Name: Gregor Weighton

Age: 36

Role: Hunter/Butcher/Mercenary

Reason for coming to the new world: To start a new, quiet life and forget his mercenary past.

Personality: Gregor is reserved and quiet. He has a thoughtful disposition and a friendly enough demeanor. Not easily excited, he remains calm in most all situations. It is somewhat hard to get the grave middle-aged man to so much as smile let alone laugh. This being said he is far from caring. He looks after his neighbors and friends, and is fully invested in the safety of the nearby settlers. Should the need arise, he is easily persuaded to break out his trusty bow to provide backup in the face of danger to the community.

Backstory: Gregor spent some time as a young man in the Empire's navy, but found after a few years that mercenary work payed much better. He built himself a small nest egg over a successful career, and invested this into passage to the new world. Now all he craves are a warm fire and a full belly to finish out his days.

Affiliations/friendships: None yet

Specialties/abilities: Gregor is an excellent hunter and shot with a bow. His swordplay is not shabby, but he has far less experience in close combat. He is a better hand to hand combatant than with a blade as a matter of fact, and enjoys physical competition of the sort when the opportunity arrises keeping him in good shape for his age.

He has also dabbled in surveying but is by no means a cartographer

Name: Elena
Age: 22
Role: Farmer/Baker/Fisherwoman
Reason for coming to the new world: Adventure, a new start
Personality:
Elena is usually a very active person, but she's not one to instantly trust strangers, even if they have good intentions, so she prefers the company of animals. She is a kind person and will not let anyone starve if she can help it, but that's only if they really have no other option.
Backstory:
Elena comes from a small island named Berk where there's only one village, but most a fighters and most use swords. She took up archery since that made sure she kept her distance, since injuries were common, too common. She heard about this new world and decided that she'd join as it gave her a new start and the adventure she wanted.
Affiliations/friendships: None
Specialties/abilities: despite being a farmer she's actually good with a bow and arrow, preferring a crossbow, but she could use either.

Name: Addam Brightwall

Age: 24

Role: Paladin

Reason for coming to the new world: To redeem himself.

Personality: Addam is your typical goodie two shoes Boy Scout. He believes in helping people because it's the right thing to do and that's the only reason you need. He's generally extremely polite, courteous, and good natured, though he is quite awkward at times. He does his best to help around the village, though his primary job is the defense of the villagers and the organization of the militia. He tends to try and avoid conflict whenever possible, and shows a disgust of those who revel in it. He's quite religious, though he has begun to question his faith quite often.

Backstory: Addam was born to a poor fishing family in the Empire, spending his childhood helping his father and mother as best he could. It changed, however, when a travelling paladin came across the boy at a local tournament. Addam made himself useful, practically begin to be taken as a squire, and the paladin chose to humor the boy, taking him back to the capital for training. The next few years were uneventful, with Addam being knighted when he was twenty one. Whatever made him leave for the new world is something he doesn't much want to talk about, but it was horrible enough to make him question both himself and his faith, and make him desire to redeem himself.

Affiliations/friendships: None, as of yet

Specialties/abilities:
Addam is trained in most forms of combat, being proficient in the sword most of all. He can use a bow, but he's not the best at it. The same can be said of crossbows. He has a basic knowledge of fishing from his childhood, and if he has enough spare time, will help out by catching fish. He has no magic whatesoever, or any knowledge of it.

Ah thank you so much! I literally joined the site last night so I'm still not super acquanited on how it works!

Name: Arcadia/Neria (Her last name is a long withheld secret, many just refer to her as "Archmage" or "Court Wizard")

Age: 28

Role: Enchantress, Brewer, (A lil bit of a side fisher and farmer)

Reason for coming to the new world: On the king's orders, She's been elected to lead the expedition and research into this strange new substance called "Redstone"

