Fantasy Nightmare Hunter Characters

JadeGreen17

Chimeric Spirit
Thread for posting characters and perhaps a bit of OOC discussion. I've copied all the information from your CSs into the op for convenience; if you need changes made, let me know.

OOC Discussion: Nightmare Hunter OOC
Main RP (I recommend reading through the lore and the hunter's journal): Nightmare Hunter

Note 1: I mentioned in the OP that Nightmare Hunter is based in a world of a book series I would like to eventually write. However none of the characters are for spoiler avoidance reasons. Since they are secondary NPCs; and the PCs are the main focus, I knew that I would end up having to come up with a lot of them on the fly as quickly as possible in order to flesh out the order. Because of this, I knew some of them might come off as archetypal or one-dimensional and decided since no matter what I did; that would be the case; to make it that every NPC's name an Anagram for their defining trait or role.

Epiphany's Character, Emmaline Steel.

A relatively open-minded ex-paladin of Arcadia who lost everything when she contracted vampirism after a brutal clash with a band of Traitorous Paladins, she now seeks the Hunter order; hoping to continue her mission to rid the world of evil, even if it's under a different banner.

Name: Emmaline Steele, Knight Banneret (Excommunicated)

Age: 25

Race: Vampire

Personality, likes, dislikes, hobbies, opinions and the likes: Emmaline is disciplined, genteel, well spoken and rather elegant thanks to her upbringing and training. She respects warriors, disdains cowardice, and stands the presence of evil only with a great act of will. Despite her Arcadian heritage and her beliefs, Emmaline's capable of setting aside her prejudices for the sake of the mission but makes no effort to befriend or learn about those who seem to embrace evil. The former Paladin is fond of horses, well-crafted weapons, chocolates and has a secret weakness for adorable small animals.

Backstory: Emmaline grew up desiring of the highest station achievable in Arcadia; that of the Paladin. Born as the third daughter to the Viscount of Corsica, there was little hope of inheriting her family's titles and lands and little interest for the young girl. After all, what was good in life was the perfection of humanity and nothing was more perfect in Arcadia than its Paladins. By the time she was a teenager, Emmaline had taken full advantage of her family's tutors and extensive connections in the Knighthood. She mastered the art of fencing, shooting, tournament riding and a host of the expected skills required for Arcadia's Finest. She swore her Oaths when she was eighteen, one of her proudest moments.

The newly created Paladin served with honor and distinction over the next six years, volunteering for the fiercest of clashes and the most brutal of hunts. Her passion for extinguishing evil was matchless save for her peers. After all, as a devout Nexicist, Emmaline knew that the wickedness of the Nex were responsible for all sin and suffering in the world. She rose swiftly in the ranks, attaining the respectable title of Knight Banneret before undertaking her most difficult and ultimately fatal campaign.

Tasked with exterminating a vampiric infestation in the border farming town of Tournefeuille, she and her peers fell victim to a fierce ambush by the Nex led by a former Paladin, Knight Commander Duchamps. Intent on creating his own Anti-Paladins, he imprisoned and infected his defeated former allies. His tactic drew a fierce response from the Arcadian Peerage, who sent a full battalion against him. In the end, the town of Tournefeuille was erased from the map, every Nex slain and turned to ash...and Emmaline managed to escape the flames into the night.

Her homeland was forever barred to her now. Vampirism was progressive, without cure. It was only a matter of time before the corruption within turned her into an instrument of evil. Emmaline grappled with the prospect of suicide for several months before resolving to travel by airship to join the only effective fighting force in the world that could still use her; the Nightmare Hunters. They trafficked with evils they didn't understand but at least in their service she might extinguish more evil before becoming evil herself.

NineTimes' characters, Alex de Vasques (Feather) and Charlie Konfust (Charlie)

An inseparable duo of Lycanthrope and Therianthrope who travel as rouges, sneaking food and supplies from local villages and living off the land. Feather doesn't hold the Order in the highest regard after being attacked on his second full moon, and has a not-so-secret passion for poetry. Charlie is... well they're a character to say the least.

