Dontos Estley

572917

Nicknames/ Titles:

Lord of the Korkari

Warden of The Rock

Guardian of the Bay of Estley

Age (as of 200 A.C.): 42

History:

Dontos was born and raised in his home province, not even venturing beyond its walls for the first 15 years of his life. His first time out of Estley Lands was at the age of 16, journeying his father Lord Boros to the capital. All the while he was reminded by his father that all that they saw in the capital and on the journey was alien, a culture and way that was not their own. This is something that had been instilled in him from an early age, and as such his experience of the capital was largely a negative one, a decadent sprawling metropolis, filled with soft and dishonourable people.

At the age of 18 he was married to Esla Mulhill, the daughter of the Lord of the Mulhill Tribe, one of the larger tribes in the Korkari Highlands, this sort of marriage occured every few generations, further securing the bond between the tribes and the Estleys. The marriage proved fruitful, with Esla bearing 3 children and Dontos was very much in love with his Korkari bride, being kindred spirits, hunting and travelling the realm together. Unfortunately with the birth of their third and youngest child, she died in complications of childbirth. He has remained unwed since the death of his wife, throwing himself into matters of state and ruling.

Dontos has been the head of House Estley for some 20 years now. This has largely been a time of peace, during which he has continued to build the fortunes of the house, investing the booming trade and tax income on reinforcing the infrastructure both civic and military of his Lands. At this moment in time the question of succession appears to be quite safe, he currently has 3 as of yet unmarried children who he is the process of getting married off, an eye on trying to forge alliances with external houses, something that has been incredibly hard to come by given House Estley insular nature, marriages rarely occurring outside of other Korkari noble families. Dontos recognises that this is a time of change however, with a fluctuating political situation that will require a more even handed touch, seeking potential allies amongst more like minded houses, with his gase turning northwards.

Personality:

Dontos is a harsh, but fair man, ruling his domain with an iron fist, in accordance with the law of the Land. He is also a blunt man, preferring direct action, and avoiding honeyed words, coming across as blunt and unkind to those who don't know him, or the Korkari people.

He has kept a close eye on the events occurring in the capital, the dying king with no kin to carry on the family name. This could finally be the chance to breakaway and reclaim the Korkari's long sought after freedom, whether doing this alone or in support of another House's Claim. On the other hand however there are whispers of his own bid for power and control, it was only 2 generations ago that the then Lord Estley was gifted the hand of the King's youngest daughter, it's not a strong claim by any means, but if the old king was to pass away, then he would have a claim backed by blood, and the stubborn Lord Estley is not known as one to shirk away from something should he covet it. He is willing to raise all of the Tribes and Houses under his command, and to secure their borders through any means, giving the independence to his people that they have all craved so badly.

Stats- (BIG NOTE: For the purpose of settling disagreements, all characters have the 3 stats seen below. One with +2, one with +1, and one with 0. Nicknames/ Titles:
Heir to the Rock
Commander of The Hearth Guard

Age (as of 200 A.C.): 22

History:

First born of Lord Dontos, he has been raised as the heir presumptive since he first drew breath. He has inherited the Estley genes, and very much has the blood of the Korkari running through his veins standing at 6”2, with the strength of 3 lowlanders, or so the rumours at court go. He spent his formative years training under the Master of Arms of The Rock, as well as the members of court, and as was tradition squired for his father.

Most recently he has assumed command of The Hearth Guard, as in keeping with tradition, the eldest Estley son taking command of this elite force, which also serves as the Household Guard in times of peace. As such despite his youth he has extensive military training, having led this formation for 4 years now, assisted by the veteran commanders and warriors who have served for most of their lives.

Now at the age of 22 he is quite overdue a wife, however he trusts his father’s judgement, stating that in the upcoming days of strife, an unmarried heir can be a most powerful bargaining tool.

Personality:

In Boros, Dontos has a son who is not too unlike him, though perhaps lacking quite the cunning that his father has. What he does share however is his independent streak, and his firm belief in returning House Estley and the Korkari to the great heights that they enjoyed historically.

He has a good relationship with his father, they are of similar temperament, being level headed and stoic, spartan in their tastes and dress. He is not unkind, getting on well with the men under his command, but like his father he is blunt and forthright with his opinions, rarely mincing words.

