She loves to be near other people. It's what lights up her entire world. She gets energized by interacting with others and it keeps her going even in the darkest of moments.​
Beyond that Layana has a natural curiosity that has lead her into plenty of troublesome situations. It also has given her a lot of wonderful and fun experiences too. If only she was better at finding her way. New things confuse her relatively easily, though that does not deter her from wanting to learn more about it. She also has a tendency to get lost real easily. So it is a good thing she isn't shy about asking a stranger for directions.​
One major point that many have encountered when talking to her is that she can be very chatty. It's not necessarily a bad trait, but it can be a bit much at times and she doesn't always pick up the hints on when it has been enough.​

• SPECIES •
For most of Layana's life she believed she was an angel. What kind of angel she wasn't sure of, but she guessed it was just of the average white variety. There were plenty of those to go around and her adoptive parents were of the generic angels, the base kind, so it was an easy assumption.​
When she was 18 things began to change. Layana suspects that either someone placed a curse on her, or she's a chimera, a magical experiment at birth that had seemingly failed and where now at last that part of her is surfacing after many years. She hasn't really been able to come up with any other good reasons as to why her body and magic are changing.​
She isn't far off in her speculations, though she isn't cursed or an experiment. She is a hybrid, a crossbreed, between a demon and an angel. While unions like that have happened before in the past, it never manifested itself in this particular way.​
Angels​
All angelic creatures stem forth from one main ancestral species. The Aharown, the light bringers. (Nowadays better known as Royal Angels as most of the remaining Aharowns are directly related to the royal court.)​
From here every other variation evolved. From the generic angel who look the most like the Aharown but much weaker in power, to the majestic six winged Seraphim.​
Crossbreeds with various other species have lead to various new species that now thrive on their own.​
An angel is limited to their light magic and can not deal in other kinds of magic unless they have an ancestor who could wield a different type magic.​
The light magic is mostly defense and protective, as well as healing. Though it can be used in offense.​
Important note: While the Aharown are the origin of all angels and a few variants, they are not the origin of all species.​
Demon​
Similar to how the angels progressed from one main ancestral species, the demons too have a common ancestral origin.​
The Eyphah. There is no certain record if the Eyphah still exist or not or simply have evolved themselves into a new form.​
The most common descendant of the Eyphah is the common demon. Unlike angels however who share many similar traits, demons can vary a lot before being considered a separate species. Various examples in appearances seen within the demon kin are other colored skins such as red, blue, or black, horns in varying sizes, odd shaped irides, tails, etc.​
Unlike an angel a demon isn't limited solely to dark magic. The Eyphah were limited to solely dark magic, and there are those who are limited to that as well, but just like their appearances demons have many variations power wise. Various clans exist solely focussing on their own particular variation in appearance or power.​

• POWERS •
Being an angel Layana's powers are primarily light based. Light magic such as healing, protection spells, and using light in both offense and defense. She is particularly skilled in the defensive side. Being able to cast strong barriers and protections with relative ease.​
This of course was before her powers went haywire.​
Now that her demon side has manifested itself it pushes a lot of Layana's light magic aside, causing her to often fumble and fail if she tries to perfect a light spell. Aside from it messing up her light magic, the up side is that she can access minor parts of the dark spells. As she never learned them as a child they don't come easy to her, even the most simple of spell, but she tries.​
The direct limitation that she has in her powers is that neither side can be properly controlled. No matter how she tries dark will mess with light, and light will mess with dark.​
Since even her protection spells are limited and faulty, she has little way of properly guarding herself, making her more vulnerable in a fight.​

• HOBBIES •
Above all Layana loves adventure. Can't find her way back to save her life, but the adventure calls. Her sense of direction has improved a little, but more because she learned to remember specific buildings and use those as landmarks to find her way back. It's all part of the adventure to her. As an extension of that, she also likes sightseeing and making new friends along the way.​

• TALENTS •
Layana used to be a talented flyer. Her current wing situation has thrown her off balance so she has been confound to the ground.​
She also has a talent for remaining happy and upbeat, seeing the fun or adventure in almost any situation.​
And not to mention a talent for getting herself lost even in a simple and tiny town. No sense of direction whatsoever.​

BACKGROUND
Layana always knew she was a bit different from the rest.​
For starters, she was adopted. Her parents were both angels, but as she grew older it became more and more apparent how different she was than them, especially appearance wise. Her wings were much larger, her eyes were green while theirs were blue, amongst other things. Coming to them with questions they explained to her that she had been abandoned as a baby. They had found her near a well and took her in. Deep inside the question of why she was abandoned, and who her birth parents were still plague her mind. According to Layana it's what started her whole love for questing. Trying to find the answer to that one question that most likely would never be able to be answered.​
But as much as the girl had a drive for adventure, her caretakers urged her to stay close to home. As curiosity tended to get the better of her, she would easily lose her way, and to prevent her from getting completely lost, they wanted her to stay nearby.​
And so she did. Luckily for her, her urge for adventure and exploring was satisfied by the multiple moves to new towns the family took. Her father was a handyman that stayed in a town for a few years working on some big project, and each time that it was done, he would take his family and move to the next town.​
In an overview this is mostly what Layana's younger years looked like. Settle down, make new friends, learn more about light magic and flying, move to a next town and start all over again.​
Losing friends was sad of course, but being able to make all kinds of new friends often made up for the loss on her end.​
In Layana's late teen years everything changed. She was nearing her 18th birthday when much of the magic that she possessed, light and protection based, started to act up. Her spells started to fail, and in a fit of rage to get it right a burst of dark energy emerged.​
Angels generally don't have the power over dark magic, she knew that much. Most of the time dark magic belonged to the species that was otherwise known as demons.​
Figuring it was just a one time fluke of nature she payed it no further heed, until it started manifesting more frequently.​
As if that wasn't enough, her pure white wings started to morph.​
The feathers on her left wing started to darken, like the reverse of going gray for old people. It didn't stop till the entire wing was pitch black, and even the tips of her hair started to darken till the bottom portion of her blonde hair was black too.​
It was however her right wing that gave her the most cause for concern. Through a painful process where the physicians were stumped and knew nothing to stop it, all of her feathers began to let go. But it didn't stop with a big bare chicken wing, the form itself changed shape. It morphed and rearranged itself till it only a boney structure remained with a delicate membrane stretched between the bones in a pure white color. It had the traits of a demon's wing, even though she had never seen a demon with white wings before.​
This was when Layana decided it was enough. No local physician had been able to help her, or give her a clear answer on what was going on.​
So she packed her bags and head out to the big city, the Capital, in the hopes of finding a doctor or healer that might be able to tell her what was going on. Or better yet, hoped to find a clue to her birth parents. Because if anyone would know what was going on with her, they would definitely have the answer.​
Her adoptive parents aren't happy that she is leaving, but since she is legally an adult, they can't force her to stay home. However they did urge her to be very cautious and avoid using dark magic.​
She has journeyed mostly on foot. The new shape of her wing threw everything off balance and has made it hard for her to be able to fly.​