Appearance:
Around 6"4' with big hands and a thin but muscular build. Feather got his nickname from his nearly white hair that sticks up in random directions but he somehow manages to keep a part. Soft brown eyes peek out from his bangs, his skin tone almost as dark as his eyes, say a light hazel. Feather often goes barefoot, but if necessary he will bear wearing sandals. He has dark blue pants that have some patches due to it being torn from time to time. He has a large beige shirt that is messily tucked with a huge darker beige patch in the back. Feather has a winding scar from his shoulder down to his wrist, another splitting his right eyebrow, he has a few small scars on his back, and then a scar where the lycanthrope bit him. He has a satchel in were he keeps a blade out of steel, a waterskin a few books and a journal with a cheap pencil.

-Name:
Alex De Vasques (Feather)
-Age:
21
-Race:
Lycanthrope (2) (Controlled)

-Personality, likes, dislikes, hobbies, opinions and the likes:
Feather tends to be quiet and reserved, though when in an argument his mind is set on ripping the other's argument apart, though he doesn't go as far as insulting the other. He tries his best to pay attention but is easily distracted if there is something better to do. He gives off an aura of kindness and warmth which he tries to live up to and tends to be passive and hard to anger. He likes warm blankets and strawberries, books, huge sweaters and marigolds. Feathers doesn't like, wearing close-toed shoes, bad smells, loud noises, dog whistles. He thinks that everyone deserves a second chance, but only if they are willing to change.

-Backstory:
Feather was born to a merchant couple, early on he was used to working to load carts, though he was never paid. He never went to school yet somehow learned to read, when he learned, he wouldn't stop, sometimes getting beatings because he was late to work. He rarely had time for friends, so he spent his free time in the forest. When he turned six he found an injured lycanthrope, when he tried to help them, the lycanthrope lashed out and bit him. On his first full moon he hid in the clock tower, where the keeper caught him with a spring, causing the scar. On his second full moon he ran into a few hunters and they crushed his vocal chords, rendering him mute.

Later he ran away from the town, traveling around and writing poems to recite in crowded places. He earned enough money through his poems to make a living in the streets. Feather continued to read and write and eventually learned sign language. He heard rumors about Alphonso's airship, though he never really let it affect him. Later he met his travel companion, Feather thinks that they are cool.

-Would your character prefer to play White or Black in a game of chess? Consider that white makes the first move and black gets to make judgement and strategize based on that move.

Black, so he can see what other moves his opponent might do based on that move, and then make his after deducting the best outcome.

-Would your character rather be seen by their peers as someone who was overconfident and boisterous or someone who was under-confident and shy?

Under-confident and shy.

-Would you consider your character more of a 'Jedi' or a 'Sith' in their philosophy on emotions; in where a Jedi tries to keep themselves calm and free of strong emotions and attachments while a Sith virtually bathes themself in passionate emotions and uses them to fuel their drive towards their goals (Bear in mind this emotion need not be negative)?

A Jedi exterior with a Sith inside, bottling up the emotions, but sometimes letting them wreck his mind.

-Your character has just gotten a brand new lego set! Do they build it by the instructions or take the parts out and build whatever they want?

Feather would start with the instructions and then start building his own thing.

-If your character could pick a new name for themselves that wasn't their current name; what would it be?

Anything that didn't end with De Vasques

(Hehehe I've reread charlie's bio out loud more times than I care to confess...)

Appearance:
Around six feet with a lanky build, fluffy blonde hair that is held back in a bun, with piercing orange eyes and dark skin. They wear a giant light orange jacket with a soft yellow shirt under it and handed down black shorts.

