[/div] [div class=emptyspace]put new posts for tab1 above this div![/div] [/div] [div class="tabcontents tabcontentstwo"] [div class=post] [div class=title]PERSONALITY[/div] Anyone who has known Quentin for a long time would see that subtle changes that he has undergone, prior to and post Hogwarts letter. Before, he was a bright and bubbly talkative young boy with a wild imagination and a penchant for getting himself into mischievous trouble.

However, now, he appears to be somewhat withdrawn, much more reserved compared to how he was in the past. Whilst still friendly and approachable, he tends to hold people at an arm's distance, as if he doesn't dare to let himself get too attached to people. He likes to keep a lot his thoughts to himself, but will still willingly throw himself into social situations; he's still a people person despite the new air of caution.

On the other hand, a lot of things stay very much the same. For example, Quentin has always possessed an insatiable curiosity that can never truly be satisfied, a thirst to really understand the magical world he lives in. If there's something new to discover, Quentin wants to be a part of it. He's an active contributor to discussions, and once the ball gets going, he's like steam-roller that mows down everything that stands in the way of the answers he's looking for.

The one thing that Quentin hates most in the world, is being looked down upon and belittled. It's the one button that if pushed, will surely earn a reaction - most likely on the violent, physical end of the spectrum. He wears his patience thin, so it's best to not antagonise him.

For Quentin, what he desires to pick apart is the discord between the muggles and "true" wizards. As a Muggle-born himself, he adamantly refuses to cower in his own supposed inferiority and he aims to challenge the attitudes that create the divide between magical folk. The way he sees it is that magic is magic. No one is better than anyone else just because they can wave their wand around and say a few words. Having any kind of grip on magic is something that should be celebrated no matter what, whether you're from a distinguished (and inbred) pure line or if you come from humble beginnings. Tearing down these barriers is something that he would like to work towards, an objective that he will pursue in the future.

So it should be no surprise that Quentin is a very driven individual when it comes to pursuing his passions and can be extremely headstrong when it comes to his own beliefs and values, determined to defend them no matter what. As a consequence, he can come across as rather obstinate, unwilling to bend for the sake of someone else.

He has high ambitions that he is fixed on achieving, particularly making himself a renowned name - someway or another, Quentin will make sure that he will be written about in the history books for years to come, just like his childhood heroes. [/div] [div class=post] [div class=title]BACKGROUND[/div] Throughout Quentin's early childhood, he lived to immerse himself in the heroic tales of the Golden Trio.

They were untouchable, powerful figures in his imagination and in his dreams he would run alongside them, twisting and turning as he escaped from the blasts of Avada Kedavra green. To enrol at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was a lifelong dream; an aspiration that made him physically ache from how much he wanted to go. He longed to walk down the same corridors that his heroes had, to gaze up at the enchanted ceiling as he ate in the Great Hall, and most importantly... to share the experience with his best friend, Noah.

Noah was just as much as an avid fan as he was. They would spend their days together playing make-believe, pretending to be Aurors as they hunted down dark wizards. They would share everything with each other, sworn blood brothers from the day they found out they shared the same birthday. Quentin was always there for Noah - it would always be them against the world.

However, as they grew older, something changed within his best friend. Quentin had moved house so he had to attend a different primary school, but once the school day ended, he found that Noah had become sullen, prone to lashing out with angry words. He refused to play pretend, he glared when Quentin asked to see the sparkles he could conjure, and worst of all, he didn't even talk about going to Hogwarts anymore. When Quentin saw the shadows of a bruise on his lower jaw, he couldn't refrain himself for any longer.

"Noah, tell me... what's happening at school?"

"It's none of your bloody business!"

"Are you... are you being bullied? Why? It's never happened before. Look, just tell your mum, she'll sort it out." He hesitated, noticing the darkening look of Noah's face, but carried on nonetheless, "Is this why you haven't been yourself lately? It'll be okay, y'know, once we get into Hogwarts they'll teach you how to defend yourself and-"

"Are you really that fucking blind?!" Quentin had shrunk back from his aggression, eyes widening a fraction, "This is all your fault! You left me. Alone. They wouldn't bother us before because of you. Something about you made them nervous, but now that you've gone I'm an easy target! And you keep going on and on and on about stupid, bloody Hogwarts. Stop being an idiot and open your bloody eyes! We're never gonna get in there, we're just pathetic muggle-borns. We're not proper wizards, no matter how much you try and lie to yourself. JUST GROW UP!"

