Also, there is no limit on what you can be in this roleplay! You want to be a half-beast prince of Xera? Be a half-beast prince of Xera! As long as you follow the basic information addressed in the Overview, you can let your imagination fly with possibilities! Happy character creating.   Lindliel stands 5'7", and has a slight build.
• Lindliel is an incredibly determined person, even to a fault. Once she's set her mind on something, she very rarely changes it. She's been described as loyal, and at times she can come across as being rather stern. An extremely caring person, Lindliel tends to worry more often than she probably should, even for those she doesn't know well.
• Her mother was born in the land of Leosa, but at a fairly young age, moved to Aurelia to join The Church of the Sun, and eventually became High Priestess of the Church. Lindliel's future was decided from day one. Being born into the Church, and expected to one day succeed her mother as High Priestess, she had very little knowledge of the world outside of it's great walls, save for what she could obtain through the many texts held within the Church, and her rather limited exposure to the city, gained on trips to the marketplace, and similar outings.
  
  
  Schooled in Holy magic, especially healing, since a very young age, Lindliel is rather talented, though has a very narrow scope of what she's able to do with her magic thus far. Anything not seen as being "beneficial" to the Church, has not been included in her studies. As such, Lindliel has very little, if any, offensive capabilities when it comes to magic. Her determination to learn other types of magic has put her at odds with the church, eventually resulting in her excommunication, and the revocation of her title of Priestess.

• Aubrey enjoys the finer things in life, such as expensive jewelry, clothing, and company. Many would consider her rude and snobbish, and she is to anyone who isn't as well learned or well endowed as her. The quickest way to befriend her (or at least make her interested in you) is to show an interest or knowledge of the Esrael Lands, which Aubrey is obsessed with.
• The youngest daughter of a wealthy baron and baroness in Aurelia, Aubrey has wanted for nothing. Her food, housing, relationships, education, everything has been spoon fed to her since her first days to walk the Earth. She was set up to marry the middle child of the Lord of Aurelia's capital district when she was sixteen, and was officially married on her nineteenth birthday.
  
  
  While living with her husband, Aubrey learned all about the Esrael Lands from any tome she could get her hands on, but there was never enough information. She became obsessed with the jungle, wanting to know more and more about it, letting the obsession consume her. Her husband grew concerned as Aubrey spent more and more time in the family library, searching every inch of their many books for more explanations.
  
  
  Then one day Aubrey just left, abandoning her new and old families out of nowhere. All she had left behind was a letter with one word on it:

• Aubrey has limited magical ability, having all sorts of maids and workers to use magic in her place.
  
  
  With weapons, Aubrey is only trained as a professional duelist and archer, so any practical skills for fighting are nonexistent. If the target is even barely moving she's unable to hit, even at the closest distance.

• Dante is usually quiet and secretive. He enjoys wealth and will be consumed by greed and lust. With his greediness, Dante also loves to gamble with money, usually testing his luck in most situations where he's cornered. He is also quite charismatic.
• The sin city of Xera was where Dante was born. Dante's parents were a mystery. He knew his mother until she died of illness when Dante was of young age. The only information of his father was when his mother told him about how they met. She mentioned he was a wolf half-beast who was so kind to love a human woman.
  
  
  Dante lived alone during his teens. The only way he made money was robbing people, through gambling. In the streets and alleys he would have places set up for gambling, he acted like a business man but learned how to cheat like a consman. Ripping people off for their money. During his school years, Dante learned about magic. Because of his father's half-beast blood, he has some affinity with nature and elemental magic.
  
  
  Despite having a mother who's human and a father who's a half-beast, Dante doesn't have many visible animal atrributes. However, his hair grows faster than most humans and his eyes look like a wolf's. His ears are slightly pointed but he covers it with his wide brimmed hat which he wears almost all the time outside.
• Dante's last name 'Kurona' came from his father which translates to "Dark One" in Japanese. Quite fitting for a wolf half-beast. Dante may have magic tricks involving cards.

• Mercer is a very adventurous person. Since he was little he could never hunker down and stay in one spot for very long. He enjoys the thrill of battle whether it be man or beast. The reason that he took to monster hunting was that he wanted to defend those who could not defend themselves. I he could make some coin off if it, all the better. Mercer can be very chivalrous and polite when people get to know him. there are few things that he loves more then sharing drinks and tales around a fire with others. He tends to have a very cynical and sarcastic sense of humor. Still, he should be considered ruthless in battle. He will always make the kill under any circumstance with zero hesitation. He however does not believe in unjustified death, and requires a good reason to do so be it self defense or trying to save another.
• Mercer grew up in his family's manor located in the frozen mountains of Aurelia. His entire family was nobility, yet he hated the lifestyle that they lead. The only advantage that it gave him was training in swordsmanship and lessons on alchemy. Still, his irritation and dread for "The Game" of court out weighed all of the positives. at the age of 12 he renounced this claim as heir and set of to train with a traveling monster hunter by the name of Ulfric. Ulfric taught young everything that he knew of slaying monsters. At the age of fifteen he and Ulfirc took on a contract to kill a Wrym that was terrorizing villagers. It was a long and gruesome battle, one that would claim the life of Mercer's mentor. When the battle was over, Mercer buried Ulfric on the same hill where the Wrym laid dead.
  
