A little way outside the village of Kaisertin, there sat a farm; on this farmland, the family who owned it farmed wheat fields. This wheat has been said to be the best in Ryke, making some of the more expensive breads the country has to offer. This region has thus been also known as the Sea of Gold for the wheat grown on this farm. For miles, there are fields and fields. Around this time of the year, Farmer Klanston put out a request to hire those who are willing to come out and help him harvest fields upon fields of grain, even throwing in a sack of the grain itself once the job had been completed. However, this wasn't the typical year fro the farmer; while the farmer was one of the wealthiest farmers, he couldn't have paid anyone to stop what was about to happen next.

Over the last week, some of the fields have started to wilt and die; if anyone asked about the matter, they would hear the story about the fox deity that supposedly inhabited the land. In years past many of those in the village would make offerings to the fox deity though in recent years, that has slowly dried up. Among those that used to do so was Farmer Klanston though if you were to ask him why his fields were dying, he would say that the war brought misfortune to his farm.

Kellum and Chisato stood at the main gate in front of the main farm house. The request to solve this mystery was been posted at the adventurer's guild and the pay wasn't terrible on top of getting paid a little extra by the farmer if they could solve the matter at hand. "Kellum did we really need to come all the way out here? Its hot and it seems like we are just going to be harvesting fields rather than solving a mystery," Chisato pointed out as she wiped some sweat from her forehead.

"You can't be serious right? You can't tell me that you are not even interested in this mystery at all? I mean not even a little? Besides I'm hot too but there isn't much we can do about that at the moment, the sooner we solve the issue here the sooner we can return to the law office," Kellum replied as he leaned against the fence, the Klanston had gone into the main house to gather some paper work while the rest of the people showed up to help with the fields. Though none of the people so far had come to solve the problem they were just here to harvest the wheat while they still could.

MISSY
Standing [F Grade Character] Titles [Beast, Large] Point Booster [Attentive Student F]
Missy wasn't much for fancy cities or complicated stuff. She was big and she liked the feel of solid ground under her boots. The wilderness was nice and all, but today she decided to give this farm thing a try. Farmer Klanston needed help with his wheat, and Missy reckoned she could handle that. She wasn't much for solvin' mysteries, especially ones 'bout fox deities and wilting fields. But givin' a hand with harvestin' sounded like a fair deal.

The farm, they called it the Sea of Gold 'cause of their fancy wheat, was just a bit outside the village. Missy could see them fields stretchin' far and wide. She'd heard 'bout how good their wheat was – makin' fancy bread and all that. Farmer Klanston wanted help, so he put out a notice at the adventurer's guild. “So they had a problem 'bout their crops dryin' up, huh?” Missy didn't rightly know how to fix that with her fists, but she figured she could at least help with the wheat pickin'.

She lumbered on over, her boots kickin' up a bit of dust. She saw two folks – Kellum and Chisato – chattin' by the main gate. She figured they seemed to be talkin' 'bout that mystery stuff since they looked like smart folk, but Missy didn't pay it much mind. She came here for work, not for solvin' riddles. As she got closer, she cleared her throat, tryin' to sound as friendly as she could despite her boomin’ voice.

"Howdy there! I'm Missy. I’m here to help with the wheat harvest." She rumbled, her voice kinda deep 'cause of her size. "I ain't much for figurin' out what's makin' them fields all sad, but I reckon I can lend a hand with the pickin'. Nice to meet y'all."

She gave 'em a smile – or at least what she hoped was a friendly one. She didn't rightly know what these two were like, but she was hopin' they wouldn't mind her and her size. The pay wasn't too shabby, and that sack of grain they mentioned sounded mighty nice. Missy was used to doin' things on her own, but maybe workin' with these two wouldn't be too bad. Long as they stuck to wheat pickin' and didn't go on 'bout fox deities too much.

Say as you will, but if theres one or two things that Shaoko knew, it was Agriculture and Foxes. Now he wasn't gonna say he was a far flung expert of either, he was more in line to being reknowned for his magics but to say the least. Though, not really as he was, in essence, still a journeyman in that regard. The firey haired fox fellow walked down the road, knowing it'll lead him to his destination... He had a few things to think about, one, it has been a very, very long time since he had been out and about. Two, alot of things have changed since he had been last sent out to conduct a pilgrimage and spread the word of his goddess's bountiful boons. Though honestly he still thinks it sounds odd and off...

She herself stated he must say it that way, but to him it makes her sound like she had massive....

...Huh...

Speak of the devil, he could see that one from over here.

She was rather big, maybe she was granted a boon from some sort of spirit?

Best he head over, thats where he was pointed anyways in regards to work afterall... he.. thinked...?

Yep time to walk over...

...

.......

Trail is... farther than he thought...

And...

Here he was.

Standing infront of the group of folks stood the four tailed kitsune, fur and hair as red as fire and hands wide addressing them. "Hello! I've heard there are those in need of able hands here? I'm no strong man but my magics will aid and provide succor! And... it..." he paused to scratch his head. "...My magics about growing and healing, I hope to aid against the blight that was mentioned..." he tried for a second to be the holy-man and herald he was suppoused to be but...

"My lady's bountiful boons will aid you if you desire..." he left out the part where she claimed he should stress the tithe... nobody liked mentions of money... They'd be paid for this anyways right?

Gunhild
1

Gunhild was attracted to the area by the knowledge of two things: farming as well as the supposed presence of foxes. Such canids made such small, soft playthings that were entertaining to poke and watch. It was often a shame small critters as such always ran away whenever anyone came near, although Gunhild would grovel at the prospect that they were specifically running away because they did not like Gunhild. Staring at the sight of the fields that were covering the landscape to her disappointment, the formality and organisation of such fields meant saddening consideration for if she were to dig up any holes wherever she felt like for no reason whatsoever. The only reason the farming side of it all peaked her attention was she knew how much food used and came from the agricultural line of work, so perhaps there was incentive to get some free out of it. Food was always better than money, the existence of currency was an unnecessary blight of a thought she never wanted to handle or think about. Only the product.