That day had been their first ugly fight. Noah had stormed off after his tirade, leaving Quentin there, shaking as he held back tears. He was wrong, how could he say that? Sure, they were Muggle-borns, but that didn't mean that... no, maybe there was a shred of truth in his words. He could remember running up to his mother, face alight with hope as he babbled about all the things he was going to do once he was at Hogwarts, and the image of her sad, pitiful eyes had been burned into the back of his mind. Not only was it the day that he had his first fight with Noah, but it was also the day his hopes and dreams began to crumble, shattering into millions of pieces.

Their relationship was a rocky one after that, Quentin's enthusiasm curbed and Noah remaining testy. Their fight had changed them, and it was only a matter of time until their friendship was truly hanging on by a thread.

Quentin's school had ended the day early, so he walked with a pep in his step as he planned to surprise Noah by waiting at the front of his school's gates. He heard a crash on his left, and his head swivelled to see a group of boys shoving someone up the chain-link fence. He had hesitated, desperately looking to see if there were any adults nearby, but when his gaze landed on the victim, hellfire fury bubbled up viciously from his very core. Noah. The ten-year-old had raced forward, mustering all his strength to throw himself into the fray before screaming,

"LEAVE HIM ALONE!"

Amazingly, the four other boys had been flung back by an invisible force, landing on their backs. Scrambling to their feet, they had taken one look at Quentin before scarpering, shouting about how "the nutter was back." Quentin had dropped to his knees, panting and feeling completely drained and exhausted before turning to give Noah a shaky smile - but the smile froze dead on his lips. Noah's eyes were full of fear and...disgust. He was not grateful, nor was he happy. He'd turned on his heel, about to walk away but Quentin had gotten up, grabbing hold of his arm.

"Noah, wait-"

Noah violently wrenched his arm out of Quentin's hold, a sneer carved into his face.

"Don't touch me, freak." He spat, leaving Quentin to wrestle with his own emotional turmoil. Why had it turned out like this?

For the next few weeks, Quentin was beside himself. What had gone wrong? He missed the days where things seemed so much simpler, he missed having his best friend by his side. He was so absorbed with his worries, that it didn't even register in his mind that he had performed an extraordinary display of power the day he helped Noah, nor did he notice his parent's nervous glances at the calendar.

So when an envelope addressed to him dropped through the letterbox on his eleventh birthday, it was a complete and utter shock. With trembling hands, Quentin opened the envelope neatly, and time seemed to stand still as the Hogwart's crest stared back at him.

The dreams that he had given up on... they had come true. He was going to Hogwarts! His parents seemed just as shell-shocked as he was, before sweeping him up into a massive hug, peppering him with kisses and congratulating him. Quentin was content to bask in that moment forever, but he pulled himself out of their embrace before rushing to put on his coat, the letter clutched tightly in his hand.

"I have to go and see Noah!" He'd called out as the door closed behind him.

Quentin soon found himself outside of the house that had once been like a second home to him. Noah's house. Swallowing nervously, he rapped his knuckles quickly against the front door, listening out for the thundering footsteps. It wasn't long until the door opened, and Quentin found himself face to face with his best friend, the one he hadn't seen since that incident. Noah's harsh words still rung clearly in his ears, but he shook the thought away. That wasn't important now, not when...

The silence was suffocating. Quentin opened his mouth to speak but stopped when he saw that Noah's attention was trained on the letter he held in his hands. Maybe... maybe there was a chance?

"Did you-" Quentin stopped again when Noah's eyes slowly dragged upwards to meet his, and it immediately felt like a punch to the gut. The narrowed gaze was dark, glittering with cold, unbridled hatred. It was a look he'd never seen before on his friend's face, and the warning dread made him feel sick to his stomach.