Personality: In plain words.... Arcadia is just creepy. Rarely speaking unless its strictly on business, addressing the royals, or speaking about/educating others on the wonders of magic, Arcadia's quiet disposition is rather off putting to most. She's almost ghostly silent, one might not notice her milling around were one not paying attention. And before coming to the new continent, many of the young knights would make a game out of getting the young mage to speak much of anything other than magic. She takes her duty to the kingdom, and to her studies extremely seriously, and are usually the priorities that drive her daily life. She regards others with cool disinterest unless they prove themselves to be not boring, or possibly interesting test subjects... While usually aiming to keep to herself and her studies, she will do what is neccesary to further her research and goals, and is often spoken of in ill terms for it. Often called cunning, resourceful, even ruthless to some, shes got a sharp mind, and even more deadly tenacity. Rumor circulated around the castle that for being such a quiet, dour woman, she has a hidden temper within her that is just waiting to boil to the surface... But.. some say that deep down- she is kind, and charismatic under all that ice, distance, and no nonense. You just have to really work to find it.

Backstory: Coming from a poor, isolated fishing village, Arcadia had very humble beginnings. Magic was actually outlawed, and frowned upon in her village. And so she spent much of her young life fishing upon the sandy coasts that stretched on the outskirts of the village. Despite not being able to read, nor write, she showed true talent for trading and bartering within her village, her natural charisma springing forth to seal deals and wrangle in good trades for her and her family. She was content with her life in the village, never desiring to see the outside world or leave her village. Until, one day, a traveling mage came to town. The residents of the town were wary of the stranger, hateful even, and he was ordered to set up camp on the outskirts of the village once the villagers had learned of his true profession. And, while a young Arcadia had been told to stay away from the man, being ten and curious, she went against those warnings and spoke to the mage. She wondered what kind of a thing this "magic" was, that made all of the villagers so fearful and avoidant of it. After bringing some fish as an offering, she asked the mage to tell her about it. And tell her he did. He spoke stories of moving light, of shifting ones apperance and creating fire with nothing but one's hand. And after a quick demonstration- With a twirl of his fingers, and the warm light of a fire springing forth from his fingertips- Arcadia had her first taste of the wonders of magic.

And she wanted more.

From then on, she would sneak off to see the mage, and he would teach her more and more about magic- Stories of the world and it's people unfurling from his lips, magic coursing through every vein of his being. Suddenly, Arcadia wasn't satisfied with her little fishing village anymore. After some pestering of the poor mage, he taught her some cantrips- which she seemed to have a natural affinity for. So, being taught how to read, and write, and cast spells at a very young age, it ignited a thirst for knowledge in Arcadia unlike anything she had ever felt before. However, such excitement and joy was not meant to last. Some of her peers in the village had found out about her secret studies, and despite the disagreeance from her parents, Arcadia was ostracized and exiled from her home. She's never been back since.

She went on to live with her mentor, though he worried for her, since she seemed different since she came to stay with him. That excitement and friendliness and charisma he had seen in the village had seemed to be all but put out. But, him taking her in wasn't all bad. Under his patience, persistence, and teachings, Arcadia went on to become one of the smartest, and youngest mages in history. It wasn't long until the castle noticed her promising brain and talent, and hired her. For many years, she worked, toiling with the many magical matters the castle needed, working her way up the ladder until she was promoted to be the Archmage of the castle. It was her life, that position filled her and her master with so much pride, and she devoted herself to doing anything to keep it. Now, shes in the new continent, working for the king and trying to uncover the mysteries of this new world...

Affiliations/friendships: Actually rather good friends with the empress, and decently acquainted with the royals. She no longer speaks to her parents, but will often write back to her mentor on the mainland, who is like a father to her. Otherwise, has no friends. And desires to keep it that way.

Specialties/abilities: As a mage and magic user, shes rather poor with anything that requires her brute strength. Rather delicate and more of a homebody than anything, she prefers to keep to her magic, and making potions, enchanted books, etc. If you need anything of a magical nature, not only can she provide it. But she will also pay a premium for anyone who brings her magical ingredients. While she can defend herself passably well (Her master refused to teach her magic without teacher her the way of the blade, but that went rather poorly) Its often very dangerous for her to face foes straight on. While she puts herself at unnecessary risk trying to gather ingredients, she is very poor with combat. She's got some experience with farming and fishing, thanks to her poor village life and working with her master growing herbs for brewing, but otherwise, she has no skill whatsoever when it comes to anything outside of magic. Is a pretty good trader though, and seems to rather enjoy doing that.
