Kai and Ike walked into the ballroom, both elegant in their own way. Kai's serious saunter and Ike's laid back swagger. Ike immediately shed his coat and held it over his shoulder, much to his brother's disgust.

"Ike, I know you're better than that."

"I know I am. I just choose not to be."

Kai rolled his eyes and shook his head, then stepped back when his brother tapped the nose of his mask.

"Quick little foxy fox. I knew you would get it. I also know you will understand when I say," Ike walked towards the food, waving his hand at his brother, "I don't want to see you again tonight."

Kai huffed and crossed his arms, walking to the tables and sitting at one. "I don't want to see you either, you miserable little crow."

Ai stood quietly near the back of the room, trying to be inconspicuous. Honestly, it was her first time attending a ball. Her hands fiddled with her mask, shifting it slightly into place. She looked out into the room filled with many others, all who seemed to be having fun. While shifting around slightly in place, the side of her right leg became exposed due the slit in her dress. Ai had worn many dresses similar to this, but for this occasion, it seemed a bit too exposed. Her long, black hair fell over her shoulders as she bent down slightly, pulling part of the dress back over her leg.

Claire huffed, walking quietly outside the doors of the ballroom. She had been pacing there in the foyer for minutes, maybe even hours, so nervous to enter and see what had laid inside. The girl only planned to go to this event as her mother forced her to become a socialite- quite like how she had been when she was younger. Much to her regret, she found herself on the steps of this ballroom. Her mask in hand, she glared down at it like it was a piece of trash. Claire rose it to her amber eyes, tying the golden ribbon in a secure knot to her head. With that- she quickly opened the doors and entered the room.

Immediately, her eyes were filled with not one, but three people. She didn't notice the lavish decor or the brilliant chandelier- all her eyes could focus on was them. People. Actual, real, live people. She hadn't seen any for maybe a year. The girl blinked, to make sure it wasn't her imagination creating a hallucination to accompany her mental cravings. Nope, they were real.

"H-hello.."

Hayden played with a section of her deep red hair that was pulled back into a high ponytail as she stood near the ballroom. She nervously let it go and took a deep breath, knowing she couldn't turn back now. She flicked her hair behind her shoulder, letting iy falling soft curls down nearly past the middle of her back. Sighing softly, she straightened herself and let one of her hands hold the other as her arms lay across her stomach before her hesitantly walked in and looked around. There were people tete but not a lot much to her approval. She brought the same section around over her shoulder and starated playing with it again as she stood out of the doorway so others could walk in.

Lee was just arriving at the ball as it was reaching full swing, which he could hear from the foyer. He would’ve joined the party if it weren’t for his doubts of the whole thing. Lee enjoyed these sorts of things, wearing a modish suit, chances to show off his dancing prowess, and of course the prospect of meeting someone special. That prospect was a long shot for Lee had been to numerous balls, each ending with the same result of breaking a girl’s heart because she wasn’t right. This was all the last times so maybe tonight was different, maybe there will be someone here, just maybe.

Slipping on his mask, Lee opened the door, following the girl who was just in the foyer. When the doors were opened a flurry of stimulants hit Lee. The biggest was the classical music playing, giving the ballroom the bit of feeling for dancing and mingling, for it was subtle and very calming to the nerves, beckoning people to be outgoing. Glancing around he noticed all the people, but only a few really caught his eye.

Two young men that seemed to be connected, maybe friends or siblings. They seemed very comfortable with each other, up until the moment they departed company. Lee then looked over to a girl to the side, seemingly alone despite her attractive appeal. Wearing a slimming dress that exposed her leg, well for a moment, she fixed it obviously not concerned with her outward appearance. And the last one was the girl in the foyer, even now in a room full of people she looked lost.

“H-Hello.”

The girl was talking to herself most likely afraid to approach anyone, so Lee did it for her. “Hello, are you waiting for someone?” He was taking a subtle turn, instead of heading straight into the compliments.

((Don’t worry, all my post won’t be this long. :P ))

Kai was sat at a table by himself, tapping along to the beat of the music with his eyes closed. He was lost in the music, not even noticing any other character in the room. He was at peace, and this was exactly why he came to the ball. Not to dance, nor to eat, but to find peace away from the fast paced life at home. If he could find someone nice enough to chat with, maybe this night would be perfect.

Ike, however, had a different reason. He smiled at the girl who's leg was exposed, but frowned when she covered her leg again, huffing as he turned back to the punch. He grabbed two cups and quickly scanned the room for any eligible, and easy, bachelorette. He honed in on a shy looking, small girl with red hair. His favorite color. Too bad she was wearing that blue dress, then she would be perfect. He sauntered up to her, offering a cup of punch. "Hello, honey. You looked lonely here by yourself."