-Name:
Charlie Konfust (Confused) ("YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO INCLUDE THAT, I HAD NO SAY IN THAT." -goes off on a rant-)
-Age: 16 ("AND A HALF!")
-Race:
Therianthrope
-Personality, likes, dislikes, hobbies, opinions and the likes:

Loud, ("HEY!"), kind of a butt ("WAIT A MIN--"), probably the first person to die in a horror movie ("WELL I'LL LET YOU KNOW YOU PEICE OF--" "CHARLIE!"), does things in spite, no regard for danger, takes a long time to process, easily angered. Likes to pet fluffy animals, big clothes, eating ice cubes, sleeping, and knocking things over when told not to, stealing stuff ("I got a gold watch last time!" "Don't worry I made them give it back."). Dislikes being woken up from naps, loud annoying sounds, bright lights, bad smells, fish that has gone bad. They think that being a therianthrope is cool and everyone should be one. Also that the world needs a few fix ups and a balance between good and bad is the best way to do it.

-Backstory:

Charlie grew up on the streets and in homes for the homeless, usually getting hand-me downs from begging. When asked if they were a boy or a girl they would respond with neither and their pronouns, earning them the nickname 'Confused'. Later they met Feathers who was looking for someone to help recite poems. They've been stuck together ever since.

-Would your character prefer to play White or Black in a game of chess? Consider that white makes the first move and black gets to make judgement and strategize based on that move.

White, because Feather always plays black so they're used to playing white.

-Would your character rather be seen by their peers as someone who was overconfident and boisterous or someone who was under-confident and shy?

Boisterous and overconfident, I mean that's how everyone views them.

Sith, definitely Sith. ("Wait. . ." -takes a moment to process- "Aren't-- AREN'T THOSE THE BAD GUYS!?!?")

-Your character has just gotten a brand new lego set! Do they build it by the instructions or take the parts out and build whatever they want?

Charlie would just build a big block.

-If your character could pick a new name for themselves that wasn't their current name; what would it be?

None, they picked their own name and are pretty happy with it.

Daniel Reaving's Inseperable duo; Ariana and Jane.

Ariana was a normal girl; but when her Chakra spirit of Bitala awoke, she took on a most unusal form. Instead of an romantic partner, she manifested as Ariana's double, Jane. However, a good thing could only last so long, and eventually Paladins caught wind of this, and hunted the spirit as they would any being they considered Nex. The girls were forced to flee the city, and searched for refuge in the Order.

img_1439-jpg.352335

(Ariana left and Jane right)
-Name:
Ariana J Halor Jane R Halor

-Age: both 19 (looks to be around 13 or 14)

-Human? (Ha Werewolf/Werebear? Vampire: human/Arcadian (Jane is actually Ariana's chakra Bitala)

-Personality, likes, dislikes, hobbies, opinions and the likes:
Ariana is a sweet and inoccent girl still despite what has happened to her in the past. Sweet and caring to everyone she meets. Though concidered to be to trusting and easily manipulated though. Loves playing games and being around people she can trust. Loves cuddling and her sister she's just an all around innocent person. Shy when you first meet her she quickly warms up to people though. Despite her parents being paladins because of Janes true nature they made sure Ariana didn't grow up with the philosophies and ideas of Arcadians. Since there depart from there parents Ariana has devolved a need to cling to someone older than her weather they be male or female and treat them like her parents as a way to cope with the loss of there parents
Jane is very much the same but more mature and smart than her sister. Considered to be the safer one she's like Ariana's safety belt in away Bitala taking on this personality to keep Ariana out of trouble and safe.

-Backstory:
Ariana and Jane were born deep in the heart of Arcadia to there parents both being Paladins. Though when Ariana was born Jane wasn't there. Jane showed up two months after Ariana's birth. One night Ariana's parents were laying her down to sleep. Just as they were about to leave the room a bright glow came from Ariana's heart startling her parents. Quickly rushing over her parents witnessed as Bitala or Jane formed. Becoming an exact twin of Ariana the two decided to hide Janes true self from the paladins knowledge. There the 4 lived in peace Jane and Ariana growing up happily with there parents. Seeming to have stopped growing at the age of 13 they've looked the way they do since then.

Though there lives all changed when they reached the age of 19. On the girls birthdays the paladins came, having found out that Jane was Ariana's chakra... they came for the girls. Though there parents refused To give them up, having watched the girls grow and prosper they couldn't give up there kids... so they fought back. Running from the paladins they managed to get the girls out before they were Captured. Before they were taken Ariana's parents told them to find the nightmare hunters. Since then that's what they have been looking for. Through all they've been through Ariana still does not know Jane is actually Bitala the heart chakra.