Meric Estley

Nicknames/ Titles:
Champion of the Korkari

Age (as of 200 A.C.): 20

History:

Meric has always been the black sheep of the family, obtuse and difficult even by Korkari standards. As a new born he did not cry, he did not shriek, he did not wail, he simply stared with those dark, near dead brown eyes. As a child he kept himself to himself, avoiding the company of others, and showing little interest in study. The only person who he had any sort of bond was the Castle Castellan, Morton Hunter, an aged Korkari Tribesman and victor of a thousand fights. As he grew older he grew increasingly isolated, and his temper grew worse, injuring several sparring partners, the last being left near dead. His father despaired, as the second in line to the throne Meric was still too valuable to simply marry off to some distant family, or to send him to some distant land as a mercenary. At the same time to shut him up in a library or dusty corner of the castle would result in a great deal of grief. An alternative was found, he was given to the Tribes, specifically Tribe Hunter, which Castellan Morton belonged to. As such Meric has spent 6 years with the Korkari tribes (A diplomatic masterpiece on his father’s part, further strengthening the bonds between House Estley and the Korkari Tribes) fighting and living alongside them in their villages and hamlets. Over time his physical prowess has exceeded all that he has encountered amongst the tribes, and he has assumed the mantle of ‘Champion of the Korkari’, a title that is passed to the one who is deemed to be the greatest warrior amongst them, the title is not hereditary, and any tribesman can challenge for it, the challenge being highly ritualised, with set weapons and location. These challenges are rarely to the death, but accidents have been known to happen. Meric has held this title for 6 months now, with 4 challengers left defeated.

He is also married to Kasgard. The daughter of the Chieftain of Tribe Hunter, however they have no children at this moment in time.

Personality:

Meric is headstrong, arrogant, and boisterous. Essentially lacking any of the poise and stoicism of his brother and father. He is an accomplished warrior, his weapons of choice being an axe and a short sword, in one on one combat he is a force to be reckoned with, skilled with axe and blade, and physically strong combined with his heavy armour, furthermore he does not fight with honour, but instead to win, through underhand means if necessary. However he has little formal education, and no experience of leading larger formations, or rulership given his upbringing.

He is quick to anger, and occasionally pig headed, described by his father as something of a blunt instrument, simply point at your foes and let him do the rest, just make sure to stop him once he is done with them, once his wrath is unbridled. His family relationship is quite cold, there is no outright anger or hatred between them, it is just that Meric is particularly insular. He and his sister have something of good relationship, when they were younger it was she that was able to calm his terrible moods.
This is not to say that he does not love them however in his own way. If they were to be threatened in any way, or if they were to be taken, he would see this as a great afront, and his wrath would be unbridled.

Stats- (BIG NOTE: For the purpose of settling disagreements, all characters have the 3 stats seen below. One with +2, one with +1, and one with 0. Age (as of 200 A.C.): 18

Elwyn Lidall
latest

Nickname/Titles:
Lord of Crescent Hallows, The 49th King's Ranger, Protector of Forests, Head of the Lidall Family
Age:
46
History:
Born in Crescent Hallows to Elowen Lidall and Rosalina Martis, Elwyn lived with his family for 13 years before managing to shoot his first bear and proving himself worthy enough to build his own house and live on his own. However, instead of settling in Crescent Hallows, marrying a nice girl, and learning how to be a lord, Elwyn wanted to see new sights. He wanted to make a name for himself in the Capital and experience new things before becoming Lord of the Hallows. So he packed his bags and left home with a letter from his parents. It was there, in the Castle at the heart of the kingdom, that he met and fell in love with the Queen at first sight. He was 13. She was 23 and married. But none of that mattered to Elwyn. Love was love.

He joined the kings army as an archer and worked his way up the ranks to get closer to his Queen. Given his name, and his skills, it was a smooth sailing path. He became the captain of the Royal archery units at 15. At 17, he became the 49th King's Ranger (2nd youngest in the history of the kingdom). He managed to serve the King and the Queen for 5 years before his father died of illness. As his father's only son and heir, Elwyn was duty-bound to take on the role of Lidall Family Head. Requesting leave from his position as King's Ranger at the age of 22, Elwyn returned home to comfort his distraught mother and to tend to family affairs.

