Sheet Information
Character Generation
Aside from the usual fare, Lost in Words will also employ a rudimentary attribute & skill system. Think of these for the most part as avenues to quantify your character's skills and experiences, rather than a harder system like the one found in stuff like D&D.

Checks, a measure of how high one's Attribute or Skill is, will be the most common use of these points, and they will take place behind the scenes, but dice roll may occasionally be employed. You will be told how many dice to roll and with how many faces, based on your Attributes and Skills, and then add a modifier based on your relevant levels. There is no health stat or measure of damage, so these will exclusively be used as measures of success.

Attributes
Upon character creation, you will receive 3 "Restricted" Stat Points for each attribute category, (Physical, Social, and Mental), which can only be spent within their respective categories. In addition to this, you will receive 6 "Free" Stat Points, which can be spent in any category, giving you a total of fifteen. Points here represent a manner in which you are above the average Doll, that is to say a 0/5 in an attribute does not necessarily mean useless, but instead average, unless you wish for otherwise. Stat points will be distributed throughout the RP, but they will be fairly rare in comparison to Skill Points.

Skills & Knowledge
Separate from your Attributes are your Skills & Knowledge. These are exclusively learned abilities that your character has picked up over their time in the Library. Their applications are more specific than those of Attributes, so they many not be as useful as often, but they can be trained much more deeply, so they will count more when they are tested. You will begin to 10 "Free" Skill Points to spend however you wish upon character creation. Keep in mind, opportunities to earn Skill Points will be more common than ones to earn Stat Points, so you may not want to over level one or two skills immediately.

Lore

Ramstoke
0ddff1a63234433a96d2939cc33d53d8.jpg

Age:
93

Make:
Ragdoll

Height:
17 cm

History:
Ramstoke fell through the Great Chute, like many others before her, and she had a troublesome time of it, receiving a nice gash across her leg by a piece of debris during her small expedition around her birthplace. She was, out of luck, spotted by a group of other Dolls, and was promptly carried away for repairs. Impatient and impulsive, whilst she was waiting to be tended to, Rams promptly took up some tools lying nearby and sewed up her own leg.

Her 'doctor', as it were, noted her ability with a needle and thread, and took her under his wing. Rams remained in his care, following him across his job, watching him work. Occasionally, he may leave her in charge of his duties at his rudimentary clinic, allowing her to patch up tears that clumsy Ragdolls have stumbled into or a broken splints that clumsier Woodwork fell onto. For years, this has been the norm. After all, the claim of apprenticing under the esteemed Fixe Rupper himself was no small praise in and of itself. Ramstoke was content with this life, but a little bit of her still wished that she could do something more...

Physical Description:
A blue-skinned Ragdoll created to evoke the imagery of a dog, a nurse, and a Chinese vampire. Ramstoke sports several cross-like motifs across her body, including her 'skirt', her 'mouth', her calves, and her coat's collar, as well as bandage motifs on her thighs, 'ears', and collar. She is adorned with a poor excuse of a doctor's coat, if the length of its body traded places with the length of its sleeves. She has a scar running up her left leg, and she noticeably limps with it when moving anything faster than a jog. Though her mouth seems to be taped over by another cross, she doesn't seem to have much difficulty speaking. Not that she does much of that in the first place

Belongings:
Ramstoke carries with her a set of tools of her trade, mostly amounting to needles, thread, and splints of wood. While certainly enough for emergency patch jobs, she doesn't have all the tools and accoutrements to remedy particularly bad injuries. She doesn't carry much else, just the required necessities.