"I hate you."

The door slammed shut in his face with a bang of resolute finality. It was over.

On the evening before Quentin was set to go to King's Cross station, his trunk was locked with a snap, his childhood-self locked inside. Noah was right. It was time for him to grow up. He glanced up at the Golden Trio poster over his bed, and he gave himself a little nod of grim determination. He was going to make himself the main character of his own story, whether he had someone by his side or not. name: Karlie Temple
age: 11 years old
year: first
blood purity: Pure-blood.

PHYSICAL
591348
height: 4'5
weight: 95 lb.

PERSONA
personality: Karlie Temple. Silent, weird, quiet, creepy. There are many ways to describe Karlie, but silent is one of many descriptions that seems to fit. She is not very talkative, maybe it's the nerves or maybe just being that one child that never talks much. She has a thing about growing up that she likes to keep hidden in her chest.

Karlie hates being a kid. She is too small, too insufficient, and no one takes her seriously. The rest of the children are just too much for her to handle. Although Karlie likes to think of herself as more mature than the other kids around her, she is still very much a child and doesn't like to be reminded of that fact. She is also pureblood, one of the few families who still managed to keep their blood "pure" without having any birth defects on their children. Unfortunately due to her young age, Karlie has been fully indoctrinated into the blood purity doctrine and hates mudbloods.
likes & dislikes: Purebloods, music, isolation, grown-ups.
Mudbloods, annoying immature children, being reminded of her age, boys.

BACKGROUND
Karlie Temple was born into a pureblood family and had the fortune to live in relative wealth and luxury. Most of her life was also normal, at least as normal as being the youngest in a long line of siblings. Karlie spent most of her life watching her more talented and magical siblings being praised for their abilities while she was mostly ignored. This lead to her becoming almost mute in her demeanor, accepting her status as the ignored younger sister. This fueled her resentment toward her age and one night, unable to take it anymore, she tried to brew an aging potion but failed miserably much to the screaming fit of her parents, the only time in her life they actually paid attention to her. Then she got her letter to Hogwarts and everything changed. Her parents and siblings finally recognized her for her latent talent and many were expecting her to become a Slytherin like many before her after she choose Hogwarts.

As for her siblings, almost all of them are girls, and she has a fierce relationship with one of the eldest siblings, a woman by the name of Penelope, who was the only one that she actually talks to and the only one that paid attention. Unfortunately she was an Auror and was mind controlled by a Dark Voldemort worshipping wizard into being his lover. This caused a sudden rift between Karlie and her sister, who had suddenly started ignoring her, her mind entirely focused on her unnatural Imperio induced relationship. This all came to a head, the wizard used her to get into the Ministry of Magic where he attempted to "revive" Lord Voldemort (he was insane). They were caught and Penelope was tried and sent to Azkaban. This tore Karlie to her core, and she retreated further into herself as a result. This left her with no one except her only brother, Xavier. But the attention she got from him was not positive. He would pick on her, call her names, tease her harshly, and even physically abuse her simply because he can. To make matters worse, he was prideful, arrogant, and most of all, insanely vain. She choose Hogwarts in part to avoid him and spite him.

PERSONA (5)
personality: He's one of the calmest in the school, but that's just a facade. In all actuality, he's weird. Probably one of the strangest people in the school as well, he seems to adore the shifting staircases, spending most of his free time there. Along with that, he doesn't know exactly how to make friends, since most of them abandon him for what he likes to do (fire stuff). But other than that, he's mostly kind, and kind of obnoxious, but consistent.
likes & dislikes: (Likes) Anime, tacos, pranking people, and the legend of Hagrid (Dislikes) Assholes, Smart-asses, the legend of Harry Potter, and whoever this "Ron Weasly" was.

BACKGROUND

He wasn't the favorite child. Hell, he was far from it. His parents told stories of a man named Harry Potter, and his friends. Most of his siblings didn't associate anything with him. Other than his older sister. She taught him that their family meant more than they thought: they were one of the few that had pure wizard blood. This surprised him, because that their parents were more on the poor side, he heard that his grandfather was one that knew so much about magic. That's when he went to him.

