Millennium City: Nova - {Pocket D}

"Lucario, you don't need to fear me. My kind gives birth to one like me every nine generations. I am blessed with insight into many things. Names, emotions, skills, and much, much more" Turning back across the street, the man sighs, replacing his hat as he extends a hand slowly, feeling for rain "Hmm, not quite yet, but shortly. You might want to buy an umbrella" he notes nonchalantly.

"But if you wish to know just how much I know..." he turns back, closing his eyes for a moment, focusing his mind "You're closely bound to the element of steel...And to martial arts, you're a fighter, who can channel his aura to fight" he chuckles softly as he opens his eyes, those swirling grey orbs observing him once more "And you have the potential to push yourself much further than this, don't you?" he looks down at his hand as if he can see something in his palm "I see an orb, it looks like a big yellow marble, with ribbons of red and blue within it"
Dream_Lucarionite_Sprite.png

He wipes his brow, and exhales slowly, smiling slightly "You look pretty awesome in that form, I bet the crowd would love you" he adds, before leaning against the wall nearby

Jak eyed Vault boy and shrugged "Other than it being quiet, I guess I can say I'm alright."

He looked over at Aoba and looked over at Lucario "Hey, Lucario... are you alright?

He may of looked cold from the outside, but inside he worried a bit.

YellowTemperence YellowTemperence Mythias Mythias

Judging by the Jak's concern over Lucario, it seemed like the two had known each other prior to them meeting at Pocket D. Initially, Aoba saw the long-eared child a bit cold and a no-nonsense figure, but it seems like even the coldest of people are capable of having compassion and sympathy for others who are going through a rough patch in their life.

Lucario

Lucario was so wrapped up in his own thoughts now that it was difficult to concentrate on what everyone was saying. They became blurs- distant sentences that felt like they belonged in another world. No matter how important, how shady, or how odd any conversation that Lucario would usually hear was, the canine tuned it all out. The only thing he did here was Aoba's question on if the Aura Pokemon wanted a glass of water. Yes, that would be simple enough. Water. Just water. An element Lucario was familiar with. Through his clouded mind, Lucario managed to form enough willpower to nod, though the movement was so slight that it was almost unnoticeable.

When the protector of Aura almost caused Aoba to spill the glass due to his hug, Lucario cared little for how much water actually spilled out. Despite the impressive fact of Aoba preventing the glass from fully falling out of his hands and shattering (which would probably anger some employees of this foreign place), Lucario ignored the almost-disaster and continued his embrace. The pats on the back from the blue-haired person felt wonderful to the canine. It was like he was back home with his stepfather, Carracosta, comforting him whenever he had slipped, fallen, and wounded himself. No matter how small the cut was, Lucario's stepfather was always there to take away the pain, and with this... 'Aoba,' it was like Carracosta was never taken from him.

Jak's question did not prompt Lucario to open his eyes and break off the hug. The protector of Aura instead pressed the hug slightly tighter and nodded. "I'm okay... I'm okay..." he repeated over and over again for a few seconds, though the statements were difficult to form in Lucario's chest and sounded empty even to him.

Lucario

Lucario's eyes snapped open this time. His head whipped around for his eyes to meet the man who was handing out a flier. His aura... the canine whispered in his mind. Odd... Lucario gently wiggled out of the hug between him and Aoba to free his arms and take the flier, the shine of a few tears visible in the fur on his cheeks. The Aura Pokemon stared at the sheet for about twenty seconds in confusion. By the time he looked up, the man had already left. With his mouth now agape and a gasp being let out, Lucario let his field of vision trace around the crowd of the bar. He wasn't able to find the fellow who had made his offer. That unnamed man was long gone from being distinguished in the sea of people occupying the building, and Lucario realized his ability to find him with much more ease too late.

Long after the man had exited and started smoking to relax, Lucario had given up on using his natural vision and sat down on one of the chairs and closed his eyes in deep focus. Slowly, the four black appendages on the back of his head raised up in the air, no longer hanging loose from the mask-like pattern on Lucario's face. The gradually-fading empty feeling in his chest worked against Lucario's 'Aura Vision,' muddying the auras of everyone and making them difficult to discern from one another. However, he picked up a faint trace of an energy similar to the one that handed him the sheet just outside. This aura... I can't focus on it enough... Lucario shook his head and opened his eyes, breaking his focus and causing the appendages on the back of his head to droop down to his shoulders again. With all the weight that he felt on his body, he was unable to tell the intentions of the man- he would have to get answers by talking to him. Still, the man said something about putting his fighting to good use. If this was underground business...

There was an aching in Lucario's stomach, forcing the canine to place a paw to the hurting area. It did not come from hunger; rather, this sensation was more of a caving-in. The guardian of Aura stumbled from his chair and shakily escorted himself outside. "H-Hello?!" He called out in hopes the man could hear him while he pushed his body against the wall to try and support himself.

Lucario

Lucario's red eyes zero in on the man once he starts speaking. Using his shoulder, the Aura Pokemon pushes himself away from the wall and almost loses balance. With a short struggle to keep himself upright while the man talks about how he had expected Lucario to come out and ask some things of him, the canine managed to keep his footing and looked up only to see the man's long ears. The appearance was quite jarring for the blue dog- was this man perhaps not human at all? The statement of "it's always been my gift to know all about people" caused a shiver to run down Lucario's spine. The idea reminded him of his world's Mewtwo- an engineered, psychic weapon of mass destruction that was not meant to be. If this man knew all about Lucario... the pain in the Aura protector's stomach came back even harder. Just what did this guy know?

Lucario would waste no time in vocalizing that as his first question. "What do you know about me? Why did you come up to me and give me this?" The Aura Pokemon waved the still-folded flier out in front of him, his eyes narrowed at the man. There was no way he could use his aura-sensing ability at this moment- there were too many thoughts and questions corrupting Lucario's mind...