After moments of failed attempts to keep her leg covered, Ai decided to let it be. The dress had been designed to do that and it wasn't going to stay. She released a sigh and gazed around the room again. There were a few people who had caught her eye, like the man in red, the girl he was walking to, two others, and a lone man seated at a table. That man in particular seemed like he was enjoying himself. She found herself staring at him and his cat (?) mask.

Hayden had gotten lost in the music as she played with her hair. She snapped back to reality when she noticed a tall guy approached her. She immediately stiffened up at his words and looked down shyly. She managed to look back up at him and nervously took the punch from him. Hesitantly taking a sip, she started to twirl the long strand of hair in her finger, curling it more before letting it go so it could go back to it's soft curl, and repeating the process. "I guess," she said softly, a hint of Russian in her voice.

Claire snapped out of her daze, to her surprise; a voice had replied to the weak attempt at introducing herself to the group. She turned her head, amber eyes instantly taking in the view. He was attractive- way too attractive to have noticed a girl so plain as her. Obviously, she had been mistaken as another woman, and he was just under the influence that Claire was someone else. Sure of her thoughts, the girl turned her head back away and back to the ballroom- leaving the boy with only a view of her indigo hair and billowing gown.

Only a few moments had been spent with her back to him, did she realize that maybe this person had actually tried to communicate with her. Embarrassed at her foolishness, she turned slowly at her hips and gazed up at him with her eyes. She opened her mouth, then shut it. Of course, spending a year in the forest analyzing new species of plants had its difficulties. Claire hadn't spoken to someone face to face in a very long time, so she was at a disadvantage for the moment. Finally, the girl spoke with her voice quiet under the harmonic tones of the orchestra playing.

"No, my apologies. But, it's nice that you checked in on me. If you wish to talk more, you can call me C."

As he sat listening to the music, Kai became more and more aware of a presence watching him. He opened his eyes and immediately spotted a woman against the wall with half of her face hidden by her mask, and half of her body exposed by her dress. He smiled at the woman watching him, and nodded his head slightly, his way of saying hello.

Ike smiled sweetly when her face gained color, and smiled wider when he heard an accent. He took a sip of his drink, then put his hand in his pocket casually. "So I'm guessing you didn't come here with anyone, hmm? It's a damn shame, because you're beautiful. Though I guess that's a good thing for me, huh? Otherwise I wouldn't had the chance to meet you."

The girl was very indecisive, almost taking a double take just to view him. She had sweet amber eyes and a surprisingly complimenting... mmm blue? No that wasn't the term, it was lighter, a purplish color, either way it was surprisingly fitting. After a second glance she began to speak, or at least tried. Everything about her was very well placed, almost like she had mentally prepared herself with this. On the other hand it also didn't seem like this was her cup of tea, for she was not welcomed very socially.

"Ah, well it's a pleasure C... Is that short for something? Cindy, Catheryn, or cute." It was subtle, but noticeable to someone who did actually want some company. While Lee might seem like just someone with cheesy line, they are all well planned, almost like a list to go down for talking to girls. He was smart and he loved analyzing the girls, this of course leading him to leave them, but nothing came up for her yet.

Hayden shook her head slightly as she took another sip of the flavored drink. "Umm no I didn't actually. No one wanted to," she admitted and looked down feeling a bit ashamed. Blushing crimson red at the stranger's compliment, she shook her head again. "Far from it, but believe what you want," she said and looked at him with a shrug. "Sorry to disappoint," she nearly whispered to him before sitting her cup on a nearby table and wrapping her arms around her waist, feeling more insecure.

Caught off guard by his sudden gaze, Ai turned away. It was embarrassing for her that she been caught staring at him and she became flustered over the fact that she didn't know what to do. The man did seem quite nice, and it wouldn't hurt to greet him politely. After a moment of mustering up her courage, she fixed her posture and overall look. As she walked over to him with newly gained confidence, she brushed a hand through her hair. In contrast to her previous self, who looked shy and timid, she was now overflowing with a mature feel.

"Hello. I saw you from over there and decided to come meet you myself. I hope I'm not intruding in on anything, " she said with a smile, her bright blue eyes scanning the mask briefly.

"Yes, actually. I mean, no. Yes?"