  
  Mercer traveld on his own for quite a while afterwards, crossing into different kingdoms. He has seen more of the world than most ever would, from forests to deserts and mountains to oceans. However the danger is never lost on him. He knows the true horrors that this world hides and he strives to eliminate them all. Trolls one day & drowners the next, his life had never been easy since he left the Ancrath Manor. Still all of this has hardened Mercer and has shaped him to become extremely deadly. His alchemy rivals that of the top professors and his swordsmanship is nearly unparalleled. He carries a wide variety of arms and armaments on his pitch black steed, Bucephalus. His weaponry includes twin daggers, a silver rapier, twin short swords, a crossbow, a handgonne (a handgonne is basically a primitive hand cannon), and a silver buckler.
  
  
  
• His character is designed to be great at fighting monsters and normal humans, elves, half-breeds, etc. He knows nearly all styles and strategies of swordplay from noble fencing to all out dogfights against groups of men or beast. The only times that he runs into problems are when his opponents are strong magic users as he possess none himself. If that is the case he has to either get real tricky or just retreat and re-strategize.

• Basil is friendly and polite, but only for the initial greeting and is generally very secretive when people start to pry. He's not very good around other people for extended periods of time, having split from his tribe several years ago to strike out on his own. For the most part, he's an open book and very easy to read, making him suspicious of people who hang around him too long.
• There isn't really anything particularly special about Basil, at least in his eyes. He started out in a very nomadic tribe of half-beasts, always moving from one oasis to another in an attempt to escape the ever expanding reach of the Galadrian Empire. Growing up on the beliefs of the tribe, he believes the desert is an untameable force and trying to do so will only end in the destruction of any permanent settlements. Having been almost all over the desert, he can navigate it fairly well, and after finally deeming himself capable of surviving on his own struck out to find his own way in life.
  
  
  Now, he drifts from oasis to oasis, scavenging what he can and occasionally entering settlements for more industrial goods. As it is, his current occupation is as a navigator through the desert. Despite his ingrained distaste for the human settlements cropping up around the oases, his distaste for needless death generally outweighs those feelings. There aren't that many oases in the desert, and the ever changing landscape makes it very hard to for someone unfamiliar with the area to find their way, even with demon magic. He has a natural affinity for the air, and uses it on a variety of ways, both mundane and aggressive.

• Shiiral is incredibly kind and loves helping people, he is sometimes referred to as "The Guardian", specifically in Leosa but also around the world, due to his feelings for the forest, he treats the forest and any of it's inhabitants like a parent would a child. He loves the forest. And would gladly die protecting it. Shiiral is described as intelligent, adventurous and protective. He is generally just a nice person to be around. The only thing that can get him angry is when harm comes to the forest. That's when the other side of him shows. And that isn't a pretty sight.
• Shiiral was born into one of the Noble elf houses within Leosa, throughout his life he had the best life a child could ask for. He got everything he ever wanted and more, he was treated like royalty. Although he hated it. In reality Shiiral just wanted to be treated like everyone else, instead of spending his time inside the halls of his family home, he would spend his time mingling in the towns speaking to the citizens and even helping them with their day to day lives, but he spent the majority of his time wandering the lush forests. He still does today.
  
  Shiiral's family eventually gave up with treating him like royalty all of the time and let him do whatever, although they made sure that he would be accompanied by a guard at all times, this guard ended up becoming Shiiral's best friend, Mathios. Shiiral spent 5 years of his life exploring the whole forest, training and learning the magic he would come to wield, nature magic. Which comes from the very essence of the forest itself, he literally has part of the forest inside of him, of course the magic that flows inside of him is unique, only he has the magic of the forest, and so far in history only he has had this magic and the relationship with the forest that he has.He knows every inch of the forest and knows pretty much everything about it, but won't share this knowledge with anyone. He is also an expert with the healing remedies/magicks of the forest as well as an excellent nature elemental.
  
  He has never been in any other parts of the world.
  
  
• Shiiral is the youngest born child of the Elven Noble House Vhelan, which reside solely in the pristine forests of Leosa. Shiiral is a nature elemental mage, and is very good at wielding his magic. He has no swordsmanship skills whatsoever. His magic type is Free Form.