"Are you sure you are okay?" Aoba replied, trying to speak in a soft and soothing voice that was barely audible. "You should definitely rest up once everything has calmed down."

As he said this, the Aura Pokemon had broken off its hug and was suddenly alert and distracted by something. Following the Lucario's line of sight and attention, Aoba saw a flier being passed out by an entity he didn't know. Curious, Aoba decided to take one for himself as well, only to be confused by the contents. He obviously wanted clarification from the robot that was handing out the fliers, but the entity had already left without a single trace left near him. Ruffling his hair in annoyance, Aoba folded the piece of paper twice and placed it inside his left pocket on his coat.

While Aoba wasn't exactly fussed with the flier, he noticed that it Lucario was in a peaceful state, or at least Aoba thought it was. He watched as the four black appendages on the Pokemon's head move up and down. Are those meant to be sensors or something? Of course, Aoba was curious as to what those oval-like appendages on its head were for, but Lucario was once again agitated about something. Before he could even ask whether the Pokemon was alright, the latter had leapt off its chair and ran for the exit. Shock beyond words, Aoba knew Lucario wouldn't be able to survive on its own, not in his current state of mind. Frantically grabbing his wallet, Aoba took out a $50 dollar bill and handed it to the closest bartender so that he could pay for the drink he had an hour or so ago. "Keep the change." Aoba tried to keep a smile to hide his fears, before bolting out the door as well to chase after the Pokemon.

"Lucario!" Aoba shouted, trying to keep up with the Pokemon's speed. Luckily for him, Lucario wasn't so fast to the point it would disappear from his sight. Aoba watched as Lucario succumb to some sort of pain near the latter's abdomen, before shaking himself awake and approached the Aura Pokemon. "You can't run out on me like that."

Aoba had genuine concern for the creature, but it seemed as if Lucario hadn't been listening to him, much to Aoba's worry. However, as he tried to tend to the Pokemon, the same robot chef-looking thing had approached up to the two of them.

"Ah. I expected you'd have some questions" the man says, not turning his head, but instead removing the hat he wore, revealing a long pair of ears as he exhales a lungful of smoke and flicks his smoke away "If it's about money, you needn't worry. Our fighters are well taken care of" he says, finally turning to fave the pokemon "And if it's about how I know you can fight, and fight well...Well, it's always been my gift to know all about people"

His eyes seemed more like swirling grey pearls than what you'd normally see resting within a person's head, and it was clear by the way they gave off a sift light, he could see more than most, perhaps it was this ability that let him see the fighting spirit of the pokemon before him. "Those are the usual questions, so if it's not one of those, feel free to ask away. I'm expecting a few others inside to find their way here, so it's of no inconvenience to me"

YellowTemperence YellowTemperence

When the suspicious guy mentioned that his gift was knowing all about people, it sent Aoba a cold chill down his spine. These kind of powers could be easily abused if given to the wrong hands, and Aoba knew that for a fact. His own powers were almost stolen by a massive corporal entity for the sake of brainwashing people. Although Aoba was able to thwart the corporal entity's plans, however the event had shaken him up rather badly, and he vowed to never use such power for the sake of destruction.

"What on earth do you want from Lucario?" Aoba asked the figure he wasn't familiar with, thinking the latter was hostile and continued to stay close to Lucario's side. As the standoff continued, Aoba began to feel flickers tear drops that fell onto his hairs and shoulders. Looking up, Aoba noticed that it was about to rain and he hadn't taken an umbrella with him. Sighing, Aoba looked back at the unknown entity, and was willing to protect Lucario if needed.

Lucario

The canine wasn't exactly paying attention to Aoba, but he could feel him approach up from behind. Lucario's eyes had remained on this mysterious man as the two conversed, speaking about blessings and insight. Lucario retracted his thought about this person reminding him of Mewtwo- he was more like Uxie, apparently bestowed with knowledge of past, present, future, and... everything, it seemed. The Keeper of Knowledge back on his home world knew it all, and if the one standing before him held the same powers, then... then Lucario had no idea what to do. With those chilling grey eyes scanning Lucario, and the man explaining Lucario's abilities, both physical and conceptual, the canine couldn't help but feel a chill run up and down his spine. His stomach turned in knots for a moment, amplifying the discomfort in it before returning to normal. How? How could he know this?! The Protector of Aura growled to himself.

But then he mentioned Lucarionite.

"Th-this... isn't how it was supposed to end..."

Lucario's veins filled with cold adrenaline. As soon as the man brought up 'a big yellow marble' that could amplify the Aura Pokemon's power, the canine was suddenly returned back to the area he had entered during the fight with the buggy. He looked down at his furrier, more red-dominant in color and more powerful body. In front of him wasn't the man, but that being of pure hatred and panic he had so dreaded all of his life ever since he had beaten it- even though he had accepted it into his heart to vanquish it once and for all, he could never forget what it had done to everyone he had loved. All of the world, turned to stone... he could almost hear it speaking in its various voices, calmly scolding him for not finishing the job sooner. The first time Eric and Lucario had tried to attack it, prior to when the Aura Pokemon had rebirthed himself as a normal species... their temporary win had been mere luck. In the blue canine's mind was one thought: what might have happened if they had failed for a second time?

As fast as the vision came, it disappeared faster. Drops of rain were hitting the canine's fur, just as the man had predicted. At Lucario's side still remained Aoba, just like the Typhlosion friend he had once known. Lucario was too invested in his own thoughts to hear Aoba's firm inquiry, but the Aura Guardian could still feel his blue-haired ally's defensiveness radiating onto the Lucario himself. It was just like the Cyndaquil, Quilava, and then Typhlosion he grew up with, giving him strength to continue no matter how difficult and unknown the road ahead might have been. The pain in Lucario's stomach was gone. The Aura Pokemon found no trouble in stepping forward towards this mysterious man. He didn't care how much he knew about him or what his business was anymore. With Aoba by his side, the canine felt he could take on the world.

