"Growf!"
This RP is partly based on the TV series Gotham. However it is going to include superpowers. They aren’t common, but they are out there. And for the most part law enforcement is trying to deny their existence. The characters herein will be Original. This means no James Gordon (though there will be a few good ones out there fighting the good fight), no Bruce Wayne, no Penguin, Riddler, etc. I just like the gothic setting, the corrupt cops, that general feeling of mobs and mayhem.
This is an RP for those of the heroic mindset. This means not vigilantes, not antiheroes. A hero is one who lives by a moral code. Two wrongs do not make a right.

Welcome to Gotham Memorial Hospital. You were discovered in some random part of town, your body dumped, naked, absolutely no clues to your identity. (Your body was scrubbed medically clean before it was dumped.) You were, however, in perfect health save for perhaps a little malnutrition, of cuts and bruises from being dumped or rescued. You were given a psychiatric evaluation which you passed quite well.
You were given the name John (or Jane) Doe with a number - at least until they could ID you or you picked out a name. There are still a few decent people in the world, so your initial medical expenses have been covered if needed.
Now for the really weird part. They say this place is Gotham. Yeah … like the comic books. How weird is that? Sure you know your name. But the question is would anyone believe you? It gets weirder. You have an ID here in Gotham, but you have no idea who you are in Gotham. You have no memories of living in this world. But everyone here remembers you. You have a job, or lack thereof. You may have family, friends, relationships, even pets.
The assumption is that you were mugged, maybe kidnapped for some experiment. Noone really knows. The loss of your memories is something noone can explain, certainly not the fact that you have a complete set of other memories.
And soon it will get weirder. You are going to develop powers - superpowers. It will be up to you whether you tell the world. But these powers will give you the chance to make a difference in Gotham.
Characters
Members will design the character that they were on our Earth. I will edit as we go with Gotham personalities, jobs, backgrounds, and powers. You may have been a millionaire, homeless, military, a college student, etc. But all that may change.
All characters should be young and healthy (in Gotham), capable of being superheroes, and of a heroic mindset. Odd are, if you had a professional specialty on our Earth, you will have a background on Gotham that addresses it. For example, you might have been a hot shot engineer. But here you might have dropped out of college and got into a dead end relationship.
Posting
This is a DETAILED RP. Members are expected to post 3-5 times per week, if not daily.
Just an FYI
The Super "hero" ID's of Batman and Dark Knight are in use already in the RP. (Both of the characters are fans of the comic. For one the use of the name was a joke. For the other ... hey, it's plagiarism at its best.) And yes, there will be an Arkham.
