The world has always been mystified by magic, however it did not take too long before science drove away the once widely believed magic of the world. It was sad and almost unbelievable. For what is a world were fantasy and magic is no existent. Now in the world the populace prefers technology over faith and magic. However glimpses of magic still exist. Whether in the form of faith or simple parlor tricks. However, perhaps there is still someone who can challenge the way our world works.
It was late September, about 9 months ago. On T.V. a man named Jaysen Riley claimed to the world that he was an Alchemist and it was true alchemy he used. The populace automatically ignored this and played it off as the ravings of a mad man. However he soon proved them wrong. In the later week he turned the Statue of Liberty into gold on live television. Most believed it was a hoax, but the buzz soon turned to scientists trying to prove him a liar. However, upon inspection they were baffled to find that the statue was truly gold. Baffled scientists had no idea what to do. Their very way of life was challenged by the existence of this man. They spent many months testing him. Using every known aspect of alchemy and science to test him. They had him fuse life, tun water to wine and create from all sorts of material. Each time they made sure it was done with no possibility of him using any sort of scientific material. Each time he finished the scientists examined the results. They were baffled.
The fusions of life were genetically exact as to what he said he would create. They were perfect fusions of both species. Water was then pure wine with alcohol. Every piece of material they asked him to turn to gold was truly gold. All of them were so baffled. The tried to keep him, but under humanitarian laws he was released.
Since then many scientists have been trying to prove him a fraud, but none have done so. Jaysen now roams the country, performing acts of alchemy and even helping with requests of advice to politicians.