Lucario had only one more question to ask of the man.

"Where do we go now?"

Without so much as addressing the amount of foresight needed to set this up, he simply gives the pair a wink, hands the man a few notes, or and nods back towards the club behind him "You should have a few more potential hires coming this way shortly, kindly give them my regards, and escort them on their way"

He then guides the pair across a few roads, down a few intersections, and through an alley, before gesturing out before the doors of a building which certainly stood out from its surroundings. Lucario gives Aoba one final uncertain glance before pushing down those feelings and deciding to follow the mysterious man. As Lucario walked around the corner, he was handed an odd contraption by this mysterious agent after he had taken it from another person, who had seemingly been waiting there. This contraption... was a metal stick with cushioning at the bottom and a plastic wrapping at the top. The canine had no idea what this was supposed to be used for. He fumbled around to try and find its use, but the only thing he managed to find was the velcro wrapping around the plastic. The Aura Pokemon ripped the velcro away, letting the plastic covering fall loose around its metal base. Is... that really it? He asked himself and looked at the umbrella with a gaping mouth before shrugging and twirling it around. Might as well make it some bit of useful, right?

While the canine was spinning the umbrella around, however, he accidentally pressed down on a button on the side of the thin metal base trying to grip the cushioning. The plastic suddenly extended outward into a firm sheet-like shield with a surprising amount of force, enough to cause Lucario to almost fall flat on his face. He stared at the now properly-used umbrella with even more surprise than before. How did these humans come up with these things, and what could this thing really do? The plastic was too flimsy to protect against any attacks. However, Lucario quickly noticed something- as he pointed it at an angle towards the sky. The rain was being caught by the plastic sheet before dripping off of the sides, much unlike the straw-coated houses some villages back home. Lucario held the umbrella over his head, and he was instantly relieved of all of the water soaking his fur. The revelation made him grin. Humans really did have some neat inventions!

The canine kept following this new agent to a building in a part of town Lucario didn't recognize. The rest of the area looked so dark and underground that it told Lucario's instincts to get out of here, but this building in particular was one that calmed his nerves and told him to stay. Its vibrancy looked so wonderful, after all! How bad could a place like this be?

"Allow me a moment, and I'll arrange for the full VIP treatment for you both," the agent told them. The Aura Pokemon nodded and waited outside while the man entered through the doors of this beautiful building.

Aoba stared at the yellow marble that had a red streak within it, and genuinely wondered what it was meant to be. What has a marble got to do with him or Lucario? Before he could ask for himself at the importance of the marble in question, Aoba noticed that Lucario was completely engrossed at the object to the point it seemed as if the canine had ignored Aoba's presence. Regardless of Lucario's current thoughts, Aoba couldn't afford to take his eyes off it.

Even Aoba wasn't sure himself as to why he wanted to protect the Pokemon so much. He had only met the entity today and now all of a sudden, he wanted to protect Lucario like a mother would for their children. Maybe it was because it had reminded him of Ren, Aoba's canine AllMate. There was a complicated history between Aoba and Ren, but even so, Aoba fiercely cared for the Ren and was willing to pay thousands of dollars as well as travel thousands of miles just for a spare part in case Ren did break down. Even though Ren's personality was one of stoicism and calmness, starkly contrasting Lucario's massive waves of happiness and sadness, the latter seemed like a splice of Ren.

Aoba heard Lucario asking the suspicious man as to where they were supposed to go as he was next to it, with the Pokemon looking back at Aoba in uncertainty. "Don't worry, it's two against one if we do get into trouble." Aoba smiled, in a rather weak attempt at trying to calm Lucario down, although he was very unsure as to what else the Aura Pokemon was thinking.

The downpour's intensity had increased by tenfold, and the splashing started to feel like knives trying to stab Aoba's head mercilessly. It didn't help that his hair had nerve endings, which multiplied the pain by another hundred times. However, Aoba could not let rain disturb him and tried to soldier on despite the excruciating pain that he was experiencing. By then, the mysterious man had handed Lucario a umbrella, and Aoba wondered whether the Pokemon could actually use one. Well, he knows human speech just fine, surely he'd know how to use an umbrella right?

And of course, Aoba's expectations were not fulfilled at the least, and watched in displeasure as Lucario twirled the umbrella around. Before Aoba could take the umbrella off the Pokemon so that he could use it properly, Lucario had opened the shield, possibly by accident as the force had dragged the latter forward and flung him face first onto the wet concrete. Shocked, Aoba quickly ran after the Pokemon, before sighing exasperatedly.

"Umbrellas are for protecting people from getting soaked by the rain," Aoba took the umbrella from the man and rested the pole onto his right shoulder, and the rain began to hit the shield instead of his body. "I'll hold the umbrella, let's get going."

"Calm down, kid. You're awfully excitable" he sighs, sliding a hand into his pocket and withdrawing another flier for the fighting club he had handed to Lucario "Your friend here's a natural fighter, talent like that is a good way to start making some money in this city" he offers the flier over to Aoba, his eyes resting over him for a long moment as he chuckles "You know, usually I see a great deal about the true nature of people..." his words trail off as the gaze of the man lingered long and hard on the boy, before he exhales from his nose as if amused.

"Natural fighter?" Aoba repeated the man's statement and turned it into a rhetorical question, before taking another quick glance at Lucario. Is that why he survived the robot's hostile rampage? He focused his attention onto the man again, waiting for the latter to speak again hoping he would have some sort of clarification, but instead received even more questions from before. "My talents?" Aoba asked, eyeing the man even more suspiciously. Is he referring to SCRAP?

