Name: Detective James Green

Age: 27

Gender: Male

Height: 6' 1"

Weight: 188 lbs

Birthplace: Ireland, Lara Wicklow

Background: Ever since he was a child, James always had a nose for history, not so much for historical events in the past but... the recent past, what happened, why did it happen. It made some things rather hard to hide from the child, and at times he found something he really didn't want to find. By age of 4 he found the easter bunny wasn't real, Santa by 7, the tooth fairy by 8, the boogie man by 9 as he stayed in the closet with a flashlight all night. of course he got in trouble for that last one due to him staying up all night, but hey, he showed that closet who's boss! A child with a strong head on his shoulders.... save for when it came to ask for something. it is the oddest thing in truth, when it came down to him asking for anything he'd rather simply do the job himself, nothing wanting to bother the person in question. If it was a friend he was fine but a stranger he'd stall up and freeze, with his parents it took abit of working up to, as he viewed them as giving him so much already he just felt... guilty for asking. This changed drastically when it came to asking questions about assignments, rumors or even simply figuring out who the hell stole his snack. When it came to interrogations, it was like a switch went on in his head, and the child could squeeze out information with ease. All in the name of justice, and seeing the culprit get their deserved punishment.

in his later years he found ways to get over his shyness, making friends, learning names, knowing that it's his colleague's jobs to help him. However he still found it hard to ask folks to hand him a pencil... of course, as an officer of the law he had to do his job. Subduing a criminal was just in the job description, and often it could be done by simply cowing the person into complying, a glare here, and sharp tone, simply being seen as "Scary" can help a great deal in getting a criminal to co-operate. However, in his years of Police work his forte lay in the very thing he practiced most in his childhood years, investigation, and in his work his skills were well noticed. Going through training to temper his natural skills he managed to bring up a good name for himself through his deeds.

Even earning himself a promotion, Detective James Green, the shy kid who couldn't even ask his parents for a cookie, solving crimes and interviewing people... Who would have thought.

Personality:

The most interesting thing about human beings in the oddity that is their temperament, some might be the most docile creatures you've ever seen and suddenly, should you press that singular button you should not have, they become the most ruthless beings on the planet. We snap in seconds, baring teeth and claws as if we were always waiting for somebody, anybody, to step into the trap. For this particular character imagine a modest man, dutiful and neat he goes about his days as he should, he dislikes asking things of others as he does not wish to bother them, so he on occasion takes abit longer in his work as he would have otherwise with abit of help. Should a person not seem busy at all, he may have trouble getting it out but he is able to at least recruit some assistance.... So perhaps it is less about shyness, but more overthinking? The man would wish for some assistance but imagines the person in question is already far to busy for him, perhaps this behavior stemmed from a time his parents indeed neglected his needs in favor of a pressing matter, burning into his mind to leave them be, stretching into an issue of asking for anything from them... In fear of being scorned.

Now, to go into his flaw, his vice. To be vindictive, one needs to harbor a large reservoir of unreleased anger. Reeling the dogs in when it comes to something that just causes you so much annoyance or discontent that it becomes harder and harder to keep your hands on the leash. A person calling you a stupid nickname, insulting your work or friends or your person, even coming down to a little faux pas a person commits by pure accident. At the wrong time this can rightly ruin a relationship, or cause a worse effect. A vindictive person takes revenge, cold or hot, they will remember every slight a person gives them, weighing things carefully with each act or word. A off comment can become another nail in a coffin should you not remedy your actions with his type of person... But you shall also find them exceedingly loyal, they will never wish you harm and will always be ready to help. Because they know what they wouldn't want done to them and hope you will follow their lead. A small slight is nothing, but it may just be the feather that broke the camel's back if you are not careful. (TL DR: An elephant never forgets.)

The virtue, or as I call it, the vice that fulfills the superego. To be just is to see that all is fair, that all is right. To see that crime does not pay and that said payment is fair, for justice is not simply the punishment of the crime, but the equal treatment of the criminal. To see an end to a dispute peacefully and to prevent further conflict, he became a police officer to do this. To make a better world, a world where justice reigns. At least a better world for the place he is stationed, he knows he won't be changing the world, but small victories are victories still.