• Xian Liu

  Contrary to the image, Xian's hair is a dark brown, almost black, and he has two white tiger ears on the top of his head. Due to his half-beast heritage, Xian also has tiger markings on his skin, stretching all over his arms and torso. Xeran clothing covers the markings quite well but when the sleeves of his shirt are pushed up, the markings are clear as daylight. Of course, he has a white tail with black tiger stripes.
  
  
  Xian's approximately 5'6 and is a medium build. His skin is mostly scar free but there are plenty of healing scars from his time outside of the palace. His fighting style, if he fights at all, is all from Xera and he's pretty capable at holding his own when it comes to the average monster.
  
  
  Most of his belongings were stolen during the first three months of his "freedom" but Xian's been able to keep his hand around his dagger for five months. But then he sold it for a good amount of food and a place to stay. Pretty good idea to sell a family heirloom, eh?
• As a former prince of the Xeran Empire, Xian Liu is a laid back individual who lets other people do things for him rather than doing it himself. His intelligence is wasted on things like "How can I pour a glass of juice without having to move?" and "What are some new excuses to not do any work?" so Xian's become a very innovative(?) person. His mother lectures him frequently about having done nothing with his life however Xian's developed a talent for only listening to the important parts. Also known as the parts he'd have to repeat to fool his mother into thinking he was actually listening.
  
  
  Xian can actually be a very charismatic person, due to the immense skill he has in coaxing people to do his work. Although he does not think of himself as a natural leader, the many classes and lessons that Xian actually attended taught him well in world history, the arts, arithmetic, and much more. Then again, he started skipping, only coming once in awhile to make sarcastic comments and annoy the teachers before leaving. The former prince is not that great with money, having grown up with a large amount of wealth, more than anyone would ever need in a lifetime. But that's all in the challenge of getting kicked out into the real world, right?
• Prince Xian Liu IV of the Xeran Empire was a tricky and clever tiger ever since he was a small boy. His tutors were often victims of his childish pranks and foolish shenanigans. He was a smart young man, that was out a doubt, but all the intelligence was used in the wrong way. Xian's mother, the empress dowager, did her best to discipline the boy and she succeeded...in some sort of way. Xian's prank phase passed and there was even a period of time where he was actually well behaved. However, all good thing must come to an end.
  
  
  Xian stopped coming to class and refused to meet with the tutors; even if he did go, he didn't listen and would just play around with his elemental magic while staring out the window. He became a lazy cat lounging around the palace and annoying the servants. Sometimes Xian would spar with the warriors and his siblings but even then, he did absolutely nothing but take up space in the palace. He even refused and completely destroyed any opportunity to marry him off to a lovely noble lady by insulting her appearance!
  
  
  Finally, the empress dowager was fed up with her son's performance and, along with the rest of his family, disowned him from the royal family of Xera. Xian was sent out from the north to travel around the world. His mother's last words before shoving him out the doors of the palace were, "Go do something with your life you, NEET!" Having ignored the entire speech he had before getting kicked out, Xian assumed that he would have to do achieve something great in the world in order for his family to let him back in the palace.
  
  
  As the narrator, I sigh. This is going to be a long ride because this boy thinks that getting up in the morning is an achievement of its own.
• As a half-beast, Xian is a fluent elementalist specializing in the element of water. Although he can use other elements, Xian finds water the easiest to manipulate and sticks to it with the stubbornness of a bull.

  Markus is a tall stocky man, with a blond shaggy beard as well as his unkempt hair, accompanied by some well-worn scars across his face. No doubt there are more littered across his body that are just not visible under his clothing.
• People who have met Markus would probably say he fits the personality of a grumpy old man. Irritable, ignorant, selfish and stuck in the past. Of course this is ignoring the fact that he is only 35. Markus is hardly a sociable person. The most conversation someone can get out of him is if he is asking them for another cup of whatever type of beer there is wherever he is drinking away his troubles. When the (not so)old man is actually sober (even when he's not he can still put up a good fight) Markus is a strong man, skilled with sword, axes and the like and it seems to be one of the few times he seems even slightly happier than being grumpy in a corner as per usual. That, or maybe when he hears some cruel joke which he finds humorous. It's not surprising considering how cynical and pessimistic he is.
• Markus Vaunn, orphaned at a young age he grew up as a street urchin for practically all of his childhood on the streets of Galadria. A tough life that taught him how to survive in the big bad world. It was a rough living for the poor boy, but it only got worse once he finally was old enough to participate in the fights at the coliseum. Th young Markus didn't know what else he could do to make a living at the time. Thievery certainly wasn't his forte. being about as silent and elusive as an elephant. Through brute strength, and a lot of luck he managed to actually survive the first few fights.
  