SCRAP was a power that was so devastating, Aoba at one point straight up refused to use it before of the fear that he would unintentionally destroy someone's consciousness and mind permanently. He had destroyed one of his friend's mind by accident due to his inexperience at handling such power. Of course, he had other ideas, or so Aoba thought. Somehow, the reconciliation between him and Aoba had allowed the latter to not be afraid of his abilities, and it turned out he was just trying to protect Aoba from danger. Of course, surely there was a better way to communicate than destroying people's minds to make a point right? But anyway, what is the man hiring people for?

Fifth Circle? Aoba withheld that last question, worrying that he may accidentally annoy the man with his onslaught of questions. In turn, he wanted to find out what everything was about, and ultimately decided to follow the man obediently even though Aoba had absolutely no idea what the man's true intentions were. He followed the man from intersection to intersection, alleyway to alleyway, before coming to a stop in front of a door. The door was built in a building that stood out from the rest. Instead of blending in with the dull concrete walls that extended from both sides, the walls were extremely bright, so bright to the point Aoba thought it was glowing.

"Full VIP treatment huh." Aoba muttered a phrase from the man's most recent statement. Hopefully that isn't a code word for evisceration. Taking a deep breath, Aoba followed the man inside, staying alert in order to not let his guard down.

And, just as he was first petrified, something about the flash in Jeanette's eyes made Wilson snap back to reality. His gaze furrowed as he silently glanced at Woods, then Shilo, then Maxwell, before drawing his sight back to the sinisterly bedazzling singer. He gulped, wrapping his fingers around the chilled, metal handle and nodding in reluctant acceptance.
"T-Thank you, ma'am. You're too gracious." He quietly muttered, rising to his feet before slinking back behind the American and his companion, his silver quarterstaff pressed firmly against his own, pounding chest.
It was as though the eerie flash in the woman's eyes reawakened a familiar survival instinct within him. One he hadn't felt in a while much longer than he'd truly experienced. To Higgsbury, the days of scouring deserted archipelagos for sustenance were like yesterday, though the flow of time in this "Millennium City" was distorted, as though it'd been stretched and cropped in a video editing software.
T'was a strange sensation, this cumbersome passage of hours, though one he wasn't too alienated by, as the Constant itself had its fair share of timey-wimey mumbo jumbo which left Wilson frankly befuddled. Regardless, he snapped back to reality as he leaned closely towards Woods, resisting the urge to break into a Looney Tunes sprint and head for the hills.
"What's this about a 'Pit Fiend'...?" He quietly questioned the marine, clinging onto his uniform.

The blue unnamed creature got up, opening their eyes as they looked around. They hadn't been asleep but reaching out psychic feelers across the club, or in short gathering information. Through the process they'd heard most of all the conversations in the club, either with the psionic ability or their own ears. Regardless in their current form their psionic power wasn't exactly graceful and was easily detectable to any person with a decent psionic power. Nonetheless they got up and headed to the room in which the group of people listening to Jeanette explain their job to them, and as they came to the door they paused. The creature could tell their was a strong power within the room and if made them doubt the soundness of their idea... and then come to conclusion that they really didn't know what they were doing at all. Nonetheless after a while they lightly knocked on the door to the room, alerting their presence in a polite if not timid way. They then thought to themselves, 'I wonder what's going on... There's only so much I can understand right now... It's so frustrating... I should try and meet people though... I need allies right now, and this ordeal is curious. The way I see it I can only gain from this, knowledge, connections, whatever reward this person is offering... My vulnerable form isn't helping though... I need... I need to find someplace safer... Later... I'll do that later.' The creature shrugs off some instincual impulses and stood their cautiously, refusing to run away and go find some secluded place to set up a hive. The concept itself was only vaguely understood by the creature but they had some knowledge, but besides the few vagrant and vacant scraps of information they had their mind was essentially a blank slate.

~Mario~
Ol' Mario had more than earned some shut-eye tonight. Early this morning, he had roused from his bed to discover a neat, crisp envelope resting soundly in his mailbox, seemingly packaged with the same care as one would have with a newborn baby. There was hardly any need to leave her name on it- Mario knew in an instant that it was from Princess Peach; though perhaps the crown marking used to seal the envelope was another dead giveaway. She had, once again, graciously decided to invite him and Luigi over to the castle for a party- apparently, it was Toadsworth's birthday. Neither Mario or Luigi knew exactly how old Toadsworth was, and they weren't actually sure if anybody knew- but how could they turn down the offer? Toadsworth had been such a good companion to the princess, the brothers, and to the kingdom as a whole. And, let's not forget, the sealer of the deal- the promise of cake.

Overall, today was looking to be a great day. That is, until King of Koopas, Bowser, bust in through the castle walls with his airship armada and legions of loyal minions and snatched the princess right under the brothers' noses. Here we go!

Mario and his brother did as they have many times before; all the way from Toad Town to Bowser's Castle, they traversed sand (still stuck in their shoes), sea (swimming is less fun when it's with 10-foot-long electric eels in a cave)- even the skies (death-defying leaps of faith), before they finally made it to their final confrontation, face-to-face; a battle with Bowser. It was hard-fought, as always, but the brothers came out victorious once more- Bowser defeated, princess rescued, kingdom saved; all in a day's work.

The party resumed, and everyone assuredly enjoyed themselves. The cake certainly lived up its promises. But now the brothers were home, and, after their adventures for the day, they were positively pooped. Luigi waved goodbye to his brother as he went to his own home, and Mario crashed into bed, dreaming pleasant dreams of ravioli... spaghetti... pizza pie...

Mario's pleasant pasta dreams were rudely interrupted by the sensation of- what was it? Rain dripping on his face? That couldn't be right- he was home! Even if he wasn't in his home, the Mushroom Kingdom forecast he watched before bed had said there would be clear skies throughout the night- and they weren't often wrong. Either they had it muddled up, just this once, or Mario wasn't...