TALENTS
SPECIES
Hell Wyrms are species of demon listed under draconian shapeshifters. They have a reputation for being pests and have even been driven out some areas by species with a low tolerance for their presence, mainly because feral individuals have been known to cause great destruction. Hell Wyrms have also been hunted throughout ancient history for their parts; which are saturated with mana and can be used as potent magical ingredients. Although hunting for Hell Wyrms is rare now that they are more widely recognized as a sapient species, their numbers have yet to fully recover.​
All Hell Wyrms can be seperated into one of five different groups based on their element: Fire, Earth, Water, Wind, and Lightning. Each subspecies can be found in whatever part of the Land best matches their affinity, which is usually someplace extremely inhospitable to other races and deeply saturated with magic. They would prefer these areas because they absorb magic of their element: feeding on it and using it to increase their power and lifespans. This makes them one of the few kinds of creatures which can tolerate—and actually benefit—from exposure to raw mana and also makes them ideal workers for the mapping of Ley Lines.​
Society (WIP)​
As a whole, hell wyrms tend to have a very loose societal structure and possess almost nothing in the way of tradition or governing. They However what few customs they do possess are followed with great dedication and passed down through ancestral memory.​
Reproduction:​
Hell wyrms lay eggs, usually in clutches of 5-7 (though as many as 15 have been recorded) with a higher female to male ratio. Once the eggs are laid the parents do not typically feel any sort of obligation towards their offspring, but may stick around out of curiosity; often placing bets on how many manage to hatch or on their colors. Young wyrms are called spawn and may hatch as soon as 2 months after being laid or remain dormant for many decades if the environmental conditions are not favourable.​
Clothing:​
Wild hell wyrms have no need of clothing and rarely find value in it's possessesion. However wyrms that live in proximity or among other species have been known to start adorning themselves in garments, most often with emphasis on jewelry and trinkets which are seen as a testament of power. As such, there is a growing sense of compition among those 'civilized' wyrms to outdo one another through the display of their....rather garish fashion collections.​

HOBBIES
Collecting Things: Though personal possessions are a rare thing for Draak and his SibClan, he's grown fond of what things he makes his own and is always on the look for items to add to his growing collection. At present, his belongings consist of: a change of shorts, his earrings, a few sparkling rocks and a journal he discovered on one of his delivery runs.​
Racing: Whether it's watching from behind the stands or taking to the track himself, Draak loves a good challenge.​
TALENTS
Draak is the fastest flier in his SibClan and possesses an excellent ability to distinguish between scents.​

Draak and his four siblings were hatched in a place called Hell's Basin; a small wasteland in the demon territories that is saturated with enough raw mana to make it uninhabitable for species that haven't developed the right protection. It contains the largest population of fire hell wyrms in all of the Land, being a suitable location for them due to the large reservoirs of magic and low numbers of sapient populations to cause friction with. Draak and his siblings stayed for roughly 15 years, growing rapidly in size and strength and proving themselves to be fierce competition as they grew more experienced with hunting and fighting.​

SUMMARY
Elane is often an obediant soldier, who is used to taking direct orders from other above her own rank. She can go through with an execution without blinking an eye, but if she believes that the order is wrong, she will definitely feel wrong or guilty. Of course, she is trained to be obediant and stone cold, therefore she will not go against orders. She is a wonderful strategist, and will often find herself giving orders and commands to an army or group. When respected as a leader, she becomes more assertive and commanding. Her overall persona is that of a dutiful soldier and eccentric commander.​

SPECIES
Aifeax Valkyries are humanoid creatures with wings and an affinity with magic. They usually have longer lifespans than a regular Valkyrie, making many of the oldest ones around 1500 years old. The oldest Aifeax are usually scholars and historians as they have been around to see huge shifts in the Land. Many Aifeax reside in different clans with a social caste system set in place. Each clan or family has a given name and posseses a different power or affinity. The powers are all different, ranging from seers to shifters. Some houses are of higher rank, like seers, while others, like elementals, are of lower status. Bloodline Viper is one of the higher clans, along with Bloodline Lorelan and Rithe.​
Other distinguishing features of Aifeax is their silvery blood. It gives them a pale cast, with stone cold features and sharp expressionism. They also have leathery dragonlike wings, which can fold down to half their size. The Aifeax Clans often have distinguishing marks, like snakeskin strips for the Vipers, or tattoos of the sea or fire for the Freenams, who are elementals. POWERS
Elane is from the Viper bloodline, so she possesses the ability to communicate with animals. Half of her parentage, however, was a Rithe, who can control just about any metal there is. Elane got the upper hand in metal abilities, so her focus is most often on that. Her communing with animals is weaker, and drains a lot more energy than controlling metal.​

HOBBIES
She has an ongoing journal, in which she writes just about everything. Elane enjoys training and honing her abilities to further help her in any battle that may come.​