  
  As the years went by Markus grew tired of entertaining bloodthirsty nobles in the coliseum. The man wanted to do something more with his life other than senseless killing of some other gladiator who was usually there by force. With the experience of battle under his belt, Markus decided to take up the role of a sellsword. Hoping to feel some sort of fulfillment and usefulness from protecting caravans and whatnot. He still continues to call this his profession, but usually wanders the land looking for any other type of job that can get him money to keep him fed and full of alcohol.
• When it comes to weaponry, Markus knows the basics, but certainly isn't one for graceful flurries with a blade and dexterous parries. No, the brutes fighting style is a "Smash first, ask questions later." type where he tries to use sheer brawn and brute strength to win, with perhaps the occasional tactical move or attack here or there. Usually you will see the old gladiator with a great sword, but if forced to, he can certainly use another weapon such as an axe relatively well if available. Strength certainly isn't a limiting factor for him (although he certainly doesn't have superhuman strength!).

• Calculating, cool and cunning. Kalixa heeds no man and bows to no king. Petty things such as conscience nor morals have hold on her. She has no qualms about killing or ruining anyone and anything that stands in the way of her current objective, whatever it might be at any given time. While she is not evil, in the sense that she will not kill for no reason (a waste of time and effort), Kalixa knows she is no white Knight and is perfectly content with that.
• Unlike most elves, Kalixa Te'leith was not born in the sunny, sweet scented evergreens of the fabled forests in Leosa. No, she was born in the deceptively elegant hive of backstabbers and criminal enterprises of Xera. Her mother was a elven witch of great magical knowledge who was banish from Leosa for illegally practicing soul magic, and even worse, depleting the life force of the beautiful creatures of the fae lands for her own experiments into the forbidden arts. The witch had spent her whole life studying magic incantations and free magic, but had grown bored. Soul Magic was enticing in it's mysterious, forbidding ways and it's dangerously powerful potential.
  
  
  While formally, the elves did not have a kingdom per se, a gathering of elders and respected figures in their community decreed for all elves to shun Kalixa's mother. As most elves naturally cherished nature and it's lifeforms, they saw Kalixa's mother as a criminal of the worst kind, happy to be rid of the soul-witch. Thus the mother settled down in the one place where no one cared and even fewer asked questions. She taught Kalixa everything she knew from sword fighting, to enchanting, spell weaving and even elven smithing. She was a harsh teacher, but an effective one. Kalixa learnt other skills from the harsh, dog-eat-dog world of Xera. Deception, blackmail, murder. All part and parcel of the very basics needed to survive there.
  
  
  But only on her death bed, did her mother finally reveal to her knowledge of Soul Magic. A stash of scrolls hidden, containing her forays into the forbidden magic and half developed rituals.
• Kalixa is a competent swordswoman, and metals smith. She has travelled widely across the entire continent, excluding Leosa, so is both well read and well travelled. She is very, very competent in most freeform and incanted spells, but has focused most of her life into learning Soul Magic. Kalixa is also nearly half a century older than she should be, the very forbidden ritual that banished her mother from their homeland, allows her to absorbs souls of living beings to lengthen her life span, the bigger, older and more magical the better. Unfortunately the ritual is slowly degrading in effectiveness, forcing Kalixa to seek out larger and more powerful foes for their souls.
  
  
  She has a travelling companion, a half-beast warrior.

• Haidar Borysko.

• Haidar is everything a Lion should be. Hyper-aggressive, proud, prickly, and regally honorable when it suits him. He enjoys a good, tough opponent and values strength above all. Others might think him narrow minded and impulsive beyond control, and while he is certainly not the type to hold his tongue or back down from a fight, he has enough cunning to even some battles are not worth picking. Unlike his mistress, Haidar is not heartless and will not do things he considers dishonorable. He will not fight with opponents he considers beneath his skill, nor will he harm non-combatants unless ordered to. Haidar is fiercely, fanatically, immovably loyal to Kalixa, for what she lacks in physical strength was made tenfold in strength of her intelligence. While he does not always agree with her methods, and is not afraid to question them, ultimately Kalixa's word is law.
• Haidar was a former Sun Knight. Noble, proud, and revered as the Church's symbol of power and justice. But as the years dragged on by, and peace settled over the lands, the Lion-Beast grew restless as dust gathered on his armor and weapons. The quiet atmosphere of meditation and quietness of the church grated him, he yearned to be free. To battle. To feel the thrill of blade crashing against blade, and the joy of an opponent bested.
  
  
  He grew disillusioned, snappy, abrasive towards his fellow knights and the issue grew till he too was banished from the order. He roamed the lands, happily, as a mercenary and fought as much as he pleased with no stifling code of rules and regulations. But the life of a sellsword is only worth so much gold, no honor amongst thieves - mercenaries in this case - as the saying went, and during a job to escort some precious jewels was ambushed, overwhelmed by sheer numbers despite the terrible casulties he inflicted. Stripped of his armor and left to die, naked by the side of road rarely travelled, he black out from his wounds fully expecting never to wake up.
  