Mario opened his eyes with a start and quickly got to his feet with a mighty leap, fist in the air. His eyes widened and he felt his mouth run dry as he shot his surroundings a worried look. This was not the Mushroom Kingdom.

These were not the warm, sleepy, friendly plains of the land he called home. This was a bustling, slick, visionary megacity- one that nearly reminded him of New Donk, if it wasn't twice as grey and cold. Lampposts illuminated the ground and lights through people's windows lit the place up like a firework.

Mario's face suddenly turned five shades paler- why was he here in the first place?! Had he been robbed?! His lips narrowed, his eyebrows curled down, and let himself grunt in frustration- had he been kidnapped? For the second time? He realised this must be how the princess feels. However, after frantically searching his pockets, he came to discover he hadn't been robbed. Well, he couldn't have been- all of his coins were still in his pocket, along with his wallet! What could this mean? Had he been... transported somewhere? Sucked into a foreign land? It certainly wouldn't be the first time, at least.

Before he could piece this together, Mario decided it would be a good idea to get out of this alleyway. Pumping his arms, he bounded towards the light at the other end and energetically leapt off of the wall, grabbing the top of a lamppost on his ascent. He swung himself three times to gain momentum, before leaping off in an impressive front-flip, exclaiming a cheerful "Wahoo!" after his release. He stuck the landing and ran across the road to the other side of the street, arms extended as if he had just performed an Olympic leap. The awe-struck passers-by certainly seemed to think so, as they erupted into an ocean of applause after his landing, amid cries of "Whoa, who is this guy?!" "Where'd you learn to jump like that, man? Nice!" and its ilk. Though it was totally unnecessary, and perhaps inappropriate considering his situation, it was more a force of habit- and after all, it wasn't as if he was in a prison cell. In New Donk and Toad Town, he does it all the time!

Now, though, the plan was to ask somebody. This is a city, right? Hopefully, Mario thought, the locals will be able to answer at least some of his questions. He was already starting to worry about Luigi, and the Princess, and the kingdom- Bowser wasn't one for giving up, that was for sure. He continued his joyful jog down the street- slowing when his ears were graced with the pleasant tunes of jazz, his eyes dazzled at the neon lights, and the smells... oh, the smells. Mario's pasta dreams were catching up to him, hearing his stomach rumble. This would be a good place to start, Mario thought.

The place was just as magnificent as it was on the outside. Seeing the interior and how the guests were dressed made Mario feel majorly underdressed in his red garments and dungarees, but he noticed the casual wear others were wearing, helping to qualm his worries- after all, he goes to the nicest places in the Mushroom Kingdom in the same clothes. Hopefully, this place would be no different. Before he had a moment to fully take in his surroundings, however, a woman clad in the staff's uniform greeted him politely, with a noticeable French accent- a somewhat thick accent, one which he had only heard from the likes of Broque Monsieur. "Ah, hello! Allow me to seat you."

"Oh! Thank-a you so much!" Mario replied, with a light, enthusiastic hop in the air. The waitress lead him to a bundle of tables, though they weren't perhaps as open as they may have been earlier in the night- there seemed to be all kinds of characters here. As they walked, however, a question rose to his mind, and he turned to the waitress.

"Ah, I'm-a very sorry, but... I haven't been here before. Can I ask, ah... do you accept-a foreign currency?" He inquired, sheepishly rubbing his head as he dug his hand into a pocket in his overalls and took out some of his coins. It probably wouldn't have been anything she had seen before- he hoped she didn't think they were fake, or anything.

Jeannette tilted her head to the side once more, absorbing the barrage of questions with a subdued smile. In the end, she brushed most of them away, though she did gesture newcomers into the room, such as the odd creature that had knocked on the door. "Yes, diplomacy is an option. Perhaps a safer one, even. Pit Fiends are vainglorious beings if nothing else, but they are also paranoid; they are as strong as any demigod and as brilliant as any inventor, capable of discerning lies and even reading thoughts among the more weak-willed. The magic such a creature wields could incinerate most of you in a moment, if you do not strike decisively or if you anger him during your talks."

She licked her lips once more, then stood up. "You are shaping up to be a formidable crew. I hear others coming, as well. The white-haired one, and the stuck up, purple skinned bitch. They could prove useful, as well, I imagine. I encourage you to leave quickly, though. Eventually, the king will find out who you are, and, if you're in the club when that happens... Well, pray that a devil's love of deals is stronger than his fear of betrayal."

Elsewhere, Geralt gave Widow a confused frown. "Sure, I guess we could go back there. Don't know what you expect to find, though. Unless you swing that way, I guess." The Witcher stood up and started off towards the back. Before long, the two, and CHEF if he followed, came face to face with the entire party of would-be assassins. "What's going on?"

The server smiled at the plumber, promptly seating him before answering. "First night has all refreshments covered free, courtesy of the owner. That way, you'll know what you're getting and will hopefully come back! What can I get for you?"