-Would your character prefer to play White or Black in a game of chess? Consider that white makes the first move and black gets to make judgement and strategize based on that move: "Oh oh mommy always plays white and beats daddy I wanna be white!"

-Would your character rather be seen by their peers as someone who was overconfident and boisterous or someone who was underconfident and shy?: "well mama and papa always said I was a little shy around new people..."

-Would you consider your character more of a 'Jedi' or a 'Sith' in their philosophy on emotions; in where a Jedi tries to keep themselves calm and free of strong emotions and attachments while a Sith virtually bathes themself in passionate emotions and uses them to fuel their drive towards their goals (Bear in mind this emotion need not be negative)?:
"Mmmmm Sith!..... what's a sith again??"

-Your character has just gotten a brand new lego set! Do they build it by the instructions or take the parts out and build whatever they want?:
"Legos I love Legos! Let me play with them I wanna build stuff!!"

-If your character could pick a new name for themselves that wasn't their current name; what would it be?:
"B-but I like my name! Do I have to pick?!"

Name: Auron Carpathia
-Age: 24yrs
-Race: Half-Atlantian

-Personality: Auron has a strange air about him, his monotoned manner of speaking often making it hard to determine his mood. One would take him for a calm collected type if they didn't know him for longer than a few minutes. He is logical, yet rash. More often than not he acts before he thinks, yet he thinks quickly enough that he is never behind for too long. Surprisingly he holds no ill will towards monsters or hunters, despite his history with them. To many he comes off as prissy, arrogant, or lazy due to his disdain of anything difficult, or requiring effort. Yet he is none of those things...well perhaps a bit lazy.

-Backstory: Born to the human father Victor Carpathia, and his Atlantian mother Aurora Nequis, Auron seemed destined for great things. His father was a paladin of Arcadia, his mother the heir to a vast fortune. Yet Being born into a great family does not assure greatness, as he came to learn. His mother died giving birth to him. A few years later His father perished when Auron was still to young to remember him, apparently at the hands of one of his own allies after he was infected with lycanthropy. Auron was raised by their families Butler Alphonso. When he reached the age of 14 he joined the nightmare hunters, in an effort to fill his father's shoes. Despite his best efforts however Auron didn't seem cut out to be a hunter. His skill with a blade was phenomenal, made all the more potent by his atlantian genes. However he didn't have the necessary aggressive demeanor. He would invariably attempt to help the monsters and often found it difficult to kill them. Due to this he left the hunters when he was 19 years old. Having now inherited his mother's vast fortune he and his guardian Alphonso purchased an airship and began to travel in search of a means to better deal with the nightmares that he once hunted. Idealism is not meant to last forever however. During one of their ventures, While helping a Nightmare, Alphonso was slain as collateral damage when several hunters attacked the Vampire family Auron was helping. Having truly lost someone for the first time, Auron seemed to lose the light he once had. He reenlisted into the hunters and by greasing the right pockets was able to get his Airship and maintain his Independence as a hunter answerable to only a select few. He now seeks a crew with similar intentions to his own. More importantly he seeks those that have yet to lose hope, that one day the nightmares would be gone and no one else would need to be lost to them.

-Would your character prefer to play White or Black in a game of chess? White all the way, Auron almost always makes the first move, and he does so without fear of the consequences, he is very confident in his ability to take control of a situation by forcing other to react to his actions instead of vice versa.

-Would your character rather be seen by their peers as someone who was overconfident and boisterous or someone who was underconfident and shy? He doesn't see himself as overconfident... But he is. Shy is not something one would ever describe him as, yet boisterous isn't exactly accurate. He never seems to lose hope, but is quite stoic.