Risk (and Rowdy)
original.jpg
Name: Risk

Age: 15

Make: Woodwork

Height: 15.5 cm

History: Just your average woodwork that fell down the Great Chute, Risk had no idea who he/she was, where he/she was, or much of anything really. If not for the ragdoll that fell along with him/her, Risk might've been completely alone in the bustling, yet confusing town called Alexandria. However, unlike him, the other doll seemed to had a much worse fall. Or, perhaps, they were simply born unfortunate. Three centimeters tall with no hair, no apparent eyes, no skin, no limbs. It couldn't even move on its own, ripped an damaged as it was. The only thing that the doll had going for it was that it was smart and knew how to try and survive. It spoke to Risk. Gave "him" a name. "Taught" him things and ordered him, who had no idea what to do, around.Told him that they should try and stick together because they fell together...to which Risk had no objections. Risk (named thus because mites love him) could walk and Rowdy (named thus because it talked a lot) could read. Rowdy was the first to call them "brothers". Indeed, if there was such a thing as family among dolls, Rowdy would be the closest thing to Risk's family.

The first order of business for the duo was to learn about the new world they were sent to. Books were purchased with whatever meager amounts Risk could afford doing menial tasks around Alexandria and given to Rowdy to read. Rowdy would then teach Risk. That was how they lived for quite some time. Risk was satisfied with that. Rowdy wasn't. Rowdy wanted more. Rowdy wanted legs and arms to move. Skin, hair, and eyes to look pretty. The more Rowdy read, the more Rowdy yearned, and the more the yearnings were conveyed to Risk. However, it wasn't until they met the mannequin and former Scholar called Alabaster Ken that the direction of their life took a different turn. He and his "girls" (pretty, china-like, dolls that resembled females in pretty dressess) ran a doll cosmetic surgical center that specialized in making "ugly" dolls more "beautiful". Calling themselves the Beautifying Agency that Revitalizes and Brings In Elegance (BARBIE), they enticed Rowdy with pictures and examples of what they could make him/her look like.

The problem? Risk and Rowdy didn't nearly have enough signatures to pay for the operation, let alone the materials, for such a complicated procedure. Risk didn't care about looking "beautiful". However, Rowdy did, and Risk cared about Rowdy. It would be good to let his brother be able to walk on his/her own in a body he/she would want. Therefore, Risk became a Scholar to earn more Signatures and pay for Rowdy's operation (BARBIE Transformation). Learning more about their world sounds interesting too, of course. The stories Alabaster Ken told them were quite fascinating and both Risk and Rowdy had a become a bit bored as of late.

Physical Description: Half black hair, half white hair with a star pupil in one eye and a ring pupil in the other, it looks like Risk's designer didn't exactly know what they wanted when they created him and just mashed two ideas together. Otherwise, Risk is well-crafted and looks decently human-like for a woodwork. Almost enough to make Rowdy jealous. Wearing a plain white shirt and a pair of brown trousers, nothing about him really makes an impression other than his hair and eyes. In fact, he looks quite "normal" compared to many other dolls he'd seen. Then again, maybe "normalcy" is an abnormality in and of itself. Risk isn't especially big either, standing 15.5 cm tall and doesn't look especially threatening. Rather weak, in fact.

Belongings:

Rowdy, his 'brother', is always being carried by him and serves as a translator because Risk himself is only an average (not really) reader. It can't move, lift, or do anything on it's own, so it's really only as good as talking luggage.

A couple wooden daggers that Rowdy suggested he buy before leaving Alexandria in case they ever run into a mite. Not especially useful, but Risk could always toss it as decoy and run the other way if it comes down to it.

General Information
Name: Spook
Age: 30
Make: Woodwork
Height: 25 cm
History:
A doll that thinks a lot but doesn't talk much, Spook was initially misunderstood when he fell from the Great Chute, and the other dolls around met him for the first time. He didn't know his name, but someone named him Spook because of his eerie presence and the fact that he was scary to many of the other dolls. And the name stayed. Actually benevolent in nature, Spook always tried to look out for other dolls. He would always follow young daredevils and save them from Mites using his ability to move swiftly and decent dexterity. In other words, he grabbed them and ran away at the first hint of danger, often comming back with a missing arm he'd sacrifice for the big scary bugs.

While he couldn't save them all, he saved as many as he could. Doing this eventually made other dolls appreciate him more, but most were still wary of him. He never talked much, and while some appreciated mistery, many feared the unknown. In reality, he was just shy.

Name:
Daybreaker

Age:
467

Make:
Mannequin, with wooden right forearm and lower legs.