The blue-skinned creature walks into the room upon invitation and joins the group, listening and not talking as they didn't know what to say. They looked around at everyone inquisitively and listened carefully, a moderate but dull psychic radiance emitting from them, poorly contained and easily noticeable to anyone susceptible to it or that had training in psionics. The creature itself wasn't necessarily plain besides that, their very being was very noticeable as well. Beyond the vibrant light blue skin the second most noticeable thing was that they were completely naked. However this didn't seem to matter because any gawking soon found out the creature had no sexual traits of any sort. They were flat chested and had no genitalia of any kind and seemed to just be a blue skinned body beyond small tendrils on their head, looking like hair, and a small prehensile tail. This tail was no feat, it was small and weak looking. The structure probably had more use as a sensory trait then for the ability to fight or life something, but if you looked close enough it seemed to have a small needle on its end. As for their face it was sort of generic except for their eyes which were a almost neon yellow. As well along their dull blue body you saw some slight deviation in their skin, a different texture and small coloration different on a large portion of their back. Regardless they didn't seem to be doing anything nefarious, and a better judge of character may read them as naive, even with their inhumane look. By far of all here except perhaps CHEF, this creature was probably one of the most alien. BarrenThin2 BarrenThin2 Haz. Haz. Hearing the French waitress' answer, Mario's expression morphed from one of shock, to pleasant surprise, and finally to one of relief- he might've just dodged a bullet there. He returned the waitress' smile with one of his own- how gracious of the owner! For a moment, he wondered how they would be able to keep the restaurant profitable with such generous deals, but concluded from the stupendous amount of other people in the restaurant drinking their expensive wine, wolfing down their colossal steaks and just generally receiving the full V.I.P. treatment, that people would have to be crazy not to return after a single visit, even if it is only free the first time.

Then again, these sights didn't mean that Mario was without his reservations. He had just been warped here, for crying out loud- one moment sleeping snug in his bed, the next laying in puddles down a dingy, dark alley in a city he had never seen before- in a place he had never seen before! Who's to say that this restaurant isn't a trap? It certainly wouldn't be the first time Mario was in such a situation...

...but, for now, at least, Mario felt like he could keep those concerns on the low burner. If nothing else, you can't get to work on an empty stomach, and after all, this lady seemed friendly- perhaps she could even help him with finding some answers? Mario was usually able to tell who can be trusted and who can't. Alright, Mario thought. I'll order something, and I'll ask her when she comes back. He might actually ask some of the people around him, too- there was that middle-aged, bearded bartender he saw earlier, and there was that large group of people talking to that woman with the red dress- though they seemed more than busy at the moment. There was a lot of people- maybe someone else entirely.

"Ah! Is that so? That's-a so nice! How very hospitable of them!" Mario finally responded, putting his coins back in his pocket as he reached forward on the table to take a brief look at the menu, unashamedly going straight to the pasta section. He put his forefinger and thumb on his chin as he browsed, but didn't keep the waitress waiting for long before he picked something.

"Let's-a see... can I go for the spaghetti con le polpettine, and, ah..." He briefly took a look at the drinks, and he would be lying if he said he wasn't a little disappointed they didn't have Royal Mushroom tea- despite knowing that they wouldn't, since the recipe is one from the Mushroom Kingdom, and not from wherever he was.

"... Orange juice?" He decided, shutting the menu and looking back at the waitress.

The sky dimmed over the barracks as the wind howled and the clouds overcast the base, "Alright, we know our mission and we know the enemy. We will be loading you into the warp via special Pods designed to sustain heavy storms or whatever may loom in the skies of the warp. Good luck and may the Emperor guide you!" The Voice boomed across the Kill team accumulated on the seats below the stage. "Well? GET GOING!"

The soldiers already clad in their armour and their guns armed rushed to the Pod that would shoot them through the warp.
"A bunch of work he is, eh?" The Space Wolf of the pack joked. "Watch what you say, the Inquisition will do much worse than Khorne himself!" The Ultramarine boasted his righteousness. "Quiet you two, we move now and when the time is right we shall run our guns like you two run your mouths into the forces of Chaos!" The Blood angel pushed them to rush faster, eager to battle Chaos.

As the Deathwatch Kill team seated them selves within the launch pod the door slammed behind them making escape impossible. Eventually the blue lights inside lit up red, "LAUNCH IN.... 3.... 2 ... 1" The lights shut as the pod bursted from the safety of the frigate hurling at dangerous speeds towards the rip in the universe. Only 5 minutes later and the Pod crashed into the surface of the strange place. Another 5 seconds and the walls that surrounded them opened up, and the Kill Team quickly marched out with their guns on the ready. "Shoot to Kill, No mercy." Vinyosh the Black shield lead the troopers into the baron land that looked like mars.
"If I didn't know any better i'd say we are deep within the Adeptus Mechanicus base on Mars... But we'd be dead by now." The Space wolf joked.

Another brutally long time of marching and the troopers finally met with their first hurdle, a patrol of HellBrutes' all stomping. "3, heavily armed and weaponized" The Blood angel looked up from his scanner. "This should be easy, don't be a hero" The fire team raised their weapons in unison, unleashing a wave of brutal and devastating bullets all impacting the Hellbrutes, "FOR THE EMPEROR, AND MAY THE EMPEROR HAVE NO MERCY ON YOU!" The troopers cried as the Hellbrutes fell quickly with ease. "To easy... it shouldn't be this easy, we are in the heart of Khorne!" The Ultramarine became paranoid. "Yesssssss, it shouldn't be that easy." A psyker of tzeentch appeared before them. "I can't move brothers!" The Blood angel cried as the psyker giggled, "I froze you all with some simple magic, you should of had your 'fancy' libraians give you a nice protection shield first... Now, I hope you didn't feast before this because I'm sending you someone." The Psyker giggled. The Troopers became sick in the stomach before blacking out.

As they regained their minds they awakened to themselves strapped to tables with no way to escape. "Where are we!" Vinyosh cried from across the room, and just than the God himself, Khorne revealed himself from the shadows, "I see my new toys have arrived in great condition, I will have a joy with you all!" The space marines looked in confusion in silence before the Ultramarine broke the silence, " What do you wish to do with us? Kill us? If so you are wasting your time, we are invincible!" The Chaos god gave a slight laugh before returning to talk to them, "No, I wish to torture you all endlessly, or until I believe you have expired." ..........

