannermen takes a week real time. Moving your army great distances also takes a week real time.

Your Weekly Report

Every week I will send you a report. It will consist of your current gold balance, your current troop number, a report from your spymaster of varying reliability, and where you'll see your skills progress or regress based on your actions throughout the week. It's also where you'll invest in recruiting or scale back your military and either have your spymaster spy on someone specific or just generally try to pick up on rumors.

At least one post a week, min 100 words unless it's dialogue.

PMing is encouraged, afterall how would you go about betraying someone if they know about it?

Kale is a busy city, full of bureaucracy, overpopulation, crime, active markets, gold, and courtly lies and betrayal. Perfect for a noble like you.
The people of Sukale are a hardy bunch, adapted to the cold. Full beards are the norm for men, while all bundle up in heavy attire to survive the harsh climate.

Yaginetti

Yaginetti are a crude people. They are covered in shaggy white hair from head to toe, speak a rudimentary form of common along with their own unknown language and seem to behave in a tribal manner. They are extremely aggressive, and attempt to kill any humans they come across. Everything they hunt and kill, they eat and use its skin to make tents and its bones to make weapons. Including humans. They are very strong and sturdy and mostly inhabit the northern mountains of Sukale.
Sukale: Mammoths, Sabretooth Tigers, Wolves, Seals, Penguins, many kinds of fish, Snowsnakes (15-35 ft long snakes that bury themselves in snow and spring out at unsuspecting prey), Rabbits, Foxes, Cats, Dogs, Moose, Rats, Bears, Killer Whales, Sea Wyrms (think more MTG type than actual limbless dragon)

The Grand Desert: Sand Wyrms, Giant Vultures, Desert Foxes, Rats, Sandsnakes, Cats, Desert Lynx, Many kinds of fish
The Trio: There were once Two Gods. The God of Wrath and the God of Forgiveness. Wrath presided over death, war, murder, anger, etc. Forgiveness over peace, love, truth, etc. 1000 years before the Great Cataclysm, there was a wager. Over the next 1000 seasons, each god would try and influence the population of Sukale. If, at the end of the millennium, Wrath was proven to be more influential, Forgiveness would produce him an heir. If Forgiveness won, Wrath would leave Sukale forever. Wrath won. So Forgiveness gave Wrath a child. The act of birthing said child caused the Great Cataclysm, for the child fell onto Sukale and nothing could survive the impact. They name the child Judgement. A second wager was placed: Humanity would get another chance. This time, Judgement would roam Sukale and live as a human. Judgement would decide if humanity was good. If he deems humanity good, Forgiveness wins. If he deems them bad, Wrath wins again. Carthum is viewed as a saint; "Judgement's Scout".

Downstirism: The Grand God died in 0 AC. Not much is known of him, but he created the world and ruled over it until his death caused the Great Cataclysm. In his stead, he planted a seed. This seed would grow to become the Downstir family tree. Downstirism has 8 gods:
Downstir, god of war
Downstir II & III, gods of stability
Downstir IV, god of peace
Vican, god of stone
Urok, god of truth
Vican II, god of life and protection
Cyra, god of death and blood

The religion splits into two sects: one side believes that Gervard is a Saint sent by Downstir to end the reign of Cyra. The other side believes that Gervard is a demon sent to chop down the Downstir family tree.

Downstirism is looked down upon in Kale and Balford, but finds an audience outside of that.
The Trio
Atheism
Cataclysmites: The Great Cataclysm was an event where the heavens opened and swallowed all of the world's good and true inhabitants and transported them into paradise. The unworthy were turned into Yaginetti, snow and sand. Another Cataclysm is coming, and it will be glorious.
Major Cities: Kale, Edgemoth, Balford

Kale is the capital, Edgemoth is a coastal city mainly known for fishing and importing/exporting, Balford is a highly religious city (The Trio) and also claims to be the birthpace of Carthum the Great. Balford is located in the southeast.

Leader: King Corvard VII of House Fairreach

Banner: Black and Gold Mammoth
Major Cities: Damnwell, Jequel City in the South, a wealthy merchant city, Druma and Farma, the twin coastal cities known for fishing and exporting/importing.

Leader: King Riddock II of House Hamthem

Banner: Blue and Sliver Star
Broken Vow River: River that runs from the Northern Mountains all the way down to the southern tundras. Named such after several betrayals and incidents occurred along it.

Frostfort: ancient home of Carthum line now a strategic fort along the west side of Broken Vow River. Agreed to be a neutral area occupied by troops of Yukale and Jequel.

Carthum Statue: Statue of an artist's rendition of Carthum the Great. Stands as a sign of peace outside of Frostfort, overlooking Broken Vow River.

Northern Outpost: The first neutral site, created to watch the mountains and defend against Yaginetti attacks. Occupied by the neutral Coalition of Mountain Rangers, which is made up of volunteers and soldiers from both east and west. It is in the north, on both sides of the river.

Gervar Tower: Last neutral site, on the east side of Broken Vow River in southern Sukale. A tower created for the purpose of keeping the history of Sukale. Scholars from both sides of the river come to study, teach, and debate.

The Trio Temple: Huge Temple in Balford, employs much of the city. The High Forgiveness Priest resides here.

Eastern Wind Castle: Grand castle where the King of Yukale rules from in Kale

Hamthem Castle: Grand castle where the King of Jequel rules from in Damnwell

This should be very interesting, I'm very much so getting involved, I believe a discord server for the purpose of all this information and for easier discussion about the world would be a good idea.