-Would you consider your charactermore of a 'Jedi' or a 'Sith' in their philosophy on emotions; in where a Jedi tries to keep themselves calm and free of strong emotions and attachments while a Sith virtually bathes themselves in passionate emotions and uses them to fuel their drive toward their goals(Bear in mind this emotion need not be negative)? He would lean more towards the sith. Though he is rational minded he greatly values emotion seeing it as a type of fuel for the spirit. He believes thatwithout emotion one would simply be a husk akin to a zombie.

-Your character has just gotten a brand new lego set! Do they build it by the instructions or take the parts out and build whatever they want? Going by the instructions first, afterwards He would tweak and improve it as he saw fit.
"Nothing is ever perfect, all things can get better if you try"

-If your character could pick a new name for themselves that wasn't their current name; what would it be? He is already in the process of changing it, he introduces himself Reese Alto. The name of an old friend from his early days as a hunter. He will only use his real name when he needs the status that comes with the Carpathia namesake.

-Name: Marcus Nieth
-Age: 22 years
-Race: Lycanthrope
-Personality, likes, dislikes, hobbies, opinions and the likes:
Marcus may never have been required to work as virtue of his birth, but odd enough isn't afraid of hard work. He's also strangely selfless, another contradiction to his upbringing, if he believes he can settle a situation by putting himself at risk he will. He wouldn't ask someone else to risk themselves unless he couldn't intervene. He attempts to be calm and calculating, but this state of mind can be shattered with a little pressure to the right areas. He's polite, but doesn't attach himself to people.

-Backstory:
Marcus was born into a wealthy yet unimportant family in an outlying town of Chespake, his family owned the towns flourishing logging company. He wasn't set to inherit the family business, but his future was relatively secure. That is, until a Lycanthrope broke into the family house when he was ten, it killed his older sister and wounded Marcus before the family guards put it down. To his families horror, Marcus tested positive for Lycanthropy shortly after, he wasn't kicked out of the family, but he was disinherited and no longer allowed to live in the family house. While still financially supported by his family, he undertook several forms of martial training, including a rare form of swordsmanship were the duelist fights defensively until they draw a small second blade midway through the fight. With his fathers financial support coming to an end, Marcus has actively chosen seek out the Nightmare Hunters.
(Unfortunately, Marcus is infected with a feral form of Lycanthropy, if he transforms, he'll have no control over himself)

-Would your character prefer to play White or Black in a game of chess?
Marcus starts with a reactive play style, he'd choose white however, allowing himself to prepare for the opponent. If the opponent has a similar play style, and the game breaks down into probing each others defenses, he'll go all in forcing a win or loss rather than a protracted battle

-Would your character rather be seen by their peers as someone who was overconfident and boisterous or someone who was under confident and shy?
Marcus tries to be seen as calculating, but his pride can make him overconfident at times. Though he is prideful, the last thing he wants to be seen as is boastful however, his pride is more of a personal affair, and he doesn't need to prove it anytime he can.

-Would you consider your character more of a 'Jedi' or a 'Sith' in their philosophy on emotions:
Marcus tries to follow the Jedi school of thought, believing that sharper, more concise actions are the way to solve problems. He often falls into the Sith category though, allowing his emotions to get the better of him.

-Your character has just gotten a brand new lego set! Do they build it by the instructions or take the parts out and build whatever they want?
Marcus would build the set to the letter, if he wanted to experiment they sell sets for that, this set has the pieces to specifically build whats in the instructions. There is no waste or want this way.

-If your character could pick a new name for themselves that wasn't their current name; what would it be?
Marcus has been struggling with this question as of late, seeing as he might very well have to choose a name in the near future. He has yet to find one he likes.

Would your character prefer to play White or Black in a game of chess? White. Strike first, strike hard and keep striking until the enemy is vanquished.

Would your character rather be seen by their peers as someone who was overconfident and boisterous or someone who was underconfident and shy? A proper Paladin strives to be more than either of those extremes. Mastery of self is essential if one is to be a master of extinguishing evil. All things being equal, it's always better to error on the side of confidence and direct action. Shyness is the path of indecision...which is exactly how evil can escape.