Taking seat on the bare ground as she stared as far as the visible distance went, Gunhild held absolutely no thought in her mind as she decided to settle and take the strangest method of taking in her surroundings possible by not conceiving any ideas of them at all. Everything was merely unimportant background if one did not care about it, and Gunhild should save that brainpower for tunnel-visioning on whatever it was she wanted. Others get caught up in thinking about the everything, but not Gunhild. Gunhild will know what she wants when she wants. Slowly reminding herself of why she came in the first place, she scratched at her face as she tried to identify anyone in the area.

"Mhm. People are where?... Over there" Gunhild grumbled to herself quietly as she stared around the path, until she noticed a group of people who were gathered together. Either they had heard about the same thing going on that needed hands to support with, or they were just random people who should have a good answer for what Gunhild wants to know. If they knew nothing about it, that would not be very nice since telling Gunhild things is always the nice thing to do. Those who don't want to tell Gunhild might as well be barbarians and bandits who do not like Gunhild. Or maybe, they're just dumb and do not know things.

Gunhild had made her way over to the group of three smaller people, and a very large lady that Gunhild wasn't used to seeing people in similar size. In fact, the big lady was even bigger than Gunhild. Being big sure was fun, but sometimes she did wish for the little things and to be little at times, it would make points in life much easier. Gunhild was fully glad not to be as big as the other tall strong woman, for life at times could be hard enough. It was much easier to be accidentally threatening or to struggle with doors and spaces at times. At least it wasn't her problem, for the some part.

"Hello smaller peoples. And one bigger people" Gunhild introduced as she took seat on the floor, choosing to sit whenever she wasn't moving anywhere especially when she was with smaller people.
"Gunhild's name is Gunhild. Gunhild come from very, very, very far place in order to do the harvest and the lost foxes that are to be here. Gunhild know like nothing about harvest and farming, but Gunhild also know very little about foxes. But Gunhild does like the foxes very much" she spoke as she huddled her tail, arms and legs close to her as she sat eyeing Kellum and Chisato in curiosity before slowly panning her gaze to Shaokao.
"Gunhild does not wish to alarm you, but Gunhild must ask if this is the fox that Gunhild is supposed to be looking for. If it is, Gunhild found it already, it is right here and she looks very pretty" Gunhild asked the the other three as she realised the fox features on the other member. She took a suspicious stare at him for a brief moment longer like something wasn't quite right about him.

"Gunhild make mistake. He is very pretty. Gunhild eyes not so good. Unless, fox is lady? Yes, no? Gunhild is thinking not. Gunhild is sorry, pretty fox man. Gunhild can at least tell what others are... " she spoke in an almost saddened tone that she was struggling with such a simple concept to see and understand, her attention being brought back to the tallest woman in the outside.
"Gunhild. Doesn't know what she is" she muttered as she glanced in the direction of Missy.
"Not even Gunhild is bigger than Gunhild, and super-big lady is bigger than Gunhild... Gunhild does not want to know super-big lady's secret to being so big, do not tell Gunhild. Gunhild cannot keep secrets at all, Gunhild will tell everyone" she answered, in honesty that she was both terrible at keeping secrets and that she didn't want to even think about how to acquire bigger muscle mass or size at all. Gunhild was fine at the size she was, and wasn't looking for someone who wanted to cooperate in being bigger than life.

"But, do not underestimate Gunhild. Gunhild will be bestest friend and is actually very smart and good at things. Believe Gunhild, Gunhild knows some things. Small peoples and big people knows some things, all peoples can know many somethings together" she answered as she tried to convey her best interest of not being a hinderance with a potentially lower intelligence level. She wasn't an idiot by any means, just rather primitive. Her brain did not have the physical limitations to bypass such modern conversational skill, memory or rate of learning. But she was to try or die trying.

Missy was standin' there, mindin' her own business, when two more folks showed up. First was a good lookin' guy named Shao, talkin' 'bout magics and healin' and some lady's bountiful boons. Missy kinda liked his red hair, but most of what he said went right over her head. Magics and all that just weren't her thing. Then, this big woman named Gunhild joined in, sittin' herself down on the ground. Missy nodded at her friendly introduction, likin' the straightforward way she talked.

"Howdy, Red and Gummy. My name's Missy," she rumbled, keepin' her words plain and simple. She didn't rightly get all that magic and fox stuff Shao was talkin' 'bout, but his hair was somethin' to look at, that's for sure. Gunhild, though, made more sense. She liked the way Gunhild talked, sayin' she didn't know much 'bout harvestin' or foxes, but bein' open 'bout it.

Missy was listenin', and she kinda liked Gunhild's way of thinkin'. She had a feelin' Gunhild was smarter than she let on, and that was fine by Missy. The talk 'bout secrets and bein' bigger than life, though, made Missy chuckle a bit. She didn't have no secrets, and she sure as heck didn't know how to get bigger than she was. That was just the way she was made.

As Gunhild went on 'bout knowin' things together, Missy nodded in agreement. "Yup, you got it. We can all help each other out, even if we don't know all them fancy things." She looked from Shao to Gunhild, wonderin' if maybe this was some sort of test 'bout that fox they were talkin' 'bout. Gunhild seemed pretty sure Shao was it, but Missy wasn't too sure. "Hey, Red, you the fox they're lookin' for?" she blurted out, curious and a bit confused.

The sun was still high, and they hadn't started workin' yet. Missy was ready to get to pickin' some wheat, but all this talk 'bout foxes and magics was makin' her head spin a bit. She hoped they'd get to the harvestin' soon.

Kellum was about to speak when a large figure cast a shadow over him; as he turned around, he saw a rather large woman with a lot of muscle. "I'm Kellum and this is my companion Chisato, well we seem to be here for different reasons than Missy. We came here to look into the crops more than we came here to help pick the wheat," Kellum explained as he motioned toward the far end of the fields that were slowly starting to wilt even though it was the prime time to harvest the wheat. "Though someone seems to think that there is nothing really wrong with the crops here," He stated as he glanced toward Chisato.