His grandfather was previously a Hogwarts highmaster, but most people thought he was dead. In fact, he was waiting for him, Ryan. His grandfather taught him two specific spells: Incendio, the production of fire, and Lumos/Nox, turning on and off of lights. He tried his hardest to master both, which he nearly did. Those spells were, to him, the most fun to do. After he passed on, though, it all went to hell. His father left his mother, and his siblings got all mixed up. He left, then getting the letter to join Hogwarts.

BACKGROUND
It was a warm September day when Aina Smith was called to an unusual house to deliever a baby, four days earlier than expected. For Aina this was a usual occurence, not every baby was born on the due day set by the Doctor. Aina Smith had seen a lot in her 30 years of being a Midwife in the Welsh Highlands. But, she was quite surprised by the Pembrookes. Because after delievering the child, the mother wouldn’t even look at the child and it was as if the father wasn’t fully all there. She asked them for a name, but neither mother nor father would give one. The mother said that the child was undeserving of the name she had had planned for her. So Aida Smith did something that she had only done for her family. She named the child, Mavis Deirdre Pembrooke.

After 40 years of service to the Pembrooke family Gerald Brown had learned to keep his mouth shut. As they were a wealthy family they paid him quite well, so he’d rather sacrifice his morality for the job. When the Lady of the house yelled and chatised her daughter for playing outside, he ignored it. When the Lady asked him to make her daughter’s favourite dessert he obeyed. And when she taunted her daughter later at dinner and wouldn’t alough her to eat it, and made her watch her mother and father eat it, he stayed silent. Of course, Gerald Brown felt bad, but he needed the job.

Elizabeth, affectionately called Lizzie by her friends, was furious. Because her supposed best friend had just ended their friendship because their mother had siad that Elizabeth wasn’t good enough to be friends with them. Elizabeth hated Mavis Pembrooke and her snobby mother.

Mavis Deirdre Pembrooke was not a good kid. Or at least that’s what she believed. She wished that she was better. She wished her father would pay attention to her. She wished her mother loved her more. Mavis Deirdre Pembrooke longed to be noticed. So, in hope of some sort of attention from her father she broke into his office. A room that had remained locked and forbiddened for most of her childhood. She stayed in there for hours but no one noticed. So she started pulling books off the shelves that lined the walls of the office and began reading. She came across some books on about Muggles. A topic that was prohibited in the house. Mavis wanted to know more so she kept sneaking into the office to read more.

Mavis didn’t think she’d be going to Hogwarts. She’d always been under the impression that she’d be homeschooled. So, it was safe to say that she was surprised to find out that she would actually be able to go. For the first time in her life she would be free from her Mother’s control. And that was the scariest part.

Name: Arthur Malcolm Hughes
Nickname: Artie | Art
Age: 11
Year: First Year
Blood Status: Half-Blood
Height: 4'8
Weight: 80 lbs
Appearance:

Artie is a frail and small boy, constantly making jokes about his own stature and "waiting on puberty" to set him straight. He has thick curly brown hair that is more often messy than tamed. Not that he minds really, his entire presence is fairly disheveled. His eyes and hair are both a dark brown and his facial expression seems to alternate between only two settings: a mischievous grin, or an expression of extreme confusion. His small stature, though a bit annoying in some aspects, lends well to keeping him nimble.

Clothing:

Despite being fairly disorganized, Artie dresses quite well. His assortment of button downs is a bit excessive for someone his age. He accompanies his tops with slacks or nice jeans, angering his mother whenever he dresses so nicely and yet still goes outside and plays recklessly. Being flashy and silly are also staples of Artie's wardrobe. One wouldn't be surprised to see him with a pair of bright sunglasses and some hat with a ridiculous slogan on it.

Personality:

To use one word to describe Artie, it would be insufferable. His inflated sense of self importance and hyperactive behavior creates a cocktail of annoying behavior. Growing up in a house full of rowdy boys, he's used to being a bit of a jerk and not caring about other's feelings. He tends to tease people relentlessly, not out of maliciousness but simply because it is how he interacts with others. In addition to this he is very talkative, not really catching onto social cues when people don't exactly want to talk to him. He feels that he's interesting enough, so everyone should want to speak with him.