Height:
35 Centimetres

History:
To some the name Daybreaker means little, just errant claims of an ages old Doll that has died as many as hundreds of Dolls. The truth is much simpler, and slightly more tragic. Having fallen from the chute many years prior, Daybreaker, as well as a handful of similar fellows of abberant height and build, all took up the mantles of protectors and guardians for their Dolls. They faced both Mites and Puppets wherever they rose, and did so together.

Such a life doesn't come without hazards however, and over the years since the less than charasmatic Daybreaker found himself more and more often venturing forth alone as the band he'd once travelled with dwindled. These days Daybreaker instead finds himself commonly residing in the Barrier City, taking up the odd hunting job or protection detail when they arise. Otherwise, he has largely settled into a silent and pondrous life, questioning what to do with himself ever since his old friends had been lost.

Still, Dolls need protection, and he gives it gladly with his last companion, the forged Fallen's Honour.

Physical Description:
A hulking specimen of a Doll, Daybreaker has always towered over other Dolls, pushing the norms of size not just in height, but full build. His left arms, the remnant limb that he has not yet lost, shows that his originals clearly were big enough around to rival the breadth of many a smaller doll's torso. In lieu of his original lower legs and right forearm however, are wooden replacements, as he had lost the originals through the numerous scraps and scuffles with Mites and Puppets over the years. While he is often up front about it, it is no longer readily avaialable to tell he is a Mannequin Doll, as he now garbs himself in full wooden armor, leaving himself appearing almost as if a massive Wooden Doll.

If one ever manages to see behind the carved helmet that hides his face from the world, they would seen aged porcelain, cracked and wearied from abuse over the years. His right eyes is a hole broken through, with a wooden patch wrapped around his head to hide the hole from view. Elsewhere across his frame other cracks and damages can be found, any of which he's merely wrapped and covered with his armor.
(Imagine a big wooden 'Lawbringer' from For Honor)

Belongings:
Carved, heavy wooden armor.
A large sword, the Fallen's Honour, legendary only to himself. It is just shy of matching Daybreaker's own height, and consists of the wooden frame of a fallen friend. On the edges of the wood reside jagged and sharp pieces of porcelain, remnants of fallen friends still 'fighting' alongside him, fastened to the frame with rope and scraps of other fallen Ragdoll comrades. What exists is a massive 'sword' capable of shredding as well as bludgeoning, leaving Daybreaker equally capable of quashing any threat to his surviving Dolls.
An Expeditionary Pack, consisting of a grappling hook and rope, a prybar, and some fasteners for either fastening rope or making quick, half-assed repairs to his armor.

"I, Bengdrim Loplep, have a dream..."

  • Name:
    Bengdrim Loplep

    Age:
    252

    Make:
    Ragdoll

    Height:
    20 centimetres

    History:
Bengdrim Loplep is an ancient doll. His name comes from an intriguing, untranslateable few words in an ancient book that he assumes is about occult arts by men and women who worship an ancient deity of civilizations long gone, Garuda. Not even he knows what it means, and it's for the best, probably. He has lived in doll society for many centuries, practicing the ways of a pacifist, choosing to help instead of hurt. He has chosen to dwell in many arts to adapt himself to many a scenario. He is very benevolent to the point of believing that the true unity of dollkind is possible, something that dwells within his very philosophy of life.

    Belongings:
All of Bengdrim's belongings are stored in his shell. His shell has a zip that contours around it.
He has a small repair kit, though it works exclusively for plush and cotton. (It's a small sewing kit)
He has a diary with an accompanying pencil.

General Information

Name:
Scarecrow

Age: 103

Make: Mannequin, with his wooden lower legs/feet.

Height: 20 cm

Physical Appearance:
zmk2p7g.png

Scarecrow is a mannequin wrapped in heavy clothing and personal effects, with the only hint of him being made of porcelain being his exposed hands. He dropped through the chute with these clothes and as far as anyone knows he's never removed them. The mask he wears is constructed of wood, with various patches of cloth used to cover it. His cloak is torn and tattered from years of use, with the doll having yet attempted to fix it.