To which Chisato rolled her eyes, and around this time, more people started to show up at the farm. One of them happened to be a Kitsune, which seemed to gather more attention than usual due to the current situation with the town. To which the crowd started to whisper and talk amongst themselves as the fox spoke. Though much of the helpers quickly went back to their conversations once he had finished speaking of his offer.

Then Gunhild showed up and spoke to the group, Kellum cocked his head to the right a little as the person spoke. Though they seemed to be here to help with the request that had been posted.
"Well I suppose that you are here to help out as well, but we are waiting for the farmer to come out and start this whole thing," Kellum stated as the door to the farmhouse opened up and an old man walked out and down a few steps.

"Hello everyone, I'm the owner of this here farm. Many of you I know from the local village and have been here helping with the harvest for years now. But as you all know, there has been an issue this year and we don't have a whole lot of time before this thing spreads to the whole field," Klanston spoke as he paused for a moment before seeing Shao standing in the crowd.

He cleared his throat for a moment, "Alright well we have a lot of work to do, so I will go ahead and split everyone up into group, alright lets see here, The two big women, the two by the gate and the kitsune, you all can start in the far field, that is where this whole mess started," Klanston stated as he then went around and split the others into groups before finishing up and then starting to head tot he fields himself.

Missy listened as the folks introduced themselves and talked 'bout the crops and mysteries. It was a whole bunch of words Missy didn't rightly get, but she understood they were all here for somethin'. Kellum and Chisato seemed to be lookin' into what was wrong with the wheat, while the Kitsune fella and the big woman, Gunhild, were here to help out, just like her.

When the old farmer came out and started talkin', Missy nodded along. She was used to takin' orders, so when he split 'em into groups, she was ready to get to work. She listened close and heard her name – well, not her name exactly, but he meant her and Gunhild. They were gonna start in the far field where the trouble began. She glanced over at Shao, wonderin' if he really was the fox they were talkin' 'bout. It was a funny thought, but she wasn't pressin' too hard on it. There were bigger things to worry 'bout. If there was somethin' strange goin' on, maybe they'd find a clue in that far field. Missy pulled her hat a bit lower to shield her eyes from the sun and was ready to start walkin'.

"Y'all heard the man," Missy said with a grin. She looked at Kellum, Chicago, Gunhild and the Shao fella. "Guess we're headin' to the far field then. If there's somethin' fishy goin' on, reckon we might find a clue over yonder."

Before they headed to the far field, Missy couldn't help but feel curious. She turned to Klanston, who seemed to know a thing or two 'bout farmin', and asked, "Hey there, Mr. Klanstie, reckon you got an idea 'bout what's goin' on with these crops? Is this somethin' that happens sometimes, or could it be somethin' else messin' with 'em?" She was hopin' that Klanston's experience might give 'em a hint 'bout what they were facin'.

Gunhild had no idea why the group of people she found didn't seem to be equipped or befitting of the situation where they would know the knowledge necessary. Simply enjoying the quaint peace she had where she was sat in the open, she got distracted by trying to look for so-rumoured foxes that may have been conveniently in vision in the area other than the pretty fox man who was present already. Or birds. Birds were nice. Her vision was attracted to the fields she realised she was going to have to help gather everything from. She didn't understand how anyone would bother to do so much work on their own just to potentially give away the product to other people.

Gunhild blinked twice in confusion as she thought she misunderstood Missy's name, emitting a low and quiet trill as she wondered if she missed what she actually went by or if her name was actually just something she usually sometimes described people is as their memorable quality.
"Gunhild must remember to remember these names" Gunhild mumbled to herself even though she had missed the other members of the group introduce
themselves, knowing she would have to figure it out whenever their names were mentioned again rather than just the simple task of asking them. Never-the-less, she will remember to be best friend to her new big friend, two little peoples friends, and the fabulous floof in the group.

Gunhild patiently waited, her big bold eyes staring directly at Mr. Klanston as he had arrived to talk to everyone present and give instructions.
"Guess we're headin' to the far field then. If there's somethin' fishy goin' on, reckon we might find a clue over yonder" she heard Missy say, not really sure about how to go about investigating why crops are getting sick and sad all of a sudden. Perhaps the fabulous floof Shaoko would know something with his super fox powers, since there was perhaps an odd relation between the weird fox sightings and the dying crops. Although, the two little peoples may have faired better knowledge on the situation if his graceful fluffiness wasn't enough of a reason for him to know anything about it. Kellum and Chisato may have been local or more aware of similar instances.

"Mr. Farmer Klanston, how do peoples get the grown things? Farmer Klanston does not expect the little people to dig all of it with their hands. Gunhild can dig all the things, Gunhild is good at it. Where do the digged things go after they are digged? Gunhild usually think to eat the digged things afterwards, but some things cannot be eat. What to do with things we dig and can eat, but do not eat?" Gunhild asked as she gently clutched her head with one hand.
"Gunhild explanation is bad for Gunhild's health. Gunhild should not ask questions. Gunhild uses her head to hit problems, not solve them through calculated and meticulous planning for a sensible and positive outcome... " she mumbled in disappointment, looking to the group she was to be tied with for the moment.
"Gunhild hopes smarter peoples are good at the things that we will have to do. Gunhild and Miss will be good at the big stuff while small peoples will be good at the brain stuff. Floof can do anything Floof put his big brain to, Floof is already doing the everything at his best".

"But, also, Gunhild does not know what a plant doctor is. Do plants just not stop getting sick of the same thing after so often? Gunhild thought everything did that. These must be some dumb plants, but it is ok. Gunhild knows these special plants make food, and that means their plant lives matter to Gunhild, and very much everyone else because that is entirely what Gunhild believes" she spoke to herself aloud, having way too many questions about everything and struggles to ask questions or any way to conceive an answer. Not even the bestest of the farmer peoples knew what it was, so where was the plant doctor when one was needed?