TALENTS
She is lithe and graceful, moving almost silently despite the metal sheets usually cloaking her body. She is also a good communicator, and would have been trained as a Delegate had she not possessed the ability to fight.​


BACKGROUND
The union between High Bloodlines Rithe and Viper was a beautiful one, resulting in a rare newborn. The whole of the Aifeax society celebrated this happening, showering the baby with gifts and love. As the toddler grew up, she was doted on. The Vipers took custody of her after a few skirmishes with Rithe. There, Eleanöre was taught the politics and workings of the Land.​
After displaying a wider range of affinity with metals, a tutor from Rithe was sent to teach her to control her powers. The large chambers of the Viper palace were perfect for training. She started off small, shaping metal trinkets into deadly slivers of ice cold iron. Soon, she was moving even the spiked turrets from the top of the castle, arranging them into enourmous walls and shields.​
Elane left the Aifeax for years upon years to study with the Land's finest tutors. She was a bright, quick witted student, quickly gaining new insight on the political prowess there. Eventually, she returned. Almost an adult, she was celebated once more before having the choice to stay or take up a job. She journeyed straight to the Capitol, assuming the job as a Sentinal. Of course, this suprised no one. Throughout many years, Elane rose through the ranks of Sentinals, taking a position as a commander.​

OTHER
Her blood is a glittering bluish silver color, giving her a pale contrast to red-blooded humans or other species.​
Elane has a companion in battle: a wyvern about two feet long and a wingspan of 12 inches. It has a poisonous bite and spits acid. It has grey scales dotted with bright iridescent gemlike structures. Not exactly scales, they are harder than any normal scale.​

Vahlrun Valkyries are Valkyries bred for one reason, War. In the past the Vahlruns have served as the vanguard of the Valkyries, the spearhead that breaks through enemy ranks. This subspecie has a shorter lifespan and ages faster than other Valkyries. In exchange for their shorter lives, Vahlruns have been granted with great physical prowess and an innate sense for combat and slaughter. Vahlruns cleave through their opponents like knife cutting through butter. They are effective killing machines, though it cost them their long lives. Despite being once the protectors of their kinds, the Vahlruns are now considered as relics of the past, barbarians and savage of an era long ago. The long lived and more varied Aifeax have long sinced outgrown the need for the Vahlruns protection, and like any old weapon, have since been discarded. Vahlruns now live in tribal units and are usually serving as a mercenary or as bandits and have a deep hatred and grudge towards the Aifeax.​

BACKGROUND
Faustus was born in the mountains, when he born their fathers were gone, so he had to survive by himself, the cold mountains were ruthless, with most of the animals being predators. He found a drake, a lesser variant of dragon, and was teached how to survive by himself, he eventually was found by a group of soldiers of the capital and was recruited, during his duty he meet many important people, and even meet the queen, since then he sworn protect the royal family at all cost. 500 Years later he was free from his duties, but he sworn to protect the land, so when he is needed he temporally rejoin the army.​
He then build his own lair not so far from the capital, and began bringing gold, gems and all sort of shiny things to his lair, this atracted unwanted visitors.​
A party of rogue demons got into his lair to steal the gold, but he defended it, he defeated the demons and keep his gold, but a scar from that battle remained.​
After a while he began raiding abandoned dungeons and cities for more wealth, this gave him reputation among adventurers and raiders, but soon, his lair became a popular raiding spot were thugs and bandits came driven by greed, but soon they were scared away, and those fool enough became scorched, black skeletons.​
He then offered his services for a very expensive price, he became a mercenary, but when things were against the capital, he would destroy his contractors.​

Praetorian: The praetorian people are an oldworld race of winged humanoids that migrated to the Land after they were driven out of their true homeland thousands of years ago. The remainder of the species is split between four tribes: North, East, South, and West; seperated far apart over the vast expanse of the Land. The tribes build their colonies into the existing natural foundations of cliffs, mountains, canyons or giant flora and are well hidden though a combination of structural design and magical wards. Due to the reclusive nature of praetorians, only the consuls are regularly encountered outside of the tribe territories.​
Consul: Consuls are a rare varient of praetorians born with black scales; they possess greater size and magical potential than regular praetorians and are born 'blood-hungry'. This makes them difficult to control without the right training, and is part of the reason that by law, no consul can belong to a tribe. Instead whenever a consul is born, they are handed over to the Ambassadors, where they will receive intensive physical and diplomatic training to become liaisons between the four tribes and between Praetorians and other species. It is also law that consuls are not to breed, take mates, or otherwise form attachments that might jeopardize their neutrality to the tribes.​
Shifter: A very rare occurance that has been known to appear in praetorians, shifters are born with the ability to alter their form at will. They can take on any of the qualities found in the praetorian race including magical ability and physical features, which is why the tribe leaders have agreed to consider rule all shifters destroyed at birth (or when otherwise discovered).​
Praetorians are an extremely diverse species, with four tribes that have each developed several subclasses based on their physical characteristics and abilities. Crossbreeding between classes does sometimes occur, but interbreeding between tribes is extremely rare due to the distance between them and cultural dissaproval.