He's very cute under the mask.

Belongings: Scarecrow carries a makeshift club alongside a pair of wooden daggers, alongside a self-made map and a pack he carries with him.

History: Scarecrow is a former Scholar, having been with the group since he first arrived. However, wherever he went, bad luck seemed to follow with many of the groups he'd travel with winding up either almost entirely wiped out or horribly maimed. He wound up being seen as a bad omen and was given the boot from the rest of the Scholars after a few decades. Since then he's been content with being a sort of courier between the Doll settlements, delivering messages and packages from place to place. He's even taken it upon himself to retrieve the belongings or remains of Dolls that had gone out into the Outer Shallows or further and had never returned.

General Information
Name: 家途迂 簾琲 (Yato Shinzo)
Age: 312
Make: Mannequin
Height: 15 cm
History:
He was a strange one who fell from the chute in the sky when he first arrived. Having such a small structure while also the strange armor as his own flesh.... it seemed like he was born to battle from the very start of his life. The sword he wielded was like him.... a powerful and durable curved blade, waiting to be used to slice up a foe. And it did not help that he yearned for battle, trying to find worthy opponents to fight in order to sate his thirst for blood. Most would have expected someone with a nature like this to die soon..... but he had the last laugh for he had survived for 312 years after he first arrived to the Library, either outliving some who thought he would not survive to surviving with others for hundreds of years. This was due to the fact he kept his body well maintained, not getting into fights that would spell death to him, and making sure to use his brain when fighting opponents. Of course..... he wouldn’t have survived this long without any wounds, for a recent adventuring job had left his right leg filled with cracks, and while not near its breaking point, may break soon if hit hard enough.

The true nature of his name comes from a couple of strange but oddly familiar symbols on his sword, to which he understood as Yato Shinzo, a very uncommon name to say the least. Planning on retiring soon, he figured that one last big job before going to the civilian life he had never experienced his entire life.

Physical Appearance:
98E387B5-A257-4DDB-97FD-AAC7F768C506.jpeg
His armor seems to have some pieces that are able to be removed, such as his helmet, his shoulder pads, and the belt on his body. His right leg seems to have some cracks on it, but still seem hardy enough to take some blows without shattering completely
Belongings:
-A strange porcelain sword that was brought alongside with him through the Chute, it has been with his side for his entire life.
-A small journal that contains the experiences he has gone through his entire life.
-A Backup sword made of a hardwood, and was shaped like his Porcelain blade, but much smaller.

Black Gauna.pngName: Solo
Age: 108
Make: Ragdoll
Height: 20 cm
History: Almost immediately after acclimating to society following their fall from the Great Chute, the ragdoll who would later be known as Solo had an interest in exploring. Combined with the doll's natural scrappiness, Solo quickly took to the life of a Scholar, in spite of their relative frailty as a ragdoll. Venturing out from the safety of Alexandria, Solo quickly made a name for themselves before eventually being scouted for a notable group of explorers at the time who sought to establish another settlement beyond Barrier City. And, after accepting their proposal and journeying out, that was the last anyone had heard of the Scholar.

Decades passed before reports of a chitin-clad doll became commonplace near Alexandria. Looking just as horrifying as the monsters that many had fallen prey to before, the doll had come to assume a new identity - it seemed that those who once knew the ragdoll were either already gone or unable to recognize them. Dubbed Solo, in recognition of their tendency to hunt alone, the armored doll's fearlessness and sullen silence becametheir most well-known trait. And while Solo has ventured into the city to sell off spoils and goods from their explorations, it seems that they've made a home for themselves somewhere outside the walls of civilization.
Physical Description: With an armor as black as ink and carved features like the iconography of death found in books, it's quite hard to believe that there's a ragdoll within that terrifying bulk. Their voice is muffled slightly by the armor, giving it a sort of echo and gravitas to their speech.
Belongings:
Chitin Suit - A suit of all-encompassing black armor, crafted from the remains of a particularly large mite. While not quite as tough as porcelain, its lightweight makes manuevering about far easier than it'd seem.