Artie is also quite the mischievous boy. He often gets himself into trouble but that doesn't stop him from coming up with elaborate schemes and pranks. Although he couldn't be considered "book smart", he is pretty cunning. He has a bad habit of lying about nearly everything, even things that don't even warrant a lie. He functions best around people who are pushovers, and butts heads with those who aren't so quick to bend to his will. This isn't to say that Artie is violent, though. He isn't ignorant to his small stature and prefers to keep things non-physical. It's more likely that he insults one verbally and ducks out of physical confrontations.

Likes: outdoors | swimming | relaxing | dancing | teasing others | sweets | muggle media | cats | adventuring
Dislikes: sensitive people | school | Quidditch | reading | dogs | rain | tea | cowards | tattle-tales

Biography:

Artie is the second oldest of 5 boys in the Hughes family. Being that each child was separated by a year or two, the Hughes brothers are a very close and rowdy bunch. His parents, Darcy and Thomas Hughes, did their both to manage the crew. Thomas was a professional Quidditch Player though, leaving Darcy at home alone most days to watch over all 5 kids. A near impossible feat of course. They were all free to do as they pleased, running wild in the neighbor and tormenting not only each other but the other neighborhood kids.

Tradition in the Hughes family is very important. Despite the fact that they are not purebloods, they are notorious for taking their magical abilities very seriously. Starting at age 6, each child is sent to Charm School (a primary school designed to discuss the very basics of magic with the children). And then at age 8 they are given private Quidditch lessons. It was an easy way to keep the boys out of trouble and active but Artie was never really a fan of it. He much preferred making his own fun as opposed to being forced to learn about Quidditch and run around with the stupid quaffle in his hands.

Getting their letter to Hogwarts, though expected, always calls for great celebration in the Hughes household. So when Artie got his, he was overly excited to begin his journey at Hogwarts. All he wanted to know was what house he'd be sorted into.

WAND
Maple, Phoenix, 14 ¼. Hard

PATRONUS
Vulture

PERSONA
personality: (Born to two pureblood parrents)

Artemis isn’t cold. He’s not exactly personable but, there’s a charm to him that’s hard to deny. He’s quick to judge others. Quick to sum up a person’s worth within the span of a conversation. He might not know it consciously but, he has a superiority complex. He doesn’t suffer fools lightly, takes things seriously, and gets upset when others don’t take the same things as seriously, no matter how small.

He’s always been known for his ambition, he’s always seen the bigger picture; asked the bigger questions. He’s always been more concerned with the “How” then the “Why.” He also has a pretty strict worldview. Being the only magical being has caused his opinion of non-magical people to plummet. He’s far from the tolerant, inclusive, socially conscious person his Hufflepuff parents wanted him to be.

likes & dislikes: (4 each)

Likes: People who dream big, henchmen (loyal friends), Talking with people who know more than him, exceeding expectations

Dislikes: Gryfindors and Hufflepuffs, Normies, people who are content with mediocrity/those who don’t take the required actions to realize their visions, people who don’t know information that he sees as basic knowledge.

BACKGROUND

Kate and Bradley Lacework were some of Hogwarts’ nicest Hufflepuffs. They met in first year and couldn’t work up the courage to ask the other out until half way through 5th. When they did they built a powerful relationship. One that led quickly to marriage after they both graduated. It was truly a relationship that was meant to be. The bubbly newlyweds couldn’t wait to have a child; they’d planned everything you could plan, read every book on rearing magical children the Hufflepuff way. They were ready. And when their baby boy was born they named him Artemis, after Artemisia Lufkin, Kate’s favorite magic world diplomat and Famous Hufflepuff, one of many examples of great wizards to come out of the much maligned house. Wizards who don’t get nearly the amount of press others do because of their commitment to peace and comradery.

