In a dystopian future, many live in slums unable to afford apartments in the inner city and other luxuries like replacement organs and protected neighborhoods. The slums are affected by the heavy pollution and constant acid rain. Many are forced to use cybernetic bodies as the mass produced cybernetic parts are cheap while medical care and cloned organs are prohibitively expensive, but also because the acid rain burns and scars the skin and the air in the slums damages normal lungs. The slums consist of metal containers with an average living space of eight square meters per person. Many are only allowed to enter the inner city with special permission and most in the slums work at nearby factories in the few jobs that weren't completely automated. But many are unemployed or survive on selling small crafts created from salvaged electronics.

However a local producers of cybernetic modifications named Joyparts, specifically ones made for leasure has decided to hire the residents of slum district 131-b to be test subjects for their new parts in turn for some pay and virtually free modifications.

Locations:

The slums: About five million of the city's twelve million inhabitants live in the slums. The slums mostly consist of metal containers often five stories high, house over 100 people per building. The slums are vast in area and make up about 20% of the city's area.

Slum 131-b: It is a bit away from the main cluster and sits atop a hill in an abandoned electronic garbage dump. It only consists of a couple buildings that house a total of 250 residents.

Inner city: The inner city is where the wealthy and upper middle class live. No one from the slums can imagine being able to make it there in their lifetime. Most slum residents aren't even allowed to enter the inner city to see its many highrises, malls etc.

The suburbs: Further outside the city are the suburbs where the middle class live. They are nice and are mostly protected from the pollution known to the slums. Living there however is still too pricey for the residents of the slums, but it is more likely to be able to get their in a lifetime.

Slum district 131 school: The school for slum district 131 includes elementary, middle and high school. The school is state funded so students can get decent meals there (if they can eat due to cybernetics), uniforms are publicly paid for and teaching materials are somewhat modern. About 1000 students attend school here from district 131s A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H neighborhoods.
