Newport City was beautiful in a strange way. If you lived in one of those high rise skyscrapers in the nicer parts the city lights are something else, if you lived closer to the streets you probably view the city differently. Over the last six months the level in crime has taken a notable increase, arson being the favourite amongst the new 3D gang, those led by the demons take pride in quirks or weapons that spit fire or cover buildings or people in flames.

This is just one example however. So much scum has flooded this fair city that police and fire fighters are constantly racing the streets, hospitals require protection from professional hero's. Newport is on the brink, but one man sees hope for these hellish streets. Richard Nohanson.

Hiring people he deems trustworthy to deal justice that should be dealt. People who will hunt down degenerates and leave them unable to lift a gun or throw a bottle of petrol through a window again.

Jay was one of those people, he was riding the underground rails heading towards the heart of newport, where the movers and shakers live where Nohanson's tower stands tall with the other eye sores.
Jay couldn't believe the money he had made working for Mr Dick (not that he would ever call Richard that in person...)

Patrolling at night dick would pay a grand. For each gang member subdued and taken to the police (or in worse circumstances handed off to the men in black vans who must work for Dick with how black and fancy the vans are) another grand.
Two weeks ago jay killed a rapist, dick gave the young man a five thousand dollar bonus. He had no time to reflect or even think about the murder... jay had been so busy he hasn't even been able to make social calls.
When Richard Nohanson sends you a text, you don't even reply. You just get to where ever he tells you to fast, or else those black vans might come to get you...

Jay read the text once more.
Nohanson tower, 9.00 pm
all of you are needed.

It was 7:45 pm... plenty of time. Hopefully the rest are making their way over as well.

Jay sent a text to the three people's who he had worked with previously.
Lilly white, Edwardo Cortez, and Akio Stoneheart.
"Hey it's J.
Just wanted to make sure I'm not the only one heading into the city tonight."
DarknessSama17 DarknessSama17 Castello Castello thefinalgirl thefinalgirl

Of course all of them would have gotten the message like he did at 11:am.
Doesn't hurt to be sure however...

Sparks flew in the tiny garage Ed had been staying in for the past few months. It smelled of oil and gasoline and got bitter cold during the winter months, but it was a safe place for the recent hero-turned-vigilante to stay; no cops suspect someone was sleeping in a car here. He worked with an old mechanic, but Ed mostly just worked on cars for fun and this hobby got him a stay in whatever they were working on. Ed loved when it was a cushioned car at the very least.

With his quirk, he could easily fix cars as if he was just sewing a t-shirt, it was effortless for him. With a simple turn of his palm, iron parts were easily bent back into place or dents relieved but he would need proper tools for anything made out of aluminum. Luckily, Ed's work mostly compromised under the hood where most of the workable bits for his quirk were, while the old man managed the exterior.

When his phone went off, Ed hesitated, thinking it was the phone company harassing him for another bill. Putting down his power tool and checking his phone, the lock screen indicated it was instead a text from a familiar employer. Ed quickly unlocked his phone, interested to see if he was being called onto duty. He breezed through the short text, memorizing every detail. He quickly grabbed his baseball cap and hero clothing, which really did not differ much from his mechanic ones.

"You leaving Ed?" The old Mechanic asked, who had just about finished coating a car in paint.

"Yeah. I'll finish up late tonight."

The old mechanic shrugged. "Whatever, not like I pay you to work anyway. Keep safe, times aren't easy for folks like yourself, god knows I need a fella like you to stay alive."

Ed offered the man a half smile, finally grabbing the metal staff he used as a weapon. With the effort of his quirk he bent it around his waste almost like a belt to conceal any suspicion that he was carrying a weapon around in public. He scouted the location early, around eight hours later. Ed quietly scouted the tower, careful not to be seen by anyone. His phone made him jump however when he got an unsuspecting text. The phone lit up the little alley he hid in, opening up the message he had received from Jay. Ed exited in and out of his phone, debating on what to send. In the end he settled for a simple:

"Yeah."
NeonFlow NeonFlow

And that was it, it did not matter to Ed that it was sort of vague of whether or not he was attending, but Jay would find out sooner or later.

Akio sheathed her katana. She took a breath to calm herself and her heart rate slowed. The emerald haired woman looked at the two petty thieves she had beaten unconscious. She managed to subdue them without using her quirk. They weren't much of a challenge as the two had useless quirks and knives for weapons. Akio happened upon them on her way to her destination and figured it would be a good warm-up for whatever task Richard had planned for them.

Akio turned away, her normal look of disinterest plastered on her face as one of Richards black vans pulled around the curb. The swordswoman was used to seeing Richards abducting her targes once she and the others rendered them incapacitated. She used to them cleaning up when messes became bloody too. At first, she was curious about how they arrived at a scene so fast. Whether Richard had someone tracking them 24/7, Akio couldn't be sure. Over time she just stopped caring.