  
  Kalixa, humming happily walked down the path, gently examining the pretty, precious stones Haidar had been escorting. The ambushers had thought to further increase their profit margin, a shapely, gorgeous elf woman would fetch a nice price down at the slave market. Sadly for their depleted numbers, the witch unknowingly avenged Haidar by killing the would-be-kidnappers, eagerly relieving them of their stolen stones. Seeing a broken, bloodied figure by the side of the path she had considered moving on, none of her business after all, who robbed or attacked who. But then she saw the various other bodies all poorly, hastily hidden around Haidar and decided if he caused that much trouble, maybe he could cause more trouble for her own purposes.
  
  
  Ten years on, Haidar is content in Kalixa's service as her bodyguard. Plenty of fighting to be done, no grand quests or rules or be followed. Kalixa didn't really care much for wealth beyond using it to further her own quests, so most of the loot and coin she gave him to spend. And a mistress whom he respected. Life for the Lion was good.
• A warrior all his life, Haidar is an expert in most melee weapons and has nearly thirty year's of combat experience and tactics. He is less proficient in magic, only knowing rudimentary incantations - mostly healing and defensive spells. He hadn't put much stock in magical combat, considering it inferior to the sword and shield. But his service with Kalixa has changed that, and now although reluctantly, he accepts lessons both practical and theoratical in the arcane arts.
  
  
  Being a half-beast, Haidar is stronger and faster than your average human, alongside the ability to tolerate more pain he has a slightly faster tissue regeneration rate. His immune system is also stronger than most humans.

Thick ivory ram horns curl around her ears, which are slightly further down on her head than a human's and pointy. Her eyes are a reddish brown. She stands at 4 feet, 7 inches, and has a very lean build. Her legs are those of a goat, which can help her to be more adaptable to different terrains. She carries daggers and throwing knives in the belts wrapped around her hips.
• Aelia is strong, fiesty, witty, and often harsh. She refuses to let anyone step on her, and it takes a long time and a lot of effort to become truly close with her. She is closed off and distant, and often is lost in thought. Most people are too afraid to ask what she's thinking about in fear that she'll attack them, but most of the time it's nothing too crazy. Despite this, she can occasionally be very volatile when provoked. Her rudeness is typically a defence mechanism due to her less-than-ideal past, but it's not like she would let anyone know so.
• The first breath that Aelia took was in the wilderness of Leosa. Her father was the only parent that she had; she didn't know what a mother was so she didn't ask, and he wouldn't have told her anyway. As a skilled hunter, her father could provide for them well in the forest, and taught her the basics of what she needed to know to become apt to survive on her own. She taught herself the rest from there through trial and error. She used the dark power within her to help steal food and money for her father so they could live together decently, not always fearing the wild things.
  
  
  Eventually she saved up enough and went to pay for a small wagon in Leosa to get lumber with. She couldn't build things with her powers, as far as she knew. She could only destroy them. So it was with her bare hands that she planned to build them a cottage.
  
  
  But the authorities knew that she didn't come by the money honestly, and had received complaints about stolen cash. They promptly got her to confess to her crimes, and sent her off to Aurelia to be jailed. She stayed miserable and violent in a cell until she turned 16 and was set free. The five plus years in jail had hardened her, and she knew better than ever how to fight and use her magic. She learned also to be civilised; she couldn't let herself be locked up again because of awful social skills. She lived under the wing of a rich family until she turned 21, and then moved out to explore the world on her own.

  As you can see, Ri has the slightly softer facial features and slender build of an elf, but she's still sturdy enough to pass as a particularly dainty human. Ri's eyes are naturally brown like her human father, but she uses glamour magic she learned from those in the small village who took care of her to change them frequently. Pictured is a golden color. Her hair color, however, is natural and inherited from her human father. From her late mother, she has the flawless skin and arching brows of common elven beauty.
  
  
  She measures 34-26-36- quite slender by human terms, but quite wide for an elf. She has more of an hourglass shape than most elven women, possessing the broad chest and shoulders found in humans. She is as tall as her father though- 5"8'. She tends to dress in slinky, svelte clothing to play up how skinny she is and downplay how broad her chest and hips are, and frequently wears hoods to cover her ears. Through a genetic anomaly, one came out pointy and one came out rounded.
• Ri finds herself caught between two worlds, and wholly unsure of to which she belongs. She knows she could rise high in human society- beautiful women almost always do- but the world of elves is all she's ever known. She always loves to experiment with new things and loves to branch out and explore, especially with food and wine. She tends to assume the worst of people, though, and if motives are in question, Ri will always jump to the very worst conclusion. That's not to say she isn't friendly, and as long as she has no reason to doubt you she is a sweet and gentle creature-- almost docile, in truth. But if she feels betrayed, she will retreat back into her shell and hate you behind a smile and a wall. She feels intensely, and loves ferociously the people who she trusts and hated viciously the people who have hurt her- but you can barely tell the difference, because she hides it all behind a practiced mask.
• In a story all too common among the elves, her mother died in childbirth- giving birth to an abnormally large baby. Her mother was unmarried, so her bastardy wasn't news. Her humanity was. Her father had been a traveler who visited her mother's winery while passing through, and presumably consumed a large volume of product- which is to say, he got drunk. The only person who knows any more than that, though, is dead. Ri was named by the local women for her shamed parenthood- Wine, after the drink that brought her into the world. She was raised by the community as a whole until she was about 20, and despite her youth, was given the keys to her mother's old winery and told to fend for herself.
  