For a good solid thirty seconds Shao stood there, trying to piece together what Gunhild started to say, he however, couldn't get over just how he was now being around two literal walls of woman. What he being called a woman? Floof? Now a man. it was easy to see he was a man since he was wearing this HORRIBLY revealing manner of dress his goddess demands he wear... But... perhaps others had the issue himself... This... large.. lizard woman who was self proclaimed as Gunhild was....

Big...

So was the red haired woman...

His goddess would hate them out of jealousy alone...

The grand rolling plains of his Goddess has, a mountain doth not make...

...

He should stop thinking about such things and focus, others had their eyes on him now! he had to focus!

"Aye! I shall do my best to try and solve this issue forthwith!" he called out, looking to be unsure about who exactly he was put together with, but he hoped they all had good... Manners? he hoped they meant well anyways. Goddess help him if any of these people roughhouse him, he was but a simple priest... "Alrighty everyone! to the far field we go! be sure to watch out for little fox friends and stay together, if you become lost look for our... Wonderfully tall and beautiful friends!

With them we can never be lost right! Right!" he tried to stay chipper and cheery, letting his four tails furl up behind him, before they converged back down into one swaying bundle before he set off towards the area the farmer pointed.

"Come along come along!" and so he marched, having a slight kip in his step. "Hairs of red, blue and black, on this day we have the farmer's back. On we go, never delay, we've only so much left of the day!"

Klanston looked at Missy as he plucked a long thing weed off the ground and put it in his mouth. "Well now here little Missy, if you were to ask most of the village folk, they would say I was cursed by the local diety. If you ask me well I would say some kind of disease maybe. I don't know honestly, I'm not from the city nor do I have the education to say what it is for certain," Klanston explained with a simple shrug of his shoulders as he looked around to see if anyone else had any other questions he could answer. Which was the point when Gunhild spoke up and started to ask a series of questions.

"Well you could take a sword or a scythe and cut down by the bottom of the wheat, that is how everyone else does it. I wouldn't recommend hitting the wheat with your head that won't do anyone much good," He responded as he was trying to process what everything was just said. The look in his eyes pleading those that were going to go with her to keep her from doing anything that would damage the harveset more than what was already done. This was then around the time when Shao spoke up about tails and fox friends to which both Kellum and Chisato both looked at each other with confused looks.

"Well I suppose there are stranger things, lets try not to get lost in the fields or catch whatever the plants have," Kellum stated as the group started to walk into the fields of wheat. The group would notice it was arguably cooler in the fields compared to that up at the farm. There didn't seem to be a reason at least not one that was evident at the moment. As the group got further and further in the voices from the other groups slowly drifted away and the sound of wheat being cut could be heard. As they had been assigned the farthest field, they would have to work their way out and then back in. As to why only a single group had been sent this was unknown at least for the moment.

As they arrived at the edge of the good wheat, the group could tell the plants had wilted, though the ones on the other side of the dead line looked fine. Had it been drought there wouldn't have been a clean line like this. Which gave the impression that there was something more to this than meets the eye. Kellum paused as he scratched the back of his head and looked around, "This doesn't make any sense, there is something else going on here," he stated as he looked back at the group.

Shao would notice the various fox tracks that littered the dead crop area, though they didn't seem to be in a pattern. It simply looked like there had been a whole group of foxes that had come through here earlier. With that being said, he could smell all the individual scents that the foxes left in the area and they all seemed to be coming from the treeline at the end of the field.

Missy watched as Klanston talked 'bout the whole situation. Despite all the talk from the townsfolk, it seemed like he must've had his own ideas 'bout what was causin' the trouble with the crops. She kinda nodded to herself - it made sense that he'd have his own thoughts, bein' the one who knew the land best. She noticed Gunhild askin' questions, but it was all gettin' a bit tangled in her head. She was ready to get to work, not try to untangle mysteries.

As they headed to the field, Klanston continued to talk 'bout swords, scythes, and not usin' heads, and Missy gave a little chuckle. She weren't much for fancy tools or ideas. She was here to pluck wheat, plain and simple. Once they got to the field, Kellum was scratchin' his head, sayin' things didn't make sense. Missy looked 'round, tryin' to figure out what he meant. She saw the wilted plants and the good ones, but it didn't click in her head what was off.

"Yup, don't make much sense to me neither," she muttered to herself, ready to start doin' what she knew best – pluckin' stuff from the ground. She got down on all fours, big ol' hands ready to get to work. She heard Kellum and Chisato talkin', but she didn't really catch their names. So, she raised her head a bit and asked, "Hey, by the way, what's your names? Figured we're here workin' together, might as well know each other's names."

With that outta the way, she lowered her head again and started to use her know-how to figure out which wheat needed pickin'. She might not understand all the mysteries goin' on, but she knew how to pick wheat, and that's what she was gonna do. Relyin' on her [Survival F] know-how, Missy hoped to at least look out for the ones that were still fresh or good enough for bread malin' and stuff.

Character Theme

Gunhild grumbled softly and fumbled with her tongue in her mouth as she chewed on nothing but air and her own tongue in meaningless thought as she listened to Shao's words. Gunhild didn't understand at all what he was implying to by how they could never get lost, since the world was a very, VERY big place and Gunhild could get lost in it easily. Considering that Shao was using them as a basis for where to go to, Gunhild sat dumbfounded.
'What if Gunhild get lost? Then going to Gunhild will make both Gunhild AND floof and smalls lost. Unless Missy is not lost and we can see Missy... but what if Missy lost and look to Gunhild. And then, Gunhild lost. Then everyone Gunhild.... - No, everyone lost, not Gunhild. Only Gunhild is Gunhild. Gunhild is the best Gunhild to ever Gunhild' Gunhild spoke to herself in her own mind in order to save those around her the suffering of having to try to work out whatever it was she was voicing. Sometimes, Gunhild even confused herself. Everyone needed a break from Gunhild every few seconds, Gunhild was too much of a Gunhild of the times for mere non-Gunhilds to handle. At least she won at being Gunhild. Apparently, being Gunhild also meant that she didn't even consider how she was going to get lost in fields and farmlands in which she was taller than the crop that grew in it. Insignificant information does not matter to Gunhild and does not enter Gunhild's not-at-all delicate and partly thoughtless head.