A whole decade later of eternal agony to the space marines have passed but on this day Khorne didn't come to torture them, no, he came for something else. "I believe you are no worth to me and I have consulted with many and have came up with elaborate ways to get rid of all of you." The table the Space Marines rested on started to move into different small and dark rooms with writing on the walls of each on parchment. The Space wolf one read, 'Disintegration'. Blood angel, 'Conversion'. Ultramarine, 'Insanity'. and Finally, Vinyosh's fate, 'Banishment'

A purple portal opened on the floor and the latches of the Black Shield's table released, throwing him into the portal to lead him to wherever he may go.

A couple hours later and the space marine landed on the side of a street gently, still clad in damaged armour and his weapon slung on his shoulder. He groaned as he got up looking for signs. Vinyosh seemed to come to terms with things and realized he better get some food and rest or he will never get to the Emperor back in one piece. He especially looked for signs that were for an inn, or cafe. Something that could offer both Sanctuary and food.

Johnny was in the middle of running from a girl that wanted to beat him up after an unsuccessful attempt at flirting with them... But little did Johnny know that this innocent usual action of his would result in him being teleported to another world where he would have no recollection of what happened... And that's exactly what happened right now.

Johnny wakes up to find himself laying on the floor when he suddenly comes to his senses. He gets up and carefully inspects the scenery and everyone around him, which was quite unusual of him as he was more focused on himself and how he looked but... He just had a strange feeling that he couldn't re-call but passed it off as nothing out of the ordinary and despite feeling tired of out nowhere, instead of taking a seat he put it upon himself to go up to one of the waitresses in order to get himself something to drink and to try his charms once more.

"Hey baby, by any chance are you interested in a man with big hulking muscles to protect you in case of danger? And if not could at least serve me a drink?" He said as he flexed one of his muscles to try and impress the girl... But something tells me that wouldn't work... The flirting part, at least.

It was nice, she wasn't going to lie, to have an ally that could read her. Even if he wasn't one hundred percent accurate, Frank Woods at least tried to be attentive to what was on Shilo's mind and the body language that she used. Even though she stifled her feelings very well, he obviously picked up on the mild changes she made. She hoped she could actually read him as well as she thought. They were rather similar, the two of them... it was good to have him by her side. It was also nice that he didn't seem to mind that she wanted to stick closer to him. Despite them being allies, at least for now, Frank was much older and something about him gave off the "stupid kids, stay off my lawn" vibe. Though, despite Shilo's age, she probably had as much if not more field experience than he did and had probably seen and gone through as much if not more bull shit trauma. Maybe those were discussions for another time though. For now, it was time to measure up everyone going on the mission and make sure the entire team wasn't too much, or too little.

Shilo tilted her head to the side a bit as she listened to Maxwell's answer. "Good," she stated simply. "Shadowy magic let's you used creatures from the abyss...Nietzsche save us." She murmured to herself. "And if you're really as persuasive as you seem to think, then maybe you are just what we need to make this really work. Please explain though, what exactly do you abyss creatures do? Will they attack any of us or are they completely under your control?"

Shilo looked back up at Frank, noticing his extra caution compared to the other missions she'd seen him in. Though there had only been a few, he did seem like the more "Leroy Jenkins" type of guy. And sure, Shilo was excited about the Pit Fiend but that didn't mean she wasn't overly cautious and wanted to make sure that everything went right. Despite this being a type of entertainment for the woman, she was very aware of the fact that she could possibly die, but more than that, get other people killed. That wasn't something she wanted on her mind. She quirked an eyebrow at him and the look he was giving her. The raven haired woman turned to face him as he spoke. "That's a good point, except, that if we aren't as quiet as we think, we could literally get us and everyone killed by the Pit Fiend himself, or his cute little demon friends. The diplomatic approach lets us at least try a compromise and not get anyone killed with no worries." She explained, crossing her arms over her chest to let him know she was ready to argue this if she needed to.

It was actually the fact that they didn't know what they were walking in to that Shilo thought the diplomatic solution was the best and safest all around. They could easily be out matched when it came to skill and weaponry, considering that very few of them really knew how to use magic, and that's if anyone other than Maxwell knew how. With the appearance of Frank's other female ally, in Shilo's mind, it only furthered the need to keep it diplomatic. She sighed at the look that Frank gave her. Well... maybe Niwatori's looks would some how help... Shilo hated the idea of that, but at the very least she could be a distraction.

After explaining the situation to Asuka, she looked up at Frank's question. "No, she's been picking it up herself. Haven't really found the time to genuinely teach her..." Shilo looked down at the German girl and smiled, proud of her for teaching herself. "Sie haben schnell Englisch gelernt. Wenn Sie mir die Zeit geben, möchten Sie, dass ich Ihnen das tatsächlich beibringe? (You learned english quickly. If given the time, would you like me to actually teach you?)"

As more and more people showed up, Shilo was more set on the idea that the diplomatic approach was the best. Lucky enough for her, Frank seemed to start thinking so as well. The assassin's blinked slowly, pushing a thought from her mind. From time to time, the way Borys taught her to think would sneak up on her. In times like that she would have to push it back, knowing that it was probably the worst possible idea she could have. Sure, more people meant an easier diplomatic situation, as well as more people to fight with... but it also meant more cannon fodder. She clenched her jaw. "This people are more than meat shields, Borys, fuck the hell off." Well, now that that idea was firmly out of the question... what was the best way to approach a diplomatic situation? With this many people, they could go and mingle with the crowd as Frank, Maxwell, Wilson, herself and a few other trusted companions went to talk with The King. That would allow information to be had during a deliberation, if the group was given time for one.

As she fixed her hair, she noticed Frank looking at her a bit funnily. "What?" She asked, placing a hand to her bangs. "Is something wrong with them?" She would mind if they were up, but she needed to look as good as possible, and if that meant moving the bangs from her face... well... maybe that was what had to be done. As he stepped forward and spoke, Shilo couldn't help but tense just a bit. But she took a silent deep breath to calm herself, reminding herself that she was the one that offered. She stepped forward to further close the distance between them. Raising her bare hands to the man's neck to adjust the bowed cloth. "Anything to make sure you're looking your best, cutie pie." Shilo wasn't good with nick names. She actually didn't mind the sweetheart as much as she thought she would. Sure, it was odd to hear it from an ally, or really anyone... but something about the way Frank said it, the way it rolled of his tongue, his voice... It sounded nice.