Having lived in the Capital for 12 years, and neglected his lordship training in his younger days, Elwyn had a steep learning curve ahead of him. Fortunately his mother, the Head of the Silver Arrows, and Lady Chryslle Vance (a young priestess of the forest) had been there to support and guide him through the process. It was during this time that he fell in love with Chryslle, who he married 2 years later. She bore him two girls, Jelena and Iva. However, 10 years later she would die, leaving Elwyn to raise the girls on his own (with his mother's support). He refused to marry again despite many offers.

Elwyn served as the Lord of Crescent Hallows for 24 years, protecting the forests and the people of his land, until the death of the King (without an heir) caused him to be invited back into court. As the former King's Ranger, and head of an ancient and noble family, he clearly had a say in who the next ruler ought be.

Personality:
Traditional, serious, loyal, proud, stubborn, protective, pragmatic, principled. These are the personalities that make up Lord Elwyn of Crescent Hallows. He is an environmentalist, partly due to his former wife's views, and partly because he wishes to preserve the lands that belonged to his father, grandfather, great grandfather, and so on. He's grown to love it. The trees. The land. The people that live on that land. From hunters, to foresters, to lumberjacks, to miners. From the rich and haughty old families to the orphans that attend Lidall School of Archery. Unlike in his youth, he no longer has any desire to leave it and live elsewhere. The Hallows is his home. His father loved it. Chryslle loved it. How could he not?

Just like how he was raised, Elwyn taught his daughters how to hunt. How to string a bow. How to ride. It didn't matter that they were girls. They, or their husband, would rule Crescent Hallows after him. He wanted them to be prepared. To be strong. To carry on the family heritage. At the same time, there wasn't much he wasn't willing to do for them. Elwyn is incredibly protective of his girls and gives them more freedom than most fathers would when it comes to marriage.

Some people (mainly the factions following the Faith of the Unicorn) believe he is unambitious. That he should endeavor to take the crown for himself rather than search for another to swear allegiance to. However, he has no desire to rule. He knows how difficult it is. He's already got his hands full with the Hallows. If there's a reason he's going to the Capital, it's to see how the Queen who stole his heart away all those years is doing with the death of her husband. Politcs and debating about who the next heir should be isn't really his thing.

Jelena Lidall
1385974682892.jpg

Nickname/Titles:
The Fower of the Forest, Eldest daughter of Lord Elwyn Lidall, Heir of the Lidall Family, Crown Princess of the Hallows (mainly by followers of the Faith of the Unicorn).
Age:
22
History:
The eldest daughter of Elwyn Lidall and Chryslle Vance, Jelena lost her mother when she was 10 years old, a tragedy that would shape her into the very woman she is today. With her father as the head of the family and busy ruling Crescent Hallows, Jelena felt she needed to step up to the plate. To fill the void left by their beautiful mother and protect the family in her own way. She and her little sister had always been close. Only two years apart, they were inseparable while their mother had been alive. Did everything together, from studying, to hunting practice, to showing the boys in the Hallows a thing or two about what girls could do.

However, after their mother died, Jelena's attitude started to change. Not in a bad way, per say...just less "fun". She started to spend more time with her grandmother. Sewing, knitting, cooking, dancing, music, art, fashion, all those girly things one would expect from a lady of the court, of a Lady of the Hallows, she suddenly took an interest in. She became serious in her studies. The "perfect daughter" so to say. She knew her father had a lot on his plate and endeavored not to be a burden. To help where she can and cover the grounds he couldn't.

The title Flower of the Forest isn't just for show. Not only does she dress the part of an elegant lady, she's charmed a good many men and women in the Hallows with her grace and good acts. She's planted trees with the old priests of the forest. Said prayers with the faith of the Unicorn. Visited orphans. Donated to miners. It's little wonder she is adored by the people of the Hallows, possibly even more so than her father who is strict on his laws and principles.