Would you consider your character more of a 'Jedi' or a 'Sith' in their philosophy on emotions; in where a Jedi tries to keep themselves calm and free of strong emotions and attachments while a Sith virtually bathes themself in passionate emotions and uses them to fuel their drive towards their goals? A Paladin uses their righteous fury to exterminate the Nex but they cannot be ruled by it. Discipline and virtue, more than steel, has won countless wars over countless years. Emotion is fuel but discipline is the engine it feeds, discipline which directs that passionate energy in moral, efficient ways.

Your character has just gotten a brand new lego set! Do they build it by the instructions or take the parts out and build whatever they want? Obey the instructions. If they were meant to be built freeform, they wouldn't have come with instructions.

If your character could pick a new name for themselves that wasn't their current name; what would it be? Likely a role model. A famous Paladin in history or recent memory. Perhaps a war hero. Or someone whose example she comes to respect and emulate.

-Name: Duncan "Duke"
-Age: 38 years
-Race: Human
-Personality, likes, dislikes, hobbies, opinions and the likes:
Duncan at first, may seem aggressive, obnoxious, arrogant and rude but...actually...yeah that about sums it up really. In the long run if you manage to gain his respect through battle and trust through conduct, he will be the most loyal and dependable person you'll ever meet, but until then he will probably annoy you by calling you things like weakling, cream puff, and small fry. He absolutely hates dogs or wolves as he had a bad experience with one at a young age(yes this includes lycanthropes). Duke is a trained pilot and driver of most anything and he can probably fix it too. Oddly enough he has a major love of fancy gourmet food and his hobby is cooking but if anybody tries to make fun of him about it he will attempt to rip your arms off.