She looked down at her waist- cheeks decorated slightly with a crimson tinge. Claire met his eyes yet again, before breaking away and lifting a hand to fix her hair that had fallen over her shoulders while flustered. She exhaled, casting her gaze low to the ground, the brilliant amber glimmer in the iris extinguished. Of course, she messed up.. Claire couldn't have expected to return from months of being a nature geek and resume being her former debutante. Unfortunately- her mental grace had been lost and the flow to her actions corrupted.

"C is short for Claire, my apologies for my stammering. You see, I'm not quite the girl I used to be. I devoted twelve months of my life to isolation in nature. Coming back as a debutante isn't exactly easy."

Claire looked back at him shyly, hoping that her weak explanation had not thrown him off. Gosh, what an idiot she had been. You cannot go around telling attractive boys that you are secretly a scenery freak, Claire. She chastised herself, exhaling deeply.

"I'm sorry, this is officially awkward. My apologies, yet again."

Ike frowned when she refused his compliments, like he always did, but he felt a tug at his heartstrings when she turned away and hugged herself. He was quickly over it, however, focusing instead on the fact that he could now place her accent. He smiled softly and brushed her hair with the back of his hand. "You can't deny the fact that you are the most beautiful girl in the room. No man dare ask out an angel like you, and I would bet my life savings that you're even more beautiful under that mask." He sat at the table, setting down his punch next to hers and pulling out the chair next to him. "I would never be disappointed in you, angel."

He blushed slightly at the fact that his gaze made a girl flustered, but he was quickly over it. He faced away from her, and focused again on the music, forcibly pushing her out of his mind. But she quickly came back when she greeted him, and she now seemed dripping with confidence. "You were not intruding on anything, I promise you. I was only lost in the music, enjoying my time away from my brother." He adjusted his mask and stood, smiling as he pulled out the chair beside himself for her.

Hayden blushed a bit brighter and tightened her grip around her waist. She noticed him pull out a chair next to him and hesitantly sat down, unsure of why he was being so nice to her. She played with her hair once again before looking at him. "I deny it all," she said simply. It was all she needed to say to him because it was true at least to her. She had been told she was pretty before but nothing compared to what he had been saying, and she didn't even know his name or what he looked like underneath the mask.

Ai took the seat offered to her with a bit of hesitation breaking her confidence. After taking a seat, she became a bit as to what to do next. She hadn't planned at all before getting him, but going with the flow was her next option. "Brother, you say? Could it be that man in red?" she guessed. They didn't look alike, but they did come together.

He chuckled at her nervousness, not a rude laugh to be heard around, but a very slight giggle, showing off his smile. He looked at her, his eyes showing a very earnest understanding, not fazed by her passions. The fact she had a passion showed how mature she was, unlike some of the girls he courted that were only interested in the norm. "Well I find it very intriguing that you have something that you're... not obsessed with... but something you spend a consider time enjoying it. And I'm quite sure you are the same girl, if not better, then when you left. Can I escort you to the nearest table to continue this conversation Claire?" Lee's voice was soft, not to deep, but gave a reflection of a level headed individual. Mature and well balanced he felt he could hold his own with this girl.

He left the crook of his arm open for her, the escort being something to see how comfortable she was on a physical level. She was quite pleasing to the eye, but yet she seemed very distant and reserved. Obviously a facade for she did invite the conversation further herself. He then focused on her voice from earlier, Claire was obviously well educated, but not well suited to social functions. She probably just needed time to adjust again, and who better than Lee, for he was a chatter box at times.

Claire looked back up to him as a laugh could be heard resonating through her ears; a sound so distant that she could barely remember what it was. The girl could feel her lips forming into a semi-smile, and didn't struggle to let her charm settle through. Instead of turning away, like an approach another girl had taken to a surprisingly forward gentleman, she opened her mouth wide in an elegant grin. Claire's mind went back to her years in cotillion- where her mother had forced her to learn manners and ballroom etiquette. Now, those previously useless lessons had come alight in her mind, and Claire nodded her head.

"I would love to. Although, if you do not mind me asking, did you mention your name? I tend to like to know my comrades' name in a conversation. If you don't want to share it, I completely understand."

Claire asked, taking his arm with no hesitation. The girl simmered her smile down a bit, finally resting on an alight smirk. She looked to her right, away from the boy, down to the ground. Is it really this simple? Do I just have to wear a flattering gown and do my hair, display a smile and wear a mask to be confident? It's been so long since the old Claire van der Hassen made an appearance. Could tonight be that night?