She was 16 when she first appeared in the court. Banquets hosted by the royals or other influential houses. Tourneys. She attended quite a few, though rarely stayed longer than she had to (as long as politeness dictated). She often went in the company of her grandmother or her cousin who lived in the Capital(since her father was often busy with Hallows matters and her sister couldn't be bothered to in most cases). Men flirted with her. Many found themselves turned down. She had her secret dalliances here and there, of course, though rarely anything serious (nothing that could get her pregnant). It was enough that she was able to make and maintain contacts.

By 20, there were whispers about her lack of marriage. Some thought there was something wrong with her. Some thought her father was rejecting offers because he was saving her for some big political move. Jelena neither confirmed nor denied the rumors. She simply continued to do her duties as his eldest daughter and the Lady of the Lidall House (since her father has refused to remarry). Oversees the daily operations of Lidall Castle. Assists her father in many decisions regarding the land and people of Crescent Hallows. Manages the finance of their house and lands . Keeps an eye on the various organizations within the Hallows as well as an ear in the Capital and neighboring lands. Jelena takes after her mother in appearance, armed with her grandmother wit and knowledge regarding the politics and affairs of the kingdoms.

Recently she's been having more and more contact with the Faith of the Unicorn.

Personality:
Sweet. Generous. Obedient. Gentle. Cunning. Shrewd.

Iva Lidall
bf60acf7cd658ce7528f5b646a0d1e2e--fanart-the-witcher.jpg

Nickname/Titles:
Leader of the Silver Arrows, the second sister, Queen of the Bow.
Age:
20
History:
Taking after her father instead of her mother, Iva had never been one to settle for a dull life. The blood of a hunter runs thick in her. While she and her sister Jelena once shared a close relationship, they ended up taking different paths to protect the family. Dolls and dresses weren't her thing. Rather she spent much of her free time around the Lidall School of Archery and Hunt. Coerced her father to teach her some of his techniques. The Head of the Silver Arrows as well. Liam Remford (Head of the Silver Arrows at that time) was her best friend since her sister no longer played with her. She admired him. Wanted to marry him. Iva knew she wanted to be a Silver Arrow when she grew up.

At 10, she already proved remarkable archery skills compared to other boys her age.

At 14 she "hunted" her first bear and joined Crescent Hallows military.

At 15, she got a bird from 1000 feet in the sky and was officially welcomed into the Silver Arrows (though she hung around them enough that she was already pretty much an unofficial member).

Riding. Tracking. Swordsmanship. Stealth. She learned a lot while serving in the Silver Arrows and proved herself one of its best members despite being a girl. It was how she always wanted to serve her family. She became the Head of the Silver Arrows at the age of 18 when Liam retired after his wife passed away.

Her appearances in court were few and far in between (just once or twice when her sister insisted). She came to an archery tourney in the Capital once. That was where she earned the title 'Queen of the Bow'. She was offered the position of as the 50th King's Ranger after winning, but declined.

Personality:
Independent. Blunt. Straight-forward. Stubborn. Competitive. Loyal.

Rosalina Lidall (Formerly Rosalina Martis)

Nickname/Titles:
Lady Lidall, Mother of Lord Elwyn Lidall, Protector of the Forest (sometimes just shortened to 'Mother of the Forest' or 'Lady Mother' by the folk of Crescent Hallows), The Unbending Oak.
Age:
72
History:
Formerly Rosalina Martis, she was bethrothed to Elowen Lidall at the age of 12, but didn't officially marry him until she was 18. He was 30 at the time. They had many good years together. Due to complications, and relationship issues , she didn't bear him a son until 8 years after their marriage. A true gentleman, Elowen never forced her until she was ready. She became a widow at the age of 48 when her husband died of illness. She helped to guide her son in his early years of ruling the Hallows. She helped raise her granddaughters after her daughter in law died, though had a greater influence on Jelena's upbringing than Iva's. Nowadays she spends more time with the old forest priests, though her sharpness has yet to decline. She still commands a lot of respect in the Hallows, especially among those who still remember her fierceness.