Artemis was showered by two parents who truly adored him. He grew up in a large house, in a nomage neighborhood. As an only child, his parents treated him with respect, never looked down on him or treated him with kid’s gloves just because he was a child. They encouraged his curiosity and made sure that his hunger for knowledge was met. They provided him with books that would normally be far above his age range and he read them with ease. His parents told him as soon as he was old enough to understand that he was special. To let them know if anything out of the ordinary happened. They waited patiently for his magical powers to manifest.

Kate and Bradley didn’t realize at the time but, their child was not the budding little Hufflepuff they were expecting at all. By the time Artemis started school he was generally smarter than everyone else. He became aware of this quickly and used this fact to take advantage of the other children. His parents grew increasingly concerned with every letter home, each day that went by without Artemis chatting at dinner about how many friends he had made, they started wondering what was happening at the school. They decided to schedule a meeting with his teacher.

Mrs. Brooke was blunt. The other children were not friends with Artemis. They feared him. They spoke badly about him behind his back but never to his face. They claimed the most outlandish things about him, that he would do tricks. Strange impossible tricks, there was even a rumor spreading that he could talk to snakes. How ridiculous. Brooke made sure to protect Artemis from the rumors by placing him into classes on his own, by Artemis’ own request.

This was beyond anything Kate or Bradley could have predicted… this was not Puff behavior. It sounded more like… no. It was too early to even think that. Then for the first time, they decided to scold their son. Scold him for lying and for being so mean to his schoolmates. It didn’t at all help that in the middle of their scolding they received a letter… by owl. Bradley opened the letter, looked at his wife, and then at their child. “We’ll talk more about this later Art. Now get to bed.”

It was a letter to Hogwarts. The two lovers stayed up all night weighing their options, should they allow their son to attend knowing what house he’d likely end up in, what would their friends think? How could this happen to them, they did everything right, everything by the books. By the end of the night, as the sun rose, they had decided. Artemis was his own person. He deserved to make these decisions for himself. It was truly a Puff thing to do, let’s hope it doesn’t come back to bite them.

BASICS
Name: Clark Mason
Age: 11
Year: First
Gender: Female
Blood status: Half-Blood

PHYSICAL
Appearance:
Small for her age, Clark and has the awkward twig-like figure of a young giraffe. Her arms and legs are lanky. Her neck is too long. She has a narrow, oval-shaped face, and a high forehead mostly covered by a blunt fringe. She has fair skin speckled with small moles, coal dark eyes, and black hair that trails off somewhere past her collarbone. Of particular notice are her eyes, which slant downward. Even when alert she has the look of perpetual sleepiness.

Often, Clark stands with one shoulder dropped lower than the other, her head tilted to the side.

Clark is a girl of simple tastes. She rarely pulls back her hair, and if she does, she'll have done a messy job of it. Her clothes are not flashy but comfortable and often utilitarian. If she is hidden in a crowd, one need only to look at everyone's feet. Clark will be the one wearing bright yellow, albeit mud-caked, wellies.

Other than a hearing aid behind her left ear, Clark has no distinguishing accessories.
Height: 53"
Weight: 73 lbs.

PERSONA
Personality:
Though quiet, Clark is not shy. She has a curious mind, especially where magic is concerned. So when something catches her attention, her tendency is to ask exhaustive questions and record everything she learns. Her speech is direct and pointed, even for an eleven-year old. While not the most charismatic person, Clark is at least polite. She is observant, pragmatic, and engaged. However, her attention is not equally distributed among all subjects. What many consider important—learning to read an analog clock, for example—she finds dull. The things that disinterest her go unappreciated and unlearned. When bored, Clark's favorite diversions typically lead to mischief.
Likes: chunky scarves, stormy days, lemon cakes, tea, adventures
Dislikes: strong perfume, people who shout at her, bugs, rowdiness

BACKGROUND
Upbringing:
Clark Mason lives with her parents and twin brother Emmett, but her family often feels much larger. Clark's parents operate a bed and breakfast that caters to both Muggles and Wizards right out of their country house, Wildwood. Clark's earliest memories are of setting the table for twelve and learning useful phrases in foreign languages from passing travelers. Her favorite guests were the ones who showed her bits of magic. For a while, she and Emmett would putter around, lending a hand where they could. They were comfortable and busy, which is what they thought contentment was.