Classes
Threkki: Making up 53% of the population, the threkki are the most numorous of the Western classes and can be distinguished from the saorri by their shorter, more muscular builds and smaller wingspans. They are usually dark blue, green, or purple with brightly colored chests and a banded tail pattern. They are notable for their tendency to perform running take-offs and their ability to dive deep into the water.​
Saorri: Making up about 43% of the western population, the saorri can be easily distinguished from the threkki by their leaner builds and long, tapered wings. They have smaller manes than other praetorian classes, with pale blue or green scales, silver-grey markings, and orange accents on their frills. Saorri are notable for their ability to remain airborn for several days at a time and are said to be very talented singers (although it is also said that their talking voices are incrediblely grating).​
Tsunmi: The Tsunmi are the largest praetorian class outside of consuls and make up only 4% of the western population. They are usually pale grey with an undersheen of blue, purple, or green with either a faint striped or blotched pattern. They have very thin scales (sometimes lacking them completely) and possess a more snout-like jaw with long teeth that protrude over their lips, giving them a slight lisp. Tsunmi often lack wings.​

Sephri is rather tall for her race, standing at a respectable 5'4". She's got a fairly thin and lightweight build which could be described as hourglass-y.​

EYES
Not only are her eyes almond-shaped, they are the color of dark almonds as well! Isn't that interesting?​

HAIR
What one sees as hair is really just another crown of feathers on the head, shoulder-length in height. It starts golden at the top before toning it down to auburn.​

SKIN/FUR/SCALE/FEATHER
Sephri is easily recognizable by her rainbow plumage, as you can see. Observe as the wings gradient from navy to lime, and the body shifts from varying hues of orange and yellow, all the way up to those magnificent neck feathers. As exotic as it may seem, these colorations are an entirely natural gift of nature - one which she wishes to share with others.​
Sephri's white hands and lower legs are scaled, which is quite useful for flight and deft handiwork.​

Sephriotte, behind her feathers of vanity, happens to be quite the pleasant character to those she knows well. Since the day she began her venture into the world of cosmetics and practical tinctures, the alchemist has allowed her innovative mind and self-assured attitude to guide her down the path to success. On the flip-side, Sephri's unwavering momentum in pursuing her craft causes her to avoid considering failure and adopt a reactive manner towards those who criticize her skills or appearance.​
All in all, though, she's not too hard to get along with. One will probably need feathers if they wish to do any real business with her, though.​

The Beenu are a fairly uncommon race in the Land of Wings, known for their shorter than average stature and unusually short lifespan, though this is balanced out by their ability to learn many things quickly and efficiently. They're all feathers and no beak, and they have little need to cover their modesty.​
Beenu tend to be free-spirited and relatively expressive, and can be just as comfortable on the ground as they are on the sky. Their affinity for knowledge, magic, and advancement allow them to secure a good place in various cultures and occupations.​

POWERS
Sephriotte is quite skilled in the use of wind magic, and utilizes it as a supernatural enhancement to her flight. Some of her regular clientele are racers, aerobats, and dancers who have shown her some of the skills used in their trades.​
Sephri can harness the nearby currents of the sky to her advantage, making it so the wind offers little resistance in her flight. As you can imagine, this really helps on a windy day.​
What else can she do, though? How about conjuring the occasional blast or stream of wind... or perhaps some fog, and maybe even some mist as well? With enough concentration and stamina, she may even be able to create a miniature cloud or two, and apply an enchantment on herself or a nearby person allowing them to walk on clouds.​

HOBBIES
Flying, of course. Sephri can fly reasonably fast and she can show off some of her products this way. On her own time, she experiments with alchemy and color shading, and has been said to even venture into painting a little. Naturally, your feathers are her canvas.​

TALENTS

Her specialty lies far beyond the many practical poultices and concoctions she has learned to make, extending to the realm of cosmetics. If you've come to Feathervain, you've likely come in search of an enhancement or even a complete makeover to your natural colors, for any reason. Whether it's for romance, showmanship, espionage, or something more, Sephriotte can do it all for you, in any pattern and any style. Here, even the most dark-hearted of ravens may transform into a soft-spoken dove, at least in appearance.​

Born to a family of narcissistic parents and similarly exotic brothers and sisters, Sephri ended up being one of the favorites among the children, though it was really more as a result of her appearance than anything else as she was often displayed (and I mean held out, Lion King style) to the various other feathered denizens of the winglands, as if her plumage was some sort of heavenly gift that deserved the utmost care and attention.​
Growing up, though, the influence of Sephri's parents soon faded with the introduction of another couple children, and the less than endearing attitude she had inherited would soon adapt into a keen eye for the arts of alchemy and self-expression, as well as the revelation that it was not possible for the world to revolve around a single being. At some point before the Beenu had even reached a decade of age, the idea of entrepreneurship entered her mind as well.​
Naturally, there was only one course of action that could be taken at this point in life, and that was for Sephriotte to seek out a fulfilling career as a self-employed 'plumagier' - a creator, innovator, and purveyor in the most respectable field of alchemical concoctions and natural cosmetics. Though it started off rough, as most of these sorts of businesses do, it wasn't long before Sephri perfected her own, original creations that she would become known for: feather dyes that could potentially change the entire identity of an individual, if they so desired.​
Being the innovator she was, her business tended to be one with momentum, and over the years Sephriotte ended up adding more hands to her work (one of them being the second person in the image) and travelling the winglands in search of various fascinating displays of expression - with flying races, cloud dancers, and aerobatic shows (her favorite) appearing among such displays - each one providing her with more ideas, additional concoctions, and unique ways to contribute to the craft of others, who repaid her in kind through inside secrets and some of the arcane knowledge she's picked up throughout her life.​
Though certain incidents at some point in her life have made her extremely wary of being approached in a romantic manner, Sephriotte still wishes to grant others an opportunity to speak their own desires and express their many emotions through their feathers, as the many birds of the Land Below are known to do. In time, this Beenu's own feats, desires, and sense of self-expression would lend her business, and Sephri herself, the title of Feathervain.​

Plumagerie Kit - As one might expect, it's a kit of various dyes that can be mixed to create various colors and shades. This dye is designed for coloring and retouching feathers in whatever pattern is desired. Included is a concoction that safely removes dye from feathers.​

Featherpreen - A staple in wing preservation, as it greatly improves healing and retainment of feathers. Useful for those who get into physical situations often or want to look young no matter what. It's a mild irritant against scales and skin.​

Contrails - Commonly used in aerobatics feats, this mixture of water and dye will condense at high speeds in midair, creating a colorful trail behind the flier that is pleasing to all eyes. For example, you can create the blue number 18 which is clearly the most important rule. A small modification can create a condensed plume instead - like a smoke bomb, without the smokey feeling.​

