Vaskran Hierarchy

flag_of_the_duzhonev_imperium_by_rvbomally-d9p3n1k.png

The Vaskran Hierarchy is an empire originating from their home planet of Karachek near the galactic centre. It is also the first alien empire ever encountered by the UEG in 2843, and inadvertently led to war between the two factions. While the war has ended, relations are still somewhat strained. The empire itself has a hierarchical form of government, with the highest-ranking Hierarchs being on the top of society, and normal citizens being at the bottom. The faction is currently ruled by Primarch Rnas Krant.

Vaskrans are a race of warm-blooded reptilian bipedals, with males standing at an average of six and a half feet, females six feet. They have digitigrade legs, allowing them to be much more agile and stronger than species with plantigrade feet such as humans. Their hardened scales form a natural protective covering that can protect them from bladed attacks, although they are still useless when faced with gunfire. The colour of their scales vary from ethnicity, and can range from fiery red, to bright green, to charcoal black. Vaskrans have an elongated snout with a pair of nostils with a hightened sense of smell in front, and three eyes on each side of their head. This allows them to have a very good perception, and they have evolved night vision. Their hands have four digits with a sharp claw on each end, and three long toes, also with sharp claws. Due to their carnivorous diet, vaskrans have two rows of razor-sharp teeth used to tear through meat, and have tiny, backward-facing barbs (papillae) on their long tongues, which makes it easier to lick meat from bones.

The vaskrans have evolved these traits from millions of years of evolution on their arid and dry home planet. Vaskrans are oviparous, meaning they lay eggs, normally in pairs. Once hatched, Vaskrans mature very quickly, reaching what would be the human adult age in around twelve years. They also have longer lifespans than humans, able to live for around two hundred years.

Technology and military wise, they are roughly on par with the UEG, having large and even blockier ships than the UEG. One of the key difference with the UEG is that the Vaskran Military opts for quantity and firepower over quality and protection. This means that vaskran craft tend to be more manoeuvrable and agile than lumbering UEG ones, and are packed to the brim with energy weapons. However, these vehicles tend to be much weaker, going down in single shots from AA gauss guns, where UEG aircraft would go down in two or three. Vaskran craft are also a lot easier and cheaper to produce, allowing them to field massive numbers of weak and cheap units to overwhelm enemies.

The Vaskrans travel via hyperspace, which is where the craft enters a seperate dimension through space, where it can accelerate to faster-than-light speeds.

Enigma-class stealth vessel

1024x576.jpeg

The Enigma-class stealth vessel is an advanced reconnaissance vessel operated by the Strategic Division of Intelligence (SDI). It has advanced stealth systems that allow it to hide from not only visual detection, but from sensor sweeps as well. Even without its cloak, it is still able to seamlessly blend in with the surrounding space with its low-visibility refractive coating. Heat sinks hide heat produced from engine emissions which allow the ship to appear the same temperature as surrounding space. Since no known ship is able to completely prevent the release of emissions, its systems distort sensors and confuse them into thinking the ship is a wreckage, space debris, or asteroid.

As far as weapons go, since the Enigma-class is not meant for direct engagements, it possesses very little weapon systems. It is mounted two TRIDENT point defence turrets, one missile pod containing fifteen missiles, and a single EMP mine. Its true strength, however, lies in its electronic warfare capability. It has offensive systems that allow it to jam sensors and scramble signals, along with blocking communication. These offensive measures can disable attacking ships, allowing an Enigma-class to escape.

Type of Government:
Authoritarian Socialist Republic

Leaders:
Premier Zayrahka Gallyar

Faction Homeworld:
Yuzhangya III, Yuzhangya System, Galactic Southeast
Number of Controlled Planets:
Approximately 600 planets under Yuzhang control

Notable Planets:
Yuzhangya III - The heart of the Yuzhang, where a majority of the political and economic power is exerted. The planet's major cities are built in a simple and effective manner. Concrete and Yuzhang-Duranium are used to build vast "megaplexes" (large cities)

Mayarha - A large colony built for academic and the advancement of the Yuzhang-Karhkan government. There are many farms and military installations on this planet.

Arkhayar Sector - A large mining and industrial base used for civilian and military purpose. The sector has the largest mine, shipyard and factory world in the Yuzhang-Barkhan

History:
The defeat of the Heydrian secessionists was the beginning of the primitive Yuzhang race. When the traitors of Heydros escaped the Throne Worlds, they headed for the galactic southeast. Where upon they found the planet of Yuzhangya III. The traitor Heydrians built an outpost and began to uplift the Yuzhang. The Heydrians called the Yuzhang "The Pures" (Yuzhang, in Heydric) because of the Yuzhang's ignorance of the wider galaxy. When the traitor Heydrians had successfully brought the Yuzhang's technological level to be equal to that of a fledgling star empire, the Heydrians left. As a result the Yuzhang took several tenets from the rebel Heydrians.