Though Clark's mother was a witch, she saw her perform little magic growing up. Bill Mason and Ellis Mori, Clark and Emmett's parents, repeatedly explained that magic could not solve every problem, that it was useful to know how to achieve a goal without it. Clark was rather less willing to accept these statements than her brother, who regarded magic with extreme caution.

No one, least of all Clark, expected Emmett to show signs of magic first, let alone enough magic to grant him admission to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. For weeks, Emmett literally glowed, soft light radiating from his skin. He'd flash erratically when he was scared (which was all the time because he did not understand what was happening to him), and all the lights in the house would mimic him. The only magic Clark ever accomplished was a hairline crack she put in the mirror in her bedroom by wishing it there. Of course, it was an old mirror and the longer she thought about it, the more she convinced herself that the crack was an old one.

It is an understatement to say that it was a surprise when not one but two owls delivered letters to Wildwood.
Significant relationships:
Father (Bill Mason): warm, indulgent, accepts but does not care for magic
Mother (Ellis Mori): musical, aloof, does not believe magic is the solution
Twin (Emmett Mason): constant worrier, self-conscious, did not want to go to Hogwarts

Sorry to hold everyone up! I'm afraid my coding skills are bare minimum basic, but I hope the character I created is up to snuff.

name: Ambroise "Mikey" Bouchard
age: eleven (twelve v. soon!)
year: first-year
blood purity: pure-blood
220px-Levi_Miller_by_Gage_Skidmore.jpg']220px-Levi_Miller_by_Gage_Skidmore.jpg
height: 4"8
weight: 79.5 lbs

personality: Mikey is a rather smiley kid, an indication of his optimistic, good-natured inclinations. He rarely gets mad, though he does have those few incidents where something really manages to get under his skin. He knows now from past experiences to get out of those situations as quickly as possible; he avoids conflict that he feels will devolve into meaningless violence. He doesn't follow drama very well at this stage in his life, forgetting whatever grievances person #1 had for person #2 very quickly. And asking him his opinion on the matter undoubtedly gets the same nonchalant response - "Errr.. Why can't you just be friends again? Just.. Apologize?"

The more social parts of his education always came the easiest to him; Mikey has never had any troubles with talking to kids and adults alike, though there are some problems with his distinguishing figures of authority from the mix and giving them the respect his parents always assured them "they deserve". He doesn't give out his respect easily - an odd thing for a kid his age as most eleven year olds just follow the word of their parents. He's always asking the questions that shouldn't be asked, all under this innocent air that luckily enough softens the blow of his words usually. He's a bright kid, but he's guilty of a fair bit of naivety, and he can be entirely too trusting of people and their intentions.

likes: chocolate, quidditch, games, running, orange, rain
dislikes: daddy-long-legs, drama, his real name, waking-up-early, reading

backstory: The Bouchard family's one claim to fame in "recent" history is that they can cite close relation to the Rosier's, although the name has little now compared to the weight it carried back in the days of Harry Potter. It isn't something they exactly brag about either, given the Rosier family's past.. associations, and the fact that the term 'Death eater' is politely avoided, even in close pureblood circles. However, where the Rosier family blatantly turned up their nose to the very word 'muggle', the Bouchard family is a little more tolerant, keeping their true opinions close to their chest, and Mikey and his siblings have been raised in the same fashion.

Mikey had a rather stable upbringing, wanting for nothing and being surrounded by love and affection on every end. It helped that he was the youngest child - his parents already had tried out their different non-orthodox techniques of parenting on his two older siblings before he was born, so the way was - as his brother Malachi would wryly put, "paved with gold" for him. The other one-up Mikey had over his siblings and arguably the most important one was that he was named for the patriarch of the family, Grandpa Ambroise. Ambroise was a powerful man in his prime, and although age has restricted him to the indoors, it hasn't curbed his volatile nature by any means. Consequently, Mikey has never been comfortable with this given name and the weight of the expectations and implications behind it, and thus the nickname (off of an old wizarding cartoon entitled 'Michelangelo' that he and his brother used to religiously follow) "Mikey" was born.