Featherfye - A small rune or scroll that can be cast to bewitch a target's weight to that of a feather for about a minute. It makes them quite susceptible to being knocked around.​

Curuxate - A rare and very expensive mist used for espionage. Spraying this on will temporarily modify feather structure, causing it to be similar to that of an owl's and thus eliminating much of the sound that comes from flight.​

Eoin is determined, impulsive, naive, and above all else, inquisitive. He has difficulty grasping the elusive nuances of social graces and will blunder through the circumlocution of most conversations with the unapologetic stoicism of a glacier. That is not to say that he is completely without decorum; he simply believes in finding the most succinct and effective way to voice his options and answer inquiries. This staggeringly honest approach to life has allowed him to trust where many would favor suspicion and has lead to situations in which minor misunderstandings become grave injustices or damnable comedies. Despite the mayhem left in his wake, Eoin is unperturbed by his mistakes. He simply learns from them and moves on. As long as he has the ability to move forward, the snickers and jeers and fears matter not, even if he does feel himself made the Fool, at times.​

SPECIES
Wivean are humanoid with chimeric, but predominantly avian, characteristics. Notoriously long-lived and, omnivores, they prefer warm climates, being susceptible to wintry conditions. They are sexually dimorphic, and experience mating seasons once a decade, though it is possible (and rare) to conceive outside that time. Their population is subsequently quite small , overall. They can adeptly fly with the use of their wings.​
A contributing factor to wivean longevity is their accelerated healing rate, which delays senescence, but does not halt it, especially if faced with grave injuries. Their bones are hollow but reinforced with hyper compressed carbon (read: diamond). Employing their healing factor and maintaining their reinforced bone structure greatly increases their metabolisms, though most wivean waive the costs by intentionally reducing their healing factors in relaxed situations.​
Wivean are extremely social creatures. Their bright, vibrant coloration and affable natures make them friendly to most sentient forms of life.​
Their bodies are covered in soft scales that closely resemble feather down. They go through a complete molt once a year, that lasts a month and can change the secondary, and tertiary, colors of their scales during this time (in the picture white is the primary color and gray is the secondary).​
Alongside their natural flight and healing factor, all wivean are known to have a minor empathic ability.​

  • Winged Flight - A racial trait, and pretty self explanatory
  • Self-repair and reinforcement - A racial trait. This accelerated healing factor increases all wivean lifespans from 80 years to 400 if used purely to delay senescence, and with an exorbitant amount of food. Otherwise, the average lifespan of a wivean is 150 years factoring in the potential for at least three fatal injuries, and a life of scrapes, bumps and bruises. While healing fatal injuries costs approximately 50 years of life, most other injuries are cost equivalent and experience accelerated healing times up by the next increment of time; a 3 week injury heals in 3 days, or a 6 month injury heals in 6 weeks. The added benefit of reinforced bone structure merely supports this healing factor by ensuring nothing but clean breaks where bone injuries are concerned. The healing factor can be consciously dampened to preserve one's lifespan, however losing consciousness through any means other than natural sleep allows self-repair to operate at full capacity.
  • Bioluminesence - A power unique to Eoin. He is able to store ambient light in his scales, fur, and feathers to shed at a later time. Though usually used to provide night vision by storing sun/moonlight and shedding it in soft waves to impersonate a full moon during the new moon or bolstering a waning moon, it can be used to release bursts of light that temporarily blind and disorient onlookers.
  • Psycho-location - A power unique to Eoin, which explains his lack of an empathic power. His antennae allow him to sense the "noise" of sentient minds in a mile radius passively and twice as much if he focuses. This ability can only compass his surroundings, not read individual thoughts. Actively using this ability in crowded area to search out a particular mind causes Eoin great discomfort and sometime outright pain.
  • Lunar Legerdemain - A power unique to Pale Ones. Eoin uses his connection to the moon to fire beams of concentrated moonlight, or reflected sunlight, to great destructive force. Unfortunately, Eoin's particular application of lunar magic is difficult to control and has been known fire multiple beams in a deadly scattershot or pulse too much force behind a single shot. Needless to say, this is Eoin's trump card and an attack he can only afford to "reliably" fire once before completely exhausting himself, supplementing technique for sheer force of will.

BACKGROUND
Eoin tries to explain his past to others, but seeing as Cuelaph, the wivean language, is a complicated amalgamation of bird-calls and word-phrase structures, much is untranslatable. What is apparent, however, is that Eoin is the youngest of a large family and is the black sheep due to his unnaturally ambivalent nature and leucistic characteristics. His childhood was spent sheltered from the disapproval of his species and his parents, and he became the youngest wivean to leave Cuelav, wivean country, without an escort, which would have been a scandal if he hadn't been exiled for accidentally demolishing a wivean neighborhood.​
Apparently in wivean culture, those born with pale feathers are consider harbingers of change. Unfortunately, most wivean consider them harbingers of calamity, and practice strict traditions of prejudice and seclusion against any such "Pale One". Eoin, of course, was no exception, especially since he's been the first born on over 2 millennia. As such, his life was filled with anemic touches, vengeful glares, and the pained looks of his parents, who could not show him anymore affection than was "necessary". It was this isolation that shaped Eoin's curious mind and unshakable resolve; when he left Cuelav, he would not allow fear and propriety to halt his progress.​
Unsurprisingly, Eoin has had many precarious adventures since leaving Cuelav. His naivete has led to his inclusion in many illegal acts, trespasses, and transactions that he’d been convinced were perfectly legal, or "victim-less". Being the determined, and some would say self-righteous, wivean that he is, Eoin defended his actions and voiced his “rights” to the courts, once he was finally caught, to his own detriment, and the courts abject bemusement. Thankfully, Eoin’s family was notified of his crimes, since he’s technically a minor, and could explain Eoin’s unique mental state: an incorrigible shut-in that has been turned out by his own people. It didn’t hurt that his family also has ties to nobility. Using his diplomatic immunity weighed against the severity of his crimes, Eoin could have his record expunged, if he managed to stay out of trouble for the next couple decades, which is what has landed him in a job as a sword for hire, on probation. Not exactly and job on the "straight and narrow", but one what was public enough to pass.​


OTHER
Pale Ones, like Eoin, are known to have an affinity for the moon. Though the reason unknown, there is speculation that the first ever Pale One used the tide ruling forces of the moon to assist in the RIsing of the Land.​

Transmutos, commonly known as Shifters are very distant relatives of human beings. Shifters are a genus that stem from the phylumchordata under the animal kingdom. Scientists have determined their class different to mammalia, in which humans stem from. Shape shifting creatures fall under the class pangenos, meaning all or several of agene or type of gene, which is incidentally expressed when their shapes change.Transmutos stem from the digenetic family, in which the organism maintains two separate DNA strands in their nucleus, each coding for two completely different creatures.