Just then her cell vibrated. She pulled her iPhone given to her by Richard, from her jacket pocket. Akio read the message from Jay as she continued on her way to Nohansom Tower.

"Omw." Akio sent then added, "be there soon." She then slipped her phone in the pocket of her black jacket.

Lily was tending to the graveyard shift of her work as she felt some kind of ringing in her pocket. She decided to check it out, it was a meetup from her 'subordinates'. "Hey, Allan. I may have to leave." She said to her partner who was with her in the library. "Hm? Why's that?" He asked as he proceeded to look at her. "Got somewhere to go? At this hour of the day?" He raised an eyebrow as he asked her the questions.

She responded with, "Maybe. It's none of your business." The man who wore a red baseball cap and a big pair of spectacles smiled at her. He gave Lily a sign that she's good to go. The pale girl gave him a friendly wave before leaving the library. She felt the cold wind of the night blow at her skin. The moon shined at her, forming a sort of halo around her head. She had felt a presence watching her in the shadows, like the gaze of a feathered animal. The girl decided to investigate as a big flock of crows came out of the alleyway. She dodged in time before it could rip her dress. "Well, that was certainly odd." The girl said as she brushed away some dust or feathers that may have been caught in her dress or hair. It was certainly odd for a pack of crows to come at her but, it didn't affect her as much.

Lily looked at her phone, there were some notifications. 'Games, friend requests... Ah. Here it is.' It said to meetup at a tower. She wasn't too happy as she knew her brother may start to know about her vigilante actions. He always had his intuition about it, he always does. One time, Lily was asked by her brother if she was the vigilante named 'Ms. Skeletal'. In an attempt to defend herself, she declined. Surprisingly, it worked as he believed in her lie. Lily wondered if he actually believed her. She constantly raised her guard whenever her brother was around. As she was walking towards the tower, she replied to the chat with, "On my way, as well." The girl got her air pods and listened to a song while walking to the location of their meetup.

"I've had enough. To you, this may seem funny but to me it is the opposite. I'm sure that you know that actions have consequences yet you fail to connect your actions to very simple consequences. So you make sure that this is the last time..." Eve stares at the furry culprit, brows furrowing in annoyance.

Waving a toy in front of his cat's face he firmly says, "If you want to keep the toy, do not destroy the toy." Eve gently throws the toy to the cat, expression turning to a soft smile as the cat plays with the toy nicely. "Good boy." As he was about to pet the cat, but then it rips off a googly eye off the toy. A disappointed sigh escapes him. "And I bought that just a few days ago..." With another sigh, he lazily lays onto his couch. Being the owner of a cat named Bean, who may look like cute because he looks like a raccoon but is really just the devil is exhausting.

Turning on the TV, he grapples a bowl of ice cream and a spoon off the kitchen counter before briefly glancing at the news channel then heading to a different and just using it as background noise as he scrolls through his phone. Social media has nothing much to offer other than oversaturated memes and things he just doesn't care about. Yet he keeps scrolling because he's bored. He shoves a spoonful of ice cream in his mouth as he scrolls, occasionally pausing to look at a video. Resting is his current priority seeing as he got off work half an hour ago.

Though should he risk taking a nap? Taking in consideration of the fact he has an important meeting of sorts in about an hour as well as the fact his naps at night just lead to him waking up at 3 in the morning, the answer to the question would be an absolutely not. So with that, he gets off his couch and prepares himself. Eve has got to look his best since all of his other coworkers are gonna be there. Which means that he'll be going in his more fancier costume, with the fancy jacket and the cape.

Once he's done with grooming his hair, putting extra food in his cat's bowl and checking himself out in the mirror, he heads out.

Nohanson Tower isn't too far of a walk.

Jay was surprised to get a three replies somewhat in succession. The woman sitting next to him on the subway gave him a few looks as if to say 'aren't you popular huh?'
Jay read each response and felt a bit more comfortable with each one.
That's four people, dick means four or five when he says all of you are needed... that's most surprises covered...

The train ride was uneventful. Some thug was trying to cause trouble but backed down completely when two guys stood up to match his bravado, Jay was about to put him in his place for a impromptu pay day as well...
Getting out of the station and walking the rest of the way, it was 8:30 pm when he arrived at Nohanson tower. Jay walked to the side to have a smoke and wait for the rest of dicks team to arrive, or for twenty minutes before going inside cause it ain't worth waiting outside.

Hiems flexed his hand, and focused. Nothing happened, except for an exceptionally cool drop of sweat rolling down his face before turning lukewarm within seconds after creation. His quirk was still out of order, perfect. After a few days of fruitless effort in his personal revenge, he had been focusing on punching down street thugs good enough to drag them to the corruption free police officers with ease. It was a bit harder with his quirk damaged, but not impossible at the least. He figured out alternative ways after all. Only if he could see those disgusting faces again, punch them straight into jail-that would make his life much better.
Hiems reached for his phone, tucked in his pocket, and checked the unread message from Nohanson. There was a meeting supposed to happen at Nohanson tower. Everyone-though Hiems didn’t have much idea how many were hired- were needed. Was there going to be a big operation?
“I’ll figure it out.”
He told himself as he changed his direction. It was back to the tower he went, for whatever waited for Nohanson and his vigilante friends.