-Backstory:
Growing up Duncan never had a family or friends. He never knew the feeling of love or freedom. All he ever knew were the feeling of the cage, shackles, and the chains. Since he could remember, he had always been a slave, forced to work to survive. He had lived in constant fear all his life of the sharp whips that could tear a line through flesh, searing with acute pain, and the threat of the slave owners ravenous dogs that would snap at the heels of slaves if they didnt move fast enough and even rip the slaves apart, killing them if they ever tried to run or disobey. Growing up in the volcanic Mines of Ridosi had his sculpted his muscles, hardened his skin, and worked his body to the bone. He was often noticed by all the other slaves and their owners for his superior muscle and impressive physique, so eventually he was sold off for a good profit, his new owner being a rich foreign man, a wealthy gangster name Mr. Ramone with many enemies, he needed loyal body guards to protect him. After travelling far to a new land he had never know before called Golden Rock Duncan was given nice clothing, a big warm room of his own to sleep, good food, beautiful women, and all sorts of other gifts. All he had to do was protect Mr. Ramone at all times and hurt anybody Mr. Ramone told him to hurt. At first Duncan was hesitant to do it, not liking the thought of hurting people the way he had been hurt but he eventually got used to it, and more so he began to enjoy it taking pride and confidence in his strength and power. The only thing that stayed the same was the cage, shackles, and chains. He and the rest of the slave guards were still forced to live with bars on their windows and doors, wear the shackles whenever they were within they were home at Mr. Ramones mansion, and sleep with the chains connected. It was a psychological tactic so that they would never forget, they were slaves. Mr. Ramone had given them good lives with anything they could want. But if they disobeyed him, he could return them back to their old pitiful lives. Duncan would rather die than to go back there. It wasn't until he met Silvia that he had hopes of living the life of something more than a slave. Silvia was Mr. Ramone's beautiful younger sister. At the time Duncan was around 22 years old, the youngest of the slave Guards and she was only two years younger than him. One day he was assigned to take her out to go shopping and he was posted to guard her. Duke was shy but Silvia quickly forced him to open up to her. It turned into more of a date and by the end of the day Duke was sure he was in love with her. About a year later, Silvia came back to Mr. Ramones mansion to visit and immediately asked if she could again be escorted around the town with Duke. This time they didnt go shopping. They instead rented a hotel room and spent the entire day embraced in one another. Later that night Silvia snuck into his room while he was sleeping and asked him to runaway with her since her brothers jealousy would never allow them to be together. She said that being with him was the happiest she had ever been and she couldn't imagine spending any more long days and months away from him. Duke didnt know what to do, he loved Silvia more than anything but he was loyal to Mr. Ramone and the thought of being caught and taken back to being a normal pitiful slave scared him more than anything else. In the end he turned her down and he refused to runaway. Silvia was hurt but she said she would find a way to convince him. No matter what. A couple of months later, all of the Slave Guard including Duke was called to come to Mr. Ramones courtyard. It was there he saw the most horrible vision of his life. Silvia was there, bloody, battered, and abused and chained up by her arms. Mr. Ramone explained that one of the other Slave Guard had heard everything when she had snuck into Dukes room. Mr. Ramone had told her if she ever came back to his home he would kill her and even though they both had betrayed him by sneaking around to be together, Duke was not going to be punished. But instead of staying away she had returned for Duke. When asked to runaway Duke had refused, stating loyalty was more important. Mr. Ramone had appreciated that but now Mr. Ramone was going to give Duke the chance to make amends for his original mistake by killing Silvia here and now. If he did it he could continue to stay there, and he would be promoted to the new head of the slave guard. But if he could not show true loyalty by killing her, Mr. Ramone would kill her anyway, and he would be sent back to being a poor pathetic slave again. The thought of it all made something in Duke snap. Not only his mind but his heart broke as he realized this was all his fault. If only he had run away she would be safe happy in his arms. But instead, he had chosen the path of a coward and now she was swinging from chains half dead. The same chains that had tied him down for his entire life. The chains. It was always about the chains.
It was a blur of blazing hot anger and the splattering of blood as the only thing he saw was Silvia hanging there, barely breathing. When he came back to his senses all of the slave guard were dead but Mr. Ramone was nowhere to be found. He quickly broke the chains and rushed Silvia to the hospital where the physicians did all they could. In the end she was stabilized but was stuck in a coma. Their was no telling when or if she would wake up but they had found a letter in her pocked addressed to Duncan. He opened and inside were papers giving him full freedom status. He was no longer a slave but a true citizen. Duke felt so ashamed that he left, vowing to never see his love Silvia again, he didn't deserve too be happy. Since then years have passed and Duke has never gotten over his mistake, taking out his anger by participating in underground fighting matches at night and during the day working as a hired mercenary, bounty hunter, and monster slayer. Eventually he found out about Mr. Ramones grizzly death but more than that, he had changed. He had died, yes but he had not stayed dead. Mr. Ramone had comeback as something else, something beyond monsters, life, or death. And so Duke was delighted at the the chance to track him down and kill him again.

-Would your character prefer to play White or Black in a game of chess?
Duke would choose black because being white makes you a panzi ass and if he felt like he was going to lose he would knock the board off the table and say checkers is stupid anyways.

-Would your character rather be seen by their peers as someone who was overconfident and boisterous or someone who was under confident and shy?
Duke would be seen as overconfident and boisterous then would ask you if your were born stupid for asking such an obvious question.

-Would you consider your character more of a 'Jedi' or a 'Sith' in their philosophy on emotions:
Duke would ask whats a sith? Then after explaining it to him he would ask if their were any around cuz they sound like they would be fun to get drunk and fight with.

-Your character has just gotten a brand new lego set! Do they build it by the instructions or take the parts out and build whatever they want?
Duke would build something completely random and probably stupid looking then he would boast its better than everybody else's because its unique and badass.

-If your character could pick a new name for themselves that wasn't their current name; what would it be?
Dr. Duke Knox, since he could fix any cry baby problem you think is bad by hitting you so hard you would realize your original problem, really isnt that bad.

Sith, definitely Sith. ("Wait. . ." -takes a moment to process- "Aren't-- AREN'T THOSE THE BAD GUYS!?!?")

-Your character has just gotten a brand new lego set! Do they build it by the instructions or take the parts out and build whatever they want?

Charlie would just build a big block.

-If your character could pick a new name for themselves that wasn't their current name; what would it be?

None, they picked their own name and are pretty happy with it.