It is a commonly accepted theory that Shifters evolved from regular shape changing organisms when their environments stabilized. They normally keep one human form, in order to communicate and interact with mankind without incident, as well as a complex genotype coded in their other DNA strand. The complexity of the second DNA make it impossible for the Shifter to inherit multiple phenotypes, which is necessary in most shape changers and skin changers (for example, a doppleganger). Thus, the ability to hone and build upon that second DNA strand was encouraged to survive, and today most Shifters have immensely complex alternate forms, such as dragons, pegasi, and griffins, to name a few.

Sean is a relatively friendly person, outgoing and confident in his daily interactions with others. He can come off as arrogant sometimes, but he is proud of what he and who he is and what it took to reach his current point. Strength is something that is earned, and Sean doesn't like people that boast of natural talent without the need to improve. Same goes for Sean's respect, which is easily dashed by those that feel entitled to other's respect. Not easily a trusting person, Sean will keep most people at a distance until he feels they have proven truly worth his trust and feels he has earned theirs as well. When it comes to fighting, Sean is an analytical person, and doesn't often enter a fight without some preparations. Capable of being used in tandem with Dragon Thunder, though doing so drains magic power at twice the rate. The fire is weak to water elemental magic types, and cannot be used while submerged. Using this power causes the body to gradually heat up, and thus extended use can result in the user becoming sick.​
Dragon Thunder - Capable of generation and controlling lightning. Can be channeled from all parts of the body. Capable of being concentrated to increase destructive potential, such as with the famous breath attacks. Capable of being used in tandem with Dragon Fire, though doing so will drain magic power at twice the rate. Because this power is not natural to the body, the user experiences higher levels of strain and magic drain while using this power. If the user is soaked in a conductive liquid, the user runs the high risk of electrocuting themselves and others around them.​
Magic Consumption - Capable of consuming the magic of others and gaining the ability to use that magic for a short time. To be able to use this ability, the user's own magic power must be exhausted. Using this ability is very strenuous on the body, and once the consumed magic is depleted, the user is left unable to move for some time due to the nature of the foreign magic. Consequently, consumption of a magic that is too powerful or destructive may result in the death of the user due to extreme strain on the body. This power is limited to magic that can be eaten, and cannot reproduce psychic magics, or holder (item) type magics.​

HOBBIES
Sean enjoys spending time outside, usually flying through the clouds. When he is alone, he will sometimes meditate to clear his mind and connect with the magical energy around him. Eating is an extreme obsession, and Sean can easily eat more food in his human form than 10 people combined without much issue. His weakness is spicy and sugary foods. Because of his love of exercise, Sean often practices his martial arts, either by himself or with someone of high skill.​

BACKGROUND
Eon was born a fire dragon, though he never met his sire and dam. Before he hatched, his nest was attacked by Dragon Hunters, and his egg was stolen. The thieves ferried his egg around for several weeks keeping it alive with magic, looking for a buyer. Eventually, Eon would be rescued by a Angel outcast, the thieves finally facing justice. When Eon hatched, his savior raised him, and through the years taught him language, basic and extensive concepts of the world, and how to control his magic. Many many years would pass in this fashion, but eventually Eon would need to venture outside of the home territory he had lived in for eighty years. Eon would pass across the land, encountering many different creatures and people, some friendly, others not.​
One day, Eon would accidentally venture into the territory of a feral Lightning Dragon, and the two would fight end up fighting. The battle was savage, Eon received heavy damage from his opponent. On the brink of defeat and death, the Lightning Dragon unleashed its breath attack. Eon in desperation opened his mouth and consumed the magic. The result was Eon gaining lightning for the first time, and he used it to defeat his opponent. However, the magic was so powerful that it caused Eon to go into a Frenzy. He attacked villages and destroyed landscapes indiscriminately as the fire and lightning magic in his body clashed. Through fate or luck, a brave and powerful spellcaster saw the clashing powers and knew that Eon was not attacking of his own will. The spellcaster then cast a two-part spell, part one bound the Lightning magic to Eon, making it his own. The second part transformed Eon into a human form, reducing his magic power to manageable levels.​
As a human, Eon faced a severe identity crisis, and so with the help of a couple others, he spent a few years adjusting to his new form. Because of this transition, Eon wasn't allowed to return to him true form until he was ready. Eon was given the name Sean and was introduced to the island society. Centuries passed, and Sean became happy with his life, becoming a mercenary for dangerous missions and an elemental combat instructor for the island.​

Kaythina is a Harpy. She has wings coming from the backs of her arms, from her shoulders to her wrist. Although there are different types of harpies, based how different the percentage of Avian is to the Human. Kaythina is About 15% Avian, and 85% Gifted Mortal. Harpies have different placements of wings and come in all sorts of colors. But Noticeable Similarities between each type is their wings are normally are connected to their arms, and some section of their legs are that of a bird.​

Form Shift: Kaythina is able to change certain aspects of her Form. She can Change her Wings to be smaller and more compact for every day to day activities, so instead of her wings doing down her entire arm, they'll just be smaller and n her bicep or forearm only. She's also able to form shift into a small Dove is she wants. She's been practicing that trick her whole life.​

