Journey to Neverland

...Aesthetics are currently in progress for the post...
The Base of it All Our world is divided. Shattered, one might say. What used to be one giant community is now separated, divided by beliefs, goals, objectives. Kings and Queens no longer mean anything to the general population. Now it is all about the Magus and their factions, wizards and their spells, adventurers and their quests. Some think of them as the higher power, almost equalizing them to Gods and Goddesses.
Yet the funny thing is, they are everything that's wrong with this world. Monarch Magus is the title that one wants to wear but fears to obtain. They are the ones who hold economy, politics and culture in their grasp of the land they've "conquered". Why in quotes, you ask? Well, because that is how it is called. Conquering is just a matter of war between factions usually without consequential losses or collateral damage. That is often not the case, though.
What's fascinating is that everyone and anyone can start their own faction, however, the general rules set by the "Mighty Above" written in books apply to all. Failure to follow these rules result in total annihilation of the faction. Those are usually gruesome.
This is a story about one of these factions created not so long ago. "Journey" only consists of a few dozen people with land yet to be claimed their own. Based in Riverown, they strive to become huge not by conquering, but by getting the people to revert to them as that is also an option of obtaining land. Through votes of the general mass.
Journey takes up missions from people around that are in need of assistance. Be it an escort through the dangerous forests of Marshwood, hunt for a huge Titanlass or just a simple errand. They get paid for it and they enjoy it, thus gaining the trust of Riverown and later - all of Cardwell. These plans, though, are secret, so they do not get much attention from other factions. Yet one has taken interest in them - "Neverland". They are the current Conquerors of Cardwell, a whole empire and the factions within it except for Journey. Sarn Weiss, the leader and titled Goddess, First Magus of Neverland seeks to gain control over Journey as well, though not through war, but through friendship and collaboration. And so far it's been going great.
Though Ricky Malone The Bloodbone, the First Magus of Journey is only in relationship with Neverland because of need. Because of the danger that might come if he refused. They do not plan to hold the friendship long. The only thing that's needed is a wider range of Magus within Journey.
And so, about a dozen newcomers joined the faction, all Ninth Magus. With a little bit of training they will prove to be a strong lot. They might actually be the turning point for Journey...

The Rules of Magus 1. Ranking is done from Fifteenth to First Magus (Also known as Monarch Magus).
2. A faction can only be created once ten people sign to join and is approved by Grand Magus or the "Mighty Above"
3. Wars and battles are encouraged, yet not mandatory.
4. To claim a city, the faction must have at least two members as residents and no other faction members can be.
5. A faction is active only while the Faction Hall is present.
6. To become Monarch Magus, one must defeat the present or create their own faction.

The Ways of Magic
Everyone who becomes familiar with magic starts being the Fifteenth Magus. Ranking changes every year during the annual Contest of the Magus, during which a massive, five day tournament is held to determine ranking. The tournament consists of three stages: Battle Stage, Performance Stage and Knowledge Stage. At the end of all three, evaluations are assessed and ranks are announced through Magimail.
Since magic is an ever growing science within our world, new spells are developed every single day and must be learned through reading and practice. It is quite difficult to create a spell and usually only ranks Fifth Magus and higher do that, yet there are shops around the world who sell spell scrolls for learning and libraries who have huge books for studying. It is counted that all around the world, there are currently about seventeen million different spells known, excluding the ones not yet shown to public or held within private faction safe houses and libraries. And magic can be almost anything if you have the knowledge to create it.

The rest will be explained when the roleplay starts...