Gunhild followed along with the other people she would be working with, her eyes did not move off Shao's tails, ears and himself the entire time they had went to the further fields. Seeing as they had reached their place-to-be as the two smalls Chisato and Kellum had stopped, Gunhild somewhat listened to the words of what they had to say since they could likely make much better of understanding the situation than her. She recalled that Farmer Klanston gave her the incredibly intelligent advice of using her head wouldn't do much good, so seeing as Missy had already went to using her bare hands to collect harvest then it would make sense she do the same while the smallers of the group did all the hard thinking.

The big lizard had turned her back to the group for a moment as she took to collecting wheat that faced away from them, since it would also make it less audible when she was likely to start talking to herself aloud when doing something else at the time. When focused on something else, it was often likely that she would just default to talking to herself rather than keeping in her thoughts. Missy was also very big and should also be good at it like Gunhild, plus Gunhild did not want to get in the way of others.
"Gunhild will get the wheats also. Gunhild not know how to help with finding fox friends or sickly wheats, but Gunhild can get the wheats good. Gunhild will leave hard part to small big-brains and Floofles. Gunhild will help when Gunhild is asked to help" she blankly spoke, wanting to offer her support wherever possible as she went onto doing her own thing. Digging her claws through dirt to loosen up dirt as she continued on with taking handfuls and using her own claws like scythes to harvest what she grabbed at, she sat peacefully in her own thoughts as she hoped that the others would be able to figure something out about the sick crops or where the fox friends were.

"Gunhild hopes whatever sicknesses the wheats have that Gunhild cannot catch... Gunhild will get all of the good wheats to help Missy and the smalls who have small hands but big brains so they can do professional plant diagnosis. Gunhild... cannot do... that thing" Gunhild mumbled to herself quietly as she got to helping how she could. Such investigations were not a grand skill of hers, but hopefully she could prove useful to their investigation if there was anything they could help with. Otherwise, her support may just involve picking wheats and hoping she would get to see some foxes. She truly did want to help and be a good bestest friend who could help and do things, but overcoming ones' own limited capabilities and skillset was a difficult task at that. Gunhild knew it was better she just waited to become useful rather than bothering or butting in if anyone would end up having a lead on the issue.
"Gunhild must pick all of the wheats so Fabulous Floof does not have to dirty his hands or floof... that would be most bad outcome for all... " Gunhild grumbled quietly, thinking of the important things... supposedly.

"Foxes don't tend to destroy crops..." the foxtailed fellow spoke up, looking over the odd deadened area. "Truely, they help get rid of pests that might be eating them. A herd of rabbits may sound cute but are very bad for a burgeoning field of veggies. Foxes help by eating these animals. And are too scared to mess with the farmers I dare say." The vulpine man took a few steps over to the deadened area and knelt down to look at the soil, wondering exactly what happened over here...

(Skill used, Agriculture F)

"Though we may be able to get the crops up for harvest, its worthwhile to nip the problem in the bud. the fox trails seem to be heading into the woods... if their the cause of this, then its very likely they aren't normal foxes...

If they aren't, they likely are chasing the thing thats causing the issues!

Foxes are predators you know! As cute as they may be they need to be swift and vicious hunters!" says the man who was very much like one in accouterments. As Gunhild would put it, floofy.

Kellum crouched down to get a better look at the plants, he wasn't one to know a lot about crops. He knew if they were a golden color they had to be okay. But the fact there was wilting of this magnitude that was concerning to say the least. As he heard Missy's question he turned back to look at her, "Are you okay? Your memory seems a little off but I'm Kellum and this is Chisato once again." Standing up he saw Gunhild start to collect the wheat that was around them.

As Gunhild and Missy collected the wheat, they noticed that the wheat looked normal, but there was an unnatural weight to the plant. At first, it wouldn't really seem to be an issue but the more wheat that was picked up one could feel the weight of it all. When the collection bags were about half full the bag ripped spilling the contents out onto the ground. If anyone looked they would notice the wheat that spilled on the ground turned rotten. Which caused Kellum to cock an eyebrow. "Well, I think it's safe to say this isn't a natural event, something is causing this," Chisato replied as she examined the wheat further for a moment.

As Shao spoke about the foxes the tracks started to become evident to everyone and as the priest said his prayer the parter would feel stronger and healthier than they had a moment ago. "Well it looks like there is only one real course of action and that is to investigate the woods. Hopefully, we can find whatever is doing this before the whole crop gets ruined," Kellum stated as he looked around at the group new crops started to wilt. The path into the forest was fairly evident as it seemed like an army of foxes had marched out of the forest and then spread out amongst the field.

As the group entered the forest, the plants were lush and full of life, unlike parts of the field. Birds flew overhead as the shade of the trees cooled the party off. There was a sense of peace over the whole forest that lingered. There didn't feel like there was a single threat here if there was a predator here they were doing a very good job at hiding it.

Standing [F Grade Character] Titles [Beast, Large] Point Booster [Attentive Student F]
Missy found herself in the middle of all this talkin' and investigatin'. First, she heard Shao talkin' 'bout foxes not usually messin' with crops. That sounded right to her. Foxes were more into catchin' pests than causin' trouble with the fields. Then, he started talkin' 'bout blessin' and whatnot, and Missy just kinda nodded along. She didn't rightly understand all that magic stuff, but after he talked and waved his hands around all fancy-like, she felt stronger, and that felt real nice.

As they got to pickin' the wheat, Kellum asked her if she was okay, sayin' her memory seemed off. Missy scratched her head and felt a bit embarrassed. "Oh, I'm sorry. My head's just a bit fuzzy sometimes. Nice to meet ya again, Kareem, and you too, Cheesetoast," she replied, givin' 'em a sheepish smile. She didn't like forgettin' folks' names, but it happened from time to time.

Then, they started noticin' that the wheat was actin' strange. It was heavy, and when their bags ripped, it turned all rotten. That didn't seem natural at all. Chisato said somethin' was causin' this, and Missy agreed. "I'm not likin' the look of this situation one bit."