When Mikey became old enough to walk, a change descended over the Bouchard household. It seemed every eye was on his toddling movements; everyone was waiting for something, and Mikey was too young at the time ("and perhaps too dumb" his brother would later say?) to really understand that they were waiting to see his first sparks of magic. And Mikey didn't disappoint. This story is one his parents repeat at every gathering, ignoring the crimson of their youngest sons ears and the way he blushedly ducks out of the room every time the story begins.

As his mother tells it, she had just laid him down to bed before the start of a big party that the Bouchard's were hosting. She had verified that he was sleeping before descending down the winding, spiral staircase to the main room where the party was held. Some time passed. The guests had just started getting fully comfortable and Mikey's father had just summoned a particularly expensive wine bottle to the center table for the guests to ooh and aah over, when a faint gurgle registered from the top of the steps.

"My heart stopped," Portia Bouchard would recount, detailing how little Mikey took to the steps with glee, ignoring her frantic cries as she searched for her wand. His father, the guests, everyone appeared too dumb-founded to intervene. Mikey had tripped with a little scream, and it seemed all was lost before his first bits of magic had shown themselves, and he'd gleefully begin to bounce to the bottom of the steps.

From then on as he grew older, Mikey continued to exhibit bits of this power he obviously had no control of, this being brought on by sudden powerful surges of a volatile anger he had even less control of. Later, when his parents checked him into a private wizarding primary school they also signed him up for what would be his first therapy class, these classes continuing up until Mikey continued to Hogwarts.

In his parents' minds, there was no better school for their children, and all would ultimately attend their flagship school at their parents behest (apart from Astrid, who would choose to attend the Wizarding Academy of Dramatic Arts rather then the traditional route). So when Malachi received his letter right as he turned eleven and Mikey was only nine, he became correspondingly anxious about when his time would come. After all, home without his best friend and brother was awfully boring; he'd never experienced a house empty of both of his siblings. "You're time will come, be patient," his parents assured him, but Mikey had really never been one for patience. But as they said, his time did come and now Mikey looks forward to his future attendance of the school.

Lyanna is a very extroverted girl, she loves trying new things and meeting new people. She likes to hangout with her friends and loves to show off her acting skills.

Though Lyanna is skilled in socials, she seems to have more street smarts than book smarts. Lyanna has never been the best in her classes, but she's also never been the worst. Where she shines is in the arts department, she's a natural thespian and loves to perform any chance she gets. She's also quite good at several instruments, including piano, violin, cello, and french horn. Her family raised her to love music and the arts, and she aspires to be a playwright just like her father.

BACKGROUND
Lyanna remembered the first time she had seen one of her fathers musicals. Her brother had taken her when she was 4, he bought her snacks from the front counter and then took her to their seats. She remembers peering over the balcony's ledge, gazing upon the giant stage feet below her and gazing at it in awe. The lights were bright and magnificent, the blues and greens mixing with a golden light, the stage was magical to Lyanna, who instantly became mesmerized by the sight. Soon, the lights dimmed and the curtains drew back, and she heard a woman's voice. The woman sounded beautiful, and although Lyanna couldn't grasp all of what she was singing or whatever the message might be, she had fallen in love. She knew from that moment on she wanted to be that woman. She wanted to be standing in the middle of a stage singing for thousands of people each night.

She then remembered her first time on stage. She had been 7, and cast on a fairly new musical. She played the young daughter of a gang leader, and her character served as the main characters driving force and moral compass. Lyanna remembered when she had gotten the part, she had jumped up and down, screaming of joy. When she first went on stage, she was a bit nervous, but she reassured herself, and that she's practiced her songs so much, she couldn't mess up, even if she wanted to! She remembered being on stage and picking out her fathers face, he was beaming at her, and held up a thumbs up. From that point on, Lyanna sang her heart out and gave each performance her all. The musical was a great success and even made it to Broadway! But although that's all fun, she remembers running up to her parents and brother after the show and her father telling her how proud he was, and how proud everyone was. Lyanna knew then she wanted to do what he did, and make others fall in love with the theater just like her father did for her.