Mandible Blade - A large two-handed sword crafted from the remains of a particularly large mite. While the outside is sharpened chitin, it maintains a sturdiness thanks to its wooden core.

Bishop Love__marchen_von_friedhof_sound_horizon_and_etc_drawn_by_bangoul__bc95e21ef9122d5de06b329f546f038a.jpg

  • Age: 470

    Make: Mannequin

    Height: 35cm

    History:
From the moment he was born, Bishop believed he could not live. The emergence of his conscious mind was greeted by awful sensations and sights, his descent from the Great Chute soon followed by Dolls that noticed his unique construction. Unlike them, he was not made of wood or plush. He was born with a cursed body, seen as a living resource by those that had the fortune of finding him first, mere moments after falling from the sky. His first memory was of their attempts at breaking his outer shell to collect pieces of precious porcelain. If they had started with the legs, it most likely would have been his last.

He was forced to run. It took time for him to understand why. He was desired for what he was rather than who he was. His status as a living being was secondary to his potential as an object, his limbs being useful to make tools that were of great help during the early years of his kind's civilization. If he encountered another Doll, he would surely be ripped apart once again. That possibility consumed his every waking moment. Would the Dolls that tried to harvest his parts remember his face? Would he cease to exist and be made into something else? Those thoughts were too much for him, forcing him to separate from every living thing.

Many years passed without any notable experiences. It was a lonesome existence filled with nothingness. Dolls didn't die so easily, their lifespans unknown unless they suffered a cruel end by being reduced to dust. Many individuals may not have thought much of that, but it weighed on him heavily. He was burdened with a never-ending life spent waiting for the moment he'd be ripped apart. An eternity of walking further into the shadowy depths of the Library to escape a budding civilization that only sought to do him harm, forced to live with only the Mites as company. What kind of existence was that? For what reason was he born? Was it just for the sake of being scrapped moments later? If so, it would have been better if he was never born at all. It was all too much to bear.

Rather than live an infinite amount of days drifting through the darkness until someone tore him apart, he decided to end everything. It was impossible to say what came after death. Maybe there was nothing at all. Regardless of the answer, anything would be preferable to the way things were. However, he still refused to let his body be used by the Dolls. If his life were to end, he wouldn't allow his death to benefit them. It was the only act of defiance he could manage, motivated by sorrow and spite. He'd sooner offer his body to the Mites.

Wishing to end his life, he continued walking deeper into the Library, each step made without a single thought crossing his mind. His mind was vacant, having given up on everything. It was far past the time to be concerned with hopes and desires, fantasies about how things could have been different, and the conflicting feelings of hatred and wanting to be accepted. He lived with fear for so long, but there was none of it as he offered himself to whatever force destroyed him. Whether it be the Mites, or just a great fall, he accepted it all.

When he finally recovered from his disconnect with reality, his vision was obscured by a large cloud of dust. He was in a horrible state, but unfortunately still alive. To make matters worse, he could see a shadowy figure through the powdery fog. Its body looked nothing like a Mite, only made more clear as it came closer, its hand reaching out to touch him. If it were possible, he would have chuckled, but he could only muster a melancholic smile. In the end, he couldn't avoid his fate. Nothing he did ever mattered. This was always the outcome that awaited him. Even if he tried to avoid it by ending his own life, he'd still be denied the only choice he was free to make. He was born for this purpose. He was always going to be torn apart like this. In that moment, he had no choice but to accept it, drifting into unconsciousness with the knowledge that his life meant nothing.

Much to his surprise, he awoke in a comfortable bed made of strange fabric, his wounds mended to some degree. Instead of being torn limb from limb, he was put back together. It was something that only another Doll could have done, but that fact conflicted with everything he had ever known, causing him great confusion that was amplified by his momentary delirium. That was when she walked in.

She expressed joy at seeing that he was awake, fussing over him to see if he was alright. It was behavior he had never seen before. While it obviously added to his confusion, it also terrified him a bit. It was unnatural. Still, he offered reluctant answers, his fear accompanied by something soothing that seemed to draw out a response. It was an uncomfortable experience filled with contradictions.