Jay waited for fifteen minutes before walking into the tower, 8:45 PM security signed off on jays arrival and a attractive woman directed the man to a separate elevator out of sight from the main entrance.
"So punctual Mr Volc, always the first to come" the lady smiled giving a friendly smile as she glanced backwards.
I um, yea I try." real smooth idiot real smooth.
"It's a good thing don't worry about it" Emily M is her name, at least her nametag said so.
"I know Di- Mr Richard is a fan of schedules, things being on time an that."
The woman raised her hand to cover a giggle, "dick does hate having his time wasted... But make sure to call Mr Nohanson by his name."
"ri-right..."
Emily pressed a button and the doors to the elevator slid open silently. "You know where to go" she added with a smile.

Jay stepped in pressing the B-4 button, before feeling the elevator descend lower in a quick but pleasant trip... elevator music was actually decent in Nohanson buildings. wait did she imply... bah fuck it.
The others would arrive soon. Jay stepped out the elevator to wait in the underground office/confrence room that Richard set up a floor above his underground lab. Taking a seat on the lounge and googling some places he hadn't eaten at yet, money troubles seemed like a thing of the past... it was being reminded of 'work' that kept his appetite down now.

Lily looked at her phone as she was going to the building and following her phone as a guide to the tower. She looked at her playlist and decided to change the song. The beats of the song made her skip, going to the tall tower. She felt like using her quirk for a bit, she conjured a small puppy that followed her. It eyes glowed a bright blue but it gave her company on the travel to her destination.

The girl had arrived at her destination. She carried the puppy made out of bones within her hands and went inside the building. She greeted the woman at the front desk and went inside an elevator. She was slightly humming her song as the elevator traveled below the surface and into an underground basement. The door of the elevator slid open and in she went to the lounge where she spotted a fellow patron. She took a seat and grabbed herself a slice of a sandwich that she got from her bag. She looked at the man and said, "So, what do you think is the reason why we were called?"

Jay was surprised when just one person arrived maybe three minutes after he had sat down, the skeletal puppy was a odd sight. wonder how long she's been holding That?
He had no time to dwell on that and how many odd looks she may have received on the way as the young woman asked a question or made small talk.

A slight hum came from jay as he put his phone back into his jacket pocket. "my guess is he has new people to introduce us to.. And some of those people will regret something they have done because Nohansen sent us to meet them"
Instantly jay was jealous of whatever type of sandwich the girl was eating, so smart to prepare ahead. I should have a bag... with snacks... wonder how long everyone is going to be... All of us can't be just us two can it? The rest must be arriving on the dot at 9 or soon.

Arsène waltzes in the Nohanson building with a slushee he bought on his way to the tower, sipping it as he makes his way toward the receptionist desk. "Hey there, Emily. I'm here to meet the boss-man. Important business to attend. You know the drill." And with that, he enters the elevator shortly. Down below the ground he goes. The man takes another sip at his slushee, leaning against the back of the elevator.

Once the elevator doors slid open, he makes his way to the lounge and spots two other people there. "I assume you two are the others," he says, a smile on his face as he goes ahead and takes a seat. And with yet another sip, he takes a look at the other two occupants of the room. One's got a cool bone dog and the other has messy hair. "Nice to meet you two, I'm Arsène and that, is quite a cool dog you have there, miss."

"Now, are we gonna be meeting anymore people or will it just be the three of us here?" he asks the two of them.

Akio looked up at the tall building that reached high into the sky. Mr. Nohanson sure knew how to live lavish. The green haired woman entered the building and greeted the woman at the desk with a nod and tried for a smile. The woman smiled back and waved.

Akio quickly made her way to the elevator and hit the button that indicated the underground floor. Akio hummed along to the soft elevator music. They were playing the instrumental to a Fall out Boy song, a band Akio liked very much.

She wasn't surprised to see Jay and Lily had already arrived before her. Akio nodded to Jay before making her way over to Lily. Though her face was one of stone, inside she desperately wanted to pet the dog made of bone.

Hiems set foot on the Nohanson tower in no time. He entered without stopping to look around, only giving the lady at the desk a small nod as he went past her. The man then made his way to the elevator, and hit the B4 button. After the elevator door closed, he reached for his phone, tucked in the same pocket as before. He was not late, unless he was twelve hours late and all he was going to see was either an empty room or Mr. Nohanson sitting on a big CEO chair with dudes with sunglasses surrounding him. In the latter case, he'd calmly press close.
"..."
But no, neither happened. The room was quite populated, filled with three people-probably hired vigilante like himself- who have arrived before him. After scanning the room shortly from in the elevator, Hiems stepped out and took a seat on an empty chair.