As they headed into the forest, Shao talked more 'bout the foxes, and Missy just nodded along. She didn't know much 'bout foxes, but she figured he knew what he was talkin' 'bout. And she liked callin' him Red, so that's what she was gonna do.

The forest was cool and peaceful, a real contrast to the wilted fields. Missy felt a sense of calm wash over her, like there weren't any threats around. She liked that feelin', made her feel a bit more at ease in this strange situation.

Though it was calm 'round these woods, Missy knew she couldn't dawdle none. She was still workin', and they had to get to investigatin'. She ain't no fancy detective, so she stuck with what she knew best – the simple way.

"Y'all better plug your ears," she warned, takin' in a big breath. She got herself ready and hollered, "Hey there, foxes?! Y'all come on out now. We gotta chat 'bout them wiltin' wheat!"

Gunhild collected the wheat into her hold as she didn't pay any mind to the suspicious weight of the wheat, choosing that it didn't entirely matter and that possibly wheat was just heavier than it looks. She was placing what she gathered into a bag so that it would be kept nice and safe there which meant she was noticing fully when the bag had broken, not speaking a word on the matter as her gaze looked to the contents that had fallen out and spoiled.

"Gunhild did not do that. Gunhild is clean. Gunhild cleaned her... " Gunhild slowed as she was about to say 'hands', albeit hesitant as she slowly checked on her hands as if she didn't even trust herself. After a moment of blank hesitation, she wordlessly and roughly dragged the palm-side of her hands against the rougher scales of her tail.
"Gunhild is- clean enough. Gunhild didn't do that" she mumbled as her eyes looked back at her tail, which was probably dirtier than her hands were before she wiped them. She didn't ever take mind to sitting on the ground, so considering her hygiene was never a thing that came up. Gunhild didn't know what plant germs looked like, or why they were so small that Gunhild couldn't see them at all, but she hoped that she was not infected with anything.
"Gunhild will... not touch anything in case it was Gunhild. But Gunhild didn't do it... " she mumbled quietly, staring to Kellum as he made the suggestion to investigate the forest. At least his idea on where to go didn't imply that it may have been Gunhild's fault. Gunhild will make sure to assert that it was indeed not Gunhild's fault when they prove that it was not.

Noticing Shao say something as he made Gunhild feel all funny with his funny magical words, the big lizard felt all bigger and better and she didn't actually have to be bigger to do so. Smiling a toothy grin as she gave an investigative stare to Shao now that he had shown his true colours of being a fantastical magical floof, she tilted her head in curiosity.
"Magic Floof can do magic too, and be a pretty floof? Fantasticle Floofles can do everything more than Gunhild thought. Gunhild think Floof may be a very, very good floof if he can do that? Floofles is very special floof, Gunhild is very impress" Gunhild spoke blankly and allowed in response to his blessing alone, the way she took seat in place and tried to lower her stature was in a method that looked very much like she was bowing to him.

Complacently following along with the plan as she followed the group into the forest, Gunhild was just quietly hoping she would get to be helpful or see some foxes. Or perhaps, be graced with the time to admire the Magic Floof, but it didn't matter since she was doing it the entire time that she wasn't focused on something else anyway. Gunhild only took brief glances elsewhere to look for any other foxes that were in the area or for anything of note. Things were quaint until Missy raised her voice to try and shortcut into finding what they were looking for.

"Big Missy, too loud. Gunhild thinks fox friends would be scared of you. Already very big, but be loud is also scary to them, no? We have Fantastic Floofles and two smallers who are friendlier size. Fantastic Floofles may be related. Long-lost cousins and ancestors. Who know? Gunhild not. What if fox friends become not-friends and attack us? That would be bad. And sad. Gunhild will not hurt a fox" Gunhild spoke to the other big woman in the group other her choice of action. Such planning wasn't in her skill repetoire, but Gunhild felt like being loud was a bad idea. That, and she didn't want Missy to shout next to the smallers and Floof. It could hurt their ears or startle them. Good friends do not startle other friends. That, and she didn't want to chance on anything that would dare tamper or dirty Floofles' tails. That, and Gunhild did NOT want to 'wilt like wheat' as Missy put it.
"Smallers and Floof have idea? Gunhild is not detective. Gunhild is just good at Gunhilding into things until they have been Gunhilded through. But if the foxes are running about then there is no ground or wall or anything Gunhild must go through to help... " she asked as she looked to if anyone else had a better idea. Her disappointed tone trailed off by the audible sound that she was upset she couldn't do anything to aid the investigation much, just deciding to keep her eyes out for anything.

Gunhild began a very, very long dialogue, Shao, however, stood and nodded polietly throughout all of it. He, had no clue what she was saying. She was saying floof alot, but really he could only consider the fact he was, in fact, said magical floof. Her curiosity was cute, in a sense...

She was innocent, enough anyways, he would give the big woman a pat on the arm and a nod.

"You are quite right." He said without truely knowing what in hell she said.

Now, he turned to Chisato and Kellum.

"Shall we check the woods? I imagine out strong friends are eager to see if theres anything amiss...

Plus, if theres any monsters about, they would be in there." He motioned towards where Missy was hollering out into the woods.

"Now, I need to quickly look at the planst to see if I can see anything..."

Shao would go to the blighted patch and try to see if there was anything amiss within the soil, and if any deadened plants could tell whats happening.

The group continued to make their way through the woods with the shade now completely covering them, Chisato and Kellum both looked at one another as they were told they might want to cover their ears. Kellum simply shrugged his shoulders right before Missy started to shout in the wood. Birds flew from the trees as the sound of crows sounded as they flew off. The shouting was answered with nothing much else besides the sound of crows and the silence of the forest. The place had gone quiet though that might have been from the shouting.