Bryce Ambercrown

af2496dd8fab581a2c713b087bf2f559(2).jpg

Nicknames/ Titles: Lord and Warden of the North; "The Young Hawk," "The Young King

Age (as of 200 A.C.): 17

History: Bryce was born the first son of Hareth and Mya Ambercrown. As such, it was his duty to lead his people upon his father's death. He was trained in the arts of war, of steel and cunning. Though he never received much training in leadership, as his father believed the boy should learn on his own. The years went on, and Bryce became a fine man. Tall, strong, brave, if a bit shy. He never left the North for most of his life, until his mother went down south to see her family at a tourney. Like most Northerner's, Bryce absolutely despised it. Full of Lord's who were only men by virtue of what they had in their trousers, Lady's who sat all pretty in their poofy dresses, wasting their time sitting around instead of doing their duty to their family. A bunch of snakes, all of them. The Korkari highlands? He loved them. He visited them for a time, and fell in love with it and it's people. But duty soon called. His father died on a hunting trip, like his father's before him, and Bryce took his place as Lord of Hawk's Rest.

Personality: Bryce is, for all intensive purposes, the perfect Northman. Strong, intelligent, brave. Not the best leader due to his age, however. He is incredible humble, owing his position in life to chance, and his power to his people. He values many things, family and loyalty chief among them. He would do anything for his family, be they by blood or not. He's loyal to a fault, his natural Ambercrown stubbornness often getting him into more bad situations than good. He's prone to rash decisions, even if he is quite intelligent, and his natural shyness means that he has a bad case of foot in mouth syndrome.

Connor James McKinley
573274

Nicknames/ Titles: Peasant Lord, Noble Farmer,

Age (as of 200 A.C.): 22

History: A farmer's son, Connor's path to nobility began on the battlefield. He was set to hold down the flank with his comrades when is commanding officer died due to a lucky, stray arrow. Of course, he didn't know about his commander's demise, but he did know what his last orders were. He was told to hold the line, so hold the line he would do. But he certainly wouldn't do so alone. He rallied the men around him, cursing those that showed their back to him, and held the flank. The result of the battle was a loss, however, as a light infantry regiment somehow managed to sneak around and buckle the opposite flank, but that did not mean that his actions went unnoticed.

From there he was promoted to officer, then captain, followed by general, until finally he stood (albeit awkwardly) in the King's Court and being given the title of Lord and a parcel of land.

Personality: Connor is a man that thinks the title "lord" is a load of rubbish. People come to him with problems they have the answer to just so he can tell them that they're right. Not only that, he knows what it's like to be on the opposite side of the lord/peasant relationship. This knowledge causes him no small amount of stress over every decision that will affect them. Luckily, he has Chapter Master Bryne, the Order of the Maple, and his Steward Micheal, to help him, if only a little.

Nicknames/ Titles: The Bloody-Handed, The Red Wolf, High King of Alrhion

Age (as of 200 A.C.): 54

History: The character's personal history.

Personality: A man of singular focus, commitment, and sheer will. Peryn's reputation for severity earned him a lengthy list of alternative nomenclature, the most popular of which are "The Bloody-Handed" and "The Red Wolf". Skytha Macfjerd Morn Chalhain, Hand of Daenu, the Iron Druid, Queen of Alhiron
4d35bfc1ef5fce97861f8b49ac3ebb05.jpg

Even in modernity, there are those who whisper in hushed tones about Queen Skytha. The Ban-Drui are an arcane, secretive sisterhood who sit at the right hand of the Goddess. Even stranger was that Skytha was already married when Peryn made himself known to her, and married to another woman, no less. Skytha and her wife, Aielfa, each tasked the handsome and stern hero-king with three trials, as was tradition. Each trial is intended to test the mettle of mind, body, and spirit. When Peryn returned triumphant, albeit missing a finger, Skytha became one of the two queens of Alhiron.
Aged forty-nine years, she is no less a warrior than her husband, known for defending sacred standing-stones from apostates and watering the roots of the Elder Tree with blood come Salhein. She is witty as a fox with the hair to match, with the mothering attributes of a surly cave bear.