1. All for one and one for all
2. No gods, no masters.
3. The State Provides

Soon, the Yuzhang discovered the psionic energy that resided in them innately. The Heydrians had no idea of such power before they left. When the Yuzhang State was created, there was a large dissociation between state and the people. Soon, the State became powerful and decadent. The Yuzhang people had no political agency. The Yuzhang People's Republic was formed and a Sovet was created similar to the Heydrian Empire's Sovet. But the Yuzhang grew to learn of the galactic history of the Heydrians. Slavers, warmongers, and tyrants. They had no clue that they Heydrians that landed on Yuzhangya III were rebels.

The People's Republic years later became a spacefaring nation that colonized rapidly. However, they're living in habitat domes instead of terraforming. The first few colonies constructed were organized into Sectors by the People's Republic. Now, they wait their turn on the galactic stage.

Primary Language(s):
Yuzhangii, Heydric.

Currency:
Yuyachi

Composite Species:
Yuzhang
Psionic, yet frail. The Yuzhang are bipedal humanoids with an omnivore diet. They've developed technology to enhance their two psionic powers. The innate powers of the Yuzhang are mind probing against lesser beings (case-by-case basis OOC for what is a lesser being) and mind-linking (sharing memories)

Population:
0.1 Trillion

Military:
The Yuzhang possess a small military, made of up two branches: the Free Yuzhang Army and the Free Yuzhang Navy.
The Free Yuzhang Army has the Peoples Liberation Force and the Peoples Militia.

Mode of FTL:
Hyperlink System

Strengths [3+]:
People's Psychics -
The Yuzhang are able to harness the power of psychics.
Yuzhang-Duranium - A hyper-light metal that is used as a material to dispense energetic blasts. Also good for constructing buildings.
Mind-Link - Two close Yuzhang can link their minds together to share information. However, should one die in mind-link, the other one dies.

Weaknesses [3+]:
Limited Psychics -
Innately, the Yuzhang are unable to cast many psychic powers. They are limited to Mind-Linking and Probing
Fragile Frame - The Yuzhang have weak bodies. Thus, they die easily.
Stagnated - The Yuzhang are technologically behind many Empires in the galaxy.

ACAR-52

830px-AR-548_Scimitar_image.gif

The Advanced Coil-operated Assault Rifle 2852, or the ACAR-52, is an advanced human assault rifle that entered service in the year 2852, replacing the ACAR-38 assault rifle used before and during the Vaskran War. It is, by all intents and purposes, an upgraded ACAR-38. The aforementioned war saw a need for firearms with higher stopping power to match the higher damage-per-shot weapons of the Vaskrans. While the veritable ACAR-38 was standard during the war, it largely lacked lacked the same power.

The rifle fires 8.41x63mm armour-piercing ferromagnetic tungsten rounds at hypersonic speeds exceeding mach 9, able to pierce through solid surfaces and armour. The weapon comes standard with an inbuilt undermounted grenade launcher that launches 30mm smart airburst grenades that home into targets and explode at head level, dealing high damage. This can be swapped for an electroshock taser, deployable energy bayonet, flamethrower, and other dedicated mounts. Its series of powerful electromagnets is powered by an efficient IMS Manufacturing GH4 microfusion power cell that can power the weapon for decades on end. It is used extensively by the United Earth Government Armed Forces as the primary infantry weapon of combat units. Each ACAR-52 has a built-in biometric lock, which allows only the user it is coded to to fire the weapon. This lock can be remotely disabled, and is automatically reset upon the user's death.

Carbine versions are available for the civilian and security market who do not employ power armoured units. These carbine variants are lighter but less powerful than military-grade ones.

The Voswall Incident
In the late 28th century, before the Psyker purges, there was a group of pskyers known as Voswall's Order. Lord-General Arkhan Severus and Prime-Psykanis Voswall Caecil were in charge of an small detachment. This detachment was used to quell rebellions and uprisings. During a rebellion, the Psykers and Voswall had turned against Arkhan Severus. Arkhan was implicated by the Heydrian Empire for association. The battle between Heydrian forces and the rebel Psykers was long and deadly. As the Psykers were assisting rebels and were hidden in a mountain stronghold. This was remedied when the Heydrian Navy bombarded the planet.