"I don't think shouting for the foxes is going to do much in this situation," Chisato stated as she took a few steps forward and started to examine the area around them. The fox tracks started to become more evident. The forest felt odd somehow, the group would notice there was a feeling of tranquility in the silence. There was animals before and now that they had been scared away it was silent. As Gunhild spoke Kellum met Chisato's gaze for a moment and shrugged his shoulders. "I think the tracks are leading further into the forest," Chisato pointed out as she pointed deeper into the woods.

As Shao went to examine the plants he noticed there was seemingly nothing wrong with them. There didn't seem to be a single issue with the plants in fact they looked healthier than you would imagine to find. After a few moments Shao would feel something calling his attention to an old path that barely looked like anyone had used it in a century. The path was overgrown and hidden to the eye. No one would have noticed it had there not been a pulling sensation. further down the path a stone path could be seen further down that way.

dunhild.jpg
Gunhild simply saw that she didn't get much of an answer or response to things she said. It was not a surprising thing, some people were just too incapable of understanding the grand mannerisms of Gunhildese. Kellum and Chisato's look to eachother told exactly what she would think, and that they were just going to bypass what she said until they believed her word credible or actually understandable. At the least, Magical Floof gave her nods and responded acknowledgement as clearly such a graceful and pretty intellectual would understand every word Gunhild had said. She hummed quiet grumbles in positive acknowledgement that atleast he had understood her. Missy did understand Gunhild too, but she wasn't a Magical Floof. Gunhild is incredibly biased.

Hearing Chisato point out the direction of the tracks, Gunhild stayed silent in thought and acknowledgement for the moment as there wasn't anything to argue about the obvious.
"Gunhild will trust the two smallers' track-following smarts. Gunhild help if bad thing appear" she blankly stated, not letting up on continued implication that she wanted to be useful. If others put in good word for Gunhild, Gunhild might be able to get extra food reward for good deed. Another thing to think about was that she was unsure if she might end up being perceived as a threat since the two Smallers and Mr. Princess Floofington were much more approachable at a first glance to any animal or stranger rather than the two bigger women in the group. She kept saying of anything completely quiet as she just stayed present and considered if there was anything she could do to better her chances to whatever they were going to find before they arrived, in which mostly just led her to an excuse she was looking for before she had first saw it.

Turning her head back to the big bundle of fluff that was Shao's tails while he was busy with his attention drawn to something else, she gently scratched at her face if it was inconsiderate or not to do so without asking but decided there was no ill-intent behind it and that everyone else would likely just do it anyway also. Plus, she had a very smart reason. If the best of what they knew they may have come across were to be foxes or something like them, then Shao being fox-like would make him the most relatable and approachable of the group to them. That, and other little creatures like that have good senses and can smell the smellable things. If Gunhild touch Shao's tails for scientific reason and investigation for no other reasons at all, then perhaps Gunhild put a little bit of Gunhild's own scent on his tails that fox-friends in the woods might notice and might trust Gunhild from doing so. Gunhild also wanted to be the first to touch before anyone else asked.

Gunhild was not a strategist or zoologist by any means, but she was Gunhild. Gently reaching for the Fantastic Mr. Floof's floofy tails, she tried to pat and touch them as softly as she could so it wouldn't hurt and he hopefully wouldn't notice. This was probably the best she could do without it being weird, because it definitely wasn't weird. That, and if Gunhild was trying to work on making herself approachable for anything they had come across then she was very clearly being productive by touching the floof. She just peacefully sat behind Shao curiously touching and experiencing his fluffiness while she was in waiting from not being able to provide anything else to the situation, staring at said tails with big blue eyes that just visibly read how little thought was going on in her mind at the time.

Actions:
1. Appraisal (F) on Shao's tails. For Gunhild reasons and to touch and also put her scent on them.
No, it's not weird.

"Oh everyone! There appears to be a trail!" Shao spoke as he suddenly stepped forwards, his tails quickly flowing away from the incoming hand of Gunhild, but staying just lightly out of reach.

Before...

All four collapsed back around her arm, the fluffy and luxuriously soft tails toyed along her arm, teasing with soft trailing movements and the light tingle of magic along the length. The man they were attatched to didn't seem too bothered, even giving a knowing smirk back towards Gunhild.

"Do ask before you touch next time my dear lovely Gunny, it wouldn't do to get the dirty." He gave the towering woman a foxy smile before he would begin to turn away, towards the road.

Not before a brush-like tail tip danced on the side of her neck, then flew away on the wind.

"A trail to follow, perhaps something menacing lurks that way. Come along come aling, lets see what it has in store."

Missy couldn't help but chuckle at herself when she realized she'd been shoutin' like that, even though Gunhild and Chisato had commented on it. "Well, it was worth a try," she muttered to herself, knowin' she was a bit simple in her thinkin'. She was used to just callin' out when she needed somethin', and she figured maybe foxes were like that too.

She watched as Gunhild went to touch Shao's tails, and it made her smile. Gunhild was curious and innocent in her own way. She understood Gunhild's need to be helpful, even if it was a bit unconventional. "You go ahead, Gunhild," she said with a nod, admiring her big friend's determination.

When Chisato and Kellum started discussin' the plan, Missy just listened. She knew she wasn't the brains of the group, so she trusted their judgment. "Sounds like we're headin' deeper into the woods," she said, agreein' with their decision.

As Shao examined the plants, Missy watched, not understandin' what he was lookin' for but trustin' his expertise. When he found that hidden path, she raised an eyebrow. "Well, what do you know? Looks like we got ourselves a trail to follow," she said, feelin' a sense of excitement. She was ready to face whatever lay ahead in those woods, even if she didn't quite understand it all.

As the whole encounter with the tails was going on Chisato looked at Kellum with a strange look on her face. To which Kellum simply shrugged his shoulders, there was much to do and at the moment it didn't seem to be interfering with getting to the bottom of the whole thing. As the group spoke the silence remained no sounds or animal calls could be heard. As Shao led the group down the path it seemed like it was going on for much longer than it seemed.