Aielfa Mornac Mac Chalhain, The Scarlet Lady, She Before Whom Evil Breaks, Witch-Queen of Alhiron
49c0c20a7b95b9a959098fe80b3fc0ef.png

Among the Ban-Drui, there are those rare few entrusted with the secret truths of their faith. Aielfa was one such woman. She had all but grown up among the Ban-Drui, taken in when consumption laid her family and village in the ground. There, she met Skytha, a fearsome and generous woman, and was for the first time in her life, smitten to speechlessness. Consider her surprise when a scarred prince came to them under the shadows of the Elder Tree, seeking their blessing to put down rebellion, and was equally smitten a second time.
While Skytha and Peryn are the fighters, neither can hold a candle to the ferocity of Aielfa. She knows the secrets of the body, the mind, and the spirit. She can break a person without a single draw of the knife, yet she could not break Peryn. Aielfa is a secretive and observant woman, an owl among the hawk and eagle that are her partners.

Firstborn of Aielfa and Peryn, thirty-four year old Aldhelm is a large man with temperament akin to his parents. His dour sobriety made the grim region of Cromroch a fine fit. He takes his joy in equestrian sports and hunts when he isn't overseeing the ironclad city of Cromroch as its acting Thegn, reputed as a peerless warrior in the saddle and a champion jouster. Aldhelm's stables are host to the sturdy Alrhion Destrier, a fine horse for heavy cavalry.

Athelglyth Morn MacChalhain, the Lioness

There will ever be the bard-songs of Athelglyth, too young even for her Maiden-Braid at the time, besting all the lords and their hounds in the Wild Hunt, felling the champion stag with a single toss of her spear. From an early age, she had the eyes and hearts of the people. While she may not bear the elfin beauty of some of her sisters, she possesses a skill for what would be considered solely masculine arts in the mainland. While her brother, blood-brother Aldhelm bears the title of Thegn in Cromroch, she makes sure the cogs of the proverbial machine run. She's not afraid to get her hands and royal kefta dirty. Hardly thirty, she's as an imposing suitor as any from Chalhain stock.

Craedric Mac Morn Chalhain, The Wild

Skytha thought herself blessed when she first learned she was bearing twins. Craedric and his twin brother, Cnebba, strained such notions. Craedric is the largest of Peryn's children, a head and a half over even Aldhelm, with all the restraint of a rabid wolverine. He's a man of the moment, guzzling ale by the keg and keeping copious company of both sexes each night. Those who called him out quickly found themselves on the wrong end of his viscous spear, their head mounted along a road. Thirty-three years old, Craedric shows no aspiration for the finer crafts of the Triat Throne, happy among the ranks of the Fenhironach.

Cnebba Mac Morn Chalhain, The Wise, Thegn of Scirbroch

Cnebba, unlike his brother - or perhaps due in part to his brother - is a master of restraint. With a mind as sharp and swift as an adder, he was often the one to hatch the mad schemes, and Craedric was always the right one to carry them out. Of all the Chalhain Clan, Cnebba is the most worldly, dressing himself in fashions seen in the mainland. He is a moderate swordsman in his own right, but his mind is one for strategy and treaty.

Mardrith Mac Morn Chalhain, The Scholar

Firstborn daughter of Skytha, she takes after her blood-brother Cnebba in her studies. Twenty-three years of age, though her ageless quality would make her seem far younger, she is fluent in seven languages; she's studied in arithmetic, astrology, philosophy, and phisiology. She is a striving scholar in her own right, putting her at odds with her myth-mired culture.

Amicia and Elyssia Morn MacChalhain, the Kithain

The birth of the Golden Triplets was a cause of great celebration throughout Alrhion. To this day, they are famed figures as their sagas only continued to grow. Amicia and Elyssia are hauntingly identical. When matched with their elf-like complexion, they have frequently been called fae-tricksters by tutors, cooks, siblings, and dignitaries. For their twenty-five years, they haven't separated from each other, and even now take their preparation as aspiring Ban-Drui together. Both are wicked with a bow and possess a unique kindred quality with beasts.

Theodric Morn MacChalhain, the Huntsman

One could not expect the third of the Golden Triplets to be so different from his sisters. Theodric, of all of Peryn's sons, is most like his father. His ferocity is tempered with willpower, guided by an unbiased valor and predatory focus. Like his blood-brother Craedric, Theodric trained with the Fenhrionach while also subject to the lessons of tutors and siblings alike. Unlike Craedric, however, Theodric is saddled with a thirsting ambition and drive. For this, peasant-gossip says he carries the star-sword of his forebears. It is said that in a duel of mettle, Theodric slew his foe by throwing his spear with his foot.