Ike smiled at her red face, and wondered slightly is his flirting was working. Of course it was. He was Ike Dobrev. He got anything he wanted, including girls. He sighed and became more confident, taking his drink again, though not doing anything with it. "I just realized I haven't introduced myself." He took her free hand and kissed it softly, not breaking eye contact. "During the ball, you may refer to me as Crow, though if you investigate further, I would not hesitate to tell you my real name. And what shall I call you? Angel? Princess? Queen, maybe?"

"Ah yes, my brother. He is the one with the crow mask, though I see it more as a peacock, all he cares about is himself." He scanned the room for his brother, quickly finding the red man. "Augh, look at him harassing that poor girl." He sighed and shook his head, giving his attention to the woman in front of him. "Yes, he is my brother. But please do not associate me with him." He stopped, quickly realizing something. "Oh, God, I forgot to introduce myself, please forgive me!" He held out his hand, bowing his head and kissing her hand if she took his. "I do not know if the masquerade requires us to keep our identities a secret, this is my first. You may call me Fox, just in case the ball does have us hide our identities."

Ai attempted to stifle a laugh as the man talked about his brother, but failed. Her laugh was soft and quiet as if laughing in the presence of someone sleeping. She suddenly silenced her laughing and turned to the man, who had exclaimed about introducing himself. Again with slight hesitation, she took his hand, allowing him to kiss it. That alone was enough to make her face heat up. "I-It's also my first. Umm.... in that case, you may call me Raven," she said, coming up with Raven on the spot, which hinted at her raven black hair.

Hayden took her hand back and placed both of them in her lap silently. She looked down, starting to think of the answer to his question and bit her lip in concentration. She finally looked up after coming up with the conclusion. "Call me whatever you'd like to. I'm no one specific," she answered softly as a small smile appeared on her lips despite her mad blushing state. Shrugging her shoulders slightly, she continued to play with her long red hair, somehow finding comfort in its softness.

The gravel of the road grew louder, the extended car soon pulling to a halt.

Upon the travel there, Joshua was miserably bored. He was invited to a party, having to travel from Germany towards a mystical area for hopes of it being worth his time. He continuously checked his clock, pulling up the silver jewelry as he would flip it open, sighing in disappointment as he clicked it shut and closed his eyes once more, resting his palm on his cheek. It had been hours for the ride to take from the flight, and the flight days. He prayed upon the heavens that his time wasn't wasted.

But of course, what would he'd of done within Germany? Greet more children his brethren came to brag about? Be nagged upon the fact that he thought of others as not worth his time, and he needed romance opposed to just business within his life? But had his family forgotten, that love was what crushed him the most. He scoffed at the memory, shutting his eyes tightly until his eyelids hurt, releasing with a sigh through his nose. He opened his eyes, noticing the mansion upon further road, smirking in relief as he rested his body, but within his mind eagerly wanting to get out.

The moment's notice his butler opened the back door he shot out, barking towards them as he stated "Out of my way." Although he was perfectly placed in a clear direction. No need for the butler to react, this was an everyday thing. But as always, he reacted with obediance, stepping from the door as he smiled to himself, which made Joshua as well reveal a small feeling, recovered by an emotionless face. He lifted the right side of his coat, putting on his mask as he sighed, walking within the doorway and taking it all in. He noticed the architecture, very fair as it was almost as his own home, almost. He smiled, getting a notice from someone that an area which the others would be found was towards his other direction, which he gladly strutted to in a proper walk, that of military pacing as he entered a door near some tables.

(My apologies I have been gone, my repayment is this post. I didn't know this had started, having enough on my plate as I apologize once more.)

Kai felt more relaxed when the girl across from him laughed, glad he was able to meet this kind of a woman. He was confused when her face turned red when he kissed her hand, that's how he was raised to greet a woman. But no matter. He beamed at the mention of her "name", and he bowed his head. "It is an honor to meet you, miss Raven." There was a lull in the conversation as someone marched past, then, "So, tell me about you. Any hobbies or interests?"

Ike smiled when his angel timidly bit her lip, then gave him a shy answer to his question. He smiled coyly, tapping the edge of his cup in thought. "You say you're not beautiful, and yet you are. You say nobody wanted to come with you, and yet every man is staring at you. You say you are no one specific... So I can only guess that you are the most important woman here. You're obviously heavenly, so may I refer to you as Angel, angel?" He was so focused on wooing the redhead, he didn't even notice the entrance of another man into the party.

(Oh, @Hyydra , it's no problem, we understand! The owner of this roleplay is too busy to play also, so yeah. Everyone is talking to eachother, but I'm sure nobody will be too upset if you join in on a conversation UwU))