  
  Thee winery hadn't been touched in 20 years- since her birth. The village was sick of her, the winery was rotted and she didn't know a thing about running a business, and all Ri had was her pretty face. So she did was only too many girls did and married herself off. She was barely old enough to be considered, but with persistence she found herself a fiancee. He was 10 years older than her and a drunk who wanted her for the winery, but Ri knew she had no other options. The village women yet again came together to prepare her for the ceremony, she decided she did have another option- to fight. She gathered her skirts and walked home the seven miles to her winery, and hung up a sign that read "OPEN."
  
  
  Ri engaged in shrewd business tactics- offering partial profits in exchange for teaching her how to make the wine, offering to cater an event in exchange for wood to repair the winery, and offering room and board in exchange for work. She found as the years passed, she had grown a booming business that expanded to become a full inn and brewery, and earned two full-time employees that could run the business almost as well as her. Yet Ri found herself with more money than she had things to spend it on, and no one to spend it with. So she took her money, and her fancy clothes, and ten bottles of her best wine, and bought passage to Xera.
  
  
  Ri had never known how sheltered she was in the forest, running her winery, until she saw the capital city. She thought she'd seen every type of halfbeast imaginable passing through the forest, but she found that it was the first of many truths that she would unlearn in the city. In fact, for the first time in her life, Ri wasn't seen as damaged goods, but an exotic beauty. Her body, which was seen before as bulky and awkward, was seen as sleek and lithe. And Ri realized that if she could run a winery, she could do anything. She's been in the city for almost two months now, and intends to find and finance a new adventure-- be it here, or in the Dracon Desert, or in the Esreal Lands, Ri wants adventure.
• Ri knows very little magic beyond what she used for running the winery: lighting fires, cleaning, a bit of healing, and the like. When it comes to magic, she has talent, but no teacher or need to apply her natural aptitude.

  Ruai'ra Lux is a man of slender yet subtly powerful build. He stands at the height of 5'10", his physique lithe and elegant, but underneath his clothing lies hard, defined muscle. His skin is milky and pale; it never seems to tan or burn, despite the amount of time he's spent travelling under the sun.
  
  
  Ruai's hair falls down to his lower back, an thick, untamed affair, pale gold in colour. His eyes are an unusual amethyst purple, narrow and feline in shape. However, from his hairline to his lower cheek stretches a dark, jagged scar, uneven in width and shape. Was it a claw that made it? A blade? He'll never tell.
• Ruai, to put it simply, is an enigma. However, this fact isn't obvious; he always seems courteous, pleasant and humorous, if somewhat evasive. Asking him about himself always ends up going around in circles. He has a countenance that oddly makes you want to trust him. It may be something to do with his silver tongue, or maybe his patience and charming nature. Who knows? However, there's something missing about him, something that just strikes off.
  
  
  It's difficult to put a finger on, perpetually nagging at your subconscious, and when you grasp for it it's gone. But, you can see it when you look him in the eye.
  
  
  It's like looking into they eyes of a dead man, a strange emptiness that betrays no feeling, no emotion, no nothing. His smile, however genuine it seems, never reaches his eyes. This often puts the few people who notice it on edge, even if they don't realise it. You suddenly start to wonder how much he says is actually true, or whether it's all fabrication, intricately woven lies designed to ensnare and enthral, and whether who he says he his is actually the real Ruai Lux.
  
  
  I wouldn't discount your suspicions. If anything, they often underestimate him. Beneath his pretty face and benevolent personality is a nature people under the sun wouldn't wish to linger on, hidden from the world by a façade so mastered it's near impenetrable. His true self is one to be feared.
• Ruai'ra Lux was born to a Noble family, the youngest of two brothers. From a young age, he took an interest in magic; over the years, it quickly evolved from just an interest to a hobby, and from a hobby to a full-blown obsession. He just couldn't get enough of it - the rush of adrenaline from the raw power that he was capable of. His Demonic magic was strong, especially as arcane prowess was something that runs in his blood.
  
