Interest Check prefix?

In the light of there being several threads in the Looking for Players forum that are not actually recruiting players at the moment or not even at all, might it warrant the addition of a special "Interest Check" prefix? It would also help in cases where a GM hasn't decided on a Forum, Chat or Hybrid game. Just a thought.

This is an interesting suggestion speaking such a prefix used to exist. However that was when Roleplay Discussion and Interest Check forums were one-in-the-same. The interest check section did exist as a stand-alone and then was renamed to "Looking for Players" so that it could also be used as a recruitment forum for games already in process.

The reason why I bring this up is at least according to the original idea, all threads in the Looking for Player forum are "interest checks" by default if they are for a game that hasn't been made. Granted there maybe many different points in time someone might be checking for interest such as: before they have an entire idea or much later on when they have their game basically all planned out. A question arises, are both incidences an "interest check" or is there a difference between the two threads. Both are trying to see if there is interest in the idea. Yet you do have a point that not all interest checks attempt to recruit (but most do eventually get there within that thread or another thread later on).

Intentions aside, what we established the forums for might be in no ways how the current forum is. People putting "interest check" in their title does seem to indicate they want to designate their threads from something else. What this other thing is though? I am not sure.

It might be helpful to label a thread "interest check" and "recruitment" with prefixes. However at this time we still support both chat and thread games. While this won't be the case after the automatic system update (http://www.roleplay.zone/threads/the-future-of-rpdom.59464/page-2). We would at the moment need to have someway of using two prefixes in one thread to do that.

Its also possible to consider separating the two sections in general if a more definable difference can be found and people actually use the two different styles equally.

Regardless my bantering was probably a lot more of an answer than what you had wanted. Adding the prefix is easily done, but adding it might also change a lot of the Looking for Player's forums dynamics (or it might not and might just provide another option for users). So there are somethings to consider. We will discuss it as a staff though.

At the moment it doesn't seem like this will be implemented. Prefixes as a whole though will be overhauled for most General sections. So if you feel the need is still there after the changes, please feel free to bring up the idea again.

Thanks
