List of possible Throne-contenders

I dont agree that the intent of the developers is that Creation should just crash and burn if the DB's remain in power. I, on the contrary, see many signs that could indicate that the Db's might manage, if they just unite under one banner again..
That's because you're a DB fanboy.

But then, Im extremely partial towards the DB's.
See?

It takes a lot of fanboyism to think the DBs could tackle all these threats at once though.  Even letting the Deathlords/Lunars have the Threshold and fortifying the Blessed Isle...

Sorry, I'm now totally taken with the vision of the First and Forsaken Lion's forces doing a D-Day style landing on the Blessed Isle with necormantic amphibious landinb craft while the DBs defend with shore cannons and airships.

... while First and Forsaken Lion flanks the DB defense forces with *his own* set of First Age airships... (detailed in Book of Bone and Ebony). If his *ehm* grandest building scheme is completed before such an attack, he would be an absolutely horror in such a campaign...

... but honestly, even without *that* piece of blasphemous equipment, he would kick the DB:s sweet little posterior from here to Yu-Shan come...

The thing is. There will be circles of overpowered Solars working to defeat him, and other massive super-factions fighting eachother. Not everyone will go full out on the DB's, because all the good guys should realize that if they fall, so does their chances to win this thing in the long run.

100 solars won't do it, in my opinion. Together we need to stand!

And yes, Im a DB fanboy. But why introduce a gigantic empire with massive power if all they are about is to die horribly to everyone else?

Gotta agree with Zaramis.

In the long run, Creation will need to be saved by once again unifying the Celestials and Terrestrials against the common foes of creation.

And one of those foes is Heaven itself. Come on, Heaven, a Bureaucracy, with a Board of Directors addicted to what ammounts to a galatic scale super casino game?

Yep, the whole thing has got to come down...

**leaning back toward the original post**

I thought in one of the aspect books it was stated that Mnemon didn't want the thone. So you could take her off the "sitter" list and leave her on the "backing" list.

(aspect air?  maybe it was earth?)

Once again, it is stated in the Earth book, that Mnemon does indeed want the throne. But different sources say different things, but Mnemon is looking to fetch some allies before she makes the move, if you follow her storyline in Earth book.

Exactly, devilish woman...making alliances with Mask of Winters and dreaming of her mother's new children. Such an interesting life she's leading at the moment. But I dunno if she'll win out.

Then again, she is her mother's daughter. She has as much a shot as any of the obvious antebellum candidates.

Once the fighting breaks out, who knows? If she is perceived as the front-runner, a concerted effort by multiple factions could easily wreck her power base.

My personal dark horse candidate would be a Seventh Legion sleeper agent (or descendant of several) who's positioned him/herself just high enough to be a player, but not high enough to attract undue attention.

i back the roseblack on being the most likly to win, she has the red piss legion and mercanarys who have worked long and hard with her, shes already started to plan a revolt agenst the realm to give them somthing to stand agenst, she has more politcal savvy then might be suspected, a Sesus Spymaster whos invatuated with her, and seeing hows shes wanting to rebel and give the realm somthing to Unite agenst, the most likly to recruit Athema into her little campain, she may not have the numbers to win, but she dose have the tactical advantages, and if she dose recruit athema, then her chances shoot up dramaticly, imagain a circle of solers supporting her, while they cant handle a legion of DB's on their own, they would have other DB's and thousands of Mortal troops to help, besides even in our world multiple times have smaller less well eqquiped armys beaten the tar out of larger ones.

Memmon wont get the throne, shes too disliked and Isrili more or less runs the all seeing eye and they have the most reson to stand agenst her, so its not unresonable to think they will discover her ties evenchully and then she'll face not just the wrath of the realm but much of her own house too (grated from within her house it would be the greedy s.o.b's)

however anyone could become a contender since time is all everyone has right now, the Delebertive wont crown a new ruler out of fear, and everyone is so busy gutting eachother that anytime somone gets close to the throne, they will be smacked down by their greedy fellows,

Conquest or Approprated wartime powers are about the only way anyone is taking that throne till the empress and HER army get back

As I've said earlier in this thread, as things stand right now, the Roseblack doesn't really have a chance to seriously contend for the throne, for reasons I won't reiterate here.

<snip> she has more politcal savvy then might be suspected </snip>
No she doesn't. She even says so herself in Aspect Book: Wood.

Of course, if she allies with Anathema all bets are off...

shes already started to plan a revolt agenst the realm to give them somthing to stand agenst
So she's planning to save the Realm by attacking it?

I say Yurgen Kaneo is the contender with the most chances. The developers like him, he has probably a few warstriders and first age goodies now he has pummeled the tepet legions and a solar circle sorcress at his side.

more or less, at least last i saw, its not a half bad plan really, right now since no one is directly threaning them they persue their myrad of madding games, but givin a strong and knowledgeable foe directly endangering them, then the realm would close ranks and stop squabbling for at least a shortwhile to put down the danger to them

I don't think any Solar, even the Bull, has the power to take the throne, not while they're considered as Anathema.

~FC.

well there always take over the joint by slaughtering lots and lots of people and enforce your rule as a brutal ditcator...

though i think at that point the other solars would come and kick his ass for being a dick

Bull boy may be strong, but Panthers Circle, or any number of other Cricles would get a wild hair up their ass more then likly about such a thing and with a population that already lives in fear of you, suddenly librators with the power to overthrow your hated god king coming, i think a small army could be raised quickly.... mannnn now im getting ideas for a game

Remember that people probably already know some of Mnemon's illicit dealings; but politics allow for this, as it is likely that in order to find out, the spy did some things that they cannot allow to come to light. Alternatively, they might withhold the information, hoping to blackmail Mnemon into their power circle, but probably fail or get knifed by someone else in the interim.

It's not nearly black/white enough that you can assume discovery of Mnemon's acts will ensure her downfall. Additionally, the new Emporer/Empress isn't supposed to be liked; they have to be strong, and have a strong political backing, even if all of that backing is composed of enemies strongarmed into support.

I'd love to give examples of stuff happening in my game, but I made the mistake of introducing a player here. Curse you jack, you eat more of my liberties every day.

If the Realm were to follow real world politics, then I would have to predict somebody totally unknown at the moment.  Perhaps a young man rejected from the the Tuchara art school...

they may know of some of her dealings but inviting a deathlord? cutting some of the deals shes been making? if she keeps it up she may face Siddie assassins since her achions could be seen as destablizing everything for political power,

and without the first age defense grid on her side, she dosent have as good as protection as one might think if she stepped on too many toes

Peleps Hitler?

Tell me it wouldn't be an interesting and perhaps scary campaign.  Although I think for the most surprising results he should be a minor patrician Exalt from a very poor and poorly conected family, perhaps he served with some distinction in the Legions after washing out of the House of Bells or somesuch.  Then he could've gotten into trouble with the Immaculates for espousing certain beliefs regarding the validity of the hierarchy of Exalts over mortals, maybe imprisoned for a bit on some stormy island with no one to talk to but a little demon that sat on his shoulder "helping" young Adolphus write a treatise on his beliefs and the struggle therein.

There's an interesting concept. Hitler as a Dragon Blodded Emperor, or perhaps the new Regent...

Hmm, now that is an interesting concept indeed. "For the greater Deutsch-er, I mean Realm!"