  
  His studying was interspersed by numerous social events, training with the sword and regular quarrels with his brother Kaelta, older than him by two years. The two of them had never got along, but as they grew older, their arguments also grew worse. Where Ruai's Magic flourished, Kaelta's failed. It was a bitter rivalry, scarred by jealousy. His parents were of the kind sort, yet distant. They favoured Ruai'ra, but never realised the effect it had on Kaelta.
  
  
  Yet Ruai'ra's obsession slowly began to consume him. Power was all he sought, and the boundaries he had obeyed albeit with frustration before, he no longer cared for. Of course, his parents had no idea; they were too wound up in their own affairs to see the slow deterioration of Ruai's mind, how obsessed and driven he had become. But Kaelta did. Kaelta was the only one who truly knew what was happening, and just what kind of books he was reading. He began to feel what he was too proud to acknowledge before: the brotherly bond that, while weak, had held on throughout the years that they had fought through. His pride wouldn't allow him to admit he cared, that he wanted to help. But seeing Ruai'ra one day, the mess he was in - he couldn't hold it off anymore.
  
  
  He confronted Ruai, slipping inside his room before he could shut the door. He told him his concerns, told him how he regretted not being there for him, for letting him turn into what he had become. But how Kaelta underestimated his younger brother.
  
  
  Before he had even realised what had hit him, he was flung halfway across the room. He looked up, dazed, shocked and confused, only to see Ruai'ra casually inspecting the blade of a knife he had drawn from his belt. Shock quickly turned to horror as he met his eyes. He knew, then and there, what Ruai intended to do. But not if he could help it.
  
  
  They fought then and there, but unlike times before, Kaelta was fighting for his very life. He had never realised how far gone Ruai'ra truly was, and unfortunately for Kaelta, Ruai was winning. It wasn't long before he was pinned to the ground, weapon out of hand. But before he could begin the fatal Soul Magic on his brother, Kaelta just reached the knife and slashed it across Ruai'ra's face in a final attempt to save his life. It threw him off balance, enough for Kaelta to escape, but it didn't slow Ruai for long. He hunted Kaelta down relentlessly, but he had found the soldiers patrolling the streets before Ruai found him. It was in that state that Kaelta last saw his younger brother - blood dripping from the gash in his face, features contorted by a near demonic, feral fury. But he had lost. He was forced to run, charged with attempting to perform forbidden magic, and certainly not out of self defence.
• Ruai'ra's skill relies mainly on his magic; he was born with an undeniable flair for it. However, due to his noble upbringing, he could also wield a sword with no small amount of of skill, but he hasn't picked up a blade in years. He never carries one on his person, and doesn't particularly enjoy using one either.

He doesn't where Egyptian eye makeup either and totally abstains from any artificial beauty standards aside from dying his hair. And that, my friends, is another story entirely (see Other).
  
  
  Being part wolf he naturally has a tail... it just comes with a catch. His tail - barely 4 inches long and black at the tip - was burned as a child and never properly grew back, leaving a huge embarrassment for its owner. Avi keeps it hidden on a regular basis because of this.
  
  
  Other details of note include his height, a mildly impressive 5'11, and his build - skinny but muscular. Additionally he has 3 piercings in his right ear (as pictured) and one on his right brow (also as pictured).
• Avi plays it rough 'n tough, true to his unkempt, gruff appearance. He's a would-be delinquent and a wanna-be brawler - that is if he were either in school or a paid fighter in an underground boxing ring. But as his walk of life has been, he can only act and live up to his dream role, which he does swimmingly. If you can take pride in not having friends, relationships, or connections, Avi can. And really he can't blame anyone but himself for being alone, because he chooses to be that way. Though not self-deprecating, he basically hates his own guts as a Half-Beast and channels his self-hate at other people. He'll start a fight given the opportunity and feel good about knocking his opponent out cold. Similarly he won't talk to anyone without practically being forced.
  
  
  His wit is extensive but untouched, because if someone has the opposite of a silver tongue, Avi does. And if someone lacks manners, Avi does. By accident if someone says the worst thing at the worst possible moment, Avi says it on purpose. It's true, the Half-Beast has nearly perfected the art of an anti-socialist. In his free time he gets high off magic or smokes death sticks, hardly giving the world around him the slightest recognition.
  
