"In this land of torturous worship, where those who are akin to the stars, are the largest threat to humane society, those who are closest to the gods are closest to the depths of the Death Pits. And who is there to protect us? The ones who are of greed and gluttony, practicing sins in the morn and dusk."

Mornhaeus, one of the five provinces that make up Eain (Ay-n), the continent that connects them all. Dietius, a smaller province that borders Mornhaeus, recently underwent a terrible war, tearing the country into two factions. Mornhaeus was dragged into one of the factions, the Qein (Ke-ein) Empire, which had an alliance with Dietius, and Mornhaeus's king, King Portiac, agreed to help the Qein Empire. The Imperium of Ghastin, a empire from the south with imperialistic attitudes, went against the laws and codes that the Qein Empire and Dietius established and invaded Dietius in search for rich minerals and resources. Mornhaeus lent a small amount of their military force to defend Dietius, mainly defending the borders of their own country, fearing the Imperium will invade Mornhaeus next.

The war ended in a few years and several large battles, leaving most of Dietius in ruins, but the Imperium wasn't done yet. The Imperium invaded the southern borders of Mornhaeus and set the same fate that Dietius received to the Mornhaeus people. Leaving the south of Mornhaeus scarred and barren of civilization, Mornhaeus grew a feud between the Imperium and is contemplating a full scale war with the Imperium.

Mornhaeus's population of
quin (kin), the quin are the magically has been growing, as the Imperium is setting laws against their existence, the quin are fleeing to provinces not touched by the Imperium's deathly hand. The quin connect their life and soul energy to those of the stars and constellations in sight of Eain's eyes. The stars are at the heart of magic and each star is thought to represent a god of power. Whether it be Fire, Water, or Shadow, the stars all represent the gods as believed by the priests and scribes of Eain. Mornhaeus's quin soon went "underground", or out of the public eye, as fear of their death from those who disagreed with their ideals and tactics. Even though these quin provided powerful magical spells and were commonly skilled with the blade, where believed to be born in the Death Pits, the believed location of all evil gods and malevolent figures.

Mornhaeus's population, without the consideration of magic users, has been growing. Mostly refugees from the Imperium wars, but others came for the "bountiful crops" and "beautiful vistas and sights", even though most of the once beautiful fields and pastures of south Mornhaeus were burnt.

This is where your adventure starts. Whether you came in from boat from the provinces across the waters, or through the many roads that reach Mornhaeus, you are here. And no matter what you are, magically akin or some other species, someone in Mornhaeus is bound to accept you. From the priests of Dhirwood to the mercenaries of Lilean, you will find your place. You may be the new hero of Mornhaeus, or a villain, slaying all.

It is your story.