Meloda Mac Morn Chalhain

Only a girl of seventeen, Meloda is still discovering her place and how that fits in with the world at large. She is closest to her her bond-brother, Theodric, and her blood sister, Athelglyth, and has taken to the hero-tales of the bards.

Nicknames/ Titles: Lord Veritun, The Vampire of Veritun, Lord of Torture, Blooletter, Warlock

Age (as of 200 A.C.): Forty-three

History:
The second of the four born sons born to Lord Raynard Veritun, who was a widely beloved man despite his blood and profession due to his happy, jovial nature. Yet Isidore was everything Raynard was not. A terror for the servants of Gorrikhal, Isidore would often be found torturing animals and people later on. Many in Rima, including his own half brother and children believe he killed his brothers, though not to take control of House Veritun, but to see if he could do it.

Isidore is a widely reviled high lord outside of Rima, and is often a source of fear and hatred for those who despise House Veritun and it's ways. Known across the land as "The Vampire of Veritun", due to his particular interest in torture and the terrible rumors of his partaking in the blood of the young to sustain himself, Isidore is a dark genius when it comes to torture, able to play the screams of agony into an almost melodic sound, as Isidore pokes and prods their bodies with terrible machines of his own invention, all this not to extract any information or punish the wicked, but simply to use them for his own, horrible ends. When he has to return a prisoner, be they of high birth and noble accolades or the smallest of peasants, they will return, yes, but only men that were shadow of the sons and bannermen that had gone out to war, scarred and damaged almost beyond recognition will return. For what ends Isidore uses his captives, nobody but Isidore and his prisoners know, and the ex prisoners will never speak of the experience, often committing suicide or going mad after coming home.

Personality: A grim, cold, sadistic man, Isidore's seemingly only pleasure is bringing pain an agony to others. Outside of this, Isidore has surprisingly little ambition, desiring nothing more than the gold his family pulls in from mercenary work and the freedom to torture as he pleases. Despite his lack of ambition, Isidore is surprisingly good in the art of statecraft and leadership.

Nicknames/ Titles: Lord of Swords, Swordmaster, Lord of Contracts, Bastard Lord, The Bastard of Morning

Age (as of 200 A.C.): Thirty-four

History: The bastard son of Lord Raynard Veritun and a scullery maid, and the half brother of Lord Isidore Veritun, Crispin has lived his entire life within the shadow of men who would consider themselves his superior, be they his lady step-mother or his four true born brothers, the worst of which being Isidore. Power has always been refused to him, be it his name or his station, Crispin hated how it never earned him the respect he felt entitled to. Now, Crispin has risen to the highest station he can attain as a bastard, the Lord of Contracts and Swords for House Veritun, but it simply isn't enough for him. He desires, no, needs real power, the power only one thing can give him.
A crown.

Personality: Crispin is cunning, skilled, and above all, ambitious, willing to do nearly anything or say nearly anything to obtain power, no matter the cost. Despite this, Crispin is a competent leader and a skilled tactician.

Tenebrous Corvus

Appearance:

Beauty can only get you but so far in the world, but that never stopped him from taking care of his appearance. Tenebrous has a soft, mocha skin tone and smooth skin, thanks to his genes. He stands at an astounding, six feet tall thanks to both of his parents being fairly tall. Unlike his father, Tenebrous never did much physical activity, so his form is slender. A thin, lithe body is what he gained from his years of study and practice. Two narrow arms lead down to thin fingers with ruined nails. A bad habit he developed as a child. A pair of skinny legs are one of, Tenebrous' greatest features. Despite their length and lack of muscle or fat, he manages to move carefully and gracefully on his stilt-like legs. Though most people would swear, Tenebrous takes after his mother, he is actually a perfect blend of his parents when it comes to appearances.