She introduced herself as Annabelle, explaining that she had brought him to her home after finding him during one of her explorations. It was a relatively secluded spot, away from the eyes of Doll communities, but a fair distance from the places where Mites were known to lurk. Only the two of them were here, and she offered him the use of her home for as long as he liked, able to stay until he was feeling well enough to leave. He couldn't explain why he accepted her hospitality. His injuries were a reasonable excuse, but in truth, it wasn't a significant motivator. Something just compelled him to do so.

He lived with her for weeks, barely saying a word unless asked a question. Despite his reluctance to speak, he found himself constantly stealing glances at the woman. She was an anomaly to him, always displaying kindness and understanding. She never asked anything about his history, as if she could sense his unspoken discomfort. She only ever asked how he was doing, always speaking to him with a soft smile. It made him uncomfortable, but not in a way that he would describe as horrible. He simply couldn't understand her. She saw him in such a state, but didn't ask why. She saw what he was, but didn't comment on it. Why? Her apparent lack of curiosity only fueled his own. Before he knew it, he couldn't stop thinking about her.

Their relationship progressed at a snail's pace, considering his reluctance to do something else besides stare at her all day. He eventually started helping her with daily chores around the house, feeling bad for letting her do everything alone after she had helped him so much. Despite his wariness, he would always approach her to ask about how he could help. He only hoped that he was able to hide his embarrassment when she commented about knowing he was a good person all along. Although, he refrained from assisting with one thing.

While he was curious about her, he was absolutely amazed by her craft. She spent most of her time with a thread and needle in hand, making dresses and other clothing. Everything she produced was wonderful to look at, including the expression she wore while working. He was captivated. One day, she finally called him out on his peeping, asking if he'd like to know more.

Annabelle loved to read everything she could, fascinated by stories and the worlds inside them. It was her desire to reproduce the beautiful things in those stories in her own life. Doing so brought her joy, but it wasn't for her sake alone. She wanted to share that feeling with everyone else. Including him, someone that she didn't even know.

When she felt comfortable enough to ask him for his name, he couldn't answer. He never had one. He never had the opportunity to decide things like that, far too busy trying to maintain his solitude to avoid being ripped apart. Because he lived a life like that, he couldn't understand why she wanted to bring joy to others and fill the world with beauty. Dolls didn't care about things like that. They were selfish, lacking any care for something other than themselves. They were awful things he wanted to join but couldn't, as they were just that awful. It was another contradiction, wanting to be accepted by something that he hated. He was awful for even feeling that way, but it was unavoidable. Dolls were horrible. That's why he couldn't understand her. He couldn't understand how she could be so caring.

Annabelle didn't respond to his emotional rant with horror, disgust, or anger. She simply smiled like always, her eyes revealing compassion and sympathy. She listened and understood, so she offered to help him understand. She wanted to show him something beyond the four walls of her home.

Despite feeling absolute terror at the prospect of walking into an area filled with Dolls, his curiosity was able to overpower his paranoia. Disguised by a handmade cloak, he accompanied her to a community he was forced to run from, watching as she handed out her clothes to those who needed them. He even helped hand out a few, which earned him thankful reactions. He saw many things that day, all of which he never had before. Smiles, sadness, and everything between the two. It served as a way to open his eyes, broadening his horizons beyond the years of horrible experiences. To think there were Dolls like this. In addition, he was also able to see why his caretaker secluded herself.

Annabelle had a reputation for rambling about things that made some Dolls uncomfortable. Her thoughts about why the Library, the books, and every Doll existed were the primary reason. Her absurd belief that there was something beyond what they could see, where the makers of these books originated. Somewhere out there, the beautiful things in those books had to exist. Until they could be found, she'd try to create some of that beauty herself.

After that day, the two of them became much closer. He tried his hand at needlework, proving to be a slow learner. Thankfully, he had a patient teacher who was appreciative of his efforts to help. He wanted to believe in her dream of seeing a world filled with beautiful things. He now knew that not every Doll was cruel, and he wanted to bring that beauty to see more of the smiles he was finally able experience. She gave him a reason to live. She also gave him a name. Instead of just being a living source of porcelain, he was now a Doll with a purpose. He was Bishop.