Eventually, a slate-tiled room slowly came into view over the trees. The building was only two stories in height, and as the group got closer they were met with a Tori gate though its wood was starting to rot from the weather. Just past the gate, there was a large stone courtyard with a dias in the center that was indented in the ground. Grass and other weeds were popping up by the stones. The temple's main building resembled that of a Shinto shrine, Shao would feel a sense of peace here while not familiar the priest could feel the divine presence that resided here.

While that presence hadn't appeared yet, there was something here and the group could feel the power that permitted the air. It was almost intoxicating as if one single success could drive one forward. Shao would be able to tell that the diety that resided here was a prosperity diety. As Kellum and Chisato walked through the gate, Chisato shivered as the sense came over her. "Something resides here but to what end I have no idea, we should at least be on guard," she suggested stopping just past the Tori gate.

Missy found the whole forest bein' so quiet mighty strange. Forests were s'posed to be filled with critters and sounds, but here it was silent as the grave. She followed Shao, trustin' his lead, and her eyes widened when they stumbled upon them fancy tori gates and that there shrine. It was like nothin' she'd ever seen before, and it gave her a peculiar feelin'.

The air around her made her feel like she needed to be on her best behavior, so she just stayed quiet and observant. When Chisato spoke up, Missy nodded in agreement. She couldn't put her finger on it, but there was somethin' eerie 'bout this place, and it was best to be cautious.

Turnin' her gaze to them gates and that shrine, she noticed a similarity in the vibe with Shao, like they were somehow connected. She turned to the fox priest, figurin' he might know somethin'. "Hey there, Red. I mean, Mr. Red," she said, keepin' her words polite. "Do any of this make sense to ya?" She figured he might have some answers 'bout this strange place they'd found themselves in.

As Kellum and Chisato exchanged strange looks, Missy just tilted her head, wonderin' what was goin' on between 'em. But there were more important things at hand. As they approached the shrine, the atmosphere grew more intense, and Missy couldn't help but feel the power that lingered in the air. She felt like she could do anything, like the whole world was at her fingertips.

Chisato's shiver caught her attention, and Missy nodded, agreein' that they oughta be on guard. "Somethin's definitely goin' on here," she muttered to herself, preparin' herself for whatever lay ahead. There was somethin' goin' on in this place, somethin' powerful, and they needed to be careful.

Gunhild was silently struck as she made an ever-curious low grunt at the feeling of Shao's tails, urged to push her hand forward to touch them but not wanting to do anything of the sort that could bring them harm. Extremely distracted and entranced for the short moment it lasted, she grumbled quietly in positive vibes as she leaned into the neck teasing of the tip of his tail to the point where she almost fell forward on her face when it departed from her. She was too distracted to hear the supportive words of Missy in her own little sidequest, nor did not care what Kellum and Chisato would think of it.

When Shao had pointed out another path that seemed an agreeable one to follow by everyone else, Gunhild chose not to even verbally commune her agreement as she did not need to question or think where such an alluring magic floof believed they should go whether or not anyone agreed including whether or not Gunhild agreed. Clearly, Floofles the First was correct. Of course he was the First, he was the first and best of all the floofs.
"Gunhild is asking right now if Gunhild can touch the floofies again. Gunhild will ask again in not long no matter Magic Red Floof's answer".

Following along, her distraction from the tails that resided within the group was only interrupted when they came into view of the building. She didn't know much of anything about kitsunes or their culture, but if she did then she would probably claim how they already had the best floofy divinity with them already so there was naught to fear. The other questionable thought was that it was pretty big and near civilised farmland, which nothing at all of it made sense even to Gunhild.

"Gunhild has to ask if no farmer or peoples that have come by have seen this? Gunhild think it hard to put together how long this been here, but what whichever silly-billy juju happen not happen until now. Maybe bad new neighbours, or Stranger-Friend-Not-Friend-Yet-To-Meet doesn't know they are doing the bad sickies to the other things... " Gunhild asked to anyone that might know, but mainly to Kellum and Chisato since they made the first call that the strange presence in the air was one of questionable danger.

"Gunhild maybe think that someone or something very sick with Super-sickies, and maybe if they will not hurt us at sight then Floofington can maybe help make them all betters! Although Gunhild not want them to hurt, or maybe not want Floof to become bad like that. Gunhild not let any new-friends get Super-sickies or hurted" Gunhild answered like she was slowly getting annoyed at the thought bad could come to others let alone her, before widening her eyes and going back to normal expression as she started mumbling to herself.

"Danger, bads? Gunhild can help more maybe, Gunhild can do goodhaps. If bads is floofy, then Gunhild may be at an impass... " Gunhild debated to herself as she considered potential outcomes.
"Nah, Gunhild silly. Gunhild have favourite floof and small friends and big friend to help. Gunhild want all friend and the bestest floof. Yees. Gunhild want food, Gunhild do good and gets it... " Gunhild grumbled to herself in devious thought as she smiled to herself before looking at Shao.
"Gunhild is asking to touch your tails again" she spoke before hesitating on her next thing said.
"Gunhild forgot that Gunhild was supposed to leave the thinkies and talking alone... Gunhild speak mind too often" Gunhild answered as she gently scratched her cheek in pondering, quiet talk to herself.

"Gunhild's mind cannot fit all of the Gunhild into it. Very strange".

"Hmmm...." Shao was looking around, sort of maybe listening to the others as he gazed upon the shrine... It... Kinda.... Really in a way.....

"It somewhat looks like home, maybe. With less of my dearest patron grumbling about the lack of consistency in mortal religious dealings." The fox man spoke as he laid a hand on the tori's wooden pillars. "In truth I dare say this place is looking better. At least there isn't a massive bramble covering everything... Goodness seeing it makes me want to get a broom and clean..." he softly kicked aside a leaf off the path, looking abit like he was annoyed at the leaf for being so haphazardly laid.

"Hmm... Maybe... Maybe the sickness is coming from this dilapitated shrine? My Goddess was pretty unhappy about being left to the wayside...

Even if she couldn't exactly do anything about it..." he mumbled the last part. "Its... Repairable... Perhaps if I did some pokeing around something may come up? I could try to purify the place... But I'm not too powerful...

Yet..."