  
  But truth be told, as the cliche phrase is, Avi was, still is, a pyromaniac. Big surprise for someone who uses fire magic, but the surprise bit is Avi's fear. Avi fears what he can create and control; he fights the constant urge to make fire with the constant fear of what he'll do, and that just makes him hate his guts further. He's unsure, unknowing of his powers, yet totally head-over-heels for the sparks he emits from his hand. It's a love-hate relationship that borders on insanity, and that's why Avi has to forcibly keep his emotions in check. With his emotions in check, his cravings are in check, and his fears are halted. A thought like "I want to burn that fat lady's arse" is more easily dismissed by the disdainful thought "Look at that fat lady's big, bulging arse," which is another reason for Avi's rude attitude and unapproachable nature. He brings about a unique kind of misery on himself through another misery he doesn't have the ability to cure, leaving him in a miserable cycle that he denies by furthering others' misery. Really, Avi's miserable.
• An only child and fatherless, Avi spent most of his childhood alongside his mother 24 hours a day. She was not only his mother and caretaker, but also his teacher as an elementalist. Fire was the small Half-Beast's to control from a very early age, which inevitably gave birth to his pyromania. He was swiftly independent, head-strong, and feisty after the discovery of his powers. Domination was the object of his wild dreams, but he'd never even begin to get there without bumps in the road.
  
  
  The first bump was burning off his tail, which caused such excruciating pain Avi didn't even think about igniting a spark for weeks. Another bump came when he started a house fire after brawling with a neighbor, soon leading to he and his mother living under a shack's roof in Leosa. Those days were hard, and Avi's mood never improved while there. He only grew darker and angrier, but unlike a typical teenager's mood swings, this was different. The only creditable thing Avi did in the forest was improve his elemental powers, but after soon developing the fear of his pyromania, that fell apart too.
  
  
  So what was next? What was left?
  
  
  Avi found his answer in muscular activity, such as pounding on rocks and climbing trees. This, however, only served as a distraction until he took to forging, which surprisingly didn't bother him considering his relationship with fire. But it was all in the past-tense the moment his mother fell ill. That's when the rock pounding and part-time forging jobs ceased to exist. And why? Because Avi left. He left his mother to welfare and fairies in Leosa and moved on. Deep in his heart he still wished to dominate the world, but depression had already sunk too far into his mind, and he trudged through life with tunnel vision. He traveled, took up random jobs to stay alive, and has continued on ever since. The meaning to his life was lost somewhere along the road, and he means to find it again... somehow, somewhere. Until then, his existence merely is, and every day Avi lives with a total lack of enthusiasm.
• As a Half-Beast, Avi is an adept elementalist specializing in the element of fire. However, he surprisingly has a talent for the element of earth, too, possessing a strong innate ability with herbs, medicines, and the like. With earth he's limited to creation and healing, contrary to his strength in combat and forging with fire, which balances out his magic. It's noteworthy though to say that Avi's used his ability with earth magic primarily to dye his hair.
  
  
  In terms of physical combat, Avi has no gift with a weapon, but can throw a pretty brutal punch. His preferred style of combat is hand-to-hand, as he's more than eager to brawl. If it came down to necessity, though, Avi could manage with a sword. It just wouldn't be pretty.

  Note: Leon is a relatively small young man, standing at five feet, three inches and weighing in at ninety-seven pounds and four ounces.
• Leon is a relatively quiet person, and tends to make decisions with logic. He almost always thinks things through, and never blows his lid or loses his sanity. Some people back home often referred to him as the voice of reason. However, when it comes to children or harming the innocent, he can get a bit more emotional. Leon isn't hard to get along with, but he doesn't often talk too much about himself. He doesn't often make jokes, but when he does, they are decidedly bad ones.
• Leonel was born to a poor family in the northern area of Xera. He never interacted with other people much, and watched pickpockets, muggers, and murderers roam the streets of the city. At one point when he was very young, he somehow managed to get lost in the streets, and didn't find his way back to his parents. Leon was found by a man visiting the city on vacation, and let the man take him in as his own. Leon didn't care much for his birth parents - he couldn't really, since he was still essentially an infant. Instead he lived with this man, named Arthurias Osorio, who traveled Xera as a snake-oil salesman of sorts.
  
  
  Arthurias was also a bounty hunter, however. He didn't take the money - he sent that towards improving the government and guard forces. What he cared about in that career was bringing people to justice - whether they were true scoundrels or corrupt government officials. Leon often injured himself, so Arthurias taught him more about keeping his balance and observing his surroundings, but Leon didn't think it was enough. He then tracked Arthurias on his next assignment, and watched him fight. Leon decided he wanted to be like this man. He asked Arthurias to teach him to fight, and reluctantly he did. Leon wasn't sure what he would use it for besides self-defense, but it helped him become what he is nowadays.
  
  
  One day Arthurias died while on the job. Leon was very sad, but he'd always known in the back of his mind it would happen eventually. After all, the guy was a killer - he was in as much risk as his targets. However, Leon liked the way Arthurias had thought and lived life, and remembered seeing criminals in the cities, maliciously ruining lives. Crimes and deaths caused a ripple effect - and the effect of Arthurias's death was that Leon decided to be just like his old man. He began to travel around Gaia as a sham merchant to support himself, and also killing and capturing criminals.