Crafting: Growing up in a household where their secondary job was creating jewelry to sell, she picked up the skills to craft items together and make very pretty jewelry.
Fighting: She used to rough house with her father a lot, and eventually began getting into street fights when she goes on adventures out of the capital. She would normally fight to help someone out if they seemed to be in trouble.​


BACKGROUND
Kaythina's Family is part of the Advisor group to the Capital Family. So she grew up pretty well off, which made her kind of a spoiled brat in her early years. She spent most of her days Hidden away with her nose in a book and sometimes sneaking out to view people. This is what started her bad habit of over-analyzing situations and seeing most possible outcomes, even if she never minded any of them. When she wasn't reading or sneaking out, she was with her mother cooking or learning to create jewelry.
As she grew and learned more about the politics of her home, the more she kind of became a rebel. Although she didn't go against laws put down, she didn't fully act as civil as she should've. She enjoyed picking fights with others. She enjoyed sneaking out still and, did it more often. She was more of a loner so she would for hours, even sometimes leave the capital. She'd spend a lot of her time as a bird just sitting on roof edges just watching other for hours before flying home. She normally did this the days her parents were very busy with the Capital family. Its known secret to keep her sneaking out and adoration for fighting a secret from her parents. Mostly because a lot of people know her family, and how strict and proper her parents are. They hardly allowed her to get her piercings.
But Kaythina is now unhappy with life. Although she likes to fight and read, it doesn't give her the same things as it once had. Fighting is still one thing she loves, but she wants more out life than creating pretty objects and getting into pointless street fights. She's recently started wandering around the other areas of the land. Exploring more and more. Sometimes even vanishing for days. Going on an adventure. She wants to know more about everything, more than what she can get from books. She wants to see everything with her own eyes. And She doesn't care about the trouble she gets in with her parents.​

Quarry is a griffin of the Sorinjr line. A warrior class that is capable of great strength. Being a Sorinjr Quarry was expected to be a vicious warrior with exceptional skill in all things to do with combat. Griffins are separated into four different lines. The Turvs, the Yewsalds, the Rihkl, and the Sorinjr. Each line has different strengths, and looks. Griffins live in a sort of monarchy. However they have four distinct rulers, one from every line, as well as a council to advise each leader. Sorinjrs were the first line, creating a society after establishing a territory a few thousand years ago. the Griffins have a history of causing conflicts with other species. Believing that only griffins had the power, and knowledge to truly rule the land of wings. However they do follow the rule of the Rucrosa family, although there is a shady rebellion against this "blasphemy" of being ruled by a "lesser" species.​

POWERS
Like all Sorinjrs Quarry has great physical strength. A trade off for this is that Quarry lacks great speed, or any adeptness at metalworks. He also has no gifts in the field of being a seer. (Looking into pasts, and futures of other beings). Those are the gifts of the other lines. All griffins cannot speak in a physical way with their mouths. They use their minds to relay messages to other species. It takes some skill to keep this communication quiet. It mostly can be heard by anyone nearby, and is only a one way communication because griffins can understand the normal language.​

BACKGROUND
Quarry was born into a family with five siblings. His parents were close to the Sorinjr representative of the griffin government. Quarry was expected to be a vicious warrior ready to kill anything that even set foot on griffin territory. However Quarry just didn't have the normal traits of a Sorinjr. This badly disappointed his father. Two of his siblings had disappeared, most likely joining the rebellion putting it even more directly on the remaining children to bring honor to their family. Quarry continued to stay in his more peaceful state. This eventually tired out his parents. They disowned him. Quarry was banished from griffin territory mostly for being a Sirav. A griffin who did not fufill the duty of their line.​
Quarry had two choices he could either seek out the rebellion or strike out for another home. Quarry wanted nothing but peace with other species. He struck out on a great journey. Traveling the Land of Wings to see it in all of its glories. He met other species, and tried to be friendly with any race that was respondent to it. Quarry went from temple to temple, from dungeon to dungeon exploring as many things as he could. Until he heard about the capital.​
A place where all species gathered in peace sounded like the perfect place for a peace loving griffin to go. He traveled until he reached the capitol trying to set up a shop. Although his friendliness is often undermined by the fact that he's a griffin. One of the very races that caused so many wars to even count in the past. A Sorinjr no less, the line most other species knew as killers, and raiders. Quarry still tries however to make the world see him in a different light.​

Build: A literal silver metallic ball with a blue glow coming from gaps in it with a blue sphere in the center for an eye.


Structural makeup: George is made of an ultra hard non planet found material that has similar properties to silver.

Summary: George has no sense of humor. He wasn't built with one in mind. He also sees everyone as a reclaimer 'whatever that is' and talks about a shiny ring amongst the stars that he calls or once called home. George currently resides in the central library as his memory for practically everything is astounding. He sees those who talk loudly as unnecessary and will typically shun them out of the library as he says it "Disturbs the stored data".

TALENTS

Flight: Despite lacking wings or anything that could provide lift; George can fly for an indefinite amount of time. He also says that these primitive species would not understand how it works with their crude limits in scientific knowledge.

Light Beam: Despite looking defenseless, George is not as subtle as he appears. If he feels threatened he will unleash a powerful beam of bright red light that can stun massive foes and out right fry smaller ones.

Being noticed: Everyone who first goes to the library Is first met with George. He has yet to have met someone who hasn't thought he was created by a wizard or some other magical being.



HOBBIES


Georges' favorite pastime is research and the understanding of astronomy. He finds that these beings have a primitive and almost barbaric knowledge of the stars above them. Thus he loves to teach scientists and research the stars not only to help the beings here. But also to hopefully find a way back home.




BACKGROUND

Not much is known of George except for that he one day literally fell from the sky and coincidentally crashed into the library. He was referred to as George because his actual name (G30R93) was to hard to consistently repeat over and over. Also it sounded really awkward to shout out loud. Other than that there is not much else that is known about George.