As his skills grew, so did the bond between him and Annabelle. It was a relationship symbolized by the rings he crafted, along with the name they decided to share. They became a family like the ones the ones that lived happily ever after in the stories both of them loved so much.

During one of their usual expeditions, the search for resources was halted by chaos. An unexpected influx of Mites forced them deeper into the Library, running into unexplored territory. His vision was poor in the darkness, but Annabelle apparently had better sight than him. She could see something in the shadows, and the woman was quick to push him away from whatever caused her so much panic. In the mayhem, one of many hidden traps was triggered, causing the area to rumble and be assaulted by collapsing books. Caught between this hazard and the stirring Mites, he reached out in an attempt to grab Annabelle. His efforts were futile, only able to hear her body snap as the piece he held disconnected, separating her from him entirely as the novels came between them. The distress messed with his mind, ruining his clarity and causing disorientation. He could only remember the sound of his own yells as he ran away, unable to find the woman he loved. She was gone.

After returning from the horror of that day, Bishop remained in a catatonic state for a period of time, overwhelmed by everything. He blamed himself and his lack of ability, unable to do anything for someone who did everything for him. He was all alone, surrounded by unfinished works that reminded him of his failure.

With time, the unfinished projects in his home became motivations to move forward, rather than haunting images of the past that forced him to remain still. If he allowed himself to completely give in to despair, it would dishonor Annabelle's memory and everything she did for him during his time of need. It would be an insult to the time they spent together. From then on, he focused on fulfilling their dream.

Bishop continued to live in seclusion, only leaving his home to gather materials and bring gifts to other Dolls. While he still made clothes, he expanded his list of projects, trying to bring even more beautiful things from the world of books into reality. He read everything he could, paying attrition to descriptions and the occasional image for the sake of recreating them. His capabilities were only limited by the materials available to him, which he tried to make up for with creativity. Toys, sculptures, clothes, and all other sorts of baubles filled his workshop, always being improved upon so he could introduce them to everyone. Although, his passion wasn't always able to distract from lingering sorrow.

He still missed Annabelle. He wanted nothing more than to see her face and feel her touch. In his loneliness, he attempted to craft an object in her image. That was his only intention, but this one act opened many doors. It eventually led him to create other small figurines modeled after Dolls, many being completely unique designs born from his own imagination. These toys turned out to be fairly popular during his usual deliveries.

Rather than being purely motivated by his loneliness or desire to see other Dolls happy, his creations were fueled by curiosity. What made Dolls different from the toys he made? Was there some maker out there who did things like this? Did Dolls just exist for no reason after being born from the Chute? How and why did they live? The questions running through his mind reminded him of the time he spent wandering through the darkness with the desire to end his life, but his curiosity wasn't tied to the despair he felt in the past. Instead, it was hope.

Bishop still kept the piece of Annabelle that she lost on that horrible day. His recent activities and thoughts about the nature of their lives made him consider the possibility of returning from death. Could he recreate a new body for her? Could she return to him? That dangerous line of thinking even reinvigorated his hopes that his Anna could still be alive out there. If not, his ideas could be comparable to the role of God that existed in books detailing religions. Life was a curious thing.

Today, Bishop still lives in seclusion, known only as the kind toymaker who visits communities to deliver his works before leaving once again. An old doll that only wants to bring beauty into the world and see people smile. More than any other, he wants to see his beloved Annabelle's smile once again.

Physical Description: Bishop is in remarkably good condition for an old Doll. He is among the tallest of his peers, but his appearance isn't even slightly intimidating. Much like a cabinet, portions of his chest can be opened, which he often uses as a way to store tools. Underneath his clothing, there are a few dark lines that mark where old injuries used to be from previous harvest attempts. He has two black lines underneath his eyes that reveal past damage.

Belongings: Bishop usually carries his tools on him when he leaves home. These range from needles to nails and ink to paint. He also carries a small notebook that contains designs for his toys.