His strong face is crafted by a square jaw. Wide and prominent, Tenebrous' jaw is key in the structure of his face. He makes sure to keep a clean shave, allowing his jawline to always be visible. A pair of proud cheekbones add to the shape of Tenebrous' countenance. Although they're more subtle than his jaw, his thin cheeks give them a bit more emphasis. His eyes are a rich shade of brown which can sometimes seem mesmerizing when hit by the light. He has his mother's eyes; round, cold, and harsh. Accented by thick, long lashes and neat eyebrows. A narrow nose trails down to a pair of bow-shaped lips, which are often smirking or holding back laughter. Tenebrous' hair, much like his mother's is quite healthy and thick. The long strands of black stretch down to the base of his shoulder blades. Normally, his hair is styled to keep it from getting in his face. To that end, large braids adorn Tenebrous' head. At the base of his left palm, there is a small tattoo of a coin and a dagger. .

Usually, Tenebrous wears long coats that are tailored to his size. They have split sleeves which reveal his arms and the sleeves of the shirt which he wears underneath. The splits in his sleeves start in the crooks of his arms so that the sleeves hang down at his elbows. The coats are made of heavy materials and are quite warm. The coats flare out just a bit once you go below his waist, giving the fabric a free-flowing feel. A pair of leather pants are Tenebrous' go to, along with some black heeled shoes. However, on special occasions, he tends to wear pants of a softer material and in a variety of colors. At any given time, Tenebrous has at least four rings on. One on his right pinky and right thumb, with another one on his left middle finger and left thumb.

Nicknames/ Titles: Lord of House Corvus, Merchant King, The Black Fox, Lord Paramount of Zanzir

Age: 34.

History:

Born to a merchant family Tenebrous wanted for nothing in his youth. His father was Head of House Corvus and his mother was a former diplomat from across the seas. Their union secured House Corvus an heir as well as trade in foreign lands. Because he was more of a necessity than a desire for his father, Tenebrous didn’t receive much attention from the man and instead spent a majority of his youth under his mother’s guidance. It was she who opened his eyes to the world of espionage and taught Tenebrous everything he knows about being a spymaster. His adolescence was spent honing his skills and preparing to one day lead House Corvus.

When the day finally came for him to take charge Tenebrous didn’t hesitate or falter. He was only 18 and because he was much younger than his bannermen he knew he needed to make a statement. To that end he vowed to add to Zanzir’s legacy and its coffers, a promise his advisors helped him make good on. Shortly after he made sure to insert himself into the highest circles within the land so that his noble peers and the king would know he was determined play the great game. He would attend events in the lands of his allies, wipe out enemies of his house, and lose his mother years later. Despite the heartache Tenebrous continued to carry out his duties as a Lord and continued to compete on the political stage.

With recent developments regarding the King, Tenebrous has kept quiet, even more so than usual.

Personality:

There is a great deal more of, Sabine in, Tenebrous than there is, Jorin. It's thanks to the many years he spent with her. Because she has influenced him so, Tenebrous is very similar to his mother in personality, which is sometimes unfortunate for others. Early in life, Sabine taught her son how to make tough decisions, how to make and live with choices that might weigh on his conscious afterward. It's thanks to this advice that, Tenebrous was able to create the rules that govern, The Vulpes’ Blades. Sabine's teachings have made, Tenebrous a dangerous person, one who could and would commit dark deeds without a second thought. But, Tenebrous isn't focused on murder, not entirely. Instead, he prefers to outwit his foes and beat them with strategy rather than brute force. He's very quick-witted and is able to think clearly in a high pressure situation. Because his thoughts come to him so easily, Tenebrous is often very decisive. He can make up his mind rather fast and unfortunately he's a bit stubborn. Among all of his traits, the one that people most remember about Tenebrous, is how self-serving he can be. When it comes to safety, happiness, and overall well-being, there are very few people or things that he will put before himself. Such behavior likely came about thanks to, Sabine and her lessons. She taught her son to be duplicitous.

Socializing is something that, Tenebrous does rather well, with a false smile on. Pretending to be interested, friendly, or sympathetic is something that he has gotten used to. In truth, he has always disliked people, simple-minded people especially. Mediocrity and laziness annoy him beyond reason. Even other nobles are looked upon with disdain, plus he trusts them far less than he does any simple peasant. As such, Tenebrous trusts no one.