BACKGROUND
She was born in a cave, like many dragons, but since she was born she was taught in the path of the dark magic. She became a black dragon. After years of being ruthless, she meet with a certain griphon, that became her closest, and only, friend. The gryphon helped her to regain her kindness, and eventually they became more than just friends.​
After some years, she became a night dragon. But then, something happened, her parents found out why she had become good, and killed the gryphon. In fury, she managed to get her parents into a trap, and kill them.​
After that, she was alone, nobody with her. She then, got into a mercenary camp. she joined those mercenaries, and made friends. She eventually became a freelance mercenary.​

Lena belongs to the line of original angelic creatures, the Aharown, the light bringers. Though nowadays mostly known as Royal Angels.
The Aharown were among the first creatures to exist on land. The species since then has evolved, intermingled, and expanded its variety, so there are a large number of light wielding species that can trace back their origins to being partly Aharown.
Some of the most notable variations that evolved from them are the Seraphim, the generic angel, and cherubs.
The power of the Aharown is solely limited to light magic. They can not use any other kind of magic than that associated with light. This means their strengths lay mostly in healing and defensive powers such as barriers. Light can be used as offense, but the Aharown refrain from engaging in battle themselves unless absolutely necessary.

The last notable thing about the Aharown is that they age similarly to humans up till they become of age, generally between 16 and 18, and after that their aging slows down by half, extending their lifespan to roughly twice the age of a human.​

POWERS
Light magic: Lena can use a wide range of light based spells and incantations. She is trained to defend herself if need be, but she is so often surrounded by people who will protect her that she has never needed to use her spells outside of the training grounds.
While most forms of magic could harm her if they reached her, it is light itself that does the most damage to her as light can not fully defend against light. The second most harmful to her is fire magic as it is an unrefined form of light.

Barrier magic: Lena has a powerful barrier that she can create. She is connected to the barrier around her own palace. Because being connected to a barrier would be very taxing on a single person there are those that assist in keeping it up and making it as large as it is. Not only that, there are crystals laid out below the palace grounds as well as the city to act as a booster so Lena only needs to put in the absolute minimum of work.
Most of the time it is a 'soft' barrier, meaning anyone can pass through, however it can be hardened to prevent people from entering or exiting.
The effects of having her connected to the barrier are: being able to sense who are in the barrier if she focusses, being able to harden the barrier so no one can leave or enter, as well as force someone out of the barrier by creating a ripple effect from within. This does cause others in that person's direct vicinity to also be pushed away.
Lena's own personal barrier range would be roughly big enough to surround her and roughly 20 people.​

HOBBIES
Lena loves to sneak out and explore the city. She visits local shops when she can and has a tendency to collect little memorabilia.​

Her greatest talent would perhaps be the way she leads her country.
Other than that she doesn't have time to invest in other talents or hobbies. Though as a child she was trained in various arts as her parents saw fit.​


BACKGROUND
Lena was born into the Rucrosa family as Lena Genevieve and from that moment on was raised to be the next heir to the throne. When Lena was still young she loved the idea of being a princess, but as she grew older she started to learn what ruling a kingdom was really about and learned about all of the obligations that were tied to her heritage and privileges. Eventually the princess came to dislike the fact that she was the next queen, wishing to escape that fate. Many nights she had stared out into the night, imagining what it would be like to run away. One night, when her parents were out, she took action and left the palace. However, once she reached the city's border, she didn't dare to leave. Perhaps it was responsibility weighing down on her, a conscious, or perhaps even curiosity towards the city she had just passed through. She never was really clear as to why she had stopped, but she did.

When Erebos, the general of the royal guard, found her she was wandering the streets, sightseeing. Not wanting to worry her parents, or have them put guards on her at all times, the two agreed to never mention this to anyone, and should she want to explore the city again, she was to come to him so they could go together.
Years passed, and a love blossomed between the General and the Princess. But before the two could act upon it and make it public, Lena's parents came with shocking news. She was to be wed to an angel of her parents' choosing.
Lena was strongly opposed to marrying some man that someone else picked out for her, especially after she fell in love with Erebos, despite him being a demon. Her parents most certainly didn’t approve of this love, and ordered her to marry the man of their choice. Eventually she obliged.

As a married woman Lena couldn’t forget her love for that demon, Erebos. So secretly she kept seeing him.After three years of marriage the Land rejoiced as Princess was pregnant, ensuring the continuation of the Rucrosa family line. When the time came Lena gave birth to a baby girl. The joy of having a next heir to the throne was cut off the moment anyone laid eyes on the child.
It was obvious from the girl's appearance that she was not fully an angel, and that Lena's husband was definitely not the father.
It was one of the greatest scandals that she could commit, or so they told her, the child was to be disposed of, and Erebos thrown in jail with the accusation that he had forced her.

Not wanting the child of her one true love be taken and disposed of, she secretly gave the order to some of her servants to hide this child away and let her be adopted in secret. To the public it was announced that the child had been a still born, and thus the whole event was swept under the rug.
After all this Lena returned to her husband, and remained faithful to him. Though they didn't have any children.
About a year later they were crowned King and Queen, and the king took up the mantel of being the general over the Royal Guard while she resumed her duties as queen.

Ten years ago the king was on his deathbed, dying of an illness that ran in his family. It was there, by his side, that Lena realized that she had come to love the man she once despised. With nothing that the doctors could do to cure him, he passed away, leaving Lena childless according to the law.

Despite the urging on from some of her advisors, Lena decided not to remarry for the sake of the country. Only if she would find love again would she marry. And that hasn't happened since.​


OTHER
Without telling anyone, except a small search party, Lena has been looking for her daughter, but with no luck.
She still sneaks out of the palace from time to time. It doesn't happen often, the only times she does this is if there is no work that needs her direct attention. Which is rare.
Lena has a collection of a bunch of things, ranging from metal flowers from the smith to glass ornaments. All of which she has bought or received over the years of sneaking out into the city.​