Shilo finished fixing the bow tie, and gently brushed a few specks off of Frank's coat when Jeannette spoke again. The assassin smirked up at Frank, playfully, when the singer said that the diplomatic strategy was "Perhaps a safer [option]." Though she lost the smirk when she explained that even more people should join the cast and crew. Did they not have enough? The Leader of Team 73 was used to working with seven other people. That was it, seven. So... this was quite a bit for her already, it seemed, and they needed more? The assassin met Frank's gaze, trying to gauge what the Marine thought of the entire situation. She gave a small nod, seemingly to herself, looking over to the curtain when the silver haired man that looked vaguely familiar stepped in, along with another unfamiliar being. Her gaze hesitated over the completely new figure for a moment before looking toward the Witcher. "Oh, just getting ready for a fun trip to another club. Possible murder, definite diplomatic discussion of territories. Want to join?" Shilo said casually, opening up the invitation with a small smile on her face.

Name: Rhys
Location: A train station away from Millennium City

Sure enough it was a first time (or not) for a normal Hyperion Employee to be somewhere away from where they're supposed to be, but not for for someone who had a mechanical arm who has been on the verge of almost certain death, but that's for a later story. Meanwhile though the one worker had escaped from Helios and one of the presidents known as Handsome Jack, hoping to not be seen again and now he's here, entering a train station, purchasing a ticket and proceeding to the platform where the next train would be expected.. inb4 there's a damn delay like always, but whatever....

The next train was arriving, an announcement on the PA system could be heard while the train was braking "Current Stop [Insert name of the station here], This current train line will follow to the next stop which is Millennium City" The train had stopped, opened its doors and now people were going in and out of it since some of the passengers needed to get to work or simply just get to their destination, the one wearing a Black Hyperion jacket, black-half striped pants as well as his blueish half-striped buttoned shirt and skag skin shoes had all day since he didn't have to worry about getting back to his workplace and having to face Hugo Vasquez (who's also one of his arch-nemesis back on Hyperion)

Few minutes have gone by, it could be noted that few of the passengers had the feeling of "bahnirrefürung" (which is the feeling uncomfortable when arriving or leaving a bad looking subway or how the germans say it an "u-bahn") Rhys was not kinda used to seeing this

Now the train is coming a halt, and now the ones inside the train hear the voice of the driver say "Welcome to Millennium City, following it along is station [insert station name or number here], as always, please gather your belongings, I ain't gonna be the one liable for your lost and long gone stuff, and hope you've enjoyed using the Metro Services, have a good one" now the train has come to a stop, some of the peeps in there remain seated as either they're asleep or this simply ain't their destination, but not for the one who was known as a salary man, standing up, doors open and hopping off of the train and onto the platform and off to finding an exit

Walking towards one of the exits, there seems to be a map, and so the Hyperion "war-mongrel" decides to take a look in the hope that this was the right destination which it indeed was, it could be seen that this person needed somewhere new to go instead of sticking to the locations of his home planet Pandora. Anyway where was I? ah yes; Everyone was seeming to be in their normal commute, and yet though he went through the exit of the "bahnhof" (german for Train station), there was something his eyes couldn't believe, Buildings that were lit up, and actual infrastructure, something that Pandora lacks because oh I don't know, is it because Handsome Jack is nothing but a megalomaniac psychopathic schobelochter piece of shit? Maybe

While taking a look around, the man who's name is Rhys had been impressed by not what he has seen, but the people who are actually in here "Is this some kind of dream?" the business man asked himself, and the answer could be concluded with a simple no, this wasn't a dream.
Now some food or drinks will do him good, and so he decides to stroll around to see what place can be good for having some lunch, and there goes one with some music playing along and the smell of good things entered the man's nostrils "At least something comes up, some drinks or food may do good, I'm not in a hurry like everyone else in this good looking town" While entering the restaurant, a lady with a french accent that was notoriously heavy approached the man with the mechanical arm and offered to look a spot for him "Ah, hello! Allow me to seat you." the man respectfully said to the waiter "I'm actually looking for a place on the bar, I need a few drinks" as he now walked over to take a seat on one of the stools and wait for someone to take his order

Asuka wasn't paying attention to whatever had happened while she began spacing out in deep thought; she was going on about her friends, family, and her life back in Germany. Then, suddenly, she awakened, gasping, as she breathed heavily. Then, she turned towards Shilo and walked up to her.

"Sh--Shiwo, was ist passiert? (Sh--Shilo, what happened?)"

Colonel Radec navigated the dirty fog of the Helghast air and turned to his men "You know what to do, find the ISA scum... and kill them."

His people were of utmost importance at the time but something else was on his mind, something... more.

Even the likes of Visari and the others couldn't distract his thoughts on it.

That's why he found himself at a train station, buried somewhere deep out in Helghan. Nothing changed except for the people's reactions on board. Nobody expected Visari's bodyguard to show up on a train. He was one of the biggest and most feared men on Helghan.

A lot of folks eyed him wearily, as the Colonel took a seat, not saying anything.

The train took him to Millennium City. A new city of promises, somewhere new. A new life, new choices.

The futuristic train stopped and the doors opened, leaving Radec to explore a new city.

The Helghast Colonel made his way throughout the city, taking in every little detail. After all, a soldier has to know what or where he's working in.

Radec felt oddly at unease without his cloaking device. He eyed the crowds inside the bar, only to find another lone man inside with brown hair and a strange jacket.

He prefered to sit at the very back, watching everything that went on in the bar.
